001good okay i'm gonna call the meeting to order so much i pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all [Music] all right so we're going to start with our public hearing on this budget for the 2021-2022 school year um and we're going to start that with mr hartford go ahead okay all right so we'll get into this it's gonna look very similar in terms of uh format from when we did just about two months ago at this point let's start with our budget goals again we're expanding upon safety initiatives including social emotional supports again one of the things that we had discussed before was bringing on the sro i know we've done some
002stuff with this social justice uh social workers and stuff they're maintaining the current academic programming and continuing to expand on our educational opportunities i know they've discussed it very thoroughly in a number of board meetings and the stuff we're getting ready to bring on um stuff that you guys had approved as far as extra classes and things like that connecting with parents families attendance at risk factors again i think the communication i've only been here a couple of years i think communications got much better with parent squared a number of other items that have been implemented and updating and maintaining the physical and i.t infrastructure a lot of that software and stuff that we saw come from the pandemic is likely going to become a mainstay and of course you know it's people have received
003with the um post garden stuff and everyone's aware from last meeting with the capitol project that's coming up start with the revenues you can see our state sources are 65 percent and just under 51 million dollars total i'm sure many people received a postcard in the mail somewhat recently and it's the overall message is very good we are in a good spot and this is something that we're probably not going to see again with the amount of aid that is is coming the numbers that were put on there are a little bit i mean they're straight from the eight runs which aren't always going to line up um it's kind of creative just a couple mine items like from last year that you know a very similar thing happened and we were x percent i
004think 10 is what we were put at last year but when you look at say last year's upk and this year's upk which aren't included in this general fund budget it somehow got marked as zero for the year before and then all the way up to 3.5 last year then when you look at this year's runs it takes that 3.5 that we were at and knocks it down to 2.4 back up to 3.5 so you can see there's some creative accounting kind of in there with some of that stuff another one to remember is that the pandemic adjustment that we received last year was another couple of million dollars boces aid they gave us the base eight amounts in the state run but never incorporated the amount that we would receive from the capital project
005so while again the overall message say on a postcard was spot on and we are in a good spot the numbers aren't uh i don't think they're really truly reflective so 45.5 million you know that's our basic formula stated excuse me and a lot you're going to see about three and a quarter million increase in the foundation aid level and i'll go through that in a couple of slides now at the full phase in of foundation aid but we should be there within the next three years and then the other chunk of that another big chunk of that state sources would be the boces aid which is 3.76 million fun dollars you know that's kind of our checking account [Music] okay here i'm just going to be sure um real property taxes 17 million a
006little over 17 million there which would be a 1.8 percent increase federal sources it's really illustrated a little bit better for changes in the next slide which shows our variance here so you can see the state sources are up 4.3 and largely from that increase in foundation aid coupled with the removal of the pandemic adjustment property taxes are up the 300 000 which would reflect the 1.8 percent increase or other revenues and reserves those go down a little bit that's our pulling from our use of reserves so that's a good sign appropriated fund balance again we're trying to chip away at the unrestricted we need to get down to that four percent state level but we also have that double-edged sword of needing to obtain financing for capital projects as we have one currently with
007the short-term financing and a bond anticipation note and then as we also go we'll be going to van as well for the capital project assuming that gets through so you just want to kind of balance the two because banks would like to see cash on hand in order to get us a better interest rate versus the state's requirement of the four percent you'll see the federal sources there going down the 2.35 which would have been the cares act that isn't there although we've yet to even realize half of that so here's how the foundation it works if you look in the purple box over here our total foundation this is what we should be getting if we were receiving our full allocation based off of their calculation 46 just over 46 million dollars 34.1 is
008what we received or slated to receive this year as you can see this is nothing new i know it's been a point of contention for many years about getting us up to the level where we should be and this year that was some of the great news that actually came through with the with the governor's run is that if you look over on this side in order to get that calculation there they have a number of different phase and factors for us and we're the small city school districts so ours is at a 0.27 and then to get that number they ended up with the total foundation aid minus our allocation our in base for this year and then they multiply that times the phase in factor or the phase in percentage which gets us
009to the 21 22 increase so you can see they took the 46 million the total foundation minus our eight base and then multiply it by our small city school district phasing factor so that's where the 3.25 comes from and then the next two years they're going to take that 46 million which is where our full where the calculation that would be our full funding for foundation aid they're going to subtract the payable which is this line which would be the 21 22 the 37.3 and then they're going to split the difference over 22 to 23 and 23 24 which would be another you know just under 4.4 in the next two years which would get us up to that full 46 by the time 24 hits it'd be around 41 and three-quarters million next year
01022-23 sorry one thing to remember is this kind of assume that all of our inputs into the foundation a calculation would remain the same stuff like the combined wealth ratio goes more off of the district certification count that one does used to be often free and reduced but with cep you know we're not getting um it's not a very accurate picture because of you know with everybody getting free lunch we may not get all of the applications back this just kind of shows i came in at the tail end of 19 so this is where i kind of started tracking i will dig in and i want to get this up on the website a more comprehensive look at least back 10 years but you can see that our proposed increase of the 1.8 is
011the lowest percentage and the lowest dollar amount over the last few years that we will be seeking so that's where our money comes from and this is where it goes so you have your instruction is that 43 which one would expect i mean we are a school district so that's going to be the bulk of our expenses there and you know benefits make up a huge chunk uh just under 27 percent service that's all of our data on the capital projects that we currently um currently have are boces cost is up there seven and a half million anticipated transportation is at four percent and operations and maintenance is just under eight percent the transfers and general support end up with just under uh two percent you know kind of go through those here you can
012see it's kind of difficult for me to put i couldn't get the numbers on here because of how much stuff is on here but the dark purple would represent a decrease in any of the light purple um would represent an increase so this is a waterfall chart as you see it'll start at the zero and then it kind of fluctuates up and down based on the variance so year over year the decrease is going to be just under just under 1.6 million dollars and fosus being the largest one and that's just because the capital project's now over with and the other large largest chunk would be the maintenance and operations and that's because we had that loader for this year that we just purchased and you know hopefully we're going to see a little bit
013of increase in some of the supply materials and supplies as far as sanitizing goes and included in there will be our capital outlay project which would be the redundant water heater at case middle school on to instruction you see a year over year increase just under a million dollars or i guess 937 000 and your biggest jumps are going to be on your instruction regular school and that's going to be the after school programs uh being reimplemented the additional ways that we brought on to help out with some of that social emotional stuff and everybody getting back into the groove the sro i know we had discussed smart board replacements and you see there the program's the next largest chunk will be for students with disabilities and that's largely going to be due to the
014boces anticipated enrollment that we're going to have there in the corresponding teaching numbers on their side of things see some of the decreases would be what your cai your computer assisted we just finished up with that well we're still in the process of upgrading everybody to windows 10 over the windows 7 i know jeff just sent something out this week they had i think it was 300 that they've taken care of already and they still have to do work on all the new computers that can actually handle windows 10 a lot of them can't athletics a lot of stuff there supplies have been purchased in advance and then the sports season never happened and so we already have some of that stuff available this is kind of everything else transportation and undistributed you see on
015the trans side the year over year increased just over two hundred thousand dollars you know some return to normalcy and field trips summer school sports that type of stuff we should in addition to the normal contracted increase so that stuff should be in there and the employee benefits is the big one 1.8 over last year again this stuff is all very similar to when we first went over the budget um in a board meeting the health and health health insurance increase of uh one percent just don't feel that we've seen the full impact covered yet a lot of elective procedures i think we're put on hold doctor's office is closed pushed out just all of that kind of stuff i think is going to add up and probably come to fruition this year our ers
016up about two percent and trs is up about 0.3 and we also have embedded in there is going to be the reserve contributions which allow it to two percent of the salaries i think we were that was in it right about 425 000 to 450 000 in there and medicare reimbursements are up three percent um you know that's huge when i was looking at our health insurance today actually we got the bill just looking at the number of employees i think we were currently inactive and then when you looked at our retirees we were well over 400 on the insurance side of things so that's a big chunk of of the budget it was just under it was what 26 plus percent and here you see all of those kind of combined and as you're
017looking at it you might wonder well he just told me on the last slide it was 1.8 or 1.83 million versus the 1.75 and the prior slide is how it's kind of shown in the three-part budget but as you look at this is the categories in the district the variance would be over there in a boces side of things over on the far right side again we went through the benefits kind of with the one one percent there being the big big thing in instruction you see that increase again isn't going to line up with the other one because some of that stuff will be pulled out and put into the boces which if you remember from the general support was a much larger chunk of the decrease and it's slowly getting smaller as we
018move some of those positives over from instruction and employee benefits and we're also looking at the chromebook you know we have to start factoring in obsolescence when it comes to all of our technology and really a lot of our physical infrastructure as well so i know we're looking at the chromebooks and starting to rotate maybe 25 of those in and around and then just the you know operations and maintenance we touched on that that was the loader primarily and then the boces again mostly from the capital project but again you've seen that go from a much larger truck and a prior slide to a smaller one and that's some of those increases that you've seen over in the benefits instruction in a lot of our software um even some of the ca uh the computer-aided
019computer assisted instruction stuff will be included in there with chromebook replacements this is just a copy of the budget postcard that would be in the newsletter did anyone get the newsletter all right so that made it out and you'll see it on the six day notice as well which is ready to go we just have to wait until may 12th to sum that out when you look at the you know i did put a copy of it in here but your text when you look at the one that kind of tells you what the proposed increase would be now granted most of this is uh you know our equalization rates and the property values and your true values are all based off of 2021 but you're most likely looking at about i think 18 to
02031 cents is what's the proposed increase per thousand so any questions if anybody thinks of some i don't know how can we do that we also have that let me stop this one this is up on the website if you go to the the watertown website and under business office on the left-hand side you see the drop down there's budget 2122 which will bring you to this slide similar to last year this runs through microsoft power bi it's the highlights here our overall budget increase of 1.37 i believe percentage-wise i think it's 1.78 but if anybody wants to see all of the detail is in here if you look at say this ribbon chart and just kind of right click on it show that appointments table and it'll pull up all of the numbers that
021make up the one on the chart and then you can just kind of filter that however you want to so you can see there the big drop in boces because capital wasn't included and you can just really run through and get the additional detail on any of this stuff then if you didn't want to go as far as going through the chart at the very end it's just a data dump and there's every single line item in there is there a way to check for questions on here thank you so if anyone in the public has any questions on the budget they should email our business manager we'll certainly get back to you to answer your questions i have a motion please to come out of our public hearing proposed budget and enter into our
022regular schedule busy thank you second michael yes i don't have any agenda changes per say i did update the personnel report monday morning there is an addition to permanent appointment fresh copy okay thank you are there any public comments no communications i have one communication from an email today from the jeff lewis school board association the virtual presentation that is coming up wednesday may 26th guest speaker is christy andrus mcconnell she is an executive leadership coach and founder of the human factor she has over 25 years experience working with organizations and key decision makers on knowing and growing their most important asset people in addition to her work across u.s and canada with business and public sector on hiring and retaining great staff she's a special professor of social services and as a national training
023consultant that is again wednesday may 26th it is virtual and if anybody is interested i can take your name this evening or sometime what time is that start at 5 pm 26. and it is open to others beyond the board members strangers that's anything to add on that because i know you're on that just school boards no i think that pretty much covers it but you know the more people who participate better okay please let michelle know if you would like to attend thank you moving on to board and staff reports we have mr chad fairchild the principal warrenton high school and the vice principal and rachel larson i am the culture coordinator thank you for joining us you are here to talk about graduation yes and some other things all right i will try
024to talk nice and loud through the mask thanks for having us here tonight uh we normally would go the normal rundown of what's going on in high school and what our stats are but we thought it would be very important to share with you what the end of the year looks like for us uh as a high school and what plans we have so that you could be uh in the know and if they're we're shooting a miss you can let us know all right so we basically thought that would break it down into two two parts uh first uh senior focused events that we're doing uh for the remainder of the year and then full school type events for this uh conclusion of the school year and perhaps into the summer so starting us
025off here uh aaron we'll share a little bit about our first senior focused event or one of our first ones tomorrow so again thank you for having us two of our students so our first event for seniors is starting tomorrow and these are the signs the yard signs that the district purchased for each and every senior this year um we were able to um solicit uh 26 of our volunteers or our staff and faculty to um deliver these signs to our students uh tomorrow um it really worked well last year it really gives that personal touch to deliver them right to their door it helps us connect not only with our hybrid but our students that have been virtual this year and really enables us to congratulate them in person and really get them excited
026about graduation um so right now we have about 230 graduating seniors that are going to meet that goal of graduation uh requirements uh between june and august this summer so we're really excited to kick that off tomorrow then the next uh exciting thing for our seniors is we kind of kind of lump some different activities together and we're kind of doubling in the senior weekend so in june uh actually rachel helped with all this planning uh on june 12th our seniors are going to go to six flags durian lake we were talking throughout the winter about different options for them and once we saw that theme parks were going to be open we said oh they will enjoy that much better than the other options that we've been talking about and one of our big
027desires and rachel could certainly speak to this is she's been doing it for the last four years is she wanted all of our seniors to be able to go for free on their senior trip and we are going to be able to have all of our seniors go for free zero cost of pick pocket for all 238 seniors or 30 seriously it changes it changes periodically uh can go for free uh so we're looking forward to that for them yeah with a meal transportation meal and rollercoaster rides very exciting and togetherness uh then the following monday which would be june 14th is our class day celebration if it's not raining that day we're going to have all of our seniors together outside a cobia friendly outdoor environment and we're going to be throwing frisbees around
028listening to music doing cornhole any number of cool fun outdoor activities with them and have a picnic lunch outside uh spaced out of course and then we're gonna come inside and spread out the auditorium your traditional class day video presentation although historically our class day video presentations from the whole school but we're not going to have the whole school there we're just going to have the seniors there themselves to celebrate this we also this is a tradition to have some of our very talented musical seniors write a piece of music for the class day presentation and this year philip mara has already written one for us so they're going to perform that for us on class day and then we'll probably tell them whenever we finish that they should just go home and have a
029great afternoon that day and that's belabor the day for them but just have a really great day for our seniors together um at the evening uh one of the things that we wanted to really talk to our seniors about because with the size of our class and the restrictions that the state has put on us having a regular prom is like just it wouldn't look regular no matter what we did with the numbers that we have but we said hey we could do maybe some type of alternative activities with you here's some thoughts and uh i went and talked with the different groups of seniors and said what are your thoughts here's the restrictions here's our numbers here's other people's numbers around the area this is why we have to look different but you tell
030us what you want and work out so we're really looking for the feedback from them and perhaps that evening we could do something for them if it's their desire to do something along those lines so that would be again that same weekend just a really big fun time for them to be together the other thing that we did that i think is very important to mention is that on one of our the bigger days uh it was our cyclone day that's when most of our the more kids end up being on cyclone day than a purple day so we went we uh went down to each of the launch periods of seniors we gave them their special space for their own lunches and said hey in each lunch period guys it's your graduation ceremony what's
031important to you this you can do this these are the restrictions that we have we're capturing 500 people because our venue is seats this many people according to guidelines that makes us a medium venue we could fit up to 500 people but not anymore at this point at that point you were counted as one of the 500 we could have this many guests if we do the math together how do you want to do this what's important to you and and they were very clear they said uh mr fairchild we want to be together with our friends like it is so so important to us and over each period it is so important for us mr fairchild that we're together like we do not want to have broken up we want to be together with
032our friends and graduate with our friends at the same time that's what's important to us so we think okay we think we can make the heaven for you will uh and we talked about what we would do for parents and maybe having parents and groups and the other piece that was really important to us was that we wanted the kids not to be able to have me have just like one invitee or something we're like that's just silliness like we've been waiting for this day for a lot of years for these kids and they've been waiting for it we want them to have some family there so how can we give every kid three to four it's for guests to be able to come how can we make that happen so we didn't think of
033a way that we could make that happen for even with the 500 restriction but last week we got this fabulous news the states uh loosened things up a little bit to hey if the students are on the field and everybody else is in bleachers those students don't have to count towards the 500 we're like yes that goes from four groups of attendees shuffling in and out with our students in the middle to two groups of attendees and we'll i'll run you through that process in just a minute um so we got some really good feedback from seniors and then we wait patty and i got this fantastic uh email yesterday from scott gray saying hey fresh off the press uh get for venues that are outside 500 or less the testing protocol where you have
034to have every person that's there in the venue tested within 72 hours or have a negative vaccination record or negative testing is no longer will not be in effect for your venue so that was fabulous because i think i almost danced in the office because that is going to be so much less of a weight to manage around that event so those are the conversations that we have with our students but the big picture we've had in our hearts and minds for about going to share with you that bigger picture of what we're what we're shooting for so chad and i had a lot of experience um trying to think outside of the blocks last year trying to plan graduation with um very restrictive copic regulations so we've used a lot of the ideas that
035were very successful for us last year a lot of feedback that we got from parents and staff and families about what they really enjoyed about what we did and we tried to incorporate some of those things that we did last year and planning for this year with less restrictions so some of the things that we're doing for graduation are a little non-traditional and traditional um so one of the things that's a little non-traditional for us this year is we're holding graduation on friday june 26th which is a little different than what they've done in the past years so graduation will be held on friday evening this year and we're also starting it with the parade that was very successful for us last year we got a lot of wonderful feedback from everybody involved so graduation
036um celebration will start on friday the 26th at 5 30 25 25 sorry the 25th at 5 30 with the parade we will be starting the parade at the same place you did last year with the samaritan medical complex um and all of the graduates will be in their vehicles with their four family members that are allowed in the graduation with them so each graduate will be in their vehicle with their four guests uh our colleague tom and amanda will be in charge of where the parade begins up with samaritan and that's where they have all their parts their cars decorated with coasters and streamers and the wash of hopefully washable paint all your markers thank you um and this year we can hopefully have the korean root line for last year we couldn't so
037any other family members or neighbors that want to lie in the street can do that as they come down washington street and turn into our campus um and so they will then uh be driven along uh to our parade route until they are dropped off right at the beginning of the turf where we are going to be lining that with a red carpet so that's something that was really important too hopefully we're getting red carpet um just to make our graduates feel even more special when they're dropped off um to walk into our graduation and so part of what the atmosphere that we want to create is just this excited party it's just we're celebrating you guys a big measure because it's been a really hard year for you so we are having the parade
038come down he'll go in front of cage around the end of the south end of the high school up behind the tennis courts on the extension road there for myrtle and then like she said we'll drop them off at the back end of the turf of our field there and give them the royal treatment as they go in the parents will then continue or whoever's in the car driving it back will pull back around onto green street and we'll have traffic people there letting them in uh back into the line if there's still people going in because we have to have a constant movement to be dropping people off so we can have a blockage there they will have in their dash we're going to have like if we still are where we currently are
039they'll have to have like a one or two or a or a z so there are people can say hey you're in the first half of the alphabet and you're going to park over here you're in the second half park will have staffing members as if we're a concert when you go to concert and the parking lots have all the staffing people right this way right there next spot all right next spot right next spot people directing uh where people are to walk to and it will be two groups uh so the those the students will be there in the center the whole time for the graduation ceremony and their parents their group their four people invitees will have their cards and if they're in the first half of the alphabet however that divides for
040the total number of 230 students that are graduating the first half the first 115 is 230 right their group gets to go in and for the first half and they will get to watch their child uh son daughter granddaughter deputies whatever their relationship is get to walk the stage get their diploma shake hands maybe as long as these sanitize between or have gloves on or eggs uh take some pictures we'll have a professional photographer there already uh reach up to them have a professional photographer there to have pictures online for them also have a spot for uh where they can take pictures and erin tell them about a very cool idea that we have so normally outside of a high school we have a huge banner traditionally hung outside that says you know watertown high
041school and that's a great spot for our families to take pictures afterward we're also going to have that banner hung off to the side where they can also a family member can come down and take pictures as they cross the stage and also we're going to have that spot decorated where they can also take pictures there and then after we always have families that linger and take pictures and group photos and things like that um they will also have that opportunity to do so as well we really want families to have the time to create some memories and to capture those memories on this very important day for their students um we so when the parents are in there or the families are in there with their group uh we'll have them go in one
042way we'll have them about the other we'll take a probably i'm guessing it'll be a 20 minute to half an hour uh musical interlude where we play some interesting some fun music some upbeat live stuff we have one group leave and the other group will come in a different way film the seats the bleachers will be labeled probably with painters tape with different colors so that the first group gets the blue painters safe than the other because the green painters taper music has some different colors painters tape so they know where to sit they sit in their sections um it would be a straight alpha meaning historically we have had uh society goes first and things like that and the balance they'll speak first this year will be straight alpha so that we avoid confusion
043i do not want parents standing outside and we've done it in a different way oh is your kid down now what's your last name you're a z how come you're drawing now or should i be in the right spot i don't want i don't want that confusion so it's just going to be a straight alpha the will speak when it's their alpha part of the alphabet when it comes to their turn they will have they will give their speech at that time so that their family will be there for their piece of it uh in each circumstance so anytime that we have something going on it will be the alpha their family and guests will be part of them um we will have running board trucks there they will be in the parking lot the
044designated parking lot so if it's not my turn i'm fair child when the first half the second half time out got to see my kid walk across we took pictures it's wonderful i'm outside now if i get to watch on the big screens from the running board trucks because we'll have some of the different designated parking areas i get to watch the rest of the ceremony pick my kid up afterwards make sure that in the live streaming the running board's already been down to our campus let's talk to mike chanley and uh maybe dave campbell about uh connectivity how to make sure that we can live stream and do it well uh without with hopefully no glitches are very easily quickly fixed ledges if we have them um and just make that happen for our
045parents and the live stream for anybody else that can't be here also with only four invites other family members will probably be around there in town and that's where we want to have them lined on the sides of the road uh during us i gave you all i didn't get it a very difficult to press stress ball here now you'll see if you press it just right it has an opening here to put on these lovely purple chairs that we do have about 250 of them in the various buildings uh if i add them all up and ship them all over which i will and i wanted you to see this that one have a toy to mess with at the table because you can't beat the high school and that's a lot of things
046and two so that you know the level of detail that we're paying attention to because these go on here and we even were very careful about which size we got in which cut del nine now came to me weeks weeks and weeks ago chad doing this on turf yeah no no you can't well you can but we got to pay attention because we just redid the turf and spiky things break turf like it's true you're right and we paid tens of thousands of dollars to have the turf redundant let's do some research though figure it out so delhi did some research and we found that if you can get these this is probably the least expensive and reusable solution there are other many very expensive solutions but this will very much protect their turf pokemon
047so there's all these little details that we're paying attention to bathrooms and how we're staffing them for those that are there drinks because it might be a hot night and i'm having our booster club help out but i wanted that just to be kind of like a tangible thing so that you know there's a lot of a lot of little details and we're trying to work through them we have a lot of great people like now like aaron like tom that are just thinking outside the box what are all the things that we're not thinking about that we need to be thinking of so that's it for graduation all right so now whole school events so our other school events that we're also paying attention to and need to plan besides graduation activities are events
048that involve our other students and one of them is our national honor society induction and because of cope with restrictions we were not able to have an induction last spring for those um our seniors that are graduating and our inductees for this spring we need to celebrate them as well so we're doing both of those things on june 9th so we are inducting our conducting from last spring and this spring together which includes almost 100 students so that's a lot to celebrate because that's a lot of high achieving wonderful students with great character great community service and that is something to celebrate what that means though is that if you think about inviting parents and people to celebrate those kids that um exceeds the number for inviting those people so it is just an in-house
049celebration that we are live streaming so we're doing it during the day on june 9th record it all and we're recording it and so we are celebrating those students on june 9. we are also um going to announce the scholar junior scholarship winners at that time because we are also not holding an additional award ceremony like we typically would because of our restrictions um other events going on we will be hosting before required regents exams and overall hands-on deck for those days uh in our building uh and then lastly summer school uh when we sat down in guidance halfway through the year and we were sitting with stacey tuna saying okay here's what we have going on at the high school we know that so the half year mark we looked in our seniors they
050were within five percent of them doing as well as they had done historical three-year historically over the years meaning you would expect that many more might not be passing but the seniors were within five percent of historically what year what was happening each year but as you got younger more and more students were not much higher percentages were not being as successful with the online learning model or the hybrid learning model so we decided that we did very much lead to summer school and it needed to be in person in person summer school so we've been planning that stacey's been a huge help to us andy and josh trying to make that happen uh we are recruiting uh we are still recruiting we have a good number of social studies teachers we have a decent
051number of english teachers thanks you're wonderful teacher with just a certain number i could use another one or two maybe but i think we might come pretty close that number uh math features we still need i'm we have done we are doing due diligence we have recruited personally knocked on gone and talked to each of the staff members that we do that high school dr case middle school in person reached out to people that have talked for us in past years individually uh and then we've sent messages out to each of the local principals of the local school saying hey if you're not using anybody for take what you need for yourself first of course but if you don't have need for somebody in these areas please pass this information off and send them our
052way and we've actually recruited i think we're up to maybe four or five i'm up to four or five student staff from other districts so we're doing pretty well with that but our goal is to have in-person uh summer school vote for as many slots that we can have for students we will be sending an email out to parents tomorrow assuming a parent square message tomorrow telling them inviting them to begin the process with a sign up and we'll be moving forward with our guidance department reaching back out to those families based on what's available for that we the student needs and what we have to offer for in-person summer school and so that will be july 6th and we'll carry on for 30 days 15 days for each session it will be from 8
053in the morning to 2 30 in the afternoon and there will be no reasons because there are no reasons again but we will have a graduation ceremony most likely for those that are questions thoughts comments sounds awesome i'm excited to see it all play out thank you so much excited and rachel is now your turn uh she has helped us in many areas as a senior class advisor as well as we don't need another first i'm good okay don't worry so my name is rachel marston i am during the day of the film employment teacher at watertown high school after two o'clock 2 30 i am the alternative education coordinator for our task program at high school um so i'm here today to talk about tasks um just kind of give you guys a little
054update unfortunately i wasn't able to come last spring coven knocked us out so we weren't able to give you an update so um this year i did lose a teacher they wanted to step down which happens a lot but um i was able to bring on a math teacher uh drew burgess who's new to the staff at watertown high school and he has joined us to do math um i have amber mizucolo who does history one day week with the kids comes in two days a week kind of helps us out with whatever subjects we need karen maker runs five days a week alongside of me as the coordinator it's hard for me to always be there with the kids so i have to have somebody else there five days a week with me to
055help and sometimes normal year i need two classrooms due to sizes this year a little different but it's still nice to have somebody else two teacher teachers there while i will deal with other coordinator things that i have to do some days um we uh drew one day mickey cole helps us with science one day a week currently i'm 12 students enrolled my numbers are down this year um obviously virtual is a option for everybody and more students are sticking to that option this year through it so it has brought down a little bit it's okay those kids are 17 to 20 years old we do take students until they are 21. once they turn 21 they go over to boces stop taking them last year we take them until they're 21. ship them up
056over there if they haven't succeeded by them um two students who are 16 years old so that means they have to do three hours a day with us compared to the other students who have two different age um in 12 hours i have 10 iep students i have noticed over the last few years my iep numbers have increased drastically which is okay again i live special edge we take them all and they've actually they do very well with the one-to-one setting a little bit more successful than the bigger classroom studies i have two students who have tested this year in past due to cobin our local testing center is shut down it's very unfortunate um but i've had people out of county it's taken some research on our behalf but onondaga county took my two
057students and they were able to go down when we had to spike this winter unfortunately we had to stop because they were taking up county residence which i understood so kind of the latest but they tested in march past very successful and we're happy for them um i had one who recently graduated due to a new regulation that was put in place by the state um so this student had all their regents credits and normally when you have all your region's friends you still have to do two sections you get to pick great i mean who doesn't want to take what they get to do um so this particular student was getting ready to enroll in an exam and got a lovely piece of paper in the mail that says congratulations you're done and did
058nothing so the state put this coping guideline in place and stacy and i have been working hard to uh hopefully get a couple more students that i have that fall and make this guideline that same particular diploma without having to set foot to a test they're giving them free pass let's give it to our kids and get them out of there and on to the next step in life um then i unfortunately i've had 16 students drop out this year due to various reasons my drops are higher than i like or have had in the past but it's the times we're in unfortunately right now so we're doing pretty well though i feel um so before coven hit in the spring of 2020 we were having a very successful year um we had about five
059students were on track to apply for the test in the spring i even had one who had literally turned in the paperwork two days before we shut down and was ready to go in april um unfortunately that particular student wasn't able to test that so we've taken a method of i've broken the exam because there's five sections as i was explaining with my staff and i do each subject each staff member gets a day mondays english tuesdays math and so on and i found that this has worked out very well for our students um pinpointing a certain subject today not trying to hit multiple subjects or just doing this you have a specific teacher you're the math teacher it's helped them and friday's like our catch-up day we do anything um that they haven't finished
060and i found that by doing this the students are more prepared for the exam we're able to get them in more successful less likely to come back well i failed a section or two oh i passed it all the first time that's the goal we want them to pass the first time succeed and not have to come back so copen was hard on our students in terms of getting them online doing the work in the spring when we shut down as i'm sure several of us have seen last spring um it says coming back in the fall it's been just as hard to get them back in the classroom and refocus to where they were in the spring before we shut down but we've been working very hard and getting them in there um due
061to our location and group size again we are a smaller group um for those of you who don't know i operate out of the library classroom in the high school and like i said normally i have another room but this year we've taken advantage of the library in the spacing we socially distanced the students in the library classroom with the colored dots that the high school has and if they're more comfortable or we have too many they go out into the library utilize the library spaces and we are able to properly social distance to students and having them all in person much like our students during the day they have to do a health screening before entering the classroom they have to take their temperature if they don't use the office we have our own
062form very much just took the parent square one turned it into our own google form and they fill that out for us every single day so we have that as well at the end of class they standardize their areas before leaving this year we switched to full google classroom much like the rest of the district we operate fully on that in the event that we shut down again which we did this winter um and due to that when we transitioned right into the shutdown for those three weeks in january it was a very smooth transition for our kids we posted what the expectations were here's your zoom link get on it was requirement they got on they did the work and they were able to just slide right into it unlike last great where we
063struggled with it a little bit so we were more successful for the three week shutdown than we were last spring so that was nice to see them being able to transition easily and then back into class would be open back up looking ahead to next year i'm hopeful that our local testing center will open back up so it'll be easier to get more students into the exam um traveling is hard for a lot of students it's hard to get into class let alone onondaga county or wherever else i can get an exam so we can have it locally that would be more beneficial to our kids so i'm hopeful that we can continue to see a decrease in covenant and get that back open um i'm also anticipating and increasing my enrollment numbers next fall
064and we're hoping to be able to get back to volunteering a big thing about the program is you have to work or volunteer we normally do the food for families we pick a month or two and go over and stuff the bags each week and kids love it they love seeing us over there it's something that we've absolutely missed this year and i'm very hopeful that next year we'll be able to go back and help um as well as having we have the workplace come in and talk to the kids i've had army recruiters come in and talk to the kids we even had somebody from jcc coming to talk to the kids i want them to know their options when they get done that just because they're getting their test diploma doesn't mean you
065have to go you can go on like there's college there's all this so we like to have those people come in and get that experience for the kids and we're hopeful next year that we can have some of those um visitors come back and share that information with the kids and any questions i have curiosity do you have any like recruitment strategies that you use for the kids that drop out to kind of hopefully get them to come back in again um guidance is pretty good about trying to catch them if they see that they're not you know they're not going to be successful we can't we don't really push it on them we just they can offer it to them hey here's another option that you might be some of my kids maybe behavior
066issues within the high school and they're more successful in the smaller setting because there's less distractions less people to get or maybe that is the people that they're empty along with aren't there and it's i found that i don't have as many issues um so it's more guidance um in word of mouth i've had some kids come because their friend is in the program and they're telling them how successful they're being hey man you should come do this like look what i'm doing so sometimes just the word of mouth as a kid i've had a couple kids recently re-enroll who were dropped last year because they're trying to go in the military and they have to have this to get in hey can you help me yeah come on back you know i'll help you
067get there you got to do the work too it's it's boring so guidance and word of mouth and just sometimes the drive that they finally figured out what they want to do and they need this so thank you anybody else thank you so much for joining us and sharing everything with us hey items for consent agenda jason any discussion all in favor any opposed motion carriers items for board action whereas in recognition of staff appreciation week and whereas the watertown city school district would like to recognize all of our staff for their service in creating an environment that is safe supportive and helping our students navigate the endless challenges and changes associated with the copen 19 pandemic and whereas our staff have continued to encourage and support students in developing skills that will help them

076in favor any opposed motion cares the result that upon the recommendation of the superintendent of schools patricia b labara board of education hereby including retirements resignation appointments permanent permanent part-time spring coaching girls i get a motion please resulted in an agreement as per the attach between the waterfall city school district and magellan federal incorporated for certain military and family life consultant services for the 2021 22 school year is hereby approved can i get a motion please susie in a second jason thank you we actually include the rest of this year because uh fort drum switched their company in the middle of the year so it's beyond the 20 to 122 it's also starting now okay into 21 22. okay they just changed their their firm midway through the year so can we just change that
077to reflect the remainder of this year and including 21.22 and can you just give us a little background on who magellan is yeah they're actually uh we have nothing to do with them before drum seeks out um a service that hires our military family link consultants and so they switched midstream this year to a new company and we were fortunate enough to keep the one in what that we have originally there was a little bit of you know the waiting period to see if the new company would take on the impact that we had but they did and then it was just a matter of working through uh logistics because we do require um when our legal team reduces contracts um they're a little bit different from like what a government entity versus the school
078and so for example we had to make sure that there were things that were um and compliance that were included so it just took us a little while we just did it with the other company and then turned around and they switched course right in the middle of the year okay anybody else have any questions on that all in favor aye any opposed motion carries resolved in an agreement by in between rensselaer colombia and green counties boces also known as questar 3 for certain internal audit services for the 21 22 school year is hereby approved can i get a motion please michael in a second jason thank you any discussion all in favor any opposed motion carries result that a donation of save around on books has been made to faculty and staff at case
079middle school north elementary ohio elementary sherman elementary starbuck elementary and knickerbocker elementary this donation is an honor teacher appreciation week and is gratefully accepted and approved and will be acknowledged i in writing motion please excuse me in a second any discussion is that all of those or is it only going to select those things i think it's almost so everyone built water until the high school yeah and i'll reach out to them tomorrow just to follow up michelle and i talked about that just before the evening okay thank you anybody else all those in favor any opposed motion carries the resolution okay superintendent of schools report like to start off by thanking mr fairchild ms king for being here tonight and rachel marson for giving us an update on everything that they've been working through
080um they've done an incredible job as you can see even down to the last little details of things to take care of so i'm looking forward as we proceed in the next couple of weeks and as the state kind of eases up on some of the guidelines it may give us opportunities to be able to but we've already changed the plan a little bit as time has evolved because some of those guidelines were less restrictive i'd like to echo the resolution that michelle read earlier for staff appreciation week and when we think about all of the different events we have bus driver appreciation and administrative professionals appreciation day and nurses appreciation day and teachers appreciation week it's an all-inclusive staff appreciation week this week because we've just had so many people really over time but
081especially the past year and a half for a little over a year working in the pandemic has just been an extra stressor on a lot of people so we'd like to appreciate all staff this week really looking forward to thursday having our k-6 hybrids return in person but i would like to just kind of give you a heads up that we did receive a call this afternoon that we have some quarantines with first students so we just want to make sure that as we approach thursday you know right now we're okay with our busing staff but that's always been a concern for us since day one and so we're just going to keep you know continuing to monitor that tomorrow will be hard because it's a wednesday it's our last you know big remote wednesday
082day for k-12 and having our special ed students come in but thursday morning if we have any more quarantines or we have something that changes course um i've been working with charmaine at first student so for right now we're going to stay the course but keep our fingers crossed on that um thank you for approving may 28th as a snow day give back so we are going to have to probably do one more calendar change because the first of june um because when you look at the emergency days and the number of days we are bound to the 180 days but we do have a waiver from the state this year for the required number of hours which is a good thing but looking at the 180 days what that would mean for watertown high
083school would be june 15th would be the last full day for all students at the high school and then the four region stays and staff development would get them to their 180. in the k-8 the last student day would be june 21st and then the last staff day would be june 25th so that all students report for that 180 days but we will bring that up for final approval on june 1st but we'll be very clear that if there is an emergency day for whatever reason let's say we can't get bus transportation we have no options to get our kids to school here and we have to use an emergency day then that end of the year calendar will have to be adjusted so i'm putting it out there now to kind of say here's
084where i think we're going to be but that is subject to change we'll see where we're at as we get closer to june 1st stacey teen and i did that community informational meeting for the k-6 hybrid return back on april 22nd and then the principals did one on april 26 and there were very few comments um in the online form that we had asked people to schedule and i think there may have been four but some were duplicates and anybody that did put in a comment we made sure that we reached back out to them to answer their questions and as of last check there were no comments on the capitol so we'll just continue to keep that open until we get closer to the capitol capital project and anything that comes in will be
085sure to answer our book study on blind stuff blind spot continues to be going really really well and then we're also again involved in the book study with syracuse university on leadership with increasingly diverse schools and tomorrow i believe is our last session for that but what's really exciting is the author and the author of the book and facilitator um george theo harris he's going to be our keynote speaker for our staff development on may 21st so yeah so as it gets closer we'll make sure to send out the link to all of you in case you're able to just zoom in with us to see what that's like but i'm really excited because as we sit through these sessions we're learning a lot about diversity from a lot of different lenses you know tomorrow
086we'll talk a little bit about diversity uh with through religion last week it was about gender and the lgbtq plus so we're learning a lot about looking at diversity through a lot of different lenses and i think he's going to be able to provide a great overview for our staff in may to start to get us thinking for what we have outlined coming up the following year next school year uh mr huber was in and he has finished his phase two of the special ed audit and we reviewed it with him earlier this week and we've asked him to give us a prioritized list of his recommendations and then once we get a little bit closer then we'll have a more formal um i guess detailed explanation for all of you um and for the
087community as to the results of that audit okay a few more things here um we are continuing to work on our new website through final site and this is going to be launched on july 1st michelle and i also had a meeting and we've also talked about this for the past several years board docks and i think we are moving forward with this but i think what you see as a board with this is the opportunities i would suggest that you go on to indian river's website and go under board and look up some of their things this is the format that they use and it's so user friendly it's going to be great for the community i think back to a few weeks ago somebody called and asked to find something on the website
088in the board area and it was very difficult for them to maneuver through and figure it out this is not only great for the tool that it is but one of my fee there's a couple favorite features that i have but one was that you can the search bar right on that page so if you want to look up anything in particular say about graduation that the board has discussed in the last and we're going to archive it back as long as you know we can it will just pop up every board meeting instead of right now when you go to the website you have to click on each meeting and kind of look through each one um for review so um i think it's going to be a tremendous asset to all of us
089and we're really looking forward to it and i know michelle as district clerk is very excited about it because it's just the formatting of it is so much easier than what we're currently using so we're to come on that um the wellness committee finished up their um kindness challenge their staff kindness challenge although i think it's continuing it started last week and it was kind of just like a week-long event but it's still continuing where staff are writing out this kindness messages to one another and sharing them out with each other sports are going pretty well right now but i do want to mention i have a request and i wanted to get your feedback george hemorrhage has heard from ihc and they would they're requesting next year that we um consider combining um them
090with our wrestling team that we would be the team they would you know like we do with them for they're asking us if they could reciprocate george said our numbers have gone down quite a bit in wrestling because when we've had requests before and we've looked at some of the sports i recall the last time they requested to merge was with baseball we have so many kids that go out for baseball we didn't really have a lot of opportunity to be able to do that but with our numbers going um down in wrestling george talked it over with the wrestling coach jonathan bliss and we're asking for the board's blessing for next year that was something that you would consider you know approving for next year giving it a try i just wanted some feedback
091on that before i um because i know in the past we've said no but we've also been with bigger teams where we've had too many kids so how many kids do we have currently on wrestling do we have a ball card number i don't he said numbers were way down this year well that's the thing that we've always looked at is whether or not it's going to impact the playing time for our our students so that that would be an important number to know but isn't it but it's by weight class so it's great you know it's not helping out this goes being that it's that time so let's say ifc has a 109 kid and we have two 109s so they're going to have to wrestle off and that guy goes to the meet
092but that doesn't mean the other two can't compete they just don't compete for points um so it really you know i mean it's different it's not like a team is uh 14 kids it wouldn't restrict the opportunity yeah no i don't think you know that i think you should open it up and let it go but it might not be wrestling for points for the score for the team winner but if they're participating under their own colors they wouldn't have been well they're just gonna are they just gonna practice this or are they going to know what their request is it's one of those combining contracts so that they would like to combine with watertown based on the approval of each school board's board of education to compete in boys wrestling the document confirms the
093combination of the above two schools for athletic competition in the stated sport for the school year 2021 2022. so they would be part of the whs team just like our boys when they participate in hockey they play under ihc's card but you know wrestling is somewhat hybrid that it's an individual sport for teen points so they could actually travel wrestle under their own school but they would obviously need somebody to practice with and compete i'll follow up with george on your comments and then we this is just we have lots of time to talk about this this is just something that i wanted to bring up now to get some feedback and i can work with george a little bit more and then come back to you if not the next meeting one after with
094some more information but i can definitely get numbers for you that would be helpful too so josh and then brian and i are working with jason benedict mike james and kyle dean and they have sent us the final project for smart schools and i know that like james is working with jeff bristow who's the construction manager for construction associates and jeff has been going out and meeting with the building principals to look at the smart schools vestibules in each building and some of the principals are asking for some significant changes but we need to work with this plan was approved by state ed and so you can't make significant changes to the plan so we're working through those finer details in the upcoming weeks the emergency project for the hot water heater for case is
095expected to start tomorrow so that's great news moving right along on that hall of achievement we're making progress in that area too we're almost ready to order plaques we probably will be able to do that by the beginning of next week so more details to come on that as well last week i participated in three meetings all on the same day with voces one was to explore post-pandemic collaborative educational programming and lynn gaffney and her team shared out a lot of professional development ideas for next year things that will be offered locally to support education and kind of put different things in buckets with an overarching theme of the diversity equity and inclusion and then we are looking at an opportunity to work with fort drum and have a stem program that would be right
096out on base and looking at transporting our fifth graders it's a program aimed at fifth graders so we're just starting the ground level to see if it's even going to come to the base and if so um would we be interested so i'll give you more updates as we learn more about that and then later that afternoon we met with some people from some of our community partners and we're working through boces on community resources support to support schools moving forward and really looking at that transition for students who have been remote learners for the past year plus and what that transition will look like when they come back to school and then how can our community partners work to support that with programming through boces our diversity equity and inclusion strategic planning committee is
097working in small breakout rooms virtually right now every other week they're really narrowing down their work taking a look at our current strategic plan and taking a look at that through an equity lens and so we have a few more meetings and then they're going to present back their findings to us and then once we have their final suggestion we'll bring that back to the board to take a look at and then um really just the last couple weeks have been a little bit um interesting for me because i'm making more building visits now getting out more and just really checking in with kids i spent some time at sherman last week i was at starbuck this morning and i really couldn't venture down in the third and fourth grade hall because they were getting
098ready for math testing and i didn't want to disrupt that but i spent some time primarily in the kindergarten and first grade rooms and i think the kids are so excited to know that their their new friends are going to be joining up with them on thursday the excitement is pretty amazing um being back in the building and then when i'm in a remote class and online watching the kids through zoom it's just a totally different experience so it's kind of the best of both worlds where i get to see both and what's happening and so as we um bring more people that are pretending here in june i just want you to know that i'm going in just as a last visit before their final tenure approval and really just checking in and it's
099been quite fun and then finally i just wanted to really let you know that with the tragedy that happened in our community last week we have a lot of people that were impacted by that in many different areas and i just wanted to really thank our counseling staff building administration for all really working through there's so many different layers to this and so many different people that were impacted and i commend the entire staff for really working through and helping each other get through a horrific event and that is it for me thank you assistant superintendent for instruction so we are in uh day two or just finished up day two today of our new york state math um assessments administration um that was you know really day one of our cyclone cohort taking the
100exam and i just wanted to share some data with you about our ela assessment two weeks ago we obviously didn't have any state assessments last year so couldn't measure any opt-out rates and i know this year that our fully virtual students were excluded from assessments unless they opted in um but this year we had 100 i'm sorry we had 51 test refusals for the ela exam and that's compared to two years ago to 146 so even of the students who you know were here and present and able to take the assessment you um in a couple of weeks when all the makeups have been completed as well um also a little piece of data i shared with you uh several weeks ago that we were kicking off um the launch of sora as part of
101the north country library system through jefferson lewis boces we were going to tap into the overdrive which provides ebooks and other content available online to our students and our librarians have been working extra hard to train our students on how to access that um because the use of training books in and out physically has been a little bit more difficult this year because of covid and because of the work that they've done with students right now of all the districts in the region this is just a guess but we're probably 40 times higher in terms of numbers of books taken out than any other district in the area so our students are using that astronomically especially given that it's the first month and a half of kickoff so the librarians are really excited about that
102and i just have to extend a great thanks to them for working so hard to make sure our students and families are aware that that app is available to them um just a heads up that we will have to begin again our renewal of our district comprehensive improvement plan for 2122 last year beth i know you served as a participating board member on that committee probably be looking for another board member to participate on that committee it's a relatively quick turnaround we don't yet have any materials from stata provided to us for the district's plan case has received materials for theirs um so when we receive them probably in mid to late may the turnaround has to be complete by july 15th so um we'll have about six weeks to really get that work underway
103so if anybody's interested just let me know and we'll be getting to begin to form that committee very soon um and then tina and i have been working with matt burdick and misty wecker and holly lefex at the high school to discuss what the future is of we've talked about testing center we've talked about the future of learning centers at the high school and we really don't have anything solidified in stone yet but i i just wanted to share that with you because we are we've been talking a lot about diversity and equity and how to reach some of our students who have um lots of you know lots of needs academically and misty and matt and holly have been working really hard and shared some great ideas of tina and i about how to
104help students move forward how to get them moving forward with the cdos credential how to give them extra support academically to still be on a path to graduation but to move readily along with the support that they need in the classes that they're taking so more to come on that in the future but i just also wanted to share with you where we're at with that and you know acknowledge matt estee and holly's work in doing so and uh that's it for me thank you assistant superintendent for personal student services all right stacy and i have been working with our tutors we met with them on april 26 along with bridget minster and we had a great conversation in this room about the future tutoring in the district and of course this year the tutors
105are dispersed amongst the buildings we have five um they were housed at massey in the past and we've been looking at uh reorganizing that model and so we're very excited to say that we're working with them and we're going to work with the principals um having the tutors be placed in buildings next year uh and four buildings and a couple of goals of that the goal is to reintegrate students so they may be out for medical reasons of course or disciplinary issues so we'd like to certainly have the students be in a school ready to reiterate when possible also it provides an opportunity we had in the past at massey uh transportation was a challenge for many of our students so if we disperse the tutors amongst the buildings around the city there's more opportunity
106for our students to take advantage of the tutoring so like i said we like to complement the work of our tutors they go in a lot of different directions working with our students and so we're excited to announce that we'll be in buildings next year patty had mentioned that it's uh you know staff appreciation as you mentioned the nurses thursday happens to be nurse nurses appreciation day nationally so just wanted to give kudos to our nurses i mentioned them at almost every meeting but you know they take care of everything from athletics they provide emotional support to our students on many occasions they make those connections that we know are so important the role models they're also liaisons between our school and our parents which is so very important and i can't i'd be remiss
107if i didn't mention their role in preparing our students to return to school during colbin and anything in between they've been such a huge asset to our students and our families and they continue to work very very hard uh to ensure student safety and of course that'll continue they've helped uh in each building with reintegration of students on thursday for k-6 as well so just want to give a thank you to our nurses and the nurses everywhere for their for their service and contributions okay thank you and school business managers report we kind of just saw the bulk of it with the uh budget hearing and just kind of prepping for that along with the mailings that need to go out getting things online so thank you for sally parker newell for that so everything
108that you saw tonight and that the little website that's all up under the business office and as far as school re-bid just getting the prep work done with that we have the pos out received word from legal today the contracts look good and we finally got some insurance stuff hanging out there with one of the contractors so we got that squared away and everything that's good there so i'll mail those back to bcaa tomorrow questar we have our internal audit coming up but we're still finalizing that and getting ready to do prep work there and then some not so great news came yesterday in the form of the nice to put out guidance regarding the transportation date when we were shut down during the pandemic and so standby costs are not aidable after may 7th
109through the end of the year so what that means to us and we have to put this in our st3 which went under the form of t and i did that today after going through and calculating everything and that's just over 359 000 that will lose transportation in eight at a 90 percent uh aid ratio is about 323 000 so we'll be working through that but that's a huge hit especially when we were kind of going under he had received go ahead and keep going the way we were doing it just keep everything moving along and you know they threatened it wasn't going to happen from march 16th on and then this was kind of one of the concessions with everything else i think that they ended up finalizing with the budget yeah so that
110kind of stinks all right any questions for josh okay a lot of upcoming dates so the 14th there's that policy committee meeting at noon um the 18th again a very important day is the budget vote and the school board election and that's running from noon until 9 pm either at watertown high school or north elementary depending upon whether you are north or south living in the city um again just know our change that our next board of education meeting is wednesday the 19th at six o'clock early dismissal for students on the 21st and then no school on the 28th for a snow day give back i'm gonna go around the room starting with you nancy anything you want to comment on carly michael jason all right um at this time i need a motion to
111go into executive session to discuss the employment of an employee jason thank you second all in favor you
