Ross Hebert have initiated an updated reports demographers report since the last one we have in 2016 dr. April once again a cesspool or any other available instructional space in each school with that come to a cohort assessment to ascertain updated enrollment this will include any updated numbers as a result of additional development since 2016 he's also asked to meet with the mayor and his mom to understand that in normal future development including any of the affordable home we

do expect to have a draft report from dr. Hoover for the January board education meeting and we will then be scheduling our third can't believe it's already the third joint order of Commission matters Planning and Zoning Board meeting hopefully for February what we have done in the past of these meetings is present the district enrollment by residential address identified different housing units apartments single-family and multi-family and again getting a assessment from variable space and recommendations this report also gives us the updated information necessary for us to determine whether we would need two or three trailers as I mentioned every board meeting so far it is necessary for us to have that information and time to contract by the first week in March to be able to have those available for use in September additionally we

have as I have reported every board meetings I think close to here you can do regular meetings on safety and security we continue to add layers to our protocols toward the last part weaning you didn't see the contracts for a number my toes that were identified as well as did four security monitors that RFP is ready to go for January and the expects name upon that event or those are four monitors that are under four they are middle school and high school to be able to be at the secure entrances and again to be able to be used for extracurricular activities extended day and after school additionally we have already started the work by the bathrooms wires all the student and staff by these are in place if you were in attendance at basketball game

and you didn't see me kicked off the permitted and non-permitted items per district events with our winter sports season here in this very cocky and you know an event before last weekend we're also a pursuant to the contracts for the kiosks that'll be that secure entrances starting probably with the middle school and high school and extending to all the schools those are the kiosks we discussed again multiple meetings where your ideas is shown in that kiosk it prints out the paper ID with your picture it does to a background and security check and it is another way as Danny said additionally tonight we have recommended recommendations for personnel we are recommending safe school resource officers for the middle school of high school were also as part of the other half of our commitment which was

to look at mental health or wellness we are also naming a new coordinator for school counseling in k-12 tonight I'm very excited that we this much progress I know that it years he was like almost year it's ten months seems like a long time but every recommendation we were making we have a lot of confidence in and we're really proud that the work we've done again increases our layers priority detail by Bullock in a letter to the community tomorrow so if I spoke too fast tonight that we have a lot the agenda is something you will be able to see that in writing tomorrow when the board does both also introduce our new personnel and tell you just a little bit about I get to introduce just finally it's the best time of the year

our recycler Terry mrs. Cardenas normally during this evening's meeting there is the public presentation of the comprehensive and financial report from the district's auditors this year the governmental Accounting Standards Board issued some new titles for reporting of post employment benefits other than pensions that requires a lot of additional work from the State Division of Treasury and of course they have not been able to put all this information together in time for the annual audit which normally would be due into the state around December 5th this new guidance is relative to the reporting of health benefits for retirees so this data is does not impact the district's general fund budgetary schedules Moore doesn't have any financial obligation to the district however it has to be included in this comprehensive report so therefore the state has pushed

back the date as to when the final reports will be concluded originally they thought it would be done by December 21st but they've had to push it back even further so now it's four weeks the Department of Treasury issues the data so that the auditors captain and the report after which the auditors will come in make the presentation whether it's going to be at the January or February meeting will depend upon when this data is released and we are renewing the Bennett card which is an optional prescription plan that we offer to staff and we are able to along with our broker who are able to receive a renewal for two years at no additional cost [Music] and from everyone in the business office we would just like to wish everyone a happy holiday season

Merry Christmas and we wish everyone the very best in the new year good health happiness and making during our wonderful memories thank you my name is James we're going to turn it over to our student representative mr. oh man so I'm just gonna recap what we've been up to the high school and things we're doing right now and things were planning so we had the Board of Ed members invited by the and Club to discuss school security I think it's two weeks ago anomalies last week we had the energist toy truck where we collected toys of all week image from his hospital in Newark and then this Friday had a party in the cards for the kids this week we're celebrating spirit week today was holidays pajama neck tomorrow's winter white out so we're wearing

our way Wednesday's holiday colors silver green white and blue red green black etc there's a scarf thing and Fridays esta Friday and then we're also moving ahead with any just games day and the NHS day of service so when the things for this year is service in the others camaraderie so the day of service we're kind of having students reach out to businesses or organizations in the community to kind of organize a day where we're all going to instead of going to school volunteer and help out our community whether that's sponsoring it end up down the service bureau or helping clean up the parks and then the event that goes hand-in-hand with that as the NHS games day and this is kind of a field day for students to celebrate everything they've accomplished during the

year and it's going to be friendly competition between the grades right now are actually having at the NHS games day logo contest in the high school so we're having a lot of students give proposals for what they think should be the logo for the day and then the winner wins points for the competition and they also get to have printed on the t-shirts that are gonna pay for the whole school and then what we're planning right now is also the Native Nations and that's going to be Thursday February 7th at 5 p.m. in the cafeteria that's all thank you mister amendment ok so we're going to take a few minutes here to open up I'm going to start and we're going to extend it to the board members as well as anybody in the public

who would like to make any comments to the board members that this will be their final meeting this evening I'm gonna I'm gonna read what I wrote I don't want to lose the impact of it and I can get caught up and not really sending the message that I want to send with this so Betty clients that were that thank you for your many years of service or the nothing Board of Education we work together representing our community and overseeing many demanding challenges in our landscape view people fully understand the scope and far-reaching implications part responsibilities and you truly have made a difference every day with your passion and dedication to our students and community I am honored to consider each of you a colony and a friend each of you who contributed many hours

to establish a vision for the education program oversee a structure to achieve that vision assure our schools are accountable to the community and most important strongly advocate for continuous improvement in student learning that job entails an endless stream of meetings and school functions to attend reports agendas proposals and other information to read and study and then to discuss the deliberate of hosting billable decisions that impact our students and community to finally build our position and our other meanings the time commitment leader for the role of a board member is often unknown to the public and each of you will put in countless hours to support our students and staff at events throughout town for your engagement with our schools and with our community thank you you have generously given yourselves to ensure that decisions directly

affected our schools are made by representative and often we are challenged with a little pressure and special interests but managed to make the best choices based on facts and information you've always done we believe is most beneficial and sustainable for the long term your ultimate goal has always been focused on the future success of our chosen in our district and we applaud your willingness to serve is that as virtual in the voices of public education it has been the passion trust and loyalty we've given to each other throughout the years have enabled this board to accomplish so much and as a token of the wonderful work of volunteering your series that we've provided for the years on this board we would like to present you what they get for your service not everyone has the

desire to put in the time to be a volunteer but as an it is so important to our community and when you volunteer you vote every day about the kind of community while I'm giving these out anymore members like babies pastors that I'll speak and then we'll just work our way down Karen and everybody else so I'm also reading Mike mostly so I don't get emotional the people we surround ourselves with either raise or lower our standards they either help us to become the best version of ourselves or encourage us to become lesser versions of ourselves we become like our colleagues if we're lucky our colleagues become like friends our friends become like family no man accomplishes all of us almost no woman accomplishes on her own it's the people they surround themselves with the

people that they're sitting next to time after time day after day that help them progress helps them move from good to great we all need people in our lives who raise our standards remind us of our purpose and challenges to become the best version of ourselves I've been blessed for the past two and a half years to sit next to these nine people who consistently raised me up who have consistently raised the bar and who I've spent more time with than my own family this year marks my 20th year in education I've worked with many iterations of words of education both elected and appointed this group is by far unique and special to have a team of nine diverse and despair voices come together with no other agenda than to provide the best education possible

do things for children but things receive leaders throughout all the time period I think I'm probably older heritage reportedly ratifies the president has been a constant supporter of this municipality since the name and I got involved in the tension there's not a project that's come for others for referendums in the past that haven't worked on things that are supported throughout the district the parade the st. Patrick's Day parade for sure Brendan your witness you were great in your counseling I was bothered my lawyer on the board to be able to give us guidance and we debated a lot but always came up with a great answer so Brad that was you can employ the faculty thank you for your service then the second most damning item back lower back to the Union detained a parades

and many different functions in town there has always been one of those people I don't think the tray and dinner an event that I could show up that he was not there supporting the youth list and actually speak your mind once you wanted to behind the door and enclose the word of the Lord those disagreements in the back on the rotisserie but I want the count on the Reverend here I've just got to throw that out be together but she has been a star work on working in his district the time we have the chip was in I want to thank you throw some Debbie I have to go to my next so I met Ryan I think I was tolling the legislature prime rib for the Boyd the first time and I met and

and and telling me you can't do that job and thank you how to do it and I think I you know I find your direction when it comes to those type of issues and I've missed out at you but and we're talking like we've got we're going to see each other we're going to be around were all involved in a lot of the same activities so but I do appreciate the time and energy to give to the board so I appreciate your candor and that's that's a good thing that's a good thing no I noted for speaking my piece and authority and it's nice to have me or anyone associated with you pretty much knows where they stand I'm listed with you I appreciate something at fault when I apply the brings as very mentioned

into the water it's it's nice to have an academic adviser on our Board of Education who raise the academic input into the system that we're working on trying to make better so I've always appreciated Brian's academic the Krauss and as a person I'm not going to issue because I'm going to see Debbie I feel that we're getting divorced Debbie and I are at so many functions sometimes I know that wonders and I know the rain wonders what we're doing with do what's best for children we put in a time and I wish I know this one friend that said Debbie I want to thank you on behalf of my family as well as our community for all the hard work you put in under your time you are the board if you don't if you're
