welcome everybody to the flag of the United States of America the god to happy Professionals Day and Mr time um every day so C off start good even everyone so a lot of this is refresher it's not new information so the 2425 proposed budget is 53.4 million than just about a1. million increase 2.1 increase over the current year the big story bu the increase is just over 900,000 which the property tax change p000 the last time we we talked about the state budget wasn't yet finalize that did happen over the weekend the net change for us which just about $40,000 Foundation a that number wasn't increased because expense needs can deviate from projections it's not aerial so I didn't have to for that there was some schools that are going to experience millions of dollars

that that rest it's a big story for that but we learn this to begin with and so G to continue on plan so the proposed Levy it's 18 million 106 541 that's going to require a simple majority vote so it's a 50 plus 1% yes vote from our public and the tax rate is expected to go up about 48 uh what that means at a home with a value of 15,000 it's under $30 for the year less than $3 a month that's before the basic star assumtion so the basic star assumption is not uh set by the school district but that is changing and that is decreasing so current year uh it's 510 it's going to go down before so this is that impact is is expenditures there's a slight change in this versus the

last time um you'll see an a next to instruction and operations so we finalized the B commitment between the last time we met and now and so we needed to transfer um some expenditures into instruction and out of operations so that was a $230 23,000 change again adding to instruction and decreasing operations that imp have zero um the big stories here are instructions 56% of our budget um that's 26% so a trend is high health insurance 10% increase 5% for operations it's 11% of our budget we do have some projects have for those we also utility expenditures transportation is set for the main CP that's an estimate um Debt Service is low and I'll talk about that in the next slide that's a one year expiring debt be borrowing at the end of this year

that'll go back to normal on but this year this in this year in this proposed budget it's our it's not normally so the three-part budget this is a part of the requirement uh for our budget hearing so program this year proposed budget is 82.2% it's about 8% 79% last year um Capital that's the item that's AR officially The Debt Service that's 9.4% it was 12% in the current year so it's that service delated and then administra that's 8.4% of the budget High year was 8.1 relatively BL forr cost our our teaching salaries and our benefits our instructional materials including textbooks and our clubs and athletic programs as well as our B's program cost and our transportation so that's the bulk of that's the bulk of our spent the capital costs are for our maintenance and

our cial staff our de service utilities insurance tax cases Etc and then administra cost admin salaries and benefits of Cl support our curc developmental development tax collection legal expenses thank you so as discussed before we've had a series of needs assessment on our St princip then they presented to you some work investment [Music] analysis so at the elementary school some positions that we had a previous [Music] that some positions over last year intervist CL also to continue you special programs talking about function knowe teacher physical therapist and occational therapist are [Music] cont each teacher actually and then looking at SC to see if that internally or the request for campus safety monitors that's the uh was in a position this year at both the high school and middle school the model has been success [Music]

to support events and SCH special so this position typically [Music] Learners so at Middle School the D of students and the social previously again focus on stud social point4 Spanish teaching what that does is bring Spanish position to students are2 PE teacher and that's going to help the Middle School sports program and um which has been very successful and then some of that support at the high school students social workers position last year social workers T Center that year and it has been a very successful three special education teacher BR special education health teacher the health teer thiss and then support this so in terms of the Departments Superion successful how many students um [Music] have we talked about the Huddle software upgrade which will allow our parents to view versus huddle facilities maintenance mechanic

health and safety equipment and building repairs and then it uh Chromebook step STS we did uh do the next slide a little differently um and uh this looks like a not the final version of the um of the slide so I'm not sure when this was uploaded some things were shifted a a little bit um but I will speak to that so the elementary um last time we talked about looking for some potential grants for some of the other positions and also efficiencies and we were asked to really try to f- tune that a little more so on April 30th we will be going to a meeting on a resource allocation review process and through that there is a resource allocation Grant from what we know currently uh one area that can be chosen is

providing additional support to students um after we go through a process of like resource review and looking what's currently in place so um we believe but it's not certain that that is how we will be able to um provide additional AIS support I'm the elementary musical Club fan Fantastic uh uh junior drama production this year um there are so many students that we're going to break that into also having an elementary Club so more students can participate and we'll be talking more about that and that can be funded through one of our title grants that focuses on well-rounded students so the efficiency would be the year-long chorus um we heard that van Sky currently has year-long chorus um because the art and music teacher flip there's chorus one there is course half the year at

each of the those buildings um but through looking at some scheduling um and maybe an additional 0.02 or 01 that not even the 0.1 we should be able to do this um I wanted to talk about the middle school so AIS is the same uh potential Grant um social studies uh and the teacher assistant uh on the um next version of this are in the right hand column we are planning on looking at efficiencies first and then um if we uh can't do it through efficiencies um we believe the teacher assistant because of the additional social emotional support can be part of of that Grant as well and then Mr McFarland and I talked about a potential plan for efficiencies for the point6 social studies teacher at the high school the uh um your your

final slide should say cahos High School the teacher assist um is through the the grant again the additional support this person would be working with a genuity formerly known as Apex and then with the AIS and social studies the first plan is to look at efficiencies and then if and also look at the potential Grant as well so we'll update this slide before the next time it's actually updated um just not here is it updated there it is up there so I was looking at this so there you go that's right don't just look at your paper P okay so uh what happens if the budget is defeated B the budget is defeated the tax levy Remains the Same uh would require $265,000 in reduction unfortunately all the fund stuff goes away um we still

have to pay for legal expenses anything that's contractual or by Statute and then obviously anything required to maintain program preserver property and assure the health and safety of our students and staff so that leaves nothing for fun so uh districtwide arts and enrichment programs would be reduced field trips would be reduced materials and supplies buildings and s and Equipment are not health and safety related and then conferences and professional development would be impacted so next steps tonight we're uh taking action on the budget proposal and the property tax report card uh the budget newsletter uh includes the budget notice and that is in draft format it's been finalized this week and will be mailed out end of the month early May the public hearing will be held in May 8th and the public vote is

looking at that in executive session at our last May meeting with um recommendation for approval at our Jam we also met with our claims auditor and our Deputy claims auditor uh we reviewed their process and their checklist and talk about special projects that they've been working on throughout the year and then I just wanted to uh take a moment to thank some folks for uh maintenance and grounds because we've had a lot of projects going on in the district and hopefully people have noticed um so there's some poth hole repairs at the high school uh last week so that was great news and we also had some tree removal uh at paage Avenue and at Harmony Hill this week um so thanks to our maintenance and grounds folks uh our head custodian has been coordinating
