thank you everybody thanks for your patience we're just trying to get some audio working in a back room because we have overflow tonight so i appreciate your patience i didn't want to start until everybody had a chance to be able to see it um thanks for your patience and thank you all for coming out tonight um with that i'd like to call this meaning to order and would you please join me in the pledge of allegiance i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all okay bear with me one minute here okay so um with tonight tonight's roll call all members are present this evening um and with that next up is the

open forum set um segment and with the open forum segment this is according to our board policy 203 it's a 15-minute time period set aside to receive citizen input through this open forum segment it's input from staff students parents and community members and it's valuable and the board appreciates everyone who takes time and those that are speaking with us this evening speakers tonight will not be or any night actually will not be allowed to verbally attack disparage or potentially defame individual board members employees students nor may speakers use vulgar or profane language we as board members will sit and listen respectfully to presenters but we will not engage individuals during this time we will not deliberate or take any type of action if any follow-up is needed the superintendent or designee will get back if

there's questions that are asked at this time the vice chair we did this last meeting we'll put up a yellow sign for 15 seconds basically you have 15 seconds left at the end of your time and then there's a red for when it's time to stop and then seeing tonight we have we have 15 minutes and it looks like we have seven people tonight and with that we'll allow the three minutes for everybody so we'll go to 21 minutes but please be respectful of everyone's time and so i'm just going to call the speakers up and with that they can if you can state your name and your address that for the official record um all right and the first one up tonight is shannon smith hey do you need the full address i know

we are live streaming um it's helpful to have the full address i appreciate that sure shannon smith 14582 kentucky avenue and savage good evening my original plan was to come here tonight and share data why we should mandate masks in school instead i propose a compromise last school year our district used metrics and guidance to decide when school was in person hybrid or distance let's do the same with masking if we don't have a universal mask requirement in place according to the cdc whose guidance is shared by mdh and mde there are specific reasons what math should be universally required three of them are student population not yet eligible for vaccination like our elementary schools increasing substantial or high coven 19 transmission in school or community scott county as of august 7th is that a

substantial transmission with a 7-day case rate of 75. increasing community transmission of a variant that is spread more easily among children and adolescents in the u.s today there are 1 450 kids right now in the hospital with coven 19. we know delta is more transmissible among everyone last month our seven-day case rate was 4.7 now it is 75. let's use the cdc chart for community transmission to decide when masks are mandatory and send out an update every two weeks lower moderate optional masks substantial or high mandatory if we aren't going to mandate them based on the recommendation mandate them based on the community transmission education secretary miguel mark cardona said he's worried about adult actions getting in the way of school safely reopening those adult actions include policies that go against what the cdc recommendations

are yesterday he said quote you're either going to help students be in school in person and be safe or the decisions you make will hurt students while i understand not wanting to wear masks because we're fatigued without question student safety and staff safety come first end quote let's work together to keep our community safe and our kids and teachers in school don't want to wear a mask get vaccinated make smart decisions help stop the community spread but when we have substantial or high spread mask up make the right choices to keep our children in person learning safely i leave you with a quote from nih director dr collins from sunday evening this is not a political statement or an invasion of your liberties this is a life-saving medical device and asking kids to wear a

mask is uncomfortable but kids are resilient we know that kids under 12 are likely to get infected and if we don't have masks in schools this virus will spread more widely it will probably result in outbreaks in schools and kids will have to go back to remote learning which is the one thing we want to prevent this kind of virtual learning which kids have had to go through for now for more than a year is bad for their development we ought to be making every effort to make sure they can be back in the classroom and the best way to do that is to ensure masks are worn by students by staff by everybody it's a small price to pay for being able to keep kids where they learn thank you thank you all right

[Applause] next up is shannon dance i'm saying that correctly shannon shannon dan's or don's or i yep that's you i yep i talked to you yep is that sorry if i mess your name up and come up here and correct me hi my name is shannon davis i live in prairie lake i'm sorry just um yeah make sure you put out your address for me thank you 15427 stefan circle southeast prior lake thank you i'm an rn and a building nurse at five hawks elementary school for plsas i want to thank you for letting me speak tonight i'm here tonight to give you my resignation i have tried really hard to support the children during this past year but the mandates regulations and policies that were put on the children goes against my beliefs morals

and my oath as a mother and a nurse last year did nothing help the physical emotional mental health safety or education of these children it harmed and hurt them i can no longer work for this school district knowing that the children were not their first priority the damage that has been done to these children is endless and will take years to fix where you see an end to this i see just the beginning i have tried i've tried to voice my views to um to help in the health and well-being of these children and i was told to censor my thoughts feelings and education in science because it offends others well this year offended me because we failed the children and made them feel that they were the problem because of covet we blame them

for the spread of covid we made them wear masks for seven hours even during gym class and recess when it causes more harm than good we quarantined them and made them stay out of school for two weeks because they were in class with somebody with covid we made them test for covid so they could come back to school but it didn't matter if they had symptoms or not they had to flip-flop from distance learning hybrid and in-school learning we have done an injustice to our plsas children and not one person from our administration would stand up for for them and say enough is enough when i first started in this position i loved this job i loved to work with the children parents and the staff as i am ending my career here at plsas

i'm going to miss the students parents and staff i worked with and develop relationships with it pains me to make this decision of my resignation as a five hawks building nurse but i can no longer enforce the school district's policies of mass mandates quarantines and isolation of these prior lakes savage children when i do not believe in them i will not harm the emotional mental or physical health and education of these children any longer and i hope that you and the rest of the administration will make the right choice to forego the same policies we had this past year in this next school year and let the parents make the choices and for the health and safety of their own children thank you for your time [Music] [Applause] kelly schulte my name is kelly schulte

and i live at 15546 pennsylvania avenue in prior lake um my name is kelly schulte and i am a licensed teacher i'm licensed k-6 and i have a master's degree in education i am also a mother of five and i'm actually here as a mom not as a teacher i'm actually a natural health practitioner as well and i'm not here for that reason but i'm here as a mother and i'm not gonna cry um my son i'm not even looking at my notes so um my son is a senior this year he's been in an eight year battle with his health and thank god super the only reason that child is passing school i will have to say is because of distance learning because he couldn't have gone to school for the last year and

a half and because she did everything in the high school to make sure he passed and he has had a battle with lyme's disease and mold and all of these things and finally this summer we found what was going to work for him and he's getting better he's fishing he's meeting with friends again he's doing all of these things last year the doctor told me he couldn't go to school he would write a mask exemption this is a medical doctor not a natural doctor he said i would he would write him a medical exemption to not wear a mask that wasn't an option for him because of the fact that he um there was distance learning so i was told the distance learned for his junior year and i'm like it's his junior year and

in hindsight it was what was best for him because he actually got more school out of had he not but he wanted to go and he wanted to be with his friends so even knowing his oxygen levels are low and wearing a mask made him drop more and he could pass out he's had issues with that he wanted to go so he went to the first day of school and he wore his mask and would sneak it off as he walked through the hallway and he couldn't get out of bed for three days after that and so i told him he couldn't go back to school and he was devastated and this year he was so excited because the masks are gone and he can go back to school he's had seizures three times from

vaccinations so that's not an option for him and so he heard us talking that mass may be an option in the fall for non-vaccinated kids and he said see once again i can't be normal i can't go to school and be normal with my friends i'll have to wear a mask because i'm sick and i'm the one taking the risk and then when he found out that it just might be for everybody vaccinated or not he's like well now i can't even wear a mask because i'll be distance learning and i'll have to stay home or i might just go to school and wear my mask and pass out and let them deal with what happens to me because i want to be with my friends from my senior year of high school so with

that i just want you to know that parents who come and have kids who are not vaccinated or can't wear a mask they have a story they're not tyrannical parents who want to destroy the world most of them have a story and they have or have a friend that has a story thank you thank you uh next up is hootie and i'm not gonna say her last name because i'll probably mess it up but you know who you are i'm sure hi my name is hoodie hegg my address is 20410 prior lake lake ridge drive i'm pleased to stand up before you as a prior lake high school student athlete i was invited to the last board meeting to be honored because my cross country team brought home the state championship to prior lake high

school and during the last meeting i was watching and listening as two of my peers and my teacher and a teacher from the district speak i thought to myself wow this is boring but during the but i realized something else since then i saw your reactions to the students speaking and i realized you're probably hearing you probably like hearing from us students i want to thank you for the brave decision you guys made at sending us back to school normally you've said prior lake students and their families can make the decision for themselves i'll be honest it took courage to stand up here today i'm asking the same of you in the months to come please do not change the district mask policy let us have a choice i want to go to school in

person and the only way that is possible for me is without masks i mentioned before i'm a student athlete i'm also the oldest of five children and if you know me i love being around people i've talked to many classmates and fellow student athletes and over the last 18 months with no exceptions we don't want masks and i asked my siblings about mass today my younger sister said she doesn't like them because she wants to see her friends and her teachers smiles my other younger sister said she just wants to have school experience and one of my closest friends said she makes it hard to it makes it the masks make it hard to talk to talk to people and ultimately make her feel lonely i really love this country it's provided the opportunity for

our voices to be heard and how that that's cool i we all love we all have voices and today i get to speak up for my brothers and sisters and my friends i'm standing up for those around me and our bodies and our freedom to choose i'm asking you to stand with me and keep masks optional thank you next charlie cedarstrom my name is charlie cedarstrom and i'm at five three two markley lake drive prior lake i was afraid i was gonna be called up after him and pressing my words and uh and and thank you for the opportunity to to address the board um i might be the only one here without prepared remarks so i would say that there's a lot of passion out here and i think that that's important to consider

as you decide and make decisions throughout the next few months rather than yield to political pressures or maybe the loudest people in the room follow the science follow what our health department is saying and make decisions based off of that i'm a nurse as well i have been following a lot of the information as i'm sure all of you have related to the delta variant specifically and i think it's promising that countries that are like ours and have similar vaccination rates have seen their surge of delta come to an end and start to fall and if our country is to follow a similar pattern we may start seeing that surge end the beginning of the school year maybe september i honestly hope that the decision to make a mask mandate is taken out of your

hands no offense but i hope that it is statewide and but if it's not i would encourage you to follow some of the science and say maybe we can have a mask mandate in place and end it sooner rather than later if we get it into into place i think that as everyone out here has kind of said the goal needs to be having kids in school wearing a mask no one likes wearing a mask i don't like wearing a mask my five-year-old loves wearing a mask maybe he's the exception but being in school i think needs to be priority being in school safely and even higher priority and if it means that we can keep a kid from becoming ill and missing seven days of school while their siblings also miss from school by

wearing a mask i would say that that's worth it that said i realized that i'm not the one sitting in class wearing a mask so i think that hearing from students like we just heard extremely important i also think that there needs to be a healthy dose of literature review following guidance from our department of health school boards et cetera other areas and keeping that in mind as you hear from these students the other thing i wanted to address is the equity work that you've all been doing i know that it has turned into a bit of a hot topic recently the resolution that was passed but i do want to say that as a father of a mixed student or a mixed child two mixed children i feel like it's really firming up a

foundation that they're going to hopefully launch off of when they get to school age and i appreciate all that work that you've been doing thank you thank you [Applause] next up is rachel anderson hi i'm rachel anderson 2083 ponzu jacoby minnesota i have three kids in prior lake one going into high school and tulane elementary school and when i received your back to school update i was really happy that plsas is also wanting to have the cdc's emphasis on having kids in school for the upcoming school year i don't think hybrid worked well for anyone i know that wasn't your choice but it was hard it was hard on families it was hard on kids and i agree we should all have the opportunity to be in person learning however i'm really concerned that you're

not having a universal mass mandate the cdc the minnesota department of health minnesota department of education the u.s department of education all of them recommend wearing universal mask wearing for everyone over the age of two including people who are vaccinated um we had a mass mandate last year we went back to school in person in later spring and it worked we did not have a ton of transmission in schools even when minnesota was having a peak in april we didn't have a lot of transmission in schools we didn't have kids staying home sick because they got coveted at school everyone was in school and wearing masks and it was just a routine part of their day the same way that elementary kids have to wear snow pants if they want to get off the blacktop

and play in the snow they were able to stay in school parents didn't have to stay home with them parents didn't have to take time off of work i don't know how many people have vacation days left after last year but i don't know that it's a lot and we probably have a lot of parents too that don't even have vacation days to come and stay with their kid for seven days because they can't cover it in school they can't they have to choose between their child's health and their financial stability and the kids want to be in school too i don't think any one of our kids will ever again complain that they don't want to go to school for a day they want to be at school with their friends not stuck at

home for a couple of weeks being sick but we know when you are given the opportunity to not wear a mask as we saw this summer people are taking it we have unvaccinated unmasked staff working with our kids right now right now there's not a lot of transmission in minnesota so it's probably not that big of a deal but we are seeing a new surge and we would anticipate as kids are more packed into classrooms that that would continue we're an east stem school district teaching students to investigate the world scientifically all of the science says that children staff and teachers in public schools should be universally wearing mass to slow and prevent the spread folks of the highly contagious and more harmful delta variant of covet simple measures like universal face coverings hand sanitizer

and a little bit of space when possible lead to dramatically better outcomes with less transmission less sickness and far less time out of school you all have the unique opportunity to be the example to stand up and against people who are very loud and it's going to be hard but ask you to follow the right thing and to follow the science thank you thank you [Applause] and our last speaker is victoria victoria hi my name is victor 5697 west 137th student savage please pardon me i don't have any written remarks and i'm pretty shaken just because of my life experience and my children in savage i'm in the public school district so for me i'm talking about diversity equity and inclusion and i want to thank you for the results that you passed the last

school year so for me as a parent of a five-year-old who has to be told by a white school driver that she cannot have water to have her water bottle jumped in front of her school friends and her white friend to console her and write a letter to tell her that she's sorry about what happened for me is hurtful for me to have a school driver yell at a five-year-old because she's a few minutes late for the bus when she has other friends who are weight and they don't get that and when i call i get told that this driver has been driving for 20 years and no experience we have surgeons i'm a registered nurse who can be has done surgery for 20 years and you can make a mistake maybe it was a

bad day whatever the case may be for my child to be treated equally you know as a registered nurse who treats patients majority caucasian i see them as a human being so ask is that when my child goes to school she sees representation she sees teachers who look like her staff members who look like her um you know the uh cafeteria people who look like her when it's when they're reading books you know she told me black history my mom nobody said anything about black history month for the whole 28 days of the night of february she doesn't see anybody who looks like her the books nobody talks like you know nothing representation so for her to say my husband is caucasian you know he's half conquered so if we talk about you know diversity

but she doesn't say that in school only it's at home and most of her friends like occasion i my habits and caucasian i have no issue it's not about you know how you look like where you come from it's just treat everybody equal when you look at my daughter to assume that when her hand is raised up she doesn't understand what you're saying she um she my kids cannot be they don't do advanced classes because you're assuming that you know when they walk into a class they don't understand for somebody who's had um i passed with 4.0 gp up all my school year you know teachers to assume that because you have an accent um or you know because you don't you know talk like they do or you look like they do that that

means that means less intellect is false i've worked as an ic nurse you know but we'll always assume that you know i'm the nursing assistant when i walk into a room so it's just that assumption and equity for me does not mean that you give us a free pass it doesn't mean that you treat us and that you make exemptions for us equity means that you treat us equally that means fairness it means justice when i walk in a room you treat my child like you treat your child because i guarantee you that was your child coming to school every single day being picked on or raising her hand and not getting you know not picked on to answer their questions or when she's not then picked on to be the line leader you know

not being picked on to you know do other things in class to read a book always on the back of the line when they're taking class photos always in the back of the line you know so it's things like that that make me see you know inclusion include them because if it was your child as a parent as a mom as a dad all of you you would feel sad why is my child being true like this so all i'm asking is treat them like they you know like they should be thank you for listening to me and thank you [Applause] okay thank you to all speakers this evening um with that i will look for a motion to approve the agenda as listed so moved by michael second second bye mary all those in

favor say aye aye aye opposed that passes 7-0 um okay the consent agenda the consent agenda items are considered to be routine in nature and will be enacted in one motion there'll be no separate discussion of these items unless a board member citizen requests on tonight's consent agenda as the financials the check wire transfer disbursement summary the wire transfer eft and ach banking activity the building bond investment reports the monthly wire detail the monthly health and dental wire detail monthly check detail monthly ach detail the approval of the school board minutes from the regular school board meeting july 12th personnel items candidates for employment resignation terminations non-renewals as listed the district retirement of ellen humbert the leaves of absence and the annual contracts of 2021 22 normandale contract and 2021-22 dakota pseo contract do i

have a motion to approve the consent agenda so made by jonathan seconded by enrique all those in favor say aye aye opposed that passes 7-0 there are no gifts this evening so there will not be a resolution for acceptance of gifts and with that is laker pride and thank you for our guests this evening evening it's always wonderful to have a full room when we have an opportunity to celebrate a student good evening um i would like to invite less sonabog and kathy dawson up to talk a little bit about the optimus club and the way that they gift the district with actually a student artist each year and mark's also going to come on up to talk a little bit about his print and to share some more information so with that last i'll

invite you up just move my foot there's the camera come on up guys you can come up that's the camera up there you want to be on camera uh for most of you in the audience i'm just another face but uh for a bunch of years i was the superintendent of the district and so i want to take this opportunity right now to thank terry and my heroes those teachers and all the people that are working in this school district to make sure that they do the best they can under whatever circumstance and i want to tell you why do i know that i have a daughter who teaches art in st louis park she has 300 kids 300 you've heard me right 150 on one rotation 150 on the other the distance learning all

this other stuff for 300 kids so these teachers are under tremendous pressure to do everything they can our administration is i think you've got the best superintendent since me but anyway they are they are really heroes to do this kind of thing and be in this overall menu so my hat's off to you terry and all your staff and then what you do for the kids in our community thank you okay so um we're going to in the end honor this young lad but i got to give you the background so in 19 i think 87 um the school district but the optimist club which was formed about 10 years earlier than that and always was at a short thing to raise money to do this stuff for the kids well about that time guess

what pull tabs came along charitable gambling well we jumped in and jim speicher was our gambling manager and i just want to tell you that um we in that time when it started between now and then we have because we're we're our motto is a friend of youth between then and now we have put 1 million 272 back into the community and all in youth kinds of activities along with part of that is a total of 276 000 and that's for 628 senior students scholarships so that's part of that we are very anxious to make sure that we do everything for the youth in our community and as such one of those things is recognizing not just athletes but the artists as well so this started in 1990 and there was a couple years we

didn't make us a selection but 90 to 21 this is the 30th selection that we have made and if you have the time to walk through the halls afterwards you will see a lot of the previous selections that were made um this started i don't is christy momberg still around no our teacher yes she is oh our teachers at the senior high always had an art show in the spring and we would go up there and we would select a piece from that with christy's help and any of you folks have no but feel free to come up and help us help us select a piece okay uh so it's been really uh a fun thing to do and uh let me see here i think that's a so i'm gonna introduce to you uh

kathy dawson and if you don't know kathy dawson she is about 10th generation prior lake nice [Laughter] so if you want to know what anything that's happened in prior lake in the last hundred years just asked kat we are very fortunate that we had her joined the club and i think she went kicking and screaming but she's our president this year so kathy i'm going to turn it over to you thank you thank you thank you i need the mic oh hi i'm kathy dawson and i'm president of the pride lake savage optimist club and i get to introduce our artist mark lichtenberger mark has always valued drawing as an opportunity to relax and embrace creativity although mark enjoys trying to draw anything animals has been his favorite subject for as long as he can

remember as a senior in the park or the ap studio art class at prior lake high school last year mark created a portfolio that focused on the faces of a dozen different animals thoughtful gorilla which we have right here is the largest and final piece in this artistic investigation in addition to animal theme drawings mark enjoys sketching buildings landscapes and sculpture sculptures using pen and pencil after graduation mark will study architecture at rice university in houston texas everyone for coming and staying um i'll keep it pretty short but um basically this was uh one of the larger pieces that i created um at prior lake high school this year and um on it i just used the gray paper in order to go darker and lighter on the color with the pen and ink and

so i'm using the white the gray and the black i tried to accurately capture the gorilla in its pose that you see and it was one of the pieces that i submitted in my portfolio to the college board so yeah i'm very honored to be uh selected and to have my artwork hang with everybody else's and happy to be here as well so thank you very much [Applause] i have a previous engagement at 75 in prior league [Laughter] wow there goes our comic relief for the night we have no unfinished business this evening and then on to new business and the first item is summer program report including targeted services and special ed and this is a report only and we have our administrators coming up that's a tough act to find out um also

normally this screen is active and i normally just click on something but i see that i'm actually controlling this other screen over here so there we go sorry i apologize right here thanks all right well madame chair dr stallow members of the board thank you for having us this evening to talk for just a very brief moment about our summer programming awesome we did multiple different programs that extended through the summer the one that comes through special education is called extended school year and extended school year is basically what it's what the words are it extends the school year for students who qualify for special education services and it is an iep team decision and teams determine if students qualify based on three different formulas set up by the mde either regression recruitment self-sufficiency or

unique need and then what we do is we have students who come in and we provide those services based on whatever qualifying iep goals and objectives that are on a student's individualized iep so this summer our in-person services were in the month of june we had we were in session june 14th through the 30th we had 32 students in person who attended and we had more students that qualified and parents can choose whether they want to access the services or not we had eight licensed teachers at two different school sites so we had an elementary and we had a secondary site as well and we did not melt it was it actually when i looked at the average temperature in june amazingly enough it was cooler than it was in july or august so on

that note i'll turn it over to chrislynn to talk about july hi everybody um i'm going to talk a little bit about the summer programming called targeted services so targeted services is also what it sounds like it is targeted at students who meet qualifications it is an optional program and we'll start at the high school so for the high school any student in grades 9 through 12 can attend and it's focused on credit recovery so where a student may not have earned credit yet we had both an in-person session that was from june 21st to july 16th and also an independent summer session as well that registration began early all the way back in may and the targeted services for the elementary school is what i'm most excited to talk about because in addition to

teachers and paraprofessionals and a nurse there's also an administrator on duty every day and i got to do that a number of times at some of the different sites and it was a really wonderful thing and so it's as you can see on the screen you know it's designed for students to have some needs met that might not be met in regular school the curriculum is based on the academic standards on minnesota state standards but there's also a focus on building social connections and school routines and just building students confidence as learners in general there are multi-age classrooms there's introduction to new standards that building of community and we focus the summer on some science standards which were approached through inquiry students got to do some fantastic engineering design process work and we also had

a time to focus on math and reading that was really an interdisciplinary approach and students could practice at individual levels in small groups as well as using something called i excel so those science themes were a world in motion for the first two weeks and the second two were engineer it we also partner with kidsco which is run through community education and so that meant students had access to kidsco as well as being part of the targeted services programming so we had 280 students total as i said we had 18 teachers there paraprofessionals we were at four different school sites and that's for rising students going into first through fifth grade we had some really great feedback and highlights um families really liked that they could choose to be part of one session or both

um people even sometimes wanted to come to the second session if we were able to accommodate it we did kids would come home talking about their science experiences during the day and all the fun they'd had with their new friends there's also targeted services at the middle school and that is for students going into grades six through eight uh it's also four weeks long and also uh focused on interdisciplinary learning and this summer the focus is thematically were social studies one was on ancient greece which led into the olympics and the other was travel around the u.s there are other opportunities as well going on this summer for students through community education you may have seen at twin oaks all of the different programming that was available students were involved in food trucks art different

creations i remember cupcakes so really a wide variety of offerings overall that's it thank you so much all right any um questions comments um so one of the things that um caught my ear was well first of all i just want to say this is wonderful most of the programs over the summer is wonderful but i'm sure this year they were especially so given the contrast uh and also the quality of the of the um services um i did want to ask a couple of questions um it was mentioned that in the iep program 32 students but more students qualified and you mentioned some parents obviously uh said no but did we have a number of students in need that we couldn't meet because they're on the lower end of the we made it no

the majority of students probably tend to be more low incidence disability students who participate and qualify for that esy piece and then i also didn't mention that we have a number of students who qualify for special education that also participate in targeted services and so that is for probably more high incident students so that was a bonus and then another question i had was credit recovery um so how does it does that work i mean is it actually making up for the work from the school year or you had also mentioned some of the themes for the middle school is that part of it i i don't i don't quite understand if you could elaborate sure the credit recovery part is just for students uh 9-12 exactly and so they're actually doing work to get

that high school credit that they were unable to earn during the school year okay so is there a is there a pro i mean does it depend on the the the curriculum i mean let's say they needed a math credit or whatever it was whatever they needed that was actually service that's right so if they needed an algebra credit or like the class that they needed credit in was algebra then they were doing algebra work working toward that yep okay thank you thanks so much okay any other questions all right thank you all right uh next up is the budget calendar approval because it's not on the screen i'm just going to have it in front of my computer okay okay yeah we have it in our board i think so this is the budget

calendar it really follows what we've done in the past years consistent with what we've had in the past for our budget as you know tonight we are still working on our audit and i'll talk about that a little bit later from last year this is the time of year we're in in three separate years last year which would be 21 2021 or their current year which is 21 22 and then we're also con working on the levy which is the levy certification for 22.23 so we have three years right now that we're working on this budget calendar will take us to the rest of the year including starting next year's budget process in january we'll do a final budget um for this year based on our enrollment as of october 1 and and what that

enrollment looks for looks at for the rest of the year and then we'll have the board approve a final budget for 21 22 in december along with the levy certification so it's pretty much the same as it's been in the past but we do like to have the board approve this calendar and make sure that we're on the track that they wish to be okay any questions any questions okay pretty straightforward same as we've done do i have a motion to approve the budget calendar as listed so made by mary second okay by enrique all those in favor say aye aye opposed that passes seven zero no i'm sorry we don't take any comments right now all right if you know i'll say after the meeting we can talk after thank you yep uh the

set levy date yes so as part of our levy process the board has to approve a preliminary levy in september and a final levy well is approved at the december board meeting in the past it always has started at seven o'clock this year it will start at six o'clock as part and the board will approve the lobby certification for 22-23 school year in december so the board needs to approve that date and then the county adds that to the levy certified um um that comes to our house to the homeowners yes correct okay and the date requested is monday december 13th 2021 it's part of our regular board meeting yep so okay do i have a motion to set the date um as listed as december 13th 2021-6 so made by mary second second by

enrique any questions on that no i think it's important to note that that's the last possible date we can do it because that's our last board meeting and it has to be done uh before the end of the year so correct correct like we've done pretty much every year right yeah it's the same board meeting that we've done yes right um okay
