Good rightight. >> Yes. >> Kleinhand >> here. Ner >> here. >> Degan >> here. >> Right. I did just want to clarify typically we live stream these meetings, but we do have a technical issue tonight and so we are recording it and will be uploaded tomorrow. So, just wanted to create awareness of that. Um, if you can please join me in standing for the pledge of allegiance. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. All right. Can I please get a motion to approve the January 2026 board

agenda as presented, amended? >> So move. >> Second. >> Uh Degan, >> yes. >> N. >> Yes. >> Kleinhens, >> yes. >> Starcher, >> yes. >> Good. Right. >> Yes. >> All right. and a motion to approve the minutes of the December 16th, 2025 special meeting in the December 16th, 2025 regular session. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Uh Goodwrite, >> yes. >> Starcher, yes. >> Kleinhand, >> yes. >> Degan, >> yes. >> Mayor, >> yes. >> All right. At this time, we'll move into section two recognitions. And we're going to start with the Edgewood Student Council team and uh schoolboard recognition. >> We were able to start this way last year too with Thank you for a snow day. Not that you have to earn your appreciation, but it definitely helps. But my name

is Christy Gray. I work at Edgewood. Um I run their behavioral ED unit. Um as well as the adviser for the student council and I also help with our staff sunshine committee. So um you get a little mix of all that today minus the behavior hopefully. But um we're super excited to be here and just wanted to show our appreciation. January is official board appreciation month. So, we like to just do a little something to let you guys know that although we don't necessarily see firsthand everything that you guys do, it definitely affects us. So, um the students as well as the staff, we just thank you guys so much. So, um each student is going to share a little something that they have appreciated since being a part of Wester City Schools, whether that's

been a year or their whole life or whatever it may be, but they just wanted to share something a little special that they've been a part of. >> I'm Katie Brad and I appreciate that the teachers understand everybody. I'm Lincolnley and I appreciate all the opportunities you give us here at Wester City Schools such as being on student council and in the future I'd like to be on the robotics team. >> My name is and I appreciate the opportunities to do many activities like sports and other extracurriculars. I'm Mr. Dewald and I appreciate the fact that you listen to like what we want for the schools and you try to make it the best for us. >> I like the fact that we can be very quiet. >> I'm Scarlet. I'm Scarlet Wy and I

appreciate that you hire good teachers that listen to us. So, in the little brown gift bag, you will find a little gift from our sunshine committee at Edgewood specifically. We custom made some mugs for you guys. So, hopefully you can find some more beverages for those. And then the student council made a little survival kit for the school board. So, I should have brought up here what it is, but uh there's like Starburst for if you need a burst of energy and Snickers to remember to laugh through the hard times and things like that. So, we just wanted a little treat to say thank you guys. >> Thank you so much. >> Thank you very much. >> Yes. Thank you so much for being here and thanks for you sharing some of your your favorites.

Certainly you are the reason we do what we do. So thank you so much. Um with that we are going to transition into another one of our favorite parts of the meeting which is our student recognition uh for the month. and starting the position of the summer. Good evening, community members, members of the board. My name is Gabrielle Montgomery. I'm the principal at Cornerstone Elementary, and I have two incredible students to share with you this evening. The first I have to share is Mr. Jensen Keller. He is in second grade in Miss Chamberlain's class. Jensen is joined this evening by Grandma Betsy and Grandma Chip. Um they are in the back. If you'd like to give them a round of applause. Thank you for joining us. And we are very proud of Jensen for being

with us tonight. He's not going to join me up front, but we're going to recognize his nomination um and and let him be, you know, have his regulation today. Um so this is his uh nomination from his teacher, Miss Chamberlain. Jensen Keller has been nominated by Mrs. Chamberlain from the very beginning of my time as a first-time teacher. Jensen has made me feel incredibly welcomed and supported even though I've only been working with him for a short period of time. His warm personality and genuine kindness stand out each and every day. And he has played a big role in helping me feel comfortable and excited to come to school. Every morning, Jensen comes speeding down the hallway with a huge smile on his face and an enthusiastic story from the night before. His excitement is

impossible to miss and instantly brings joy to those around him. Jensen has a special way of turning ordinary moments into something fun and memorable simply by sharing his energy and positive outlook. Jensen is naturally kind and thoughtful towards others. He goes out of his way to greet people, make them feel included, and brighten their day. His bubbly personality helps create a welcoming atmosphere in the classroom where everyone feels comfortable and valued. Whether he is laughing with classmates, sharing his excitement about upcoming events, or simply spreading positivity, Jensen consistently brings happiness to the room. What makes Jensen especially deserving of this recognition is the way his excitement and kindness are genuine and effortless. He approaches each day with excitement, I'm sorry, with enthusiasm and brings a sense of joy that lifts the spirit of both students

and teachers alike. His presence alone can turn a stressful or quiet moment into one filled with smiles and laughter. Jensen's positivity, kindness, and excitement make a lasting impact on everyone he encounters. He is a wonderful example of how a positive attitude and a caring heart can make a school feel like a welcoming community. For these reasons, Jensen Keller is truly deserving of being recognized as student of the month. Congratulations. Our second cornerstone student is Nora Field. She's a kindergartener in Mrs. Young's class. Um, she's not able to make it here tonight, but I hope that they are able to watch the recording later. Um, so this is Mrs. Young's nomination for Nora. Nora is a kinded, curious, happy kindergartener. She loves putting puzzles together, singing, and doing any crafts. She also loves having books read

to her, and will often help read the words on each page. Nora puts forth great effort in school. She has a genuine love for her for learning new concepts and is showing great progress in learning new skills such as letters, numbers, and words. She is a joy and delight to have in class. I am proud to present Nora Fields as the Worcester City Schools Board of Education Student of the Month for January 2026. Congratulations, Um, good evening. I'm Karen Nashby, principal at Keane Elementary. Um, first I just want to thank Mr. Bor and Filbert for for being here tonight. Thank you very much. Um, but before I turn the time over to our teachers, um, I would just like to recognize teachers parents and also Wing Cormier's parents. If you guys want to stand, everybody

can just recognize you. Wave your hand. With that said, >> good evening everyone. I bring to you joy just like and I just want to say this first. So I normally listen to the um broadcast, right? And so if you all come up here to talk talk in the microphone so that we can hear because sometimes it's like I'm like what? So panel, everybody else here speaking to this. With that being said, uh Georgia is a very uh outgoing and um vivacious second grader in my classroom. She comes to school ready to learn each day. She participates with excitement and confidence, uses her voice to share her ideas. Georgia asks thoughtful questions when she wants to understand something better and always shows kindness, respect, and empathy to everyone around her. Georgia works well with others

and is a natural leader in our classrooms and thought and throughout the school. She is brave and isn't afraid to speak up for what is right. She is part of the school lighthouse team and takes the leadership role very seriously by making hundreds of snowflakes for the dance party and during her recess time or actually at home she colored 20 sheets for the patrolman's appreciation day all by herself. No one told her to do that she just did it. >> Georgia is caring depend is caring dependable friend and a positive role model to all. She always has a positive comment to give a friend and is one of the first in the classroom to ask the people to join her group. She is truly a wonderful friend who truly enjoys helping others. I am so

proud and blessed to have her in my class. Congratulations, Georgia. That's wonderful. Congratulations. Congratulations. There you go. Good job, Georgia. Great job. Great job. This is a picture. Okay. >> Hi, I'm Mrs. Gary. I am Winnie's morning teacher. Um Winnie is truly deserving of this recognition for um the outstanding character and leadership that she demonstrates every day in our classroom. She is a natural leader who consistently works hard and puts exceptional time, effort, and creativity into everything that she does. I love your creativity, Lenny. It's it's fantastic. Her generosity toward everyone around her sets her apart as she treats peers and adults with respect and compassion. Beyond the classroom, she continues working hard and focuses on whatever she's doing. She is a positive role model not only to her classmates, but also to her siblings,

inspiring others through her actions, through her attitude, and her commitment to doing her best all the time. Winnie, I admire your ability to go with the flow and remain calm and adaptable during unexpected changes in our schedule and our environment. This attests to your maturity and your resilience at such a young age. Congratulations and keep up the great work. >> You said that. You said that teacher. >> You said that. Yep. Yep. Good evening. I'm here to share a little bit about our student of the month, Winnie. Uh Winnie is one of those students who comes to school ready to learn, works hard on everything, and always tries her best, even when something is challenging. Winnie's creativity is unparalleled. She brings thoughtful ideas to her work, and often surprises us with unique ways of thinking

and problem solving. During these winter months of indoor recesses, you can see this creativity at work through the many creations and art projects happening daily. Above all, I know I can count on Winnie no matter what. She's kind to all of her classmates, embraces others differences, and is a wonderful example of how to be a good friend. You can definitely tell she's a big sister, the way she looks out for others. I love how Winnie listens carefully and follows directions, and you can always count on her to do the right thing, even when no one is watching. We are so proud of you, Winnie, and forward to the rest of our group together. right here. Nice job. That's wonderful. >> That's okay. You don't have to. Good job. That's awesome. Good evening. My name is

Jamie Tucker. I am the principal of Melrose Elementary. This evening, we'd like to recognize Malachi Carpenter as our education student of the month. He's here tonight with parents Charlie and Melinda and brothers Ryland and Mox. If you can wait to be recognized. I'm going to invite Mrs. Gasser, his teacher, to read her nomination. I'm pleased to recognize Malachi Carpenter for the January Board of Education Student of the Month Award. Malachi has embraced the leader in me seven habits personally and educationally. He puts first things first by not only focusing on completing his work, but also striving to do his very best. He studies his spelling words to achieve a 20 out of 20 and reads his baggie book at home consistently. Malachi also has a win-win attitude as he understands and is willing to unselfishly

make a compromise to be mindful of others wants and needs. For example, when someone is in need of something, he's aware and wants to make sure our classroom family is taken care of, even if he has to give up a better seat or wait to answer a discussion question. He works well with others in groups, quietly leading or helping others. He is an encourager by word and action. He takes our seven habits to heart and models how not only a friend should be, but how we should treat everyone we encounter throughout our day with kindness and care. We often teach and speak of gratitude, but I'm not sure how often we see this as a natural reaction. I remember the morning of our balloons over Melrose schoolwide initiative. Do you remember that? As I greeted

our first grade class at the door, I could see that Malachi was visibly upset. I asked what was wrong and he told me that the balloon he had constructed at home had popped. I asked what he had made and he explained it. While he was in gym class, I put a printed sharp picture on a new balloon and put it on his desk. And when he returned to the classroom, he was so thankful and said that it was even better than the first. I'm not so sure about that. But he was sincere, sincerely appreciative of his gesture. Malachi also shows concern for his family as he talks about them at school and tries to do his part to be helpful at home. For a student who does the right things while no one is looking

and doesn't expect anything in return, deserves to be outwardly recognized for the positive qualities that so many see in him. Congratulations, Malachi. Nice job, guys. Wonderful. Way to go, Valentine. Keep it up. You're welcome. Our second student recognition this evening is Luke Weisman. Although he was able to unattend, Mrs. Murphy will be down here to share her nomination. Luke is a true second grade leader. He comes to school every day ready to learn something new and help our school community in any way he can. Luke thinks critically and it shows in his academics. He always puts first things first and works diligently to get his work done. Each Monday his reading group gets a new poem to read for fluency practice. Luke always gets so excited to read the new poem for the week. He

is a true role model for his peers. His reading has increased so much this year and I'm so proud of him. I know Luke will continue to do great things in second grade and beyond. >> Hi, my name is Katie Roth. I'm the principal of Parkview Elementary and I'm here to share two of our amazing students with you. Um, our first is Miles Sirely. Miles is joined by a family friendly if you would like to wave to be recognized. Um, his teacher, Mrs. Fleming, was not able to make it tonight, so I'm here to share his nomination. She wrote, "Miles Sirely has been chosen as the January student of the month from Mrs. Fleming's first grade class. Miles consistently gives his best effort in his learning and is a highly organized, conscientious student who takes

pride in his work. We especially love how he thoughtfully asks his friends, "Are you sure about that?" showing his curiosity and critical thinking. Miles truly loves to learn and it shows every day. But more important than the excellent academics are his superb manners. Classmates were asked what they like about Miles and they responded, "He is honest and he helps others and he makes fun games at recess." We want to say thank you to his parents for raising such a polite young man who warms our hearts every day. Congratulations. >> Nice job, Miles. Okay, great job. Good job. Way to go. I punched. >> Our second nomination is fourth grade student Xandrea Robinson. Um, Xandrea was not able to make it to today's meeting and neither was Mrs. Bosley, her teacher. So, I will share her

nomination and then pass along her certificate. Um, if you're watching the video live, Xandrea is a kind and caring student. She comes to school each day excited to learn and works hard on her schoolwork. Xandrea is a great role model to other students. She is encouraging and helpful to others. She takes pride in doing her best with her leadership role each day, working with Mrs. Juul to discuss the weather and announce what recess will be for the day. Xandrea's witty humor helps brighten the day of those she shares it with. We are so proud to have Xandrea in our class. Congratulations, Xandrea. All right. Hello. Come on down, folks. Uh, my name is Heidi Hops. I'm the principal at Edgewood Middle School. And thanks for coming tonight. It was definitely a chilly one. Thank you

for letting us stay warm today. Uh, I am going to brag about two of our students, both sixth graders. Uh, the first sixth grader that I have with me tonight um is Evan Ut. And Mrs. Tal was going to come uh talk all about you, but she's unable to make it today. So, she submitted everything and I'll read it. But if we want to recognize um the wonderful folks who raised such a great kiddo, we have mom Chrissy, dad Cody, and sisters Ava and Julia. If you guys want to wave, Emerald team wrote this about you, Evan. We would like to recognize Evan for consistently demonstrating the rise up behaviors at Edgewood. Evan is always respectful in all settings. He listens thoughtfully, shares his ideas appropriately, and interacts positively with his peers both in the

hallways and the classroom, which is a big thing for middle schoolers. He shows integrity by always doing the right thing, even when no one's watching, and can be counted on to make honest and responsible choices. Evan is also safe with his actions in and out of the classroom. He's aware of his surroundings and make choices that reflect care for himself and for others around him. Most notably, Evan is highly engaged in his learning. He brings a positive attitude to class every single day and has many wonderful ideas and he's never afraid to share them. He willingly learns from his mistakes and uses them as opportunities to grow. In addition, Evan shares his knowledge and talents with other students in a kind, respectful, and appropriate way. He has an awesome sense of humor, contributes positivity to

the classroom environment, and he is just an all-around outstanding young man. Congratulations, Evan. We're proud of you and grateful to have you as a part of our Edgewood community. >> Congratulations, Evan. That's outstanding. Congratulations. Way to go. >> Great job. >> Great. Thank you so much. >> Our second student of the month is Sophia Thompson and she is here with mom Candace, stepdad Matthew, and sisters Savannah and Aubana. If you guys want to wave, um, so team Woo has Mr. are here to talk all about you. Okie do. All right, here we go. >> All right, this is a good one. So, here we go. Sophia is a sixth grade student on team Woo at Edgewood Middle School. She was selected for student of the month by her teachers based on her rise up character.

Uh, she is respectful. Sophia is respectful toward all staff and other students. She is polite and kind in and out of the classroom. She works well with a variety of students in small groups and is willing to help others who need assistance. Sophia shows integrity. She follows classroom and school rules. She comes to class prepared and completes her assignments on time and with her best effort. She always puts forth extra effort and goes above and beyond what is expected in class. Sophia demonstrates safety. She follows rules in all school situations. She is always careful and considerate. This can be a challenge like Mrs. H said for a middle school student because of the need to fit in. Her focus is doing the right thing which won't always be the cool thing. And finally, Sophia exhibits

engagement. She actively listens in class and participates during lessons, activities, and discussions. She looks for opportunities to improve herself acade academically. We are proud of Sophia. Congratulations. Nice job. Congratulations. >> Congratulations. Good evening everyone. My name is Margaret Davis. I'm the principal at Worcester High School. I'm excited to introduce our two students of the month. The first Jaden Baker. He was not able to attend tonight, but here to say a few words about him is his intervention specialist, Mr. Shrier. Miss Price, is this good? Perfect. >> All right. Um Jaden, sorry you couldn't make it, but I'm still going to shout you out. Great job. Um I'm Mr. Schneider. I'm one of the teachers at the high school. Um Jaden Baker is my student. Jaden, um I believe you largely got this because over the

last just year to year and a half, we've seen so much improvement from you as a person and as a student. Um, if you don't know Jaden, it's not gonna be hard to see him. He's going to be this large student that's gonna just walk up to you with a giant smile and he's gonna introduce himself and he's going to say hi. And that's another reason that um you have been voted as student of the month because you have been so friendly and outgoing to not just other students but to the staff as well. Um, my first experience, uh, ever seeing or meeting Jaden was when one of my younger students just ran up to him and gave him a big hug because Jaden had been a mentor to him when he was younger. Um,

which is another example of the kind of impact that Jaden has had as a student, not just inside his classroom, but outside to other members of Wester City Schools as well. Um, Jaden has great school spirit. Um, along with his smile, he uh, participates in everything that he can. um and he's been such a great student over the last year that he's actually on track to graduate early um through all of his hard work. So he's also a great example of um what happens when a student becomes very very motivated and dedicated um and you've done a great job showing that success. So Jake Baker, our second student of the month is Kenzie Cypos. She's joined tonight by mom Molly, dad Corey, and little brother Cruz. If you guys want to wave and here to

say a few words about her is her science teacher, Mr. Heler. This evening, I'm here to recognize Kyos as WHS general of the month. I think occasionally we as teachers can focus on things that students are not good at. I could make that list, but if you know me, I'm more of a think positive type guy. So, I made a list of the good skills I try to teach my students and the students that I the skills I hope they would have by the time they get to me in DPM. Every once in a while, a freshman has what it takes. Kinsey's one of those students. So, here's the list. She works ahead. She's proactive. She advocates for herself and is never afraid to ask a question when she needs further clarification on a topic.

She looks for ways to help. For science specifically, she has an excellent set of lab skills. In fact, last week she was the first group to have a monster burner lit. So, that was lit. She always takes advantage of enrichment materials or ways to do more on their own, but that opportunity is given. I've had the privilege of teaching Kinsey this year physical science. Kinsey puts her heart and soul into her school work, and it has not gone unnoticed by me. I was recently talking to her and I found out she wants to be a teacher someday herself. I already know she has what it takes to be that positive influence in a classroom for future students. How do I know that? Because she already does it on a daily basis for her friends and

her peers. Now, congrats again, Kinsey, on being general of the month. We're all super proud of you. Congratulations. That's >> congratulations. >> All right. So, first of all, we'd like to thank Panera. Um, each student tonight uh does receive a gift card from them. And then just a huge congratulations to all the students and all the parents. and appreciate all the support. So, at this time, we're going to transition to our business portion of the meeting. >> I did. I guess I did. >> All right. We do not have any reports this evening. So, we're going to move to section four, which is recognition of visitors and public participation on agenda items. >> I don't know. >> I don't think we have >> I don't we have anything on agenda items. Sorry. >> Yes. >>

Um with that, moving to section five. Uh looking for a motion for the consent agenda for the treasur. >> So move. >> Second. >> Okay. So tonight I have um our uh to present to you our monthly investment report um which just shows our cash and where our investments are um for December 31st of 2025. And then also um the financial report that shows uh six months of actuals uh six months of um um expected expenses from January to June. Um, and this is in comparison to our forecast that I filed in October. Um, so at this point, revenue is trending up a little over 7 $470,000. Um, largely to state um due to state revenue at this point. And I think it's because our enrollment is a little bit higher than what we expected.

Our expenditures are um trending right now unfavorable at this time. Um, and I'm going, um, some of it, well, the majority of it is, uh, due to our salary and benefits. They're trending a little bit higher than, um, what we had anticipated. This is obviously something that I will look at as I present the forecast next month, February. I'll be working on that submission. So, we'll be working on salary and benefits. um uh I mean obviously all of our revenue, all of our expenditures and we'll be giving an update for that um forecast in February. So the net um of that is about $560,000. We're trending unfavorable at this point. Um I think the hard thing um when the state moved to change when the forecasts are um that we are required to submit them

the timing is not really great for us because we actually submitted it in September and at that point we're really still finalizing all of our um you know our first pay for classified and certified staff at that point which is how I look at our salary and benefits and estimate them for the year. So the February one um you know obviously I can update that based on all of our official hires for the year. Um but again when I present it in February it's still going to be you know we still only have seven months of actuals, five months of estimates whereas in the past I would do a May forecast and then I really knew where we would kind of end the year. So even the February one, you know, is is still going

to not, you know, be a great indication of where we're going to end the year. Plus the fact there are still some state legislation in terms of um property taxes that they're trying to finalize. Um not sure where that's going to end up um with us on on just a couple of those that could affect us. Um donations tonight, we have three. Um so you can see um donations for um gymnastics team, for apparel, and for the music department are three donations. And then I have one new fund for approval tonight, and that's to create a class fund for the class of 2029. And that's my consent agenda. >> Any questions for Mrs. Wely? >> I don't have any. >> I would ask one. um when we're looking at this is this month it's FY2026

if we're read in month of January is it expected that those increase by 12 over the course of the year or they might stay the same throughout the year >> so this is based on um sorry I should have explained this a little bit more for since first meeting so what I'm looking at is what our expected revenue and expenses are for the year I'm taking six months of actuals so your July December For actual revenue, I'm still estimating six months. So where we expect our total expenditures and revenue to be for the year based on what I forecasted. >> Yeah. So like if it's red, it's the year. It's 700 for the year. It's not for the month. >> Yes. Okay. >> Yeah. >> So like next month month when I present it, it'll

be seven months of actuals, five months of >> as we move towards the end. Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah. Does that help? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Anything else from anybody? All right. >> Uh, Good Write, >> yes. >> Starcher, yes. >> Kleinhand, >> yes. >> N, >> yes. >> Degan, >> yes. >> All right. Moving to section six. Uh, a motion to approve um the consent agenda for the superintendent, please. >> So moved. >> Second. >> All right. Uh, thank you everyone. Um, a pretty light agenda this evening. Uh um but just to make note of a few things including some uh retirements of uh some great employees. So uh Katie Talon and Melissa Rooney are longtime teachers here at Worcester uh and are both retiring at the end of this year. Um and so we

really appreciate their um their time with us and they will be missed. We have some substitute teachers, temporary substitutes and substitutes. Um the difference is temporary substitutes do not have to have a bachelor's degree where a substitute teacher uh does it actually is there's no change. It's just we have to process them differently. So um appreciate that uh u we would have people that are willing to sub there for us. It's not a commitment to employment. It's just uh to allow them to sub on the classified side uh which is the non-teers. We also have some res resignations. Um Miranda Simmons, Luke Hart, and Diane Hart are all resignations. Good employees uh uh that we appreciate their time. And then Nancy Griffo has been a very long time specialized parah in our uh general preschool

and um she will be retiring at the end of the year. So really appreciate um her efforts. Um no, uh classified employment overall. Uh this is a pretty light time of year from an employment perspective. Um you will see as we have this year on our certified side especially um some of our certified employees that know they're going to um retire have let us know fairly early which is actually a nice thing for us um just allows us to start the process is really we're getting we're just now starting is really I kind of view it about about um you know mid January is when you start to shift from just thinking about this year to also thinking about next year as well. And so we actually today we just posted several positions based on

uh that are all no new positions just based on some retirements um and uh things like that that we knew as we know there could be some internal interest as well and it just kind of helps us get the the uh the ball started as um we felt very good about our hires past several years. We want to make sure we do that again. Um overnight trips, you always approve overnight trips. Um uh this is for a cheer uh uh tournament as we do some competitive cheer. Uh it's been going really well. Our kids have really enjoyed that. Um and so this is for their itinerary for an overnight trip. Um every year you have uh we have several different uhus with uh different colleges for college credit plus. Um this is Kent States. Um

we in-house we do um everything with Ashlin, but we have kids that go to Kent State um either online or in person. So this just allows them to do that and then get the CCP uh credit through the through the high school. Uh lastly, I have anou with our Worester Education Association um which really is when um contract changes between the collective bargaining agreement. Um we don't do this a lot. um uh typically as neither neither side wants to. We had kind of a um confusion with uh some steps language and some new sick leave language that we actually just had put in the new collective bargaining agreement. And so uh this new language reflects those changes. Um WA has approved this on their side. In order for it to become official, um it has

to be approved by the board side as well. So that's why that's on here on the consent agenda. Um that's all I have this evening. All right. Thank you. Any questions from anybody on those? >> So, how long have they been doing that um that cheerleading? >> Uh this is I think our second year of doing some level of cheer competition. Um >> they I think they were at a something this weekend as well on Facebook. Yeah, it's been good. Yeah, I think our kids have enjoyed it. >> Chance to do that. >> Anything else? All right, Mrs. Walty. Um, Degan, >> yes. >> Ner, >> yes. >> Kleinhads, yes. Starcher, yes. Good, right? >> Yes. >> All right. Um, as Mr. Tudtor mentioned, we don't um have anything on the regular agenda for treasurer

or superintendent. No new business or old business. So, at this point, we'll move to public participation on non-aggenda items, please. First one we have is Robis from 3135 Tam. >> Thank you. Um first of all I thank the new board for their work to come. This is going to be a challenging year, I'm sure, based upon uh what I've heard from the December meeting. Uh came tonight prepared to talk about the use of cops to finance school funding. As late as sometime this morning, that was on the agenda today. I see that's been removed. So, most of my comments will be reserved for if and when that occurs. But I do want to say as the board considers funding of a new school building that they consider not just the short-term impact but also the

long-term impact in terms of taxpayer sentiment. I also want to say that as you go through this, please be transparent to the process recognizing and openly stating that a certificate of participation sounds great. Um, sounds rather innocuous, but in when you really look at it, what it is is a long-term lease where you're creating the obligation, financial obligation, not creating the means to fund it, and you're relying on taxators to do that through. So as a result of that, the cost of doing a cop is higher than a than a levy a bond. That's not my opinion. That's factual information that's provided by squire and patent probably to every school district in the state of Ohio. So, as you're going through this, if you decide to make those comparisons, make sure you compare and present

to the community what it's going to cost in terms of additional millions to do a copy versus bond. Secondly, I would say if if you have great confidence that this plan, which is a new plan and so new that it's being roughed out on the back of an envelope at this moment, if you have great confidence in this plan, put it to the community. let them vote on it. This is their community. It's their tax dollars. You're you're going to spend probably $80 million on a facility. I think that decision goes beyond five people, a majority of 30. So, as you go forward, please take those into consideration. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> The second one is Byron Kurt Williams, 1465 Logan Lane. Are the goals set by staff's US training to help principles

and teachers interpret the value added reports being generated by student growth realistically useful at the classroom level? I.e. is this derivative loop that is too far removed from the basic needs of the students. >> Thank you. >> Anything else? This is Richards. Nope. Okay. All right. Thank you. Thank you for that input. We appreciate it. Um, at this point, we move um to section 12, which is uh just comments and questions um from board members. I guess I would just start with welcoming Clayton and Bonnie to the board. So, this is their first official meeting. We did have an organizational meeting, I guess, a couple weeks ago that they started and were sworn in. Um, but welcome. We look forward to working with you. >> Thank you. >> So, >> thank you. >> Does anybody

else have anything that they would like to add? Um, I had the wonderful pleasure of being at Worcester High School on Saturday. Um, I say this every time. I'm going to continue to say it probably indefinitely. Um, we had a swim meet, we had a basketball game tournament, a species debate tournament, and you know, the building is hopping. And I've said this so many times, I just adore the custodial staff. I had the pleasure of seeing Vanessa. I talked to all the custodians. They are outstanding. I mean, we have, you know, a thousand people streaming through here eating, judging, leaving a mess. They are wonderful. So, I want to mention everyone's name, but I can't. And we had to feed everybody. And so, um, in addition to Vanessa, who I adore, um, Greg um was

in the kitchen. Um, the food was available, everybody was wonderful. And so, I'm just going to mention that because, you know, day in and day out, they're here, a lot goes on on a busy Saturday. and they're kind of running the show and so I just want to mention that and say how grateful I am and how nice it is to see them. Thank you for that opportunity. >> No, that was a great point. That was such a fun good day Saturday. We had tons of people here. It was amazing >> and they did a great job. >> Very friendly, kind, helpful. Awesome. Awesome. >> Mr. Tudtor, will we have a student rep? >> We will. Uh there was it was illness tonight and commitments both. >> Okay. Yeah. Okay. But we will >> wheelchair

basketball is happening and then my replacement is sick. >> Okay. Next one. >> Okay. Very good. Thank you for that. Does anybody else have anything? >> Yeah. Two things. Um want to make note tonight. We approved a couple resignations of valuable staff people with Katie and Melissa and also Nancy. People are veteran, you know, and it's hard to replace good people. So, good luck to them with that. And then I also want to mention that last year after the national championship in football, you gave us the next two days off. >> Two days of snow days in a row or cold days or whatever. So it must be some kind of 365 days later. So >> yeah, >> that's it. >> Yeah. Not not not a not a too hard a call yesterday for sure.

Um yeah, I think the only thing we would note is um we did remove uh the facility discussion which was just discussion this evening initially. We were not going to have any action items. Um I think there's just uh uh some more uh information to prepare. I want to make sure that are prepared for us before we have some of that discussion. Uh and then there definitely will be open discussion uh that I'll be looking forward to have you guys have. Uh and we'll make put that on the agenda when we're ready. >> Yeah. Thank you for clarifying that, G. All right, nothing else. Um, look at the future board meetings. So, our next regular uh board meeting is Tuesday, February 17th and then March 17th and April 21st. So, just as a reminder, um

we are not scheduling work sessions proactively, but we'll schedule those as needed. Um, no no need for an executive session tonight. Correct. So at this point, um, if I could please get a motion to adjourn the board of education meeting. >> So moved. >> Second. >> All right. Thank you everybody for attending. >> Oh. Oh, I'm sorry. We need to vote. Yep. I forgot. Uh, N. >> Yes. >> Degan. Yes. >> Good. Right. >> Yes. >> Starter. Yes. Klein. >> Yes. Now, thank you very
