Tuesday, April 14th. All members present. Shannon, Scott, and Corey live. Uh Ken has joined us via remote. Um Matt Carmody had patients already this morning, so he'll not be here. I have not heard from Dan yet, so. Uh we'll move on to the approval of the agenda. Is there anything beyond what is listed there that we need to add? Ken, can you make a motion? Yep, I'm here. All right, then I'll take a motion to approve as presented. So moved. Okay, motion by Scott. Second. I'll second. Seconded by Shannon. Any further discussion? Okay. Since Ken is remote today, we have to do each vote by roll call. So, Shannon? Yep. Scott? Yep. Corey, yes. Ken? Yes. All right. Motion approved. Uh so, moving on to 4.0 is the resignation of Superintendent Scott Manka. It His
notice is there. I also emailed it to you yesterday as well. And then it was accepted yesterday morning, correct? Correct. So, all of the check boxes have been checked on our side, so. Take a motion to approve. I'll make a motion. Motion by Shannon. I'll second. Seconded by Ken. Any further discussion? Okay, hearing none. Shannon? Yep. Scott? Yep. Corey, yes. Ken? Yes. All right, motion carries. Uh so, thank you, Scott. Yes, thank you. Thank you. You're done. um, and we'll continue to do until the June. It's been, uh, a pleasure to work with you and to get to know you and and best of luck in in Alaska, which I'm sure you'll rock it out up there and thank you. Have a Have a work-life balance. Yes. And I would just say thank you to
both of the board. It's been an absolute pleasure as well. Okay, moving on to 5.0 is the, uh, the executive search services from Minnesota, uh, School Boards Association. You'll see that as exhibit one on page five. We have, in the past, two, three times we've done the full search. Um, and in the last couple of times, Scott I've been through this enough where we think we can do it. We've pretty much been able to do it by ourselves but, you know, Rick Scott he's willing to help us out. Um, so we're going to recommend that we go with the limited search, uh, which will be, um, 2,900. Um, because most of our stuff is done. The brochure is probably just update some numbers. And, very little work for them other than to screen the candidates
and get it into that system that they have and um, get it set up to to be able to screen resumes, etc. Lee will be Lee will be our point of contact. In the past it's been Terry Quist. So he'll be our point and he'll join us on Thursday to go over give you a little more color on what that process looks like from their side on the limited search. Should be the exact same as last time where we'll get email links for them to view. Um we'll scan them at the time and decide on the candidates we want to bring in. And then we can also discuss whether we're going to do first or second interviews. Depending on how many candidates we get. So if you only have two, we may only do one.
Um that's that. Any questions on this meeting? Hearing none, I'll take a motion to approve the unlimited search. So moved. Okay, motion by Scott. I'll second. Second by Shannon. Any further discussion on the after the service agreement? Okay, hearing none. Shannon? Yep. Scott? Yep. Corey, yes. Kent? Yes. All right, motion carries. Uh 6.0 is executive educational leadership service contract. AKA Rick Ellingsworth. So see that contract there. So for this contract with Rick before he kind of a liaison or continued mentorship with Mr. Lumpkin. Um so this one's a different This will be on an hourly basis, so 100 bucks an hour and he's capping it at 5,000. Um so even if we use all that plus the uh unlimited search uh we're only spending like 7,900 versus I think it was 11,000 for the full
search. So Rick, uh as soon as I called him, he was already I think that night he was already On the word? Already do it. So, if you're calling people and I got his tentative schedule, which we'll talk about on Thursday tomorrow. Um as far as when they can start. MSBA wanted to do it fairly quickly. MSBA is saying we should probably take a little more time to get on the actual week or so in there. So, I think they had it out maybe in May. Maybe a month or two, but they think they can be there We'll discuss that more on uh Thursday. So, any other questions on the service contract? Okay, I'll take the motion to approve. Make motion to Motion by Shannon. I'll second. Second by Scott. Any further discussion? Okay, hearing
none. Let's go to Shannon. Yep. Scott? Yep. Corey, yes. Ken? Yes. All right, motion Motion carries. Uh 7.0 is just a reminder. So, same time um 2 days from now on Thursday. Um we'll meet with Warren and Rick um to discuss probably more so the timeline. And then anything else that you may want to add to the brochure that you don't currently have or you think something needs to be updated from what we posted 2 years ago. Um just take a look at those in the next couple of days and and um come back with any suggestions or recommendations to change anything. Um so, moving on to 8.0, which is just of talked about as well. so that brochure that needs last minute attached to the agendas here. Um Uh obviously the the numbers which
Scott's already working on starting the financials. Um we'll need to determine um starting starting salary or start starting sa- salary range um on there as well. Um so those will be the two big things um for Thursday. So with that, is there anything else for today? Kent, are you remote at all on Thursday? Yes, sir. And that will be done on Thursday morning again in case she's not able to make it. Okay. So with that, I'm just making sure we at least got a quorum together. And All right, if there's nothing else, we'll take a motion to adjourn. Motion Motion by Shannon. I'll second. Seconded by Scott. Any No, we don't have any discussion on this. Shannon? Yes. Scott? Yep. Corey, yes. Scott? Yes. All right. Motion carries, we are adjourned. Thank you. Thanks, Kent.
Thanks, Kent. Thank you, Kent. Thanks, Lisa and Dave.
