001monday it's july 12 5 30 i'm going to call the meeting to order eric our attendance all seven board members and our student rep our president thank you let's all rise and join in the to the pledge for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all tonight before we begin our meeting just a few items housekeeping items to address before we start our meeting first these meetings are recorded as a courtesy to the community and unfortunately the recording of our most recent meeting experienced a glitch we apologize for the inconvenience and we're doing our best to prevent it from happening again second item is the issue of meeting decorum board meetings are to be conducted in an orderly fashion where the business of the board is carried out in
002a public setting public input is available during public forum and as chair i respectfully request that the public refrain from interruptions during tonight's meeting with that we'll approve uh will entertain a motion to approve tonight's agenda motion and a second any further conversation hearing none all in favor aye any opposed emotion carries first item tonight would be public forum and to the best of my ability the order that they came in uh jason jacobs jason i've got a timer it's a three minute time i'll give you a high sign at about two and a half minutes all right well thanks for having me well i'm a father of three children and sometimes there's division and unrest in our house many times these issues they are having are brought to my wife and i uh to
003help work things out in order to be fair and just parents we hear all three perspectives regarding the issue in order to determine the appropriate response and solution it is amazing how different the three perspectives actually are and how each one feels they are right for centuries there has been division and unrest in our country regarding racial issues these issues have been on the forefront of politics and headlines on the news for as long as i can remember it also appears evident when you watch or listen to the news that there is no significant progress being made how can we make progress as a community in a country if we are not open to listening and being educated on another perspective crt presents another perspective that might explain why some groups of people may be
004at a disadvantage systemically due to presence systems and policies in addition to past history there is not enough time for me to speak about all the reasons why i think crt should be taught nor are there nor is there time for me to dispute the points of those who think it should not all i can say is that i think perspectives should be heard when formulating opinions and i do not want my children nor others resorting to unreliable information on social media or biased commentators and groups not substantiating their claims with truths or facts therefore i trust and support the educators and leaders in our school district to teach our children historical and present truths about this topic and present it in a way that sparks honest dialogue and critical thinking maybe just maybe new
005ideas and creative thinking develop from the future of this country by teaching crt my hope is that being truthfully and fully educated on this topic may just help people understand connect and create unity with any new systems policies and laws that are created by our next greatest generation thank you for your time jason thank you up next tina shafer ryan larson ryan welcome seat at the table so i'm ryan larson uh father of two lived southeast of a town here just have some major concerns i guess with the topic or idea of potentially introducing the critical race theory curriculum into our school system um just going to tell you guys we're building a 100 some million dollar new high school facility here and i do not want my children being taught that type of curriculum
006it is absolutely i feel like why are we erasing things and i am not racist i am not racist i i agree with equality but these things that that this crt is being brought forward into it's made it to look like there's a certain ethnicity that has that has more seniority or has that has upper hand well that's not how it is that's not how i grew up you work hard to get where you're at take race out of it you know let's not politicize things in the school system we do not politicize it there's enough that going on in the world right now in this country a lot of division going on and a lot of it's politically spiked let's not let that get down to our school system and taint our kids because
007i can tell you one thing if this pushes through in this school district not only will my two children be pulled out of the school district but i can guarantee you there's going to be a heck of a lot more that's going to happen so keep that in mind it's not a threat it's how i feel i'm passionate about the education of my children that's why i put my trust in the owatonna school district that type of curriculum it's not going to fly in my book because that's not how that's not how i was brought up that's not how i see the world i rest my case ryan thank you up next angela langley hi angela hi welcome thanks guys i am angela langley i currently live here in watana um i am married 12
008years and i do have a 13 year old son who just turned 13 yesterday and he is actually going to medford school board members i look across our community and see a tremendous polarization students teachers and parents are afraid to voice their true opinions in our schools for fear of dot grades threats to job security and retaliation against their students or businesses a singular social political narrative is being pushed and anyone who dares to question it or speak against it is being attacked and demonized fellow citizens this is not inclusion this is not tolerance this is not freedom this is not american i speak as one citizen representing thousands who are taking a stand against racism in any form no matter what it may be labeled let me clarify in no uncertain terms that those
009who oppose critical race theory and the organization black lives matters are not racist we do not see ourselves as being better than anyone else we value all lives and the rights of every person and those of us who oppo excuse me oppose crt also do not deny the injustices of america's past toward native and african americans we believe that the full context of our history and diverse perspectives should be taught from the noble premise established in our declaration of independence that every person is created with equal rights to the tragedies of slavery and broken treaties to the sacrificial effort to end slavery in the civil war and the securing of equal rights for people of color and women through the civil rights movement we also do not deny the presence of racism today however we
010firmly believe that promoting new forms of racism will not heal already existent forms of racism therefore we reject critical race theory because it teaches students to judge themselves and others by their skin color and group themselves as either white oppressors or oppressed people of color promoting crt in our schools will only institutionalize racism which is why 20 states have already outlawed it and so many people across this district firmly oppose it our communities are polarized by this ideological warfare and our vulnerable children are caught in the crossfire for this reason i urge you to stop politicizing the content of our children's education revisions from the 2004 minnesota social studies standards to the 2020 version proves that a shift in education has occurred instead of helping students gain the knowledge and skills that are necessary to
011protect and maintain freedom and teaching them the study of u.s history as an ongoing quest for liberty freedom and justice students will be indoctrinated to be conscious and critical of their own biases and those of the largest society and trained to look at their identity through a lens of race and gender this shift from knowledge and skills to indoctrination has happened before in the history of the world under hitler and nazi germany and some of the world's most highness atrocities have followed i urge you to carefully consider where these social political philosophies are taking us as a nation and what they will do to our children strip the politics and the sexualization out of our schools and stick to education not indoctrination home stretch angela teach our children the skills of learning and how to
012think versus telling them what to think and crippling their minds by falling to teach by failing to teach them the basic tools of learning return to true pure education or be prepared to face a massive exodus appearance walking their children and their tax dollars right out of your schools i urge us all to stand as courageous champions for our children for america and for liberty thank you next speaker would be marlene nelson marlene welcome yes thank you i uh i couldn't agree with these last speakers any more than i do they said it so eloquently united we stand divided we fall this is a political marxist agenda and if they want to break this country apart critical race is going to be how you can do it schools have a fiduciary responsibility you have a
013huge responsibility what you put in these young people's minds is just like a sponge they take it up and i can tell from talking to grandchildren they've drank the kool-aid and i'm just disgusted with the whole thing it's a political agenda this isn't education and i'm very disgusted and there's teachers i have talked to that are retired they said if i wasn't retired already i would have to quit i couldn't do this and they're not into all the transgender and the lgbtq crap either and so i just think you need to get back like she said to pure education we need to be studying real history and you don't erase your past by just taking down statues we have people taking down statues of lincoln are they so stupid they don't know that he was
014the one that freed the slaves with the emancipation proclamation i don't think they know because you're not teaching history it needs to be taught we have a beautiful glorious country i love my country and i just can't see how we can let it slip down because you're choosing to do this and it is a choice you don't have to accept this like she said 20 states have banned it i'd be so proud of minnesota if you would ban this is there some kind of money component and are we just prostituting ourselves for more dollars from the federal government what's the deal here i'm just disgusted but i really feel like this critical race is so important to the future of our nation it's got to be stopped in its tracks and i don't know why
015you people even want to be involved in it i can't even imagine what's the point but i've talked to teachers currently teaching too and they don't like it but they don't dare speak out they say if i say anything i'll be fired well i don't work for you so i'm say whatever i like so i'll speak for them they don't like it and i don't like it and retired teachers are saying i would have quit my job i couldn't have done it so think about this you're indoctrinating our kids you're not educating our kids are coming out as dumb as a box of rocks and they're it's not their fault our kids are smart 30 seconds give them a chance give them real material so they learn give them the skills they need to get
016through life you i feel like our kids are losing out we've got to do something so that they get their education restored and it's not happening right now with this kind of garbage it's got to go we got to get back to the core basics and i don't mean common core math either where two plus two equals five we gotta be teaching real math real history and get our kids so they have a vocabulary other than four letter words thanks marlene anyway that's where i'm standing from thank you next card is anthony hernandez anthony welcome thank you and thanks for having me and god bless everyone um i'm anthony anthony hernandez from orton um husband father my older kids are um older but i have a five-year-old and nine-year-old that's what concerns me that's why
017i'm here special guest mr trump okay equity and equality so um the quality of being fair and impartial with equity everyone is provided with what they need to succeed equality everyone is treated the same exact way regardless of any need or any other individual difference minority black brown red yellow can say or have tattoos expressing which i've seen brown pride and black power and all that and they're hailed as like you know good for you a white person does that they're called a racist i actually have a friend that has a tattoo that says white power he's not a racist but i mean look at him you might call him that but it's just automatically like that and which i don't agree with so now a white person does the same against racism as i
018said many say hail to the minorities doing this and condemn the white person for doing the same thing white people are now being oppressed police are being oppressed conservative christians as myself oppressed donald trump supporters we were way harassed and oppressed still being harassed and these things are going to school now um when my older kids my daughter graduated like a few years back and when he was like elected and whatnot and i actually got a lot of calls and you know because he won and it was really disheartening but back to crt um all progress we have made is being destroyed by hate groups like black live lives matter nazi hate groups etc we condemn the nazi hate groups but yet we condone black lives matter which is ridiculous to me i was at
019um current um establishment in otano that's current and um years back um there's rules to be followed and if you did poem you're asked to leave so now i notice that mainly minorities i keep track of this for my personal needs and it's like we have um well i'm a minority of considered eventually the white people will be the minority but that's in level like 20 years or so so i'm witnessing this um this is going to get to like 20 seconds well that went fast okay so anyways um it's like minorities are now getting a green card to like kind of do a lot more than they should and getting away with a lot of things which i think is really ridiculous and as other people had mentioned if it goes to the schools
020which i don't want to put my i'm homeschooling my children and i don't want to put them back anthony thank you okay hope hi you're right there welcome i am thank you i'm anthony's wife the better half just kidding um first i just want to um say thank you jesus for this opportunity to live in this country and to be in this room with these people and um lord we know that we are only here because of you because you are the great creator i want to just bring to light of the people in the room that you tell us lord whoever causes one of these little ones to believe in me to sin it would be better for them to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the
021depth of the sea you say lord in psalm 127 3-5 behold children are a heritage from the lord the fruit of the womb a reward like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them he shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate the lord knows that i prayed for many years to homeschool my children and that was just a personal choice i did not hate the school system i loved what they were doing my wonderful wonderful principal here of my darling child my my youngest that was in school they did a wonderful job helping her to get past some of her problems and her needs however the lord brought around the pandemic and
022here we are today an answer to prayer in a weird way however i have to fight for the people the other people that are bringing their children into public schools i see what's happening and it's uh it doesn't seem like people are being forthcoming of what what's going on it seems like things are being hidden and it seems like a lot of parents don't even realize what's going on um i know that critical race theory obviously i i'm against that i feel like that's separating people and it's it's wrong um i don't think that we should be teaching any of that we should be teaching mathematics and history and and you know just the things that are important science and and language and love and and those kinds of things but there's another thing that
023i really wanted to mention because i think a lot of people don't know and i know that there's kind of a lot of coverage with this um these meetings now but there's a thing called um what is a comprehensive sex education is that what it is cse and it's trying to teach kindergarteners how to masturbate how to um choose their own sex um there's pornographic pictures there's there's things like that and i just don't think that that is something that watana wants to do i don't think that we as a community of people we're a wonderful community of people we're loving where we're i mean yes there's people that do bad things but we love each other we want the best for each other and i just don't see how teaching a five-year-old how to
024masturbate or showing them pictures of penises and vaginas that's not for the schools to do and i just i just pray that we fight that with all of our might and and jesus will help us that's what i have hope thank you [Music] our next card is from chadlang hi chad welcome i have the distinction of being the oldest person in the room anybody want to challenge me on that hearing none i'm going to proceed i've got a few quotes here that i think i picked out that are quite appropriate i'm afraid that there is a certain class of race problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well because as long as a disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living but also an easy medium through
025which to make themselves prominent before the public any guesses who said that booker t washington no greater injury can be done to any youth than to let him feel that because he belongs to this or that race he will be advanced in life regardless of his own merits or efforts again the wisdom of brooker key washington every record has been destroyed or falsified every book has been rewritten every picture has been repainted every statue and street building has been renamed every date has been altered and that process is continuing day by day and minute by minute history has stopped nothing exists except an endless present in which the party is always right that's from george orwell 1984. and crt what is it and i i think we realize that a good percent of uh district
026761 does not know what it is nor probably at this point do they care but i think they will it is i'd argue the sudden rapid stunning shift in the belief systems of american elites it has sent the whole society into a profound cultural dislocation it is in essence an ongoing moral panic against the specter of white supremacy which is now bizarrely regarded as an accurate description of the largest freest most successful multi-racial democracy in human history and in closing i'd like to if district 761 has to become an island in this discussion battle whatever you want to call it so be it thank you uh we have a card from jamie uh van nosebree jamie welcome thank you [Music] ready okay um i just came this time um to give everybody kind of an
027update um i spoke at the last meeting and and i don't believe that my opinion was well received as evident by um the buoying and the and the side comments um but i i do want to let you know school board that i appreciate all the things that you guys are doing to help with the diversity and the inclusion and all the steps for equity at the schools um you guys have a very difficult job and and i appreciate the direction that you're you're taking the schools and i appreciate that your willingness um to have the critical race theory as an elective at the high schools um i think that allowing kids um to have the choice to be able to take that class and learn more and explore more i think that will really
028help in the direction that owatana is trying to go right now i also want to give an update after i left here i had people reach out to me that i don't even know through social media um to comment to let me know that um they appreciate the things that i said um they agree with what i said but they didn't want to come here and they don't want to have those conversations because they're just not ready to do that yet and so i want to remind the school board that even though there are a lot of people here tonight and there were also at the last meeting that just because some voices are loud doesn't mean that they're the only voices in the room and so i appreciate you guys willing to hear the
029silent majority and i appreciate your willingness to continue working towards the equity and the inclusion and the direction that the oaktona schools are going so that's all i got thank you jimmy thank you with that that draws to a close tonight's uh public forum we will move on now uh item five tonight discussion items no action required by the board uh board forum deborah i'm going to start down on your end you have anything for the uh board forum tonight no just still looking at the things that i can sign up for webinars through m n s b a okay thank you daniella how about you anything for board forum not at the moment no thank you here uh nothing at the moment nothing for me julian facilities meeting earlier today um high school is
030moving along as planned there's construction updates on the website that you can new high school tab construction updates they have pictures they have videos they've got listings of what they've done what they're working on what they're going to be doing there's a time lapse video that's pretty cool otherwise summer projects are going well at some of the local schools just updating hvac systems things like that and also starting to get a little deeper into the conversation about the current high school and the future use and so the engage awatana website has been up for quite some time that people can go out and they can give ideas and provide some feedback and thoughts as to what we should do with that building and over the course of the next six months a task force will
031be evolving similar to the one that we pulled together for the high school bond to kind of what to do with that building and the previous bonds so all good stuff very exciting anything else dad nope perfect okay good thank you i have nothing for board forum lori no nothing tonight thank you um don't forget to sign up for the summer session for minnesota school board association thursday is the last day for early bird registration very good thank you there is really nothing that was a part of your packet tonight with regard to the administrative report item c tonight which would be the legislative update we have amanda hallman and mr allstate are both here to give us uh an update with regard to the outcome and what it might mean for us as that
032session did draw to a close thank you mr chair members of the board um we did see some legislative closure right before the deadline of june 30th and there was a bill that was signed by governor walls i believe it was right on either july 1st or june 30th right in there and so what we're here tonight is to present a couple of different fronts i've asked amanda to talk a little bit about the financial implications of the budget that was set for the next biennium and then i will be commenting on some of the policy changes that happen in the legislature this year yeah as part of the financial conclusion we were the legislature did close with an increase in our state aid basic formula which was great we got 2.45 for the 21
03322 school year and then 2 for the 22-23 school year for the next biennium so what that essentially means for us is in the 21-22 school year we'll get an additional 161 dollars per pupil which equates to about 925 thousand dollars for us in additional revenue and as you'll recall when we presented our june preliminary budget we did put one percent and of an increase in there so that additional revenue will see about another 470 000 from what we preliminarily budgeted with that increase there for 22.23 the two percent represents another 135 per pupil or an additional 000 in additional revenue so those increases are great to help us continue to sustain our financial stability as we move forward and we hope that continues as we move forward into the next legislative session as well
034one of the other big pieces is they did have a one-time special education cross-subsidy reduction aid for 2122 which represents about 71 000 of additional revenue for us but if you recall our cross subsidy that we currently have is about six million dollars so just a little over one percent so that we obviously have a lot of room left to do with the legislative level on our special education cost subsidy so we hope that that continues as they move forward one of the other pieces that did get passed was all the current voluntary pre-kindergarten seats that were currently up ours were up they are now being funded so for the next two years at least we will be able to continue the voluntary pre-kindergarten program so those are all the updates i have from the
035financial abuse questions from the financial piece from the board um just a quick question so the um pre-k seats that that's on the two-year cycle as well correct so it's just money yeah two years yep yeah the voluntary pre-k program has been a real benefit because we've been able to really provide some opportunities for families that may or may not have that preschool experience one of the things that i was very pleased with is that we like when there's not a lot of new policy coming out from the legislature because many of those become unfunded mandates for the board or excuse me for the district and so uh we did see a couple of things um one of which is i'll draw to your attention we have taken a very proactive stance in our school
036district to uh against any lunch shaming and so if students don't have money in their lunch account they get the same meal as any everyone else does that there was a new policy put in place by the legislature to make sure that meals are provided in a respectful manner and prohibits any districts from doing anything that would be indicating that students didn't have lunch we've always taken the approach that we're never going to penalize kids we'll go to the families and ask them to adjust their accounts and pay for their accounts but we really want to make sure students are not held in any sort of situation that is beyond their control so that was a change that was now put into law i would draw your attention to a couple of things there was
037one these are education related provisions that happen on their fields health and human services was given additional funding for school-linked mental health grants we are a recipient of a school-linked mental health grant in fact it's helped us to put mental health practitioners in all of our buildings which has allowed us opportunities to make sure that we are working through mental health issues with students to make sure that they're safe uh they feel emotionally safe and in classrooms so that learning can take place um and then one thing i just what i thought we've been we've been waiting for this for quite a while they are now going to be in transportation finance uh they're providing some grants so the otana bus company will take advantage of this stop arm cameras we have a number of
038stop arm violations every year and of course these are near-death experiences for students when people don't stop for the stop arm of the bus and we want to make sure that all of our students are safe and so the otana bus company will be accessing some of the funding to a doll install they already have some but you even install further stop arm camera systems that's because we want to make sure that people that violate that are caught because we certainly don't want anyone to get hurt so those were the kind of the major updates with policy as i mentioned there wasn't too much policy this year that was appropriate that's our report legislatively questions um so with the meals provided respectful was there any um legislation that came out regarding um how do i
039say this um school lunches for those who may have not filled out the forms that were qualified for the the the news we have right now that the federal government has granted an additional year of no charging for lunches based upon kind of worse pandemic recovery and so through the 21 22 school year we will still be providing lunches for children free of charge now we do have some holocaust items that are not part of that program but the basic lunch is served to every student moving forward 22 23 and beyond we don't know what that will mean so this act policy is actually going to be proactive looking at down the road to make sure that we just there are no practices in place that would allow for lunch shaming which unfortunately has happened
040in some districts in other parts of our nation and it's just something we just don't want to participate in so now with the free and reduced lunch since we're getting another year free is that going to affect any other budgetary issues it can yes it has a big impact because um in providing students or more of our at-risk students our students with needs we've been using the free reduced lunch to help us to identify students that we need additional services and then it generates some formula dollars for us to put specialized paraprofessionals eas teachers reading and math instructors additional instructors into buildings and classrooms when we don't have people filling out the forms we lose that opportunity and so that is something we're going to be continuing to work with amanda works with the student
041nutrition department to make sure we're still contacting families and asking them to fill out the paperwork i know there are sometimes stigmas are attached with that but we continue to tell families that our work here is just to provide as much resource as we can for families so that all of our students can be successful okay thank jeff i was you gonna clarify i think you said this but in our uh we've already addressed the lunch shaming yes yes yeah that was uh two years ago i think we put that in place any other questions all right good update thank you thank you we're gonna move on item six tonight would be our consent agenda the quick reminder here we are approving the minutes from our june 28th meeting as well as the personnel report
042anybody have any reason to believe that we should pull out any of those items and vote on them independently i just had a question about the personnel report the resignations retirement and termination you can't tell what's what um from looking at that if we have a termination is that something where we'll have a closed meeting to discuss it if there's ever a termination it would go to close mean to discuss an employee issue with that and what's attached with that so okay i just wanted some clarification on that any other questions i have one question um again since i'm probably like half of the world where you get a lot of your information via social media um i happen to see a posting regarding a new employee but it's for next school year pending board
043approval um but i'm not seeing it on here are we expecting any i was expecting to see a new form or will it be coming i assume next year clarify that for me nikki is that that there's for a teaching position for next school year it's not a teaching position it's a coaching position oh okay it was posted on online and i just i didn't see it on here so that's why i was asking you know the specific sport or activity it was a new hockey coach varsity oh that had that had been posted previously okay because josh storm who was our current coach yeah but i hadn't seen the resignation i hadn't seen the new hire right yeah the new posting did go through and we just recently hired i think it's david from
044the name the new headquarters yeah to replace that yeah okay so will that be next time presumably in other words i think they could be saying it will be next time because the contract is still hasn't been signed by the employee yet and so we'll come to the next meeting for board consideration thank you that explains it i appreciate it yep because it was just as of last thursday or friday exactly all right any other questions hearing none would one of you be kind enough to introduce the motion i move to approve the consent agenda as presented second we have a motion and a second all in favor with an eye hi any opposed motion carries uh item seven tonight couple of items that need board action the first would be long-term facilities maintenance we
045have bob olson here to walk us through that report bob welcome amanda is here as well yeah we couldn't let her sit down too long all right thank you well it's that time of year again so about five years ago i came to you for the first time to talk about the ltfm dollars that we have now that we get from the state of minnesota which is great that helps our community out and helps our school district out unlike it used to in the past when we had both the top 25 schools were getting the majority of the money for upkeep and fixing up their current buildings with the onset of long-term facility ltfm dollars we are able to do the things we need to do to make sure our buildings can continue to be
046as great as they are so um we're happy to do this um every year we have to do a 10-year plan um to see what the revenue is coming in and then we can we plug in some numbers again to have them as placeholders for projects that we have coming up within the next two years for sure and then some down the road so i'm very happy to have this report for you guys out here and ready to vote on tonight and hopefully we will get it passed um if it does pass then we have to take that turn it into the state of minnesota and then they approve it for the money that comes through in the future yeah just for everyone's reference we're setting the the 22-23 um fiscal year obviously our levy's
047one year behind so as we're looking at these at the reports that are in there for the fiscal year 2023 column is really what we're looking at um and then beyond obviously for the 10-year plan want to hit the high points for us yep so from a revenue perspective we get about 1.9 million dollars each year that we then used to allocate the projects and i think bob was going to hit on some of the highlights for the 2023 year yeah we have some projects that are coming up here um these are rough estimates because we have not gone out and gotten bids or anything format so we kind of go around and get some rough estimates from contractors we have a rooftop unit at current mckinley school that is the original that was built
048in 1991 that is on i don't even know if it's still on its last leg may not have any legs left but this year normally we do the air conditioning units of rooftop units during the school year which is kind of crazy because during the summer time it's such a crazy time with everything else that's going on in there and i know it sounds weird that it's crazier during the summer than when there's kids in the building but that's normal for us so anyway we have that we have an ohs chiller that is on its last leg out of three legs that it has and we're really nervous about do we go ahead and get a brand new chiller because of what may happen with the current high school down the road if there's going
049to be any other areas that the school district is going to use for the with the current high school we are going to need a chiller anyway so it does make sense right now because if we don't do it we still have two school years that we have to we have to have students and staff in there we're not going to make it we'll barely make it through the rest of the summer so we're looking at pricing that out for a new chiller with the option not the option with the expectation that if we do something different with the high school we'll pick it up and we'll move it to the uh to the area so we're already getting ahead of the game on that one i'm really looking at not wasting our money making
050sure that we can utilize things that are still in great shape we have blacktop that we need to do out at the lincoln playground that thing has cracks in it all over the place and it just needs to be torn out and redone we had some oms carpet replacement in the e-stem area that was built in 1991 so that still has the original carpet in there that we're going to have to look at replacing some carpet the pool that's a wild card on us right now and i put an estimate of around three hundred thousand dollars to get her fixed and i might be really short on that so um over the years water seems to get everywhere and we all know that in our own houses um water is getting down through underneath and
051we gotta make sure that we're bringing in some structural engineers to make sure that it's still safe and it is right now but it may not be for a long long time down the road so we will have to look at shutting the pool down for a while at some time fixing up the structure underneath tearing out probably most of the tile and to get to the waterproof level that there's a waterproof barrier underneath the tile and the cement and that has been punctured um just over time it's over 60 years old so we have a lot of a lot of fixes on that one so those are just some of the ones that are coming up and then we've got other playgrounds abatement travel steps at the middle school need fixing and and getting
052things ready to go so even though we've been very the community's been great for us to update some of these schools we still have um maintenance that has to happen every single year and some things that we weren't able to uh to fix with the upgrades um we're now using ltfm dollars for that and we knew that because we did that big study and it said you know this is going to last you for two years this is going to last you for 10 this is going to last you for 20 from the 2015 bond we are now in 21 we're six years out so those five year pieces that we that world recognize that are gonna start to happen are happening and that's what we have here so it's a never-ending process questions remind
