Call uh this meeting to order. Uh madam treasurer, please call the role. >> Mr. Siguin >> here. >> Missurfin. Mr. Gart >> here. >> Mr. Hower >> here. >> Mr. Parker >> here. >> Okay. If we can all rise for our pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Okay. Thank you for coming tonight. It's kind of a blizzard out there. Um I will introduce our our board members. Mr. Bry Parker and Mr. Mike Deart to my right, Mr. Len Hower to my left and our superintendent Ann Slash and treasurer Colleen Abolt. Annie's just running a few minutes late because of the weather. So, okay, moving on. Board
recognition. Looks like we have something. We sure do. Um I think we've had uh different buildings honored in the past, but um positive behavior in uh intervention supports. Um Denise Blat really works hard um with her team on this and she's going to introduce some building awards. >> Sure. >> For the state. >> So thank you and um thanks to all of your teams. Uh, I had Carrie Circon come up with me because these awards for were for last year's recognition. So last year Carrie was a brick. So she helped a lot of the buildings still work through those stages of like the TFI and all those fun things you have to do to submit. So um, all of our buildings earned awards again and we were also um, noted the first district in the
SST2. We got that award in the spring as a whole district to earn that award um, within the northeast Ohio region. So that was awesome. Um, so if we could have Eastern Heights come up, come on up. They earned a silver award. >> And want to do a quick little picture? >> Sure. Um, I earned silver AWARD AS WELL. ALL RIGHT. The early childhood village also earned silver. Hamilton earned silver. Northwood Elementary also earned SILVER AWARD. UM, WESTWOOD Elementary also earned the silver award. Eastern Heights Middle Award. Northwood Middle earned the silver award. Westwood Middle Silver and EHS earned the bronze award. So, great job everybody. The EHS team. >> Great job. All right. Thank you. >> Thank you everyone. Okay, moving along. Um, visitor comments. It does not look like we have any today.
No visitors. >> Okay, no presentations. Meeting minutes. The November 19th meeting minutes have been posted. Hopefully, we've all had time to look at them. Uh, do I have a motion to accept the meeting minutes? >> So, move second. >> Have any questions? No questions. Please call the role. >> Mr. Parker, >> hi. >> Mr. Gart, >> I >> Mr. Hower, >> hi. >> Mr. Sewin, >> I. Motion carries. Board of Education items. We have none tonight. Uh, so we will move on to the treasurer action items. Thank you. I have two of them. To accept the financial report for the month of November 2025 and to acknowledge and express appreciation with all the donations. Thank you for the VFW and to Clifford Wilson and Melanie Wilson for their donation of $800 to the AI High
Orchestra. Thank you. That's it. >> Okay. Do I have a motion to accept the treasurer action items? >> A motion. >> Okay. Um, any questions? >> No questions. Madam Treasurer, please call the RO. >> Mr. Hower. >> Hi. >> Mr. Gart. >> Hi. >> Mr. Parker. >> Hi. >> Mr. Sewin >> I motion carries. Uh treasure other >> we have an expulsion hearing. So to appoint the members for primary and then the remaining three as the alternatives for a hearing date for Wednesday, January 7th at 4 p.m. >> Okay. Um Mike and myself are going to do it. >> Okay. Thank you. That that's it. So do we have a motion to approve the treasurer other items? We have a second. >> Second. Madam >> Parker, please call the role. >> Uh, Mr. Parker, >>
I. >> Mr. Garter, >> I. >> Mr. Hower, >> I. >> Mr. Se >> I. Motion carries. >> Do you have a report? I actually do have a report. I go. Okay. Um, so we're continue to work on the framework for the reduction plan and update uh the financial forecast. The financial forecast timeline has changed. It is must now be completed, approved and sent to o odue by the last day of February rather than the end of May. So my forecast presentation will be presented on the second meeting of February instead of May now. And we also have an update on the timeline for the framework of the reduction plan. Um you want to >> Sure. Sure. Um just a a heads up on what we've been doing since um no what November 4th. Uh
we have been meeting with departments, with buildings, with cabinet um and we have a meeting next Wednesday with um the EA um on listening to um opinions and ideas for um the reduction plan. And what we've been doing is is putting things down and costing them out and seeing where we're at. talking to enough people, you know, uh some of us have been through this before, some of us have not. Um and just looking at um what to include within the plan that makes sense. Uh, and then what we're looking at, and I think, um, uh, did talk to Miss Sequin, uh, through a text, um, after I sent an email that we're looking at, uh, working with the board in January. Um, as you know, um, we have retirements coming in, which changes the
picture every time one comes in. I'm not sure everyone realizes the layered detail that goes into this because of lure because of um uh it's it's kind of a a puzzle. I've always said it's a big puzzle that you have to put together because you know someone I can remember the last time we did this um we had um a family consumer science teacher that we um that had never taught anything other than that in the district and then we found out she had also had a special education degree. So, uh, many of our our staff are in more than one on more than one list as far as if there's a reduction, um, and and where that goes. So, it's very layered, very, um, very time consuming as to look at how this all
plays out. We are also waiting for our attorney to give us legal opinions to make sure we're doing it correctly. and buy the book uh based on the collective bargaining agreement and also policy and law. So, we're working with um Donna Andrews um and her team from Pep and Wagner on that because it's very important we follow those things. Um as soon as as we get a plan and have costed it out, we will then present it. Um we're looking at I know um putting the who to a lot of it at the end of January and then at the February 4th meeting doing a public presentation of the plan of which you all have you know um been discussed in um executive session on the specific people. That's an allowable um way to do
it. And then we will put that out um on February 4th and working with Amy Higgins in the communications department on inviting the public to come at the end of that meeting to hear the plan and ask any questions they might have. That way um the public um also has a chance to to hear it and ask questions. So that's kind of where we're at at this point. Um, again, it's it's, you know, I it's not as easy as it appears to to to go through all those layers. And also we want to be very um intentional about how this is this is um rolled out because you know it's never easy telling someone that you know they're they're being reduced or laid off and we want to make sure um they don't find out
any other way than us telling them it um you know to see it on a list on somewhere isn't the right way to do that. So, we're we're being very intentional on how this is all done and um looking at, you know, the best areas. Um there's never a good area when when when we're in situations like this, but there are um I always say if we can stay as far away from what we do each day and teaching the kids, um that's that's always our best avenue. So, that's where we are now. Um we will send periodic updates so you know. Um, but right now we're in that collection mode of hearing voices and and ideas from people and then we'll move forward and costing it out and talking to the board and all
that. >> Thank you. I think that's um excellent that you're involving the community. >> Um they, you know, they have spoken by, you know, via not passing the levies that they felt the need for for this. So, I think being transparent is is a great idea. Thank you. Anyone else? That's it. Okay. Uh, moving along. Superintendent action items. Okay. Thank you. First of all, to approve the information technology cyber security plan. Uh we have to have this on an annual basis. Also to approve the ACE wellness center um contract for the 2526 school year. Um the clinical affiliation agreement between EHO Lauren County Community College and the um city schools for the occupational therapist contract. Um that's basically kind of like a student teacher contract except they would be certified occupational therapy assistants. So they
would come and and be like a student teacher in the district. Um also Oh no, that would be the motion then. >> Okay. Uh do we have a motion to approve the uh superintendent action items? >> So I'll move to a second. Second >> Andy guy. >> Um, >> is Andy here? >> Come on. Come on. >> Uh, no. If no questions, um, please call the role. Mr. Godart, >> here. I think you're here somewhere else. >> Uh, Mr. Hower, >> I. >> Mr. Parker, >> I. >> Miss Seuin, >> I. Motion carries. Uh, superintendent personnel items. >> Thank you. First of all, to approve the appointment of the following substitute teachers as listed below. Also, to approve the appointment of a classified staff as listed below. Um, next to approve the unpaid leave of
absence of classified staff as described below. We have retirement uh of a classified staff member, Joy Bainbridge. She has been in the district 32 years. >> So we we thank her and wish her well. She is um retiring effect of January 1. Also to approve the resignation of the following classified administrator. Jeff has been with us a number of years great employee and we wish him well in his next endeavor. Also to approve the unpaid leave of absence of the following certified staff as detailed below. um to approve the unpaid educational leave of absence for the following certified staff member. This is a building substitute that's doing a student teaching. Also to approve the retirement of the following certified staff. Um Amy Chismar has been with the district for 36 years. Penny Herdman 34 years.
Janice Lzeski 36 years. and Judy Taki 36 years. So, a lot of years there and we wish them well. They've been phenomenal employees and uh I'm sure they're going to enjoy retirement, but they will miss us. Um then to approve the following district and non-district game workers through athletic services as listed below. To approve the following athletic supplemental contracts for district certified and classified and non-district coaches as listed below. And that concludes my personnel action items. >> Okay. Do we have a um motion to approve superintendent's personnel action items? So move. >> We have a second. >> Second. >> Okay. If no questions, please call the role. >> Mr. Star. >> I. >> Mr. Hower. >> Hi. >> Mr. Garter. >> I. >> Mr. Parker. >> Hi. >> Mrs. Sein. >> I. Motion carries. Uh,
do we have a superintendent report? >> Sure. Just a a few announcements. Obviously, it's the holiday season and uh lots of concerts going on over at the PAC, so please uh look at that. Um, we also this weekend, Friday and Saturday, have at 7 pm the uh holiday spectacular, I think is what it's called. It used to be extravaganza, but I think they changed the name on me. Um, I will be there Saturday. I know some of you are going as well. Um, but just a wonderful uh concert and very enjoyable. Um, also uh wanted to say something about the Rotary lunchon yesterday. I want to thank uh Denise Blat and her team. They did a phenomenal job and all the principles and teachers that that um were part of that. It was a very
enjoyable um experience. I I know the students loved it, the adults loved it, and uh I I should give a shout out to Aramark, too. The food was wonderful. So, um thank you to everyone. We had a couple of you here. Um, one they knew about, one they didn't, right? Uh, Mr. Ghart. And then, uh, last day for students is the 19th of I think it's a week from Friday. Week from Friday, and then we have the holiday break. Um, I think it's records day on the 22nd. And, uh, good to go. Lots of stuff going on. Um, I will also say the basketball game on Saturday was exciting. Uh, we had to be really close to a sellout. There were a lot of people there. Um, and the team handled Lorine pretty well. We
had a great weekend of athletics. We had both wrestling teams won their tournament, the girls and the boys, and then the basketball one. Um, I'm not sure if I'm missing someone that was um competing, but at the end of the day, we had a great sports weekend and uh if you haven't been out to see any of those teams, it's very exciting to watch. >> That is it. >> Okay. Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> Um, any comments or updates from the board? >> No. Okay. Um, no executive session. Correct. >> Correct. >> All right. Then it looks like we are adjourning. So we have a motion. So move. >> Second. >> Okay. Please call the RO. Mr. Sen. >> I. >> Mr. Greart. >> I. >> Mr. Hower. >> Hi. >> Mr. Parker. >>
I. >> Mr. Sein. >> I. Motion carries. Meeting over.
