to me okay foreign everybody [Music] any questions okay uh good evening everyone thank you for uh being here tonight I just wanted to uh thank our iCare students and staff members for an outstanding event following High last week helped celebrate our students and encourage them to uh uh you know trick-or-treat in a safe manner so kudos to the Eye Care students for that event and a great turnout so thank you also to our ptas for the Trump and Treat events uh they were well received and very well done a lot of creativity that you see and so thank you for allowing our students to celebrate and have a good time during this past weekend uh calendar reminders today we had a staff a conference day for uh parent conferences at the Pre-K six level we

have a full day on November 12th November 12th is both parent conferences at the Pre-K the sixth level as well as the 712 staff development so just as a reminder for our calendar updates um new this year something that we want to populate and publicize and it's called chain it's Colony High School alumni integration Network it is a reach out to our alumni in not only the colony area but throughout the United States in an effort to connect them to our current students so those County alumni that may be watching today or connected to an alumni please reach out to Mr Doran at Colony Central High School with our freshman Dean and make him aware of your information he can send you a Google form and we're collecting that we're creating a map throughout the

United States that will give our students identification as to where our alumni are living and what they're they're doing so we really appreciate that I think it's a great start uh so if you've got alumni out there uh please encourage that to complete that it'll help our current students connect a little bit better the last thing is uh we anticipate diagnostic testing on a pilot phase uh over the next few weeks this means that students or staff who are symptomatic showing signs and symptoms of coca-19 in the building would have an opportunity uh to be tested using our quadrant saliva based test this comes with the parent permission so we would ask the parents consider filling out the clarify app which we've pushed out and continue to message out in advance so that if the

need arises we can perform that uh simple cheek slab in the health office and allow for the results to be turned around to families within 24 to 48 hours it's at absolutely no cost to the district or to the family so we feel this is a a good step to assist our families again it's in kind of a pilot phase we begin um for the next uh week to week and a half um sampling that in some of our buildings so it will not be uh full mainstream in every building but we will start it off uh get some feedback and evaluate how it's going and the Hope by the end of November that we will be able to offer all of our buildings but it'll be diagnostic testing at no cost for our families

we know that it's very difficult when children are sick to not only pick them up and then have to find a doctor's appointment for a test this will hopefully alleviate that concern moving forward so that's all I have any questions question okay yeah okay so this week uh this evening shout out to assistance and monitors and we have another difficult year for everyone and the mini adjustments that have been made and we are still learning new things and new ways to approach education every day some of our students have not been into school at all and some have small kids for the typical school year before everything shut down and then went into a very type of difference so thank you for your patience dedication and offering new Solutions and ideas to make this be

a positive and successful year for all so big shout out to our teachers teaching assistants and monitors next um fall concerts it was great to have fall concerts back in the school I personally could not go because I have engagements but thanks to YouTube I got to see the second one and it was wonderful congratulations to all of our students and staff I made both nights spectacular and then I have a Halloween I do because I did get to go to how long high it was exciting to see everyone having fun many awesome awesome costumes and happy faces thanks to iCare for sponsoring it and for all the clubs for being a part of it maybe it's a special time how they're needed um stealing Mr scales that was Thunder a little bit I know

he's gonna talk about that I just wanted to say that I appreciated going to the assembly where uh I care introduce themselves and get some of the students interested in it tell them about Eye Care and and their uh project this year on suicide prevention so I appreciate that I know Mr Skelton could have built further with it but I just wanted to mention that and then also I it just occurred to me I was reading my mail and I have a couple of people here I'd like to say this too Mr scales Mr Patrick drainer here now so uh I thought I'd mention I'm a big proponent of the life skill of having kids learn how to drive properly and I know you do have it in summer school but I saw it in

my my mail there's something about a driving simulator so it's something if you just if you want to sometimes look into that see if it's anything feasible possible that uh we could do it's uh it's something that I would I would like to see us do more do more to teach kids how to drive because it's it's the number one thing on a teenager's mind oftentimes I would like you to investigate see if it's anything feasible at all I appreciate it thank you I'd just like to uh to make acknowledgment of a nice little uh Colony uh Community event close out cook part that happened last night um I'd like to thank Dr Perry who came and uh through six solid Innings a lot of pitches to both sides of the kids uh varsity baseball

coach Mike Morrissey attended and it was a strikeout to cancer awareness fundraiser we raised a thousand dollars uh for the cause last night um for pretty much they're all South County kids that goes that are at bookmark just a really nice event we got Roger Weiland actually uh who is our lead president did live sports from Donna Cook Park almost got hit with a baseball uh he did live shot at 4 45 which I was on and obviously the ratings went way down uh Dr Perry was on a little later the ratings went up but uh just a thank you kids had a great time um and it was a very nice Community event thank you um kind of take it back and you mentioned the concerts having my son perform in on the Monday

night concert it was fantastic to have the orchestra chamber singers Mr heart health band what was fantastic um I know there was some doubling up of events um it would be great if we could get the camera in the auditorium to help with the live streaming as we're limiting um guests um but I know you know 22 months away my son was ever excited to stand up there with with this base um also uh Friday two great events um good win for our football team um that I got to watch and also took in the yes um and then I got to watch the girls uh volleyball day one in a thrilling uh finish and now they move on to the sectional semifinals um tomorrow I think they said uh lastly uh November 10th is

the great PTA signup day if you are not a member I strongly encourage it ptas are a lifeblood in our our schools to bring our communities together um from you know the high school down to the elementary school they've been pivotal and getting a lot of information out of the families the last two years yep thank you anyone else like old business really um wait wait think anyone saying it wrong you can go first okay so hi everybody my name is Lily way and I'm here because um I am a Chinese immigrant um I I hear um abroad from China a few years ago with my parents and I just been observing what's been happening with the United States in recent years and I just would like to share some thoughts and observances with everyone

this is just going to take about four or five minutes from China like all immigrants we fled communist China to the USA for its freedom and prosperity like most immigrants we were able to live the American dream within one generation the communism brought Chinese people unprecedented poverty misery and suffering for decades it began in 1966 with a cultural revolution citizens were made to hate and persecute one another Maui used political class to purge his political amenities landowners versus Farmers intellectuals versus blue collars students versus teachers children versus parents they topple down statues from churches temples books and cultural relics persecuted anyone who didn't change Mouse ideology my own Mother's High School principal was being to death in 1966 by her own students at an all-girls school in many cases students would turn on their own

parents and Report their disloyalties to Mao to authorities which led to persecution and imprisonment countless people committed suicide all the destruction in misery were justified by social justice for the common good sounds crazy in a civilized society I never understood how the entire population could be silent to watching their country go down in place how Mao could have used such an iron grip to remain in power and intelling his death I never understood until now because this is what I'm witnessing in America the beginning of a cultural revolution human nature is the same everywhere the most effective tactic for control is to instill fear divide and conquer black versus white man versus woman mask versus no mask vaccine versus no vaccine cancel culture division indoctrination censorship all rampant in the USA and leading down an

irreversible path of self-destruction like the Chinese Cultural Revolution Americans are outrageous because their mind so they comply in fear of retaliation it is a collective fear that allows the Nazis and dictators like Pol Pot Mao Kim Jong-un to thrive schools have mandated that all staff be vaccinated will students be next why do those with antibodies need to be vaccinated children are the least affected by covet yet they are made to be masked all day every day breathing in unhealthy levels of carbon dioxide and not be able to socialize as children should vaccine mandate violates the most fundamental human rights even China isn't mandating it just last year 83 federal government employees went to work for Pfizer as full-time lobbyists and they tell us this is about health and safety and not about controlling money with

mass population in of the US vaccinated why are these restrictions getting even tighter in no time in history has government ever voluntarily given back freedoms you can vote your way into communism but you cannot wait locally layout I worry because I see indoctrinated students without include the evils of communism and claims to be oppressed under such privileged life they cheer on the censorship implemented by big Tech not knowing that it needs Sensor One vacancies are all they raise their fifth in support of social justice thinking they're the resistance not knowing they're simply changing the same rhetoric as most major institutions in fact they bear uncannily uncanny similarities with Mao's red guards the formula to communist success is to amplify the voice of a view of a few while suppressing the voice of the rest preaching

Heaven while delivering help there has been an unrelenting Force to undermine traditional Christian values for decades now lgbtq movement open borders gender equality breaking down the family structure critical race theory gender pronouns Etc causing confusion Division and Chaos among youth leading to Elite and easily controlled Society notice these are all being pushed in the name of compassion and diversity yet our communities are not are not beneficiaries Only The Establishment is just one more minute well we limited the five minutes and you've been pretty consistent on that so I would ask you maybe if you have like one more Point like that but I'm here because I cherish the opportunities in America that nowhere else can offer I cherish the generosity and kindness of Americans most of all I cherish the freedom to think and express

myself or write not to be taken for granted in any time in human history is what propelled America to unprecedented levels of innovation advancement and standard of living I hope and pray that students get a quality education at schools build character and courage learn values and principles of hard work and evaluate it based on Maryland parents are counting on staff and board to shape their children and their future in the right direction and be of moral compass in a time of sleeping changes and uncertainty thank you Tyler hello it's a hard act to follow and I'm not very prepared I'm not as prepared as I would have liked to have been so there'll be a few breaks here while I try to decide which of these things I might try to fit into my five

minutes Mr Kelly can you keep your mask thank you everyone hear me okay I'd like to introduce myself to the board although you may already know who I am my name is Joseph Kelly I have two children and one step child at the high school I'm here re-engage from Life concern against the indoctrination of our children as you shall be aware my son was targeted at the end of last year and he continues to do to Beast excuse me and continues to be by the way presumably for offering a well-informed opinion that differed from imbalanced the radical views of his teacher this was detailed in an email to the teacher all the top administrators including superintendent and this board I've yet to receive a response from the board or the superintendent on this matter I've

also yet to receive an answer to the question I asked the teacher the only response I got was from Tom cachadorian which was extremely arrogant condescending dismissive of me and my son while I was honorating the future of Lenny advice or wrongdoing at some point when time allows for it I will break down his own words to point out all the falsehoods and Ambitions advice which made me realize that I need to go yet further above his head to this board the issues that Millie spoke about are the issues that concerned me also and is happening throughout all of our schools I'm aware of it Tom and others have denied that CRT is being taught in our schools I have evidence of it I hear about it all the time and not just from one

teacher or one class I had those feet prepared to bring to this board last year after the email from Tom I ended up not being allowed to do so because even though I was sent in my request to speak to the board it's approximately a week before that meeting I was informed on the afternoon of that meeting that I would not be allowed to do so because it's all virtual the speech would have been about 15 minutes long and therefore wouldn't have been allowed anyway I do have copies of the entire Email exchange and supporting documents then I will submit to the board from the disc website the district's goal is symbol to offer unlimited learning opportunities to maintain High student expectations for success and to provide taxpayers with an educational system that they can

be proud of and afford I am certainly not proud of what our children are being taught CRT teaching children to focus on Grace on purpose because that's not the very definition of racism so I believe you're failing on your goals all three of them like I said I'm not prepared but I will be coming back to more meetings and I intend to I'm going to drop a there for now but I intend to come back to more meetings to address issues that I'm concerned about those being racism racism being taught under the guise of critical race Theory acceptance and glorification of gender dysphoria pornography at our school libraries unequal treatment of conservative students by some suspension an example of that proven protocols and they're useless ridiculousness extreme bias propaganda and misinformation thank you for your

time I had some concerns at the last meeting with regarding CIT I announced the board about that after probably that responded saying no that don't teach CIT but I noticed some of the buzzwords that go along with CRT like diversity and inclusion forward here in your information um so I doubt sometime and it bothers me a lot that you people are in charge of good um welfare of our kids and yet we let this garbage be taught our schools these kids racism he taught in our schools it's it's just unacceptable so I don't know if it's because you believe in this stuff or because to get the paycheck and you just let it go es um I'd like to know more about what's an important in the classroom I don't ever hear any of that

discussed here um I'd like to know what books are being handed out to the students or do they get tablets do they get tablets with facial recognition that only student can log into your parents can't see what's in there I'd like some answers please I want to know why we can't ask the board questions get answers is it because you're afraid of what we might find out I'd like to know more you know teaching psychology and emotional and empathy how about we get back to Reading Writing arithmetic and leave emotional stuff to parents agree with everything that we said a joke I think we're going down a long day after I wish that you people would stand up for the kids and what's being taught the classroom right now I don't think that's happened thank

you uh hello South Colony School Board administrators to follow what Lily would say I just kind of say what it seems that um you know there's a famous saying that those who don't study history games to repeat it and uh you know see you know hearing what you just had to say boy I I see so so many similarities um what's going on here today um so I've come to you tonight for the fifth time since you've opened up your doors and publicly always um I hope everybody had a good holiday uh the event at the high school uh for the kids it was a pretty cool thing um it's always been a cool thing in years past but I was disappointed however to know that on the same day you hosted a vaccination clinic

where you contributed to people getting experimental RNA compounds thrust into their deep tissue for no good reason uh so my main reason for speaking here today is to talk about some things related to the program restrictions and protocols being adhered to in this District I start out by saying that first and foremost that as a parent in the school district that I demand that all covered restrictions and protocols be lifted here immediately in this District I say this uh now for the fifth time standing before you are sitting before um and I say this Having learned something this week right something that I've talked about all along but I just couldn't put my finger on that by adhering to these ridiculous restrictions and protocols you're receiving or have received our average about two thousand forty

one dollars per kid in covid relief funds this total is to be about nine million dollars plus at the South Carolina schools has either received or will receive by having these kids massed up which has been shown time and time again that mass could never protect an individual from a real deadly Airborne viral contagion uh had there actually been one of these past 24 months uh you get no lockers all right to promote social distancing when it's evident that social distancing is non-existent when it comes to changing classes over there at the high school and in the middle school and I've described recently to some of the administration how not having lockers actually can contribute to the Germans being spread throughout your school and kind of negate this whole mask thing um you know because

coach is going to be being brought into the high school and everything else you know with the winter season and those will be little vectors walking all around your highlight your hallways if you really want to subscribe to it uh and all the other Ridiculousness is uh associated with these policies that have been adopted here in this District it's all for money apparently so you know you guys are asking these questions you want to know why it's for money you're not talking about salaries no no no you're getting a lot of money and I want to know where to go okay um this is the money I spoke of a couple meetings ago the meeting when I mentioned that you were all writing a fine line when it comes to child exploitation marks you see

there is no pandemic and there was never a pain damage all right now I'd like to know where this money is and what it's being used for because our kids are being used for it okay just like I'd like to know where the money is that wasn't used in the spring of 2020. okay that added up to what must have been hundreds of thousands of dollars for everything from the sports budget the transportation budget various salaries field trips you know and what happens so I'd like to be contacted by email as well about this and uh the email is listed with my name there and um I'd like to be giving detailed account on where this money is and why the taxpayers weren't given a discount this time around when it came to asking the

people of colony for even more money in the budget that thankfully I guess they hold a yes on yet once again they never vote no um but lastly I'm going to remark on a couple things that might be talked about uh and have been talked about by some of the other people here CRT critical race Theory or what however you want to categorize it you can't fight racism with racism okay uh the fact that there's a black student union now at the high school is kind of an example of this because I find it hard to believe that if there was a white Student Union that it wouldn't be called racist okay there's apparently some book in the library that's got some inappropriate stuff check with Mr Kelly here um he was reading a little

bit to me a couple Pages uh if that's in our library get it out go bye-bye because honestly I've already dealt with this in the Middle School level I had to contact Mr Brown when my daughter was in fifth grade about a book she brought home and it's kind of sexualized in its nature and shouldn't have been available to a fifth grade but I mean I've already gone through this at the middle school level he showed me a book that's in the high school get rid of all that stuff come on I mean I'm not trying to burn books I'm not trying to burn books right but there's you know time and place and everything and some some things that should be available to kids they're not okay um [Music] all right folks so thank

you all for having us here um we obviously have a team that's going to be presenting we also have Mr face that's outside I'm not catching Oregon this is my team of Administrators I wanted to try and give everyone an update on what's going on in the high school in regards to our approaches for basically three different categories we're looking at our social emotional approaches academic and behavioral and we wanted to take this into our conscious awareness as we try to build up ourselves back from a hybrid experience into everyone coming back every single day so we have the social emotional look and the the big pitch that we tried to put out before our teachers and to make sure that students were appropriately aware of is we were going to look at care before

curriculum we want to make sure students understood that the fairest of them being well welcome back the appropriate nature of how we're going to try and get them assimilated back to an experience in a classroom that they've been unaccustomed to for over the course of a year and a half um so as we put that out there is kind of the initial component of what we're going to do before we really dive into curriculum so students feel welcomed so students feel a sense of belonging and that's the biggest component of what we want to do because when you see what you feel connected or when you feel a sense of belonging then your educational components are going to come a long way and it takes a while to get back to that process that's what

we're learning but it's definitely something that we're looking at specifically into ingraining into our student um student experiences mental health suicide prevention more is going to be mentioned on that as we make our way to the presentation tonight at Universal screening as far as mental health awareness that again is going to be another component that how we look at our social emotional staging and how we're able to provide for our students the best possible way academically we've looked at honestly the learning gaps that are going to need to be addressed and the best way that we can approach that is taking a model that worked for us that was credit bearing toward the end of last year which is called our Aspire program and working that into something that is not necessarily credit bearing but

one that is targeting at making up gaps Mr hartel is going to help us out with understanding a little bit more about it and then really about growth how do we connect kids to what their learning is going to be we want to make sure that the pathways that we set before them and that's a term that we're going to use an awful lot tonight really leads into what their college career preparedness and Readiness is going to be and if we can Target that so that students start to identify themselves not necessarily by the club or the activity that they're in but by the actual academic progression of what they're part of if they start saying to us if we have these casual conversations but what excites you about school or what is it that

you want to do when you grow up grow older and go into adulthood you start qualifying it as I'm a health science interest person and I want to go into nursing those are things that I don't think we have enough conversations about specifically with students that we're trying to connect back to their experiences so as we look at this entire thing the academic the social and in the behavioral itself we just want to provide for kids as many outlets and opportunities to re-ingredient themselves into social structures and the dynamic that we're hoping for our students to return to normal as best we can understanding there's going to be hiccups for them along the way what do we do well we do a very nice job comparatively throughout our entire Suburban Council of what we offer

within our UHS or university in the High School courses these are the updated numbers I know I've had slides for this for academic achievement prior in years past what do we do for this year we have 60 unique sections creating roughly 1 207 participants in our UHS courses and we have a nice balance between our stem opportunities and our humanities we are doing great with our Partnerships with hbcc RIT Saint Rose sccc Sudan Adirondack even even more Adirondack and even more importantly our Suny Albany courses we've forged a great relationship with them and we're going to continue to hammer that forward we also do things very well with our AP pre-ap and our honors courses we're able to offer for ourselves this year 32 sections creating 646 participants and we do again have a nice

balance between our humanities instead what else do we do well we provide excellent services for our special needs students and for any student that might require special services outside of a mainstream student we have a varied variety of offerings for special education students we do have roughly 15 percent of our students that do have an IEP a little bit below 5 five percent for our students with a 504 and if you look at a number that is going to be jumping out at you is our else our English language Learners have grown last year from 39 now to 61. that's a lot of cultural change and that's a lot of difference but it also speaks I think volumes to the type of programming that we afford for our students to enjoy they come here and

they have a positive experience to learn the language it's immersion as well as direct instruction and they continue to find growth and finding out how they're going to assimilate into our communities we also need to look at things that might be something like our L's number that might seem as a problem and if we take the example of our pays lab and we look at our special education population problems can be turned into great opportunities for students our students right now that are participating participating in our pays lab which is offered at the high school are also having a secondary opportunity according to them through the colony Community Connection and that's with the guidance of Mr Fowler and the Guides of Mr Borman and a great vision from that teaching staff we are now allowing

for students to have real life Hands-On skills and opportunities afforded to them let's continue with that vein for all of our students so continue to evolve to meet the growing benefits there's going to be a name that comes up a few times tonight it's Kristin Mesick who is our counselor is now designated into our College and Career Planning Center she's exceptional she's had a vision I've talked to her about it for years now I'm so happy and fortunate to be able to put her in the room where she belongs and is able to find all the skills and assets within herself to network for our students our students need to have opportunities afforded to them in and around our community and connect to college and connect to Career preparedness what we look at is the

district Vision fillers which are our academics character wellness and community and if you also look at all of the different categories categories that are in here that person is listed for us it really showcases that we are trying to afford opportunities for every kid every winner whether you have special education needs or if you're a skilled trade student or if you're a mainstream student that is just looking to go to a two-year school or if you're a four-year school is just looking to go on to a four-year college and have a better experience for yourself whatever it might be the growth and gains of what they want to do is is afforded through the ccpc so if we look at all of these different opportunities what I want to look at is the very top

right hand corner the ceip component which Chris is now accredited through Adirondack Community College this is going to afford our students and my vision of growth in the next three years and at least 75 percent of our senior population having some kind of experience a career exploration internship experience which I think again is great for us to know and sometimes know not what we want to do when we move on past High School now we're going to segue into Mr hartel who has taken over our Aspire program and he is actually doing his administrative hours with me and doing a great job thank you I'm going to stand I don't know if this is a perfect or not I'm going to take the floor so firstly thank you so much if you know anything about

Tom you know that he loves acronyms so the Aspire program up here after school prevention intervention remediation experience is from Tom um this team is led by Krista and Colleen and as Tom was saying before it's filling the academic gaps that our students have had over the course of our pandemic um and we are targeting the six classes that end with Regents exams particularly for just the Region's diploma living environment Ela 10 Global 10 Algebra 1 and US History you'll see Algebra 2 is up there as well that is to help some of our students getting these Advanced regions diploma so we're offering both of those and that was based on future recommendation again this is not a homework club the Aspire program is to work on test taking skills so that our students can

successfully pass the Regents and graduate and then lastly this whole Aspire team made up of all these wonderful teachers and myself and Tom is assessing the individual learning needs of each student and goal setting with them we're opening up their Chromebook we're checking Aspen we're seeing what their grade is we're telling them what they need to do and how we're going to reach that goal together and these programs run for five weeks at a time and after that five weeks um they can be re-enrolled into the program or if they reach the goals that we've set for each student individually they can graduate from the program of aspire we can go to the next slide please thank you so a closer look the classes are broken down into two classes per session and there's about

eight students per class so who is invited to this these are students that are already not receiving individual work as a 504 or IEP so these are students that are already receiving help and these students are getting the help in a small class setting so say for example I needed to go to the Aspire program and I needed help with just my living environment class I'm only going one time a week to work with these teachers so that would be my Monday class from 2 15 345 so the students can only be in a maximum of two classes so they would only be ongoing let's say for example Monday for a living environment and then Tuesday for ELA um Algebra 2 as we said was added based on need those are for students that are

working towards their Advanced readings diploma and we're helping those students meet that as well as Mr kachegorian said this is non-credit bearing so they're not recovering any credit but we're just helping them and making sure that they can successfully pass that class and we are constantly communicating with families through parent Square which is the bomb.com love parent Square um and yes the family seem very supportive and the students do as well so that is our Aspire program thank you thank you thank you so when we talk about the emerging needs of diversity and we talk about some of the things that we're trying to do to assimilate our students back into our population we also have to think about the range of where our students are coming from we had a great presentation just today

in our GLC professional learning community that was centered on our English language Learners and in particular the two teachers that populate that Stacy Swanson and Gina nessevara I just wanted to put this on as part of this slideshow presentation because I thought it was a good Awakening as far as all of the students the 61 that we had mentioned before these are the various locations from which they come and then they land all in the center comp the common thing for all of them is going to be that they're connected through holidays and I just think it's an interesting fact for us to be aware of all of these different cultures that are coming and trying to assimilate with us there's a lot we have to take in and there's a lot as a teacher

that you have to try and adjust so the presentation itself today really helps teachers become more aware of strategies technology things that were already accessible all readily available out there and they get to hear some personal testimony from some of our students that are an eagle Snyder's Learners and some of the needs that they speak specific to when learning in their classrooms our diversity equity and inclusion work we look at this from a great stance of how we are going to help and provide everyone to feel that level of inclusion thank you I'm back up again so we have our first um I would say the Dei work has been kind of like a spiraling curriculum if you will like bringing things back for students we're making sure that these topics are coming back up

for staff and our faculty like every all of our workers as well so we started off with the Equitable grading Workshop that was led by Connie y tobich one of our science teachers and we found out as teachers is what is Equitable grading is it accuracy bias resistance and intrinsic motivation so we're working to grade the students on what they are doing in the class and not factors that may be inhibiting them or um like causing them any issues at home and then working to make the students want to do the work by making it relevant to them and the class um that was really wonderful Connie did a great job we also had on the 8th for superintendent's conference day our Dei work this was fantastic it was a district-wide introduction to our Dei

work and it was the same across the entire district for faculty staff all of our workers and it was truly amazing to see something that is frankly a very uncomfortable conversation for a lot of people seeing these faculty staff like step out of their comfort zones um and talk about things and just make sure that we're all on the same page which is helping every student be successful in their time here that we have in that Colony we also spoke a little bit about the Eye Care Mental Health student assembly which was fighting the stigma of mental health and discussing Suicide Prevention again this was wonderful because it allowed the um the guest speakers in eye care to let students know hey it's okay to talk about mental health and it's okay to ask for

help and it also was a great time because it allowed um iCare did a wonderful video where they introduced our social workers and our school psychologists lastly as Mr Patrick Dorian just said this was not the first this was today we had our ell PLC which was fantastic especially for me as a teacher going through the Aspire program we have a lot of families that are do not speak English as their first language so getting just for example the information again on how to call families and use our translated service line I forgot exactly what it was called the language like language live thank you language line solutions that was wonderful it was a great opportunity for teachers to be reminded like hey this service is available to you and um again like just all

these things it was wonderful and again to see and hear these stories from students as well and then lastly We are continuing our monthly celebration announcements which is celebrating the cultures of minority and impressed groups this month is Native American heritage month and um we are celebrating that a message should be being sent out soon from Mr Fowler as well as the Dei committee we've worked on those every month and we'll continue to keep doing that throughout the school year so that is the Dei work that is going on in the high school all right I'm up next uh as we previously mentioned we are dealing we are going to be dealing with and addressing the social emotional needs of the students as they return to school full time uh we will be using a

universal screening tool it's going to be piloted November 15th in all the English classes and it's just going to focus on just the ninth grade as a cohort all of the data that we receive from that online platform that um the children of the students and teachers and families fill out we will be will be looked at by the building mental health Team all of that will be looked at and then things will be followed up with as as needed um they're broken down by risk categories so we have a normal risk and elevated risk and an extreme elevated risk uh we will ask the team gets the data they will then message out to the students and the families to check in and make sure that they have all of that all of the

things that they need to help service their families and their son and their children clubs and activities that we offer at school we have as a broken down executive clubs extracurricular clubs music uh exclusive clubs and then we'll get into the bottom as as we go along the executive clubs uh freshman sophomore Junior and senior Executives uh we have extracurricular clubs so we have 20 different ones that we offer to these students these are uh programs that we offer to students that are not athletic um I think we were talking today if we have a 1558 or 60 students uh roughly a thousand students participate in one of these clubs that we that we offer um also along with the extracurricular clubs and the 20 different offerings that we that we offer we have the

youth Advisory Board uh this takes a group of 17 or 18 students we go over to the crossings once a month and we we sit down and we meet and not not just with us uh but we also meet with CBA and Shaker students as well so it is a an actual Advisory Board where we talk about different things and we have different events throughout the year that we all volunteer at um and it's a great event uh we have music exclusive clubs and then we are actually moving towards the Seal of uh Civic Readiness this is a New York state um Venture it is similar to the Seal of by literacy I believe and uh we are looking to do this this is basically what will happen is it's a way for us to

make sure that we have students that are that are volunteering and then with the passport for good is a platform where all of the people that oversee the clubs can then log the students to make sure they have their volunteer hours it's just a way it's to streamline things so we can apply for this seal of Civic Readiness so when students graduate this will be I guess a feather in their cabinet an opportunity for them to Showcase their volunteers okay uh and like I said passport for good is a way where we can log those hours and all the advisors have been um tutor are been tutored on that I guess Community uh character initiatives and community outreach obviously Eye Care is a huge proponent of that uh and as mentioned in previous years we've

partnered with Northern Rivers this year we are partnering with the American Foundation For Suicide Prevention Sandra goldmere is the the lady that came over and did our assembly at school she is the the local leader for this Foundation um we have Halloween High which was a great event and it was great to see some of the people at that uh we're going to do a new event this year which is holiday lights at the high uh it's new and it kind of piggybacks off of the lights in the park in Albany except for this particular event it's going to be just on campus we've invited the 12 volunteer fire departments in the local area The Colony Police Colony EMS uh the National Guard um all the airport fire department Albany sheriffs the New York State

Police and what will happen is if you've ever been in the lights of the park in Albany you drive through and you see the different lights and and the displays the lights in the displays on campus will be all emergency vehicles so the the plan is all of the the people uh I guess design or decorate their trucks uh they'll turn on the lights and that will be the light show that the people view as they go through the admission into it is just a toy it's an unwrapped toy so we're actually going to partner with Toys for Tots um to generate some toys so we can give to the needy for Holiday health what day is that uh December 11th from 6th 8th it's a Saturday and we'll have student groups and you'll have

student groups performing and we'll have student groups performing so not only do we want to just have if he likes but we also wanted to tap into the music department at school we're going to have the chamber singers uh sing some holiday carols and then we're going to ask other departments in the school if they want to create um a different kind of of light show or whatever that they can gladly do that and we'll insert them into the uh into the list uh we have chili cook-off again uh it's going to be similar to what it was last year kind of a tailgate theme um but we're gonna actually open up the gym I think and we're going to allow people to come in and actually eat the chili on campus and then obviously

the other staple that we have is in late May or in the middle of May I should say we're going to have Raider Fest and it's going to be planned as nor as a normal rate address um as in years past uh so we're looking to have a similar event in years past not like last year where it was dialed down a little bit stem Expo along with it say again steam or stem I guess we're working on the planning Forum we're meeting tomorrow night so that should be involved okay thank you good evening everyone um I am actually excited to be here presenting this and talking about this uh as Dr Perry said um we have a new um uh organization that we are developing at the high school The Colony High alumni integration

Network and this started back in August I sat down with uh Mr cachadorian and he had said that he wanted to find a way to strengthen our community ties with our graduates and our our current student body so we just didn't quite know what that was yet so I sat down with Mr hartel and Mrs music and we kind of devised this plan and it is it is um I guess it's a living online document it is changing it is evolving and what we are doing and our ultimate goal here is that we are trying to connect reconnect our graduates with our current student body and we want to use this as a tool in our College and Career Planning Center especially for Mrs misick uh almost I guess what you would say like an

online catalog type of thing of professional careers and what we'd like to do is for our students is create some professional observations internships if possible bring people in as guest speakers to talk about their professions and definitely build a lot of um positive Community relationships now how we did this is thank you so we we came up with a letter and that we are sending out and especially in the last 24 hours where we have begun to make this more public than than uh then in in the previous few months what we did is we created a a letter to go out and we have an embedded Google form in there and I sent it out to uh we first sent it out to a small sample of teachers within the high school that have

all graduated from colony just to get feedback so we started with a really small sample size and now we have started to spread it out to the public I also included Mr larabee to get a little bit of feedback so in case anybody had any questions we have somebody on the board that has a little bit of experience with it and it takes about two minutes to fill out this form and what we are doing is we are collecting what our graduates are doing professionally now what they did post secondary or post high school they're uh if they went into the workforce if they went into college if they wanted to training and we are putting that into a database so and then what we are doing with that database is now we have created

we've got we've gotten our uh tech department to help us out in creating this um map of the United States now it may not be updated we have gotten a huge influx in the last 24 hours of people that are interested in doing this so I set I use the power of social media I put out a big post on both Twitter and both Facebook and actually sitting there my phone is still going off in my pocket of people that are interested in this so I've gotten a lot of positive feedback a great response how many followers yeah yeah it's okay so when it so if Mr catch going were to click on one of these pins right here up there it says the job title what the the field that they went into their

business organization now and where they currently live so um before about five o'clock yesterday we had a total of about 18 people and that was our small sample size those are the teachers that were in the building that Mr caccidori Mr robolai myself Mrs misick and um since the last time I checked was at about two o'clock this afternoon and we were up into the mid 50s of people that are filling it out and excited to help out so what we see happening is that when we have a junior or a senior or whoever that goes into the uh the College and Career Planning Center that sits down with Mrs misick and is trying to plan out their future let's say that we have a student that is looking into the Technology field that they

can use this as a resource they can see what our graduates have done after high school where they are currently working where they are currently living and again we're hopefully this opens up some opportunities for internships for some observation hours whatever it may be that helps guide our students once they walk out the door Colony High School and out of the responses that we have gotten we have gotten um we have gotten some people that graduated back in 1971 which I believe is Mr larabee and then I'll up until our most recently we have we have a couple of graduates that are going to 2016. so we have that wide range of um you know that huge age gap of you know different different professions and things like that so this is growing it's evolving

we're really excited for it it fits into uh Mr khachadorian's vision for our students um once they once they leave the high school and um I guess there have any questions about that before I sit down no but are you guys going to share this live presentation yes ma'am thank you it's awesome thank you yeah no like I said we've got a lot of great feedback a lot of great people have said it's a great idea they were talking about it with their friends they wanted to do something like this where you know we know a lot of people they leave the high school they need to go to a college in a different state and they don't come back here they lose that connection to the high school and um you know hopefully this

brings it brings them back and again brings them back at the same time gives our current student body just uh just some ideas as to what they may want to do once they leave High School yeah this is great we've been talking about this for years so this is great timing especially with all the technology this this started with a conversation I had actually with Tom Casey in my office not to well five years ago thereabouts and just how to get it to where it is now we did a beta test with the map with recycled sir and she's the one responsible for the interactive nature of it now it's only going to grow this is very much in the ground stages of things uh we have a lot of information to get through so

I'm going to try and I don't want to speed through it but I just want to make sure that I get it to you and then of course we're going to share the rest of the presentation so you all can look at it at your leisure um so what's going on in the College and Career Planning Center at this point so what has Kristin music been doing since she has this new opportunity to try and turn this room into something that connects with all students and she's doing a great job in two months you can look there's been 41 college visits 17 are already scheduled that means we're having sit-down conversations with Kristen a college rep and a student or several students that are interested in that particular college or university they're asking questions they're

interacting they're having real life conversation about what it means to be a student at University College X what's even better than that is once the students depart from the conversation Kristen has the opportunity to talk with these college reps about what is needed what is new what is emerging what is relevant what do we need to make sure that we prepare our students for when they want to go on to a two or a four-year school and how are we doing with that and what are we deficient in and being able to be reflective and talk about the things that we're failing and I think is important is talking about the things that we're doing well so the new emergence of these we'll say professions more or less or at least career Majors right now

is construction management they're looking for people that can be leaders and have connective qualities about them that they can talk in both in a volume of conversations connect from a vision all the way to a an idea of completion and that's not an easy skill trade to have but a lot of these soft skills are getting lost according to the colleges just because of covid and because of the disconnected nature of things we value those sausages we want kids to have those opportunities in those conversations and honestly the first couple months of students sitting down what's College reps it's a little bit awkward it's a little difficult they have to watch Kristin and integrate and interact and engage based on things that they're learning right in the moment so this is a skill that we're

deficient in that we need to continue to return to where our deficiencies are and build back stronger data science is a great example of like data analytics so if you go on Google and you want to search a pair of pants that you're looking to get for an event that's coming up and then you go on Facebook and you see 37 ads for a similar pair of pants that's data analytics that's what's going on as far as a very big new emerging profession even specifically in Siena they did a great job of of doing a presentation of Why students are heading into this realm because anybody who's selling or marketing anything wants to be able to Target Their audience thoughtfully that's why we're allowing for our students to see kind of the the unfolding nature

of where we might say technology or computer science is something we enjoy sure but what more about it what can we really invest our students in so they can have a targeted Vision in Health Sciences honestly with covet going on and everything else we are in a dire need to try and replace nurses there's a lot of people that have left the field there's a lot more that are looking to get into the field it is an emerging program and a lot of will say New York state but also outside in the greater capital or outside in the Northeast there's a lot of houses that are building in this is the programming for Health Sciences if you get through all of the information that you see in there it's it's again very clear and apparent

that no matter what Krista does she's including everybody that's a Learner in our building and she's affording a variety of opportunities for students if you're an English language learner and you need to learn even more so aside from the language but how it's a plan for yourself to move on into a career or to move on to a tour for your school you have been given the skills that you have the form to ask questions and you have a place to go back to so that you can for yourself make a plan and then eventually execute that plan as you move on into adulthood so if we're just looking at two months of work Christian has impacted over 550 students I think that's pretty outstanding because that's a third of our population and it's only

going to grow because she has the initiative to make itself talking about the ccpc and what we have with the accreditation of the ceip component we're going to Pilot this spring and she's going to have a select group of students that are going to go out and connect with our community Forge their networks get Hands-On experiences and also pick up the the credits through Adirondack Community College there's a variety of information in here that we can click on and you can have a better understanding of such as all the hard work that she put into the website and all the intangibles that are in here that will take you a long time to go through or we can go into the map we've already seen but one thing in particular that Brian is going to

hand out um it's just our interest in the career Pathways I have a standing meeting with Kristen every Thursday and I have a standing meeting with Kimberly Leva every Friday and we talk about the evolution of where we want to take learning and where students are going to be connected to their immersion in whatever it is that their career pathway might be so if we start talking in specifics about the interests which is the first couple of years and we get into things that are even more targeted you look at what the particulars are that could be already existing classes that we offer if we just organize them and structure them the correct way students will learn for themselves what a pathway looks like too often are we compartmentalized in a high school so that

we don't understand an Ela what's going on in math what's going on in science and that's just the construction of high school you're built into 40-minute blocks and that's what your time is spent on as soon as you leave Mr Wayne's class and you go over to Mrs wytovich's class there's a disconnect let's Forge that connection so students Steve you see the overlap and the compliments that are inherent with all these different classes you can see it that this is by no means a solid document this is a living breathing conversation that we have every Thursday and Friday that we're going to go through them yeah absolutely absolutely and there's another one I don't even want to click on the other one because we'll get lost in even more but I will move on to

Stephanie who has a whole lot to say and I probably just took the steam right out of herself but I'm sorry good evening everyone um so as Tom was talking about our vision for creating career Pathways at the high school is really becoming a reality I've been working very closely with Christian music to devise a plan on how we can bring this to life here at the high school as you see on the board these are our career interests and Pathways that we've come up with um and our goal really is just to assist each student to determine their career pathway based on their interests and the demands out there in the world um provide a variety of course offerings and Pathways that will prepare prepare our students for their career goals after graduation um

next slide thanks um so how are we doing this Kristen and I have been meeting with each department coordinator um sitting down having candid conversations about emerging careers that are up and coming as well as what they feel maybe we could offer as courses at the high school that might enhance our programs and fit each career pathway um The Journey really begins we want it to begin with our eighth graders Rising into ninth grade So the plan is this spring Krista and I will go down to the Middle School give them some education on what careers are available Pathways things like that um this is really an exploratory time for our students we don't want them to make a concrete decision as a rising uh ninth grader um we want them to be able to

explore different electives see what their interests are they are going to take a interest survey in eighth grade as they move into ninth grade so that they can see maybe what their special skills are what they are interested in that they may have been unaware of um and then they'll sit down with their counselor and they'll get a little guidance from them on what they want to schedule for the for the upcoming school year um then as students move into their junior year at the high school we want them to kind of refine this uh the interest and get a little more concrete with it and make a more just make sort of a decision on where they want to go after graduation and this is going to be for all Learners um whether they

decide to go to the two-year School four-year school if they want to go into the trades there's going to be opportunities for all of our students um and our hope really is to provide applied learning experiences for students as well as connect with chain and provide internship opportunities within those Pathways and bring guest speakers into our building and we had given the survey last year and these are some of the results if you look at the red circles those are some of our highest interests as you can see at the top business is a really a big interest among our students and that was a trend between both our middle school students and our high school students so we're really trying to grow the business program at the high school and create opportunities in that

in that pathway but as you can see the ones with the red circles are some of the highest interests among our students not much of a departure when you look at high school just a little bit more interest I believe in our skilled trades cosmetology and other divisions that might be more connected to our vote Tech programming education teacher primary slash secondary as well that's all okay I will add that our conversations with our department coordinators were very enlightening they were giving us feedback on careers that we were unaware of um that are up and coming so it was very beneficial to sit down with each department in order to enhance our programs and know about careers that are up and coming great job sir thanks um so kind of in summation we have a

few slides just to bring it back we're going to continue to try and you know connect with some of the things that make sense as far as our Kobe safety procedures um streamline Things based on efficiency QR codes for example we had a clunky measure of contact tracing when it came to being in the cafeterias now I think we have more of a streamline more of a student interactive more student accountable forward uh process we're going to keep looking at things keeping paper as much as we can out of the way with something like e-hop pass system I had a recent conversation with a student today who wanted to write his own program for this so I might take them up on this we also are looking at examining our discipline process through Aspen being

able to enable a particular tab in Aspen and having the conversation back back and forth with teachers we're in a beta version of that now piloting it with some of our teachers we're also revisiting our drop-off procedure for efficiency so I'm meeting with Colony Police Department on Friday again to come back to that conversation and we continue to do very good work in regards to our reunification site and plans we had a nice meeting with Sienna who potentially could be a host site in the event that we have to evacuate our school and ever had to reunify our student population with their parents what does that look like and where does it happen so what does it look like we've done a very nice job over the past four years of creating a script for

it where does it happen we've been working hard on trying to find Partnerships so more to come on that it was just the first conversation with Sienna but we invited Shaker and CBA to be part of that and it was hosted by Colony Police Department and again a great conversation and awareness of how we can use resources locally future future consideration had to do with academics I want to continue to build our business program right now we have a very successful business teacher he is our program and he seems to really connect well with with kids he's also doing a great job um being an intern with me as well aside from James and looking at data from a very critical lens and he's been very helpful uh for me to try and add another

layer of all of his experience outside of colony I want to continue to offer UHS credits the way that we are but build it I want to take a look at in particular family and Computer Sciences and bring that back into our conversation even more so the next bullet down we need to find accessible electives for our special education students that could come in around my family and consumer Sciences we need to continue to grow our enl supports as we saw we're at 61. we could grow it even more in January that's going to be the next bubble of enrollment we need to also look at our our Tech offerings what do we have in Tech that's working what do we have that might need a little bit of phasing out what do we need

to grow and build into based on the conversations that are happening with our colleges our College reps that are talking with Kristen I am continuing to monitor Suburban Council contemporaries to see what they are offer with UHS and AP courses I'm not going to bring that document up because it goes on and on and on but you can look at it when I share it out with you I want to Foster more relationships as we already have good existing ones with Suny Albany Indiana I had a great conversation with Saint Rose who is looking to then partner up again with Christian music and have an intern in every semester who would get great valuable resource resources and information built in for them and Kristen could also have another body that's there helping her plan with

the College and Career Planning Center we are going to look at a targeted growth for us to be a SUNY specific pipeline what I mean but what I mean by that is the majority of students that go on to four-year schools well over 50 percent of them end up going to a SUNY school why not try as best we can to give those students as much opportunity and comfort so that there's not so much of a burden financially when they move on if they can go in and be a second semester freshman or if they can go in starting off as a sophomore which is very capable with their offerings that is a great asset that we're building for our student population and we're going to look again even more so in targeting intern development

and mentoring and growing our own teachers counselors I.T maintenance the list can go on and on but that's all at the hands of chain and following through with this whole greater Vision our targeted long-term Improvement we want everyone to be connected we want academic ownership we had 99 graduation rate uh we had an individual then go on and graduate after her experiences in August so we had 100 graduation rate last year but what is our typical what is our historical it's around 94 percent what is happening with that six percent I had a great conversation with Dr Perry about this a great conversation with Mr Vegas about this how do we lose those students and how can we get them back I want 100 and I know that's a lot of people we need to

try and get closer to that what are the considerations that we might need maybe a truancy or safety official that's built into our community that knows our families that knows how to network knows how to connect with kids maybe maybe we can create it so that's a place where every student feels a connection of belonging it can say that they're with pride they are part of our entrepreneurship program and they're studying business and they can't wait to graduate and move on to their next career pathway and maybe even more so we're going to look at how our Alumni network is going to help Foster all of that growth and be sound mind and body for all of our students to be able to lean on a lot that I tried to compact them to a

little bit of time and I'm sorry Mr Bacchus I did go over is I think what we'll do is we'll get some representatives to talk about the ccpc and your Pathways because your pathway document is a really good representation of what are the opportunities in high school I think you have the academic achievement kind of go through that with a couple of people you can't even see if we understand that would be a good opportunity we'll highlight the two of them I can't remember if it's I think it's the 30th in November sounds about right yeah but I'll be in touch with you okay thank you she wasn't here tonight she had requested to speak regarding Death Valley please okay yep Lisa just figure where uh comments are limited to five minutes and things like

that we had already gone through that time period because you did submit it earlier uh we'll allow you to do it at this particular time and then uh Mr Jackson let you know as you get close to the 32nd Mark okay okay I don't even think I'm thinking yeah thank you everyone's always pretty good about doing that so we just want to thank you my name is Lisa Lisa Compares this is my son first time Grace he's a eighth grader at Sanford Middle School um and I laid out everything if you have not had a chance to read it it was attached to my email so hopefully that will get circulated um two things one at the high school I was requesting that we could put up a backboard on the tennis courts so kids

can you know play tennis practice a little bit without having to have a partner I'm a lot older I'm getting tired I'm running around um and I know in some of the um some of the schools that have that set up I did look at the pricing on them to buy them they were a couple thousand dollars but if someone's creative maybe we could do it with plywood paint it nicely and attach it to defense or something and I would be willing to make a donation if that was that's necessary not um second thing was on Tech Valley High I was really surprised to learn that our district doesn't send kids to Tech Valley and for the last a number of years we've talked about it Bryce and I have talked about it a lot

and something he's really interested in and then when I raised it and asked that school you know I got the response that we don't we don't send kids there so I did my own research into it um we actually attended summer camp this summer because uh in my mind that's a big commitment you know it's Tech Valley high school if you haven't been there they offer to interact with the school district with teachers administrations with the school board if you want to get a tour or you want to speak with the principal they're very accessible and it goes through BOCES so the cost is the same as some of the other programs that you heard about so if if you were to take cosmetology basically it would cost twelve thousand and change for the district

to send him just like the other Tech and career Pathways I guess you call them through BOCES and those are half day you know half day programming so my understanding is the kids are at the high school half day and then half day at the BOCES campus Tech Valley the same price but the kids are there full time so it's actually half price if you think of it in terms of the programming hours that you're getting for the same amount of money I laid a lot of this out in my letter to the board so I hope you take a look at it and I'm not really sure what the process is on getting any feedback whether the board decides to take it up and you know as a an item that they would talk

about later on So Lisa just to let you know the process we will consider any requests economically towards our overall budget process so it is something that grew up in conversations just for accuracy there are separate costs to the technology program uh versus the CTE program so the costs are more but uh I can fill you in some more information more details at a later time but we I'll certainly follow up with you with some more details and I did get the information about the uh the tennis back court we'll try to see what we can do about uh that recommendation thank you for the offer all right thanks I appreciate it um the 2122 District operational plan absolutely um just a brief overview you know as I look at the presentation this evening from

The High School academic update it's obvious that the high school is buying into our our four pillars and our operational plan the academics of the wellness character Community uh it's just all over that entire document and we see that down into the middle school we see that down in the elementary school the operational plan is just that it is a plan that is then operationalized at each level and to see it operationalize is really uh impressive and appreciative so you know we will continue to look at our academic achievement at all levels this past summer we met with our administrative team our administrative team uh helped to develop achievement statements at all levels directed towards those four pillars uh board of education has been part of that operational strategic planning and developing our new mission

and vision and we will continue to monitor uh our targets for achievement you know the basic premise is focus on access of opportunities for all students and as you look at the presentation this evening and we'll share more information out the access of opportunities is tremendous at the high school and continuing to grow we're looking forward to that so I have shared the operational Plan full board it will be posted as well on the district website for more information you can access it there any questions on this year's operational plans thank you yeah four Canadian courts in action thank you um I'm not going to go through all these items here but any of the board members have any questions they can certainly get asked them to myself um or Dr Perry it's a number

three the energy manager position talks about the nicerative grant what's the status uh yes a great question Mr Phil so right now uh um we are working through the application for the nicer program doesn't leave it open thank you the nicer to Grant is a Grant that's offered uh to uh school districts to encourage them to participate in an energy management position we can receive up to I believe it's 75 of the salary that we pay out for two years back so if we have a position that is a hundred thousand dollars and the uh are looking at seventy five thousand dollars paid by Narcissa nyserda and 25 000 would be the cost of the district so that's kind of how that would work it's a guarantee for over two years and the idea is

to your health districts to make better use of your energy and processes and as you look at everything from lighting to computers to fuel costs we only anticipate things going off so anything you need to defer those costs is uh money well spent it is a position we had uh almost a decade ago and we had some significant uh savings and opportunities there and due to some tough budgetary times we had phased it out but it is something with this grant I think is worthwhile uh reconsidering so the facilities committee was making a recommendation to apply for the grant and then we would bring it back to the full board if we were to receive the grant for consideration of of that position so at this point in time it's just waiting on an idea

of a timetable on the grants due by the end of December we would hope that we would hear something back within um you know six to eight weeks so we would anticipate um something you know probably during budget midwinter budgetary season with uh you know plans of implementing that as soon as it's available any other questions good thank you all right this evening but did anybody have any questions about the policy information I did uh with regards to the election process um it didn't make it out of committee I was just curious if there was any discussion about halting the community we did have a lot of questions at election time and post-election as far as how the process was set up so I think Stephanie said it well Stephanie was in that in the

meeting and I can't remember how she heard of it but um but she was actually you know I was reading with her and and this was that this was the outcome um do you remember how how you know she learned today I don't have to tell my head that I like to answer your question I don't think it is something that um you know we would put up to some kind of Vote or things like that um you know I think the board has to make a decision on policy it's their primary responsibility and the committee recommendation was to um be consistent with what we've been doing there are a variety of factors that came into it but ultimately it's up to the fold Awards the process so people are aware is it has to

go to a boat and the next available vote would be traditionally our May budget vote um and then it would take effect a year later so if they were to adjust it it goes not for this current uh election it would go for a future election but they felt that the processes have been in place for uh decades and has served the district well over that course in that time right it has been in place for decades but there's been minimal instances where we've had cases like we did this past year with you know three people on one ticket and one person on the other Colleen I think uh Stephanie's point was that somebody brought up the point that the way for a one or eight a block of people who have a particular issue

that they're running on to thus get two seats on on that board on the way I think that was the adjustment could happen fair enough I just can't I wasn't there so she really I know I have two questions she said a lot better than we could yeah she does it was the one one agenda platform one year item yeah you know those kind of things it's shown in other communities that that doesn't become problematic so that was one of the um ideas the other idea was regarding equity and the examples that were used were some districts that are downstate where um candidates have not been able to get on the board because certain groups have been able to um you know essentially overpower that so and have an individual seat you can apply for

that individual seat as opposed to the top Focus right any other questions and let's move on to um reports recommendations for Action yeah oh yeah Mike I actually have an extra one right here all right uh Pages four to six uh she's giving me this music right now yes that's fine when it said 23 I thought I had lessons and thank you for the donations trombone and then two and three I believe in the same ones we talked about last week which is done okay that's great okay though um are there any questions uh the motion that you've done is to give you somehow all right opposed zero next personal instruction I have emotionally um any questions about this no questions okay and a motion made by Mr Peterson's recommendous um Personnel support I have

an ocean any questions on this Chris I noticed there's a voice polling coach but not a girl polling coach she was having to sign the contract yeah any other questions but we had a lot of discussion on Thursday s and second any questions thank you [Music] Okay resolution Capital Area Health Insurance Consortium trust degree that may have a motion it's hilarity um this basically allows us to participate and cash it uh Consortium for health insurance uh Jaclyn McAllister is obviously a any questions and emotionally Bank Mr Liberty secondary I suppose [Music] again and Mr Casey any questions this is a previously approved contract the Moa and the actual approved contract had some minor discrepancies in the salary schedules they were grounding figures for the most part so it may have indicated that 91 and it

was rounded up to the nearest it should have been 92 dollars so we'll be sent out the Moa in the CBA so they had some error so that's been corrected through the business office now uh you know payroll has made the adjustments but this is we want to make sure that the final agreement matched what we're doing with the painting people it's not in every single salary schedule but there were some errors in that so okay um we have another resolution and then any questions on this yes Dr Perry will this mean that this particular issue is uh done um subject to the district's compliance with the requirements which involves FMLA training one of our staff that is in process of entering materials Mr roboti is working on that with uh copper region BOCES and

we anticipate Noble issues on our end or go see that in terms of fulfilling that requirement so yes any other questions Brian Casey yes who's gigliello yes Colleen Gizzy yes Michael Keane yes David Keel yes Chris Laramie yes whoever bees yes vote carries seven zero 12 years um I could not find a theme this year um each day during the week has a different designation so Monday's kickoff day Tuesday is parent day Wednesday is education support professional day Thursday is educated for the day and Friday is substitute Educators day the history behind it in 1921 was started mainly because World War One draftees about 25 percent of them are illiterate so the Nea and the American Legion got together to raise the support public education and the other one that's on there is educational support

probably uh Monday sorry but the Monday was limited to two people yes and nothing was live streamed oh so I wasn't invited well Mr Keel is a board meeting you always are invited to those um but yes Mr King is correct uh we limited it uh due to cover protocols to to guests for uh participants okay excellent and that's where I thought I know this the second concert they did live stream we took the camera from the district office my brother I just picked my mom up I'm like I hate to break it to you but you can't go but I just if I'm up I didn't know about a live stream either so I'm missing some some communication I'm missing some place yeah I will leave those on the website we'll do a better

job in terms of I think uh some of that may have went directly just to the high school parents but we could take a look at that uh it's got to go out through District messaging if it's something that is uh interested in that so we'll make sure I only found out about the live stream because I was saying how I couldn't go and something Mr Patrick Durham and he said oh it's like they came up pretty quick because of the limitations on we'll do a better job messaging that out um we are making progress towards um our winter sports team to be able to live stream all those events uh with a little bit better at Cassidy um you know we do not only our bowling and basketball and and uh and wrestling and

things like that but we'll be able to do ice hockey from the Paris thenu so and I know you said more about it because the board members but personally if it's one of these students yeah okay we do need a motion to go into executive sessions thank you um [Music] it's a little complicated
