her classroom and she enjoys helping even the younger students in her room. She also enjoys all the adults in the room and she's always ready to learn. So congratulations on our next student of the month is our kindergarten student. It's Mr. Matt Fier and he was nominated by two teachers by Mrs. Grath and by Miss Manin. He's very cooperative and he works hard each day and you're always willing to lend a helping hand. He's kind and respectful and has a good attitude and it is proof and that it makes him ranger strong. So let's hear it from Mrs. Marie Julio from the parents as

she comes up. We will take a brief recess when we're done for pictures. So, if everybody could hang tight uh until we have a chance to take that group head. >> Good evening. Hi everybody. Um tonight I have the pleasure of introducing Liberty's two students of the month. First we have Ella Langel. She's a first grade student in Mrs. Wiganhorn's class. And Mrs. Wiganhorn wrote that Ella comes to school ready to learn every day. She is a hard worker, a good friend to others, and a quiet leader in the class. She always follows our Ranger strong rules of being respectful, responsible, safe, and kind. She is such a wonderful person, and we are so lucky to have her at Liberty. Keep up all of your hard work, Ella. We're so proud of you. And then

for second grade we have Iverson Pittinger. Iverson is a second grade student in Mrs. Cypus classroom. And she wrote that I am so excited to celebrate Iverson as our student of the month. He works hard every day and always wants to improve especially in reading. He has shown wonderful growth and comes to school ready to learn with a positive attitude. Iverson also works well with his peers and calmly talks through situations showing kindness and maturity. We are so proud of his effort and progress. Keep up the amazing work I can do. Good evening everyone. Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone. Um, thanks for being here. Got four students from ENRACK and we always enjoy um, celebrating our students and all the the great things are going in our building. Um, our first student is Vanessa

in the fourth grade. Vanessa, come on. Vanessa comes to school every day with a smile on her face. And this is absolutely the truth. She says hi to me every morning. >> She is sure to say hello to every single person who enters the classroom. Vanessa is a great friend, demonstrating kindness, compassion, and concern for others. She is flexible and enjoys learning new things, especially new songs in choir. Vanessa can be heard singing around the building, not only the top hits of the year, but also the upcoming choir concert songs. >> Vanessa brings so much joy to our school, and we are so happy to have her as part of the AEL classroom. Congratulations, Next up is fourth grader Madden Yonov. >> Here's some great things about Madden. Madden was nominated by his classmates for

student of the month for teamwork. Madden is a great role model for other students and is a natural leader. He is always listening when others are talking, waiting his turn, and being a good sport. He's always willing to help others, and makes choices that benefit our classroom community. His classmates said, "Anytime we have to use teamwork, he thinks of a plan. And he is a kind person who is always helping and always gives 110% all the time." Great job, Madden. Congratulations. Our next student of the monkey is sixth grader Celia Donald. >> Here's some great things about Cely. Ready? >> The sixth grade green studio is pleased to recognize Celia O'Donnell as our student of the month. Sely is a focused learner who comes to class prepared and follows through on all class expectations. She's

engaged during lessons, participates often, and she is willing to support any struggling classmates. Sely is a motivated learner who doesn't stop trying until she has given her best. She will choose to redo an assignment so that she better understands the material. Sely is a well-rounded individual who balances her school work along with extracurricular activities such as soccer and softball. Sely is a great role model and we are fortunate to have her on our team. Congratulations. And last but certainly not least is eighth grader Marissa Yugosi. Marissa is an outstanding student in all her classes. We know we can count on her to be respectful to all, participate in class, and to work diligently. Marissa is mature beyond her grade level and is a role model student for all. She is also personable and so friendly.

She exemplifies all the Ranger Strong attributes and will be highly successful in her future endeavors. Thank you, Marissa, for being a wonderful addition to the eight orange studio this year. Congratulations. and I will turn it over to Mr. Durkin. >> Thank you. I am honored to be here tonight to recognize two of our amazing eighth graders at RHTA. Um our first learner that we're going to be recognizing tonight is Gia Cmore and she was um nominated by coach Wy who had this to say about Gia. Gia truly exemp exemplifies what it means to be Ranger Strong. She takes ownership of her learning by checking in with features, seeking feedback, and using that feedback to improve and revise her work. Gia is also a dependable teammate who consistently completes her work and contributes meaningfully to group

projects. One classmate shared, "I love when I get paired with Gia because I know she will do her part. In addition to her strong work ethic, Gia is kind, respectful, and works well with everyone in the classroom. She is always willing to lend a hand and often volunteers to assist others. Keep up the great work, Gia. Our second um student that we are recognizing tonight is Parker Novak. And Parker was nominated by Coach Sebachin. And this is what Coach Sebachin had to say about. Parker has demonstrated exceptional dedication and work ethic in robotics class. After efficiently completing his own tasks, he took the initiative to mentor and support his peers. It is inspiring to see Parker embrace such a natural leadership role within our classroom. Keep being Ranger Strong, Parker. Turn it over to Mrs.

Pnight from the high school. All right. So, I have two wonderful students to introduce tonight. First is 10th grader Miss Quinn Dylan. So, Quinn is a 10th grader and she was nominated by her teacher who had this fit. Quinn is an excellent choice for student of the month because of the remarkable growth in confidence and maturity that she has demonstrated this year. She's come out of her shell and continues to push herself to participate, lead, and engage in class. Quinn is dedicated to her coursework and consistently gives 100% effort in everything that she does. She approaches tasks with focus and responsibility, showing pride in her work and a strong commitment to her learning. In addition, Quinn, you are kind, inclusive, and respectful, and you help create a welcoming and supporting supportive classroom environment. So, Miss

Quinn, um, she also had this to share. She is actively involved both in and out of school. She's a member of our girls varsity golf team, and she is also engaged in Champions for Life, Heat Club, and Able Not Label. Um Quinn is looking to hopefully pursue a career as a special education teacher because she's inspired by her passion for helping others in making a difference in students lives. So congratulations and our second student of the month is Mr. Austin Norris. Austin is a 12th grader and he was nominated by the teacher, Mrs. Carlo, and she had this to say. Over the past few years, Austin has shown impressive growth, maturity, and confidence. He's kind, positive, and well-liked by peers and teachers, and he consistently brings joy and encouragement to the classroom. He has become

more independent, responsible, and engaged in both academic and vocational activities. He is the able not label assistant manager and he also successfully holds a job in the community and is dedicated toward. He takes pride in his work, helps others when he can and approaches each day with enthusiasm and determination. His willingness to connect with others and trying new challenges reflects his continued growth. His perseverance, kindness, and strong work ethic make him a truly deserving student of the month. So congratulations and halfler for our staff members of the >> good evening everybody. Um it always makes my heart happy once a month to hear all the great things that our kids are doing and to see such great support system um and the families that are here with these kids tonight. So, thank you for being

here. Uh, every month I have the privilege of um talking about and bragging about two of our wonderful educators and staff members. Um, I also want to publicly thank all of our teachers that show up every single month when they nominate students. So, we have a lot of teachers in the audience that are solely here because their kids won. And that happens a lot and um I just want to say thank you because I always love seeing that and I don't always get a chance to say thank you. So, um, thank you to all of those staff members for being here as well. Um, this month, our first staff member of the month winner is Mrs. Jordan Mulligan. >> Mrs. Small was hired in July of 2017 as an eighth grade science teacher at the

academic center where she still currently uh resides today. U prior to joining us, she did some teaching in the North in North Carolina and also at the Cleveland Arts and Social Sciences Academy. During her career at NRCS, she has participated in the building leadership team, the professional development committee, and currently is on the supplemental review committee. Um, in addition, she has served as a department chairperson, participated in a science fusion training and coached middle school's girls track and is currently our middle school cheerleading coach. Jordan was recently recognized by a parent who had this to share. Coach Mulligan demonstrated exceptional responsiveness, care, and leadership. She acted swiftly to ensure my students safety, coordinated appropriately with staff, and maintain clear communication with the family. Her continued presence, reassurance, and proactive support throughout the incident and afterward

reflect a level of dedication that goes well above the standard expectations. Overall, the coaching staff's commitment to students safety, emotional support, and responsible supervision is highly commendable and we are deeply appreciative for their efforts. in addition um to her exceptional care and dedication. She's an outstanding educator um and a tremendous asset to our district. Congratulations. >> Our second employee this evening is Mr. Tyler White. He is busy working downstairs. >> I um would like to say that Mr. White currently works as a general maintenance uh worker in our athletics department. He has returned to the district in August of 2025 um where he currently was with us from 2020 to 2023 and we were happy and lucky and fortunate to get him back. >> Um one of Tyler's colleagues had this to share about him.

He always goes above and beyond when I ask for help as well as completing all of his regular job responsibilities. He does his best to fix things in a timely manner and keeps me updated with communication. Um, if you've attended any of our athletic events, you know that Tyler takes exceptional pride and care in our athletic facilities um, for our student athletes and our entire community and we are very fortunate to have him back as a member of our maintenance team. So, I thank him for his dedication. Again, I'd like to just thank all of our parents and staff members who nominate our staff members of the month each month. It's just such a nice way to recognize some of the wonderful things that our staff has perfectly. Thank you. >> Well, congratulations to all

our students and staff of the month. This is always our favorite meeting of each month. Recognize our staff and especially our students. It's amazing how little they are. Then to see them come up through the district. So, congratulations to all of you. We will take a brief recess. We'll get some pictures and then you're more than welcome to come back. It's cold outside. We're gonna have an amazing meeting after the recess or you can enjoy the rest of your evening. It's up to you. So, thank you. >> I can have all my students with their certificates come on up. That would be great. >> Going to go stand up here. >> Go ahead and call this meeting back to order. >> Um, we have a building report from the high school that we're excited to

hear about tonight. So, we'll get started here. I'm also joined not only with the rest of the high school administrative team, but I have some students hiding over there that are going to pop around here in a few as well to help tell you guys what we do all day. >> There it is. Okay, perfect. This is this is great. So, um, of course, as you know, our our entire mission as a district is to empower our students to design their preferred future. And so, that's very much what we guide every single thing that we do every single day. So, what we're going to talk about today is going to be divided up by our building goals. So, our building leadership team worked together at the end of last year to set five goals that

we are working on throughout the next several years. and they're all tied to district goals as well as that ultimate mission of empowering students to design their preferred future. So, we're going to go through each of the five goals briefly. Um, starting with goal number one, and goal number one is all about student achievement. So, I'm going to hand it over to Dr. Dr. Winton to talk a little bit about student achievement. >> All right, it's good to see everyone again. It's nice to meet new members. Um, this is last year's report card for achievement. There are five categories for the high school. Achievement, progress, gap closing, graduation, and college, career, workforce, and military readiness. We received a rating of 4.5 stars out of five. So, an excellent rating. Achievement, progress, and gap closing all

constitute um are evaluated based based on how we did on the Ohio State test. Hence why they're so important. Um, achievement and progress are one-third of the report card grade. Achievement is your performance index score. So, how well students did on the actual test that year. Progress um is used the state of Ohio uses a metric called value added. It's their statistical metric and it measures how students performed against other students in the state. So, how our biology students did compared to how biology students did across the state. And then gap closing are your subgroups. So, you have your economically disadvantaged students, your special education students, um your race, your racial and ethnic minority students. and it measures how they did um this current year um on the state tests. Graduation rate is self-explanatory. It's

how many kids graduate in a four four-year cohort and then they also measure how many graduate in this five-year cohort. And in college career workforce and military readiness has not been scored yet, but it will be here in the future. And it kind of measures how well our kids do on our AP exams. Uh how many what percent of our students are enlisting in the military, how many students are earning certificates through works keys assessments um and things of that sort. Next slide, please. And then my last slide is just the second look at student achievement. So, this is a five-year uh progression report on how our scores have been. Um, it's very difficult to see, but you can you can tell there's a number of categories. There's how students score. The one thing that

you don't want to have is a lot of kids that are on tested because they count towards your performance. Index score is a zero. So, you want to see make sure all the kids are getting tested. It's hard to see, but that trend has been going down over time. And then you have limited and basic, which are the two blue lines at the bottom of your screen. That is not considered a passing score on the test. You have proficient, which is orange. And then you have the next three, which are accomplished, advanced, and advanced plus. So you can see the number of um accomplished. You have stayed consistent, but the numbers of advanced, and advanced plus, the two green bars at the top are continuing to rise. So the goal is to get kids from

the accomplished area into advanced and advanced plus. All right, next slide, please. Hi, I'm Kelsey. I'm one of our assistants um at the high school. Um so I'm here to talk about um goals two and goal three. We pump them together. Um they are both um relevant for MTSS or our multi-ter system of support um that we offer at the high school. Um this is to support all students um with interventions that um you know immediate time a student might need uh extra time on a test or they might need um a graphic organizer when they're writing a paper. Just some of those extra things in place to um help our students um access the curriculum and to be successful um without having a formal plan um such as an IEP or a 504. Um

this flowchart here kind of highlights our um referral process. So, um, all of these referrals typically they come from the teachers, they might come, um, from a family member reaching out, they might come from one of the administrators or the counselors. Um, so it kind of helps the teachers go through and identify whether or not it's appropriate for the student to be, um, referred to MTSS at this time. Um, our MTSS bands meet um, by grade level. We meet once monthly. Um, and then the other thing that we've highlighted here is just kind of our almost like our menu of interventions. Um, I know it's kind of hard to see, but they're broken up um into social emotional intervention, behavioral intervention, and academic interventions. Um, we have tier one, which are kind of considered universal

supports. Um, tier two, the yellow, is um, something that might be done more in a small group. And then that tier three are for um, the most intensive needs, and those are done more on a one-on-one basis. Thank you. >> Hi everyone, I'm Melissa Serillo. I'm one of the other assistants at the high school. Um so I just wanted to share part of our goal for our college career workforce and military readiness. There's so much within this goal um that we're working towards and actually in the future I think you have um a full presentation just about it but essentially um you know the readiness for our students after they leave the high school um like Dr. Whitten had said we didn't have a score at that time um but we are working on gathering

that score. So in the past we had a 55.5% um readiness score essentially that our students were prepared um in those categories of college career workforce and military readiness >> one more you fart >> there you go perfect so um essentially what are we providing to our students as opportunities to um increase our CCW scores our pre-apprentice pre apprenticehips um our CTE pathways, Ohio means job seals course and grad planning um future now events and our CNA program. Um my personal favorite are future now events. Um we have so many vendors that will be able to come into the high school and just share with our students um what is out there and available to them. Um so if you're ever available to come in and see that um in person, it's a great experience.

And so then just kind of an estimated um percentage of our students that are considered um CCWMR or readiness. Um we have an increase and it's it's showing about 62.6% of our students are ready in that category and it's actually a little bit higher as well. So that is all for me. >> Which brings us into goal five which is the good part. Come on up. So um goal five is all about ranger strong culture. So that is what we're doing working with staff and with students on how we can keep improving and keep growing our ranger strong culture. And so I've had the absolute pleasure to work with some of these fine folks behind me um as my student adviserss on how we can what is going great within the raer strong culture and

how can we continue to improve. So, one of the things that we did as a project this year is we surveyed students about their feelings about our culture and um and about school. And we received some really good results. So, and we're always looking to continue to improve. So, first off, um in our first corner here, the question was, I feel like I belong at this school. And overwhelmingly, both the uh purple and the green is that they do. They either agree or they strongly agree. So um and then yellow is neutral. So that's a very teenager answer. Um but we uh can very much say that the vast majority of our students feel that they belong here and that it is their school. Um same with I think a really positive aspect of Ridgeville

is that the teachers care about students as a person. And again the vast majority 75% or so of students agree or strongly agree with of course that 25% that's neutral. Um, we also have students that are very actively involved and they'll tell you a little bit about it, but students find it easy to get involved. About 75% also agree that it's easy to get involved. And then the the final question is that the overall mood of the school is positive. We're still sitting at a lot of neutrals, but the majority are either neutral or positive, and we're always looking to improve. So, um, part another part of our project was we worked together and I asked these students to talk about what are the top five things that makes us ranger strong. So, they're going

to each talk a little bit about what we do. So, take it away, guys. Our first up, we have Reagan and Bobby. Robbie, sorry. >> Next slide. Thank you. >> So, uh, I'm Robbie. I'm in 11th grade. >> I'm Reagan. I'm also in 11th grade. and uh we wanted to talk about some of the Ranger Strong culture we have at our school. I know I go to just about every football game I can and what I see from within those student sections is a lot of people uh proud to be a Ranger. They are following the themes. It's just an overall a good atmosphere to be in. She can probably tell you a little bit more than more about that than I can. She's a cheerleader. But um >> I complimenting you. >> I do

cheer. Um looking into the stands, you can see that like in a lot of people follow our themes. A lot of people do what they're told, especially at assemblies where we have the people come down and really participate with their peers. I think like people really like doing that. They like being involved. And I feel like not every school has that. Usually at away games, we have like the biggest student section, which is a really big deal because like some people have like five kids, but even when we're in like the final games of the season, we still have a huge show up, which is great. >> And you talked about how many people want to get involved. I mean, we just uh heard that 75% of people says that it's easy to get involved,

and I would agree. I think it's very easy to if you want to be involved then you definitely have that opportunity. >> Yes. Awesome. And next up we have Payton. Come on down to talk about our next season. >> Hi, my name is Payton. I am in ninth grade and I will be talking about diversity of classes and clubs. So I am going to start more general and then I will get into the more specific classes I want to talk about. But in general, we offer 14 honors courses, 25 advanced placement courses, nine onampus CCP classes, 23 23 English related classes, 23 math related classes, 21 science related classes, and 26 social social studies related classes. Now starting with my first specific course I want to talk about which is a community class which is

art actions which if there is a few pictures of them on here right there right there and then the very colorful picture you see in that corner. They are a class that goes out to local businesses and they paint murals for them or just different displays that they want. They did pulp KT insurance between the bun and they did the mural in the able not legal shop. Their future projects will be fiesta jalapenos and smash pizza. They earn two seals for this. They earn your Ohio means job seals and their pre-apprenticeship seal. And it is a full credit class, but it's only one semester, but it is a block class, so it takes about 3 hours. This class is offered to juniors and seniors as you need a license for the class. Next, I will

be talking about chemistry. So, I got this from a junior that I know. Her name is Carly, but she wanted me to talk about the lab that they did. She really liked it. It's about changing the color of fire. I don't know much about it, but she said that she very much enjoyed it. And then turning pennies golden, which you can see right here, which is turning it from copper into the colored golden. Next, I will be talking about our cooking classes, which we offer a wide range of them, somewhere around seven, and many different skills are included from regular cooking to baking. And different backgrounds are showcased in that class as well. And then their STEM and PBL classes are more project based. They're mixed groups. And according to my friend Alexis, who is

in them, because she does STEM algebra 1, it is a lot easier to make friends since you are put with a lot of people that you don't know all the time. >> Thank you. Sounds good. Next, we have Aaron. >> Hi, my name is Aaron and I'm a junior and I'm here to talk about the approachable and relatable staff and administration at our high school. And so, when you're walking through the halls of our high school, you're sure to see um our staff and administration saying hi and joking around with our students. And also our staff are extremely willing to stay before, during, and after school to help students with with any score that they're struggling with, especially in English or math lab. And finally, we also have a lot of events that help build

student and staff relationships, such as the um staffy student basketball game that happened earlier this year. And it was a huge hit for our students. We had a lot of people show up and it was a great time to build like relationships between our um staff and students. And then we also have stuff like the Halloween costumes where people including the staff dress up and it's a great time. And we als we just have a great um staff and administration relationship with the students and it's great to see that with our range culture. >> Thank you. And next we have >> Hi, my name is Leighton. I'm a freshman here at NRHS and I'm going to talk about one of the many wonderful programs we offer here. So, Able Not Label is a program and

it openly invites students of all abilities and it allows them to build skills relating to business and entrepreneurship. Um, this program promotes a lot of inclusion at our school and builds a lot of foundation for preparing real life job skills needed for any future endeavors students might want to pursue. So, a couple things that Able Not Label does is they create ranger gear and they also have capable confections which has a cart that goes around in the mornings with drinks at our school as well as treats that are located across the cafeteria. So, um we also with Able Not Label host a lot of fun seasonal events. Um this also includes Monster Mash, which everyone always loves. Um, so overall, Able Not Label like really empowers students and allows them to see a lot of

the valuable abilities they have and it fosters unity amongst our student body here at NRHS. And another great thing I want to highlight is that this program separates us from a lot of other schools and is unique to North Ridge High School as not many other high schools, if any, offer a program like this in our county. And that's just one of the really great things that we have here. Yeah. >> And last but not least, Fiona. >> Hi, I'm Fiona. I'm a junior and I'm here to talk about our student leadership. So, one key aspect that our school has that relates to student leadership is the fundraisers that we have such as the entrepreneurship partner project where it was very successful and also our pink out live like errand fundraiser at Public Games where

that also sold out. Another key aspect is the clubs that we have. We have so many clubs where students can get involved and take initiative such as key club with their main events such as like breakfast with Santa where many of the students split off into like groups and a couple students took charge and were the leaders of that those groups and they were able to um gather successfully create like a good event. And there's also like student council with their veterans the assembly where much much of there's so many so much behind the scenes thing and I only mentioned like two big clubs but there are so many other clubs that students can get involved through such as Barc NHS and from Red Cross and yeah many clubs we have >> so thank you

so much. Thank you to our students who gave up their their evening. Thank you guys >> and we hope that tells you a little bit about what we got going on every day. >> So, a couple questions. Cheerleader, does he really follow along in the student section? >> I mean, I can show you pictures. >> I don't think I'm a true freshman. You got to be excited that you'll be the first graduating class from the new high school. Sorry for the rest of you guys. >> Wish we could have got it done sooner, but >> I do have to say in the student survey, we asked them what we wanted to start, stop, or continue doing. And one of the things they want us to start construction faster. So, that's my advice to you guys.

You know, >> guys, awesome job. >> Thank you. Uh we have no announcements this evening. So here's an opportunity for hearing of the public. If you'd like to address the board of education, we allocate three minutes per participant. We ask that you state your name and sign in and provide your number. That way we can swing back around with the appropriate party to address any concerns you have. Move into the consent agenda. Is recommended that the board of education approve the consent agenda resolution as presented. >> Okay. Second move by Mr. Hanks by Mr. Griggsby. Is there any dispens call, please? >> Mr. Hayne, >> yes. >> Mr. Griggsby, >> yes. >> Mr. Vaka, >> yes. >> Mr. W. >> Yes. >> Finance report. We have one item for consideration under the finance report. We

have a resolution to approve the financial statements and reports of interest and investments for the month of February. I move to approve the finance items in one. >> Second. Sorry. >> Moved by myself, second by Mr. Griggsby. Is there any discussion? Roll call, please. >> Mr. Roco? >> Yes. >> Mr. Griggsby? >> Yes. >> Mr. Haynes? >> Yes. >> Mr. Wleman? >> Yes. >> Great. Moving into other board business with the human resources report. Mr. Hayes. >> Thank. We have a few items to consider under the resources report. Two certified staff contract adjustments. One certified staff resignation and related agreement. two certified staff resignations, one nursing staff resignation, three support staff resignations, one support staff substitute resignations. I move to approve the human resources report and one second. Moved by Mr. Haynes, second by Mr.

Graves.
