Motion on the floor to enter into executive session to discuss the employment history of a particular person and to discuss the appointment of a particular person. Invited in is Mr. Parent, Mr. Stinos, and Mr. Wholesale. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> I >> Good evening everyone. Please rise for the pledge of allegiance. I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Got a packed house tonight. At this time, it is our public input on agenda and non-aggenda items. I welcome any members of the audience to speak at this time. Okay, Mr. Camel. >> Okay, thank you very much. Um, before we get started, the first thing we're going to do is the
retirees, but before I get to that, just want to honor a couple of our board members. Uh, I've said over and over again that we have the best school board that there is. uh people here are focused on students and and um what's best for our students uh prek through 12. But um NISBA, the New York State School Boards Association, they have a program designed to acknowledge schoolboard members who strive to continually expand their governance knowledge and skills. It's comprised of four achievement levels that are reached by accumulating points for participating in trainings, workshops, events, activities, and also taking on board related roles such as president or um vice president or something like that. So, tonight we have two different awards. Diana Hecman uh is receiving a board of excellence certificate recognition. Let me see
if I can find which one is that. >> Is that right in here, Teresa? There it is. I guess I should say it's a level two board excellence award. And then Matt Flowers, I feel like I give one to Matt every year. Matt is getting a level four lifetime achievement award and he gets a big plaque and a pen and uh whole bunch of stuff. Well done. >> Congratulations, guys. >> Okay. Um, so this is always a bittersweet night. Uh, we have two things. The last couple of years we've combined both where we honor our retirees and say thank you for all of your work that you've done and show some appreciation for that. Uh, and at the same time um award our tenure to our um younger teachers. Uh, younger is not right. Right.
Newer teachers. Sorry, Miss Wilson. Newer teachers. Um, so for the retirees, um, we have five of them here tonight. I'll go up in a minute and actually, um, hand them their awards, but, um, we have, uh, about 17 or so retirees this year. We have five here with us tonight. Almost 400 years of experience here in the Troy School District. Uh so I started by saying it's bittersweet because uh um I personally have relationships with these people. Uh been with them some of them since I was high school principal. Um wish them well. Want them to have a a long and great happy uh joyful retirement but at the same time we are going to really really miss the experience and the knowledge and the insights. Uh and um I can't say enough how much
we appreciate all that you've done for the students of Troy during your time here. Um all the love and support that you've given them. We have a small uh token of our appreciation tonight that I'll give you. Uh but the true appreciation is uh the hundreds and in some cases thousands of Troy students uh that you've impacted and positively uh touched their lives over the times that you were here. So we really really really appreciate it. You will be greatly missed and we do wish you uh all the best in the next stage of your lives. Uh so I'm going to go up there. Right Teresa? Mhm. >> No mic this time. But the first one is teaching assistant 19 years. Um I we go back like to parent days. She's not my parent, but
she's parent of uh super uh Troy High graduates. Two young ladies that I had the pleasure of being their principal. Uh Chris Cooney ANOTHER teaching assistant, Lorie Delaney. 35 YEARS FOR >> WOW. PE 30 YEARS. TONY FO English 26 years. Sarah Mitchell in parenthesis Mitchell. Congratulations. >> Thank you. >> Uh and last but not least, uh special education teacher Dana Santiago. AGAIN, thank you so much to all the retirees and uh we wish you well. Some are already subbing for us and we always uh so uh sign up with HR. >> Congratulations all. Okay, I'm moving on to our April financials. Mr. Denobo, >> the boring part. >> So, after reconciling the state aid, we're projecting a small surplus in the general fund at this time. Uh, the next couple weeks, we'll be sifting through
all the open purchase which ones to roll next year. Give us a more accurate picture of where we are will end up uh by the end of this fiscal year. Um, purchase orders for the new fiscal year uh can now be entered. Uh, an email will be sent out to the district uh soon to inform inform any requisitioners. Uh, the summer is a very busy time for the business office. Uh, believe it or not, everyone else is off, but we're still going. Uh, but we are in good shape. >> I'll be I'll be around too. >> Okay, good. That's good to know. Um, but we are in good shape um as we gear up for the fiscal year end. And that is all I have to report at this time. >> Thank you. Okay. Um
