also posted on the district website. Please stand for nation. >> Mrs. Mrs. >> Mr. Ki, >> thank you. Dr. Isacson here. >> Mr. Sullivan, >> Mr. Miller >> here, >> Mrs. Wright, >> Mrs. Dorley Motion, second, please, for the approval. Any questions? All those in favor? Thank you. Good evening. We've made it to spring. Spring sports have officially begun and we're just eight more school days away from spring break. Spring break will begin on April 3rd and students will return to school on April 13th, except for some of our seniors who will be on the senior trips to Disney from April 13th to 17th. This week, there will be an AP Spanish and Spanish 3 field trip to Princeton University Art Museum on March 25th and a future teacher visitation districtwide on the 26th. Students

have been busy as they prepare for the end of year testing and upcoming AP exams. But it also means the selecting courses for next year will be right around the corner. So make sure to watch Genesis for recommendations. Also marking period 3 will be coming to an end on April 14th. So check Genesis for as well. Students in student council, National Honor Society, in our club and have been helping out with the community at various events in the past month with the recognition of world down syndrome day and creation of spring baskets as some examples. Thank you. We're going to begin tonight's recognition of students with our high school student of the month, Mr. Kogan. >> I just was talking, but I wasn't sure if we would go first or second or third. There's a

lot. There's obviously a lot of people here to be recognized, and we don't want to take up um too much time. However, we just need to stop and appreciate Lena as our student of the month for uh February. Lena, come on up. So, Lena is absolutely positively amazing and fantastic and you're going to learn a little bit more about her via a presentation and then I'm going to say a few things and then we'll Uh, we'll clap for her again, embarrass her a little bit more, and then we'll move on to some more recognition. So, go right ahead. >> Hi, my name is Lena Nuin, and I'm honored to be February's student of the month. What I love most about Florence High School is the ease of finding various communities. I feel a broad community

within my senior class, as we have grown up together for years, and the small class sizes have kept us in close social proximity. Furthermore, with the plethora of clubs and extracurricular activities available here, I'm able to connect with many people based on our shared interests like music and culture. This isn't limited to within the school, as some clubs like MUN have given me the opportunity to find community with students across the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area. At this school, there's always something to participate in that will give you a sense of belonging. My favorite subject has always been math. On a superficial level, I typically do very well in my math classes, and the concepts come pretty easily at me. On a deeper level, though, it reflects my appreciation for certainty and predictability. Unlike English

classes that are influenced by endless subjective interpretations of a text, and science classes where you explore the unknown through hypothesis, there are clear and concrete solutions to math equations. Outside of school, I enjoy reading. I enjoy the ability of stepping into creative fictional worlds that brilliant authors can put to paper. I'm at a great pace to complete my 2026 reading goal in 30 books as I'm currently reading my 10th. I also love to travel. Exploring the world and indulging in unfamiliar yet fascinating cultures has always been something I enjoy doing. It's especially great to travel with my wonderful family and spend quality time with them. After graduating from Florence Township Memorial High School, I plan on attending a 4-year college program studying actuarial mathematics. The future of one's life is always unpredictable, but I can

truly thank FDMHs for getting me to where I am today. So, um, as a representative of our faculty, let me just say that we are completely blown away by Lena. She's absolutely fantastic. She's such a wonderful person. She's such a hardworking student. She's so intelligent. She's so kind. Um, we're just continuously impressed with her. A few things that I also just wanted to point out quickly, but that you should you should know. Um, she's a leader inside and outside of the classroom. She's the drum line drum drum line captain of the marching band. She's the president of the model United Nations Club. Uh she's also in she's a valuable member in the pit orchestra, the national honor society, the interact club, cultural cultural awareness for everyone club, and the farm-to-table club. Uh she won't brag

about this, but that's part of my job and my pleasure to say that she's taken her most competitive classes. She's always pushed herself so hard. the college board in fact recognized her as an AP scholar with distinction because of just how well she did in the rigorous in the rigorous courses that she was taking while here. So I mean in a nutshell, we couldn't be happier than we are to have her here. We think that she's absolutely fantastic. We're going to miss her dearly when she's gone and um congratulations Riverfront. So, I'd like to call Bana Phillips up our month. We'll watch Banna's beautiful video that she put together and then we'll talk a little bit about her. Hi, my name is Brianna Phillips. I'm February Elk Student of the Month for 2026. My hobbies

outside of school include babysitting and staying very focused training for my club soccer team. I also in my free time, I look for extra opportunities to improve my education like reading and joining at school clubs. Lastly, I love to travel and explore many beaches around the East Coast. One fun fact, I've been to Disney 13 times. My hobbies inside of school consist of school soccer and being very involved with student council, making a great relationship with all of my teachers. Lastly, I've managed basketball for girls for two years now at Planting High School. My vision and goal for the future is to be a dermatologist. I want to be a dermatologist for many reasons. One reason I would love to be a dermatologist is that I love helping people and making people be the best

version of themselves that they can be. I'm a huge supporter. I will achieve my goals by working my hardest to work up to the standards of picking a great college for my dermatology degree. To get to the level of dermatology I want to succeed in during high school, I will work to take AP biology and physics, building a strong science education. Lastly, I can do junior volunteering at local nursing homes and hospitals near me, giving me more experience with medicine. My favorite subject is science. I love the work and I love understanding and the steps of using formulas and interwining math into the way everything works. My all-time favorite branch of science is chemistry and biology. I'm fascinated by how the body works in a molecule level. This will help me as a study during

my favorite memories of all my good laughs always came from Mr. Grace's swim. On Halloween of 2024, Mr. Grace told me and my class a scary story in the dark. The story he told us was that he Mr. Grace was walking down the street late at night. He kept hearing rocks being kicked behind him on the pavement. As soon as he turned around, there was nobody. My advice for younger students and future students to come is always surround yourself with a good group of people. Thank you all so much for your time. >> She's trying to run away. She's shy. So, just tell you a little bit about Brianna. She's in student council, work on girls soccer, and travel soccer. She loves to play instruments, make art, reading, sports, and spending time with her family.

Her teachers say, "Rihanna is a student who has shown so much growth and maturity during her time in middle school, which we all know is a hard time. The transformation in Brief that has been seen from sixth grade to current 8th grade is a testament to her acknowledgement of the things that were important to her and her desire to do, change, whatever was necessary to achieve those goals. She's an active member of our student council and ran an excellent campaign for a board position. And despite her loss, she never wavered in her commitment to her school, her classmates, um, and herself. We wish her nothing but the best, and we know that she's going to be successful in her school. >> All right. Unfortunately, Mrs. is not here this evening. So, we will be moving

the rolling manner banner to next month. But at this time, we'll take it over to our future flash. Okay. Our future flash award. So, we have several future flashes from kind of catch up over the couple months. The future flash award is given to students who shine bright by being respectful, responsible, safe, positive, and kind. These students are great friends. They listen well. care of their things and always help make our classrooms happy and safe places. They are the future flashes for our school community, showing everyone how to be helpers, friends, and learners. Just like a flash of light, they lead the way and show others how to be their best. So, our first future flash we're recognizing is Jacob from Miss Moren's room. Jacob here today. >> We thought maybe you weren't here. So,

>> all right. So, this is what Miss Moren had to say about you. It is with great pleasure that I nominate Jacob for a future flash award. Being in her preschool classroom is Jacob's very first experience with school and being away from home. From September until now, Jacob has grown and blossomed in so many ways. Jacob Caring and respectful of others feelings. He comforts other children when they're upset or need a positive booster hug. Jacob comes in with a smile on his face each and every day. Eager to learn and to contribute in class. He is very kind and always says please and thank you. I am extremely proud of Jacob and thankful for the opportunity to have taught him this year. Congratulations. Next we have Naomi. Naomi shines every single day in our classroom.

She comes in with a big smile on her face and is determined to answer every question, showing confidence and curiosity in everything she does. Naomi set such a wonderful example for her classmates by raising her hand, helping her fellow classmates with any task, and leading with kindness. She is a natural leader and our go-to girl. We can't wait to see how much she continues to grow and succeed over the next few months. We already know we will miss her so much when she heads off to kindergarten. We are so proud of you, Na. Our next future class is Dawkins here. There he is. Dawan is a great student who loves learning and especially enjoys reading. He is always looking for new books showing his curiosity and joy for learning. Dawkins enjoys classmates and is always

looking for ways to improve others, helping create a kind classroom environment. He shows leadership qualities every day, whether it's helping classmates problem solve, helping his teachers, making sure other children are not alone, or modeling positive choices. Dawkins has a kind heart and his kindness, responsibility, and excitement for learning make him a role model for his peers. We so happy Dawan is part of our class. All right. And our last two future flashes from Miss Laura's class. Let's call up Charlie and Dean. They're both here. So, you may have noticed a pattern that we're supposed to nominate one person. Um, we've been working a lot on kindness and I could not possibly only pick one person because I could not leave either of these people out. They have been role models in our classroom all year.

And I'm going to read the words that I said about each of them. Declan. Declan is a role model of kindness in our classroom. When we had our class bingo board for kindness week, he could have single-handedly completed it all by himself with things like helping teachers, giving a compliment, and working as a team. We can always count on him to lead by example. Charie is such a thoughtful and kind friend both to students and to teachers. He is always finding ways to help out by cleaning up messes, comforting someone who is sad, or making sure that the rest of kids are doing the right thing. His smile is contagious and we love having him in class. So, thank you. >> All right. Now, in recognition of our fellow athletes, All right. Good evening. >>

Tonight, we'd like to recognize and celebrate our Florence Township Memorial High School 2026 fall student athletes for their outstanding achievements from this past season. Before we do that, I'd like to speak a couple quick points on educational athletics and why it's so important. It prepares our students for the future. Being a high school student athlete teaches a kid that other people depend on them. Student athletes develop the self-discipline, motivation, and leadership skills that they'll need to succeed in a meaningful per purposeful life. It also teaches teamwork, collaboration, and compromise. Being a part of a sports team helps students uh helps teach students valuable lessons such as how to be part of a team, how to compromise, and how to collaborate. Sometimes we get caught up in wins and losses and championships, but these points I

just read to you are the primary reasons why your parents ever got you involved in sports to begin with. And it's very important to remember that. We'll start by recognizing all Burlington County Scholastic League second team selections. When I call your name, please come up to receive your certificate. Please remain standing so that we can get a photo of all second teamers together. First, I'd like to bring up our girls soccer team BCSL second team selections. Parker 350 West Front Street and I just wanted to say thank you that I spoke a month ago at the meeting and brought up the parking situation at the school and I wanted to say thank the administration staff teachers everyone who has created a drop and vote

situation for the morning drop off school and utilized it every day and I hope that the feedback is positive. because it seems to be a great option. So, thank you for hearing us and for the effort 325 Chestnut Street. I want to read a email from my wife, Mr. Dear Principal. I'm writing to who was a parent of Cody Cullen who was in Miss Ridgeway and Miss Oscar Lucy's second grade class. I previously communicated with Ridgeway on December 5th, 2025 without concern regarding the overall classroom environment and after hearing my son's account of his day-to-day school. I did not or I did receive a message back from Miss Ridgeway confirming Cody's accurate description of the day. I was informed that my message would be passed along to you. I was hoping to hear from you

and was giving the time. I haven't received any communication. The persistent disruption continues and is negatively impacting Cody's ability to focus and learn effectively. I am also extremely concerned that safety as well as the safety of the other students and staff. To be specific, Cody has come home and complained about being choked by another student. I believe Miss Hooks handled the situation. However, I was not notified about anything at all other than Cody's account of what happened. Cody explains to me that he has witnessed daily more than one child throwing items across the room. These items include chairs, desk, water bottles, books, cases pretty much anything they can reach. Cody in his own words has expressed to me that these kids are overraged and angry. He says they have extreme outbursts and consist of very

frequent long periods of shouting, yelling, and screaming at the top of their phones. He says these students run around and continue to disrupt the classroom. This makes it impossible to hear the teacher and creates a lack of clear instruction which has resulted in unfinished work, anxiety, inability to concentrate on lessons, and feelings of not feeling safe. I'm told the entire class will be removed and sent to the hallway in the middle of learning impeding on the educational rate of all students in the classroom. The other option is Cody says he must sit through it and has to try to block it out. Cody says they have headphones to block noise, but one day they couldn't find a pair to use. He also says they use inappropriate language and get physical with the teacher. Cody has

been subject to this behavior and this kind of violence every day, Monday and Friday, five days a week for five months now. I'm actually sick of my stomach writing this. Still in shock and ashamed of myself for not hearing my son out earlier on his accounts of this day. I should have taken this more serious. I thought this he was maybe exaggerating. There was no way that this was all happening and happening daily. I'm so upset I could not advocate for my son sooner, but I am now. I was trusting in the school system, the staff, and the administration. I thought for sure that these children were misplaced, that they had been that they would get moved or they would get oneonone. Those things were changing and improving. Surely this is not what an inclusion

classroom is about. Our older son Cam is in an inclusion has been in an inclusion classroom for three years and has never heard anything like this. I thought that I would be hearing from someone at some point. I have not. Are any of these other children relaying this information to their parents? Are you letting the parents know what their child has been subject to for for the past five months on a daily basis? So now I need to know exactly what my son has been subject to and how often From the start of the year up until now, I am requesting to have a meeting with all the teachers involved, counselors, administration, and yourself. I very much seeking the change in complete support to ensure Cookie has access to a stable, productive learning setting with

a common classroom affair education. That solution cannot be to disrupt my son's placement by moving him. He shall not have to change classrooms in mid school years. I also do not want my son spoken to about this situation without me present. I would like specific strategies and guidelines for improving classroom, a new management plan, creating a more consistent structure that benefits all students including my son and to understand what action is going to be taken from here moving forward. to go to college which is right. I'm here to ask for your support and action solution to the ongoing situation in Cody's classroom. For seven months, the second grade class has been subject to a hostile and unsafe environment due okay due to uncontrollable aggressive behavior by multiple students. These incidents include physical assault, threats of

violence, outburst, destruction, and frequent evacuations. My my first reach out was to teachers on December 5th, 2025. My second reach out was on January 13th. I received a phone call back after my second reach out. That was all a brief discussion about working with the special ed department's timeline, an added aid, and some promises that it is being worked on. One of my concerns with all of this is that none of the classrooms parents have been notified about any of these conditions. Not even myself. I only know about these incidents because of the answers that my son gives after I asked them how was your day. Even after I asked to be notified anyone puts their hands on my son again, which it happened again and I was not notified. Never. Not even once. Our

children have been instructed to run away to the front of the classroom to stand on the reading carpet to put on noise cancelling headphones to block out the yelling and screaming to sit through it to try to ignore it. Sit it out until those children are done doing their thing or until they tire themselves out. Sit with it, watch it, wait it out, accept it. Cody told me that one of these children has has been removed from the classroom. He doesn't know it, but it was right after I spoke out on January 13th. And after I Cody told me that the child put his hands on Cody again, I was not notified in those next few days. When that kid was not present, it was one of Cody's one of Cody's best days. It was

a total change at Cody, but unfortunately, there's more than one child creating these problems. I am not sure what the consequences are and what is being used or that needs to be set in place. What is going to be the super bad thing that these children need to do in order for the adults to see that they are all unsafe? What happens if this child has access to a weapon? These children have already their hands on teachers, staff, other students. They have thrown chairs. They have thrown desks. They have thrown glasses, pencil cases, other students belongings, and really anything that they can get their hands on. They're described as angry and outraged. I would like to give you some news that's happening in our world today. The child who shot the teacher Abby Warner in

Virginia, that was a first grade student who was only six years old. Can this be the super bad thing that we're waiting for? Will the procedure still be for everyone to run to the front of the classroom and stand on the reading carpet or to get out try to get out to the hallway and stand there until he's done doing his thing? Or should we maybe start addressing these behaviors? Now Cody doesn't want to go to school some days and I have to try to figure out is this normal kid behavior? Is it just the school blues or is it because my child has been subject to an unstable violent nonproductive learning environment? Good evening, guys. 31 East Street, Florence. Clean up tonight. Somebody has to go third. Anyway, I'm here for Cody. Also, the

bottom line here, the current plan isn't working. Just today, a student in Cody's class threw a broken glass and then destroyed the classroom. I don't know if you guys chairs and desk and I believe that one of the teachers on the classroom students were removed to the hallway and again the disruptive student was left in a room. Apparently that's the protocol which I think we have to address. We understand safety comes first, but you need to consider alternative action to support these uh when these incidents occur. Uh due to current policies and procedures and a lack of action to prevent or contain these disruptions, the wrong message is being sent to our students. Violence in a classroom and disruptive behavior should not be considered normal. I personally believe disruptive students should be removed from the

classroom when it can be done safely. So you have a container situation rather than displacing the entire class which is your current procedure. A timeout area could be established in a classroom until a safe time to remove that student. In conclusion, we believe strongly in supporting all students, including including those facing behavioral challenges. At the same time, it is important that the broader classroom environment remain stable and conducive to learning. Our goal is to work collaboratively with the school to identify solutions that number one maintain safety maintain safety, number two minimize disruptive uh disruption to the class as a whole and number three provide appropriate support to students who need it. Thank you for your attention to this matter and for your continued commitment to all students. Thank you. Good evening members of the board.

My name is Jamie. I'm at 237 East Street in Florence. I'm a parent with second grade student Madison. I'm here tonight because I care deeply about the wellbeing of the students, teachers, and administrators in my school. I recently had Madison removed from Mrs. Lake's class. I have seen firsthand the challenges of Madison's class this year. She would come home daily talking about the disruptive and often dangerous behaviors, situations that are very difficult for one teacher to manage alone. Dust being thrown, students being physically assaulted by other students, the class being evacuated to another class while students are crying. This is a separate class from this one, by the way. Never was I informed of this by the school. The teacher for this class, who was a wonderful strong supportive teacher and has been for years

is now on leave and the staff has stepped into the same challenging environment with limited support. Our principal does her best to help, but she is responsible for the entire school and is constantly pulled in many directions. She is also reviewing graded work and updating the grade for this class on top of all of her other responsibilities. This classroom and school are in urgent need of support and a strong place to start would be adding a supervisor or vice principal to assist our principal staff. The last time our school had a supervisor was during the 2022 2023 school year and since then that layer of support has been missing. Our teachers, principles, and students would greatly benefit from restoring that leadership position. Supporting the adults in our building is not an extra. It's essential to

keeping our students safe and giving them a learning Thank you for your time. >> Anyone else for community form tip? Seeing no further community interest second please to close committee all those in favor due to student confidentiality I can't get into specifics but some additions that have been added include BCDA um additional supports in the classroom for ID requirements Um but we do hear you. Um we want the learning environment to be safe. Uh we will follow up with the administration. Um and I know there was a request. I was not here at the last meeting. I did address the parent via email in regards to the request. Um you know in regards to the reinstatement of the supervisor position for supervisor was rolled to be a district position. It is a director of curriculum.

So that's why it changed the uh school year. Um but we do want to recognize the um concerns that are noted from the public uh this meeting as well as the last meeting and further review. >> Thanks At this point, we're going to take a final break before the uh presentation of u the New Jersey school board's ethics training for the board. Thank you.
