At this time, can I please have Mrs. Bush come back down uh every year, a couple of times a year, our PTA generously donates grants to our staff um that write them. And Melissa's here just to talk for a moment about what they gave for the second cycle. So this

So the grants that we recently approved um for Shainer for Mrs. Crowder for the 36 self-contained special education students to go on a field trip to Bright Stars in Egg Harbor Township. Uh so for Shainer, we granted this time around over about $800 in grants for them. pest. The nurses also
asked for clothing, underwear, things like that for the same reason. So when kids have accidents and stuff, um Mrs. Pter uh for their PBIS, we're going to uh host one of their extravaganzas coming up later in the year. I don't necessarily want to give it to give it away, but we're hosting a an assembly for them. uh Miss Husta for Battle of the Books. And then for Davies, Mr. Sykes, for his woodworking club, we got him a huge heavy cabinet to store all of his supplies in. um a bunch of tools and things that can be used year after
year for his woodworking club. Mrs. Wilbert um for her self-contained classroom, we got her some functional uh I want to say like a broom, a mop, um a cash register box just so the kids can use learn some functional skills in daily living. And then Mrs. sing. We uh purchase self-care essentials. So, the girls that are a little bit more self-conscious about their hair, that want to wear their hoods up during the school day so we can encourage them to keep them down, she can work on them and increasing their self-confidence. So, for Davies, we did about 1,500 for this grant um time around. And we have one more coming up where we'll vote again in March for any staff member that put in. >> Thank you, Mrs. Bush. We appreciate her commitment to our school that makes a difference to anyone. [applause] Congratulations to all the teachers and staff members who made staff of the month. At this time, I would like to begin with the Shainer School and ask Lament to come up to introduce her uh educator of the year and the educational service professional of the year. Thank you. >> Thank you. Thank you to the board of education members and to you Dr. Zto for having us here this evening. for this very fun event. I would also like to um recognize Mrs. Brertonus who's helping me today in recognizing our
we are going to start with our teacher of the year and unfortunately so with that I would like to recognize Mrs. Suzanne Brunetta and Sue is [applause] here this evening with Mr. Brunetta and she's also here with her children. Um, and so if you want to come on down, I have a few things I'd like to say and I'd like you to be here with me when I say it. I can't see you when I look up. I, you know, I have to make a choice here. It's either see the paper or I guess I peer over the top. I guess that's what we do now. It is truly a privilege to recognize Mrs. Bernetta, an educator whose recognition today by her peer peers feels quite simply inevitable. For 21 remarkable years at the Joseph
C. Shainer Elementary School, Mrs. Brunetta has been a cornerstone of our primary education team. Her career is a masterclass in dedication defined by a commitment to cutting edge research-based instruction and an exemplary leadership style that elevates everyone around her. But beyond her professional expertise, it is Miss Brunetta's spirit that truly sets her apart. a culture of care. She exudes a genuine love of learning and a caring spirit that is felt by every staff member, every family, and most importantly, every student she encounters. She has a mastery of rapport. She possesses a rare and special gift for forging deep, respectful connections with her students. She doesn't just teach. She creates an environment that sparks excitement and ignites an intrinsic motivation for lifelong learning. And I was privileged today to observe that formally firsthand. A lasting legacy.
Educators of her caliber are rare treasures. The impact she makes isn't just for a single school year. It's an indelible mark on our students lives and our wider community that will be felt for generations to come. In any profession, being recognized by your peers and leadership, even once, is a profound milestone, a testament to one's dedication and impact. To receive such an honor a second time, however, is truly remarkable. It transitions from a career highlight to a rare achievement that is almost unheard of. It speaks to a level of sustained excellence and tireless commitment to our mission that doesn't meet the standard but consistently redefineses it. I along with anyone who has had the pleasure of working with you have been privileged to witness a legacy in the making. Congratulations Mrs. Bernetta. This honor is
a reflection of the profound excellence you bring to our halls every day. It is richly deserved and I feel blessed to have you a part of our staff. Thank you so much for everything you do. you. I could ask Mrs. Stecker to join us for our next recipient. Mrs. Stecker, come on down. And you're the next contestant. Just kidding. It's my pleasure to now introduce our educational service professional of the year, Dr. Amanda Kaine. Dr. Kaine joins Jo is joined this evening with her husband, Mr. Kaine, and her three lovely children who I had the pleasure of meeting earlier this evening. Stand up and wave. Hi everybody. There they are. They're so proud of mama. Here they come. It is an honor to recognize Dr. Dr. Amanda Kaine, an exceptionally skilled licensed physical therapist whose
impact resonates across our entire district. While she is being nominated for the Shainer School, Dr. Ka's expertise supports students from preschool through grade 8 in all three of our buildings. What makes Dr. Kaine truly remarkable is her ability to inspire. She works with students facing significant physical challenges, finding ways to make the most difficult tasks fun, engaging, and age appropriate. It's a testament to her character that the students faces light up when they see her, even though they know she's there to push them to working towards their best. Her work extends far beyond individual therapy sessions. For staff, she is a vital collaborator, helping teachers arrange classrooms and routines to ensure every student, regardless of their mobility needs, is included and supported. For families, she serves as a bridge, working handinand with parents and equipment
companies to ensure students have the tailored tools they need to succeed both at school and at home. Dr. Kane's leadership, innovation, and deep compassion make her an extraordinary professional. She's earned the respect and admiration of students, staff, and families alike, and is consistently sought after for her expertise in creating truly inclusive and accessible learning environments. Her dedication and positive impact that she has on our students make her a most deserving recipient of this recognition. Thank you very much for all that you do. [applause] >> [laughter] >> Brother, at this time it's my pleasure to introduce Mr. Cartwright, who will recognize the Hess school recipients. Thank you everyone. Good evening, Board of Education. It is my pleasure to represent the Hes school this evening and recognizing our staff members of the year. Two wonderful people who
are great advocates and carers of our students. Uh, first I'd like to recogni recognize our education service professional of the year. I'll say her name in a moment, but this person is well known for her work with our youngest students. I've had the privilege of working with her both at the Shainer School and and at the Hes school as she's worked to help them grow in their ability to use language. And as a speech pathologist, as a speech instructor, she works to help them build what I when I stop and visit her, I talk about the articulation work that she's doing. That's a a standing joke whenever I stop by her classroom or any of our speech teachers classrooms, but it it is really important critical work that she does for our students. In addition
to that, she's an incredible resource for our teachers. She has worked hard with our general education teachers to give them strategies to support students who might need some of her services. And uh the child study team is especially grateful for her lunches that she prepares in the microwave every day because of the pleasant salmon aroma that permeates through the child study team office. I would like to recognize u it is my honor to recognize Miss Kelly, Mrs. Kelly Pinnick. >> [applause] >> It is also my privilege this evening to recognize our teacher of the year at the H school. Uh, our teacher of the year is someone who cares passionately for our students, for her colleagues. She's a teacher leader, committed to helping teachers in numerous ways, including across her grade level as a grade
level chairperson. This teacher, I've had the privilege of being in her classroom a number of times, and it's always a joy to go in and see the work that she is doing with her students. Just today, uh, seeing the work, I walked in and she said, "Stop. You got to stay and listen to the work and the parents who have children for class really have a great teacher working with their students every day. Uh it is my privilege on behalf of the he school staff and and family to recognize Gail Marie Elliot as our teacher of the year. [applause] >> [applause] >> And I'd like to Call off Dr. Holmstrom to represent the Davy >> [laughter] >> Melanie, I get it. I can't read either. All right. So, it is my honor to introduce our
educational service professional of the year, Mr. Nick Latanzio. [applause] So, he has brought his family with him tonight. His sister Harley Wenborn and his niece Iris Wenmore. Give me [laughter] um and his mom who you may recognize because she works with our district as well and she is the reason why so many of us is are wearing yellow tonight because she had spread to a big shout out for our bus drivers today. Um so we're all in yellow so you can see where he gets his passion from from his mom. So Mr. Latanzio is someone who brings energy and positivity and heart to our school every single day. As a par professional, he plays an essential role in supporting our students learning, modeling strong instructional practices and working collaboratively with teachers and fellow prayer professionals.
His calm presence, his encouragement and professionalism make a real difference in the classroom. What truly sets Mr. Leanzio, or as the kids call him Mr. connect sometimes. Um, apart is his dedication beyond the school day. He does so much for our students. He coaches volleyball. He leads our student team, a student team for a football frenzy event. And he remains deeply committed to our students long after they left our building. He went to Cedar Creek, if you aren't aware, they won the championship this year. And he was at every single game because those were his students and he gained those connections with them. So, when I tell you he's incredible, right there, that tells you he's something special and we're lucky to have him. He He takes the time to travel, support former students, including,
like I said, the state championship winners, showing them that their success matters even when they walk out of our doors. Mr. Latanio is a role model for students and colleagues. He's positive, and that positivity is contagious. His commitment is completely unwavering and he believes in our students. He genuinely believes in our students. He helps create a school culture where students feel supportive, encouraged, and proud to be part of something and that something is in Mr. Latanzio's life and they love him for it. We are so grateful for him, his dedication. We are proud to recognize him as our educational service provider of the year, Nicholas Hanzio. [applause] Iris is on her sixth cookie. Just so everybody knows, >> girl. So, the next person I'm going to call, it is truly a pleasure to introduce our
teacher of the year, Miss Ratis. I would be aiss if I did not quote Mr. Allen and call you Miss Rodici. So, Miss Ratis is an outstanding seventh grade math teacher whose impact is felt far beyond numbers. We're facetiming some fellow staff members. >> Sorry, her co- teacher wanted me to FaceTime her when this happened. >> Put this on. Miss Ratis is an outstanding seventh grade math teachers whose impact is felt far beyond numbers and equations. Her classroom is a place where students feel supported, challenged, and confident in their ability to succeed. She has a remarkable talent for making math accessible and engaging with some of us know that that is not easy. She helps students understand not just how to solve problems, but why learning matters. Miss Ratis works closely with students. She works
with some of our special education students, ensuring that every learner is supported while still being held to high expectations through thoughtful differentiation, patience, and consistency. She helps make students make meaningful academic growth and develop confidence in themselves as learners. Her students knows that she believes in them and that that belief shows in their progress. Beyond academics, Rick, Miss Ratis plays a key role in shaping literally the heart of our school. As the adviser of our kindness club, she empowers students to lead with empathy, inclusion, and respect. Through her guidance, students learn that kindness truly matters and that their actions positively impact others. The quotes that you see on our building, she painted. Miss Ratis brings dedication, compassion, and excellence and to everything she does. Her family was not able to be here because she is
also a mom and they are playing basketball. So, we hope they do well. But, Miss Radish, congratulations. She represents the very best of our profession and we are proud to honor her as our teacher dragon of the year. Thank you. Okay, congratulations to all of our teachers of the year and educational education service professionals. At this time, we will take a brief 10-minute intermission to celebrate um with their families and the treats provided by PTA. So, we'll see you in 10 minutes. >> Okay. >> Welcome back. A special shout out to our buildings and grounds team for their long hours and constant problem solving during the storm. And to our teachers, support staff, and administrators for doing what you always do, showing up, staying flexible, and keeping things calm for kids, even when weather is anything but calm. On the operational side, thanks to uh our BA Chris, for his continued work on the budget. It is detailed and and is complex, but it's absolutely essential to projecting our programs and planning responsibility.
