001all right good evening everybody we're going to do the oh Pledge of Allegiance Mr per out all right I pledge allegiance to the flag United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all thank you all right call to order roll call please Anderson Dr pres Wayne John Fair Tri pres Christopher gadway here here here Richard here here all right we have Quorum resolve that the inter superintendent of schools rec commends to the board of education to approve the agenda motion please motion P Padre I'll second Chris Chris all in favor questions all in favor all right moving along all right going an executive session so resolve that the Board of Education enter executive sessions to discuss the employment history of a
002particular person or persons and we will be asking Mr pette to come in with us motion John second questions thoughts all in fav favor I I motion passes and we will be right back resol that the Board of Education return to regular session at 716 motion David David second Rick Rick discussion all in favor I I motion passes presentations CSC cpsc Trend projections I will move out of the way good evening okay we're just going to give you an overview of our special education department talk about some of our um regulation some of ours our data from the state education department we're going to start with the regulations because this kind of guides everything we do in the special education department and just kind of as an over view the individuals with Disabilities Act the
003idea is through the US Department of Education and that's the main federal law that we are following and then for New York State um that's part 200 and part 2011 those are the New York state regulations and the way that works is that New York state has to follow all of the federal guidance but then they can also add additional items that that need to be followed uh field memos so field memo just kind of clarifies or reiterates important information it doesn't necessarily change any regulations but it does clarify and it does like kind of give emphasis to different items there's a lot of different field memos that come out and um this is just an example of one okay and this was on least restrictive environment which you'll hear more about but essentially um
004reiterating that because New York State the data showed that there were too many students removed from the general education classes that they sent out this memo which um emphasized that we really need to follow Le restrictive environment it also sent out the district's percentage rates this was in 2015 and you can see that at that time beakman town these are three different least restrictive environment measures which we'll talk about a little bit more but students that with disabilities that were 80% or more of their school day in general education stting we were only at 40% just over 40% so we were in the red and that was definitely an area of needing Improvement so that's just an example of one field memo that's out there um diversity equity and inclusion or Dei dear colleague letter
005so this just came out this p from The Office of the Attorney General and that kind of reiterated diversity Equity inclusion and making sure you're following policies and practices related to that which includes students with disabilities and making sure that they aren't removed from their their peers um because of too much of this problem the State education department blueprint for improved results of students with disabilities because again New York State data showed in comparison to other states we were below other areas is so they put out a blueprint which you'll see a little bit more of um case law so there's a lot of different case law out there that um some is you know just as an example poity case which was back in 1992 that was um parents of a a child with
006Down Syndrome that sued the school board because they were challenging their child's placement in a separate setting and that Case established that inclusion was a presumption for students that you presumed that they would be included with their peers with supplementary AIDS and supports so there's obviously a lot of different cases and that's just one example um certification considerations so we always have to look at and this is getting much harder to do as we have fewer and fewer U teachers out there certified but we have to look at certifications and making sure we're placing Staffing staff appropriately um the old certification there used to be a kindergarten through 12 permanent special ed certification which went away a while back and they made like first through 2 grade 1 through six made it much more difficult
007to place teachers and um classroom so it looks like they're going back to the previous certification which is great and then we look at um we have State education department has Regional Associates our regional associate comes up here monthly to meet with the all the area chair people um and we have they bring us any updates or U new case law new anything from State education department and we also get monthly law bulletins on different case law in addition to Consulting with our attorney when we need to so those are just a lot of different areas that we have to consider when we're doing our job and trying to make sure that we're doing the best for our students is that we have to consider all of those regulations that come in add a lot
008of different formats going back to idea briefly so these are just the obviously it's a um it's a big law but these are the six main pillars for appropriate public education obviously uh should be no cost to parents but appropriate meaning it's following all the regulations um and following IEPs appropriate evaluations we are required at parent permission to evaluate students and we also have to make sure we're evaluating in all the areas of the suspected disability and we also have to do re-evaluations every three years for students um individualized education plans those have to be developed and reviewed annually and obviously they were supposed to be very individualized least restrictive environment I mentioned before and we'll get into a little bit more um parent participation we always want to include parents that are members of
009the committee on special education and procedural safeguards so these this protects students and parents so and it gives like we have to provide written notification of the meetings and anytime we want to we're proposing a change to a child's program replacement or IEP and then it also gives parents the right to mediation or doe process hearing or written re so those are the six kind of main areas of IA so I'll talk about the the timeline briefly sometimes there's some confusion about you know is inclusion a new thing or or an old thing it's decently old so um special education all kind of steamed ahead in the United States at burington it's called willber which is in the late 60s and really came to ahe in 72 um it was a back when we we
010call an institution this is located in Staten Island um and students with disabilities were were sent there and the condition the conditions were horrible it was in 72 haraldo Rivera I think this was a big break he took a camera fing report that is pretty work place took a camera fing and that was you know publicized you know nationally um students were with no education students were were you know sitting their feces students were naked there's no instruction um so that's kind of a seminal event in America that made you know Congress active change special education so at at this point in time school districts only educated about one out of every five disabilities the other four were sent to other schools or places you know institutionalized um like in willbrook so 1975 it was
011then called the educational for all handicap children act um and then 1990 it's the same act but but was reauthorized um some things were changed uh in 1998 um Congress added requirement that school focus on postsecondary transition planning for students who are exib um in 1990 there was the American Disabilities Act which is distinct from schools except portions of it do impact students um the 54th section um and references in schools as students receive Public Funding so this is where we get Section 54 accommodation PL for which we'll talk about a little bit more um later 2004 reauthorized again um they added the requirement for early intervention so those are special education services that occur um before child for prek special education services um 2015 this is when n said just kind of let districts
012know that we're not where we need to be to meet to meet FAL requirements that's where the blueprint came from uh main emphasis was least restrict environment um they put out a blueprint um I'll talk about that in the next slide and then 2023 just this August um there's you know dear colleag letter from the attorney Bill of New York State um there boing District that if you do not meet certain requirements inclusion was was one of that specifically in tax modification you you R Val both state law and federal law so this is the I'm sorry that's a bit small this is uh kind of some of the main build points for New York State's um plan to kind of go from 2015 to meet um Federal requirements um I guess one part of
013this is just a more concentrated Focus for students of disabilities um instead of I guess overall instead of special education inclusion just being you know even proximity or classroom for each student um New York State expects that each student um has individualized planning done for them um so just because a child may need more than another child it's it is he it's illegal just to put them in another classroom because that that personal due diligence of creating um different accommodations um it does require a lot of data so a lot of things cannot be done if they're not Based on data um it does um require and expect you know quality teaching and all things from the behavior CL management to you act deliver of content reading and Ma Etc and those things have to
014be done one to improve student learning but also prior to other um more rested sets Okay this is just a kind of a visual for you on specially what special education is that specially designed instruction which means that we're adapting the content the methodology and the delivery of instruction for students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment wherever that is um and that all of those things that adapting has to be done wherever they are at and that is so that they can have access to the curriculum and this next this is just the the CSC um timeline um regarding evaluation so what evaluation so school district schools can make uh request for evaluations as can um parents/guardians once that's done we we have 60 days to complete the evaluations um and we have 60
015um school days to get that recommendation to the Board of Education um so we have we have a few documents which upate of tomorrow so 12:13 because it's the day after the board meeting so the board you know you you you approve our agendas um and that that's where that 60-day stories come from um it is pretty straightforward there's some car Val If the child is unavailable for um evaluations or and just one thing to keep in mind there are various consent paperworks that have to go back and forth some these timelines don't actually start um until we get the consent back from family these valuations so just to give you an overview of what we do have here currently at beatman town at the elementary school we have integrated Co teaching services and some
016special classes incl 8811 which indicates there's eight students with disabilities to one teacher and one parent professional and a 12131 which is 12 students with disabilities for one teacher and then the 31 indicates there's a pair of professional for every three students that's what the mandated ratio is and often times we end up with more umir professionals that than just studs and then at the middle school we have integrated co- teing services along with the 811 and 1211 class rooms and at high school we have 151 life skills classrooms consultant teacher Services direct and indirect um and resource room and the consultant teacher service so the teacher may be a special education teacher pushing into a classroom that direct service where they're in the room uh with the general education teacher an indirect service would
017be a teacher that's checking in with that teacher providing um suggestions or assistance in a more indirect way right and then that bottom bullet you can see our current Staffing um how many teachers and AIDS and related service providers we have we have increased our AIDS this year um significantly part due to the addition of two more um preschool classrooms we'll talk about and then in also just to provide more support um based on individual student needs or classroom needs and I will I did forget to mention that the high school 151 M skill listed on this slide um it was part of the New York State group R for Success so the students in those class were based upon that 215 guidance they can earn seedos credential St career and developmental occupational study certificate
018um part of that New York State H organization as far as school programs we now have six special classes in an integrated setting which is also a 61 one and so that indicates both deceiving there are 18 students in the classroom but there are six students with disabilities for special education teacher and a PA professional there's also there's a general education teacher in the room full-time along with a uh par professional that was in the room prior to the special education classroom being posted there so there are six rooms within our upk programs we have special education itinerant services and related services that may be provided in the home at daycare wherever the students located during the day and then we also provide preschool evaluations and that's based on parent selection so once a uh
019parent consents to an evaluation they choose at the preschool level they can choose whatever they would like that evaluation to take place which agency and just looking at some of our data so these are just our our numbers so obviously it fluctuates throughout the Year this is based on bed's day data in our day in October where our our data is pulled So currently we have 33 school age students with disabilities and 46 preschool students with disabilities the preschool number you can see it's been fairly consistent over the years preschool fluctuates more just because they they are in and out so much we have you know students are referred as their in early intervention and then they um are exited obviously when they're transitioning to kindergarten so it's a shorter period of time they in
020preschool services and given the timelines um sometimes that's interesting like for example we just met on a preschool student with initial eligibility in December that student will stay in early intervention through September and so we won't actually have them for preschool until September for any services so that's a long time um for a two 2-year-old so we'll again you know as it gets closer but the preschool world is a little bit different for that reason and that does not include our section 5504 so this is the the percent of students enrolled in the town School District who are classified with an IEP so we're currently at 18% um that's actually that's the state average is 19% the Clinton County average is 18% other districts around us uh plat is 20 1% uh crew is 21%
021and CCs is 17% so we have a we have an average classification rate so least restricted environments probably I know there six pillars of by but this is probably um the the main pillar um what least restricted environment means is Define as being um in a classroom setting with their non estable peers to the greatest extent as possible um and to achieve that they should even if requires um supplemental aids modifications computations um all the sh provided in the child's normal classroom part of this also it does include um behavioral modifications and also expectations and actually just all that one slide this time you showed with the different guidance we get we also get um case law updates and just just came out today there's a a lawsuits allowed to move ahead a $50 million
022lawsuit um based upon a child being move from the classroom and the disp appear from the the legal updates we get they didn't do all the stuff required to move a child from the regular classroom to a more restrictive set so the first of those is a teacher does or should do is having a a a thought out well implemented sa classroom management plan for all the students and then something additionals need an additional plan for indidual student should be done um data should be collected and what works well what doesn't work um an FBA a behavioral assessment can be done that could lead to a behavior convention plan it needs to be implemented with Fidel Fidelity and updates as needed there's certain steps that need to be done if you skip some of those
023steps or you ear go to step two until step one that skip a step you're violating the child's civil rights um and this last part so it think on this next slide too so a child's disability cannot be removed from the regular classro so because they need modifications um even in the content itself so we all we often hear the term we're trying to extinguish it but they're so low the law is the law we do have to make modifications accommodations individual plans if necessary sweet and so when you read idea may the the concept of law itself kind of the the Preamble that legislators do um they based it on 50 years of research and the research is definitive um students who are included um they they do better than if they're not um
024so there's that is why the the courts always back up Ida as opposed to speaking of law but it's just of students um this is actually from the court case in this T the child was down syndome um who was pulled out of the classroom that H his that child's right is to be mainstream as the first placement and if you're going to with a child there's a heavy LIF to do so the premise is that he starts off in a general education classroom support is needed prior when we look at some of our data related to lease restrictive environment and this you'll see this on a graph as well but you can see over the last several years we've gradually increased our time um have improved our numbers as far as this restrictive environment
025so we do that by every year we look at each student individually and what would be best for them how can we include them um what supports do they need and so every year we we kind of got a little bit better and you can see that last 2122 we at and this is again that same measure of students with disabilities that are in general education 80% or more of their day we're at 66% we just U the New York City Target was 582 5 and I'll come back to that pral data but here's a graph of that same data so you see over the years that we we' gradually increase that um time in the general education setting for our students and you know these this is just one measure again that we we
026have and you'll see some others but every year special education like uh Mr pppy said least restrictive environment is something we have to measure but we also have to look at data related to suspensions transition post School outcomes um hearing requests timely evaluations parent involvement there are many many different things that we have to look at as far as that every year but this is one of the main ones so this is um as you as I mentioned you can see where we you know and and this has been this was a board goal starting in 2018 that we would improve our resear requir numbers in 20 20 21 years jump there that was the first year that we had we did not have a 151 academic program in high school um so there were
027a few different factors in that decision not only what looking at what was best for the students and meeting with the teachers and talking about that but also looking at certification changes at that time that impacted us as well so if you look at this it would start with there's two different measures on this graph and the first is that 80% the dark red um and then the green is the state Target so you can see that we did not meet the state Target 17 18 18 19 1920 in 2021 was the first year we met that state Target although nationally um we were below the national Target which 66% or more children nationally were in general education s and we were at 63 and then you can see that that data I just had
028talked about before this the light red and light green that is another measure that we uh just followed which is students with disabilities that spend less than 40% of their day in general education program now this one's different because we want it to be lower than the green bar at or lower whereas the other one we needed to be at or higher this one we want to be lower so you you can see looking at that that 2122 was actually the first year that we've met that me and then in preschool this is um different measures for preschool so you'll see that measurement a and this is right from our New York state report card is students preschool students receiving their special education and related services and a general education set and we are at
02956.5% the state Target was 39.5 so we met that Target and in that's in our definitely due to our integrated preschool program and then the measurement B is the number of preschool students served in a um separate setting a separate classroom setting and we were below we met the state Target because we were below the 29.8 target the third measure is the number of students served in the home and the target was 11% or lower and you can see we're at 26.1 so we did not get the target for that and and that is um I expect that will improve after this year's data caught up a bit because of the additional classrooms we added uh but part of this number and the challenge with it is that there aren't enough preschool programs in general
030to our needs so for instance a self contained preschool program which is offered at North Country kids there are currently 34 preschoolers on a waiting list in the county for that program so we do have students that aren't getting preschool Services we don't have home providers to provide special education related services in the home so that's a challenge to me that measurement see um in general not enough classrooms on services looking at this this is just the past um 3 years that we have data on you can see as our least restrictive environment the number of students in the general education more our graduation rate has improved the students with disabilities as well which is goes along with the um certainly goes along with the data and research and one thing to knowe um the
031state is always a year behind in their data we know you know covid-19 and the state has changed in a graduation requirement since then all this data before Co so yes 21 2021 the last year on there is actually the year prior for GR and then just looking at some of the additional supports provided as we um Tred to increase our students time in general education we've increased teachers and AIDS um greatly related service providers um agents and providers trying to uh have common planning time for all of our teachers working together we've added an integrated indect sorry consultant teacher to support students in the general setting and up with uh those inclusive practices a lot of professional development um a lot of that is through inclusive schooling in addition to what we're doing here
032locally we have partnered with inclusive schooling over the last few years to provide some trainings for uh teachers and Care Professionals and related servic [Music] this so cves data you can see that has changed over the years greatly um we have right now you can see way back in 20 11 so there was a big change in that first three years on the graph in that this the IEP diploma that used to be offered through New York State came to was eliminated so students were required to be in that general education curriculum and at that time there were a lot of students you can see almost 40 had to CVS many of those were half day students going into a careers program and that became not um a possibility when the state made those ches
033and eliminated the IEP diploma because students obviously that holds them back if they do not have a high school diploma and so this you know state was looking at those numbers and made those changes and so you can see that went down and then also along that time which was was prior to us but we know of beatman town brought back their um special education programs they open their own 811 and 1211 classrooms so that also decreased the numbers at cdes we have had an increase in the last few years A lot of times it need to transfer students because um if a student transfers to us and they're already attending CD us we aren't um necessarily going to move them back to be in town even if they have a program because there a
034lot of things to consider they might be transient students that move a lot and we don't want to pull them here if they're going to move again and then back in need a program there and then they've been shut out of that um or for consistency and they need dis stability if it's mid year and we don't want to disrupt their their year there are students we always of course look at at try to meet their needs in our district currently of the 12 students we have there five of them are transfer students to us so these are the five of four plans I I mentioned previously as part of the ameran Disabilities Act so the Ada requires you know reasonable accommodations um places of employment public facilities information um communication and of course the
035school settings um our numbers your Ser numbers are somewhat consistent the the main way we delineate between a section 54 accommodation plan and an individual education plan um is the need for specialized instruction or for the need for Teacher support U through special education so our five four plans this can include something um maybe a diabetic which most of our students can use cell phones during school day but we have a plan that allows a diabetic to check your phone because their instant p is connected to an app phone it may have some nursing Services uh for diabetes um something simple as that we have some plans for ADHD food allergies um backpack different medical needs or any any disability um we try to accommodate so mckenny Bento um these are students that until I
036think 2 years ago um the state would repr some of their Pap work still does as homeless students so these are students who who lack a fixed adequate regular nighttime residence um I'll give you just couple of examples so anytime a child is living in a hotel they are automatically deemed as as a homeless child um our most common number on that list is when a child is doubled up being delt up when we typically see maybe a a a parent and a child have to move in with their with their with the child's grandparents um and they may not have the requir paperwork um to enroll however the mcken vental status allows them to do so to the benefits of being um or the intent of this law um is if you are a
037homeless child and you have to move didn't be you lose housing for one reason or another and you need to move in with your grandparents with in the perw school district the law allows you to either enroll in crew without delay to attend school in deep town and we provide transportation and the numbers um you they've gone these numbers the fluctuations we see actually actually there what happens in in the Europe state and just of of note I don't want to say all but most or at least many of the hotels in in plant are all within within de Town School District and so sometimes happens a child may move here um live in a hotel for you know a few weeks or a month or so um and then get housing in another District
038which it's great however the it's often not best for the child to say there third that school year they they can remain with us throughout the school year and then start um fresh the next school year and we do have some mckenny Vendo 1A set aside funding um it's a federal funding source and we can use it to buy certain items as facilitate um their attendance and participation in education for example we buy lots of um snow pants and jacket because they don't have snow Pann jackets you can't go inside with your PE during press we buy a lot of sneakers for PE class uh We've bought immunizations just to get the kids in school who didn't need it currently Jen just so you know we're working on buying a pair of glasses for a
039kid um we've done we it's the law tells you what you can't buy you can't buy yearbooks with the money but it doesn't it's everything else that's on on the list we we try toate so there there are there is a reimbursement system um is part of part of my job is entering these numbers it it fluctuates if a child has an ID and depending on what kind of cost that child incurs it fluctuates how much the district um is reimbursed um so the numbers you some of our numbers some children we reimbursed $167 last school year some students um $3,000 just that's why there's some variations so foster care this is the number of students enroll in B town in foster care so the the gray bar those are students who were beac Town
040students and then they ended up in foster care and still continue to attend be town and just like the Kento if you you're beac Town student you end up in foster care either Malone you can still you still entitled to come to school um in be town the red those are students who were in another school district Ed up the foster care and but both both numbers um go upward okay elll stands for our English language Learners we've seen an increase the last um few years of various um reasons um our numbers right now it's still only about 1% % of the district populations are English language Learners um the Old State data says 8% the newest ones I can compile um is 133% um so if we were at the state average we would
041have roughly 10 times that number of English language leers um we we are significantly below we actually don't need any threshold we we the paperwork I have to track there there's many steps we don't do because of the low or so um in that being said we do have to provide services so we've expanded from one elll provider to three um there are some pretty stringent requirements to how many supplemental hours of instruction these students receive or for additional supports that can be done um in the classroom preferably um so just to meet that scheduling piece um we've we're up to three instructors for that purpose so some of our strengths as you saw our graduation rate so the New York State average for students with disabilities is 62% so we're um at 73.1 as
042of 2021 so obviously doing than that state average our dropout rate um is we' met the state Target as well in addition to suspension rate students in separate schools care involvement those are all areas that we have done well in and of course the L 80% in Jed we talking about other goals we want to continue to decrease the dropout rate with disabilities cuz although we might Comm the target it's still too many we don't want to see any of them drop out we want to keep um improving our time in the least restrictive environment and we want to increase the integration in our job sites both in house and you know getting students working in the community to help with our po School outcomes and Al offering FAL integrated approaches some of our potential
043challenges that we Face they are definitely challenges actually our the Staffing is finding um teachers AIDS related service providers all of these areas is becoming more more difficult to find people and lack of preschool providers I mentioned outside placements this has been a very big obstacle um this year and last year to some degree without any uh we had for the first time we had students start the year on a waiting list from cves and so without openings at cves we have to look at what else we can do um currently have students on home instruction which is not ideal and we have to look at residential placements which is obviously more restrictive for the child also more costly and um not not really so hopefully and I think that speaks to everybody's growing need
044in area for placements that their own openings there then of course we also uh as Nick mentioned with the increase in students that are eligible under Mento or students in foster care and the English Lang L those all come with resources that we have to provide as well and it can be challenging to find we are fortunate right now that we have providers to provide the English language learner services but um that that is a chge questions did you go back to page three no my open no seriously than um yeah the graduation rate for 22 23 you don't have that no the um this is based on the information from the state education department so even though we I'm sure Mr P has his own internal numbers they have different calculations because they also
045look at the foure graduation rate 5e graduation right students with disabilities have of course until they're 21 now 22 to finish school so um this I only use the data from State else all right thank you very much thank you intern superintendent schools are up all right trying to make it uh quick just wanted to recognize a couple of our employees on uh Friday December 8th two of our employees were with a group of fire department personnel shopping at Walmart for the annual holiday party at the fire station their Pages went off while they were there and a gentleman was in cardiac arrest in the food section at Walmart when the page was resented the gentleman was outside the food door for the food entrance store at this time two of the fire department group
046are current um or former EMTs these are our people they jumped into action performing CPR on site until the ambulance arrived to to transport and we're happy and grateful informed that all because of these two people this gentleman survived he's alive and well and able to spend the holidays with his family so our two dedicated employees are Christy Daniels who works in our bus garage and Charlene trbl who's a teacher's aid over at cin [Applause] head that's good stuff okay you know nobody realizes a and and it's good to know about our people doing those things also what I provided you was no I didn't provide so let me hand this is a draft for the um the superintendent brochure which will be electronically posted when they post the actual job application and um we
047just received it today and since it came in sh and I looked it over and then we went to Joan who's got eyes like a HW right eag yeah joh yeah and um basically she found a lot of things that need some updating and correcting and she's she's correct so we reached out to bosis and Olivia is going to be coming we believe on Thursday to meet with us and Joan so that we could do the corrections the biggest thing that we were focused on though is in the um brochure there's a lot of things about what we're looking for in our candidate and um the survey that was open closed on Friday and we found that the three highest things were Integrity trust and Communications so those are the things that came out of
048we cross 600 right I mean it was close it was close so and we had 1,00 people I believe who weren't even parents or employees they were regular community members so the survey went well and um those are the things that stood out that we were trying to find and incorporate into the candidate profile M Dr Davey and I are going to be looking to have a workshop with the board in the future to go over all the data that was collected from this survey and try to give you a little bit of you know recommendations for next steps so that you can start your strategic plan next year with your new superintendent and some of the other things to do before you put out your next survey because there's a lot of great things
049on that survey and there's a few things that really need to be addressed and looked at so we're going to try to do a work workshop with you know the board to make sure you have that information and can see that when uh when do you think you want it's probably after after the New Year and we got to see Dr Davey so once we we can get a date we'll put it out find the date for Dr Davey or two or three then we'll put out what date works best for the board and find the place and get everyone together and go over that information um if you look there's the timeline on here which you'll see the applications are due around February 16th you'll meet after February 16th to do candidate selections that
050gives Dr Davy time to do research for you on what applications are in probably initial interviews will occur within 18th 19th that's most likely Board second round interviews probably invit thousands more people April 8th 9th or 15th 16th or all four I don't know then the third round would be your finalist on however whatever the design is for that one you'll probably select in April the anticipated appointment dates May 14th because it takes a while after you do select somebody to finally get the um our school attorney and the and the nisus attorney together to hammer out that contract and the desired starting date is July 4th July 1st 2024 and believe me that's my desired date too so let's make sure we get that done all right so you know just trying to keep
051it brief because we're running late are there any other questions of me or anything you need great thank you Miss BR you're up I'll be real brick I don't have much um just a quick update on the PA system going in at kland head they're um actually moving faster than they thought they're going to be done over there looks like by the end of the month um and then they're going to be transitioning over to the main building to get that started so everything is going I shouldn't even say it's going quite well um so it all looks good and and hopefully we'll be ahead of schedule thank you building principles good evening everybody um just two quick things I want to highlight the high school at this time uh have two pretty cool opportunities
052that come in fruition um with a lot of work from a lot of different people with teacher Administration um a couple Partnerships that we're starting to work with um I just sent over today mou to J Parliament on this partnership it's a pretty cool opportunity so I know m p and Mr py talked about the leas restrictive environment the course we're working on right now is a science Discovery course so this is a brand new course that we offered this year um with Mr pretzer one of our science teachers um and this is a third science I think third science for our students that aren't on Regent track we offer that video something that they can do to work through that process um so it's about 50% of the students that do have IEPs in
053that classroom um so this unique opportunity is we're teaming up with Michelin um here in platsburg and we're going to work with a group of students from Germany um and work on what they call a challenge so basically mission mission gives us challenge um and this particular challenge is going to be about snowm Wheel tracks um so right up kind of the alley of some of our students and that that that engagement um and they're going to try to figure out how to best suit that challenge so it might be some challenges that they they mentioned in there um how to remove the the clips manually from from the the tracks and how quickly they can do that and come up with the system that might be better for them um or how to reduce
054their carbon you know footprint when putting these these type of tracks in um so it's a really unique opportunity uh and they get to tour Michelin they get to be in Foods on the ground interact for what type of jobs they might want there um so it's a really fit unique opportunity through that um it's called authentic stem um and normally we're kind of piloting this because it's not something that normally goes through a course like the science dis discover so we've met several times in the last month and a half to make sure it fits the criteria for our students to make sure their ability to be able to curtail this program to fit what we want to do and they're extremely excited because they they they think this is a great opportunity because
055we can me more students a lot of times the hard part with some of these programs is that when you have a reg exam so say a Physics course or a chemistry course you're you're stuck to that curriculum for you know those reg exams this gives us the opportunity to think about outside the box with these students so it's not just fil for read um so we're we're unique in this it's something that has taken a lot of work a lot of meetings in the last month and a half um to get this to fruition um I can't wait to get it kicked off we're going to start it in January um there's a bunch of ventor training we're going to go through as well and make that come to fruition but I do want
056to thank Mr pretzer uh for having a grow a growth mindset in this because it wouldn't go anywhere if he wasn't willing to take that off within the classroom to make this work um so exciting uh not only this it exciting for that program but it's a new course with science Discovery he was I called him this Summer we had a conversation about a new course and we made it happen so really cool things that are happening with that um something similar to that is we also have and actually Aussie's part of this um we've teamed up through CFS um our fellows with Beta Technologies uh with Burlington um and they've actually got the tour uh we have four students right now teaming up with able um and they grow and work with beta Technologies
057on similar challenge they give them a challenge they work on it together and they create a solution to that challenge um aie can probably give you a little bit more it's pretty cool they won a field trip last week um to Burlington and they got to be inside this kind of drone like flame they kind of takes off straight in the air um they got to do a simulator with it um so once again looking at that angle students being um that stem technology careers profession um challenging our kids so um I want to thank our Educators in that team Mr Yanti uh Mr horn and Mr Mard um for working with our students and going on those field trips to make this come and happen so awesome might to tell you a little bit
058more about that too um the two cool opportunities uh that take a lot of work that take a lot of preparation uh that are coming coition so awesome work by all thank you thank you good evening principal Nelson is unable to be here tonight so I have the privilege of sharing some Middle School highlights first off we are very proud of the first quarter performance of our BMS students 68% of our students achieved first quarter um average of 85 cor 210 students achieved High honorable and 103 earned honorable status we're also pleased to announce that we have 18 students who qualified for All County Chorus and four qualified for band we are proud of these students and all they are accomplishing and they represent our school with we conducted our classroom spelling be we love

060relaxing winter break to recharge from everything they've accomplished first four months of the school [Music] year good evening um J gr associate principal speaking on behalf of thees M could not be here this evening so a couple of highlights from in the past month um for those who are unfamiliar here um in the last several years of the bees family has worked very hard to participate in the holiday parade um in platsburg so this year was no different students and staff alike were all in this year uh classrooms across the grade levels created items for the Flo and it came together on December 2nd um with a beautiful display for those that could see it find highlights on Facebook um excellent school spirit was showed by everyone who attended um and we are still on
061results we got trouble to office news little passionate about it it's not as big as last year this this uh float like just sorry just to give like a little description of it they they worked on this thing we had you know there was a like a raccoon that was ice skating and spun around there was a you know a a bear that fished and it worked worked they had a like a fishing Shanty with a chimney they had a snow machine a smoke machine in it so when they fired it up like the chimney glue and it had this it was it was awesome I got to dress up like Yukon Cornelius again and and our trophy was a little smaller we should have came in first place we got best school second place
062first I don't think they wanted to give it to us two years in a row yeah same I agree sounds good to me time I will do updates I will make to be more with some of my has been very busy as well coordinating two different events one of them is our monthly uh donuts with grown-ups which we do at the beginning of the month um and starting tomorrow um they have assisted with setting up frosty shop so that is um an opportunity where the volunteers come in for a mystical shopping experience for the students over the course of two days um I saw them carrying in all the goods today so there's there's a lot of setup to do there um the students come in they shop for loved ones the gifts are wrapped
063anded and able to go home with the kiddos and um we were able to also arrange by calling in some favors that we will have Santa visiting us this Friday as well so that's very exciting um in terms of what's actually happening a little more on the classroom side of things um a few of the new curricula that are being implemented are going pretty well the new social emotional learning curriculum character strong which some people might be familiar with um has really nicely and what we have in place and that's going pretty well y the squared um math program has also been pretty successful and kindergarten and first grade were recently trained for heger um which is a kind of a bridge vmic awareness curriculum and have implemented that as well so thank you thank
064you you thank you hi there just a couple of things going on in Cumberland head December is magical month for our elementary students first off I want to give an eagle Pride shout out to our daytime custodian Jolene Daniels she's made our lobby look really fusted and she did it that um the night before parents came for conferences so everything look so nice for our parents and our kids were really happy when they walked into school after Thanksgiving break magical to watch them react to it so thanks jene and buildings and grounds for everything that they do we have quite a few fun activities planned for our students Mrs wer and Mrs GES third grade students will be performing The Polar Express play for the entire school this folders here how many years is this
065now um is maybe more Alexis was in the first production as a first grader our kindergarten families are invited to make with their children p ising a school store which is kind of nice because at this school store our students can secret shop for their parents and love ones and our PT will actually wrap it up for them so they have something to give their parents underneath the tree that's special umland head has their annual visit from singing Santa he'll host a schoolwide sing along and we look forward to our upcoming Winter concert we have fourth and fifth grade course and our band students performing a few numbers during the day uh for the students and also in the evening for families um lots of activity in the classroom teachers are busy helping their students
066prepare GI for their families and I truly appreciate the work that all of our teachers and staff are doing atland to make this time of year special because a lot of times our students only know celebrations at school and they don't get the same kind of bells and whistles at home so all the work that everybody's doing is really making it's a special time for I thank you all right you're um so I'll just go on the list so cover head um when speaking with students and representatives they pointed out the 12 days of giving Which is um which goes on throughout the school and involves uh students collecting and donating a bunch of food for um local food pantries um that just goes directly to them um and all this was made possible through
067like student uh student council um advisers uh working together um um through the 12 days uh it went on for a total of 12 days as you probably expect and it uh of what I know it ended today with the final food type of past and sauce because every day had a different type of food type um so students could emphasize get as much in this day of this kind another this kind um this is all done to get meals for people that really needed them um during this time of year um and for a charity in general uh made possible just um comeing with head students and staff uh for the elementary school of beep Town um students are also contribued in the holidays C celebrations they highlighted um the holiday for aen platberg
068as well uh institutes are able to enjoy and participate in U making so great uh along with that mple students in the elementary have been adding to um kindness throughout the season in general um and on top of that um activities in the elementary school school um involving stem have been going on there have been many successful projects and libraries based around stem and that it's skill set which um these projects can help students in their future through multiple ways um for the Middle School um as was able to talk to U good group of students uh they have immediately brought up how excited they are for all the holiday festivities coming up in the middle school they brought up um how they're able to decorate the hallways with um them and all their friends
069um all the middle school hallways are going to be able to be decorated and there's somewhat of a competition they're having with it uh along with that they're having a Winter Dance of the sparkly snowl theme that they're all very excited about and they brought up um other activities for the holiday days they're doing like weave making get wrapping making dog treats um along with that activities uh they've been doing terrible work as well um with many of the students directly working with the Make A Wish Foundation um they've been doing selling stars um and raising money for Make A Wish um and they went to the mall to and as well uh support that just overall support that great cause um for the high school many of the students I spoke with uh brought
070up our amazing fundraisers we just had we uh this month we um we the NHS fundraiser uh for charity of course Reed around $1,400 by selling reads um which goes to generable causes and supports the NHS um club's work and makes what they do possible um along with that the junior class was able to have a very successful fundraiser um to pay for their prom um and uh highlight or shout out to the sophomore class for breaking multiple records with their uh Crispy Cream fundraiser they had this month uh they raised something like $78,000 which is as much as I think the senior class has alone almost so it that makes a huge difference uh as you could imagine so every all the sophomores were extremely proud of that and couldn't um stop talking about
071that um the uh other than that everybody's uh starting to get really excited for um winter sports starting uh with some sports see seemingly having a really good shot at um future championships but also like team teams like track swelling in numbers and talent um uh cheerleading Vol not volleyball cheerleading girlf basketball all these are having like seemingly great starts to their season um and everybody's getting extremely excited for that and just a little side note on what B said um the beta uh trip that I was able to participate in was extremely extremely cool and everybody who was able to go on it was extremely excited but not only that it is starting to get other people in the high school who weren't able to go on it excited about it um more interested
072about about it and it's making more of a general attitude um a more of a positive attitude towards them and getting just a more General excitement in high school uh which has been really nice other than that that's all I have thank you all thank you you thank you any extra crispy cream boxes I'm happy to buy how many trucks did they need I have no idea we had 4,000 wow it's amazing all right public comments section is there anybody here who's interested in speaking for public comment okay we'll carry on minutes as presented result of the inter superintendent of schools rec commend to the board of education to approve the following minutes motion Mo Chris second py any questions from those minutes from speak all in favor I I motion passes result that the
073inter superintendent of schools recommends to the board of education to approve the CSC cpsc and 504 recommendations dated motion motion Rick Rick second second John John questions discussion all in favor I motion passes Personnel uh we will be adding a section o and a p to the Personnel section I believe let me see where we're at and O and and for the Public's knowledge section o is recommendation to approve termination for the uh head varsity basketball coach section p is recommendation to approve an interim co- uh head coaches for Far City basketball coach all right so resol that the inter superintendent of schools are convinced to the Board of Education that the following resolutions on this consent agenda resignations appointments and retirement be and are hereby approved as as amended I'm adding that to that
074okay okay way any questions or discussion on this all in favor I motion passes um sure there's nothing else all right miscellaneous is all that the interance superintendent of schooler commen to the Board of Education that the following resolutions of this consent agenda organizational charge being are hereby approved motion first Mo okay Troy second second okay any questions discussion on the or chart yeah I actually do have one okay um I believe in the current setup that our dean of students works both with middle school and high school and on the organizational chart he reports to the high school principal should that report to both yeah he he should have a line go to him for both so we can make that Amendment before you approve we'll just correct that line tomorrow and can we
075correct and can we correct the spelling of Treasurer Treasurer yeah we're missing a letter and her Letter's out of place wow that's that's the French version no I took French that's not the French version either thank you it's CLE it's clean on all right okay all in favor I motion passes policies result that the superintendent of schools recomend to the board of education to approve the following policies a motion John second all right right now these are all second readings I'd like to discuss the public participation at board meeting yeah okay um I'll be frank after after going through it and keeping your comments from last week in mind I I don't really understand the necessity of the policy um we generally don't get a ton of public comments um also I think if we
076were calling it a request there's nothing in the policy that says who dispositions the request how it's dispositioned um um so although I understand how this board intends to use it based on how vague it is I'm I'm I don't know how you know future board future superintendent could use that so as it sits currently I I I I I just like I said I don't see it for it do you have any recommendations that you'd like to change or modify well like I said I I think as far as dispositioning it we call it a request M so we don't have anything in there that describes who decides who gets to speak and who doesn't um we don't have anything in there that outlines a criteria for how you know how that decision is
077made so again with without those two things I I just don't I don't understand the necessity of the policy it kind of seems to me like it's a a solution in search for a problem um what do we what do we cover the intent and that'll give us some some light as to so you have like 15 minute public thing which you could extend this board could extend it sure the deal is if you had a situation on you know should we have therapy dogs in school sure and you've had this place filled with like a thousand people y you want to still stay within your 15 minutes you want to give everyone who wants to make a comment about the therapy dogs that sheet of paper and if we had to keep printing them
078to print them up so you might give like x amount of people their opportunity to talk Pro about therapy dogs give some people x amount of time to talk con about the pro property the dogs at the meantime Chelsea has collected 100 plus things okay the board can then say you know what we didn't hear enough from the con or the pro we want to even hear more or you could say we heard both sides very relevant and intriguing things Chelsea's collected comments from anyone who wants a response so that we're going to read all of these things so your voice will be heard but we're not going to spend four hours at a meeting giving everyone an opportunity or if a person to get a chance to go to the mic their comment was
079not heard because you would have a written comment from everybody that we could get back say thank you for coming to our board meeting thanks for sharing your thoughts on X Y and Z the board appreciates your input and then get some of that information back it also gives you an idea of who what was going on in the crowd because I've been to board meetings where the loudest voice is all you hear and that there's people in there going I'm not standing up that crazy man scared me away might be Pro dog might be cond dog right we don't know cuz I've been in meetings where there were mergers and anti- merger people were way way way louder than the merger people but you know what there was just as many of them there
080but you wouldn't know it from that open mic So based on that and there were other things going on at the same time so nisba um Erie Wan started coming up with some of these things so that you could collect everyone's voice and not have your meeting go to midnight so that's what it's about the board and the board president specifically still control that meeting you could extend it you could ask more people to comment those are guidelines y so being that there's guidelines there's not a hard and fast but what the guidelines do is they protect you to put order back into your media so for example it says things that people shouldn't be talking about that's your guideline you don't want people talking about Personnel I don't want them talking about Mrs ratchet
081over in the cafeteria in a public meeting that's why you put those things down but if a person wants to write a comment about Mrs ratchet and give it to so at that point when you see that the comments about Mrs ratchet before somebody stands up at the mic you might go that's one that we're going to make sure we don't call on but we're still going to respond to that that person so that's what this mechanism sets up and I think that's I I I again I I I guess I understand the intent but there's nothing in the policy that decides who dispositions the requests if that's Chelsea if that's you if it's the board president usually the board president but it's not the policy there's nothing that decides the criteria that is used
082to disposition those and my fear is that in the hands of the wrong board or the wrong superintendent that silences people's voice right off the bat because they can be dispositioned not to be allowed to speak it's because there's there's no guard rails the same thing could happen now where you let people talk for 15 minutes and you shut them right down and don't even have a discussion to move on and that being the case I don't know why we need a policy that says it if it's already in the guidelin because after those 15 minutes you have no idea what all these people who wanted to provide you information want to provide you this this does allow for a mechanism for more voices to be heard are you saying that's because we are and
083and have the opportunity to document something so something is also done about it because one of one of the things we don't want is things get presented things get talked about and they just disappear sure and that frustrates people if we have a system that allows the documentation to come through to the board because the board will have access to this information by the way y then we can ensure that the whole board has access to it and we do something about it now is that in the policy well if it's delivered requirement for us to get back to these people I don't know I don't know that it well first of all I know that it's needs to be the policy because if it's if it's board property everyone had has access to it
084sure right um now dis position that's a good that's a good question John you want to say something I was just what you just said about I think there's some issues that we've had the last couple years that something came forward and we didn't have a written statement about what occurred and we didn't quite follow through on what we wanted to follow through on so I think that's part of the reason we do this I'd like to say can if with the board's permission that we kick this back to the policy committee to try to address some of these issues and see if we can get a better draft and then then have a decision when it's flushed out sure absolutely yeah all right sorry to add we're going to KI this back one more
085time I do I don't understand the intent either I think anytime I'm kind of rear a little bit anytime we add a bureaucratic mechanism to encourage people to communicate in a public form hence goes against that encouragement of communicating in a public for we don't have that disorder now and I would be in favor of I mean essentially reiterated board policy 12:30 right everything that we're talking about that accountability mechanism and people's ability to come up here and talk is set so right there at 12:30 it gives the board president the ability to say I've had enough I won't hear anything further discontinue that ation you cannot talk about students you can't talk about employment histories Etc I discontinue that according to this board policy 1230 so I don't like the bureaucratic mechanism where it
086allows us to select if we have a room full of people want to talk about a hot button issue and it allows me to select which ones I'll hear from I I I don't it's not I'm not using this as an accusatory form to say you would do the wrong thing or anyone else do the wrong thing but it could allow the future once you put things in black and white it's very hard to retract this policy 6 s years from now when all of us will probably not be sitting here a different board with a different maybe the same audience or a different audience what I would say just very briefly I understand your hear me out sir is that I understand your accountability mechanism I understand that that this gives the opportunity to
087make sure people are responding to there's other mechanisms to do that if we had a full room of people that want to speak and if there's no I guess uh necessity or right that people have they don't have a right to come here and speak to the board we're allowing that right but I feel like adding this bureaucratic mechanism we're limiting that ability so what I would say is I'm not in favor of a policy that limit limits or re provides restriction rather we should be finding ways to enhance the ability to become and communicate and I guess they promote conversation versus the prom conversations between the taxpayer and the the public person to come here and have that courage to step up to the mic right now and and say what they want to
088say versus me have right down because I'll be honest with you Mr B I might not have the courage I mean we all we're all leaders here and we all speak publicly all the time right so we're semi comfortable with it I'm only shaking right now cuz this air conditioner blowing down it's horrible over here are you guys too hot over there it's nice over here we turned it up on purpose for you I it is it's horrible say you know and we're used to public speaking so but for the person that comes in here and they have an issue they want to talk to you about I I'd say it's pretty tough to step over to the mic and say something in a succinct Manner and probably less than 15 minutes don't Ramble On
089unless you cut them off but then those situations where we have say 100 people in here I think we have a type of form where I want more people in here I want this place to be packed because I want people to hear what you have to say and what Ed has to say etc etc and you want if I got SLE stats want I want a feel good story so other always criticism and complaint it's hey I was a football team and I saw a teacher do the right thing and I want to take 30 seconds to tell you all about it I I would welcome that however I got to go out rank that down I might think you know what this might not seem such the right place in time to say
090this I I I don't want to and it stifles me so I I again I don't want to I don't want to die on a hill on this issue right but at the same time I see bureaucracy where it's where it's not needed and I would I would strongly suggest if you do rewrite that policy remove any semblance of board board president uh there's a criteria board president decid filing him a piece of paper to say what I'm going to say all that need to be removed for me to say yes I I won't trying to influence the rest of you but but that would be my as I as I stand here now again I mean after thanks for letting me have that after Ed Mark listening to you guys talk about it I
091I understand your intent I mean that that I I get that I just don't know know if the wording of the policy reflects it okay so proper choices back to committee with you you sit on with me and and we we'll flush down and see where we go you know when we first talked about this at policy it was my first policy meeting and I had like a few things I wanted to say that and it really didn't flush out to me until I was driving home and then this is my second generation in talking about this so I before policy meeting and and my learning about you know I guess better better language I I will share with you that uh so in the past sitting at this situation with with a room full
092of people that may be upset about a circumstance where they do not and cannot have all the information due to Personnel uh restrictions right um and so sometimes it's important also to protect your staff in that sometimes people will come step up to the mic and by the time they get there they'll say something that they legally are not allowed to say uh so I've been here where whether is another teacher or an administrator someone came out and said something and said their name like oh that's not good you can't or even a student's name you can't have that so that's that's an example of where sometimes a process May prevent that ahead of time but but like you said we don't want to stifle voices either right so we want to make sure everybody's
093heard so documentation one of the hardest parts of an institution like this one is where people are afraid to take action because they don't want to get singled out sure whether it's a parent well I don't want to I don't want to say something to this to this teacher or to this administrator I don't want to get singled out and and we need to have a system to encourage people to be able to put something on paper bring it in so that if they don't want to step up to the mic they can at least have their concerns be voiced and I agree with that 100% I mean we have all sat in here and heard public and heard public comment that you know you know to to yall's point if people are getting up
094to speak they not only do they deserve our attention in a lot of cases they deserve a response where where we can give it yes yes yes um and you know the possibility of making the the the sheet um voluntary you know so for those people who maybe don't want to get up to speak but would really like to say something you know that is something that you know that I could look at if the idea is having that accountability of the board to respond to you then that should be reflected in the policy um I said just way way too open at for me and I appreciate you guys going back to the policy committee and taking another look at it okay add two things like you touched on earlier about coming up and
095saying personnel's names or students saying they can write whatever they want on a piece of paper and then they're going to go up there and if it's on their mind to say it even though they're wrong but that's that's I think that was what the intent of of the document was to be able to to be able to have the conversation with the person ahead of time look this is what you want to talk about you you can't you can't mention the person right you can do that still give them the opportunity to go go to the podium but Ed because they don't they may not know that they can or can't do that right and so that's a way to kind of help help them uh voice their position sure uh so it's not
096about stifling right and again the board would should get all the information y but this position has the privilege to shut down an extended public session by the position right because this is this is a meeting of the board that happens to be witnessed by the public it's not a meeting for the public yep right there's two different things so but yeah back to that's why we have two reads yeah the other the other thing it does is it also protects the board to know who it is that's feeling the way they do so I'll give you an example when I was at um Lake George we used to do the um donkey basketball okay and um when we had a board meeting and the people a number of people went crazy about the donkey
097basketball but knowing that the people who were going crazy about donkey basketball all lived in the Glenn's fall School District not the Lake George School District made that that that session a little move we listen to him okay then Lake George people were like this is a tradition we've done this it's a a great fundraiser and everything else now even though the Glenn's Falls people did it we Ram donkey basketball that year we did look for a different fundraiser in the future because we knew it was going to become a bigger show because some of our parents heard that the Glenn Falls people were there and came in and told the administration you know what we've always been uncomfortable with it but we we don't want to go before the board because there are some
098bullies in the booster club that we don't want to expose ourselves or our children to so then we knew that we were having some sort of unhealthy environment both the administration and the board and then after that we went on to some other fundraising event quietly without creating a you know devices then but the the people who were coming to us and complaining were not Lake George residents they were Glenn Falls residence same thing whiteall had an issue the other year and the people who were coming to them weren't even from the county I mean they were coming from down in connected and Saratoga and by looking at these things when it's time to do the response it was a group that was going from school to school to school to create habit no and
099this way they still had their public comment still had their time but you weren't going to waste your time when you didn't see that any of the residents were whiteall residents so for Patti went through this meeting miserable it was covered by the news but in the end it wasn't his community that felt that way and we were able to document that not we Pat so that that's sort of some of the things that you're doing too by understanding who who it is in your crowd so for example we got our therapy dogs we love them it's one of the most awesome programs I've seen in in in many districts the people who come in the dogs you know the way the kids react to them the the the retired teachers they they guide them
100it's awesome and they're actual therapy dogs and they're handled appropriately the way they're supposed to be handled by handlers and everything now all of a sudden Peter came in and said you know dogs shouldn't be working they shouldn't be in school exposed to kids and we don't know that it's not our people and it's a group that came up from New York City we might say oh my gosh look at this what what happened but no and I know be that small enough that you would know hey those aren't our people but at least you could document who they are and if it is any of our community that feels that way so that's part of why you do it too so you're reacting to the right things or you're also taking a poll half
101the people believe one thing half the people believe the other I know that when I was in Ford Edward three years ago they were they were doing the information about public meeting about the thing and we were getting the slips and the slips were about 6040 and in some nights they were in favor of merger but you can tell because the four or five people that occupied the mic called our board president a cockroach that did crazy things started reading maritime law because we had a river between the two school districts we only connected by a bridge and God knows what none of the none of the people who felt One Way dared to get up to the mic because of the bullies that occupied the mic but if we didn't collect those sheets we
102wouldn't have known there was another group out there but if you went by the conversations at the mic there was only one thought one voice so that that's sort of why it's done but we're going to go to policy committee we'll look for a way to secure that you know people are heard that you know it's the president you know president and the clerk collect them there's no reason other board members can't be involved with you know moving the papers around I know and and I know that Ed's not going to do that I know that you guys are not going to do that but you are worried about you know the successors 10 years down the road turning get in to something it was not going to be so we'll try to clean it
103up if not we'll leave what you at and let someone else clean it up down the road later so as this is would be like a this would be the third reading no on basically this second reading gets tabled y so it's not going to get approved you're you're striking it you know policy whatever just like just like you don't see the second reading because it won't be the second reading for the student whatever the handbook because that whole thing is going to go through the whole process from sup to nuts with all the right committees and we're just going to adopt that on the regular timeline in July can we uh can we make that a standalone item on the next agenda if we have more than one policy um yeah I not sure
