All right, it's 7:00. I now call this board meeting to order. Please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Mr. Ravenhorst, would you please take roll? It looks like all members are present. Okay, thank you. Is there any new business to bring before the board? Okay, hearing none, I would seek a motion of approval of the agenda. So moved. Second. I have a motion by Mr. Wells and a second by Mr. Geist. All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. All those in favor, same sign. Motion carries 7-0. Next item on the agenda is recognition of winter activities achievements with Mr. Hughes. Okay. Um

first with the ever the ever challenging spring season upon us, um I want to thank everybody for allowing the uh winter sports individuals to come up and come into and and activities to come in and and be recognized for their state accomplishments. So, first we'll have BPA. So, if the BPA uh individuals can come on up and join us, um that would be great. So, Sartell had 17 uh students compete at the state competition uh in Minneapolis March 5th through 7th. Of those uh 17 uh students that we have, several individuals that are moving on to nationals. Uh first, we need a placement of fifth place. Audrey Byrne placed in advanced desktop publishing. Matthew Waters placed fourth place in the parliamentary procedure concepts. And the uh parliamentary procedures team event with Matthew Waters, Christopher Waters,

Annie Beskar, uh Audrey Byrne, Abigail Linkset, and Anna Hal placed first. This crew right here, along with Mrs. Beskar and Mrs. Morlock, will be uh representing Stewartville in Nashville, Tennessee on May 6th through the 10th uh at the national BPA um uh competition. So, congratulations to all of you. It's not this easy. We got to get some questions. How long have you guys been in BPA? Have you done it I've done it all four years of high school. Okay. All four years as well. Uh just three. I've done four. I've done for three, but I'm in junior. I've done two. Okay. Quickly, what's your favorite part about BPA? Each one of you, quickly. I really like the professional environment that they >> we were going to start on the left. OH, SORRY. I WOULD AGREE

WITH YOU. I WOULD SAY I WOULD SAY LIKE THE APPLICATION. Like I did advanced interview and then parliamentary pro, and I felt those to be really applicable skills in my life. So, I really appreciated that. I think it's super fun to be able to meet a whole bunch of different people from around the areas with some hilarious. Um I've gotten to go to two national competitions before. So, it's been fun to be able to see new places and also uh improve in different areas. Um I think it's really fun to learn how to do all the different events and just like see what see the different things in the business world. I think that it's like the new experiences for me. Just like random things like memories and then just like trying new things. Awesome.

And I love seeing the kids uh put their best effort and try new things. This is the first year they've tried parliamentary procedure and They won. We won at nationals. Awesome. Well, good luck. And off to nationals. Find out are we doing okay with our procedure? Yeah, we're like Maybe we should teach them They're my guys and they're professionals here now. So, we have to like seek recognition and like we stand up and then they're just like it's simulated so we have like three uh abilities that we have to demonstrate. It's like moving the previous question, point of order, a recess. We're really good at recessing. We take fake recesses and talk to each other. There's stuff that we wish we don't have to. We never It's different just because that's part of the competition.

Good luck at nationals. Yes, good luck. Have fun. Thanks everybody. Um you guys actually can maybe dismiss to the Oh, yeah. Unless you want to stay in the sauna. Or watch your other classmates and watch your partner. Uh girls wrestling is next. Come on up. So, we um made school history this year in girls wrestling. Morgan Manning became the first female wrestler to qualify for the state wrestling tournament. So, congratulations to Morgan. She finished the tournament with a one and two record. Um represented Shorewood with the utmost respect, courage, and integrity, everything. Um represented herself on the mat great. Um just ran into a couple pretty tough opponents, but um it was great watching and she was also named the KWAL TV athlete of the week for February 26th, so congratulations to Morgan and coach

Colrain. And Morgan, this was your how many years in wrestling? Year and a half? Yes. So that's very, very impressive. Yes, it I think that It needs to be out there, too. >> What was the question? How many years she's been in wrestling? A year and a half? Well, good for you. And to make it to state, that's so impressive. Yeah. What uh grade are you in? I'm a junior. You're a junior. I got one more year. I'll be up on the podium. There you go. I think she is. I know. I love it. Congratulations on being the first. Yes, congratulations. And if I'm not mistaken, Morgan wrestled actually up Yeah. >> weight classes than what she actually weighed, so um Weighed in She could have been down a weight Yeah, I was a pound

off from the lowest weight you could possibly be. But I told her from right away, I'm like, "No, you need to do here for the shot." Hey, she went down once and it's all right and then did some computing and they figured, "Oh, this is the best bet." You need to computer what Coach knows. Yeah, so She was she was awesome. She was great fun to watch. Congratulations. Yes, you were fun to watch. How was guys? Congratulations. And last but not least, we'll have the girls basketball. Come on, Audrey. Represent for the wildcats. Represent for everybody. As far as I know, Audrey is on way. There's a couple on the way. They'll probably show up when they get >> Okay, so that means I got to either take my time or I have to Or

We could pause. I have You can take a recess. We can do items seven and eight cuz they're relatively quick and that way As far as I know, they said they were on their way. Okay. All right, we'll give them a few That's That's fine if you guys We'll give them a few more minutes. All right, we'll circle back to item six. We'll go down to item seven, which is consent agenda items A through E. Is there any item any board member would like removed and discussed separately? Okay, hearing none, I would seek a motion. So moved. I have a motion by Ms. Cook and a second by Mr. Lowman. All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Opposed, same sign. Motion carries 7-0. Next item on the agenda is to consider and adopt

the resolution of donations and there was Excuse me, one donation of cash for $250 from the Westerville Morning Lions and Advanced Chiropractic towards the diaper drive. So, as always, we appreciate those donations when they come in. So, this is a resolution, but I would need a motion first. So moved. Second. I have a motion by Mr. Geist and a second by Mr. Welch. Ms. Cook? Aye. Mr. Geist? >> Aye. Ms. Keeper? Aye. Mr. Lowman? Aye. Mr. Ravenhorst? Aye. Mr. Welch? Aye. Aye for myself. Resolution carries 7-0 nay and zero absent. Uh we'll just keep moving on to item nine, which is to consider an improvement Miss Vester's trip for BPA to go to Nashville. Which they're already ready to go for, so It'd be awkward if we didn't approve >> heard We just honored them

for their winter activity achievements. Um Maybe they need to state their case by the Yeah, she's already filled out all of the paperwork. Um so it would just need board approval. Um since it's an annual trip, we didn't ask Miss Vester to speak, um but if there are any questions you can ask her, otherwise I would seek a motion. So moved. Second. I have a motion by Miss Cook and a second by Mr. Geist. All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Aye. Opposed, same sign. Motion carries 7-0. Good luck again to the team. Look forward to hearing how they do. Um You want me to keep moving? We're going to get into budget. Okay. Hey, now we're going to get into budget alignments. So, we're going to go down to 12 A three,

effective and efficient operations. Item A is to review the budget alignment. Um Joe, is there any way that you could click on that for us, please? The 12 A, budget alignments. We did hold a special meeting last week that was open um to the public um where we reviewed these, um but we'll just go through them again um as a board before we vote. Tier one is um with some staffing attrition and replacements, um reducing some overloads, and you can see with hiring a FACS teacher, adding that back in um what the difference would be. Um programming would be curriculum, um staff development, and then um you can come on in. Can I Can I Can I Can you sign Yes, girls. We're going to go through this and then we'll circle back to you.

Um uh getting rid of some subscriptions that um staff doesn't use as much. And then taking some money from the assigned. And then under operations, we have the turf tank where Josh and his team feels like they can save some money on that. Um and then fund two taking some money and fund four. If you don't know, fund two is food service, fund four is community ed. And then taking the open enrollment kids and increasing that to $2 a day to ride rather than a dollar, which it was last year. So, tier one is 350,000. Um next page would be tier two, which is everything under tier one except the additions to that are in um we are going to correct the verbage of this, but it would be grades 9 through 12. Activity fees

would be increasing by $10. Right now it's 140, it would go to 150. And then um anything else that falls under that would be going up by $10. The summer weight program and then um taking some more money from the assigned brings tier two tier total up 50 thousand dollars. So, then with you if you do tier one and tier two together, that's 400,000. And then if we add in tier three if needed, we could take 50 thousand dollars um from the assigned which would make tier three's total uh 450,000. The entire DLT team along with multiple other staff members worked together on creating these tiers for the board to discuss um as a team so we could try and do it the the alignment for the district possible. And then does the board have

anything else to add or any questions? I think a a good reminder would be that we tasked the admin team to come up with the three options starting at 350 and then two more 400 450. So that's the assignment we gave and and this what they did for us. And also the reminder that that 350 was going to keep us just right in that threshold of our fund balance and our policy of our fund balance policy and we went a little bit further and have a little bit more comfort in there. Um and then just the note too cuz we talked about this last week again at that at our other open meeting about this that the middle school English replacement is the difference in anticipation and difference in salary not a reduction in that

area. Um we talked about that last week. We just wanted to put it out there too um because if you look at it, you might think oh we're getting rid of a teacher but um you're not. That's just the replacement um uh of a retire in that position. So Right. And we want to make sure >> for replacement of anticipating a lower salary. Incoming salary for a higher Yes. Yeah, we just didn't want the public to think that class sizes were going to be going up or anything like that and like we were getting rid of a class. It's just a replacement. So um with that said with the three tiers the board would be voting um the next item. This was just reviewing it. So are there any other questions or discussion? Okay. Hearing

none, I'll go on to item B where we vote um on the alignment tier one, two, or three for the 2026-2027 school year. And please when you're making the motion, whoever makes the first motion, make sure you state what tier and what dollar amount before the it's seconded. So, I would seek a motion of the tier and dollar amount the board would like to go with. I'll make a motion to uh accept tier three for $450,000 for our budgetary alignments. Second. Okay, I have a motion by Mr. Welch and a second by Ms. Keeper. All those in favor signify I just want to add one thing before we vote. Just so the public knows that in tier two and tier three, there is those transfers via signed balance. Um those may not be needed. But

he can use them Dan can use them if he needed to. We just thought that that was a much safer way than doing something permanent that we may have to get back. With whether it be a position or something else. This is something that he can access if he has to. So, it may not be at $450,000, but it won't go over $450,000. The amount. It also writes to do It also writes to make those transfers if he needs to. And by if we approve the two three, it means tier one, tier two, and tier three. >> Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Just clarify that they all three would be approved. Yeah. In that vote. Yes. Perfect. Thank you everyone. For the discussion and the clarification. So, I have a motion by Mr. Welch and a second

by Ms. Keeper. All those in favor signify by saying I. I. I. Opposed same sign. Motion carries 7-0. Okay, before I go on, we'll go back up to the winter activity achievements and bring up the girls basketball team with Mr. Hughes. Thank you all for allowing that brief recess. We have a couple more players with us now that we're going to represent the team, but what a phenomenal season these girls had this season for basketball. They finished their HBL season at a 14-0 record, conference champs. They beat Byron in the section 1 AAA championship game to earn their fourth state fourth straight state AAA state. And at the state tournament, they beat Wilmer in the quarterfinals. And went on to beat Cretin-Derham Hall in the semifinals before facing Benilde-St. Margaret in the finals, which they

ended up losing that game 75-63. Coach Tyge was named the HBL Girls Basketball Coach of the Year. He was also named the Section 1 AAA Coach of the Year, and Coach Jessica Schindelar was named the Section 1 AAA Assistant Coach of the Year. As far as some individual recognition of some players, Audrey Schindelar is going to be named in several of these, but obviously everybody else will be there's others as well. So, Audrey, give a little hand wave, Audrey, okay? Audrey was named the HBL Player of the Year. Audrey, Addie, Addie, Jacey Rath, and Dani Schindelar were named HBL All-Conference. Audrey Schindelar was named to the Star Tribune All-Minnesota Girls Basketball Team featuring the top 25 players in the state. Audrey Schindelar was also named a finalist for Miss Minnesota Basketball Award. Audrey Schindelar, Dani

Schindelar, and Jacey Rath were named to the state tournament all-tournament team. Audrey Schindelar and Jacey Rath were named to the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-Star team, which was also coached by Coach Tiege this past weekend. How did it go? It was good. The girls won 105 to 103, so Oh. Good one. Awesome. It's a little different when you don't get a scout and game plan and stuff. Um Audrey Schindler and JC Rafferty were chosen to play in the All-Star game um uh this weekend or this past weekend where Coach Tiege um uh coached uh Audrey Byrne Audrey Byrne Wave Audrey. There you go. Uh Annie Ruffridge uh Audrey Schindler and JC Rafferty were named to the Academic All-State team. Audrey Schindler is the girls' all-time scoring leader in Stewartville with 2,391 points. So, congratulations

on a wonderful season, coach and ladies. THANK YOU. QUESTIONS? WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS AFTER GRADUATION? I'm going to the University of St. Thomas majoring in mechanical engineering. I'm going to St. Olaf College to play basketball major in social work and Spanish minor in family studies. Um I'm going to South Dakota State for basketball and I'm undecided as right now. What's the best part of the season? Um state and it's always a lot of fun. Yeah, going to like Great Wolf Lodge. And honestly just like the whole team. It was just a lot of fun to be around everybody. Just the Just the people. Yeah. You were very fun to watch. I do think it's very commendable as well um for Audra and what she did this season. So, game against Lake City, Audra uh blew

her ACL. So, couldn't continue with the with the with the game playing in games. She did have surgery and stuff like that, but she was around all the time. Helped uh uh Coach Tykie and Coach Schindler with a lot of things in practices and our games. So, um for that, I think she uh deserves a little credit as well um that she stuck around and that's important that she's with her teammates and and got to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Go ahead. No, I was just going to say congratulations to you all. Yeah, I I just want to add to like obviously huge part of not only what these girls did within our community, but our senior class in particular like they leave behind a lot of really high expectations for our program. I

mean, last night we just finished up our season with our banquet and just from their freshman year until now seniors, they have accumulated over 100 wins, three conference titles, four section titles, three top three finishes at the state tournament. So, there's a lot of great accomplishments that they did as a team and a lot of that comes from that hard work that they always put in. So, appreciate them. Appreciate you guys in the community support of them and us because it means a lot. So, thank you guys for everything that you do for us to give us the opportunity to celebrate. Thank you. Congratulations. Thank you. YOU GUYS can all go. You guys can leave this sauna now. Or you can stay. Or you can stay. Thank you guys. Appreciate it. Yeah, you know where

to go if you need to sweat. Who's sweating some weight? I don't know. Sometimes that room can be cranked up pretty high and especially with with his workouts, I don't know. Thank you all. Have a great night. They don't come from there in this hot weather. No. Nope. No pants and sweaters. Sweatshirts and sweatpants. Um next item on the agenda is 12c, review the contracts and working agreements, the settlement clo- settlement costing summary. Um sorry, Joe. I'm going to ask you to click on one more thing. Or just You know what? Yeah. We're just um this is the costing summary which we've been seeing throughout all of the contracts that we have um settled, and now we're just adding the teachers in um as they voted and um decided and agreed with their contract. So,

now you can just see the costing summary. Um again, just pointing out everyone was under seven. Um and you can see the effects of all of them there now that the teachers are added in. So, it's not a vote or anything. It's just so that um everyone can see now with them everyone's been ratified. Yep. Well, now we're voting next. We're voting next on item D is to consider and approve the Stillwater United Educators agreement. So, I would seek a motion for that. I have a motion by Mr. Geist and a second by Was that you? Yeah, Mr. Lauman. Mr. Lauman. All those in favor signify by saying I. I. All those in favor sign. And I abstain. My wife is teacher, so. Yep. So, that passes six zero nay and one abstain. Thank you

for that. Um next is E, consider and approve the administrative recommendations for the probationary teacher renewal. And that list Yeah, you can if you want. That That list was attached. So, these are teachers that aren't yet tenured. They're just probationary teachers coming back. So this would be a vote. Is there any questions or discussions? Okay, hearing none I would seek a motion. So moved. Second. I have a motion by Mr. Geist and a second by Ms. Cook. All those in favor signify by saying I. I. >> I. Opposed same sign. Motion carries.
