We just need to add that we're voting to a motion to approve as volunteer assistant coach country 267 volunteers. Okay. So, we have our financials. We have the general fund expenditure, school lunch expenditure, lunch reports, and extracurricular reports for April. In your packet this week, any questions? Did you have anything comments? >> All right. So, we have presentation. We have visual education athletic director Aaron Chambers. >> Hello everyone. at least two notes as well side as this year we did a little different department and I took a a major lead on the elementary side and I took the middle school and high school side education department we started off the year really with a lot of fun getting the kids back in the routine being school and reintroducing them to things of the kids heart

challenge we also had the great opportunity of having a student teacher Matthew who is with us from Portland. The kids loved him. He had a great job, great time here. He jumped right in, introduced the kids to a lot of fun stuff. And after he left, he found a way to keep the kids interested in some of the outdoor activities that he was doing. He actually did the Appalachian Trail, I believe, is what came with hiking. He started still continuing. So, he was able to send in and keep the kids approached for this trip as they went off. how to just keep that connection with these kids who who ask them every day come back and all those fun things. So we do hope to do that more often than the post for student teachers

to give them an opportunity because we feel we have a great diversity of students and different levels and skill levels and all those things and give a student teacher the opportunity to really jump right in and get involved and see what the PE life is all about. Ali Bloss Hospital and we get a lot of things through grants, a lot of equipment. So this year the the big grant was used to get us nine square in the air which our student board members can attest has been a lot a lot of fun the last few weeks that we've we've had it and I'm sure if any of you have gone around in the back of the building and seen it. It's the blue plastic squares that are up out there. It's it's a lot of

fun. We use it with every grade level, even our prekers to kind of give them the idea of their spatial awareness, how to do something over something else and develop those handic coordination. Um using that grant as well, you're able to help the elementary teachers during the park program and give jump ropes to all the students who participated in that which helps to less car challenge which used to be called jump rop but is now just a guitar challenge trying to get the kids to move and be active outside the classroom as well as speed. We even got the opportunity to have prek twice a week which was blended in with our third grade class to have those kids be able to see and mirror the older kids and what it takes to be a

part of the fizz program and what it's like to have a fizz curriculum and and doing different activities obviously diversified for that age group and skills fundamental skills as well as functional skills was a lot a lot of fun and then we had the luxury of having a winter Olympics so we catered a lot of our winter units to the activities that were happening can tie in their classroom with the outside world things like curling and speed skating. We did a boba even with some of the older elementary school and some of the high school classes. We use the mats and scooters work as a bo team and that idea of building that teamwork around the Olympics and what it takes to maybe aspire to some of those outdoor goals and things. Also has been

planning through and looking at what we have done and what we would like to do. She's really looking to possibly begin something she's calling taco nights. So take a kid outside and take a drive outside to encourage our kids to be active once they're outside school building instead of just going home and getting right on their screens or playing video games and all those things. trying to also tie in the community and allowing the kids to take advantage of what a beautiful place we live in. Like using the mountain biking trail, using cross country ski hikes and and those community events to kind of just continue that child's level of physical activity and lifelong activity for the high school side of mine. I kind of mirrored a little bit of what Ally did unit stylewise

with bringing in nine squares. We have over the last few months and few weeks. We also did a lot of the Olympic games and things of that nature. The main focus was a lot of times on team sports which a lot of our student athletes participate in building those communication skills teamwork building all those things and learning and they have you have a team with somebody you may not be the best they're friends with but as long as you're striving towards something you can make it work building on those skills they learn through the elementary PD program and continuing that as well as as they all love doing the New York State physical fitness testing so bridge pull-ups than our main the mile run and the the lovely pacer test. We did that twice this

year which we had full participation when the kids were physically able to do so and we did actually see a large majority of the students seeing progress and bettering their sports the second time around. maybe it becomes something that they're more prepared for with just doing other sports or being autistically active with with their lives and things like that. So, it was really cool to see that we had such strong participation throughout the high school as well seeing that progress and some of these kids feeling that success that I can conquer physical assessing as much as it is a requirement and can be a little bit of challenge, something that's fun that they can set their own goal and try to meet four feet something along those lines. Um, again just highlighting a lot of

the things we did this year and New York State just been assessing that from the air. We didn't think it was going to be as big of a hit as it was when we first got it, but it has taken a hold of a lot of the kids in every grade and they play and even when like Max and Claire, they have the opportunity to take the kids outside, they get to utilize that piece of equipment and and a lot of those kids are drawn to it. There's always a line waiting to to get into that first square and work their way all the way up to that 90th square. Of course, Trist had the luxury of being the winner this year of our volleyball tournament, beat the teachers and everybody else. You see not

enjoying, but that is the fun that we always like to do and kind of breaking in and rounding out that first step with some fun before the holiday break. So, it went well. A lot of large teams and staff members are going to have to start practicing a little senior for next year. Um the biggest wellness initiatives we're trying to kind of continue obviously down and partnering with hospital is going to be a big one again trying to just continue the growth of that and involvement of all our area kids as well as continuing the other one New York State has been assessing and hoping the kids can continue to see that growth from their seventh grade year all the way up until their senior year is setting those goals and striving to to meet

Um, moving to our athletics program and overall we had a great season. I think many of you had attended at least one or more events here, whether it be our soccer fest or some of the things that we did this winter. Starting in the fall, great accomplishment. We can all, you know, we can all agree on every one of our teams at all levels won an inac race or anything of those nature. So, we we got to see everybody get into the wincom this fall, which was huge and very encouraging for the future. Our varsity girls merger with North Lauren went relatively well overall. I mean, obviously, we had some hiccups that we worked through and I think some of us here can attest to that. Obviously Joe being here and Sarah being a huge

supporter on that side can attest to how the girls kind of blended together and really truly became that one team supporting one another and having our senior night over there for us to recognize their time as North Warren student athletes as well as welcoming them into the North War athletics world and then giving our under the light soccer fest senior honories and things like that and that had some huge accomplishments that we can discuss a little Later we had a lot of all stars. We had Lex and Lucia make it for the first team girls and then we also had a few on the second team. We had Sharp and Smith from North was a representative for us as well on the Allstar team. Um Lucy has set a career record at 748 seats as

a year here at Johnsburg. So, we were able to honor her with a plaque that will be going into the the trophy cases and and all that forever. It is a large number. We would love to see something come close, but I think is going to hold that for quite some time. And then on the way side, we did we had another strong turnout number wise. Tristan and Rome can attest preseason was extremely fun this year with having two weeks. So every other day we got to take the boys over and and run a little more, do some some conditioning, which I think actually paid off very well for us. We were fighting for the number one seat in our division this year. In the end for those at Soccer Fest, saw it slip through

our fingers with a last minute goal right at the end. Maybe a portion of throw insane, but it was a great regular season. We continued that excitement into our first sectional game that we ended up hosting here against Roan Valley. It was rather exciting. We uh went down 3-0 early in the first half and were able to call our way back and score the time goal pushed to overtime with less than a second on the clock. So that was incredibly exciting for all to be involved. And then they went into PKs and a couple rounds of that and unfortunately got short with Nicholas making making a save and then they scored round on us unfortunately not capitalizing on our last opportunity. Golf we have two participants of our golf team here as well. It seemed

to have gone well from what I've heard. It's another great opportunity for us to be merged with North giving our Connecticut athletes another fall opportunity to participate in the sport. So, we think we would we're hoping that they continue to move on through our country team. The girls were our co league champions. They ended up having a three-way tie for the league championship this year. We had a few all stars. First being Ray Morrison's first speed and then the boys also placed well in that last final race was missing out on ODM by as they say a few lengths but for that it was a lot of fun. Our modified teams we had some great great turnout on all of our teams. They also some success and a lot of opportunities to grow and develop

their skills which we're hoping to carry on with the new modified merger and maybe full program merger with North strengthening those numbers and build competitive program moving forward. Our winter sports again another great season. We were able to get all of our teams to have a victory which is again huge and something that we can we always want to highlight that our teams are putting together all those skills that we learned in practice and preseason executing on the floor. Nordic especially this this past winter we had a lot of talent on our team and they were recognized for that Jameson Connor and square who is one of our North representatives all were a part of the state team and whether it was a full participant or as an alternate and then Jameson May was awarded

the athlete of the year by the Empire State which is a huge honor getting that recition and being able to earn some money towards maybe entering some other races outside of the disc offerings, which again, we'd love to see our kids finally sport they love and being incredibly successful, which they have and we'll have the opportunity to do again this this winter. Modified again saw a lot of success and development throughout the season. At times, obviously, as modified seasons go, you have those hiccups, but I think overall, our staff handled a lot of the things that came up and handled our our kids and helped them be the best they could be and and got what they could out of them. On the varsity side, our girls team had four wins and multiple allars, which

is great to see that trend kind of turning as we've seen in the past. a little struggle in that area, but to have those few wins and get a lot of our younger girls. That team is very, very young. I think we have four freshman on that team, two of which started towards the end of the season. Um, we had an honorable mention, a first team and a second team from that team from our division. Our varsity team was able to see it for a second straight 10 win season and hosted another sectional was huge for us. ended up making it to the quarterfinals and ended up having to play Wells who played for the finals against Poland later state champion. We had a few accomplishments this past season and a few more hopefully upcoming

this next year next hour. Joan was able to report his thousand points. So, he's one of few here who have done that in their career with a year left. We're excited to see what he can do as well as some of the younger guys on our team. His younger brother obviously the potential of doing that with a four-year varsity career McKini is also very close to that as well with a few years left on varsity. That being said, Nick was the first team allstar second team and as was the team both getting recognition for their great season this winter. our spring season. Again, we started off we all won. Every team had a win this year, which is a great a great sign for future or modified teams. We did have some some hiccups here

and there just whether it be commitment and then our equipment as Joe with testing and things of those nature, but once they all put it together on the field, we did get to see some success and the kids have a lot of fun and and work together to achieve their goals of of coming out on top on a few of our games, whether that be on the girls side or boys side. On the varsity side, we had our girls finished number three overall in the league, which allowed them to host a sectional game, which was a high scoring affair there. And at the same time, the boys who are our league champions this year, undefeated in the league, hosted throughout the the playoffs for sectionals. Also had a great first round game here, a great

second round game here against Shay. Um, unfortunately falling short in the sectional finals against Bolton, but to achieve a number one overall seed as well as an undefeated regular season is a huge accomplishment and a testament to all the boys on the team as well as earning a number two overall ranking in New York State baseball. Was a huge accomplishment for the boys and a lot of a lot of guys leaving and a lot of guys come back. So we should have another great season ahead of us next spring. Nick Sar Jones was named MVP and Jeremiah were all named to the first team as all and Jake Sour Jones was again named co- coach of the year for our team this year. And as you guys can look, I'm not going to run through

it in a whole lot of detail. We did break down all of our participation numbers based on school just throughout the season, fall, winter, and spring. We're really hoping we can we can get that repetition to come in and and make a big difference and add a few more numbers to us just to help us help us out. We do have some that that show up all three seasons and some that come and go, but they do they do bring a lot to our team. So, You always want to recognize that contribution. Overall, as I've mentioned throughout, we had a lot of career accomplishments throughout this school year throughout these athletic seasons. First maj who achieved his 100 career 100th career points in soccer and then also became the alltime leading scorer in school history

based on points. Um Blake Lauren also achieved the 100 roll or 100 career point guard and he is creeping up very quickly on Mason to become the alltime mentor by the time he's done. And then we had Nick Jones who eclipse 350 saves. As I mentioned earlier, Lucia had nearly 750 career saves here at John's yard. And then our boys varsity soccer hosted sectional games. Very exciting. We came in second in that division. Nearly seconds away from taking that first place spot. And the winner Nick Jones achieved his thousand point was named division three for speed second team. One of our student athletes was named John. Anna our team is named first team on the girls side was named second team. Michelle Williams also named second team Mill was named honorable mention for the girls

state and our division a state team alternate empire state cont. We also had a coaches versus cancer game attended earlier in the year at home ring which was a great experience for the guys to play on a regulation size college. It's a little daunting in the first half of get that adjustment but it was great. Our girls teams hosted a coach versus cancer basketball game here a nice pink game and all the proceeds going to go into the coach cancer fund. Our spring sports as I mentioned made quite a few all stars on the girls side. We see Williams who was named to softball first team. Lexi Sharp also a first team allstar. Hannah Sharp and Megan McKini both the second team. Um just to touch on our merger. Um we do have a mix

of a few different whether it's a two school or a preschool. So our full program obviously athletics wise is what partner there are things obviously as we go through these and every brings different challenges but I think over the last year and a half since I've been here we've seen a lot of improvement throughout whether it be with the successes of our team our communication between the districts our communication with the public we still want to encourage and create a larger pool of student athletes who are coming out for our teams just so we can expose all these kids and maybe have them find something they truly love and grasp on to and be a part of outside of just the classroom. We do want to continue to give our student athletes the best opportunity

to find the best facilities and as we can possibly provide heard all the issues and address as many as we possibly could as quickly as we could. So, we hope to continue to do that as we go forward with a lot of our murders whether it be our facilities here, our facilities at Manurville or as partner with Northmore and joining in with a lot more of our athletic programs. We want to really work towards that. Again, we want to just work towards achieving a lot of our sportsmanship goals. We want to really instill in our student athletes as well as our fans and community supporters that we have to win with dignity in class and lose with a little bit of humility. There is always in every event there's going to be a winner and

there's going to be a loser. So, we have to be able to hand whatever outcome we receive. And since my time here, I was warned and everybody knows we've had our hiccups in the past. But I think since I've been here, from what I've seen, we we are trending in the right direction. We are moving forwards and we have even been recognized by a lot of our our other teams and opposing coaches that we are doing the right thing, saying the right thing, acting the right way in many situations that could have potentially gone athletics. I think seeing that and continuing to make that a huge focal point of the athletic department on every team regardless of level is just we're going to continue to see that improve as well as just focusing on our

development of our athletes. I mean yes wins and wins and championships and all those things are great. They look great on the walls of the gym and trophies and trophies. But the biggest thing is just we want to develop our kids into great student athletes, great people, great teammates. And that's really the biggest goal we have in the athletic department. Looking ahead, obviously goals for the next level is to continue to improve our development, whether it be a modified team and bringing in these new mergers and working with our other neighboring communities to build us a very strong and successful and big athletic program that holds some longevity and can can last for many years to come and and just create some great bonds between all of our communities. Um, we also wanted to continue

to tie in our PE department with our athletic department. Whether that be introducing some of the sports we play here, our P units or introducing new things that we can bring into our PE department from the outside to just again instill that lifelong activity for our student athletes. Um, looking ahead as well, um, the biggest thing is soccer fest is going to be the next big event that's happening for our athletic department. That will be the 16th and 17th of October. It is the reverse of last season. So, the boys will be playing Friday night and girls will be playing Saturday night. And we do tentatively have an opponent who wants to mark their calendar. Right now, we'll be facing Willsboro. They have in formula we'll have all four teams. So, that'll be great. We

won't have to mix mix and match with my new brows. We will all have one. That's any questions. >> What happened to Diamond Fest? Diamonds with this the spring season being such a weather nightmare in a sense and actually being so short in comparison to a lot of our seasons, it just became more of a challenge to try to fit that in and pushing leaking and may be able to just happen naturally. And we know that it's part of the community. is something that we may bring back just this past season with switching from two divisions, excuse me, and three divisions that they've wrestled with these last few years. The NBA went to a one division where we played everybody home and home. So that extended release schedule to kind of push where we could

go with just a regular date, whether it be having a team go three games in a row or just adding actually late the season before didn't really fit into the schedule. >> I just wanted to say I think athletic department's doing a great job. I did I know I think we're going to discuss it later but about the um help that we received getting our fields ready from community members I know it's something we discussed in our um committee about possibly finding somebody be that facilities manager getting the fields here in are ready to go. Um but I thought this year as a spectator um she looked great shade and we have some people and thank for that. Um and just as a personal observation every time I've been in the school and like walked

around during the day I just hear the constant laughter and obviously the kids are having a blast in the gym so and outside if you're outside and I think that's really good. So thank you for that. I see on here budget items. >> Yeah, you touched on those. So the biggest one I know we put in in our budget and stuff on it. So the first one being the soccer goals. Um just in my time here just looking at them and worn down talking to some people who were alumni Joe being one of them and and a few other people that the just been around for a very very long time and it usually is the first that the officials see the first thing that they checked when no one was happening that hey these

pipes are are broken open and could potentially become a safety hazard and things of that nature. So just again as we said before too giving our student athletes the best facilities and the best possible equipment to play on. That was really something I I fought for and brought into the the conversation of updating our soccer clubs. This again made our facilities and and our grounds look that much nicer and with the successes that we had. I think it it goes to show that we reward the kids for their hard work and dedication. And we are thinking of them when we make our plans with the athletic department. It's not we're just going to go as we go and and hope for the best. Continue to upgrade and continue to to better the department. That's all.

So that is put in your budget. >> It was >> and then again the softball drags, baseball drags. I think Sarah touched on it a little bit with getting help when we needed it to just make sure the fields were ready and getting ready and things like that. Whether it be having some of the town guys come over, having our facilities and custodial staff help out with that. Pet actually was kind enough to bring us a dragon uses which made the process a lot easier because which wasn't something I was known for known to me was we were using vents cinder block to drag our field. So just to again just update our equipment just to have some things that may have a little more life in them to assist with using that and again

I know that it may be a discussion where it becomes a working partnership with the town that we can borrow theirs rather than than purchasing our own but I wanted that to be built in at least as many as transfer as we could what we would like to see what we would like to spend as as we go forward into into the future of the athletic And then the next obviously again with the baseball fields um like with our hill the way that our fields are set up a lot of the the posts that hold our fence up been broken or just over overtime wear and tear work trying to make some athletic plays things like that going through the fence things like that. So just another update and another a safety feature that we

can we can put into effect that will again help the appearance but also help the functionality of our fields with some newer equipment and things that will will last us a little bit longer. So there are there's something that I found that would that was also put into our athletics budget and something to be discussed as we move forward. And then these are obviously the last a wish list, which I've been saying Heather can attest to it since I got here. A new gym and as much as we love Claire and Max and the shared space, giving them a place for them to shine would be a huge win for us the department and obviously music and coral department to to have their own spaces and really let the kids thrive in their own environments,

whether that be the PD and athletic world or music and coral. And it fits to you just very all works out. >> Okay. Thank you. Thank you for the details. Took all the questions that we ask every year and put them in. Anybody else have any questions? >> Um, now we got a and max to talk about our music department. >> All right. Well, well, to start off, um, kind of piggybacking on what Mr. Changer said, um, I must say, um, that I want to give a big thank you to him and to Mrs. for being very very accommodating with using the space because especially with elementary concerts the schedule varies and it uh band rehearsals do take place during elementary classes and um they've been very very flexible with us using the space and

uh during varying times I mean luckily uh Johnsburg has had a tradition of having music classes alternating with lunch so you know uh athletics and music have never conflicted with each other during those times. But there are many times during the year where we are sharing the space and we want to you know us the music department don't only want to see our students succeed in our world but we want to see them succeed academically and uh in the world of athletics and sports as well. So I really got to give it to Mr. Chamblers and Escania. and very wonderful and flexible and uh looking at the bigger uh picture of like allowing our students to shine in their respective areas is very very important especially looking outside of our home and looking at the

child every child here is the whole child not just in the realm of which you oversee it. So thank you guys for that. Um so Miss James and I are going to go over just a couple highlights from this year and give you just a little bit of insight of what to look forward to for next year. So the first thing that happened this year was our area state uh arts or music and that happened at theater. We had five students attending the high school level and this was a great weekend. The students got to work with um students all the way from ironics all the way down to all the schools in between. Um they got to work there and had a great experience. It was a beautiful concert and Um students are still

talking about it now. It's a great great weekend and um so that happened in November of this past year and I did class for two days of rehearsal and I'll pass on to Max talk a little bit just wrap up. It's a beautiful opportunity for students to be able to perform in that space at Proctor's because uh Milt Lee who is the director of Saratoga Music Park for many many years since he retired zone 7 um essentially the the the NISMA zone that encapsulates the capital region up to us as the the further furthest northern point of that zone has made a decision. And it's like if we're going to get kids together at that level, let's give them the opportunity to perform at like a very esteemed venue where Proctors, you know, for anyone

that's that's been it's like, you know, if unless you're going to New York City for Broadway, that's really the next best thing around. So just just to walk into that space and to look at the architecture and to just be a part of it, it's an amazing thing. So for our kids to be able to to to do that in our zone is is really really cool. And uh you know, you feel when you're in that space for sure, you can feel the history. So, really cool um for our kids to go um we honored the holiday tradition um on the you know that weekend of December 5th through the 7th. We had our pop singers participate in the light song ceremony uh and we had our stage band play at the uh Terry Khan

holiday celebration. We also had uh Anna Sharp and Austin Cooper working together to perform whole holy night on both days which is always a lovely uh um piece of that weekend tradition. But while we were uh doing that, Miss SS was actually in Rochester with Hudson Dunley who had the esteemed honor of being accepted uh in the vocal jazz um group for conference all state and he was one of I believe was it 16 >> 16 total participants across all of New York State. So and uh Miss wanted to share a little bit more on that. >> Yeah, had a wonderful experience that weekend. He learned a lot was a small group. Um but the concert was beautiful. Really high level musicianship. So one of our students there and then Hudson had the opportunity actually

in March to perform again with this group at George Shifter day which is a celebration of music in our schools month and this happened in Albany. So they did it at the capital and Hudson got perform a solo actually for um state legisl teachers from all across the state and it was really wonderful experience for them. So that was that from the beginning of March and then at the end of March we had our variety here and we had acts this year and um everything from singing to instrumental music to students performing their own compositions. We had dancing comedy acts and was fun. It was a good experience and I think every talk about our competition. >> Absolutely. Well, the variety show is such a neat opportunity to see students. There's always those sleepers that

will surprise you and uh you know there's always those select acts that we remember as a community just like seeing those kids having the opportunity to express themselves in that way for the first time when it's something that they may have silently been working on on their own and then having an opportunity to express that talent and having the bravery and the courage to get on stage and do that. I mean, especially as a D7 to be in seventh grade and to get on a microphone alone in front of an audience like that, just that feeling. If it were me, like, forget it. When I was in seventh grade, you know, so to see some of these kids go up and just doing that, it's just the start of a really exciting journey for them.

And uh, you know, it it was awesome. And when uh these fellas played Pearl Jam, I mean, that was awesome. What a highlight. It was just so cool. I mean, and uh you know, we we know of their talents, but uh you know, for Katie to get up there and and for it to be such a wonderful tribute for to his father as well to be up there. I mean, it it is a really special moment and there's those like emotional moments that are attached to it as well. So, very nice. So, um yeah, our competition very very pleased with the results. I mean, a couple years ago, uh, we we we worked under the same umbrella foundation of the music in the parks and we were in Six Flags New England for the last

one. Uh, this time we went a little further away to Hershey Park, Pennsylvania, and uh, I'm very pleased that uh, we came home with the same accolades that we did last time. um stage band came home in the first place with the superior distinction and pop singers came home in the first place with the excellent distinction and scored a little bit better than than last time. Um, so overall, um, a huge win and I hope the kids now that it's all said and done, it's a long bus ride home, a longer bus ride than some of them have probably ever been on. Um, and, uh, hopefully now that's all said and done, they're really, really proud of their efforts and all that time they spent uh, not only this year, just in their whole school

career working and honing their crafts and putting in those hours. And uh, it's amazing to see it pay off, you know. So, it really did pay off for them. And uh you know, Miss Sains um had a really really successful experience at preparing students for NISMA this year in Queensberry. So she's going to uh touch on that subject briefly. >> Yes, we had 14 students attend this year um between the seventh grade and or 11th grade. And uh we had some students who went on both vocal and instrumental. Um we had a lot of local students and these students were honored tonight for their scores. known as a statewide event. So students go and they play solo for an adjudicator and then the adjudicator gives their scores and the scores count towards things in the

next school year. So I think based on how well students did this past year um see pay off in that regard but it was a great experience especially for the seventh graders who had never really done it before. experience. It was a performance activity with confidence and you know very >> Awesome. So uh well before I I wrap up this segment I just want to take a quick moment to um thank Miss Clarian so much for everything she's done for us in the year past year and a half. um every challenging situation that has come her way, she's handled with utmost professionalism and grace and has really I mean um done a fantastic job for us at Johnsburg Central. So, thank you so much for being part of our music department and uh yeah, it

very nice to work with you for the past three and a half. >> It was an honor and thank you everyone here. Thank you for welcoming me into your community. was such and I I learned so much such an invaluable experience. So I'm very proud of you know a department like ours where these kids I mean they have to wear so many hats you know it's like and and and so many of us expect so much at once. So for these kids to to to give their energy in so many places, I must give them a whole lot of credit. And our memorial service is always something to look forward to in town. Honestly, the weather was beautiful this year. Held off like and just like halfway through the ceremony when the sun came out.

Um when Norah and Connor performed with Haps, beautiful rendition. Um it was, you know, such a strong performance and and just musically, I mean, the way the kids play, the way they look, something that we should be very, very proud of. And for them to understand um that we're doing it for people who have sacrificed a whole lot. And uh you know, it's unfortunate that the prospect service was cancelled this year, but unfortunately, none of us can control the weather. And uh you know perhaps it might be uh worth looking into an alternate ring location at some point if we can communicate that with enough notice in advance you know because um but there's always to look forward to um based on prior discussion from the last few years um we as a school ended

up ordering alternate uniforms in the event that I mean this time of year it's like October you know you have a bay in June that's uh 60° and with 40 mph winds up there it could be a scorcher and by the time the ceremony is it's always just past high noon you don't really have a lot of coverage so we did order alternate uniforms as uh as per prior discussions here um that still they're polo shirts um with nice thin material um they have a really really nice custom logo and uh you know in the event that uh next year and the future year, they should really last us a good while. Um because of the limited times that we wear them in the year, uh I really feel like they they will hold up

over time and it will be nice to give kids the option if it's a 90° day on top of a mountain in the sun that uh we we won't have to wear our heavier traditional uniforms, but still wear something that displays excellence and pride and not just a a dinky little t-shirt. something that had some thoughtful design behind it uh that we as a school can be proud of. So there's uh so that's new. Um next year in our um every other year's musical rotation, you know, it's uh now that we're we're back on track from the co base, we get to look forward to putting on the musical. And I'm really pleased to say that we have a great team. Um, it's going to be Miss Parker, Miss Patrika, and myself working together. And,

uh, you know, they they say it does take a village to to pull off a musical production, and it's very true. And all three of us at the helm have uh have our own individual strengths and skill sets that uh when working together we can really fill in the blanks for one another and ensure that the kids have a meaningful experience, ensure that their time after school is not wasted. And we have always something to work on. And uh you know, right now we're we're narrowing down the choices for the musical, but we're looking to to get everyone excited come next year um and secure the rights and and go from there. But it's uh yeah, it's excellent having a team. Um you know, no one wants to see Mr. G's choreography. That would be

uh that'd be scary. No one wants to see that. And you know, like for us to all be able to play to our strengths is only going to best serve our students. we're only going to give them the best musical opportunity we can uh by staying in our respective lanes. So, um shout out to Miss Parker as well who is reviving the drama club and bringing that back because that is that is wonderful to have and she is really eager to to get that going again. Um, and that's really important because with a school like ours, um, you know, being on an every other year musical rotation, for those that are really hungry for the theater experience, um, they have to wait a while, you know. So now they're going to have the opportunity to

hone those skills even on the years that aren't the musical years. And that is a big big step in the right direction for giving kids more opportunity to chase what they're really looking for. Um so um rest of the year here we have our elementary flat day performance. We have um some student musicians performing at graduation. And I think that about wraps things up for us. So if you guys have any questions for Miss or myself, >> questions. >> Thank you again. >> Thank you for the presentation. Move on to items for discussion and or action. This is currently the best All in favor? Any opposed? Okay. So, we need to have a discussion on noninstructional substitute. Have you provided some numbers for us? Can you refresh for us what we are current what our current um

you say and can you remind us of what we agreed upon last um meeting for our we had looked at the other area school a good place to be. So there was some discussion um last time about should our substitute our substitute secretaries still install workers should be looking at that as well. So this list is much shorter than the list I got back from the teaching assistants. Um, some schools just don't hire substitutes secretary um positions or sometimes positions um they just don't hire them always. Secretaries are kind of tricky in our school. A lot of times our secretary positions they have so many other jobs that not hiring there would be a lot of things such as um our front desk reader is just a reader. She actually does all of the bus

notes changes. So we would have somebody that same thing in the principal's office. There are so many students that need to have during the day that we can't just not have a secretary. So us not having substitute in some of these areas are just not. So we do need to look at what is there. So currently pay the teaching assistance sub I should say prior to last month. Um so in this discussion we need to look at it. >> Do we have a hard time finding substitutes? >> Okay. Most of the time we move around our teaching assistants to cover some of the secretary because they have familiarity with our students. But we have had in the past secretaries that were willing to come in that would be trained to be a substitute. Um because

there is some computer work there is to talk to some kind of important things that they need to do. We can't just stick anybody on here. So in order for us to some people and not have to train over and overation systems maybe if we are competitor people would want to come back. >> So am I hearing that you're recommending that is necessary and something that would benefit us is to raise our We've had several secretaries and we did spend several days one that was definitely a two billion trading. So we lost time and effort. >> So are we specifically talking about secretaries? Are we going to go through each one and discuss or I feel somebody we also in the fall I had interviewed someone for the cafeteria. It's a lot of time and

energy going into training them to have them not coming back. That was definitely earlier um conversation with the teaching assistants and secretaries. We are actually having trouble finding someone who cafeteria or a cleaner but I don't know necessarily if that's because of that I can't imagine that just for cleaners in cafeteria certain my gut says So what does this so we put substitute rate of pay at 174 when you did the TAS how does that compare to our um our staff so we are in negotiations so their pay is going to go up and remember subs do not get insurance or an insurance like with a CSCA number you get a factor of insurance coverage and you don't want that to at the end of the year so you're compensated. >> So just as a

top I think you know you're negotiation can you tell me what the buyout is current and it's going to change and that how much it is for a um insurance package >> okay so buyout for CSA contract is 2,000 for two person 3,000 for family health insurance currently is HA single individual H right now is 9900 a year um something and then a family So it's significant. Oh, so health insurance package is I guess that's >> I just wanted to confirm that that is my thought. So even if our substitutes are making similar or maybe more >> depends on depends on that the our permanent staff is has a substantial health insurance >> retirement benefits. Um, anybody else thoughts on this? Um, would you be willing to make a motion? >> I think I think

it would be good to have everybody. >> It'll be easy. Yeah, I would make a motion to um set the non instructional substitute rate of day at 174 an hour. >> Please have a motion by Sarah. Anybody second that we starting this until 2026 2027 school year. Is that what you said? >> I I don't care. I just >> Yeah. >> Okay. I didn't write it in yet. >> Okay. Does anybody have any more discussion on that concerns? Thoughts? Um, what is the I'm sorry I tried to find my email. What is the post school? What is their favorite? >> Yeah, I think the highest is at 19. Okay. Anybody having any more discussion on that questions? Okay. All in favor? I oppose. So we have B2 as our cross country assistant volunteer coach 267

by Melissa second by Sarah discussion that's a lot. Okay. So, is there comments comments concerning our agenda items? >> Just wanted to add a few things. Um, Sawyer to do the nationals, which is a huge accomplishment. Not an easy task, but it put you on a stage arena where you're going up against kids all around, you know, seeing where you stand racing against kids from all over. Um yeah, huge. They're all gently inspiring each other, which is really neat to see excited about mention. >> Yeah, accomplishments for tennis. I don't want to set aside but I just wanted to balance that as well. Um but going back to Nordic not to forget things like I mean our our facility right here that's just taking off and hosting which is the New England um New England

race you have kids from all over the country actually but then we also invited kids from the mid-Atlantic and great lakes area great area and that's pretty neat if register super highly competitive where our kids get a chance even kids are produced. Um update reports recently the foots challenge. Friday night shot 96 out of 100 place finish. I also just wanted to recognize three of our baseball softball athletes 100 plus strikeouts 200 plus strikeouts and Hannah Shar 150 plus strikeouts and the state for allowing me to come back for the last six months forward. Thank you for this little extra time that um I wanted to also mention the varsity softball and varsity beautiful teams this spring. They worked really hard and I know it wasn't how they wanted to end but I don't think

it should take away from the efforts. Um I also wanted to say huge thank you to people with just to the town. Um they came in and they helped on our fields tremendously and know spoke about that but without them we would have been in a situation where we weren't always ready. Um it was just such a great effort and then Jake also also helped out when we could. And I just want to recognize them and thank them for their dedication to the of our fields to our students and just making sure that we have the best that we can. Um I'm on Wednesday today. I'm sorry. Uh with that we've had some issues. I know um in the Manurva uh fields which we are working on um communicating about I think the communication um

transportation has improved this year where we're falling apart a little bit. I I believe and I have some meetings to follow up and investigate a little bit but I think where we're falling a little bit short is the communication um parents maybe express their That's something coaches may have, but it's not trickling down to myself or to um Mrs. Hen. So, working on that communication some somewhere, but we're falling apart from there. So, we do have some meetings coming up. We are working on it. We do have a plan. Um some things we have thrown around in our merger meetings are actually hiring someone specifically to do some field work because again without town without Jake our spring sports do so we need to work on that. So those are some of the ways that

we're working on not just here at JCS but remember as well. Um, number three, I wanted to just let everyone know that I sent out a letter to parents um about our construction. The abatement work is going to begin the Monday after graduation. However, there's going to be signs on every single exterior door starting about June 18th that there will be an abatement or bestus removal. We don't want anyone to be alarmed or That is when the is happening. It is by law that we give at least 10 days to the community to let them know what will be happening in our building. So you will see some signs starting somewhere around the 18th and it's about asbestous removal and abatement. So just don't want anyone to be alarmed to think that we're going to

be doing it sooner than we said. That is by law what is required. Um if anyone has any questions, they can certainly contact me. We also have our plan um in the main office to look at that um the abatement is only going to be in the north wing. So the north first floor. So that's room there. And then also on the third floor where um old room was bathroom down all the way to where the student is, which then means that there's going to be some teachers moving. So, the third floor, which is where the big renovation will begin, those teachers all will be relocating. Um, and there's a plan for them to move during regions week. Um, they are already set out. Justin and I have talked um the teachers know the plan,

but they've all been moved to different spots to teach one. Um, number five, the electric bus mandate. I just want to give a quick little update about the electric bus. Um, New York State has voted to move the regulation the mandate to have a bus purchased um, up by five years, which means our whole fleet would not have to be purchased for 10 years. So, that's good news for us. it gives us time to push for push back of the dates. Um, so that takes me a little more time to focus on things here in the building instead of worrying about but yeah, I'm sure that there's still paperwork I have to fill out, but as far as actually having to purchase anything, you can wait. Um, I want to just acknowledge that we had

to um go through a new voting laws, a new voting process, and we used that third party voting company to help facilitate with that. And it went lawless like um I do give all the credit to Cindy. Cindy did all the work, all of the paperwork that went behind it in the training, but it went so well and I think everybody enjoyed the the new technology. Every time that, oh, this is me. That was also great to hear. Um, my last update is Mrs. Harris, our new principal, visited on Thursday. She spent the day mostly with Mrs. Flanigan. Uh, she lived here very excited. She couldn't believe the positive energy she felt when she came here. She was only here for one day. So, I thought that was a really neat thing. She walked away

with. We had some posit we have a lot of positivity and I know it's the end of the year and it feels maybe crush time or Sometimes we get kind of stuck on the negatives, but that's not what she took. So glad that and then on top of that, thank you. I haven't wor it was just so nice to thank you for letting me transition um to committee reports. I know the policy committing that um the policy manual is completed. I think that we will be working on approving it or at least the first reading of it next um July meeting and it can all >> finally post it on the the baby buildings and branches coming up next week where we have temper tech school and they'll go over um the abatement the construction

process in a little more detail since for me. >> So voting for the new um exhibition member um will be finalized complete uh this Wednesday in two candidates right now are Norell and Ryan Pink. So, one of them will be joining me next year. And our field day that the student government um organized was a success and I'm sure a lot of kids had a great time. It was a nice warm day and lots of people had problem going down the slip side to sit up down the hill and u that's all I have right now. >> Uh so unfortunately I was at the state tournament so I didn't get to experience the field day but I've heard A lot of us said it went really well and it's had fun. So that was the

goal. >> And did you organize that for >> for everybody or just 7 through 12? >> 7 and I visited every class that was going to vote this year and made sure that they knew about it. kind of explain what the issue does and um next year I'm hoping to kind of raise awareness of this and maybe hopefully get some more involvement and more suggestions soon to bring to the board. Even though there's only two candidates running for next year's spot, I heard from multiple students in younger classes, you know, coming into eighth and nth grade are already saying like if I wanted to do this, what would I do? How could I do this? So, it's definitely something younger. the words out more. >> Are the two candidates campaigning? Are they going about that?

>> Um, they're not necessarily campaigning. >> Um, I wish that they were, but I feel that in a couple years that may happen to get more. >> I said the same thing. I I think that you see a little more growth here. I don't think eventually but I think that was just so everyone still >> well thank you for serving with us um since your last meeting well thank you very much you're the first first senior that was a good experience hopefully you can give us some feedback on things that we can do differently to encourage you and hopefully we'll improve each position, but thank you for volunteering for this position this year. >> Okay. Um, any other business? >> There were no community topics from last month. Upcoming dates. We have June 9th, uh,

Kathleen with Kathy at 8 a.m. We have our sports awards, um, on the beach at 4:30 p.m. June 15th, we have our senior sunset outing. June 16th is a senior trip to New York City. June 18th is the principal picnic. June 22nd is prek graduation at 9:30. June 25th is the borate service at Sodom Community Church. 7 p.m. June 27th is graduation at 10 a.m. and then we have the board of education reorganizational meeting on July Tuesday. Remember that motion to motion by Sarah second by all in favor? I Thank you everyone. >> All right. Good night.
