It's 3:20. Are we at 2.1? Good afternoon. I will call the Board of Education meeting to order. This is the Board of Education meeting of the North Rose Wolcott Central School. We are at a BOCES at the BOCES site in Newark this afternoon. We've had a wonderful tour of P-TECH and a nursing program, and then a workshop, and now we're conducting our meeting. So, we're happy to be here, and we thank the BOCES uh for accommodating us. Um our first order on the agenda is to salute the flag. Please stand and talk. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. A motion, please, to approve this afternoon's agenda. Tina and Linda. Is

there any discussion? All in favor of approving the agenda. Motion is carried. At this time, the board is going to go into executive session to discuss the employment history of specific employees. May I have a motion, please, to go into executive session. Casey and Travis. Any discussion? All in favor of it going into executive session. Tina, I'm sorry. Motion is carried. We'll be leaving you and we'll be back in 10-15 minutes. Thank you. All right, we are back in session. And coming back to the agenda, we are number two, public access to the board. Is there anyone for public access tonight? There is. Yes, there is. Yes, all right. Um I will remind uh anyone speaking to the board that um the board is uh the board listens. Um that's our job to to listen,

but we do not respond in any way. Um and that we assume that you have read the uh policy and will adhere to the stipulations of our policy. Thank you. Someone else here? The timer. I need to solve This HR needs to be on mute. Yes, someone I I get I usually turn my timer on. That's huge. Do you need to >> Cuz I forgot. Um Do you need the policy to sign in? I'm sure. I don't have my phone on me. And if you just want to go right over there to that and go in the podium. Yeah. All right. I have um uh Aaron Monick who would like to speak to the board. Okay. My name is Aaron Monick. I'm a parent district. Thank you to board members and to administrators and staff.

Thank you to the board members for volunteering at NRW and thank you to the administrators and staff for your hard work. As Ted Roosevelt would say, you can gather in the arena and it's easy for the rest of us to be critics. Last week was a wonderful one to celebrate the arts in North Rose Valley and Wayne County. On Thursday, we had our district wide concert. That's one of my favorite days of the year, great way to welcome spring. We have students and music educators from three schools that performed on one night to showcase their talents and they delivered. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the middle school performed the Frozen Jr. uh musical and delighted a full audience with their acting and singing talents. Earlier that Saturday, Sodus hosted the Wayne County Music Educators Association

junior and high school all county concerts. And wow, I don't know if any of you were there, but there are some talented musicians in this county and we had eight NRW students perform at that concert at both of those concerts. Uh so, what a great several days. It is important that we recognize the hard work that our teachers put in all year to culminate performances to share with the community. There was one teacher that was left out of the programs for the district concert and the middle school musical. >> Excuse me, but we don't hear uh comments about specific people. Does she no longer work for the district? She does still. But we don't if if there's comments you want to make, they can be written or so that the the board would address them

and uh Okay, so um is my time still going? Mhm. Uh I think we can all agree as adults in this community, all the teachers, the staff, administrators, board members, and parents, we should be good role models for the children of our community. We should show them by example that it is important to recognize hard work regardless of surrounding circumstances. I realize that the rest of us do not know everything the district knows, and for good reason. But I think the district can take the high road. It is not too late to give credit where credit is due. That is another lesson lesson to teach our kids. We should can and should take the high road. And do the right thing even after the fact. Our children are confused, and understandably so, but it is

not too late to make reparations and give credit where credit is due. You guys are in the arena, I'm just a critic. But critics can often encourage us to reflect and make changes. Thanks for listening. That completes public access to the board. We are now on the consent agenda. A motion, please, to approve the consent agenda. Leslie and Linda. Are there Is there any discussion for The consent agenda goes through page four. Hearing none, all in favor of approving the consent agenda. Motion is carried. We are at number four on page four. A motion, please, to approve the election worker for the annual budget vote and election of board members. Motion, please. Uh Tina and Casey. Any discussion? Tina, would you call the roll? Cinda? Yes. Tina? Yes. John is absent. Casey? Yes. Linda? Yes.

Leslie? Yes. Travis? I abstain for the reason of family member. Thank you. Motion is carried. Thank you. Motion is carried. Uh and now we're on page five, number two. Um a motion, please, to approve the notice of SEQR for the 2026-27 capital outlay. Uh Travis and Linda. Discussion? Hearing none, Tina, would you call the roll? Cinda? Yes. Tina? Yes. John is absent. Casey? Yes. Linda? Yes. Leslie? Yes. Travis? Yes. Thank you. Motion is carried. Thank you. We come now to the time when board members can um make requests, comments, or discussion. Does anyone have anything you'd like to bring before the board? Linda? I I've been given information about um a national civics bee regional competition that will be taking place in Seneca Falls, which promotes uh civic skills with students, and uh they're having

a regional competition then, and I'll get more information. But uh our students that are awarded here will go on to other, and they can earn uh sizable fortune now. I'll need for uh going on to college, and so on. But civics is something that many people are concerned about. Still lives in some. That was brought up. I'll give you more information when I get it. Thank you. Anyone else? Anyone have any good news they'd like to share? I would like to. I I went to the middle school play. It was exceptional. I think we should talk about that. Well done. As as well as every year. Yes, very well done. And I was at the uh the uh district music concert at the high school and that was extremely good. And excellent voices and big

voices. Anyone else? It was nice that it was streamed this year. Um Oh, was it streamed? Yeah. Some of us went to Club 86 that evening and uh it was nice that when I got home I was able to watch my daughter perform. So, I had to go to both. It was nice that I was able to do both things. Uh and the Club 86 was the Forest Colony School Board's Association meeting. That's what you are talking about. Yes. Great. The All County um band was also a very good concert. Excellent individual They are a lot talented musicians and nice to hear. I know the band works really hard but when you get every, you know, first chair kid from all the districts, they have a really nice sound. So, they really did a great

job. Great. And I was happy to know that music is thriving in our district. And uh Lois, do you have something else? >> Well, one more thing from Four County uh legislative group. We did meet with two folks from Niskayuna about electric buses situation and think uh Joey Ethier and Philip Barone and Allen were there representing states and they were they listened to all the things that we brought up as issues and then uh probably managed our schools especially. And at the end of that presentation they volunteered to come to our area and meet with people and gather more and have conversation. After they disconnected, the executive director for four counties said there used to be personally attacked about the issue rather than getting concerns and sharing informations about what's difficult for us. So, that

kind of explained why they're willing to come and and have conversations. They're not the decision makers, they're the ones that are really directed to carry things out. But, they also carry information back to get feedback. So, I saw that as a very positive thing and I'll keep you updated on how it goes. I hope, you know, we're going to be able to have some influence over some of the decisions that are going to either be changed, hopefully you know, to help us because we don't have deep pockets to deal with what's coming down the pipe. Okay, great. Thank you. Does anyone else Well, that brings us to the end of our agenda. Uh a motion, please, to adjourn. Tina and Travis. Uh any discussion? All in favor? We are adjourned.
