and kindness. In addition to his academic strengths, Paxton is an incredibly talented artist. He frequently lends his creativity to our classroom and whenever I need help with a visual or artistic element, he is the first stu student I turn to. Upon first meeting, you could tell [crying] he and the type of student that wanted to make him happy. He was polite. He was quiet. He hesitated to volunteer in class and he was just a little bit unsure of himself. the weeks and the months of his school year. I have been blessed to watch Liam grow

It it's it's fun to put it on. It's fun to be a part of it and see the community come out, see coaches come out, see their families come out. Some people we don't get to see all that often. Um I know the ball team's been fighting through weather. Of course, tonight it's nice and sunny and 65° out, but uh but they're finally starting to get some games in. Um but it's just uh it's fun to just see the kids out there doing what they love. That's what that's what they're that's what they're here for. That's what we're

the primary to the fall. So last month when we had our PLCC meeting, we met in the well lab and some of our students including some of ours from Springfield this project and this is it says PLCC from the top it has the PLCC Springfield one um doesn't do a whole lot of good for me to have displayed in my house. So I'm wondering if we can play in the high school. >> Absolutely. >> So, this is from the welding class and this was actually made on a on a on a CAD. Um, I think it was it's not oxy acetylene, but u it uses air and and and a arc to blow through. So, that's how this was made and then it just follows it around. 015and speak at the five minutes of duration. Okay. Seeing none then we'll move on to it is recommended that the board approve payment of bills for the month of March meeting pending audit and those are provided in exhibit two. Second move and seconded. Mr. Adams. >> Mr. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Mr. Herford. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Roland. >> Yes. >> Mr. L. >> Yes. >> Motion passed. Thank you. Uh, number 12. It is recommended that the board accept the financial reports from the treasur for March 2026 and those are exhibits three, four, and five. >> So move second. >> Mr. Adams moved his second. >> Mr. Mason, >> yes. >> Mrs. Warner, >> yes. >> Mr. Hoffer, >> yes. >> Mr. Lance, >> yes. >> Mrs. Yes. 016to personnel. It is recommended that the board accept or approve the following personnel items. 13.1. Accept the retirement resignations of the following certified employees. So um Brett Zimmerman uh Brett first began his Spartan career as a teaching assistant in the 1998 1999 school year. He obtained his teaching credential and was hired for the um 2003 2004

school year as a special education teacher at Young Elementary. During his tenure at Springfield, he taught special education at Young Shrop Roosevelt, Spring Hill, and the high school junior high where he ended his career. He's going to be definitely missing that. He's moving out to California to be with Susan Elliot. Susan was hired for the 9697 school year as eighth grade language arts teacher before moving to eighth grade social studies. For the 21-22 school year, she moved to Shra to teach sixth grade where she will be ending her teaching career at Shra. Another staple of our district is going to be terly missed. Um and then I would like to present to you Claudia Palmer. Claudia is sitting right there waving to you. Claudia um graduated in December, I believe, from Mountain Union with her

degree in art. She was one of the I think she interviewed with us. >> Wait, did I us >> She's not teaching Japanese here. >> No, not yet. Not yet. We'll see how it goes. >> That would be an interesting language to learn. >> And I was tell her art work is phenomenal. Is phenomenal. It's it's extraordinary. And a lot of it and a lot of Japanese, you know, influence on it. So, I I'm very excited to see um what she's going to do with her junior high kids. >> I'll be interested in knowing where the Japanese part of the culture came into your life. >> This what was it? >> I'm an attorney for so I travel fairly regularly and I was able to take her with me. Uh but we uh we welcome the teachers that will be returning to us next year. >> Question new names. It's nice to see >> a lot of new names. It's nice to see >> lot of names. I'll second Mr. Mr. Mason, >> yes. >> Mr. Gopher, >> yes. >> Mrs. Warner, >> yes. >> Mrs. Roland, >> yes. >> Mr. Rice, >> yes. >> Motion to pass. >> 15. It is recommended that the board approve a memorandum of understanding with Southeastern University for the college credit plus program for the 2627 school year. >> So I'm sorry. >> So this is um the first time that we're working

with a Southeastern University College. So you know just like more and more colleges are coming forward and kids are buying different venues to their CCP. So, um, the little ones join our family. >> How do they go about that? Did they approach us? Do we approach them? >> No, we don't approach them. So, what happens if if our students um decide that that's where they want to go for their CCP courses? >> Um, then then they'll then they send us then we get in touch and they send us an okay. >> We don't we don't bo they come to us. >> Does Southeastern offer something unique like unique you know, whoseever whatever student um is necessarily get told the class that they're taking. So, >> not 100% on that. >> But, you know, once the

names start getting down, there are all the kids here and you know, more and more people can maybe join at time. >> It's a great great plan to take take advantage of. >> Absolutely. >> Mrs. Brolan. >> Yes. >> Mr. Lambs. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hoer. >> Yes. Yes. Mrs. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Motion passed. Number 16. We have a primary plan agreement with Summit ESC. Is recommended that the board approve the primary service plan [snorts] agreement with the Summit Educational Service Center for the 2627 school year. And that was provided to us in exhibit seven. >> Second. >> This is something we do every year. We get services from some of ESC um like our school psychologists, our um we're doing professional development, math, we do a um an

aologist [snorts] through them. Uh we also have a work study >> coordinator, >> a work study coordinator. So, it's money that's got to be spent at the ESC so we get the services that we need from >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Wonder, >> yes. >> Mrs. Mr. Brolan, >> yes. >> Mr. Lance, >> yes. Mr. Hoverber, >> yes. Your >> motion pass. >> Number 17. Is recommended that the board approve the revised Eastman agreement with the village of Lakemore to relocate and realign a family s sewer line located at the Springville bus garage along Kenny Raven Junior Memorial Parkway. So move. This is the one that we voted on last month, but there needed to be um a legal reference that was not included, so they had to redo it and >> from

their site. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I wonder. >> Yeah. >> So, it was they needed this statement to be filed into the county. >> So, >> okay. >> That's why we do see that. >> Mrs. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hoverer. >> Yes. >> Mr. Yes. >> Mrs. F. >> Yes. >> Number 18 is a shared service agreement with Mogador Local. It is recommended that the board approve a shared services agreement under which Springfield, excuse me, Springfield will provide school bus maintenance service to Mogador through Springfield's transportation maintenance operation in order to promote efficiency, cost effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. And that agreement was provided in exhibit 9. >> Absolutely. Second, I do have a question. >> Yes. Um, it says that there are a maximum of $47,500. So, if it's

close, then if spending is more that they will adjust. >> Yeah, we would bring a revise, but we left we left some head space in there for the the part half 50% of the mechanic salary and benefit costs uh there. But yes, we left some head space in there just to as wages go up and such. But um so this agreement we will start maintaining mom's fleet there through our garage and with our mechanic. Um the benefit that I think we get from this just like the shared services agreement with the with the township on IT services is it helps allow us to employ full-time staff members and help with retention and getting quality people in those those positions when we got a full-time position to offer rather than than a part-time position to offer

there. So helps us send that in able to provide those services qualified parttime people end up losing ourselves that's all on site at Springfield. We don't travel. >> We may travel for bus breaks after something like that, but for all intents and purposes, it's meant to be on bus. Sweet. Good. Thank you, >> Mrs. Fol. >> Yes. >> Mr. Lance, >> yes. Mr. Hoer, >> yes. Mrs. Warner, >> yes. >> Mr. Baser, >> yes. Motion pass. Number 19 regarding resource officer. It is recommended that the board approve memorandums of understanding for Springville Township to provide the services of school resource officers as required by Ohio Revised Code section 3313.951 for Spring Hill Elementary and Shrop Intermediate. And that will be for July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2028. And these memory, these are provided in

exhibits 10 and 11. >> So >> second, this is just our two-year agreement with the best officers and >> normally two years, right? >> Yes. They do a wonderful job, too. >> Yes, they do. the department staff. >> Mrs. Warner, >> yes. >> Mr. Williams, >> yes. >> Mrs. Fola, >> yes. >> Mr. Mason, >> yes. >> Mr. Herford, >> yes. >> Motion passed. Uh, Village of Lake School Resource Officer Memorandum. It is recommended that the board approve a memorandum of understanding with the village of Lakemore to provide the services of the school resource officer as required by Ohio Revised Code section 3313.951 for Springfield High School and Junior High from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2028. And that was provided in 12. >> So move second. >> The same thing but for high

school junior high. >> Mr. Mason. >> Yes. >> Mr. Williams. >> Yes. >> Mr. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hover. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Roland. >> Yes. >> Motion to pass. >> Real real quick on the Springfield one. That's one officer for each school shop in Spring Hill or one >> No, one officer for each school. >> Okay. Two two officers. >> Two officers. Okay. >> That was one of the uh promises that when we passed [snorts] when we had some money that we said that was important resource officers. >> All right. >> For each building. >> So we have one at every school. >> Yes, we do. Yes, we do. All right. >> It is recommended the board approve a service agreement with the village of Lake North Police Department [snorts] to provide an

attendance coordinator for the 2627 school year. And that agreement is I'm glad we do. >> We do. It's It's a good point. >> It is. It's It's a good thing to have. It really is. [clears throat] >> Number 22, sinking fund entry. It is recommended that the board approve syncing fund entry for fiscal year 2026 in the amount of 1 million $10,000. This is exhibit 14. I'll explain that further. So move second. >> So every year I have to make an entry to the sinking fun. The syncing fund is part of the uh financial package that we did. Okay. And basically what we have to do is I have to set up its unique fund it own fund so the auditors can see that I'm putting money in there based on that retirement schedule that

our underwriters cover. And then in September of 27 we'll make a one-time payment of 11,260,000. So by by September of 27, I better have 11,260,000. The good part is we never put this on a board until the authors recommended it. So have been in the last couple years. Y >> So >> and there's $9,155,000 in there accumulating as of we speak. >> That's right. That's right. So we got two more and we'll get the magic number and then we'll pay. that was part of the whole we built the high school. It was really unique and at the time President Obama came out with this build America bonds QB all kinds of different kind of financial tools that we could get involved in was way above my pay grade. But the fact that this actually helped

because the fact that we could keep this money on our books and make interest that really helped us financially. So, two more years, whatever the next treasure is, I'll have a big September of 27 abundant law taped with arrows make the payment. I'll you'll be reminded any questions. >> Mrs. Brol, >> yes. >> Mr. Mason, >> yes. >> Mrs. Warner. >> Yes. >> Mr. Hoverberg. >> Yes. >> Motion pass. Next item is the treasur report. Put this up. There's a number up here that looks different and that has to do with the recent negotiations. Okay. Basically, we've been tracking our expenditures, benefits, and personnel 50% of our spend. And your benefits are tracking close, but you'll see down here in personnel services, that's people. You'll see a spike. Okay? And that spike has to do

with the recent negotiated agreement with our certified teachers. uh at the beginning of the year we did not just didn't know how our contract would be structured. So uh the budget didn't have that reflected. The good part is uh we're going to end the year as expected. Uh the 5-year forecast that K12 um we're going to submit that next month for board approval and I'll submit it to uh the department of education all that too.
