I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all. We don't have any video conferencing and I think first up we have an update from the PTA. >> Good evening. >> Um over the past month, the Still Water PTA has been busy hosting events and planning several upcoming activities for our students, family, community. On February 26th, the PTA held its first paint and sip night at the American Legion. We reserved 22 tickets and had 18 participants to attend. A local artist guided the group through a painting session and the event received very positive feedback. Based on that response, we're hopeful to host another one in the future. Our middle school high school glow bingo night

had to be postponed due to inclement weather. Um, new date has not yet been selected, but we're hoping to reschedule it soon. We also have an Aderondack Thunder hockey game fundraiser coming up next Wednesday, March 18th at 7 p.m. Ticket sales have been slower than expected, so we reduce the ticket price from 23 to $18 to help minimize potential losses. At this time, we still have approximately 80 85 tickets remaining. Um, park or pick a reading partner is currently underway with this year's theme being adventure and reading. Our park activity, our committee has organized a full calendar of events events. so far have included last week's book fair. This Friday, we'll hold our annual glow dance, which will take place in a new location this year at the Stillwater Community Center. Students are also participating

in a a spirit week featuring different ways to dress for various adventures. During the final week, we will host community readers visiting classrooms, an art night featuring a guided drawing for students and families, and we'll wrap up the program with our annual guptal skate night. As part of our effort to become more active with middle and high school students, we'll be hosting our first middle school high school family night. This event will feature a light-hearted volleyball game between students, families, and teachers who would like to participate. This will take place on Tuesday, March 24th at 6 PM. The PTA will once again be offering the Dianesaro PTA memorial scholarship, awarding two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors who have demonstrated involvement in the community. The applications are currently available at the guidance office. Looking ahead, we're

excited to host our first PTA craft fair at the elementary school on Saturday, April 18th. Vendor spots are already full and the PTA will also be having a table featuring our available spiritware. And finally, we're excited to announce that the inflatable costume race, which was cancelled on Halloween due to the power outage, has been rescheduled and and will now take place on Mission Day, June 12th. Thank you for supporting PTA. >> Thank you. Uh, next is public input on agenda items. Um, read this or see if anybody wants to meet first. >> Is there any public comment on uh agenda items? Okay. Um, next I need a motion to approve the consent agenda items inclusive of the board minutes of the 225 2026 board of education meeting and the CSE recommendations. >> So second questions

or comments. Motion carries. Um, next we have uh superintendent updates. >> Hello everyone. Um, just quickly, uh, this weekend, uh, was the sectional finals, uh, boys and girls hoop, uh, didn't end the way we wanted it to, uh, but two great seasons again. Um, you know, again, losing in the finals, that's that's not anything to be ashamed of. Um, also, just a a quick update on this this coming Monday. Remember, we you guys approved our change in the professional development day from the 20th to the 16th. So, back when we first started talking about it, it seemed like it was so far away. Well, here it comes. It's Monday. Uh there's been a lot of a lot of leg work, a lot of conversations. Um and I think, you know, it it came together just

recently. Um the administrators all had a a Google meet um from the group from Corinth who were collaborating with uh and I'm I'm thinking most of it's worked out of his Wednesday. So, I'm we're very close if not completed with it. And we're really looking forward to it. Thank you for the support for allowing us to bring in a national speaker. It's it's been a long time. Um and if you want to his his name um excuse me, Brian Mendler uh will will be here. So if you guys want to YouTube him, whatever, we'll see what his his focuses and stuff. And I think it's um something I know Corinth the superintendent there we talked about things um that we needed and you know and they of course most schools are needing the same things

and I think that should be exciting. Uh we do have them for a second day. So Kin is with us for the first day and we have uh Mr. Mendler embedded in our pretty much in the elementary school all day. Uh Rebecca did a nice schedule where he'll be pushed into classes and you know um hopefully there's some some things he can really really help us out. I know teachers uh we we go to a lot of professional developments and it's a lot of uh ideas but you never really see the solution or given a solution. I'm not sure that they really always exist but uh we're hoping you know this answers some questions and gives gives us some some direction. And it's always good. I know um teachers always enjoy know sometimes they get

a little skeptical but usually at the end of the day when you're meeting new people and discussing things you know so our teachers will be meeting grade levels or departments at the at the secondary level um to discuss things you know curriculum and instruction stuff like that but of course the behaviors and how we're move forward. So thank you for that support. >> That's it. Thank you. Right. Next we have our business administrator updates. >> Thank you. Um phase one of the capital project has been approved by SED. We received the final approval last night or last week rather. Um so as we speak K are finalizing the bid specs and we anticipate the bids being received uh next month with hopefully board approval next month as well. And then one other item uh this

happened last year. We're required to have a Bosey's board budget vote meeting on a specific day. This year happens to be Tuesday, April 21st. Our board meetings are on Wednesday 4:15 and Wednesday 429. Um the superintendent and I are hoping to keep those meetings as scheduled and we are hopeful that we can get five board members that would be available at some point during the day on 421 to come in for a literal twominute meeting just for the Bosey's budget vote. Um so tomorrow I will uh follow up with an email just to see everybody's availability and hopefully we can work that out >> and no other action will be taken place. Does that need to be a public meeting? >> Yeah, that would happen. >> Yeah, if you do a calendar update, I think

you could probably see once you get five. Thank you. Next up, student board member reports. Uh I would say school function as has been and uh excited for professional development day on Monday. >> Thank you. >> All righty. I feel like I'm going really fast, but now we're down to personnel. Okay. I need a motion to approve the retirement of Christina Decker as a sixth grade teacher effective June 30th, 2026. Mrs. Decker has worked for Stillwater for almost 28 years, and we thank her and wish her well in her retirement. Is she here today? No. >> Okay. >> Uh, questions or comments? >> Thank you, sir. >> Yes. Thank you. Uh, all those in favor? >> I >> opposed. Motion carries. Next, we have uh I need a motion to approve the retirement of Jennifer

O'Brien as a school counselor effective June 30th, 2026. Mrs. O'Brien has worked for Still Water for almost 27 years and we thank her and wish her well in her retirement. >> Is Mrs. O'Brien here? No. >> So, move. >> Second. >> Questions or comments? >> Thank you to her as well. Um, all those in favor? >> I >> opposed. Motion carries. 012>> I. >> Opposed? Motion carries. I need a motion to approve the resignation of Mary Patnod as a lunch recess monitor effective June 30th, 2026. So move >> second. >> Questions or comments? >> All those in favor? >> I >> opposed. Motion carries. I need a motion to accept the resignation of Diana Wise from >> Oh, I'm sorry. Reassignment. I can't make that. Motion to accept the reassignment of DNOIS from head custodian to senior custodian in the amount of $42,962.74 per the CSEA agreement. So move >> second. >> Um questions or comments? All those in favor? >> I >> opposed. Motion carries. I need a motion to approve the reassignment of Gilbert Travis from a part-time cleaner to a part-time building maintenance mechanic at a rate of $20.82 cents per hour per the CSEA agreement.

>> So second >> uh questions or comments? All those in favor? >> I >> opposed. Motion carries. I'm going to forget it each time. Um, I need a motion to adjust the rate of Harrison Reed's appointment from $150 per day to $170 per day per as substitute for pupil personnel department effective March 12th, 2026. Mr. Reid has his initial certification in ELA 7 through 12 >> 175. >> Second. >> Um, questions or comments? All those in favor? I >> opposed. 014the contract for health and welfare services between South Colony uh, Central School District and Stillwater Central School District for the purpose of providing services for children residing in the district designated as a party of the second part and attending non-public schools in the South Coline Central School District for services to begin on September 4th, 2025th and end June 26, 2026 in the amount of $94251. 1 cents which is the cost per pupil for approximately two children. I don't need to read the following services provided. Okay. >> Second >> questions or comments? All those in favor? >> I >> opposed. Motion carries. I need a motion to a second read on the following policies. Policy number 7223 for advanced coursework. Um and then the policy of number 7224 virtual instruction both had a first read done

on February 25th, 2026. >> So second >> questions or comments? All those in favor? Opposed? >> I motion carries. Motion to approve the schedule B stipen for Kelsey McMullen of $1600 for Future Farmers of America effective for the second semester of the 2025 2026 school year. >> Um second >> questions or comments? Um all those in favor >> I >> opposed. Motion carries. Okay, now we are up to committee reports. um policy committee. >> All right. So, we met last week uh to try to get the rest of that audit finished. I think um we finished going around the table with most of them. We put up a bunch over the past couple weeks to kind of get those done. Um we have the last few remaining that we're looking at different customizations for and

remaining information for. So when we were running along on those and so we can look forward to maybe at the maybe not next meeting but maybe meeting after we might actually have some finishing to do. So thank you for everybody for your input. >> Great. Okay. Um and then we also have a finance committee report out which I can give some updates for that. I shared out the minutes earlier today. Hopefully everybody received those. Um some highlights of the meeting was we discussed the um potential tax levy increase uh the calculated limit um and we discussed where we would kind of want that to land. Um we haven't decided on that yet so everybody can feel free to attend next meeting. Um, we looked at a historical state aid review and discussed that as a

committee and as you can all guess the state aid numbers have dropped um since 2022. I think we have that number. Um Mike also talked to us about um a potential revenue generator um regarding Waterford Half Moon uh Union Free School District um us taking over the contract for their um bus maintenance, right? Which it sounds that our transportation department would be able to handle that. Um, we talked to kind of >> 30 passengers. >> Yeah, >> I read that. >> Um, so it looks like we'll be able to take that on as potential revenue. Um, it's small, but it's something. >> Um, we also spent probably the most time discussing the 2026 2027 budget and where it currently stands. Um we discussed kind of what we're able to move around um and you know

how things would look if we say removed the outlay project um for at least one year. Um so again this is potential uh nothing was set in stone. Um and then on the revenue side again we discussed um taking on some special education students. Um, I believe that was emailed out to some potential districts. Um, and at the time we hadn't received any inquiries or replies back from it, but um, we're hoping that we can get some revenue from that as well. >> Yes, >> we have. Well, that's wonderful. Um Mike and the administrators and Joe have had conversations about, you know, the hard year that's going to be, you know, next year. Um so I think they continue to have those conversations. Um and as we move forward, we'll we'll discuss what needs to

be done. Um and then we talked about the deficit and how it looks like we're running at a 1.2. I want to make sure I'm understanding correctly. 1.2 million deficit um estimated for for next year right now. So, we'll keep a close eye on that, but hopefully some of these revenue options will lower that number. Um and then the next meeting we're looking to uh take the hour before our March 25th board meeting. So, hope anybody wants to attend. Um, are there any board items of interest? >> I just wanted to again on top of what Joe said, uh, congratulate all the athletes, the basketball teams, the individual athletes, track and field, um, wrestling, and, uh, >> cheerleaders did pretty well. >> Cheerleaders. >> Congratulations everybody. You know, it's well done. uh hard fought losses

in basketball this weekend and uh you know kudos to those kids for the effort. >> Any other boarding interest? >> Yes, >> I just wanted to uh thank the teachers again and wish them well in their retirement for their long dedicated service to our school community outstanding to be around that long. So thank you those teachers. Uh, also I wanted to know if we have a code check for modified post. So, we're still working towards that. >> Yeah, Mr. Kenny had some very good news over the last couple of days. Um, there is a community member who was a previous teacher here. So, all the coaching stuff is kind of taken care of in that. Um, so yes, we had a parent night on Monday uh for for spring sports. I believe 20 young ladies

and a parent at least one parent showed up. Two were unable to make it and had a prior obligation for so I think there's 22 or 23 that are very interested right now >> excellent >> thank you thank you for um last thing that I have if I remember oh that our lacrosse team the whole that other town but cannot be mentioned um are we still have no uh lacrosse team this year rumors around town we're not No, they're they've been >> spring sport started this week. >> They're together. >> Lovely. Rumors. I just wanted >> rumors of the team's demise. Exactly. >> I just thought this rumor mill is just, you know, it's social media nonsense. It's just ridiculous. So, thank you. Appreciate it. >> I have one thing. Um, petitions to run for

board of education will be available in my office on March 20th if anybody is interested or knows of anyone that would like to run for board of education. We have three open seats um for this coming year. And then we'll be due back to my office on uh April 29th. >> Can can those people request those from you via email as well? Yep. >> Okay. Right. Thank you. Is there any input, public input on non-aggenda items? Would anyone like to speak? Look like it. Okay. Um, then I need a motion to adjourn to executive dis uh session to discuss a personnel matter. So move. We have questions or comments on it. All those in favor? the post.
