all good stuff [Music] under God indivisible with Liberty hi everybody um Welcome to our Board of Education meeting so I'd like to start my administrative report by recognizing that we have uh three magnificent teachers that are going speed board approval tonight for tenure I would just yes so we're going to start with Megan Han wave a little bit okay so so um Megan was kind of one of her own but not kind of one of our own uh she was a permanent sub for us for um starting in 2018 but prior to that she had worked at a charter school in Brooklyn and Megan has done an amazing job in our school districts I just want to read a little bit from her tenure report um something that I had written with regards to Megan

so I highly recommend Ms hunt for tenure to the Seaford Union Free School District Megan is a dedicated professional takes pride in the world that she does Mrs hunt has developed excellent student teacher relationships and she's always available to collaborate with her colleagues in the Ministries actually it's Marion instructional strategies and solid foundation curriculum which makes her teaching engaging and differentiated for her students in addition Mrs Hunt is an integral part of the matter family community where she participates in numerous and District activities we're truly fortunate to have Mrs hunt in our school district so now I will read what I wrote um this is Megan Hunt is an excellent educator her students file the cluster's team seamless the class routines seamlessly I observed a math lesson in which she started with a mini lesson

in transitioned to station work every student in the class was engaged they knew exactly what to do after moreover Mrs hunt creates a positive and supportive learning environment she has a wonderful rapport with her students with pride I recommend Megan Virginia so congratulations except we have Miss Lee to sleep you can please stand today so she's here tonight but Gianna I just wanted um you know to talk a little bit about Angelina so Angelina came to us she was certified in early childhood education childhood education students with and students with disabilities um she came to us from New York City and one of the things because I remember her interview pretty distinctly when she was in the final round was um the ease with what she spoke about curriculum how she spoke about the passion

with which um she was addressing her students and she also had have its mind experience before coming to the Seaford School District which was a unique quality and she's been a leader in the social emotional um I'm going to read a little bit with what Miss emmer had written in her tenure report and then myself so miss uh emmeric wrote is with pride and pleasure that I recommend Miss Angelina Lee for tenure Miss Lee goes above and beyond and all that she does she takes initiative and her enthusiasm is contagious Armando's our man of school students and staff and families are truly fortunate to have obviously serve as a first grade teacher over the last four years she's a true asset to the manner and the secret community I'm proud to recommend Ms Lee for

tenure and then I wrote Miss Angela Miss Angelina Lee is a rare find she embodies instructional excellent watching Angelina teach is a gratifying experience she has a genuine care for her students that transplant motivates their learning her classroom management is success and she is a very she's very she very scopely embeds our social emotional programs in her lessons I am honored to recommend Ms Lee for tenure she's a game changer plan but certainly not least we have Miss Jamie Flannery so you know again I I recall interviewing Jamie and I also recall in addition to having experience with go math and balanced literacy she also had she has degrees with students with disabilities Early Childhood childhood education she also is a literacy specialist where she had gotten her degree from Columbia University which really specializes

in literacy programs so that was that was a ton of qualifications that are on paper look fantastic but when she came into the interview and we saw the experiences she has in the city system and how much she cared about her students that really sealed the deal so Jamie has been with us and I again I'm gonna go back and forth so I'm going to read something from physicalist now and then from myself from her 10 year report so miss cacelis wrote I'd highly recommend Mrs Flaherty for tenure Flannery for tenure in the Seaford Union preschool district this Winery is a dedicated professional who takes pride in all that she does this planet has developed an excellent student relationships and has always available to collaborate with our colleagues and administrators she has a rapport of

instructional instructional strategies that are there are solid foundation for the curriculum like she does in the classroom in addition Miss Winery is an integral part of our matter family as well as the secret community I had written this Winery has continued to show growth excuse me uh Miss Winery came to us with six years of teaching experience in South Bronx she has experience with the go math program balance sort of seen the reading and writing workshop model our expectations were high and she has met and even exceeded our hopes Miss Winery is a strong educator who has become an integral part of the minor team she has a wonderful work or with students and she creates a fun and positive learning environment it is an extra bonus that in addition to being certified in Special

Education Childhood Education she also has a degree in literacy she is the complete package I am proud to recommend Jamie Pretender that was what I wrote so congratulations if everybody knows that can attest to our interview process here it is very thorough it is very complex and getting a job in secret is not always an easy feat but then being as successful as these three Educators have been over the last four years is really a testament to who they are and what their contributions have been and you can see all the colleagues in the audience everybody loves them so we are very very happy yes our fourth president would like to say a few words well I'm speaking so I'm taking my resident three minutes now it will work nobody is allowed to stop me

so my daughter had Miss Lee during covet we were so blessed with such an unbelievable teacher and then during lockdown I felt so disappointed that we missed out a person instruction but we realize that having her virtual was the greatest gift she is unbelievable with technology her TC lessons were unbelievable she would record herself so parents like me could play it over and over and we could learn CC as well she did small group instruction she opened one-on-one support her live lessons were incredible she was just a gift during that time not only academically but like reflector Cora had said socially and emotionally she kept the students connected feeling good about themselves laughing she had the most wonderful ideas for flipgrids it's actually a favorite coveted moment Miss Lee had the students do a talent

show so like many families we took out things into games and projects we never thought we would do so we took out this massive magic set and we all learned magic tricks my daughter did her flipgrid and it was just a favorite movie family we sometimes tried to make each other disappear which didn't always work out so well but it was just it was so wonderful that I just had a personal shout out and Miss Huns we had the pleasure of having Miss hunt my son coming into fifth grade after lockdown so she had a huge job to do she had to close the gap make students feel connected um bring them back into the classroom amidst all those restrictions and that was not easy and I think it was probably one of his favorite

years of the manor and the graduation I know you had a big role is actually probably my favorite graduation to date again I miss all those restrictions you did a fantastic job I didn't see choreographer on the list of things that you do I heard that you were very instrumental in the dance and you were in the back doing the moves with the students so I just had to take a moment and personally thank you both foreign ER can you hear me yeah okay nice good evening everyone so my name is Chris Schneider I am an audit senior manager at RS Abrams I'm differently with my partner on the account Alex who's probably spoken to you and I know she spoke to you as recently as last week about the status of the audit the

financial statements management letter governance letter Etc so I will try to be brief today because I know there's a lot of things on the agenda I was looking at it outside but I will try to speak to the highlights of what happened this year with our audit and the results of that audit so the most important thing is that there was an unmodified opinion which is the highest opinion highest form of opinion that you can receive which is a good thing um I'll speak just generally for those in the audience and for those on the board who may not be familiar School District financial statements to conclude both what we call the district-wide financials which are fully cruel as well as your governmental funds including your general fund which you're most familiar with which are

modified or cool so there are two sets of financial statements there are footnotes there are supplementary schedules in terms of things that were new this year so again we would have spoken about this at length last week but there was governmental Accounting Standards Board also known as Gatsby statement number 87 and leases which resulted in a gross-up of assets and liabilities on your state so if you're looking at your prior financial statements and your current your financial statements there will be differences to the extent that you had these gasket 87 pieces there are disclosures in the mdna also called the management discussion of analysis as well as in your footnotes regarding the adoption of this the effects and the the fact where uh should say that instances where there's not direct comparability year over year

but we did try to show restatements of those prior balances so that it is compatible to the extent possible any questions there before I continue great so then just to speak about some other highlights in regards to your financial statements and your financial position you're all familiar with the four percent restriction on unassigned balance so you cannot exceed four percent of your fy23 budget in your case you are below that four percent which is good thing it will keep you off the naughty list with the state which is what everybody wants you work hardly at 3.2 percent I will also comment you have an overall healthy balance sheet and generally have done a good job of funding reserves using reserves and how you could one balance plan for future use in addition to that I

have spoken about something called the management letter which is where we would summarize any controlled efficiency significant deficiencies material weaknesses so good news there there was nothing to report which was again big thumbs up on top of that I just like to thank the business office again Ali would have done the same the audit been meeting about radiatorade for everybody great job at the business office you're in good hands and we appreciate you using us as your external auditors so with that I'll allow for any questions that might come up so thank you thank you very much at this point I just wanted to um say a little something ah thank you um Chris for your presentation normally Ally is here she's a partner with the front of ours and Abrams but um I want

to thank you for an efficient process what a process and the guidance because Gatsby 87 was not easy like Mr Schneider had said the audit committee met last week and that's where the members of the community as well as our board were able to ask detailed questions about the allotted process in our financials so um that was a good process and none of this would be possible without the diligent efforts of the business office and in particular our Treasurer Christina Spinelli so she was here early every morning and stayed late throughout the summer closing the books and I'm very grateful to her and my staff and I'm so happy to get to work with her and we can talk journal entries and all that account jargon only she and I understand thank you very much

would like to speak please come up to the mic now okay correspondence if you're taking care of all that new business contracts eight a one through three need a motion any discussion all in favor any emotion for agenda items uh these are called the procedures the first reading B one through three discussion on um we're all good with the technique yeah I forget the beginnings of that policy okay well good okay um donations um sorry all in favor bye okay and we are eight c one two any discussion all in favor um eight D1 you need a motion any discussion all in favor paid a motion for agenda item 8d1 through four any discussion in favor okay I'm adding um the resolution here so I need a motion for agenda items f one through five

I'm going to read it so it's recommended that the Board of Education designates Heather on paper as the voting Delegate for the 2022 annual visible convention business meeting can I get a motion any discussion all in favor um misplane discussion items okay so there's going to be some discussion about some um School Board resolutions so we don't want to hold everybody here but I do want to give the opportunity because of Mr Lynch here uh Dr Jacob there is measural here as well as all the board members so if anything anybody wanted to say something in addition to the individuals of getting tenure I wanted to give that opportunity I want to say this is this is the best part of my job is hiring the best and the brightest and then having and again

is with such a pride that we're we're recommending these three exceptional Educators for tenure but I did want to give the opportunity that anybody else that's on the day is here can say something that I think [Music] um um I just wanted to say congratulations to our really tenured teachers um as a Harvard mom and now a middle school Mom I don't always hear about marriage teachers but I've heard about the three of you and only positive wonderful things so congratulations foreign [Applause] plannery I know you're fabulous as well congratulations I'm sorry to find that my children never had you I wish they did but you're all fabulous congratulations so I just like to congratulate everyone I had the pleasure of seeing all three of these teachers over the course of four years and I

remember correctly I feel like Angelina and I got appointed at the same board meeting I remember being at the music Wing when we got appointed the um all three of these Educators spend an enormous amount of time making their classrooms a warm and inviting place where students are accepted they're challenged and there's always I can't I can't think of a classroom that I've been in in these with these three teachers where kids weren't laughing and learning at the same time so it was always a pleasure just to sit in um I I have realized though when you go to observe first grade classes don't sit on the floor with the kids at my age getting up off the floor requires um several students to assist so I do appreciate uh Jamie and Angelina's kids helping

me out so congratulations honestly and I had the opportunity to walk into Miss Lee's and Miss Flannery's classroom and before I came in I you know Dr McCord Mr Lynch Miss Emerick Dr kakolas they said so many wonderful things and it was so nice to see your empathy your passion Your Love come really out to our seat for children so I just wanted to say congratulations continue the hard work and dedication you put forth in our district and we're so excited to welcome a part of our family and our team and looking forward for you to continue to grow as Educators so congratulations to all three I don't really get to go into classrooms but I do get to see each of these three teachers at the Manor and it's Delight delightful so congratulations [Applause]

so um everybody's more than welcome to stay but you're also more than welcome to go celebrate and get on with your nights if you're if you choose to [Music] foreign videos [Music] foreign great night thank you good night okay okay now we are on to our discussion items where I will go through each resolution one by one and if we need to have a discussion if we're all not in agreement we'll do so does that work yes okay all right resolution number one I was in agreement yes okay okay proposition number two yeah number three yeah okay yes yes we are with proposition number four the resolution proposition proposed resolution okay number four yes she had no one left oh no I didn't actually yeah okay I didn't I remember all yesterday yes okay number

five yes yes yes number six yes yes number seven yes yes number eight yes yes nine yes ten yes yes I have notes on here too it's number 11 yes yes you're 12 yes remember 13. Heather was a no I was a yes um no okay so proposition number 13 was that the School Board Association who supports our revision to Transportation statutes to permit a school district to provide aidable transportation outside voter approval limit so long as doing so would not result in additional cost so I understood that that if we needed to make modification we couldn't out of order yeah so I'm envisioning you have a bus you haven't just kicked on the bus someone who's on the perjury yes but then what if the next door neighbor wants to and then their next

door neighbor wants to and now he's been approved until it would cost additional cost of industry or there's no space or there's enough space or it would require the hiring the distance like both 0.75 so I guess if we had to change the limit we wouldn't need voter approval program I just find it to be a slippery slope it gets great like they could be a gray area what were you thinking about doing that well I was thinking the same thing like if we had to make an adjustments kid over here two houses way didn't get the bus in here and then it got to be and then they re-zoned all the customers right but if there was a situation where we needed to when there was a room on a bus I guess with

Ford approval we could do so right I just feel like if it if the caveat is making an exception in our own discretion not that we're obligated to what should we so choose that would not result in additional across the district that to me is is the game changer that it doesn't require that we make the accommodation but it also gives us an out if it if it's a case where it's going to cause like us to have to you know commission another boss that would be obviously announcing right but that that is also going of course Community if you say yes to one person a mill to somebody else but this is saying that it would it would um outside voter approval limits so again if we needed to change the distance of of

you so thoughts I think it sounds good but I think it's very interesting because if it doesn't cost more money for say bus number two and you allow somebody to get on the busy but it does cost more money for bus number four they're saying well it's the same distance you're in a situational analysis where and some they're going to be winners and music yes as opposed to and the board appears that unless the Community decides to change it then we have to listen to the role of the community other than that I think you're going to wind up with winners and losers and it's a tough situation okay and just because you might not say woke up because you know that person that gets me really really yes and I did say that it

can be like well there really is room because they could sit together there it does it gets icy I'm okay which is with it being enough it would be me Heather that's Stacy me I feel as you know and Lisa be the only ass that's fine okay so we're gonna go with it now Okay resolution 14. Heather was a no I'm a no this is a no that was a comprehensive reform to Foundation a formula I've spoken with Rhonda and Adele They got a decent amount of foundation Aid I I don't know if I would be comfortable with them revising the formula and us not getting okay no okay proposition number 15. Heather Heather was a no I am unsure you know um Lisa you were a yes I'm a yes this is for State

this would provide us with state aid what university would they expect that Pre-K be housed in our schools so that's what I was concerned about because there'd be no space and they would just add right right so none of us they're not going to admit that you have to go to preschool but then we're gonna have to you can only Supply it to the extent in which you can have the physical space for it right you know and it said oh there's no problem that's the reality of like I guess I need to build a building no but what actually as a community could be upset that we're not housing a Pre-K or doing an extension or what have you and then I think it also gets into an issue of okay so they're giving

it to us now and then when they take it away also that that's what I figured as well we're still paying for it it's gonna have to come from somewhere I don't think right so the current hours they nearly enough to have a pre a universal prepaid program it's under six thousand dollars per student so we couldn't housing with Benefits not to mention the fact that you're talking about all of the furniture resources all of that so even with the existing program that we're intending to offer next year it is going to cause the district one because what what they're paying is not going to fully cover but it's going to take through from an article upon you know we're funding programs such as ubk and that money is not then going to our K-12

I guess we're at a disadvantage because as you can see by how much space is taken to this proposition there's a resolution there's not much detail here and there's there's not any guidance as to the amount of funds funds appropriated so are we okay with announcement okay so that one is given the limitations and proposition number 16 yes yes proposition 17. yeah yeah Heather was a no I was a yes too so where he asked yes 19. yes yes 20 yes yes 15. yes I'm sorry I was touching on the other paper that's what I'm looking at so 20 was a yes 21 was yes 22 yes okay oh I'm sorry I was knowing that as well I'm sorry I didn't make that Mark on here I was a no this was in stipend yes

I mean I'm not I understood their rationale which is why I had said yes because maybe living here at Europe so cool but I said you do this job because you volunteer okay that's why and you know what I feel like then it gets then you might have people that do it to get paid right and not for the right reasons right so I was I yeah no I'm 22. yes yes 24. yes 25. yes 26. um [Music] Lisa is a no and Natalie is a no no yes okay um discussion um just my opinion this is the um we're doing everything we can because we're talking about schools right now so we're doing everything we can to um to keep guns out of schools and to keep going to keep the schools safe and

voting yes on this I feel as far as for as far as is just negating some of what we're doing so if you guys are all disagree with that well I just think that I don't think that we just made it that's fine yeah I'm just basing on the schools looking at it from a school I think the the thing in my mind at least was first of all this is a national issue which in in another regulation that we'll get to that was the rash that was this was rationale for not wanting to vote for something immediately here that's not their rationale and I will also note that the rationale for this particular proposed resolution um red flag laws we have some of the toughest gun regulations in the country in New York state

um if you want to focus on issues impacting New York State there are certainly bigger issues that we should be focusing on in my opinion I think I think the fact that we you know don't have a tiny little attention you have a you know the Battle of form laws and you're letting out tons of criminals you know 45 minutes away from here in the gates yeah I mean that's an issue that actually impacts New York this is a national issue it doesn't impact no because we already have what they want to implement they just want to influence on their core I know what I understood is thinking we left the healthcare decisions up to the healthcare workers I feel like I should leave the gun laws up to the lawmakers like that it was

it was how I I know where you're going and I agree with you if anybody can make the kids safer but I don't know if I want to touch it I'm not coming back in the state in it it may not really do much because of the gun issue that we have is there else exactly right but but school shootings are not illegal guns they have not been illegal they've been legally purchased all right so but that's also the future is about two when we have other issues not just the gun laws you have social emotional issues people red flags for other things that should have been caught and I just don't think okay all right thanks okay okay so we are up to number 27 um I was yes yes number 28 yes yes

number 29 yes yes 27 yeah resolution sorry 30 yes yes 31 Heather was a no I was unsure wanted to have a conversation I don't know you would know too you said nothing I mean yes but now I'm just well that goes back with the other one too I was on that's why I was a question mark for that one this is the same it's the same kind of thing yeah [Music] yes right we can be consistent in our program yeah and I think that if we're saying no on the other one we have to show a line so mostly okay so 31 is enough um 32 yeah yes okay so Heather was a no I was a no no no no Lisa was enough um number 34. uh Heather was a no I'm a

no no no Lisa was enough okay proposition number 35. uh yes yes yes no no okay discussion so supports proposed uh guidelines legislation in favor of local school districts control or Regional by County control but matters pertaining to safety protocols operations regarding the prevention of spread of communicable illness my issue is only local schools schools or school should not be item four okay sure more local control by County whatever I'm not for this individuals because there we bought a lot of that um the boards that submitted this said I'll just read it aloud this proposition does not suggest Health protocols be determined by Educators rather request local control of Health guidelines formulated by the local County Executives legislatures and local Departments of Health school districts local leaders are in the best position to determine protocols

protocols and make sense for their areas one Department of Health should not make decisions for 62 account so they suggest local control they don't suggest they don't stay in there anything about school control so in here it says school and this is what you're going on and what they mean are two different things so they can mean whatever they want but and they put in their school district right now after what we went through the last couple of years there is no way that we should be in that position but not doctors um I agree we don't have health degrees that should not be on I yeah I was under the I wonder assumption that it was like County control but Express schools now I wonder why they should have put in episodes well it

said indoor Regional by County control on purpose and how well did that work for us well we weren't able to defer to the county which is why um well it says you know so well it says what we've always wanted was local control what we've always wanted was the ability to stay this is what's going on in our town this is going on here doesn't make sense here maybe it makes sense 45 . so when they vote on this is that if we share that with Heather do they have resolution their discussions of different parts and I Marianne do you know remember how this works no okay you really on these like complete discussion this is my thought too if we ever got forbid we're in a situation like we were in two years ago

where you have these mandates coming from the state doesn't matter what resolution has been passed that's not going to give us power that we don't intrinsically have this is just saying that to the extent there's no Health crisis there is no emergency Proclamation made by the state or by some local government we have the ability to dictate whether or not I don't know we all have to be masked again or whether we have to be that's assuming that there's no State coming in or no local County coming in telling us what we have right emergency order this wasn't this is this is not going to overrule anything the state or accountant can do right Marianne yes I mean I'm still enough but Marianne do you have any thoughts on that I'm a legal standpoint it's

really a bored decision you know the problem is again you're reading this a little bit in a vacuum and you know Stacy's reading the words that are printed there which is what we're all doing and it's hard to really know how that will be implemented remember these are proposed um platforms for school boards to go to the legislature so there's a lot between here and there right right like they said in the health department is not going to say sure you can make decisions on this very serious topic no that's true not the final thing right so this is just this is just for that Fitness but to put it forth and be an advocate for the change in legislation for local control yes and how does he asks okay okay so what are we

doing here yes okay number 36 um yes yes I I'm a little confused on this one because I'm not sure exactly what it's saying it's extremely ambiguous I don't know what standard academic subjects are I think besides academics they're talking about um social studies right and I guess you know Health music yeah that is that's those are standard I think that beyond that is you know that that you know classrooms to teach stand curriculum well you have a curriculum you have to adhere to be perfect I think it's expecting teachers yet to teach things that really are in curriculum standard based so I'm going to say topics if they want to that's right I mean that's why it's dangerous if people want to oppose the um you know all these names that are being thrown

out there um of what is assumed is being taught in classrooms then they should put it in words in here um I think this is just way too broad broad um so what are you going to say if somebody says well you're not going to teach or not going to teach certain aspects of music or we're going to change up it's so ambiguous it doesn't refer to content and or criteria for graduation or criteria for anything else it just basically says non-core that there'd be some discretion that is locally mandated you can wind up with a lot of and you can have winners and losers with regards to some of the departments that are very valued you have created this music it's not nothing I don't really think that's why they're going with this but

I don't think that they're thinking of school districts are not going to think that music is not valued I you know what I understand what you're saying but what it opens up yeah so here's the thing also right you do have New York state standards for science District but if that's not what it's what it's so Mandy this is opposing a man Amanda from this from the state education it's not saying I want to choose my own curriculum and teach things that only I deem to be important this is just saying I don't want the New York State education department to mandate that I have to teach this other class that we have never had in our curriculum before that's where it does it says if this book opposes mandates from the state education department

that requires school districts to regarding matters not pertaining to standard academic subjects that's fake but the but to me the operative language here is nisba is opposing mandates from the state education department that's the operative language but regarding one it's very big well I think that's why they're keeping it being on purpose because they don't know they're just saying that we could not choose that they don't want the state I'm sorry the state to impose man's wealth on like all right you know I mean I'm just saying receipt does impose mandates since it's so big it could be anything right like they could have put white social emotional learning critical race Theory those are the things right so I know what you're saying but I assume yeah I if there are down the road budgetary

pets they can you know different districts can do and you don't know what any board is going to look like at any point what happens if you get taxpacked people on the board I'm just saying to protect this no I know this is not you know this is not the work of not a work of art just so everybody's aware of that the resolutions that you're on have not been recommended by his resolution so when you're in the section which is they're not really being recommended by the resolution of the community of nisbah but they're on here any thoughts on that am I married I think it says what it says I think it is as I said earlier and Lisa indicated I mean there's a lot between what's written here and legislation being being

adopted and because it is somewhat vain I would like to know what standard academics exercise you know I'm just saying because they're not they're not being proposed I mean do you even have to not vote on it it makes me very nervous it's like uncomfortable and I think you know as a teacher coming from an educator we are often mandated to do a lot and to teach a lot and told to do a lot so I feel like you know sometimes as an educator we feel that but what if your district is telling you that you have to to do certain things and things that you think are right and you should be and then the next town over they don't have to do any of that but you feel that it's really important that

every child should be getting that and you feel that it's right you know it's not yeah it's kind of like that now there's things that are done in different districts you know districts that are not done in others you know I just feel like there's a lot of mandates passed on by the state you know that full on the teacher's shoulders and you know sometimes we feel like we're not just Educators anymore that we're doing a lot of other things because the state is telling us to do all of these things and they're not everyone in the classroom yeah and the other thing is these are just proposals if there is n't going to be the language this is my point more of the sentence yes then the line sure it's about the sentiment correct

I'm for the sentiment I don't I'm not for the language I don't know can we go back if you can can we go back that's true [Music] okay that was 36 months or 37. I hope this is nope there's not gonna be much now okay oh my God Heather was a yes Lisa uh adopted parental rights legislation such as okay to the adoption of parent parental rights legislation legislation will protect parents fundamental rights to direct the upbringing of their children which includes not limited to matters of Education Medical Care moral religious and character training already exists in terms of uh parent family right family engagement in addition yeah I kind of felt the same thing in addition parents have the right to be informed about their child's educational programs which they are at your require

school districts They Do by providing access to current Structural Materials and legally protected parents rights to withdraw a child from portions of the curriculum which that concerns those last few words they can withdraw their child home or part of your apartment um you know which is science and um well I you know I don't know basically withdrawing their kids from math I mean we know what the spirit has trouble with algebra I'm pulling them I don't want him to fail academic subject they think they're talking about you know inappropriate School correctly they're not coming again and I understand it but if parents can do whatever they want if it's there they can say I don't want yeah yeah the others are more specific of medical care more religious character training but the word education any

matter of Education parent from withdrawal right this is not going to happen that's enough there's going to be no legislation that's going to allow you to withdraw your kids from you know math and social studies and those sales I mean I'll have to they'll just fail I mean these aren't well and also parents would draw their children from places they don't want now we're writing and I would but they didn't for whatever reason right so she like she said you can't we throw it from a required Force now but there were parents as they didn't want their children to be privy to the um sexual abuse training so those things are allowed to withdraw your child and I feel like again I'm agreeing between the lines but that's where I think they're going with this

things that you don't feel are inappropriate for a third grader to things that you're exposed to it your Purdue more of a parent topic yeah 100 but again I'm taking that from this because I think I know what they're going with just based on yeah I mean I think that this is going to speak like not always as we know but at least 50 of the time know how to write legislations you know now he's ever dressed Natalie your conflict oh yeah I was good up until that point I might be working on that is scientifically based right so it does I mean that's one obvious area right and we know religion is science I know when I get the questions yeah um you know just it being that big with the word education again

this is what caused me withdraw from proportions of curriculums which education are you talking about and when it says their moral religious religious and character training it says matters of Education you've got to protect a parent's fundamental rights to direct matters of Education should not be directing matters at all unless you homeschool your Channel you know that's the decision that you make you don't want sometimes voice taught in public schools and that one too just saying um all right I'm okay with them I know because to be honest I wasn't comfortable with my kids learning anything it's cool exactly that would be a fight that I would have and I it wouldn't be learning so I feel like it's that one as well so 37 is now Lisa yes no regardless of my vote so

I'm in the minority so it's enough all right 38. yes no uh oh Heather was a yes I'm sorry Heather was he asked so this one I had a good question on the religious or moral objections to immunizations you know what I'm sorry I don't think anybody's rights okay so it's yes okay 30 days a yes yes yes yes okay okay 40. um yeah yeah okay Stacy was a no discussion any legislation um or commission or regulation that would require any school district reported to adopt comprehensive sexuality education for K-12 you know why because it's K-12 which of these whatever my arguments are the same as for 35 but that's fine okay we're a yes on 40. one there's a no papa no no yeah okay so 41 is a no yep okay 42. Heather's

no Amino I'm a no okay they would petition the New York State education department and the commissioner modify allocate changes any Act of below rule regulation to allow Local School District's autonomy develop suitable tests in place of Regents exams those students who would otherwise be close to suffer unnecessary stress trauma anguish from having to take the regions allowing the school districts to confer with local high schools conferring local high school diploma to any such child meaning um all other economy through graduation there's something like that in person um they're having well there are other certificates for graduation but there's not a cop so they didn't so so and and that's what I said with local diploma disappearing so did some of the criteria there are um there are exceptions when you score between certain ranges

available for Activation also change with regards to more leniency this one um on the surface I think it's extended that we aspire to we're really looking at our Advanced reading diploma rights that we want so it's not something that's directly you know that we really presented the exception to the rule but there are other certificates that we don't have ingredients 42 42 is enough 43. yes Heather was a yes okay you want me to read it I was the only known no okay so 43 is a yes from the State Education Department there is a rebound for this too website the New York State education department is responsible for setting student learning expectations for what standards for what all students should know and be able to do as a result of skills each local school

district develops criteria I'm sorry curricula based on these established standards our proposition only confirms what is already established by the separation of Duties the State education department develops standards and the local school district's developed curriculum in addition My Success standards in education in education while local districts determine issues are not understanding what determinations what I just just the word of conflicts if I'm the only one I just don't understand them for academics yeah so the whole thing is just that is very very wide now it's too out there for me foreign exactly um then you can interpret later and then take them anyway but again this is not going to be the language that you end up with because so I mean we could go with it now 36. are we done any closer comments

by the board s any closing times by demonstration thank you guys you know I I did want to say what Rhonda was saying about Christina and the work that Rhonda and Christina have done um it is no small feat to get the type of audits that we're getting in the district and it's because our business department is intact and everything is well managed so a good a big kudos to Rhonda Christina and her team yes because we really do appreciate the work that's behind the scenes it allows us to do all the fun stuff that we're able to do thank you yeah so thank you it was a team effort that yeah thank you and discussion no fun favor hi thanks everybody [Music] good night everybody [Music]
