We'll call three. >> All right, we are live. >> Okay, it's 5:33 in the secondary school media center and we will start with the pledge of allegiance. >> I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> All right, roll call. Vincent. uh here. >> Olrich >> here. >> Sour >> here. >> Sandstead >> here. >> Porter >> here. >> Angross >> here. >> And tonight we do not have any public comment. So we'll move into the agenda. Um are there any additions or corrections? >> Do we want to move? Um >> should do we lead just off of the consent since there's going to be some discussion. Technically consent should just be

>> should be >> more a vote. So, I would recommend that we move that down to >> 6.3. >> Sure. Yep. >> So, we move take item 5.1.1.2.1. Get all those ones in there. >> That's going to just be 6.3. We're going to simplify that >> actually. I see. Because there's no action on there's nothing on 6.2. So, we'll just move it to 6.2. >> Oh, it's 6.2. Okay. So, >> yeah, cuz that's the first reading of those policies, so there wouldn't be any. Okay. So, that'll be 6.2. Any other additions or corrections? Then I would look for a motion to adopt the agenda. So move >> and a second. I'll roll call vote will be Gross. >> Yes. >> Porter, >> yes. >> Sandstead, >> yes. >> Sour, >> yes. >> I'll be a

yes. Olrich, >> yes. >> And Vincent, >> yes. >> All right. And we will move in. Um, we don't have any committee reports for this evening. Um, anything you need to put in there, Mr. Brown, though? >> No, I don't have anything there. >> All right, then we'll go right to our administrative reports and we'll move right on to anything you want to put in for the uh principal reports. >> I think they're all kind of listed there. Um, they're verbal reports and uh are there written reports? Uh, so as you see, Miss Hendricks had several things written there. February. I guess one of the highlights is going to be I love to read month uh coming up here and uh we've got some um some professional development this upcoming Friday here February 6th with

our early out and you'll see the pieces there that she has identified that they'll be working through there. Also recognized our pairs at the end of February with the pair professional recognition week. So that's kind of what she has in her report. >> Looks like Mr. Woods is there as well. Congratulations to Mr. Wood and his family and his new addition. Um, anything else that we >> I think they're again just getting all the schedules addressed and and things ready to go for second semester. So, they're working on that. Uh, during our January professional development day, our staff at the secondary level all did the catalyst training and that training really is more of a nonverbal form of discipline. Um, so usually when you're working with students, you're going to try to deescalate those pieces.

And oftentimes fewer words is a better way to to do that. And then you'll see that the BPA team uh is going to state. So they got seven students doing that piece there. So we're working through some of those details. And then congratulations to the one act uh cast and crew. They got second place at subsections. And then my understanding is they got fifth place over in Wadina last Saturday. So, um, some good things going on in our theater department and parent teacher conferences scheduled for next, um, Monday and Thursday already. >> All right, that brings us to activities, Mr. Fosling. >> All right, let's see here. Nothing really has changed in my report. I didn't submit until Monday. So, girls wrestling sub sections are this weekend in Shakip because that's a nice close drive

for us. Uh team sections for the boys is next Friday at Bertha and individual sections is the 20th of Wadina. Uh please note if there are any qualifiers whether that's team or individual the state wrestling tournament has expanded an additional half day this year. So it will now start in the afternoon of W or Wednesday that afternoon on the 25th. So kind of cool to see that that expanding for the girls piece and for the doubly limb piece. I think that's coming. >> What will be on Wednesday then? >> You know, I I should know the schedule being on the board. However, I thought it >> I don't know. I think it is posted out there. >> Okay. >> So, I think either way, um teams will have to arrive there either super early Wednesday

morning or Tuesday night. So, >> that's all to be determined, just how things all shake out. But again, if that's of interest, please note the tournament does begin on Wednesday. >> Sure. Uh, girls playoffs, uh, the those will be seated the 21st of February. First round's either the 23rd or the 25th. Boys playoffs will be seated March 2nd and or excuse me, seated the 28th and start either March 2nd or March 5th. Another note in that tournament as well, there's typically been like a super Saturday where it's been at a neutral site where there have been two games. Uh, this year that round is at high seed. So, if you're in the top four, you don't go to a neutral site. You host on that Saturday. >> So, >> and I'll be honest, where we're

at in either one, I haven't looked. And that's that's typical of me because at this time of year, things are moving a lot. >> So, I try not to project and or prognosticate what's going to what's going to happen when CDs come out. So, >> as I say, you're scheduling 130 games. It's really struggling. >> Well, we're we're getting creative. Mother Nature has kind of threw us a loop here. So, >> tell you what, it was definitely an interesting environment to have >> entire school watching a game. We may want to look into >> just some pieces we have to walk through before we get there. >> Yeah. >> Um I I did talk to the Brand Evansville AD and he had shared too that he had uh reviewed with the students kind of what

expectations are, how this is going to look and and that's not a bad idea either because for some kids they don't ever get to a >> get to do it. Yeah. >> So, so yeah, something that down the road I I think it is worth at least a look into how we how we can make it work. And it's not so much the game part, it's the logistics before game given where our gym is and how you get there and navigate through different parts of our building to get there. So, >> definitely not off the radar, just something we have to look at. >> No, definitely neat. And it would be fun to have our short pep fest for an entire game to see how that uh how that shakes out because it was all

prek uh 12 and plus parents might be a little tricky. >> Yeah. >> Um but >> they did it well. I mean and there that's definitely a smaller environment too. So it was definitely interesting. So >> yeah. >> U moving forward there has been two spring coaching positions uh that have been posted. Nothing has come my way as of yet for those positions. And just like always, we're always looking for umpires. So if you know anybody that can umpire, we will take them. Couple upcoming events uh here. Uh myself, I do have a board meeting tomorrow uh down at league office, so I'll leave town here quite early. The region 6A banquet um is next Wednesday at Thumper Pond. The 56 choir concert, remember we made an adjustment there, uh to help men at Christmas

time, um that will be next Thursday at 11:00 a.m. And again, that is uh only the choir, not band. band did perform their uh concert in December. I just spoke to Mr. Wallace earlier talking about large group band. That large group band contest is at Morris on February 25th. And hey, March is coming at two. The sixth grade class trip to Bportage is March 4th through the 6th. So that's what I have in my report. All right. Any questions or comments from Mr. Fosene? Just a side note, I believe I will be at the deep portage trip and that is a board meeting. The fourth I believe is a board meeting. So >> I might be gone too. >> I don't know what the uh >> Kayla might be you. >> Uhhuh. So Mr. Porter

>> um >> back up. >> Yeah. >> News is I'm going to actually probably be there too. So you guys just record it. So >> yeah. >> Wow. Yeah. So anyway, so we'll maybe have to look at that one and and see how that goes. But >> maybe if I'm not live. >> Okay. >> Who knows? >> If I may ask, has there been any comments directed to you as a board about online tickets at all or anything? Have you guys heard anything? >> It seems to have gone. I mean, we get maybe one or two people a night that >> but it seems to be going just fine. So, >> but they can purchase right at the door, >> just not with cash. >> I I did have one gentleman one night throw a

big stink and then eventually goes, "Fine, here's my card." Like I said, you couldn't have done this from the start. >> Yeah. >> You know, so and and our ticket people and now if I could give props to Crystal and Shane Olsen, they've they're in the lead of of organizing people and they've covered a lot of games. And I I refer to Shane as the pros bro because he knows that system inside and out. So, it's been good. Been good. >> That's who I'll call then cuz I got to I got to be here at 2:15, I think, for a game. >> Oh, is that next Friday? >> Yeah. >> I won't be here if you really want to know. >> Shoot. So, >> well, I'm going to put >> Just don't tell Mr. Wood.

I'm sure he's watching me and that he's supervising a double header that day instead of one game. >> He'll find out when he gets back to the building. >> All right. >> So, all right. Thank you. >> Thank you. All right. Then that moves us into community ed. Mr. Ryan. All right, steam continues to be a big hit at both North and South. South just has consistent kids. North has a lot of numbers that are going to those. Uh co-ed volleyball and Thursday night skiing have one more month until we start to wrap those up. Uh play and learn is just uh at North it is just they go into the preschool classroom. at South they Holly Nadwick decided to do a series where they come for an hour and a half every Tuesday and

the whole dis anyone from the district zero to five can go to that they can sign up for it. Uh they do have to purchase that one though. Um the 55 plus class is finally on the schedule for Wednesday, April 29th from 5 to 9. Driver's education is on the schedule for July 6th through the 17th. Uh how they're going to do it is they're going to let all WCA students on it first. If the class doesn't fill up, then uh neighboring districts can send kids too. And they agreed to do the same thing is if they don't fill up, then WCA students can head over to their schools. Uh youth basketball and wrestling continues to be a success. And Erica Bordon is hosting a theater production the week of March 15th to the 21st.

Uh they'll just be here for a week. They have two performances on Friday and Saturday. And it's a cool production because they let anyone from first to 12th grade sign up for it. So it really gets the whole school. They first graders can uh um bond with 12th graders and it should be a pretty good experience for those kids. So uh that is all I have. All right. Any questions or comments for Mr. Ryan? Then we will move into Good thing you're up here Kevin. uh technology coordinator report, Mr. McNamera. >> Thanks, Kevin. >> Um so this is kind of that time of the year where things are just being juggled. We are um putting in our rate for next year. So is the federal funding we get through the FCC based off of our

free and reduced population. Covers our internet connection, the fiber lease we have between all three buildings. We lease 21 miles of fiber through runstone. Um it also covers a lot of our network equipment, firewall, those pieces. We get 70% discount. So without that, it would be very difficult to operate. Um on top of that, we are also looking at our device refresh. Reminder, every year we refresh. We purchase new devices for our fifth grade students who then use them through 8th grade and then purchase new devices in 9th grade and they use them through their senior year. So, it puts us on a four-year rotation, which is about average. Um, there's quite a few schools who have moved to a three-year rotation, but that's more for leasing than it is for the way we do

it when we purchase it with accidental damage protection. Um, because that covers it for four years. So, it just kind of works out well for us. Um, we also have testing that is starting. We are kind of right on the edge of getting into our English language learner testing which will happen by the end of this month. We have ACT testing for our juniors. Remember, we offer it for free to all juniors. That is the window for that is March 10th through the 20th. Our um high school counselors are handling the communication with that. So they're getting out information. We're going to offer four different opt options for the students to take it during that time. So hopefully everybody who wants to get it is able to come in and take it. Um then we

have MCAs, everybody's favorite. Uh one of the things we're looking at is Stacy pushed out some MCA resources to our teachers today. Um it kind of helps the teachers prepare just showing the kids what the test will look like, the operation of it, some of those pieces. Um simply because while we don't ever want to teach to a test, it's important that the kids know how to take the test, how to use the tools that are available to them on the test and what types of questions they are so we can actually get a good idea of what their knowledge base is and not just do they know how to take the test or not. So, >> all sorts of fun stuff. >> All right. Any questions for Mr. McNamera? >> Thank you. That brings

us to buildings and grounds. Mr. Norenberg, >> good evening. Um, I don't have a lot more for my report than what you got uh that I signed up or sent in. Um, the other part of that is is it's getting to that time. Like we said, March is right around the corner and next thing you know, we're going to have track, softball, baseball, golf. Everybody's going to be roing hallways if they can't get outside. So, we're just starting to work through uh equipment for that. Looking at lawnmowers, the sprayers, things like that, just to make sure we've got all the equipment, everything we need so we can go through those. And I'm not going to talk anymore. >> I'll answer questions, but don't make >> No questions for Mr. Norberg. >> Everybody's got one, right?

Do we want to set up a time for next month's committee meeting pro? Well, no, because Darren's not going to be here. So, we'll find another time. We talked about that buildings and grounds kind of on a quarterly basis. So, we'll wait there on that piece um to get that scheduled so we can get something out there. >> Okay. More to follow. All right. Thank you. Uh that brings us to you, Mr. Brown. Okay, student enrollment. Um, so if you look at our February 4th data, we are up uh five students uh since January 5th. So that's always a positive sign. So our total number in K12 is 693. And then if you add in our uh preschool programs, it puts us to 774 students. So we're maintaining our numbers as we move forward. And

we did do some number research. And I've got to thank Holly Nadwick and Tony and Danielle for doing a lot of work on the census. So, we've got some good numbers all the way down to um birth. Uh kind of where our numbers will sit here as we look for the next several years um on our school planning and and things like that. The Minnesota student survey, we had a group in here earlier this week uh that included representatives from Wester, so I think it would have been Monday um Monday afternoon. Yeah, Monday afternoon, Western Prairie representatives, law enforcement, uh, county commissioner, and then staff and administration heard some of the results from Western Prairie of the survey. They didn't go through every question, but just had some highlights there to look at of and

I think one of the positives was remember Kari had talked I think that after the last survey that some of our youth didn't feel like they were being heard or listened to or they talked about that community center and stuff like that where they came in with that group. those numbers have really improved and so I think K's work and as well as the work of others has really helped to make a difference there. Um still looking at some pieces with technology that was one of the other questions of you know how much time or do you feel like you're spending too much time on technology is that impacting school work um everything is uh it also included some information on suicide mental health and things like that. So that group will take that information

see what next steps remember that information also helps them to write grants. It doesn't just it doesn't necessarily generate revenue just because of our students taking the Minnesota student survey but they can identify to say hey it looks like vaping seems to be an issue. So what programs what grants can we write to address that? So good work to that group for those pieces and and I think again the most important voice was we had three students that attended that meeting and I'm always impressed about the insight and the information that they can share uh to give us some good good learning and things like that. User group meetings we did meet um um with our staff last Friday and I thought that was my hearing aid ringing but it's not. It's just the fire

alarm. Um but the user group meetings met on Friday and um we had two groups, one from the elementary schools and one from the secondary school. So four staff from each particular group that um met and were able to give information back to Witsth. So they uh showed the kind of the concept that was drafted after the um uh community task force meetings to look at class sizes, you know, classroom spaces, ancillary spaces. Were there spaces that we didn't include that were forgotten about? Um I think the gym was talked about somewhat as well to how does this kind of look? How does it feel? What are some pieces that you need within your own classrooms and things like that? what are some of those important pieces? The indoor play space was talked about, location

of bathrooms, what type of bathrooms would you like to see and things like that. So, I think there was some good feedback. The group shared some real good information. Chad was part of it. Um, Mr. Fosane wasn't able to make it that day, but he'll definitely be able to share some insight there. The biggest thing for our staff, and we want to make this very clear, is that's not the final meeting. We still have to get the project um passed. And so after that, they'll meet again to say, "Hey, let's talk furniture. Let's talk these finishes and things like that." Um, so that's not there yet. So people haven't been left out of those pieces. Just kind of saying, "Hey, what does a classroom size need to look like for square footage? You know, do

you want your bathroom inside the kindergarten room, outside of the kindergarten room, preschool? Where do you want those bathrooms?" To kind of get some of that information that way as we move forward. Some pieces that I gleaned really from the group. two pieces that I thought they shared that were very important. One um was to make sure or that they liked the concept that the elementary was really separate from the secondary and that's been a concern I think in in some of the votes and stuff like that. So they do have the doors that separate and really going all the way up to the district office stays as an elementary. So it would really go back to a K6. Now the 56 would be on this side of those doors, but the prek through fourth

grade would be to the north side of the doors that could be separated. They said, "Yep, we could even put key fobs on there." So if a student does, you know, maybe take off from a classroom, they would not have access to come this way. You would have to have access going out uh due to egress. You can't block egress and things there. So the the indoor play space is still a popular item, but the concern was, hey, if that's right here, is that going to be noisy with the office? So it was some of those small conversations that way. The other piece too that I thought was very valuable from a few staff that were there um especially in the elementary side was we cannot forget to honor our past. And so they said

there really needs to be some key components there that are brought in from our past as we move to the future. And so I thought that was pretty important there. And I know other schools have done that through different ways and and one of the people said, "Yep, no, those yearbook pages that are at Kensington, we've got to save those." Yeah, we're not getting rid of those. So, we would find ways to to save those and honor those pieces. And so, I thought that was um some good information that they shared as as well and and just realize, yep, these are some of the efficiencies that we need to look at. And uh so I think they've got some great ideas that Witsat's going to go back to the drawing board, bring those pieces back.

They're working with Krauss Anderson to say, you know, are our cost estimates aligning with what Krauss Anderson is seeing out in the field, and they'll be bringing back that information here fairly soon. Um the 26 27 school calendar, we have more room for discussion uh later on, but we did have our committee, they met um last week on Thursday. We discussed really a pre-Labor Day calendar and a post Labor Day calendar were the two options that were really kind of looked at. Again, just reassuring our staff that this is going to go out. So, as a board, you're going to look at in case you have any concerns, things like that. It'll go out to our staff. They'll be able to vote on their preference and then we'll bring it back to the February 18th

board meeting. Like I said, I'll pull it up on the computer screen so you get an opportunity to to look at those two calendar options. We don't have anything designed yet for early outs, late starts. There was talk about going to late starts um just to hopefully better accommodate some schedules and making sure that we have more opportunity for everybody to be here for our PD days. I know the one question that we're receiving quite a bit of um uh request on is still the current year schedule of that makeup day. We have January 16th as a day off from school and so some families are trying to plan. Right now, according to our calendar, it's Monday, April 6th. So, I would suggest that we probably take formal action at that next board meeting to

to get that taken care of, however the board wants to handle that piece. Um, because yeah, some families. So, we may just put a tentative piece out there or whatever the board thinks is appropriate to say right now until official actions taken that we're looking at that Monday. That's the Monday after Easter for the current. So, now I'm jumping between calendars. So for the current calendar year when we had Friday the 16th off that day um we need to make that day up there. So we'll have that piece there and then our PLC's the professional learning communities we will um end our first round with our secondary staff. So they've had this will be their fourth meeting that they've had. We'll sit down and the plan is really for that first hour they're going to

kind of summarize their work, what they've either looked at as an issue, what they've investigated, interventions they put in place. Uh several three of our groups actually did the book study on um anxious generation. So they're going to come back to say they'll finalize the book piece, get together as a group, and then possibly come up with some recommendations for the board to consider when it comes to cell phone policy and usage in our building for the following school year. And then the other groups, we had the group on attendance, you know, how could we improve attendance? So they've got some recommendations. They've looked at different pieces also our student engagement students that how many students are engaged in different activities. Are there activities that were maybe missing that could garner more student interest? So

they'll all be bringing that back in the second half hour or the second hour sharing their learning with the rest of the secondary staff. And then from there we will determine what our PLC groups will look like for the remainder of the school year. So for the March, April, May looking at two book studies there. one on climate and culture and the other one on um be a pirate and that's really an acronym for uh different things you can do uh to be a great teacher and so they'll be working through that. I think some other pieces that we'll probably that I'll encourage would be looking at some of those systems that we have in place that maybe need to be evaluated um and I know some of those things we talked about earlier today

but um in our in our um meet and confer some of those may go through leadership team but really kind of looking at a few of those items. You know I say e-learning is probably a piece that we need to evaluate but unfortunately that doesn't include our elementary staff because they're doing other learning. they're doing their own letters and stuff. So, we'll have to find another opportunity for them to to discuss that. I think again more student engagement pieces could probably be included um in those pieces and and maybe I think another big one is all the activities that we have going on in school. How does that impact our attendance? There's been some concern now, hey, Ren's great, REN team's great. We've got these great things going on, but it's just another hour where

kids are out of class and now I'm trying to figure out my curriculum. So, I think we need to sit down as a secondary school staff to identify all these great things that are going on, but what do we find is reasonable times to be out of the building as well. So, they'll be coming back with some different pieces there. Um, too, then you'll just see um the Midwest special ed co-op meeting February 6th, parent teacher conferences the 9th and that's actually it's early out on February 6th, parent teacher conferences the 9th and 12th, teacher comp day on that 13th, and then the schoolboard regular meeting on the 18th. All right. Any questions for Mr. Brammo? Thank you, Mr. Brao. That moves us into our consent agenda. We have one item then on the consent

agenda would be the hiring of Aon Holmes custodian. Any questions on that? I'll look for a motion to adopt the consent agenda >> and a second. Uh, roll call vote. Mr. Porter, >> yes. >> Sanstead, >> yes. >> Sour, >> yes. >> Alia, yes. Olrich, >> yes. >> Vincent, >> yes. >> And Gross, >> yes. >> All right. Consent agenda passes. That brings us into our new business. Uh item 6.1 is the first reading of the following policies with statutory and recommended changes from MSBA. Policy 615 testing accommodations, modifications, and exemptions for IEPs. Um section 504 plans and leap leap students. Uh policy 616, school district system accountability. Policy 618, assessment of student achievement, and policy 619, staff development for standards. Are there anything you want to highlight on those, Mr. Brown, though? No, there

wasn't anything real significant in any of those policies of any changes. A lot of those we've reviewed um when MSBA does their after the legislative session. So, there's nothing there that sticks out that I would say needs to be brought to your immediate attention. >> All right. Then that was the first reading. So there's no action there. That brings us to 6.2. And this would be the leave request by Miss Dwey. Um you want to give some >> Sure. Yep. So again, remember, so she did submit a formal request for a five-year leave. It really amounts to finishing out this year and the next four years um of leave requesting that the district pay her uh portion of the district's contribution for TRA uh which she would meet that qualification there as well. Um as

kind of noted too the fact that she would like to continue coaching while on leave. TR does say that that is allowable. um you just can't teach um in another district or in the current district because that doubles up your your service credit time, but you can substitute teach, which she has interest in, as well as um continue as the the golf coach. And we're already this close to the the golf season this year. So, I think that seems to be, you know, appropriate there. Um, TRA does allow for a 3 to fiveyear leave. That is set in statute uh for teachers to request that. There's been some historical uh uh perspective on that as well for other teachers that have taken those leaves. I would say the most recent has been the only time

that we've seen the change now on the TRA contribution. Prior leaves did not um typically include the the TRA contribution on the district side. I know there was also some concern about the fact that you know if they want to return now we have that person that's in the position. Remember all those contributions would need to be returned to the district with interest. And so that is one of the the caveats there that probably needs to be uh brought to your attention as well as that yep they do get those contributions but in year four if she would elect to come back that would all have to be paid back and it needs to be paid back within 90 days. So, it would be a significant reimbursement to to the district there. We do um

there is a potential long-term substitute uh candidate who is licensed in uh physical education as well as um uh would be able to meet those qualifications there that we would need. We don't need to post because it really is just filling as a long-term sub till the end of the year. and they are uh to my understanding available immediately and so that would be something that we could fill. So again, would not have a negative impact on our students at this point because we would have a licensed teacher um ready to fill that position. And with that current where the wage piece would be, there would be some savings to the district. And I think my immediate look um at that would be roughly $50,000 over the period of from where we're at finishing this

year to the next four years. um also offers some flexibility to the district as we move down the road as we continue to look at right sizing would allow some flexibility there too if if necessary questions comments you know one topic the the coaching piece has not did we have a coach previous that was not allowed or did she just choose not to coach while on leave? >> Um we have had an individual that has been told in the past that when they were on leave they were not allowed to coach. Yes. >> Okay. So >> a different sport. >> Right. Right. Right. That scenario >> and not an official 3 to 5 year extended leave. Right. It was just a one-year voluntary. Yep. >> So that just may be one as we look forward.

not this specific, but that might be one piece that we have to address would be is that something we allow if you're on leave, are you on leave or are you going to be, you know, how's that work? So anyway, um any other questions, comments about this leave request that we have a in front of us? And I'll look for a motion. Move. I'll second it. >> We'll take a roll call. Any other discussion? We'll take a roll call vote. Uh Sanstead, >> yes. >> Sour, >> yes. >> Albia, yes. Olrich, >> yes. >> Vincent, >> yes. >> Gross, >> yes. >> And Porter, >> yes. >> Believe is passed. That brings us to discussion items. uh 2026 27 school calendar. So they're both on the screen here. I >> And are you sharing with

Claire? Just >> Yep. I did email Claire. Did you see that email come through with the calendar? >> Yes, I did. >> Okay. So this is calendar option A and this is the pre-LOR day start. Our calendar, our contract requires 171 student contact days and 182 staff days. So if you see the numbers off to the right there, you're going to see the 05 2110 280. That's the student contact days followed by the number of staff days. So staff days are in yellow. Um that would be our very first week for staff to return. That's going to be our Morris collaborative day, our district-wide meeting, early entrance conferences. We would start school on uh September 1st, go the entire week, that very first week. Labor Day would be the 7th. Um so then it would

be a 4 day week, a 4-day week, and then into the regular uh school year. There was a little bit of talk about looking at a three-day week, having that Friday, having a longer Labor Day weekend. One of the concerns that was shared by a couple staff was the fact that that is the state fair, that is FFA. we would treat that uh those as excused absences for our students uh because that would be considered I would say probably a school activity you know if they're doing that. So we would definitely um look to make those excused absences. Uh if you look down then you're going to see um and so I guess too I also want to thank our committee members who sat down. I think I might have eight different 10 different calendars

that we kind of reviewed to see what was our best options. Like I said, this will go out to the staff as well. But you're going to see October is pretty standard with MEA. We would finish the first quarter on the 30th. Um and then you're going to see that we would have conferences still that Monday and Tuesday prior to Thanksgiving. Um Wednesday would be the teacher comp day. We do plan to have school on Monday and Tuesday. Of course, this last this current school year in, we did have the full two weeks, but one of the things um Darren, Kaylin, Ryan, I think you remember during negotiations, it was talked about that's a long time, right, for our hourly support staff not to to have work time to get paid. And so, we want

to honor that. So, one of our uh committee members just brought that to our attention. And I do remember that conversation because really the work days that would be available would be limited for them. So that January 15th paycheck becomes fairly small. Um and then if you look into January, the 18th would be our teacher that would be so the 15th is the end of the semester, the end of the second quarter. The 18th would be our teacher workday where they would have time for grading and we would do some professional development during that time. Uh parent teacher conferences the 8th, the 11th, and then the um 12th would be the teacher comp day. The beauty of this calendar is it does allow for a President's Day weekend. So sometimes those months of February and

March can become a little long for everybody involved. You look at March, Easter is actually the 28th of March. So the end of the quarter would be the 24th. Students would actually have Thursday, Friday, and Monday off. Um teachers, they would have their PD day and the uh quarter grading time on the 25th. Um, and then it shows 45 days in that quarter. And then of course that could also maybe be some built-in snow days if we needed to, although we you'll see we have some of those at the end of the year. Um, we've heard a little bit of feedback as well from some families in the fact that um, all of a sudden changing that Monday after Easter could be difficult for some of our families like we're going to potentially do this

year. Um, so if we can add a little bit of time at the end of the year, that might be more appreciated. But then you look at the end of the year, our last student day would be the 26th, barring we don't have to make up snow days. The 27th would be a staff day and then the 28th is no school. Here's one of the things that we probably want to survey our families on would be graduation. Historically, WCA has always had graduation the Friday following um Memorial Day. Well, that's a whole additional week. I think that becomes, you know, our students are now waiting to they're ready to graduate. Now, they've got to wait an additional week. If you're the band director, the choir teacher, that means you have to hold kids for another

week to have those groups to perform. And so, the 28th might be more ideal. I don't want to speak for families, so I can survey them, but maybe that allows families to get more people here as well. If there's a longer holiday weekend, they might be able to get here, too. Um, you know, that way. So, that's that calendar starts pre prior to Labor Day. A lot of times people do appreciate being able to end before Memorial Day. also trying I would say one of our task force members or committee members said we really do need to look out for our families when they if they have um Martin Luther King day off president's day off and then we happen to have a different day off that now they they have to find child care

there and the day that they have off their kids aren't there so did a nice job of advocating for that piece so that's any questions on that calendar before I jump to option B which is our post Labor Day And what I'll typically tell you about school calendars is when you're in during that time. So if we don't have two weeks at Christmas, that's when people say, "Well, you know, it would have been really nice to have two weeks at Christmas." But then if you're in after Memorial Day, then they want to know why all the neighboring schools are out before Memorial Day and we're still there. And well, it's the number of days that we have to get in and here's kind of how it works out. So, and like I said, this you're

not taking official action here. We'll still have the teacher or all of our staff vote on that. Um, option B, like I said, is a post Labor Day start. So, you're going to see that we still have that same week lined up for back to school workshop time because the Morris collaborative day is set and fixed on the 25th of August. We start school Tuesday after Labor Day and then everything for the most part for the fall kind of aligns to be the same thing just that it pushes back our you know the the end of the quarters um by one week for the most part. So the parent teacher conferences stays the same. the Christmas holiday break stays the same and then we get up to uh January um that so that orange is

going to throw you off but I'd already went through several pieces of paper so that's really supposed to be pink but it started yellow then went to pink so that comes to orange I guess so that's so that is a non-school day that is a Martin Luther King day so you got that day and then the 25th would be a student day off because we'd have the end of the of the semester in the second quarter on the 22nd. So that would be a half day for PD and a half day for grading. And then February seems is still the same thing. You've got the longer President's Day break there with the 12th being a staff comp day. So staff would not have school on the 12th except for our 12-month staff or the 15th

which aligns with the other calendar. Easter break is just that Friday. Um, so students would be there through Thursday rather than having the last day on the Wednesday. Um, and then again just pushing back our weeks. And so then we would have uh a staff day on April 2nd. And then the key piece is the end of the school year is Thursday, June, excuse me, June 3rd. Staff is June 4th. Now I mean immediately you can look at it and say, "Well, what if we give two weeks off at Christmas?" you could do that again our support staff that was resonated I felt um to respect their you know their request there so then you take off those days that we have off at Martin Luther King Day and President's Day that makes that wintertime

a long time um with many breaks there or you could drop the calendar by a couple days well now your last student days June 1st that's a half day so we're coming back for one half day I don't really want my name on that calendar cuz people are going to say why was we ever come back for one half day on Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend. So that was the other options that were looked at but I just don't believe they're good options to come back for a half day with students and staff on that second Wednesday. Um you know that way. So immediate response I would say from the committee is leaning towards option A, but like I said, it'll go out to our entire staff so they can vote on that and um

then we can review that information and kind of go from there. And like I said, one of the pieces that has not been identified yet will be. I think we need to survey our families again um and our staff on those early outs because what we've noticed is we don't see we have the same number of kids that are in student supervision that were in student supervision the year prior. So it didn't really change anything that way. Um there and of course Fridays are times right if you want to if you're going to take off take some time to go early to maybe catch if if a child's in a sporting event or something like that. We've seen some staff that are also, you know, and they those are their days that they are able

to take and should be able to take to go support their own families. And so we've seen a little bit more there, which probably wouldn't happen necessarily on a Wednesday, but we'll reservey and just to get some feedback from folks there. All right. Any questions, comments on school calendar? Any thoughts? I know my staff wear gloves to Friday. >> They do. Okay. >> And it works good for me supervisor because that's just it's easier on four days in a row than basically having two Fridays or when you know as many kids as we have for staff members that have kids. >> So, but the calendar part doesn't really affect me much other seems to be nicer in the fall. I'd rather start later than I'd rather have Labor Day holiday than Memorial Day just because

Memorial Day is cold now. It used to be nice. It's like it's shifted now. So, but it doesn't matter. anything that sticks out to you from famil family's perspectives or anything like that where you say and like I said I know one of our people was very good about saying hey our days the Monday follow or the Friday before Martin Luther King Day can we do a better job of trying to align those days so if a family has it if a parent has a day off that they can be home with their kids instead of trying to find care and then having a different day off that was one of the things that they had heard so so yeah I think it's a lot of time and effort you say Mr. fosling that kind

of went into trying to find the the right pieces. I I started with an A a1 BB B1 and I think we've just decided that it should really be a pre-LOR day and a post Labor Day. Otherwise, you could start to split pieces, right? And the most popular calendar could be B. But if you have a B and a B1 and that splits and now A wins, is that really how we want to do it as a fair way there as well? So, that's kind of where we're at. if there's something that sticks out to you that you've heard from families and and to your point Darren about the two Fridays I will say a staff member mentioned that as well they go you know it feels like two Fridays so I think we will

definitely take that into consideration as we go through that but I think bring all that data back and we don't have to have those I would say ready to go until April right we'll get all that information and say so families will still have several months before October comes before that two twohour early ultra late start there was really kind of I thought a little bit of a push for a late start rather than an early out and they felt that that would be a better way to do that. We would have to accommodate some travel time in between. The nice part is once the kids are here with the bus, right, they can stay for student supervision. The parents just have to make sure that they get them at the end of the day.

We would still provide student supervision in the morning. Hard part is now the parents and our buses aren't running at 7 o'clock in the morning to get them there. So, they would have to drop them off and things like that. We would probably serve breakfast. I think that would still be a responsibility that we would have for them. Um, you know, that way. But that was one of the pieces that was kind of noted is can we look at a late start rather than an early out. I think that's helpful a little bit for our junior high practices. I know that's the other piece too. Now on our Friday early outs is our junior junior high students who are part of an activity and they have practice or something later on that afternoon. They can't

drive home. They can't drive back. So they're here and again no fault of their own, right? if they've got to be here for practice. So that's the other piece that we'll probably have to take into consideration. I haven't seen a whole lot of them. I just know the last early out there was a couple and they were fine. They just sat out in the commons area and I said, "Oh, you guys got practice afterwards." "Yeah, we we just didn't have a ride and I said, "No, I understand." So I said, "As long as you're not getting into trouble or horsing around or, you know, walking all through the hallways causing mischief." I said, "I don't have a problem with that." But Mr. Fosane, is there any points for you on that piece with the >>

late start, early outs? I think I'll I'll take a bigger stab at the calendar. On paper, it seems easy until you start deep dive looking into it and trying to make it work for every entity. And I think at the end of the day, the committee that assembled that was assembled to look at understood that that there's a lot of parties to try to keep happy here. And you know, we were able to narrow it down to two options through many different variations in many different A1, B1, B2. Um, and there's just a lot of factors that go in into your early early out or late start. I mean, there again, which how how are you going to balance that because of all the different things that are going on? And and the other part

just logistically with our district, it makes it kind of complicated when you have one building here, one seven miles away, and one 14 miles away. So, just lots of lots of pieces. And as you as the board look at that, you'll see there's just hard to please everybody. So, how does it work with um the spring sports like where their sections fall and stuff? >> Typically that week is right before Memorial Day. I have not seen the projected 27 calendar yet. Um I do know with 26 27th school year activity starts, the calendar is really bumpy with the way MEA and the way some of the other sports start. So that may have an impact on where they fall in the spring, but typically that those playoffs are right around or excuse me, Memorial weekend,

sorry. So >> because the end of the football season and the start of playoff is not too many Fridays, but towards the end, right? >> Next year, week six is NBA for football. So you're going to see a bumpy week six and week seven. So, we're going to see some Tuesday games in there, Wednesday games, and you know, we we're used to MEA being week eight, and that throws a wrench when it's not week eight. So, so yeah, that I I don't know if you can ever match that calendar up. It's just with Labor Day this year, this calendar, and the next calendar, we're going to experience that kind of two years and then get back to normal again or what we deem normal after that. So, because they don't want to do half the

season before the school starts. >> No, >> I mean essentially that's you're gonna have sports in order to fix it >> will tell you that you can't start >> Can you scroll up, Mr. Blo? >> Sports medicine will tell you No. Yeah. >> Oh, sorry. >> You you can't start uh August 10th. That's too early. >> Well, this year we started August 11th and that's fine. >> Don't make the rules. That's what they'll tell you. That's a lot different. >> So, so like this year or 26, we don't start activities till August 17th. Can't start August time. >> I don't make the rules. >> And then you got to have two weeks. >> Yeah. >> So, the first week one for football, >> if we're if we're looking at this calendar, we're just we'll use

this week one is the first week of school. Friday, September 4th. That's game one football, right? And that's different. >> Previously, we've had a game where sometimes two before >> school has started. >> Huh. >> So, yeah. So, everything gets a little bumpy. >> Yeah. >> I don't know if I answered anything or if I just talked about >> You did good. You did good. >> Maybe we could do some e games in the beginning of the season to get going. Well, I think actually since you once you did mention that our staff did one of the things during that calendar committee meeting was the elementary staff feel it's vitally important still to get together most of the time on any of those early outs or late starts. They said trying to do that virtually

just is not. And I think really it's important right since we're spread out that way yet we're all one. We need to bring those folks together. So that's because it was mentioned you could save a half hour of travel time by doing it remotely. And I just felt that that was feedback we got was that wouldn't be a positive. We don't have a whole lot of opportunities to get together throughout the year. And if we say now we're going to move those out then it doesn't doesn't work that way either. All right. Any other questions, comments on the calendar? Then we look at our certified non-certified seniority list. >> Yep. But I I think the first piece that I want to mention here is this is just drafts, initial drafts that are out there. This

is the first time that I've received as many emails and stops in my office to say, "Hey, you know, how is this working? Is this done alphabetically? Where is this at?" So, I think um there's going to be some work. I already talked to Maggie Doll as one of the co-presidents of of the union or the teachers union to say please reiterate that these are initial drafts. There are some pieces I think um back to last year Darren I think you had mentioned hey what are those pieces when they're hired the same time you know how are we going to make that determination because I think we had a situation in the past where somebody just assumed even though they were all hired at the same point that as long as just based on order

the bottom person is truly going to be the first one cut and that wasn't the case and so we just want to sit down and get through some of those pieces because I've had you know somebody pointed out they look like it's alphabetical order. So, if you're lucky enough to have your name um at the top of the alphabet, you're the one who I said, "No, that's not how we're going to do it." So, I did talk to the school boards association to get some further clarification. They suggested probably on that list. They said don't pinpoint this one's first, this one's second. They should say these would be the areas that would be considered if you're making a decision based on seniority. So, anything from additional education to um maybe additional duties that they take

if they're a coach, different things like that. But that's where I want to sit down. Um I did reach out to Claire if there's another board member that would like to sit on that. But I know Claire has some experience as a former administrator. We sit down with maybe a member of um the union just say let's walk through that because it in our contract it says the district has discretion. So that's really what it states. I do agree in the fact that maybe we need to identify what does that discretion include? What is that? What pieces are they looking at so people know and probably to also clarify that if you have the exact same hire date or first day of school date all those are at the same point and then that discretion

will need to be used and we would have to lay those pieces out there um for them. But yeah, I did have somebody email yesterday and just said I think it's right now just based on alphabetical order. I said you are correct. So there is nothing if you just happen to be at the bottom of the alphabet, nope, that's not how it's going to be to be viewed. So I think that'll be some things that we'll want to sit down sooner than later. Um, and what I mean by that like in the next week um so folks can see that so they know because yet there's been and there's some other pieces that we need to address. Uh remember preschool has now been incorporated into the into the full list. Um, but there's one additional

individual that we have to look at that prior to becoming a elementary teacher had preschool experience in the district. So, we need to sit down and get all those pieces ironed out and and cleaned up and things like that. I think it's like I said, I think as we unfortunately have had to look at some right sizing over the last couple years. Now, people are paying very close attention to that. Even from our support staff perspective, I had a support staff member that came in and just said, "Hey, we're hired at the same time. How are you going to make that distinction? And I I think we have to clarify that as well that you know and if you've got letters training, if you've got some CPI or deescalation training or you're a CNA, different

things there. And I'm not saying those are the ones that we look at, but those would be the the pieces that we would identify to say here's how that seniority is going to be um to be measured as we go through that. So people have an understanding as we go into it that they don't feel it's just an arbitrary, well, they just they don't like me. So that's why they picked me. Now here's the areas that we looked at. And then that would be to me as we go through and start to make any of those identifications for a particular individual, we would say, hey, and these are the reasons why we've chosen this other person here. >> I think it's got to be clearly defined. And I thought we kind of went through some

of that last year and the list was in kind of order. Didn't we do that? I don't I don't think we got it all the way down to the clearly defined. >> I thought it was in order by the date of hire like the day of like even to the day that it was in order last year before we approved it. >> No, those were all the So, it's actually their first day of work is how we have that. And I don't think it was the day of hire last year either. I can double check that to see. And Darren, here's my concern about that is the fact that if you happen if there's an opening March 15th and you apply for the position and get the March 15th, even though you don't start until

August, you know, because our contract does not state that it's date of hire, there is no clarity there. But if you don't start teaching until our first day is workshops the 25th and now another position opens and somebody else applies. They didn't apply the first time because they didn't know that there was position openings or just didn't now they apply May 31st and because the person was hired March 15th that qualifies them to say that >> I don't know it depends on how you clearly define it. >> I'm not going to do I I yeah >> depend how seniority works. MSBA said it can be by your first day of work or your or your hire date. And so because I and our contract doesn't illustrate that. >> What does the contract state say? >>

It doesn't have >> doesn't have either one in there. >> So it doesn't have anything by seniority at all. >> Not that I recall. I'll have to double check that to see now that I it might have something hired. I have to double check that to see. assume it must have something in there otherwise it wouldn't be approving the seniority, >> right? Yep. Nope. So >> maybe we could get who shows up first on that first day of work know by >> it should be clearly defined to me so there's a I don't know what teachers think but I mean to me it should be as clearly defined as we can possibly make it so that there isn't a discrepancy or an accusation of discrimination or any other thing like that. >> I would agree

with you Darren. Nope. I would agree that we have to but again I'm still going to reiterate the fact that just because you saw the job job opening in March and maybe you weren't looking for a job there and now somebody else applies because nobody started working it would be in your role it's different right you hired that person they're probably going to start working within the next week or two but now they're going to wait four months before they put in their first day of work so I I don't think that that's I struggle with that piece >> I think that you know setting it as the first day of work opens it up to you can further break down their qualifications. You know, if you have somebody that gets hired in March and

they have a minimum qualification and you get somebody that's hired in May that has a a higher qualification to say, well, this guy got hired in March, so they have seniority. that doesn't really make sense when it comes to, you know, choosing the most qualified teacher for the for the position. So, you know, I' I'd rather have if somebody had to be let go, I would rather let go a less qualified teacher than, you know, somebody that's going to be better for our kids. >> But what's that definition of qualification? So that they know, so that they can advance themselves to be at the top of that list. if they if they want to >> correct and that's the part that we have to define incentivize that so that we're not picking and choosing >>

correct >> from day to day from this year or next year what all of a sudden is better >> no I would agree with that that's the part that we want to sit down with >> it's not like I'm not saying would necessarily unless the contracts would have to be the actual date that you they sign the paper and then you know in whatever June and then they don't >> you know what I'm and restart 4 months later. >> Whatever it is, clearly define it to the best of your ability so that we at the board don't end up in a position in which we're challenged on how we're making that decision. >> Completely agree. >> Yeah. >> Did you have something, Claire? Yeah, I would I think you know this is a tricky conversation

and what I think it it really works best in when I think about this that we collaborate with the union that we put together, you know, kind of a draft of what we think and then get some feedback from them. But I think the emphasis should be on that the decisions are based on data, right? So if you have a a physics license and a biology license, I that might carry weight. So those kinds of things that we would look at as um metrics. And so I think it's a conversation. You have to get some things on paper and look at it and and evaluate, you know, Darren, which ones are um mushy that are open to interpretation. So because we don't want to create uh a dynamic where uh it looks like favoritism or

uh some pieces there that aren't defensible. So I think if we can kind of start with a framework and work with the union on that a little bit, I think that might be helpful. >> Like I said, I reached out to Claire just to ask her as this was starting to roll in unless there's somebody else who wants to sit on that. Um I would say could be conflict you have right on it. >> Yeah. So >> I have to but I'm not going to but >> Yep. So I think if we >> Exactly. No. So I think we'll sit down and get that put together. Hopefully Claire has some availability over the next week. we can sit down bring those things back to say hey here's how we see that list and it needs

to be right on the list to say here's how seniority here's the initial piece and here's the other factors that'll be considered so we have less mushiness as Claire said >> it's not just a certified staff it's a non-certified staff that we're also dealing with >> Yep correct yep >> when it comes to that so >> and then you have to wait it right so if we hire two people and one's a volleyball coach and one's a football coach. Well, which one's more important? You know, like depends on who you ask, right? I mean, if that's your deciding factor is they're coaching. Well, what if they're both coach? You know, how how many steps do we go down the road to say, >> you know, this is, you know, >> this is where we're at.

Mhm. >> So, >> yeah, I mean, obviously in a small district, the chances of us, >> you know, get getting down two or three steps, >> have that defined ahead of time, >> right? >> So, you're not making that decision and have that where somebody can say, "Well, because your kid plays football, because your kid plays that, >> you know, if it's coaching gives you a point and it's clearly defined, >> might not have a hard time getting coaching. Maybe maybe Repping is a gives you a point. >> Yeah, might be five points, right? >> Mr. Fosley. >> Umping. It might be ump. Umping might get you five points. >> I would I would work in what just my own two cents and I'm going maybe step on the soap box here, but I'd work

in whatever other criteria you could work in there as far as coaching, advising, working, whatever, something to find a separator. So, it's my own opinion. Mhm. >> I can say my past districts, they had that as well in their contract, different criteria points that would would create different separation amongst you and another employee that were hired at the same time, >> aka maybe who contributed more to the district. Right. >> Clara, did you raise your hand again or did I just >> No, I I think if if we can start to look at some metrics um and you know, quite frankly, teacher evaluations would be a part of that. >> Well, I I think right now it does say if a teacher's on a teacher improvement plan and there's then that they would be least

qualified if next if they were tied with somebody else. >> Yeah. Can we and can that wait? You know, there there's another thing we talk about all the time is, you know, with the way the union contract works, obviously we have to let the last one hired go first, but can they step ahead of, you know, if you were hired a year before me, but you're on an improvement plan and I'm not, you know, can can we make that work? You know, rather keep the, you know, we if we're doing the same job, how does that work? Mhm. >> I get it. There's a process. Anyway, that's all I was going to say. >> I think that's still based on >> I know >> start. But yeah, absolutely. Nope. I >> So, >> but can

we make negative points for you? >> Right. I mean, I'm not disagreeing. I'm saying keep yourself out of the >> Oh, right. Absolutely. You can be >> challenged on that when you as a superintendent are planning a year or two in advance of probably looking at whether something something's going to have to happen or not. So be careful. >> Right. Yep. Well, I think getting that list so people >> I don't want to put the district in a position where they get challenged on something that doesn't look right. You're better off just having it defined clearly if you have that opportunity to do so. >> Well, I think just that >> any other >> and I think even beyond the challenge part is just everybody else it's a stressful time, right? I mean, that's why

people are now reaching out. I think if they know and have that clarity to start with, it's going to make things easier, not easier, but more palatable for those folks as well. >> So, we will get some stuff back to you, Claire. I'll reach out to you and we'll reach out to the union to get some things lined up there that way. >> Then we'll just hit a little facilities timeline. >> Yeah. So, we did meet um with Darren Seers and so this is the school perception survey timeline in that meeting with Seth as well as um Krauss Anderson were there. So, you're going to see that they've got some pieces uh kind of here ready to go. They'll have to secure the printer and they'll get an up-to-date mailing list. So, they did ask

if that would be something that we would want to put together. They said for $150 they've got a company that makes sure it's all complete and accurate. And so I said to me that was money well spent for the $150 to do that. So they'll be working through that. They will start to put together that survey uh data piece there and then you'll see March 4th. So >> I want to reook that. >> Right. Yep. So, how are we going to want to um So, let me see if we can >> say can we look at the calendar because I I know the key is they want to give enough time three weeks for PE for people to fill out the survey and then they were really looking at that review and comment deadline is

where they back everything up to. So, >> do we want to look at reschedar or >> what's that? You got this that that week of the March 4th or >> Monday mid morning back I think through the evening. I mean it is our committee meeting so there's not really action on that meeting. So yeah, like you said, do you want to move it back one week and then we're the 11th and the 18th? Then >> can we can that the draft will be emailed out, I would imagine, ahead of time anyway for us to look at >> I would think so. Yeah, >> I think I I have another meeting the 11th, but potentially would there be a I mean like Could we go Monday? I mean, which is Monday? >> Monday or >> Tuesday?

Would that >> I could do Monday March 9th, but the 10th and 11th. So, >> yeah. So, maybe that's our best to do it that Monday because I I do get a little concerned because they've got the they need to do the edits. It's just going to >> right >> back us up a little bit tight. So >> would March 9th work for any any opposition to March 9th instead of the 4th >> choir concert that night. >> What time is that at? >> 7 o'clock. >> So we're going to have a 5:30 meeting. We've had lots of discussion tonight. It's 20 to 7, right? So would that >> work for me? >> I mean we certainly could limit the other items that are on that committee meeting so that it is maybe more centralized

on that on this topic for that committee meeting. And if we need to push some more things to the later meeting for discussion items, we could do that. >> We start at five until 5:30. That would be up to You're closer now. >> Would five work. >> Yeah. >> And I guess my suggestion would be I would look at the March agenda. Jake and Chad, you guys are here. I don't think it would hurt their feelings if we didn't have them give admin. We could skip that. >> We could not have admin reports that night. >> We give you a month off. >> They would owe us. They would owe us some other place. >> Yeah. Feel special. >> We'll take two in April. What? >> What do you do in April? >> Luke, this

is this hasn't happened. This this must be you. That's why he's looking at you. >> Yeah. >> So, do we want to I mean I Is there anything, Jake, that you can I'm trying to or Chad? >> I mean, that's going to be state tournament time for a lot of things. Tournament. Tournament time. The Mar the beginning of March is going to be tournament time for you. >> You're still going to be moving snow, so it's not going to be any different in your house, right? I mean, we talked to building about a buildings and grounds meeting prior to, but you could still do that at >> the at 3:30. So, okay. Does that work? >> March 9. Yeah. I would just advocate to make sure it's done before the >> CL. So, >> okay.

>> So, >> we'll go March 9th at 5. >> That gives two hours. Does everybody feel comfortable enough to go any and we'll make sure that you have the survey in advance? >> Um, you know, that way. So, and we'll still have we really will have to probably set the meeting >> next month to say that we're moving that. We've announced it now, but we'll do official action. >> We can do it the in our next meeting this >> February 18th meeting. We can set that. >> I'll get that set on there. >> That way it's on the agenda before we make the action on it. But at least we have that discussed now. So, that'll be an action item at the end. >> Yes. >> We didn't ask Claire or Clara, but does that

work for you? >> Yep. March 9th. Yes. Okay. You didn't yell and say no, Claire, so I thought maybe it would be okay. >> Yeah, I'm good. >> Okay. >> So, before that, I'll make sure that I reach out to school perceptions to say, "Here's what we're looking at doing. We really have a limited time scope of two hours because we have the choir concert. Do they get the survey in advance? Does two hours give us enough time?" >> Then I can report that back on that February 18th meeting. >> Okay. Sound good? Anything else on that timeline that you see that sticks out? Obviously, we're going to be slightly a jar there, but it shouldn't really make it I mean, it's not going to push things down the road too far. And my guess

is some of that's there's some leeway in in these times anyway. you plan for three weeks and it maybe can be done in two and we're caught up just like that in the first item, you know. So, that would be pieces that I don't know that we have to adjust the rest of it quite yet, but >> I was just looking at his at his note there. >> School board reviews the survey draft. I see it says different school boards handle this differently. Some school boards discuss a survey as anformational item. Others have a formal vote on the consent agenda for expedited timelines. an informal item is more common or an informational item is more common. >> So really, we're going to look at it, go through, give some feedback on it, and then they're

going to make final edits based off of that information. >> Yep. >> Essentially, and I think that's consistent with what we did the last go round when we we looked at the items. I don't think we made very many changes. is they have a lot of wording pieces that are well doumented verbiage that solicits the answer or or the that questions things correctly, right? It's not just what do you think? It's >> in this situation, what would you you know that those kinds of wording pieces. So, >> sorry Nathan, I tried to click pen again. Any other comments, questions on the timeline? >> Make a motion we >> motion. Is there a second? >> Second. >> All in favor say I. >> I. Motion carries. Thanks, Claire.
