Okay. Motion on the floor to enter into executive session to discuss contractual matters. >> Second. >> All those in favor? >> Opposed. Okay. >> We'll be back. Oh, Mr. Styles, Mr. Hotelling, >> Mr. Abasi, and Mr. Buril. >> Good evening, everyone. Please rise for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Hey, good evening everyone. So at this time [snorts] it is our public input on agenda and non-aggenda items. I welcome any members of the audience to speak at this time. Okay. Uh Mr. Carmemella for your superintendent update. >> Okay. Thank you. Uh just like to give a quick update on the wine and scale feasibility study.
Uh so we're moving along. Uh had a uh our fourth or fifth community forum last night which ended up being virtual which before it started I was a little nervous about but it ended up being great. Um we had 114 participants on there uh which probably one of our biggest uh community forums. So it was ended up being really really good. Uh we were able to I was able to brag a little bit or a lot of bit. [laughter] I felt like I talked a lot but I wanted to get it all in but ended up uh talking for an hour and a half or something. Um but we got talk about uh all the instructional programs, all the supports, all the great things that we have going on in all of our schools. Uh
so it was it was really really a great meeting. Got a lot of great feedback afterwards. Um the petition process is moving along. Um we had high school and middle school parent conferences and got uh almost 300 signed there. Uh we'll have the elementary conferences starting tomorrow. Thank you to the board members who volunteered to uh sit at tables for those. Uh there'll also be some staff at those same tables. Um and then um we'll be going to the PTA meetings in December and some of the holiday concerts to keep working on that petition. And we also have people out in the community um helping us with that as well. Uh I don't think there's going to be any trouble getting our number. Uh Wine and Skill is doing uh the same thing. And we
have some Wine and Skill uh people that work for us that are helping us in the Wine and Skill community as well. So the petition process goes through probably the holidays if necessary. Uh and then the next step will be the report. Well, we have meetings on the 17th here of December and the 18th in Winenskill. Uh kind of a recap and summary from our consultants as they begin to write their report. Uh and then that report will get written and filed uh sometime mid January to uh Dr. Cruz of Quest R3 Boseies uh and the commissioner New York State Education Department commissioner and then they have promised us about a three-week turnaround on uh you know approval or not there would be no uh I don't believe there'll be any reason not to approve
it but uh we'll get about three week turnaround and then the vote will be right now it's planned for March 31st. I don't think that's set in stone yet but that's a Tuesday. uh it gives Mary a little bit of time. If it does get voted down, she'll have to adjust her budget, right? So, she'll be creating and we will in some sense as well, but she'll certainly be creating two different budgets. One that uh will know that the future is bright and one that um will will have to deal with the fis the fiscal uh problems that she's facing now and know that that's looming right over the horizon. So, she'll have two different tax rates, two different uh things to be cut and all of that as she moves along. Um, so we
picked March 31st so that she'd have some time to then make some final decisions on her budget. Um, I think that's it. I probably should say um I think everybody knows but the Averil Park School District who's currently part of the high school choice of W and Skill sent out a statement on Monday night uh saying that they were removing themselves from that partnership if this vote goes through. So um nothing we can do about that. Uh we've moved on. There's a uh the new flyer um that will be approved tonight. Um thank you to the board. I think it was important. We talked about that at one of the community meetings that it's just a show of support of our school board. Uh so it's not just one person making these promises but but
a you know board resolution that says yes we support these things. So it's the same flyer that people have seen. Uh if you were on last night you know the school choice decision now has been made and I think we uh more than hit the mark with reasonable and uh practical and sustainable. Uh we allowed every single student at Garner Dickinson from kindergarten through 8th grade uh when the time comes for their high school choice, they will still have that choice. Now, like I just said, Ail Park is out, but they would still have the other choices that they currently have. Uh we think that's really above and beyond. Um but we we heard and we listened and got input from uh their community that that was something that was really important to them. So,
I think that makes for it's a longer transition than we might want, but it makes for a nice transition so people that are currently in that school get all the benefits of the merger and the $241 million and all the things that we can give them with that uh but also maintain that school choice. Uh so, this flyer is approved tonight um with the tax uh benefit and all the other things that are on it. So, thank you to the board for your support for that. Okay. Thank you. And are you doing a public hearing for the district safety plan? >> Yep. So now public hearing for the district safety plan. So the safety plan was approved already uh before the school year. Uh there's a change in I'll need my glasses for this one.
Uh change in New York State uh law. They have something called DESHA's law which is requiring a amendment to everybody's safety plan. It's really about uh AEDs and um uh cardiac emergency response plan, CERP. So, every district now in their safety plan has to have a cardiac emergency response plan. So, we had to update our safety plan with those things. It's about making sure that people are properly trained uh in how to respond to a cardiac situation. and it's about um making the sure the AEDs are all um labeled and maintained and all that kind of thing. So that's now required. So that's that's why we have to reapprove our safety plan. >> Okay. >> Thank you. Uh Mr. Denovo for the September and October financials. >> 630 grants are starting to roll on track
with this year's budgeted numbers. I just completed the payroll projections to start the budget process for the next fiscal year. Uh internal workers are scheduled to come on January 5th and 6th and we're in the process of pulling all the requested documents in preparation for their arrival next month. Uh we'll be working to get ours and 1099s filed with the feds and sent to the employees and vendors and all. Okay. Thank you. All right. Um motion on the floor for approval of minutes from November 19th, 2025. Second >> discussion. All those in favor? >> Opposed? We will have our next one on December 17th where we will have a principal presentation um for school 18 and then our first one of the year will be January 7th. Our future feasibility community meetings will occur after our December 17th
board meeting um here at the middle school and then the next one will be the following day at the wine after the wine and skills board of education meeting about 7 o'clock under Troy Triumphs Carol Hill fifth graders will receive personalized pre-acceptance letters from Russell Sage College President Matt Chevel at an event Friday morning. The letters encourage students to continue working hard so they are ready to apply to college when the time comes. The letters come after our Troy students visited the Russell Sage campus in October for a tour and other activities to help the young scholars see themselves as college students in the future. That is awesome. Um, also at Car Hill, students will each have the opportunity to choose a brand new winter coat thanks to a donation from Operation Warm. Families can
choose a coat at the upcoming student le conferences later this week. Our Troy High School select choir students will perform at Radio City Music Hall on December 9th. The performance is part of the Sounds of Music program which provides student musical groups a chance to sing on the great stage prior to the world famous Christmas spectacular and eight varsity stu eight varsity teams were named scholar athlete teams for the fall 2025 season. Congratulations to our girls soccer, girls swimming, girls volleyball, girls tennis, golf, boys and girls cross country and cheerleading. So I think the girls took the lead there. And Troy quarterback Cair Carr was named the Class A football offensive player of the year with 13 uh 170 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, 1,087 rushing yards, and 12 rushing touchdowns. >> Very cool. >>
Yep. Six Troy players were named to the Class A first team offense, five on the first team defense, and two players each on the second team offense and defense. Congratulations. You're already working towards next year, coach. >> Yeah, great shot. >> Already started. >> There you go. >> All right. Um, anyone have anything? Okay. Motion on the floor to adjourn the meeting. >> You should start calling our audience me. >> I know. In the new year. In the new year. [laughter] They're like, "No, you don't got to do that." >> Uh, motion on the floor to adjourn the meeting. >> Second. Okay. All those >> in favor? That was >> Thank you everybody. >> Thank you.
