i'm sorry um you all stand for pledge to the plan which is behind zoo i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all thank you okay we have papering it right now um [Music] presentation um [Music] so we have a presentation okay i'm just trying to share [Music] it's not letting it's not letting me share the presentation it should now go ahead and try again okay oh there okay so this year we came in and did the audit and um we had a few changes this year but everything worked out fine um so the external audit we're looking at your financials um there's a couple parts of the financial the first part is
our opinion which um we're trying to tell what tell the presentation if it's a fair presentation if somebody was to look at the financials would they be misled um then you have your md a which management has done for you and make sure you look at that because there's a lot of comparisons they've done um and then there's the financial statements themselves so the first part of the financials is where there is the long-term debt is put in and then the next part is the fund financials and then of course the notes and then there's schedules in the back we're looking at to make sure that your internal controls we can rely on those we interview with them we go and test them um and we also can make sure that you're complying with laws
and regulations we look to make sure you're doing the proper bidding making sure that you're following the laws that generally miss for law and state ed laws um we if you you needed a single audit we would look at that but you don't have federal funds over 750 000 so we didn't have to do that this year and then like i said we give an opinion on the financials um this year the covet didn't really affect us doing the audit that much because you're pretty much back in the swing of things in some ways it might even make it easier because a lot of the things are online and can be sent to us so we didn't have to go there as much the prior year you did have 20 taken out of the state
aid you did receive that money and then that gets paid out to the districts but this year there were no withholdings like that and a lot you know the districts they had to worry about the coveted uh federal aid and that caused a lot of them to have single audits but since they get that you don't so um we didn't have to worry about that the big change this year in the financial statements is gatsby 84. um you've had we had to implement this and what it's doing is trying to determine the things that are in trust and agency whether you have a physical control over the assets or if the administration control over the assets and if there is if you do have that then it has to now be in uh governmental funds
so with you now you have a miscellaneous special revenue fund and the extra classroom funds those are now in your um in the special revenue fund and we also report those in the back you can see they're still enough financial and the scholarships the extra classroom it's your policies that you're being followed and your staff is taking care of the money and making sure that the bank recks are being done and the same with the scholarships you help determine who gets the scholarships and you oversee it so that has to go into governmental fund the payroll liabilities now they have to be follow where the money is going through so that was put into the general fund so it'd be things like that were due to the irs due to trs that all goes into
general um you also have the workers comp trust that stays in the fiduciary fund it's a private purpose trust because it is an actual trust that's where it has to stay um if we look at the general fund you can see the total expenditures and revenues they've been pretty consistent there's no big spikes you have you know it's been if you go along from 2017 to 2021 they haven't really they've been pretty even which is good um this next schedule is your revenues over expenditures for the last several years you can see in 2019 it was a little bit higher but um it's been consistent like and which shows exactly the other one um you're keeping within your budget as much as you can you as a boces it's very hard because you never know
what's going to happen during the year um you might have more people in a program than you expected you might have less people so it's very hard it's it's a you're constantly moving uh moving targets so this next um schedule this shows this the same thing that's really the return to surplus so you can see that it has been pretty consistent um the percentage has been from 13 11 up to 15 it was down to 14 but your billings you can see that really went down this last year and that was due to covid um you had a lot less students in some of the programs the schools you know just it depended what they were um that what they might have signed up for they may not have been able to do um okay
so special aid i mentioned about the federal aid through the years the last 10 years you have dropped significantly how much aid that you've gotten and you can still see it's still going down that's just based on the grants that you had you just have a lot more federal funds than you do now um that just depends on what programs you're running and um so it just so you can kind of see um without as much aid it's harder to run some of the programs so you've had to finance those other ways so just so you can see um general fund it increased a hundred thousand over the year which is basically in your reserves um we did have to restate fund balance because of gas v84 um actually asp84 didn't have to reclass that
just got moved over to the special revenue but the state had you they went over the sa-111 how they wanted all the boces to report things so they made some changes and they decided that the you could not have a fund balance in a general fund so the one thing that had to be moved over was a special aid fund that had to go over to um i mean was what you had for the special aid these um 516 went over to especially from the general fund and then you also had to move the cte equipment reserve into the capital fund they want that all together because that's eventually where it's going to be used so 416 000 moved over there so um after that was restated your reserves went up 149 000 and you're
no longer having conferences you're not allowed to have encumbrances so that went down about 49 000. so that's where you got the hundred thousand the next chart shows where you put in 100 000 into the employee benefit liability your you expended about 45 000 and that is for it can only be spent for retirees and you put in 75 000 into the trs retirement fund and the liability reserve edition you put in 15 000 and you earned about 4 000 in interest which is much less than previous years but we all know the interest rates have gone down so um your surplus due to schools at the end of the year was 9.2 million 7.2 is attributable to the current year surplus which if you look in the mda um it mentions that you have
you're giving a surplus you're giving a refund back to the districts the two million of that is that old retiree health insurance accrual that we're carrying their um all the districts decided that that's how they wanted it to be handled years ago the general fund revenues are down 4.1 million of 17 million which is about 7.7 from last year and the expenditures are down almost nine um hundred thousand which is about seven point six nine percent and your return to surplus was down two hundred thirty six thousand which is about five hundred percent of um last year's number um okay so your school lunch the fun balance did decrease and part of that is you didn't have the students there for the full year and it's hard because as a small operation you don't have
the volume to make up the difference so no matter how much volume you have you still have fixed costs so at the end of the year your total fund balance was 143 000 and 9 000 of that is inventory so that is considered non-spendable so your assigned fund balance what's available is 134 000 at the end of the year and that represents about 59 percent of expenditures state ed would say that 30 is reasonable but um if you think about 134 000 anything could happen that's not really a lot of money like i said you're you're smaller um you don't have a lot of students so if something did happen it's good to have the extra funds the percentage doesn't always mean it's bad it's good to have a little extra funds there your capital
projects you had expenditures of 53 000 an east wing roof project and 5 000 in building improvements some of the old projects were closed last year and you transferred in 669 000 from the general for new projects the cte equipment reserve like i said that got moved into there so at the end you have 3.2 3 million in fund balance that can be used towards future projects which you have plans for um as a boces you have coasters so we do a special testing and sampling of those we want to make sure that the proper expenses of the coasters and across billings with the other boces um that they agree that there's invoices that it was billed correctly to all the districts we look at the monthly bill and make sure that it looks reasonable
we test several different um transactions during the year and the billings the bills that you receive and the bills that you send to the other districts we look to see if there's adjustments to coasters that it's it's given to each district accordingly because um with the coasters a district may say they might need six um students have services but at the end they might have only needed nine i mean they might even need to have nine um so that's gotta be adjusted for all the district you know each district so we look to make sure that that was done and it was uh reasonable the way the allocation was um we look at the original bills and then based on a prior cost too the extra classroom activities like i said that had to be
moved into your governmental funds so that is part of your regular financial statements now um it used to be just in the trust and agency but now it's actually you're showing the revenue and expenditure um there was limited activity this year because of covid the district has internal controls over the receipts and the expenditures and the total cash balances receives and expenditures are really not material to the financial statements but they do get included um your management letter you had no major issues any minor issues were discussed verbally um with management and the audit committee there were no written comments this year in the management letter you're receiving an unmodified opinion on the financial statements and that is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles it's the best opinion that you can receive we did
not see any major problems so it's a clean opinion does anybody have any questions i kind of went through that quickly thank you very much does anyone here want to ask anything sue you did a great job thanks thank you thanks susan thank you very much okay so and uh thank you now my team okay well so i'll give you your certificates but most importantly you have a number of items that prepare for you for our students um those of you fortunate have four letter or five letter class names um might have gotten your entire name on there otherwise you've got an initial one uh independent this is a new um tool that we just bought for our welding program our teacher nick and his kids are excited about using it so that was one
of the new things that they did for board member recognition each of you up here has an event from our buildings trades program they're all the certificates are a piece of paper but it's the sentiment behind them and the other gifts that the kids have made for you they were made with love by the children who serve to thank you all for what you do and um school administrators are hidden in offices and people don't fully understand what it is we do they'll never understand what a board does because the boards are often not seen they meet in the evening when everyone else is home they devote their time to make sure our kids have and that's the most important thing everything that you do everything that we do is for the kids we couldn't
do our jobs if it wasn't for your continued support on a daily basis from the bottom of our hearts and more importantly from the bottom of our students they made these gifts for you with pride i believe they tried to uh let me let me tell you a few things about the gifts most of you innovative design projects came from the kids from your districts um specifically so one that i have to be special known on with the star of the innovative design class is mikey frank who is jennifer's son and his teacher could not say enough good things about him he is an architect in the making and we want you to know that that particular picture is an evolution of him saying i can't draw to him getting a project in an outside
real life architectural activity and he wants you to know that that's his show's talking it would be funny you know what he's done he went from just drawing a box to drawing uh character um but more importantly when he got onto the computer the teacher said that he just blossomed so amazing stories behind these gifts that they need i will tell you i was in here earlier and gene had put these out and he came in here i had you could just see the joy yeah he loves what he does and with the little bags these are the beginnings of the innovative design eventual cartoon characters that they're going to be making in may i've invited them to come back and show it and the kids to come back and show you these characters on
the computer and this was the eight plus project of the class and she's going to be designing that in the computer to make a 3d walking functioning version of each of these characters so might we kid for you but in many cases they're specifically from the kid from your district and they put their own little labels on for you and spicy spaces and all that kind of stuff so this is a dream person who controls and works with the teachers to make sure yeah these are some of my favorites these are from my daughter-in-law's class yes and going to do is on main campus i now keep an office and the office is kind of naked so all of this is going back to the office so that's when the kids come by they can
see yeah they wanted to make sure [Music] i'm going to hang [Music] and it's magnificent yeah it did a great job yeah it really is so but they do this for you they say thank you they hope you uh appreciate it and most importantly we all thank you thank you [Music] we are now moving into um public comments you're the whole puppet [Music] comment i have no comments [Music] um consent agenda okay the consent agenda has a variety of things in it and i'm not going to sit there and read them but there are two three four five six seven i think seven things anything that gives you the seat six is part of the consent agenda so i need a motion thank you carol thank you tony all those in favor of adopting the
consent agenda please raise your hands so i can see them um did i get everybody's hand though now i did excellent unanimous spencer okay moving on to item number 701 the claims audit report informational online if you run it on your computer you could see more than reading it on here that's true okay it's informational so if anybody has any questions that they remember from reading it okay normally we have our computers but tonight gene was overwhelmed with stuff okay item 7.02 treasures report july action items so i need a motion please linda thank you um cindy thank you okay any questions on the financial matters the treasurer's report okay then i'd like to call for a vote all those in favor please raise your hand again unanimous thank you gene 7.03 approval of established
approval to establish a prop a property loss reserve fund and two is an action item so if i might have a motion from someone anthony and kathy thank you now this is an action item so do you have any questions about it any comments on it we never had this before and one [Music] plan and we outlined all of the resources we had the rationale for them we recently created the liability preserve which city talked about in the audit presentation and we needed that so we could move the workers comp money over there because they've gotta be 84. um and this property reserve is something um when we completed the reserve plan that uh previously we didn't realize that the business was eligible for because we know that we're eligible for some and not others
so if we had a major property loss um we would be able to use this fund to offset any deductibles or uh repairs that the vote would be so we think it's proven to start this just in case we have a property loss or a deductible that we need to cover okay and it was it was all outlined in them and that's in addition to any insurance coverage correct this would be stuff that would not be covered by insurance or something that the policies would be viable for under our terms all right any other questions though okay and then let's take a vote well there's a favorite please take show of hands again unanimous thank you okay acceptance of the 2020-2021 external order and corrective action plan that we just all listened to i need
a motion thank you linda thank you questions connors okay let's think about all those in favor of accepting the external audit please by showing unanimous again thank you for your question this is the this is the first year of a five-year rfi okay approval to re-establish the unemployment reserve fund it's an action item so i need a motion kathy thank you anthony thank you okay discussion questions we've got the people here everybody's nobody has any comments or questions then i'd like to call for a vote my show of hands all those favor again you know we are unanimous tonight moving on to personnel matters 8.01 personal matters is an action item if you would look at the second page of the personnel the matter one um robert leon on the top of the next page
you don't have one of these i'm sorry [Music] um we have to change the tenure date it was misprinted it's 2025 not 2022. okay everybody's clear on that matter it's on the next page okay we're going to take them as a single unit it's an action item so carol are you making a motion yes i'll make questions and then we can talk about it after we have a motion on the floor thank you thank you sue um okay dance the conversation okay it just seemed to me that there were a lot of resignations uh i was just curious if there was any particular common reason why or what's going on a lot of losing accidents as well so many people took another position um [Music] left for another position uh one more family member and
one [Music] like every other school district in the academy like every other business you're nodding so you know exactly what i'm going to say um nobody's coming in the door and many people are going out um everyone thought when the supplemental federal unemployment insurance expired people would flood back into the job market that did not happen um there are a myriad of reasons many many people are just not returning to the workforce through december of this year there is a uh child care tax credit where families are getting three hundred dollars per child in a check sent to them each month okay so that fair is causing people not to return to work they there's no concern about putting food on the pit it's endemic it's across all employers um i had a meeting with
the superintendent by assuming last week to a letter from cafeteria workers to certified teachers we're all having the same problem we have a meeting with theresa today and uh we discussed that uh at like with teresa um if you look at the democrat um several of our school districts monticello has eight or nine certificated openings for fully certified teachers that they cannot go it's a problem and it's only getting worse that goes to the email i sent you two weeks ago where i had to collapse two classes and put a freeze on accepting new students into some programs because we do not have the step to meet the ratios and right now we're focusing on hiring our way out of the problem but at the rate we're going for every four we hire we lose
it so we're going to be behind the april so this freeze could be in effect for quite some time and the districts are aware of it we can't accept any student with a one to one eight because we don't have anyone to serve as the one to one eight we're telling districts if you have a kid and we have an opening and then you don't want one eight you need to send the one to one aid with the job the person on the bus bust them up here we'll supervise them for the day and bust them home it's very problematic um jen do you want to talk a little bit to what we're doing sure so we are actively recruiting um there's let's say we go to applications we go to indeed we've been sponsoring
some ads um on indeed that um newport we're actually sponsoring to go statewide and into new york city i know it sounds crazy um we get a lot of applicants that just push a button and i provide for job and i go oh i don't realize themselves i'm counting but we have had two hires one of them was our school lunch manager that we fired um at last board meeting uh he saw our ad on d so it does work um there's a lot of feeding through applications uh we have them printed out on a daily basis from someone here in this office they get sent the prospective principles for the director um to lead them out i know that i spoke to mrs becker today um she said about 50 of the interviews that
she sets up did not show up and these are just done these are zoom interviews these are not even in the first one 50 percent are meant to be shown so um challenge um we're doing the best we can do you want to comment on this from the private sector you're experiencing exactly the same thing i was at the chamber board of directors meeting this morning everybody at the table is having issues yeah sue i was just wondering on this in the schools um there was a time i don't remember when a long time ago and for subsidies they were lowering you didn't have to have a certification to substitute going for like short-term substitutes [Music] does it mean anything like that doesn't matter [Music] we don't have a single sub to call the minute
fire assume they wind up covering all right i mean usually this time of year we have our most of our positions filled for aids um occasionally we're not normally a couple more teachers knock on wood we're pretty good with that we do need some behavior but right now we're usually looking to fill this up there is no problem we need um from collapsing into classes that we did we need four aids and might suffer another two and three in our fees and when we're back for full potassium 11 to 12 just increased their daily submarine for a certified teacher i think to 180 a day and it's not us it's everyone the districts wanted us to start a subcoaster [Music] i said well we don't want your money so you can pass your problem on
to us susan and i told them what makes you think we can do what you can you're paying your people more money than we do and you can't feel yourself good okay any further how much of this is because of vaccinations [Music] don't want to do that [Music] all those in favor please raise your hand you were voting on the personnel right now administrative reports so the only thing i want to touch on is as you know a few days before school opened actually the friday before labor day weekend our governor indicated that the new york state department of health would issue a testing mandate for public schools um it was a three-page document and that was pretty much all we got from the state of new york and it was effective immediately enforcement i
think the fines are up to a thousand dollars a day for non-compliance or something thousand dollars a day a thousand dollars a week but the enforcement agent is the local public health department our local public health department had been charged in may when they received 2.4 million dollars from the cdc through the state institute testing protocols for schools which they had not yet done because they had nothing in place to help the schools i was able to get a commitment from the director of public health that she would not take any enforcement action against any district who was consciously working towards the goal of meeting amendment so we've been working diligently over the past six weeks and i want to recognize gene melinda christensen and mary swift and hillary we're not going to factor in
my time but on average the three of them have spent 25 to 40 hours a week amongst the three of them working through the administrative but administrative administrative to make this happen we are in a position now where we're going to start testing this week and we will be testing every week thereafter gene and melinda will be coordinating the testing on all three of our campuses we have about 350 employees when we started this we had about 189 that had either not provided proof of vaccination or had indicated one way or the other whether they would consent to be tested and if anyone thinks this is a testing mandate you're wrong this was a backdoor vaccine mandate but they didn't want to do that so they basically used the administrations in the 700 school districts
and 37 houses around the state to meet people into making a choice and i shared all of this with teresa line is our staff has been very cooperative and teresa i want to thank you in the union leadership because you folks were instrumental in moving this along as of monday all of our employees are compliant either they have provided proof of vaccination or consented to testing we have 66 that need to be tested and that does include some consultants and iterate workers that may not need to be tested on a weekly basis um melinda jean and i work on monday to lay out the testing schedule and uh we will be implementing it this week and we'll be doing that going forward unless who's doing this it's self-administered oh so the way it works this
is pool testing so gene melinda we went we had about what 15 people trained all senior management all of the principles all the particles right and the way it works is there's a sheet on a table with instructions you walk in they take they have two tubes they have a large tube and a small tube they put a label and your name on the small tube and they scan it into the computer you're given two swaps and you're instructed to take one slot and do it ten times in one nostril legend ten times in an x-masculine put in a little two cap it and you hand it to the club you then take the second swap ten times ten times and then you put it in a bigger pool too the pull tube has all
of the samples from that pool and it's up to 24 samples in each pool it's shipped off to the lab and they test the pull tool first and if there's no cover in the pull tube then they move on to the next pool no but if the pool shows a positive then they test all of the individual samples in the pool to identify who or whom is positive so let's see if it saves let's say something okay how long does this take see this is coming from a a medical person this is not going to make sense it's a three to four day turnaround this is a testing mandate not a results mandate that's it that's what you have to remember it's a testing mandate it says nothing in the three pages about when results
are good and when did you get the results you know that you have uh three to four minutes at the same time this person gets the result the person and the employer gets them at the same time so they should be in the classroom for three days i guess the ultimate premise is once you start the testing cycle you're getting that information on about the same day but this was supposed to start immediately aldrin is testing we're starting the test this week fallsberg may start testing this week roscoe and manor are testing next week try valley is next week and sullivan west and liberty are hoping for the first week okay so the lab reports it to the state and then the state context uh dancing abroad and then she's so busy it will take
her two weeks to catch the person actually we're going to report it also to nancy so the other question is the article in yesterday's was it yesterday's time tower record that there is a shortage of testing there's a shortage of the binex cards which is a different type of test finance cards require you to have an lsl which is a limited lab license and it also requires you to analyze the results on your site which is taking the level of responsibility in our nurses that this does not require the nurses our nurses are trained today to back us up our nurses are busy with kids right theresa our nurses are busy with the kids we're sending home 20 or more kids all week with coverage because they're being tested too or not symptoms and we're
sending them with their parents to go and get tested our nurses are too busy this casa was the least invasive and once we did all of the back work and according to what eldrid told us it kind of goes like clockwork once you get into the rhythm it only takes moments yeah and they know what to do after the first yeah after the first couple of times but you know what we're noticing since september 8th and now a lot of people got vaccinated what is this costing us nothing the money is the money is funded by health and human services state and federal level one of our districts is working with a company that goes through their private insurance and if the private insurance is not paid it's a hundred dollars [Music] that's why europe
is testing europe has a proven test you can go to your local drug store and buy a pack of home tests to test yourself every day united states has approved it we're waiting we're waiting for it once the fda approves it we'll accept it too and our staff is given a choice provide vaccination use the testing service we arrange or they could go out on their own and you know if there was a cost over above what their insurance would cover they can get tested on their own but they have to do that every week and they have to present that negative result to us every week and they're coming to you right now they're all on board and doing it and a lot of the people um have one shot so within two or
three weeks they won't need to be tested so some people went out and got tested and as soon as their regime is done they'll come up with us and we believe that ultimately our biggest fear and our local one of our local officials uh senator martucci shared with me that it is a distinct possibility our biggest fear is that after all of this work the state will pull the rug out from under us and decide to go in a different direction because the problem right now is we're testing the adults and ultimately have to offer it to the children most of the parents were not consent to have their children tested percent of the covered cases we're dealing with now are amongst our children not our adults and if our adults are getting it they're
getting it from children so the issue that we have is we should have been doing this last year when it was our adults who were getting sick and not the children you know don't answer i'm moving us right along here so we are on item number 10 which is policy review and the first one is 10.01 diversity equity and inclusion first reading and discussion okay so we don't have the actual reading here of it it was online no no we are peter this is actually so we are going to move along on this one because you'll have to look at it yourself the second one is 11.01 oath of office to the district superintendent and re-affirmation of contract amendment this is an action item i need a motion thank you carol and carol um follow
oh discussion now all right folks this is again something we should have read no this is the oath of office yeah [Music] that i will support the constitution of the united states and the constitution for the constitution of the state of new york the constitution of the state of new york and that i will faithfully discharge [Music] i don't think there's anything to discuss at this point too great i agree somewhere i'll make carol and i have to say this isn't the same duties okay they're voting to extend his contract for one more year right i knew that i'm glad i knew that bob all right raise your hands come on you're good and sue is missing good timing is great sorry about that discussion item number 11.02 [Music] um we raised this we've asked
um to try and get we i mean tony and i have kind of been working on some things including evaluation and one of the things that seems to be interest is getting some committees going so that we're not doing everything in mass here sitting at the table and people could get a little work of something that they're interested in one of the committees yeah facilities one of the minis um this has been ken's ken's baby so i'm going to speak to it for a minute um is facilities and rightfully so we need to discuss the facilities the needs of our facilities we have to find these things out um [Music] please we have a policy committee already which is caroline ken from tony we'll probably create at least one or two other committees after this
so i'm recommending you keep committing membership to three members should they be and preferably not the same three members that are on every other committee so that for example facilities is going to work very closely with susan because that's the operational side of that policy works very closely with genome when new policies come in we sit down we discuss it we accept to reject it we bring it back to the board depending on what that committee does will depend on which member of management would be assigned and you know susan may be in the policy i may be in with facilities but one of us will be working with each committee so i would be looking the three members of their facilities today for anybody who feels they have some knowledge of facilities or hello
okay would you consider being on it okay also anyone else no i've got three do you want facilities too okay so i'm gonna i've got sue linda carol and anthony are all interested in [Music] oh what did he say to me i don't know but it wasn't [Music] about the facility on the monticello board and a couple of us have done uh board service at the local level we were required to inspect our buildings as a board and we would go in we would have a sheet and we would go in and walk around across the staff oh you know there's gonna drip up there for 10 years and you know that kind of thing but you hear from the staff and that's what that was the um thing and we were assigned because we
had so many buildings we were all assigned to fulfillment it was a it was a state mandate is that something that both is required and i don't know we haven't been doing it and that's part of why ken brought this up to establish the facilities okay so they do the value we do the five year plan but we don't involve the board in the water so we're trying to get back to that um board members walking through and talking to staff is probably not something usually the walkthroughs have done either before or after school with the facilities manager which would be jesse and his staff and the individual building stuff and the good news is we're gonna have one building well one two three buildings on one campus to worry about four buildings don't get
me wrong and nothing depends like you might go into classroom there might be it but if we saw a drip two years ago and the thrift was recorded and it still so um i am going to appoint you head of the facilities committee thanks well the head of the facilities committee means you have to get the committee together you don't really have to do it our policy committee we will kind of literally bring that together we don't have a headache we don't have a headache well we do for wait a minute wait a minute you want another committee carol darby no i'm talking about cal park is the head of the facilities no yes [Music] and all you have to do is call the meeting together work it out with susan [Music] you'll be no
whining [Music] all right so moving right along on the last side of the last page nope i want to put in the action discussion item the approval of the reimbursement funds oh i'm so sorry carolyn you've got [Music] the board of education approves the one-time exception and reimbursing expenses for the classroom supplies from the prior school year 2020 to 2021 in the amount of 580 to the employee number zero two zero nine nine i need a second thank you sue please raise your hand it is unanimous thank you very much thank you jesus and thank you susan for helping us with that excuse me that together and now serious response [Music] the students um staff for all these wonderful greetings carol i just would like to reiterate that i i'm grateful for their their thanks
and appreciation and i certainly um thank them that yeah yes um i agree i mean all the goodies are just wonderful and um i think that um as much praise as susan [Music] sometimes it's hard for people and employees understand all the rules because they are not as exposed to osc and internal and external audit controls as we are because we live and read them every day but we appreciate their compliance and we really do have a good administrative team and an excellent business office team and um vicki and i are not being good i don't know whether we would left that we are fully staffed um [Music] and cross-training people and just getting our day-to-day operations done now that we are fully staff in the business office and the central business yesterday was the
daniel meeting yes and it started at four at about ten to seven i had to go up because i had technology issues i think they were having technology issues we got through most of the resolutions um which i got a summary of and i would send it to everybody and then the resolutions are exactly that there are proposals to bring to the legislative floor um but there's a lot of issues one of the things about being virtual is there were not a lot of discussion but interestingly i would i thought some of the stuff would be more on vaccines and stuff like that it was virtual meetings were a hot topic um and it was there i just wanted to bring this up because i thought it was really interesting it was proposed by a
long island school and i believe in the end it passed and it was to continue to allow now this is a wish don't get me wrong to continue to allow virtual because i know in monticello they told me they have like 90 people showing up on their zoom for meetings not they've never had that in a public meeting so they feel that they're reaching more people but they did point out in the downstate schools where their populated they're getting a lot of controversy and a lot of people walking into meetings and disrupting meetings and seeing things activities so that was i think what started it but but the interesting thing was the upstate school especially the adirondacks we want to get back into the meeting room and we can't zoom because we don't have to
check that out so that was an interesting discussion but then that only means it's going to go to the state we need to make a recommendation so what's happening is we may be seeing more of the hybrid zoom type things because that was just one takeaway there was a lot more winter [Music] i know it might be his equipment but i'm just wondering are we doing cutting edge are we doing the best we can do here i think so there's stuff in this room that's coming out if they're if those usually okay can somebody go see what they're talking about it's [Music] um it's still connectivity issues there and um okay so he's probably gonna have to do something he doesn't want to do but i think he's gonna need a set of external speakers
yeah [Music] audio alone it may not be enough but if he has a headset on he will hear him clear it and he will trust him so let's look at that we'll see how to do that [Music] you know if i'm sitting at my conference there we haven't been in my office but i've got to set up similar to this in my office the sound quality on that cell is phenomenal and you've been in there and we've done meetings but when i'm on my laptop i find myself leaning into it because it only can go so much okay thank you so much [Music] and people started commenting that when we are on zoom that certain offices have more background noise than others and apparently mine is the worst [Music] so what's for dinner four generations
