[applause] We are super happy to have her and are looking forward to working with her. All right. So, as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we are here. I hope we've made it to the supermarkets, right, and started to take care of our to-do list there. Um, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude. uh to the entire West Babylon community as are shared with our families and colleagues. Thanksgiving reminds us to pause
002to reflect and to participate uh and appreciate right the many blessings that we experience each day. Even in a year that brings its share of challenges and sorrow. I am deeply grateful for my daughters. I'm deeply grateful for our students uh who continue to inspire us with their curiosity, their resilience, and their kindness. To our West Babylon families, thank you. Thank you for your partnership, your trust, and your ongoing support of our schools. To our teachers, our administrators, our support staff, our PTAs, and everyone else that is part of this wonderful West Babon school community for your dedication to making WB a special place for our children. To our board of education, thank you for your leadership and your steady commitment to the success and well-being of our students, staff, and faculty. And last, a
003huge thank you to everyone who played a role in supporting so many families with Thanksgiving meals this year. Your generosity and compassion reflect the best of who we are here in WB. As we head into the holiday season, I encourage all of you to enjoy time with family, friends, and loved ones. I also invite you to the upcoming um December 6 PTA council's annual jingle jog at the junior high school. and later that same evening, our WB, our West Babylon community tree lighting that's hosted by our alumni foundation, our fire department, and the Lions Club on Little East Neck Road. Please also be sure to check our school calendar for all the upcoming um holiday events, holiday concerts. Again, um those are highlights of the season. I wish all of you a joyful, peaceful, and
004restorative Thanksgiving. Um and I hope you enjoy the holiday. So, that's all I have for this section of the agenda. Mr. Po, Good evening everybody. Um, since our last meeting, there were actually no student council meetings scheduled for any of the schools for me to visit. Um, but I did get the amazing opportunity to attend a field trip to the Ronald McDonald House. So, I thought I would talk a little bit about that because I think that if you've never experienced it, it's something that everybody should experience at least once in their life. Um, I went on the field trip with Miss Heatherington, Miss Hearns, and some members of the student council, and we baked some treats for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Um, if you don't know, the Ronald McDonald House
005is a nonprofit program that provides free housing and support for families who have a child receiving medical treatment far from home. So, the one that we visited was next to Cohen's Children's Hospital, but there are all over the world. I mean, in a many countries, not just here. Um, and what they're doing is truly amazing. Um, we got we had the chance to get a tour and our tour guide was actually she stayed there herself years earlier with her first daughter. And she said that every Friday there was a woman that would come and just make Rice Krispie treats for the parents and leave them out. and she said every Friday it just was a little light to their life that obviously is a lot of darkness at that time. So, um all of us
006that went on the field trip were so grateful that we got to experience it. We're grateful to the school district that we're able to have field trips like that. Um, and especially because of all of the hardships that we've faced and how we've relied on each other as a community, it's also nice to bring that light from West Babylon all across wherever we can reach it. So, um, if you haven't been, I would encourage you to visit one whenever you get the chance. And that's all I have for you today. >> Thank you. >> Okay, I saw Uh, PTA council. >> Yes. >> Oh, they are in the front in the front. Sorry about that. >> Hi everyone. >> Hi. >> Are these on or I don't have to touch anything? Okay. >> No need

So, three years ago, the West Babylon PTA Council came together to create a district-wide Veterans Day contest as a way to honor veterans in our community and to show our appreciation as a West Babylon school community to these veterans. Making sure our children are aware of the dedication and sacrifice of the men and women who put on a military uniform to defend our nation. and seeing our students be so creative and thoughtful in acknowledging their service um as students has truly been a worthwhile endeavor for PTA council. As we know, the freedoms that we value do not appear
009by chance. Uh behind every right and liberty stands a long line of v veterans who step forward to protect these freedoms. And a veteran sacrifices ripples through generations. children grow up safely because our veterans stood guard. The depth of our gratitude extends beyond one single day of recognition.
