001thanks good evening everyone and welcome we are the owatonna school board this is monday it's june 14th it's 5 30. i'm going to call this meeting to order we have actually two meetings tonight we have a very quick regular special meeting and then we're going to move right from that into our work session with that i'm going to call the meeting to order eric our attendance just missing student rep danielle let's hope that she's able to make it uh let's all rise and join in the pledge i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all so starting with this special meeting the first item would be to simply approve the agenda for the

003just disappointed that we are even talking of stuff like this but i'm glad to see the community really waking up that was a packed house at the country club and that was very encouraging because a lot of people are realizing the stuff their kids are learning something they don't want them learning and i will never apologize because i have white skin and i think what we're doing is we're dividing people we're making people feel like if you're white there's something wrong with you we are the oppressors everyone else has been impressed by us my ancestors developed this country and why is it it's been the shining star to the whole world half of the people on this earth would love to be here and as we can see our southern border is getting swamped every
004day we can't be so bad we have to teach critical race their their theory and everybody's dying to get here and i just feel like our school has no place doing that and there are other things in our school that bother me i don't like all the emphasis on gender fluidity glbt and q when i was in school and that's in the dark ages of course when i was in school they taught the girls separately they taught them how their body functioned they taught the boys separately taught them but they weren't into all of this sex education and i think if the school would concentrate more on teaching correct math rather than common core math and if they would get busy and teach cursive writing and teach our kids how to critically think i feel
005like schools have become indoctrination centers and i don't feel like their education anymore i feel like what's going on is to make telling our kids how to think not what what to think but not how to think independently and i'm disappointed because we throw more and more money at schools and i think we're getting a forward for a result of it and it's costing us over 14 000 a year per pupil is that correct last time i saw the figures that's where i thought we were at can somebody please tell me is that the right figure or is everybody going to deny it public forum is your opportunity to say what you would like for three minutes as i know i believe it's over 14 000 per year per pupil i expect a far better
006product than that it's it's really something if you go to a grocery store and your purchase is say 1985 and you give them a 20 billion all of a sudden you think oh i've got 15 cents i can give them they look at you like what do i do now they don't know what to do because cash register told them what to get back they can't think and our kids aren't stupid if they were taught correctly they could think and i'm so proud i have a grandson who said i thought all my friends were the things that i knew and he said i now know it's only because my grandma taught me i didn't get it through the schools we need to teach our kids practical things that are going to carry them through life
007this business of talking about glbt and q gender fluidity uh critical race theory this has no place in our schools and get busy and start teaching i think if you were to put the focus on actual education i think a homeschooler could do it in two hours where you guys spend all day i see kids riding their bikes that's part of their education i see them walking and i'm thinking oh what a fine way to spend our 14 000 tuition on stuff that should be after hours for them to do they should be in their learning reading writing correct math i'm not happy with the product that we're bringing out of our school system and i really think it needs to change and all the sex education and gender fluidity if a boy feels like
