00110:46 that celebration um run to public comments at this time. So public comments will be heard on agenda items only at this time. The board of education encourages public participation in school related matters at board meetings. Any group or organization wishing to address the board must first identify a single spokesperson. The presentation should be brief as possible. Speak speakers will be permitted to speak for up to three minutes. The board will not allow public session discussions involving individual district personnel or students. All speakers that conduct themselves civily, obscene language, religious statements, threats of violence in statements advocating racial, religious, or other forms of prejudice will not be tolerated. Persons making presentations at the board meeting will address remarks to the president. They may direct questions or comments to board members or other district officials upon

002approval of the president. See the room cleared out. We have no public comments. Um and that will bring us on to the superintendent report and she is wearing three hats tonight. So you got superintendent, business and curriculum. So Dr. >> Yes. Is a little lengthy for change. Um I will start with um again congratulating the tenure teachers spider Miss White. Um I would like to start with the enrollment report. Thank you. And so as you can see, we're um at 11 1153 um students enrolled. um that does represent a um poor student loss since November 1st. Unfortunately, um we did have four students entered by with eight students exiting to um public school, private school, out of state, out of country. Um that brings us to a net loss of four uh students uh giving

003us 1153. I think we are stabilizing at this time. Just a few quick updates. um have combined on and the assistant superintendent uh together. So um just on the literacy pilot at um SCES uh the I Ready Magnetic Magnetico Magnetic Insightful um we have a fall um kindergarten pilot and we received some really great feedback from our kindergarten teachers and so now we're doing a full expanded pilot to grades one, two, three, and four. So we will have and five and six. So our entire um K6 contingency will be on the new science based uh science and reading based literacy program come January. Um I was so happy the teachers jumped at the chance to uh to do the pilot. Um so it was nice to um have do that. Um we have our districtcl

004days coming up on the December 17th at um SCES and um December 18th at SIS and SHS. And we really look forward to opportunities for our students to um share their thinking and to circle up and to hear from great speakers and to um be fully um um to to be able to fully share their voice um amongst the um teaching staff. It's really a great opportunity for our students to talk to one another, collaborate, and talk about their feelings and their vulnerabilities without any inhibitors. It's a great great days at all the schools. Our shared decision-making meeting went quite well uh last week. Um we had a great group of parents come out to hear about our updates in the dual language program. Was very thankful for uh principal Benson and his update on

005the set plan. um and also uh for being in attendance with Mr. uh Robinson and um um a lot of other staff Dr. Mitchell with our parents. It was a really great meeting. Um our gal work continues with um with a focus on focus groups in district. There has already been focus groups with members of the Shinak Nation and so now we will have our teacher focused groups happening in January and then those uh professional learning pieces will um will will be will take place. Um we also launched a district-wide wood study as professional development with all teachers last um last month and so we're really um excited about our opportunity to read other than joy by building Muhammad and to give teachers tools and resources for culturally responsive education and to hone their skills

006as practition as practitioners. The book speaks to providing as well as culturally responsible instructional practices in classrooms. We had a great November roll out. Um I was able to attend the Chika mini pow at the high school which was wellreceived and um also to um I was able to greet cheer Gory there and members of the council of trustees. Um, it was also a beautiful second grade Thanksgiving feast at the elementary school and sorry. Uh, thank you. >> We should hear you. >> I appreciate you. There was a beautiful annual second grade Thanksgiving piece um a decadesl long tradition at the elementary school and um again Shinak uh skilled teacher woman Lorie provided words as well as other elders of the nation. The beautiful children were adorable singing their beautiful songs and reciting poems about

007giving thanks. Um then there was a great turkey trot at the high school for the little for the elementary students. Great times being with principal Denowski out there with so many kids and um the kids were dancing and um the drumming the chin drumming was going well and it was just a great time to be out and for the kids to be engaged in something healthy uh uh fitness um program as we celebrated uh the Thanksgiving season. Um and it was truly fun in in the Nino season season. It was truly fun and exciting for the kids. Um just love that. And also there was a great production of the Wizard of Oz. It was so magical at the intermediate school. Um had a lot of parents there. Um the kids did amazing. They sang

008so beautifully. Um I love that. It was uh amazing. So um just That's that just went out. >> It keeps going out. Okay. So, anyway, that I'm kind of finished. So, that's that's my cue. Um, it was a great a great November and I look forward to everything coming up. >> Thanks. >> Awesome. Thank you, Dr. Moral. Um, we are going to move on here to the committees. So we had audit in finance that um met on 122. Um Chip, you with me? Is there anything you want to know? >> Uh yeah, I think the biggest thing out of the meeting was uh that Dean wants to change our u financial advisor the accountant. um due to just uh some uh uh some problems he's had last year. Uh he has found the one that

009he wants. So that change uh is happening and um it sounded like he's he's got it under control. That was probably his biggest thing. >> Okay. Yeah. And we also um we just got some bonds expiring for the next few years. So, in the next few months, we're going to have somebody come in and talk about the bonds from 2007 and 2011 that will be um expiring. So, we you know, I know um been on that. So, we you know, we've got stuff. So, we're going to look into that stuff and that that was also kind of the facilities as well. Um so, um personnel committee met on um 122. Um, Laura, anything personal? >> Tag it, right? >> Personality talked about our tenure candidates and we talked about everything listed on the website on

010this board of education. Thank you. Um then we had the uh merger committee that met on 11:03 both um Tahoe um members and our district met with Josh Meyer from Meyer merger studies and consulting and it uh I believe it was Mr. down there and um Mr. window who had gotten a referral. And we had quite a lengthy conversation and uh we talked about what our objectives were in in um evaluating potential merger options and what that would look like and um he sent us a proposal. So I think that we need to discuss that and part of it was for kind of a preliminary study. Um and if we decide to move forward and go towards the full study. >> Yep. That's it. So you we got the full stud and I think we're

011going to have that discussion next meeting with the board and maybe a long time before um any decision is made on on sign off on moving forward that stuff and get involved. we move forward then we'll have some community groups and it's a it's a multi it's a long process of years so um it was a good meeting like >> um the facilities committee we met on 11:04 roof ship >> yeah we had a good meeting uh Jean focused on the um bonds that are expiring ing and Marcus came with a prioritized list of projects that we need to consider in using the bonds for um throughout all three buildings and different price ranges and different levels of commitment to projects. And we agreed we needed a consultant to come in and help us through

012those. So, that's what we're going to be looking at coming up. So, >> yeah. Um, a lot of capital stuff that's uh going to be coming up and kudos to Marcus who really has he has a great uh way of listing things and what's important and what's not. So, he does a great job at that. So, I really appreciate him explaining. >> Awesome. Um, cool. So, so we had um the wellness committee met today >> today. >> Oh, I was gonna say 129. So, let me >> The wellness committee met today about an hour before this meeting. Um, so I have my chicken scratch here and I'm going to try to decode it. Um, there's a very important and um initiative and partnership that is led by Dr. Hill and she will be here in

013January to do a presentation on our partnership with Stony Brook Care. Um, Sony Brook Care is going to be offering um our district mental health um awareness presentations, opportunities for parents to go to online uh Zoom courses monthly that will be in Spanish and in English. This is very beneficial because not all students want to go and talk to their school counselor and not all students feel comfortable talking to their parents. There is a hotline where they can call and get the assistance that they need. It will be parent le as well. everything to do with them parent commission and I feel like it's well I just know that it's going to be a really positive uh resource for our district and we >> will come on January to give an extensive golden Awesome. Um,

014next is uh the policy committee. >> So, our our next meeting day is this Thursday. So, we'll have more to look forward at the next meeting. >> Okay. >> Awesome. Um, all right. So, that moves us on um to a consent agenda items at this time. Are there any consent agenda items from 12.01 01 through 12.34 that any member wishes to discuss as questions. >> Uh yes. >> Okay. What uh 12.21 the uh professional development for the new language teachers just uh we can expand on that a bit on on what we're doing there. I need something. So professional development Velment experience for elementary school dual language and ENL teachers is a continuation of a plan that began in the 2425 school year. This professional development experience consists of educating teachers and TAs on classroom

015instruction techniques for teaching second language learners. After the classroom portion, the PD experience shifts to on-site coaching where the PD providers assist with crafting lessons for the classroom and then directly observing teachers using the techniques with their students. Um the trainers then provide on the spot coaching in the classroom based on what was learned and um it focuses on instructional teaching techniques that are applicable to use in a variety of designs or structures for multilingual learners. Again um these can be applied to any multilingual learner teaching that we may a program we may consider. And yeah, that's >> Are the teachers required for that or they have to sign up for it and go from there? >> Yeah, we require you to do a job. >> Is there any other questions? >> Yeah. Yeah. Uh

01612.28 28 Eagle Academy. Just wondering uh you know what what does this uh do for us? Who gets to go and is it wasn't budgeted for any? >> Yes. All the students in the high school get to go. The E emo Academy is a um professional development and uh um student support service that provides culturally responsive practice as well as social emotional learning um experiences for our students. Um it's um um budgeted in the superintendent's budget. >> And is that a sign up for the kids? Do they actually sign up for it and go or do they have a class that they bring down? >> We bring all the classes down. The entire school is a schoolwide uh professional um service for all the students and then after that the students um go into their

017own um group work and circles that we do with the kids. Um, >> yeah. And I know they came in last year, right? I'm looking down there. It's a perfect time for our student boards to see if they're actually going to suffer. >> You guys remember the Eagles stuff? It was in in May last year, right? >> Yeah. So, it's a great opportunity for the kids to learn about uh social emotional health and it's also a great opportunity to get motivated by people that have been through um interesting experiences. Um, I was motivated last year by Jordan Pierre. I'm still remember still touching me from so till this day and um it's just a cool opportunity to see different ways of life and you know maybe just like try to like reach your goals. Um

018so yeah it's just like motivational day basically. >> Cool. >> Yes, I agree. Um I remember this event. I think it was >> it was it was the May 20 Correct. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> But I think both of them had really good assemblies and I think it was really interesting because sometimes assemblies can be kind of like >> the person just like talking at you and I kind of noticed that these two were a little bit more interactive. And there was also one that we went some of the kids in superintendent cabinet went to go look at in the middle school. I don't remember what it was called, but that one was really cool. And maybe if you wanted to implement that one this year, >> the middle school one was the um the

019wrestler. >> Yeah, that one was like everyone was very like excited about that. >> So So we're getting some hints down there that we like we like that one. Okay. >> We want it in the high school. you want to. I know some people kind of choose to not come to make people want to come. Okay. >> 12.32 the safety plan that was uh I kind of got an explanation but um you know this safety plan was supposed to come back and kind of get a board resolution and is there anything we can do to help you get these things? This is the second one. So it worries me that this is the second one and sent up and not signed completely and this one is sent up and no board resolution. How can we

020help you gather that or make sure that that is the right process? >> The NATO contract was not sent up without that's not what happened. >> But we have >> we could go back. >> We have a disagreement on that. But I think that um working closely more closely with um the staff that's responsible for that, making sure that the whole board I think what happened was that there was a with the safety plan there was a that 30-day wait period and then there was no um afterwards there was no communication from anyone about that. And I just think that that um won't happen again um as um we're on top of we put some protocols in place to make sure it doesn't happen again. >> We have some protocols that help you get these

021things. All right. um pages for the yellow highlight. Um so I'm going to hold out consent agenda items 1201 and 1202 for separate action. Um so are there any other consent agenda items you need to hold out between 1203 and 12.34 um separate action? I think so. Um, so I'm going to move Do we have a motion to approve consent agenda item 12.01 to adopt a resolution to grant a partial tax uh property tax exemption for ocean rescue squad members pursuant to real property tax law section 466-m as presented. Second um will the clerk please call the role for a vote? >> Robert Zachary. Yes. >> Robbie Pearson. >> Yes. >> Nelson. >> Yes. >> Um the second one I held out. Um may I have a motion to approve consent agenda item 12.02 O2

022to adopt the resolution to resend resolution number 7.12 from the July 1st, 2025 reorganizational meeting agenda and approved the annual budget hearing to be held on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in the intermediate school library and the annual budget vote and board of education election to be held on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026 uh with voting hours from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the intermediate school room as presented. >> That's changing it to 8. >> Yeah. So, we're because right now we're not sure we're not sure if we're Yeah. So, we're not sure if we're going to paper. making the preparation to be ready for paper ballots. So, we'll reduce it by an hour to give us more time to count those ballots at the end. >> Got it. >> So, do I

023have a motion? >> Second. Um, will the clerk please call the role for a vote? >> Robert Zachary, >> yes. >> Person, >> yes. >> Sh. Yes. And move like that. >> Yes. >> Um, may I have a motion to approve consent agenda agenda items 12.03 through 12.34 as presented in the agenda? >> Um, will the clerk please call the role for vote? >> Robert, >> yes. >> Captain, >> yes. >> Jermaine Smith, >> yes. Yes. And we can write that. >> Yes. >> Um, so are there we'll move on to financial. Are there any financial items from 13.01 through 13.14 that any member wishes to discuss or this question? Um, are there any financial items from 13.01 through 13.14 that any member wishes to hold out for separate action? Um, may I have a

The board of education encourages uh public participation in school related matters at board meetings. Any group organization wishing to address the board must first identify a single spokesperson. The presentation should be as brief as possible. Speakers will be permitted to

030speak for up to three minutes. Board will not allow public session discussions involving individual district personnel or students. All speakers are to conduct themselves civily. Obscene language, other statements, threats of violence, and statements advocating racial, religious, other forms of prejudice will not be tolerated. Persons making presentations at the board meeting will address remarks to the president. Um they will direct questions or comments to the board members or other district officials only on approval of the president. >> Good afternoon. I just wanted to let you know that this is this year. So I want to thank you for comments and questions and all your attendees. I wish you all a merry Christmas, happy holidays, happy for everything that all the holidays and be safe and be kind to love yourselves, love your families, and have a

031good time and thank you. >> All right, no one else. That brings us on to um new business here. So, here you go. I um I have some Christmas gifts for you guys that I brought. >> Um Megan had figure out what's what here. But I got you a gift. Um yours a little bit different than Amy's. >> Is it exploding? >> Watch that one. Um, these are for the principles going down. Sorry gets one of the silver ones, too. Um, Amy gets one. Um, she is so Oh, that's you get a one. I Yeah, I tried to get where everybody lived here. So, Laura, you got a blue one. Um, >> oh, um, I have a blue one for Sunni and then there's a green one for me. Um, and then student board members,

032I figured they're candles. Um, no, your mom said you're not allowed to use matches yet. So, you guys here um for that. And Dr. Morel got a silver one as well. And then I have three other ones here for John and Jackie. Um, if you guys want to come get your presents and I actually have one for Jill Kapablo that I brought because she's our number one fan and comes every one. So you guys get your gifts. Merry Christmas. >> And the jeans and Brian right here. Chip, do you have anything here? >> Mon'nique, you got anything? >> All right, sir. We have the cake last. You're gonna give me cake, you have anything? >> No. >> Germaine? Uh yes, I do actually. Um happy holidays everyone. First of all, um and I just wanted

033to say a few this was a very very good meeting. Um outstanding. Um I I have some other things to say that aren't so fun. Um I just want to talk a little bit about my experience on the board. this this current iteration of the board I really really had high hopes for um and and I thought you know we've had some rough albums on the board the last four years and and I had hoped that we would we make some changes and things would move forward in a positive direction. um our two young board members outstanding that they're that um I just want to talk about an experience I had with a community member recently in the fall. Um, she was a Caucasian woman who has students in the district that I've seen a

034handful of times over the last 10 years attended the children's school together. And she asked me um who the board president is right now. And I said, "Zack doing a great job." Um, I said, "Zack." Um, she said, "Really?" And I said, "Yeah." Why? She said, "Well, you just got on board, didn't you?" I said, "Well, we did a couple years." She said, "One year." And I said, "No, we've been on for a couple years." And then she said, "Well, who is the vice president?" And I said, "What the vice president was?" And she said, "Wait a minute, she is." And I said, "Yeah." And she goes, "Man, that's messed up. And I said, "What's M?" She goes, "Well, how long have you been on the court?" I said, "A few years. I'm only my

035fourth year. Um, possibly my last year." And I said, "But it's okay." So, I've had a few experiences, more than a few, several experiences um on this board that have not been so pleasant. Um I I have one question for M. This is not you know it's not personal. She said um how many kids do you have to >> I have four children. Okay. And the reason I asked this question um is because uh it's not about me or one president believe me. Uh it's about a pattern in this district. Um I was told by a current board member flat out that I cannot be the board president because everybody knows that you are just here for the sh. And I said really? I said okay. I said so for for a minute let's just

036say that that's true. I'm here for 90 100 kids. however many you have in the district right now. And I said, most board members, correct me if I'm wrong, join boards when they have a student in the district, two students, four students, you know, and nothing wrong with that, but let's say I am here for 90 or 100 kids, which is not true. I'm here for every single student. What would be wrong with that? And that rationale just kind of blew my mind another thing I want to touch base on is that as a tribal leader I I have sat down in in the state capital, walked the halls of Congress. I've met with governors from different states, federal officials from all over the country, been on Zoom meetings with the president, helped develop regulation

037with New York State Education. But yet, here in this boardroom, I get disrespected. And it's not just me. The crap nation, my people, my blood have been on this land in Southampton before there was a Southampton school district before there were 13 colonies. As a matter of fact, there were 13 original tribes in Long Island. So, think about that for a minute. Those founding fathers came into Long Island and then, you know, shortly after that, we had 13 colonies. Um obviously I can't speak about personnel matters or things that we discuss in executive session. Um those things you know have to stay in in house and that they are a you know that's a policy that's you know across New York state. What I can speak about is some of the disrespect that has taken

038place in those executive sessions. Monique Proctor last year before we had this new board, one of our previous board members clinched their fist at Monique and jumped up out of the chair as if they were going to come across the table. >> I didn't want to use her name, but okay. So, in another instance, Monnique was told by the same person that told me, "I couldn't be the president because I'm only here for kids." Mon'nique, you can't be the vice president because there's a certain decorum that you have to have when you're in front of the public. I don't think Mon'nique has ever been disrespectful in front of the public. In fact, several occasions that person has been disrespectful to members of the public. As recently as two weeks ago, I was told to shut

039up in an executive session. Can you imagine if I had told someone to shut up, one of my colleagues? Can you imagine if I had clenched my fist and threatened to come across the table? Oh my god, he's so aggressive. We have to do something. We have to get them off the board. The double standard is unbelievable. I've seen black administrators walked off this campus by security that did absolutely nothing wrong. I have seen black administrators told, "You're not supposed to come back on this campus until we finish the investigation." I've seen other administrators, yeah, they can stay. They can finish it out. We'll wait and see what happens. I watched the former superintendent. I witnessed our former superintendent And people say, "Well, why why are you going back to the past?" Well, it continues.

040Our former superintendent showed me a Facebook post a few years back that a Shinnik parent posted and it wasn't very flattering to the school. And the board member said to Nick, Dino, why do we even want them in our district? and he pulled me aside and he said, "Look at this." And I said, "So you have administrators and you have board members that would rather lose the tens of millions of dollars that the Shikok children and the community gives to this school district by attending here. He'd rather lose that." some of the board members and administrators at the time would rather lose that than have us in the district. And he shook his head yes. Now you all talked about hurtful, disrespectful. I've been disrespected more times than I can count. I've seen other people

041in positions disrespected. There are people that say Southampton was just fine the way it was. And I say, "Yeah, as long as the good little Indians and minorities, Latinos, blacks, economically disadvantaged stay here and the establishment stays here, everything is just fine." And to be honest, some people, minorities, accept that status quo and have accepted it. It's easy. It's comfortable. Well, that's not for me. It's the same pattern. And I I don't want to get off in there, but it's the same pattern that happens in the township. And fortunately, we have some good town officials, state officials, federal officials that are in our corner. But there are many that every year say, "Hey, how'd the power out go? Did you make money? How was the turnout?" Yeah, we did. But the moment we try to

042have a concert venue, um, gas station, monuments, we get sued by every entity back and forth. And this district has been a microcosm of that treatment. So, why am I saying this all tonight? I'm saying it because I have a seat at the table and I've witnessed Dr. Morell. I've witnessed Jean publicly humiliated. I've seen it in the boardroom behind closed doors. Mon'nique, other administrators, and as long as I sit here on this seat, I will be heard. And I thought about this long and hard, and I will be running again in May. for this year again because the work isn't done here because I believe in helping all the students not just my own not just shown students and I want Southampton I truly do I say this every time I went to this

043district I played football here and that's important to me I want it to be the very best that it can be for every single child on Wall Street is yours and I just want to say thank you Mr. president. >> Thank you. >> Um Laur wanted to just recap. A couple of weeks ago, Mon'nique, myself, and Mattea went to the League of Women Voters uh workshop for running and women winning women winning women and the focus was on running for school board and where that can kind of take us. So, um it was a great experience. I was really proud of Southampton students that were there. Um, and it was a good opportunity for Mattea to be able to network with other uh, schools and there were there were several other schoolboard students there as

044well and they got to network and exchange phone numbers and come up with ideas of how those students play a role uh, in their school. So, I was just curious, maybe Mattea could talk a little bit about some ideas that she got of how we can improve student involvement with the school board. Um, I've heard some really cool ideas of them working with the, you know, principles and brainstorming together. Um, so there's plenty more we can do for Noah and Mattea moving forward. Uh the other question I had um I know we had several um retirees and we've had you know the incentive for retirement um but we extended it for January right for >> okay is there any way we can just have it just extended for everybody that was offered it in case

045because we offered it kind of late and it's kind of a big decision for people to make. So I don't know if we're extending it for some maybe we can just extend it and see you know other people would like to weigh in. Yeah, I mean the way it it was till January 30. >> Yes. >> 31st and then there was an extension approval that had opted out of their insurance health insurance. So they didn't roll back into January 31st. Um I don't see why not. I I Jean's in Italy so it seems like a >> Yeah, I would just like to say that Jean one of the reasons he did that is because he has to come up with a budget for next year. >> Yes. >> And I think he had that calculated

046to do it at that time. >> So I don't want to make that decision without him. >> Yeah. And yeah, I think you're right. It was or that was to have those numbers like kind of after the break so he could then start the budget because he starts that process at the end of January. We knew that there was only maybe one or two and those people had kind of already expressed their their interest. So, um we could discuss it with him next week and see if it's when he gets back, but I wouldn't I wouldn't want to do anything in Italy surprise back. >> Yeah. No, I think I think that there would be interest. >> Okay. >> So, that'd be great. >> Okay. >> Merry Christmas. Happy holidays everybody. >> I just have

047one more thing. I just want people to help theology the woman's daughter uh event and I just want to say I am really proud first of all for you guys decided to split and conquer. Noah mentioned to me that he really endorsed his gen culture and he would love to attend the event that was happening on the day of the woman's quarter. So they decided to divide and conquer. Um, I just want to say to Matta that I'm very proud of you and your your bravery. She was the first student in a room full of board members and other students to stand up and speak on her experience. So, I want to say I'm proud of you and I want you to know that you're on the women's voters. >> Thank you. Um, I just

048wanted to touch base on what you said. It was really interesting to hear from a bunch of different schools which we've kind of never done, which I guess is early on, but I think that's a really good idea. So, it was really awesome to kind of talk to everyone. And I think that something that I've thought about and then that kind of brought it more to my attention. And then Noah and I have been discussing is putting out a survey to our students and it's just kind of open all year round and it's just kind of for I don't know we haven't really decided on questions or anything but it would basically just be anything that's going on that they want to tell us about and it's kind of it can be anonymous. I'm sure

049we can figure out a way if we're going to be anonymous or not and just any concerns or good things that we're doing just so that we can have the student voice in a little bit more. >> It would almost be like a support thing that they would like that they could answer a bunch of times. They go back to check on their mental health and see how all the students are doing throughout the year. Um because that's a that's a needed guidance that they need to have. Um so I just want to say that as well. I have three things that I want to talk about. Um I shared my idea with this with three people today. Um it's a it's a big idea and uh some people might have mixed feelings about it.

050But um I think it's I think it's time for this because um as board members we want to see what's best for the children. I know it's volunteer volunteer but um if you really think about it I feel that it is best that each board member tries to go to a lunch period between fourth period through 8th period be open on this with me and if it doesn't work it doesn't work. Um and they sit down with the students and have conversations with them of what's where we do really well in the school and what can we have improvement on. um that way students can uh you know give their feedback to the people that are elected leaders in the district and I think it would be very beneficial helpful um and it also provide

051student voice not just us too but all the assistant all the kids that are in the high school this goes for middle school too you can pick two two board members to go to the um high school say one time in November one time in April and then one time in May and one time in October for middle school and it just provide some insight, some input and I just think it'll be very helpful. Um I was the other thing I was talking to trusty proctor over the weekend about opening in the winter uh indoor spaces where kids after they finish their lunch and their grades are good and they can go into the um into like the gym just like play basketball and stuff to release the like get a little blood flow going.

052to increases attendance attendance rates and all this stuff. It's it's amazing what all this research says and I think we're missing a little bit of it but I think we can do it if we put our minds to it. Um two more things kind of speak Trusty Smith. I just want to get my voice out there and just tell you guys what I'm thinking. Um so when Mr. comes back. Uh I'm going to be building a pantry for the high school and it's going to be a place where part of the Hampton donates some of the food that they that they uh receive from anonymous donors. Uh we have one in the middle school right now and we'll have one in the high school as well um in the next month or so and I

053think that'll be great as well. Uh I spoke to Mr. Dilva uh a month or two ago about the capital budget thing for the outdoor improvements in the high school. Um, and I think that that that'll be really cool because it'll just be like a home makeover. And I've been I've been going to Hampton yards every once in a while to go there and see ideas of what we can do with the plantings and stuff like that. I got a big landscape portrait of uh being being able to improve certain areas. So, uh I'm definitely working as hard as I can and I'm giving my best, but uh it takes time. So, I'm doing best I can. Thank you guys for your support. Happy holidays everyone. >> Thank you. Awesome. You have anything? So, what

054time do you guys have lunch on Friday? >> Um, I think the lunch is 4. >> 4 to 8. So, it's from 9:41 to 117. You guys have lunch at 9:4. >> Yeah. >> So, So, no. What? What time is your guys lunch? >> I have lunch 7. >> I have I had 10th period. So, it goes from 10:21 to 11:05. >> So, so you're gonna be there Friday if I if I come and sit and eat lunch with you, you're gonna want to acknowledge me? >> All right. So, Friday, I'm going to come eat lunch with you at the school. Okay. And I'll hang around. You guys can pick my ear. All right. I'll be there. If anybody else wants to eat lunch with me on Friday one question, the gym's not open when

055you're at lunch at all. >> Not open. It's like there's not an option to go down there. If anybody wants to go play basketball, they they can't. You have to stay in the lunchroom. You have to go to the library. >> You're not allowed to go in the gym area. not the main gym. There's two different locations. Gym class stays in one area and then you have that lunch period from fourth to eighth period and you let kids go down there if they want to have a little activity. There's no activity throughout the day and I think it's very important to get the blood. >> Yeah, definitely. Listen, one some of our best memories in high school is going down and playing basketball and uh at lunch. So, and it's it's good. You got to

056start moving to get through it. >> It could be for 10 minutes. That's all all it takes. I'm down with that. >> We would need a certified athletics person or certified coach to be a but it's not as easy as just sending kids to the gym or something like that. You need them to have a certified teacher. >> Okay. Well, there are a lot of lunch monitor. Like there's four lunch monitors in the cafeteria alone. >> We're paying these stipens, right? I'd love to pay that stipen. That's that's one I can get behind uh with no problem. It's going to be the kids and kids are out there getting getting excited playing basketball, doing whatever. All right. >> Awesome. So, is it okay if I just Yeah. >> I was waiting for a moment. >>

057First thing, first thing, you know, you know, one thing I have to say, I've been very, very impressed with you and your vision. Um, the things that he's doing, the things that he wants to implement. I mean, you're you're a visionary leader like I always said to you and uh you definitely have a bright future ahead of you and this is just the beginning. I thought I would say to you. Um so just I just want to give him a round of applause because you know for really come to the board meeting and really disclose some of these visions it takes a lot. So just wanted to know that I appreciate you. >> Awesome. Thank you. And before we close it, yeah, there is trust lesson that was given by our students at the high

058school to our board members here from Miss Daniko's class. So there's different flavors there of translation, but if you want to take a look, just want to acknowledge and just thank all our students for all the great work that they do at the high school. >> Thank you. Thank you. >> This looks good. And we have to actually return to executive session. So, we're gonna take these with us when we go. Um, so do I have a motion to return to executive session at 8:49? Laura, motion. Second roof. All in favor? >> All right. Thank you.
