Open questions. >> Okay. Good evening, East Hampton BOE. Uh we're uh streaming to YouTube. Phone lines are open. This meeting is being recorded. You may begin. It's just love. >> Okay. Welcome everybody to Stampton School Board meeting. Do I have a motion to open the meeting? >> Megan second. >> Everyone stand please for the pledge of allegiance. Pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty, justice for all. And before everyone sits down, we would just like to have a moment of silence for two um past employees of East Hampton um school district who passed away. Uh Mr. Jim Clark and Mr. Kevin Graham. Thank you. And so we'll call up Kathy. Yeah. >> Thanks, guys. Um I

would like to call up Toby. Come stand next to me. >> Uh Toby has been one of our standout premier basketball players for all four years that I have been here. Uh this year, Toby scored his thousandth point. He is one of only 17 people in East Hampton history to do this accomplishment. And his career total is 1,143 total points, making Toby the sixth highest score in Eastampton District. >> Right. >> That's awesome. Uh we just wanted the the board wanted to publicly recognize you and say congratulations for a really really great accomplishment and we are all incredibly proud to be >> wonderful. I feel sorry for you. Are you going to go to school? >> Yeah, I'm doing a bre pier at a school called St. Thomas Moore in Connecticut. >> Play basketball game.

>> No, HE'S GONNA PLAY GOLF. THANK YOU. >> SHE WANTS to take a picture. >> Can we get one mom and dad too? >> Yes. >> Great. >> Yeah. Yeah. coaching. >> So, >> thank you. >> Oh, congratulations. >> So, I take it we'll see Toby in the Hall of Fame someday. 10 years. >> Thank you. Thank you. Thanks. Yeah. >> All right. Great. So, now we're going to start the budget. >> Yes, we will start the uh budget uh hearing with uh Dr. Soraniano. Well, we uh as you know, we have a modest budget and we've had some increases and decreases over the years, but it's basically been relatively the same. Um, you can see the categories. I'm not going to go through all of them because not much have changed over the years,

but what I can say is we've been strategic about making some increases to our specials, which is uh technology, art. If you recall the discussion from last year, >> what we were budgeting in those areas remained the same for about 10 years and that's just not realistic with increased costs. So I'm, you know, I'm happy that the teachers and staff worked hard to keep it like that, but in in truth those needed to, you know, change over time. So all three areas have been adjusted. So this would be the final year. If you notice, I don't know if your pageionation is the same as mine, but pageuh three of seven down at the bottom in the technology that increased to $2,300. And that's Suzan's technology, which is that the last of those four specials. So,

it's a, you know, it's a modest increase overall, but it doubles his basically doubles his budget um and gives him some additional funds to be able to because all students in the building run through those four classes. >> And I know I think it's it's very appropriate otherwise that would really be the only significant change. We continue to struggle with the cost of chairs, the cost of professional musical, but that impacts a lot of kids. We see that as a a single cost, but remember the practices take place over several months and a lot of students are involved and it's really you have to think of it that way rather than the single event. And then the chairs, I wish there were something we could do. Great business to be in, you know, >> beautiful

on that front lawn. >> Yeah, it is beautiful. >> So, no lockers, >> nothing to replace. >> Windows are in the butt. >> I'm sure you have everything on, right? >> Great. >> Does anybody have any questions? Miss >> Q. >> Hi. Good evening everybody. >> Um, I'd like to open by thanking the board of education for your continued support of the elementary school. I think very similarly to the middle school. You'll see that the 2026 2027 proposed budget for John Marshall is very similar to years past. Um, like many things in education, so much of our needs are cyclical and the same things do come up, you know, year after year. So, you'll be familiar, I think, with a lot of the items that you see. Um, and again, I, you know, I won't

go through each line, but the supervision regular school really takes care of all of our building awards and needs. Um, we also have included, now this is, I believe, the third year in a row, the pre-K screening materials that the state requires us to do for our prek program. and under teaching regular school is all of our classroom needs and the small updates when rugs need to be replaced and whiteboards need to be replaced and our field trips all fall under that uh that line. Um but you'll see that there really is not much of a change from our budget from from last year. I think we when we we go through this I know you know most of these are very similar the it's really very apparent that the the budgets you guys are

seeing are obviously very small and minuscule in relation to the total budget obviously most of our monies are spent uh in personnel um and our personnel aotments and I want to uh commend all of the administrators on there work with personnel we've maintain we're maintaining our staff uh we're not cutting programs and we're we're pretty well staffed right Now, um we're examining every retirement. There are none this year except for somebody who's sitting in the audience to act on later, but we won't talk about that. Um so we they've done really good job on, you know, continuing the same program that the kids are getting. Um we'd like we'd love to add a lot of different programs, but it's just not feasible within the tax. Right. >> Thanks. >> Thank you. Thank you. Miss Allen

talking, Miss Magguire. >> Good evening. Um, first I do want to just share a little bit of um good news before we go into the budget. We um we've actually partnered with Suffach County to um provide related services for some of our preschoolers. So that's been for county reimbursement. So, that's been um a good plus. It took us seven months or so, a little longer to get that all put together. And I don't know how it will hurry out. I'm working with the business office on how we're going to execute all the paperwork and so forth, but it's all good news moving forward for our preschoolers to get services. >> That's great. >> Yeah, it's great. And when it comes to our budget, um you'll notice that there was not um a huge actually no

increase um overall and really things have stayed similar. We we don't always anticipate what we're going to need, but we we've cushioned it a little bit uh here and there. Um there's been some changes. I don't know if you have any questions. Primarily, it's hard to go through every line for for John Marshall um and the middle school, but overall we really have stayed similar. Have we have we um what are we hearing about our opening up our own go to school? >> We're continuing to look at it to make see if it's still costefficient. Um so right now there are some significant issues regarding costs and cost increases with it. Obviously from a philosophical standpoint all of us agree that bringing back most of our kids would be um paramount. Turns out, you know,

East Hampton is and and these two team ladies have done a great job identifying our kids. U we would bear a lot more of the cost of this program um because they're really our kids and and just didn't seem financially feasible. But with that said, we're still looking at other opportunities and I don't want to get ahead of myself. We're looking at other organizations to come in and there's some space issues right now that are taking place with the town and discussions very positive discussions with the town on the space too. So those things are out there. >> That was you know the main thing is we don't want to rush into it the wrong way. Yep. >> Make sure that when we did introduce a new program here or an alternative program here that

would be well thought out and it would be well planned so that um our parents would feel very confident that we were bringing two weeks back. Um we have >> So it's still on the table. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And you know, um, every year, um, I present to you before Sarah got here about proceeds, um, increases, um, we tried to keep it with, um, Sam, um, the business office. We tried to look at way for that. So, um, thankfully that's not impacting our budget as much this year. Um, again, we can have a family move in that would be different, but, um, for right now, we really look through that very carefully. So, thank you, Samantha. Thank you. >> Thank you. pretty one. Um, taking just a quick look at my my budget. Uh,

we really were actually able to reduce the budget proposal uh by a little bit um from previous years. Um, and part of that is just our continuing to lean on the grant funding to supplement our programs um that we offer through email and philosophy programs. on and you know I'm really happy to say that I think dual language program uh is still middle school but good things from both teachers and families um and we're excited to continue them into seventh grade next year. Um you know really most of the um items that you see listed in the budget are the same as last year uh in terms of what we are using to uh support our programs. One minor change you'll see is that we are no longer using language line translation services. We've moved

to a company and I mean basically they were able to give us a better rate so we're getting more. >> Great. >> Okay. >> Thank you guys. Um, budget to budget, the athletics department is down 7.7%. Um, and that's thanks in part to all of you and the support for Sam, Tim, and Adam. Over the past four years, we've been able to replace approximately 80% of our football helmets, which is one of the most expensive things that we have. Uh, we've become very smart in how we're trying to deal with that. At Christmas time, like times right now, they'll send me things saying, "Hey, you can buy 10 helmets, you get two free." when you're talking $450 a pop for a helmet, that becomes very cost effective. Um, couple things that did go up this

year. Section 11 um, officials fees will go up to approximately 4% and section 11 fees will go up to 1%. That was recommended to us by our auditors also at section 11s just to make sure down the road you don't know fiscally if something is going to happen. So, you need to protect yourselves. But budget to budget, we um thank you so much for all your support and everything that comes with athletics. We feel like that we really have a lot of good um things behind us and nothing will fall short for our kids. Most important >> thank you. >> So uh Sarah had to attend to an emergency. So I'm just going to move her to the next meeting. So we could probably do our budget, but I think she'd be upset. I know

I would be. So, uh the budget >> Okay, let's go with >> Is it a disclosure? >> Dr. Sor, are you back? >> Oh, do we do we need to close? >> Okay, >> so our uh this good food being good club has launched a towel drive. This is a brand new uh it's not a fundraiser, it's a materials razor for the kids to bring from home clean but used to old towels and that sort of thing and they're going to the the kids that are part of the club are going to put it all together and bring it to ARF. So David Catalto set this up with ARF where they'll use these the old towels and put them in the you know and in the containers for the animals and it's a great way.

We do this to set the kids up for high school for service learning because it's very difficult and we've talked about this before and challenging to find placements for middle schoolers. We just can't send them out into the world themselves without supervision. So we do them these projects as school. This is very similar to the Thanksgiving giveback um that we collect, you know, canned goods and and food for the food pantry. Um and this is done exactly the same. They decorated some if you come from general teacher conferences, you'll see in the hallway there are paper boxes that decorated with animals on it and there schoolwide announcements and then students just drop them off so there's no pressure to participate. Same with the canned goods. We don't do that in home room on purpose because

you don't want any want to feel like certain individuals are bringing them in, others are not. Very passive and appropriate with this kind of a fun. So, it's the first time we're doing this one. It should be should be interesting. >> They're always asking for towels and sheets and blankets. >> I wasn't aware of asking. Yeah, >> it's a great idea. >> Oh, yeah. I'm going to bring some towels to my parent teacher conference. >> Perfect. You'll see the boxes in the hallway. And that's the per Sarah, thank you. That's the perfect segue of parent teacher conferences tomorrow. We have an early dismissal at 10:50 and then evening hours both tomorrow following day. And then uh as Sarah also mentioned at the beginning of the meeting on the winter games kicked off and the first

category was Greek and Roman mythology and I have to say the kids did exceptionally well. There were 219 participants and he had two perfect papers on very difficult questions. So 12 out of 12 I circulated the questions parents just so you could see but one of our sixth graders Bennett uh long and one of our eighth graders Ruby Wing at 12 out of 12 and the bonus questions are really hard. >> They were hard. They were very hard. >> So I tried >> quite impressive. >> Better than even the staff. The top staff score was 11 out of 12. >> Wow. >> So that's >> and that was again Mr. Catalto. So he's quite a wealth of information. >> That's all I have. >> Thank you. >> So March seems to be a busy month

um at John Marshall. I wanted to share that our second graders are participating in an exhibit at the Parish Art Museum. The theme is Long Island History of Ecological Art and Care. Our second graders have painted some watercolors. Um, and the exhibit will be open from March 7th through April 26th. So, if you're driving through Southampton and have some time, please stop in to see their exhibit. And, um, I will also be sending out flyers through the gingerbread and can send them to the board as well. Uh, as a reminder, it's also March month and uh, Mrs. Moyer has a wealth of fun activities planned for this month. Um, the week of the 16th is our week of surprise readers. So, also if you would like to be a guest reader at the library, you

can email Patty Moyer or myself and we would love to have you in spirit week, the week of the 23rd. So, you know, keeping dull March not so dull, we hope. and she has come up with a new um idea this year of mystery in the library where students can come in and check out a book that is wrapped. So students don't know the the genre of the book or you know um um who wrote the book or who recommended the book but teachers are making recommendations. The books are being wrapped and students can come and pick a mystery book for the month of March. We have our um musical performance coming up. I can't believe how fast it's coming. On March 26th at 6 p.m. I will also get an invitation out for all

of you. The school performance is on the 25th at 9:00 a.m. and I'll make sure to include that in what I send out to you. So, it's more convenient for you to come to the morning performance. We would love to have you on March 25th at 9:00 a.m. Um, the fourth and fifth graders have been working very hard. Um, it's sure to be a delightful show. I'm excited to see it. And then we also have parent teacher conferences this month on the 11th and 12th and we will have 11:30 dismissal um to accommodate all of the appointments for parents and we're looking forward to having confusion coming up on the chat. >> Yes, that was my next >> next award meeting. You got to see. Um I'm not going to steal Stella's thunder because she's

probably going to talk about March Madness, right? Okay. So, I'll leave that alone. And uh so, um in the words of athletics, we are twothirds of the year through. Um so, we are getting ready to start spring sports, which I can't believe if you look outside, it sure doesn't look like that. Um on Monday, we had our spring coaches meeting today. Um some big things happening here in Bonik this weekend. Back wrestling in Albany. Ronco Campsy. He was our 126 pound wrestler. He finished fifth in New York State. Quite an accomplishment. I know he's not happy with fifth, so I told him next year he'd be first. Um this weekend coming up on Thursday, we'll leave for the swimming state championships. That will be Friday and Saturday in Itha, New York. Um and we have

five Bonikers that will be swimming upstate. So we are really proud of them and it should be a great weekend. Love driving upstate. Stella. >> Um, so something that everyone's been preparing for has been March Madness. There's been a lot of dance practicing, um, creating art panels and decorating. Um, so the, um, Thursday March Madness is at 400 p.m. here in the gym. And then we'll have like the March Madness schedule on Friday and have our little inschool um, shows. And um, so everyone is really excited about that. We've been doing a lot of preparing even before winter break. So, a lot is going to happen. And um student council also send presentations to each grade just to give them a little recap of what to do. And it was especially important for the freshman

who need a little bit of help to get excited for it. Um but scholarships are due Monday for seniors, which is a big deal. Um so thank you for the guidance department for being open um first period and nth period helping everyone figure out their scholarships and write them. Um build on coming back obviously everyone says it's like changing their life. Um the consensus was that it was just life-changing and a lot of new bonds were made. The group is really really tight-knit. Um there was an article in the East Hampton Star who was written by one of our um one of my schoolmates Melanie Viscayeno and it's a really great article if you want to read it. Thank you. >> Yeah. >> So um Malawi is one of the hardest tracks that build on

offers. So it was a huge deal um just because the living conditions um the food the bathroom conditions in specific >> are really hard. Um and then LIS and NIC round two um came out. So we have five students um from our school going to NIC round two which is New York State Science and Engineering Fair and Long Island Science and Engineering Fair. Um so >> how many students are on? >> Five. So those are Sophie Lancashire, Ella Manu, Wilmer Vu Verdugo, Angie Castillo, and myself. Um Sophie, Ella, and Wilmer also made it to Lysa round two. So yeah, >> congratulations. >> Okay. >> Thank you. >> Uh so let's go to the >> superintendent. What do you >> comments? >> Do we have any um public comments from the audience for agenda items only?

>> No. >> Okay. LTV, do we have any public comments for agenda items? >> We have no callers on the line. >> So, we'll go to the consent agenda. Do I have a motion to accept the consent agenda? >> Make a motion. Second. >> Any oppos? >> All in favor? >> There we go. Okay. Any of those? Okay. >> Kathy um >> Kathy's retirement that's in there. Kathy's retirement in there. >> Yes. >> Okay. We missed it. >> No, you said it's in the consent. It's all >> our athletic director is retiring >> at the end of the school year. Much to um I think everybody's dismay. Um, >> I know we'll honor you. Now I have to have a speech. We had no retirees. Now I have to talk about you at the retirement.

>> I mean, you know, >> so she's going to be the only retiree. So it's like you're a party. >> You deserve it. >> Huge loss for the community. >> Thank you. >> Huge loss. >> No, it has been my honor and my privilege. >> Well, we'll party in June. Perfect. We have to go across the street of no alcohol. >> That's right. >> Okay. Um so we'll start with 81 memorandum of agreement. Um recommended that the board approve the memorandum of agreement between East Hampton Union Preschool District and the East Hampton Administrators Association concerning a one-time retirement incentive for the 2026 2027 school year. Do I have a motion? Make a motion. Second. >> All in favor? >> I. >> Any opposed? >> Okay. >> 82. Annual budget vote and trustee election May 19th,

0292026. Recommended that the board approve the annual meeting budget vote and trustee election of the East Tampa Union Free School District be conducted on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026 from 1 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Do I have a motion? >> I'll make the motion. Second. All in favor? Any opposed? Now, this um this year we're going to have a little bit of a change because we're doing paper. >> Yes, we are. >> Yes. And I know uh 27 East did an article on it's all over the place. Uh for us in our size, we've done paper ballots before. Uh we did it in co we handled approximately almost I think almost 50 uh paper ballots um officially. Uh Julie and I spent a great deal of time evaluating it. Fuly was in touch with all the

district clerks. Our district size um and um I think our you know kind of the idea was why spend the money there's money maintenance fees. It's not what it looks like on the surface. The bigger districts um you know uh some central districts in Suffach County. It's a different story when you have 10,000 students and you know 50,000 voters or or whatnot. Um but we don't have that and Julie feels very confident that I don't want to speak for you. and she she can handle it. Not going to be an issue. And we're saving a substantial amount of money by not doing uh the machines. >> Yeah. Cuz we would have to buy the machines and we have to store them and then we have to clean them and maintenance them and all that. >>

Then we have to try to get stuff for the machines which you know a few years >> it's not as if you're just going to get a machine and everything falls into place. >> They have to be stored special place. You have to hire a maintenance person to be there on spot. There's a lot to it and I understand why but it just with the people we hire and we bring in and to add that additional cost which would probably I would say for the electricity over probably around $10,000. >> We don't need to pass those costs up to the taxpayers. >> There was no reason >> especially we usually have a few hundred people like co year was like three times what we normally Yes. >> Right. And are we going to do what

we did back then was we had the cameras so they everybody could watch remotely to you know >> Yeah. We can do that. Great. Yeah, because the community actually was able to watch them. >> Yeah, because usually the community is able to they're also able to also watch in person too if they want to. Right. >> Okay. Great. >> All right. Next. So, we have um recommended that the board approve the person. This is number 83. Recommended the board approve the personnel appointments for the services at the district's annual school budget vote and election to be held on May 19th, 2026. We have Julie Bistran as chairperson, Jennifer Willingham, Sher Ross, Stephanie Otto, and so on. Um, do I have a motion? >> Make a motion. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I post.

Okay. Number four. Recommended the board approve the annual contract agreements for the 2025 2026 school year. They are all below. I have any I have a motion. I make a motion. Second. >> All in favor? >> I opposed. I'm sorry. I'm getting used to this. Usually I usually listen to JP do them. Okay. 85. Um, donations. Recommended that the board accept with gratitude the following donations. We have a donation of 39 copies of the book the book Montalk Mike in the amount of $5335 from Book Hampton to be used by the elementary school. Can I have a motion? Make a motion. >> Second. >> All approved. All All in favor? I post. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. >> Yes. Okay. >> Number six, budget transfers. Recommended the board approve the budget transfers the 20252 school

year um which are below. Have a motion. >> I make it. Second. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I post. >> Okay. Number seven. recommended that the board approve the second reading and adoption of the following revised policies. Procurement, uniform grant guidance for federal awards, school safety plans, data network and security access, concussion management, annual organizational meeting, board of education members, nomination and election. May I have a motion? I'll make a motion. Second. All in favor? >> I >> opposed. Okay. Number eight. Second reading and adoption of policy cyber security incident response parents bill of rights for data privacy and security. Um recommended that the board approve the second reading and adoption of these new policies. May I have a motion? >> I make a motion. >> Second. >> All in favor? >> I

post. Okay. Now we're down to old business. Do we have any old business when I business? Um, new business snow and heating budget. >> Uh, yeah. So, uh, our snow budget obviously in the past few years we've had we've obviously, you know, came out came out with plus in that area. Uh, not so much this year. So, uh, Sam, I mean, we've exceeded our our budget aotment obviously. >> Little bit. Yeah. Um, and what about heating in general? I mean, we're fine. >> But the snow is it's like six figures, right? >> We about $96,000. So, >> let's hope it doesn't snow anymore. We've already spent 238,176. >> Yeah. >> Between our own expenses, our contractor's expenses, the materials, the meal, >> it needs to stop still. >> Yeah. >> And we all agree with

that. >> Yeah. I got a question about snow removal. Going to start our spring school uh uh sports season. How many of our fields will be we still got a lot of snow on right? Is there any way to get the snow off the field? >> Have we looked at that? >> Warming right now has been amazing. They've been up on the turf in the track >> and they make circles. And what will happen now that it's starting to get warmer? Well, as soon as that sun hits that turf, it will start to melt it. You know, they also you also don't want to violate the what, you know, the warranty you have on the turf by having someone go on there that doesn't know what they're doing and make corner the wrong way and

all of a sudden turf's flying everywhere. Um cuz I don't want to sit in front of you guys. >> Didn't that happen in West Hampton? Somebody went on the turf. >> Some went on the turf in West Hampton and an employee of this district. >> Could have been >> who's retired, but we've mentioned Mr. including his son to play as a frog. >> Yeah. So, we will mention snow off the field. You have a >> the sun will melt the rest of it. But have we got like the turf field? Have we gotten snow off that field? >> We Yes, that's what I'm talking about. They're making they're making areas right now. Right now with the rain is helping dramatically today and the next couple of days, the warmer it keeps getting, the better it's

going to be. Can I say that we're going to be on all our fields on Monday? No. But we have alternatives things. We have indoor space that's already available. You know, we've been blessed the last couple of years when we really haven't had a lot of snow, we've been able to get out. Right now, you can't even see the tennis courts. All you see is white. So hopefully with it by I'm hoping that by the end of next week with the weather that's coming in next week, it's going to be in the mid50s. Should have been a meteorologist also, but I look at the weather I think more than they do. Uh that looks like we're we have some good things. Also, we've been in talks with this town. The town has been amazing with

us allowing us to use Stephen Hands if we can get on it, especially with soft debt because I don't foresee us getting on soft wheel for quite a while. >> Our property and yes, it is go back. You want to go back? >> Um, okay. Um two, this the bond. >> Yeah. So, uh just to give an update on the bond to the board. Um we've we've looked at the for the the way the propositions are going to be uh worded. So there were and and Sam and I have worked with our bond attorney uh Bill Jackson over the last few weeks. Uh so we'll have the three. The first one which would be the uh $64 million that has no tax increase tied to it. That's going to be our board bond composition one.

Then two would be what uh the board decided to put up the pool which would have a slight tax increase and then the athletic field as the community had requested to put them up. Um we have realized uh through conversations with our architect that um you know we made number two and three contingent on number one passing which makes makes sense. Um the problem becomes with um three as a standalone building. So if two went down and three was voted in um there would be a substantial increase in the cost of that uh item um meaning the sports facility which would be the full-size court and the small turf uh indoor field um to increase it would have to be attached to the building. So there was no aotment for the money in that. So,

what we've with our attorney's advice done is attached Proposition three to two. So, for for three to pass, two has to pass. Um because that's the building that will have the bathrooms in it and be attached to the building. Otherwise, we would have to go back and add a pro, I would say approximately $10 million, which would be something that, you know, I don't find, you know, as a I don't see as a tenable solution to to going back and and increasing that budget that that much. Um, personally, I didn't think, you know, I think from my input uh from community members and employees, community members, um, I didn't think that was going to be an option anyway. I really thought, you know, people had thought about the pool. I I didn't think the just

from talk that the other one would pass over the so it's just something we have to do. Um we can't go back and just add uh money to that thing. The other one you want to talk about what we're doing with the pool. >> Yeah. So uh you know we we are we took a careful look at the pool budget uh because you know as Adam was alluding to each of these bond projects has to operate as independent budgets and you can't you can't mix the two together so or the three together. So, we'd like to we're going to recommend that the full bond go to the voters 45 million instead of 43 million slight increase, but we want to make sure that we have appropriated enough money to do the whole project under the

terms that we understand. And we have talked about this sometimes in the past, but I think it's worth mentioning one more time. If the state adopts the project labor agreement of law if may this whole budget is going to have to be revisited because it's going to significantly impact our ability to do any of these projects. Um so >> because of the labor costs >> because labor costs are going to go up by 40 40%. >> Right. >> On March 17th the board is going to be presented with four resolutions. One is to uh adopt the secret statement, the secret study that has been going on uh concerning all of these projects and the other three are to put these uh other three items on the ballot to the voters. Again, the first being the

$64 million bond, second being the pool pool uh the first bond must pass for the pool to pass and the third being the gym. And as I just said, the the athletic, you know, auxiliary gym, uh, the pool has to pass in order for the gym to pass because there's no way to do it without them. >> Thanks, Sam. Okay, public comments. Any public comments on the calendar? >> LTV, do we have any public comments? >> We have no callers on the line. >> Yes. Oh, hi. >> Um, I just wanted to >> Shnie, come up. Come up. Say your name. >> Hi. My name is Shaunie Fa. I'm the uh girls track coach for the varsity team up here. Um, I just I we were in talks with Kathy. We were trying to uh

I was trying to get a seventh grader onto the team and was told that there were some discussions about seventh graders participating on varsity sports and kind of wanted to get some understanding on that like is if that's something that's being prohibited or is that a new policy? We're just trying to >> it's it's always been the policy but seventh graders for eighth graders. Yes. But seventh graders, we hold the line. So it's not anything new. >> I just I'm being concerned just about talking about any specific talking about policies in general that >> Right. Nothing about individual students or anything. >> Individual students. >> Yes. Sorry. >> Okay. No, I'm just wondering because I don't know if I'm misreading the policy that's on the school website that says that it's following the state rule

that nothing no one under seventh and eighth grade. So I just I I was trying to understand >> I need to answer that question. Yeah. What what is on the school website is what the state law is. School districts are allowed to be more restrictive. They can't be less restrictive, but they can be more restrictive. Since I've walked into this door, it has always been that seventh graders are not permitted on athletic teams if there is the same sport allowable at the modified level, which there is a trap. We did bring this to the athletic committee and it has been discussed in executive session and I was going to talk to you about it tomorrow. >> I'm so sorry. I I was told it was going to be discussed today. No, it isn't discussed at

executive session because when you're talking about >> people and individuals and children's names, it should not be discussed in a public. >> Um, well, thank you. >> Okay. Um, I think we're done. Motion to adjurnn. >> Move. >> Second. Second. >> All right. All in favor? I post John has
