Okay. You need a second? Second. I
make a motion to amend S143 so as to read in the second be it resolved paragraph. The amended language will be as follows, that the board hereby authorizes the superintendent of schools to execute the agreement on behalf of the district in a form approved by legal counsel and to take all necessary and appropriate actions to implement the agreement. Okay. Any discussion? Hearing none, all in favor? Opposed? You need a second on the motion to amend. I did second it. I seconded it. You seconded it? Yeah. And Braden, you're going to give that to the purpose? Yeah, I'll give it to him. Okay. Now I need a motion to adopt S-144. Move it. Second. We amended it. Oh, you amended it. Now we need to. Okay. I need a motion to adopt S-143. Move it. Second.
All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Carried. Okay. Now S-144. I need a motion to consider it. Move it. Second. Okay. I make a motion to amend S.144 so as to read the second be it resolved paragraph will now state that the board hereby authorizes the superintendent of schools to execute the agreement on behalf of the district in a form approved by legal counsel and to take all necessary and appropriate actions to implement the agreement. Okay. I need a second. All in favor to do the amendment? Aye. Opposed? Motion carries. Nottingham motion to adopt S 144 with the amendment all in favor motion carries S-145, we need a motion. Move that. Second. Okay. Make a motion to amend S-145, so that the second be it resolved paragraph will now read that the board hereby authorizes the superintendent
of schools to execute the agreement on behalf of the district in a form approved by legal counsel and to take all necessary and appropriate actions to implement the agreement. Okay, I need a motion to adopt that. No, he actually made that motion. He's second. Second. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Motion to adopt S-145 with the amendment. Second. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Carries. 24. Okay, I need a motion. And that was page 24, right? I'll make a motion to consider page 24, third from the top. Yes. Third one down. Third one down. Need a motion? Second. Okay. I make a motion to amend. 24, third one down. So the subject line reads resignation, school monitor, security. Okay, I need a second. Second. All in favor? Aye. Okay, now I need a motion to adopt that
particular section. I'm trying. With the amendment? Second. Okay, all in favor? Aye. Opposed? Carries. All right, we got through that. Reports of special committees. I attended BOCES. It looks like there's about a 4% increase this year. And is it the ARWADA? I think that's what it's called. Looks like it's going to be about 4% for most. So I'm just letting you know there. Braden, anything on the BOCES executive board? No, I was really looking forward to the Regent Mannion Q&A, and then it got snowed out and rescheduled to the day that I can't go. So nothing from there. Audit finance, we had a meeting just prior to our aborted budget workshop. We'll probably have something prior to the next one. So we'll have a schedule out on that. Capital projects? Capital projects, building, and grounds.
We've completed all building walkthroughs. We have a meeting at the end of February with all principals and building reps. So we'll compile all of our notes and go through those, and then we'll be meeting with architects and project managers the first week of March. Okay. CTE? CTE was scheduled for last Friday. It was canceled and rescheduled within a coming date. PIEC? We actually had to reschedule that one as well for February. We don't have a date. No, February. It's the 9th, I think. So February 9th. We have a remaining calendar for the rest of the year. And all coaches, building principals, and... I think appropriate administration received some updates on some policies that we would like to bring forward to the policy committee so they should be on the lookout for that email from mr.
Ambruso and they can leave comments in the document and we'll be reviewing that the February 9th meeting as far as I think there's two policies we'll be bringing forward yes yep so that we just have to policy policy committee policy met january 14th we're recommending amendments to the attendance policies which we'll do or which we'll recommend for this meeting in new business um and then we are meeting february 3rd or is our next meeting community use of district facilities policies on the agenda. I look forward to talking about student governance policy ideas in accordance with the form that they had, that student council, Proctor student council had with the middle schools. at Proctor two weeks ago last week that the student rep talked about. Looking forward to hearing a little bit more about that and
how we can move some of the policies forward there. And then there's a couple new required policies from BOCES that will be coming up. Okay. Code of conduct. We have not met. Nothing to change there yet. All right. Communications. We'll be meeting in February. One day, I think. Am I reading? No, it's okay. All right. I need a motion to approve the minutes of the December 16, 2025 regular and special meetings. Take them together. Second. Okay. Any corrections, additions, deletions? No. All right. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Motion carries. Continuing business. Under new business, I have... something resolution proposed and hopefully get adopted whereas the board has reviewed the terms of the proposed consulting agreement with an effective date of January 28 2026 pertaining to a personnel matter now therefore be it resolved by the
Board of Education of the Yucca City School District as follows board hereby approves the proposed consulting agreement agrees to be responsible for costs incurred on the agreements this resolution shall take effect immediately need a motion Oh any discussion all in favor motion carries all right I got another resolution I'm gonna need a motion to adopt this resolution Whereas the summons a complaint were filed in the United County State Supreme Court index number EFC a two zero two six zero zero zero two one four Here and after referred to as the litigation asserting claims against the Utica City School District, hereinafter referred to as the district, and Danielle N. Padula, individually and as a member of the Utica City School District Board of Education, hereinafter referred to as the Board of Education, and now, therefore, the
Board of Education hereby resolves to defend and indemnify Danielle N. Padula in the litigation through either the use of insurance coverage or school district resources to the extent provided for by the school district. liability insurance coverage and otherwise provided by law provided for by law and I have a motion any discussion all in favor motion passes any other new business yes I have the four recommendations from the policy committee I make a motion to adopt palette board policy seven thousand and six as a member okay I need a second Okay. I read that. I just was wondering if you could just kind of generally explain what you were hoping to accomplish with it. The amendments to this dependent policy? Yeah. I'm trying to understand. So the recommendations made by the Attendance Committee to the Policy
Committee and the Policy Committee is recommending are essentially twofold. One, I'm sorry, they're more than twofold, but one is to modernize language and sort of correct typographical issues within all the policies. That's been a goal for us all along. The more substantive points are, one, making a comprehensive and uniform attendance policy across the entire district instead of how it was previously organized which was split between the primary and secondary schools And the second was to use more restorative practices when dealing with attendance issues. Those included, Mr. Fletcher can also hop in here if he wants to, but removing attendance requirements for summer school eligibility, which was a barrier before to students attending summer schools that they hadn't attended school enough to qualify for it. And also moving away from just... pure detention or suspension oriented
adjustments and more towards moving those students to the system of care so that they're actually engaged with the school district rather than just being disciplined for attendance issues okay anybody else have any comments questions hearing none all in favor all right opposed motion carries second motion is to adopt as amended regulation 7006.1 which is the implementation of the attendance policy across the district. I saw something in there. Oh, I'm sorry. That's the motion. I need a second. Second. I saw something in there about it looked like there was a change in the number of days. What's that about? Yeah, so that was a change in modernizing the policy is that they know. Again, I might be wrong about this, but I don't think I am. Is that the state law, I think I remember correctly,
state law no longer works with percentages. It now works, or I'm sorry, it no longer works with raw days out of school. It now works as a percentage that students are allowed to miss before they're put into those attendance categories. Okay, anybody else have any questions? No. All right, hearing none, all in favor? Aye. Opposed? Motion carries. And then I can actually take these together. I have a motion to repeal Regulations 7,006.2 and 7,006.3. I need a second. Second. Any discussion? And just an explanation of those two. 7,006.3 was the primary school attendance policy because those have been... Uniformly dealt with in 7,000 6.1. It's no longer necessary 7,000 6.2 is the summary of the policy That the I believe the attendance committee writes and promulgates throughout the district The committee felt that it would
just be tedious to have the board approve every single change to the summary and instead allow the committee to make changes to the summary as it sees fit because it doesn't change the policy itself just the layman's terms summary of it thank you all in favor opposed motion carries any other new business any communication sorry one other thing i meant to say it during um the committee report but i did want to thank the attendance committee for their work on those policies because they originally took it did all the red line drafts and then brought it to the policy committee it was a lot of work undertaking on their part attendance committees mr felchi mr germer and mrs falchi so i'd like to thank them for the work that they did on that well thank
you any communication okay are we going to schedule a date for the workshop or do we want to Well, we're all here. We said we were going to do it right after the... After the February meeting. How about the 11th? No. Our meeting's February 10th. Yeah, we... I can't, no, that was anyway. How about the 12th? I definitely can't. I recommend either a Tuesday or a Monday or a Wednesday. How about the 17th? That's a good day. What's the 17th? I don't have the calendar. What about the 24th, when the board meeting should have been? No, that's not good by me. When's our March meeting? Wait, what, the 24th? I'm hoping the 24th. No, that's the March meeting. No, you're wrong. Isn't that our board meeting? How about March 3rd? No, February. March 3rd. What
about February 24th? It's way too far. March 3rd? I think I mean listen I as far as I'm concerned I think we ought to do it earlier rather than later I think February 3rd well we got the school board meeting on the 10 That's a lot. We already have a quick turnaround to get the board packing and things ready. Yeah, but you already got that stuff done for the workshop. No, we anticipate we probably have some revisions now based on conversation tonight, so no. Maybe send availability to the board clerks and then schedule it for the clerks. We'll have Kathy and Stephanie heard the cats. Okay. Any... All in favor of adjourning? Move it. Second. All in favor? All right. Well, good news. We got it done in Florida.
