Call the meeting to order at 701. Roll >> here. Atkins >> here. >> Mr. Phelps >> here. >> Join me for a moment of silence followed by the pledge of allegiance. To the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Item five is public participation and don't believe there is any this evening. Uh that brings us to item six which is the approval of the agenda. Is there a motion? >> Second. >> Mr. >> Yes. >> Ph. >> Yes. Item seven is superintendent report. >> Yeah. So, good evening. Um, four organizations have donated generously to our Panther Market, which is a studentrun, student-driven service learning project focused on providing food to students and families in our community.

We are honoring our donors today who have given generously to our market and we're calling it our friends of Fairbanks recognition. Organizations who contribute to our educational programming will be invited to board meetings to be recognized with a certificate and a box of gourmet cookies baked by our very own high school senior Avery Landon who is using Credit Flex to earn business course credit through opening her own bakery business. So at this time we would like to recognize the following individuals and their organizations for their generous donations to our Panther Market. And when we call your name, please come up. So, hence our beautiful cookies made by our student Avery Landon. Her business card is in there. Should you want to jump on that? We will start with Honda Mary'sville Motorsport >> and Candy McCoy.

So, thank you so much for providing and >> can you just tell us a little bit why your organization decided that they wanted to participate? >> Well, um the number one thing that we believe at hot Mary Motorsports is to give back into the community. Um the reason we're here is to put more around everything that supports us. We got to go back into the community so that um everybody knows no food insec. Our next presentation is to the Fairbanks Education Fund and we have Aaron Stats and Rachel Jones. >> Thank you. >> Can you share it like why you chose to donate to the market? >> Well, the Fairbates Education Fund is that's our purpose. We want to help give back to our teachers, our staff, our community, our students, teachers. Um, and when

they came with this idea, we're like, that is something that is going to be here for a while and we want to be a part of it. So, >> for that photographer, >> thank you. Mr. Nichols getting some authentic learning learning. >> And next up we have impact labon and Chelsea patent. >> I have to share those. >> There are six. >> Wow, that's awesome. Thank you. Oh, I love it. >> Did you bring milk? Oh, there's some there's NOT ENOUGH IN THIS PANTRY. >> Impact does so much in our community. Can you share how why you wanted to partner with us? >> Um because we care about kids. You know, as cliche as it sounds, they are definitely our future. And I can't imagine any child not having food at home. And if we

can start in Union County and have that as a model for other counties, that's what we want to be a part of. And uh Fairbanks is an amazing partner. Um the things that you all do, the authentic learning. I've followed Janelle through her career actually. We've we've crossed all the all the paths, I think. So super proud of her. And uh you are all welcoming to us and um it's about collaboration and partnerships and um you know just making sure that there is a safe decent place to lay your head at night and there's food on the table and those are our priorities and then workforce development and then all the other things but you can't focus on those. >> Thank you. That's awesome. Come here, Johnny. >> Thank you so much. >> And then

um our last presentation is to Middle Bank and they are not here this morning but we will make sure that their certificate will be made to them. >> Grateful to them as well. So, thanks to all of you for participating. >> We're going to go into business. >> Thank you so much. >> Thank you, Chelsea. Thank you. >> Thank you, Johnny. Thank you. >> Thank you, Johnny. Good job. >> Thanks, everybody. We ready for safety? So, I have invited Morgan Carter this evening to share a brief presentation about the November 4th districtwide staff professional learning day where we focused on school safety all day long with all of our district staff. Mr. Carter has stepped up this year to own our safety planning and compliance and we are so grateful for his leadership. So, Mr.

Conor, I turn it over to you. >> Well, I appreciate that, Janelle. Um, on November 4th, we had a inservice day. Um, Janelle asked to that we kind of went step by step in what we do. Um, everybody learns a little bit differently. Some people read, somebody people do, some people um, have to see it. And so what we did on that training day, Janelle was was fantastic in allowing us to step off of campus to really buy into if something tragic happened or not even tragic, if something happened where we had to evacuate the the campus, our teachers, our staff understood step by step by doing. So on election day, we we presented our reunification plans to the entire district. We did it in two sessions um with our high school staff in the

morning and our elementary staff in the afternoon and then the other staff was in craz training which has to go with lockdowns and things like that. Um we also then traveled to one of our two potential uh reunification sites um that day. We also drove past our rally points if our students had to evacuate. Um so our teachers had a a really good view of where our kids might be if something were to happen. Um after that, after the presentations and seeing the sites of where we were, the staff were asked to give feedback and ask questions. Um we had sheets with questions. Our staff did a great job of they wrote down about 65 independent questions of things that I start to dig through. I haven't quite got to them all yet. Um just

asking questions. They did a great job of asking questions that I certainly didn't know the answers to. So now it's time for me to go and dig and say, "Yeah, that was a great question. I'm not sure where we're going to go next. Uh the last piece was our staff also um completed a Google survey that had six questions based on the intended outcomes of the day. Um and really our intended outcomes are right here. We wanted our staff to understand the big picture. what was going to happen uh the roles and responsibilities of that day um during re reunification uh specifically understanding roles and details. If you look at the packet I handed you, um it says in an emergency, if you go to the second page, it really rolls out um the six

essential roles that we would ask our staff to take a look at. Um I'm sorry, it's on the back page. Really, it would be the six essential roles of our staff. Um they identified the locations at our reunification spots of what we would use them for, where we we would put kids, where we'd put staff, where we reunify parents with with their kids. Um, I really wanted and general wanted us wanted them to ask questions. Um, because as you're digging through this and you're putting a plan together, there are blind spots. There are spots in which you're just you don't know what you're looking for. So having 150 different people looking at our plan was was eye opening because they asked fantastic questions really giving um leading us to places that we just have to

ask a few more questions. Um and then the last we wanted our staff to leave empowered in their knowledge meaning they can make decisions in a stressful situation. That was really important. But when we got through this, we really wanted our staff, the big picture to get the message was really the safety and well-being of everybody involved. We're if a situation happens for an offsite reunification, we have to evacuate this campus for some reason. Uh gas leak fire, potential flooding, uh active threats. Uh we need to move our entire campus off. Brian, you probably fully understand logistics. Um, but we're going to try to move somewhere around 1,200 people um quickly, safely, >> Organized is the big one. And then our district just our teachers understand our district plan is to move students and staff

to one one of two of our potential spots. Um, and really as we dig through this, I'll go quickly through these parts because for for our board to understand why we're doing this is important that to dig really deep into the details. Really, there's two types of reunification. You have control, which could be a gas leak in a building. Could be a fire. Yeah, it sounds like that's uncontrolled, but it's still managing our kids out. A bomb threat is is controlled. An uncontrolled is an active threat in a building. Um, god forbid anything like that happens, but we we have to be have some sort of preparedness for that. Um, real quick, uh, control re reunification. We had um tabletop discussions. We in back in October, we cleared the building. We walked through scenarios with

our kids. If you look at the front page of the package in front of you, there are basically five announcements that our kids could hear over over the PA system and many of them will be controlled scenarios. A hold in your room, secure, lock down, evacuate, shelter. Um, hold secure. Evacuate is really the the controlled scenario. We're going to evacuate for some reason. Gas leak. Um, it could be a fire. It could be things like that. But we're going to exit the building and we're outside the building in an organized fashion. Teachers are taking control of their students. They're taking um attendance redundance. Attendance. When I was talking to our teachers in this in this presentation, I probably said, "We're going to take attendance of your kids." it would probably be about six times before

we got them the reunification spot just because we have to know who we have and where they are. Um, but if we were and looking at this and the group here probably you going to get phone calls fast if something were to happen in this and this is really what's going to happen and talking to our teachers. There's a lot of big words in here that are not important. They're important to the process but not important to the teachers who are are taking care of it. We have a district incident commander. We have big words that would 99% be Janelle Chadman who is now set in the plan. We have an impact site director. We had a reunification site director. Uh we have district support roles. Really the person that's probably going to become most

important to this whole thing is Beth Woff. Um because we have to get buses here. We are probably from the time we say we're going to go to reunification to the time we get kids off campus, we're probably close to an hour. I mean, just thinking about what we are. And so there's there are a lot of different things to to take care of. Now, in your packet, you have this this flowchart. And I showed the teachers This flowchart really is three pieces. If you look at it, you have district command who's making a lot of decisions. Um Janelle's making a lot of decisions for tops. Aaron's very involved in that. And then we kind of work our way down. If you move over to the right hand side, that impact site director really that's

the principal or the administrator of whichever building that has is has the the problem. Um and then we're just setting up Beth, our transportation supervisor, is getting our buses here. We're taking care of that. And then we have a student assembly supervisor. That's the building secretary. that building secretary is the person who is taking role of every kid that's walking onto a bus. One of the great ideas that came up when we were talking to teachers was doing that over and over. But really the one of the best ideas was as we're putting students on a bus, have that student look at the camera at the front of the bus, say their name, and put them on the bus. Um because now we we have done it on paper, we've done it with a group

of teachers and then now we have it on film of these are the students we definitely have. It was a fantastic idea that I'd never even thought of but it it really worked out well. So that impact site director and that impact site is we are putting kids on buses and we're moving them on. The next piece is is a big piece and that's reunification site. Um there's a lot of big pieces up there. But really, it comes down to that page where I showed you the the back page, those six roles, and these are the six roles that were really important to to our teachers. Um, perfect world, it it looks a little like this. Our teachers with kids are with their kids from start to finish. Um, but this is the stuff happening

at Fairbanks. And then at the reunification site, it's those six roles. We have greeters. These people are are going to hand uh parents in their cars. Again, if you look in your pocket, there is a reunification card that is going to be in any situation. It's going to be a heightened situation. Uh we're going to have parents, we're going to have people who are excited about being there for a lot of reasons, but our greeters are going to walk right up to that parent and we're going to try to make sure they're still in their car and we're going to just give them this piece of paper and and look and just we understand. We're going to get you with your child as fast as possible. We all understand this situation, but I need you

to do this. So, our greeters are going to have these and hand them straight to th those parents. And please just read the instructions. As soon as you read the instructions, you get this filled out. We're going to go through the process. Um, the next one are checkers. The next group, as soon as this parents taken care of this, they they're going to hand it to that next person, and that checker is going to check I duties. They're going to cross reference it with our power school system, making sure, yeah, this student can go with that that person. uh reunifiers. Those are people are actually physically going to go find the kids in the in the situation or the place in which we are. That that reunifier is going to bring that student back to

that parent specifically. Now with checkers, we've we've looked at IDs twice. We're going to hand hand that student over over to that parent or that person. Um and then we have student assembly area. our teachers. Those are the people that are with our students where we are housing our students until we can reunify. Um and then we have exit directors really our counselors. Our counselors are going to talk to those people about um where we are. The big one, the second one is an uncontrolled unification. Hopefully never ever we get to this. This is the lockdown situation. This is where we have an active threat in the building. This changes what we do and how we do it. um because of the first three up there on the board. Um students could be locked down,

students and staff could be at one of three rally points and then students and staff could be unaccounted for. Um so it really changes who we are and what we do. We're gonna the basics are going to be the same but we are going to take those kids and again from the start to the finish of that we may not move off campus for four or five hours depending on what we are because of lockdown situation and law enforcement is in control of those things. Um but then our specific jobs just the things that um we do really comes down to drivers, studently assembly, class leaders, accountants, the class leaders and accountants. This is where we are taking role and um making sure we have all of our students that we should have. And again,

in an uncontrolled situation, there's going to be a lot of unknowns, unfortunately. And then back to our reification site, those six specific jobs. And again, when we get to those six specific jobs, there are lanyards in our reunification kits. I can I will take this lanyard. Uh Mark, you're a greeter today. And on there, you're going to look that we could be in a situation where we're just uncomfortable. I just need you to read your lanyard and and work through and you'll read through this. Okay? And then we'll we'll So it's not that you have to have that memorized today. Hopefully we have things that help you on that day. And again, I hope I've spent a lot of time on this and I never ever use it. And so every one of these jobs

has a lanyard that will be handed to somebody if if and when we ever have to use it. And now the last couple things here, we took all of this and this process is is taken from the I Love You guys Foundation. Joey Nu did a great job of getting this started and getting us in the right place. So, it is step by step. It's vetted through a process through FEMA. So, the whole process has already been vetted for us. So, it's not that we're making it up right now. Um, we are just tailoring it to Fairbanks and what we need and what best fits us and our students and our community. So, really you have your impact area and the things that we do. Um, how we get them on the buses, how we

take care of those kids. step by step and then what is going to happen when we get to our reunification site. It will be step by step. Our plan is to try to keep parents and things under control in cars, taking kids to them, not having them into our reunification site just to try to to manage manage stress as the best we can. Um, so step by step, person by person all the way through the process is is how we're gonna we're going to manage that. And again, hopefully I spend hours on this and we never ever have to use it. All we do is talk about it once a year, make sure we understand our plan, we vet the plan again, and we go through and see how we fix it. And again, I

had about 65 questions that were given to me um a couple weeks ago. still going through those and they've been fantastic to really hone in what we are doing. So, um again, hopefully we never use it, but it it's been good to put the plan together and hopefully our teachers and staff understand what we need to do as we as we dig through it. Um again, are there any questions from from the board? Well, I I just want to thank you for going through that whole process. I mean, to get to get the entire staff on board for a situation that physically worried about, but at least everyone is aware that there is a process. I mean, it was really Janelle who said if we have the the step by step and we get the

feel for it because she has lived through that once at North Union, but having that seeing what happens helps take the edge off a little bit. >> We call it like muscle memory. So by taking so we walk the staff through what is a reunification? What are all the roles within a reunification? What's a reunification when maybe it is like we have a gas leak and we just have to get off campus. It's pretty controlled or something chaotic has happened and it's less controlled and then there'll be much more ambiguity. And we kind of talk through like what are those two scenarios and what what do the roles look like? They may look very different in a a more chaotic environment than in a really calm one. Um, and like he said, we have the

lanyards with the job description. So, we could hand a teacher lanyard and say, "I need you to be a greeter." And they can just look on their badge and know exactly what a greeter is supposed to do. So, they don't have to remember this. Um, and we did really encourage questions when we went to the reunification site because maybe the elementary or even the preschool or our bus drivers have a different lens. And so they were able to ask us questions. So the fact that we had 65 questions, you know, you feel like, wow, you didn't do a very good job. But when we asked them about the outcomes, like, do you understand the reunification process? Do you understand the different roles? Do you understand these six major things? We had just about a 100%

of our staff report that like, yes, I got it. I know what to do. Um, and so the thing about teachers is I told them that I think it was 98, I think, when the Coline tragedy happened and I was a young teacher. Um, I was working on my degree to be an administrator. I was driving to Ohio State to go to class after teaching all day and I saw some footage of that tragedy and I never imagined it would be a part of what we do. And sometimes as educators I think we're hesitant to say like this isn't what I went to school for, but like it's your it's our job. It's our job now. And so the goal of this whole day of safety was just to empower teachers to say here's your

muscle memory. You can do this. You know, we we all need to be really informed and empowered to act if we have to. So, I think we were >> and it's everyone's job in this situation. >> It belongs to all of us. >> Not pointing to one or one or two. Everybody's in together. >> Correct. And the spirit of our staff was outstanding. They were thoughtful, engaged the whole day. So, they had part of it was reunification. The other half was the Union County Sheriff's Office provided praise training which is like >> citizens response and >> Oh, good for you. I don't have it memorized. >> As citizens response, active assistance response to active resource event. >> Yes. So, if we had a if we had an intruder, we had that event, they had that

training from our Union County Sheriff's Office for half of their day. the other half they did communication training with us and the spirit of our staff was outstanding and so we they came up with some things where we're like we need to add that to our plan like our bus driver said if they could just get on the bus and look at the camera and say their name then we would have a video recording of the students that we pick up and then a teacher said it would be great if maybe for the little ones if the teacher said the student's name so it can be audible and on the recording. So just really good ideas from our staff that we want to incorporate that into our plan. >> Thank you very much for your

time. >> Thank you. Okay. And then we have we had an amazing fall sports season. Um, so I asked Mr. Houston, our athletic director, if he would provide a report of our fall season. our students, they just continue to excel athletically and we didn't want to miss an opportunity to publicly celebrate their success. So for participation, we had 199 high school student athletes participate. That's 51% of the student body and 92 middle school students participated in athletics and that's 49% of the student body for the middle school. For team achievements, we had three Ohio Heritage uh conference champions. That's boys soccer, girls golf and volleyball. We had three district championships in boys soccer, girls soccer, and volleyball. Two regional championships in boys soccer and girls soccer. We had state level competition. Our girls cross country

was state qualifier. Boys soccer was state final four. Girls soccer was state final four. So quite an impressive fall season. For student accolades, our Ohio Heritage Conference player of the year for girls golf was Savannah Blust, a ninth grader. And boys soccer was Kaden Prounar, 11th grader. All Ohio selections are boys soccer, again, Kaden Proar, 11th grade, and girls soccer, Molly Thrush in 12th grade. And academic all Ohio selection are boys golf, Dalton Smith, senior. and girls cross country including Prairie Bailey 10th grade, Ka um Hadley Permuda 10th grade, Satie Miller 11th grade, Ava Bombers 11th grade, Canon Ene House 12th grade, and Elizabeth Flippo 12th grade. And for staff accolades, our division uh varsity boys soccer state coach of the year is Matt Humprey. So, it's pretty exciting. So, um and then just as

an update, Ray was able to complete the following projects to promote our athletes. Um he update updated the all Ohio wall. The wall of fame or digital display which has a new branded enclosure has been updated. An additional state champion and state runnerup signs are up up to date in a competition gym. So congratulations to our fall athletes um and their accomplishments this season and special congratulations to Matt Humphrey who won his first district championship and then for being coach of the year. Thank you very much, Mr. Chairman, for conducting this report. Item eight is treasur. >> Um, not too much to add unless there are any questions. Um, everything's on track so far this year. Um it is look it's looking like this week or next week they're going to u make changes to

our property tax. It's going to be probably this week or next week. We we should know. So looks like they're going to be voting on that. Um you know general property tax is 50% of our revenues. So um I still feel good about the short term but some of these changes could impact our longer term. So um it's looking like it's going to we're going to know something within the next couple weeks. But other than that, this year is still on track for years so far. >> Is there a motion in the treasur? >> Second. >> Yes. >> Mr. B. >> Yes. Mr. Little House. >> Yes. >> Mr. >> Yes. Item B of the TR treasures report approves 46,66250 uh transfer from general fund to debt retirement fund. Is there a motion? Second, >>

Mr. Phelps. >> Yes. Mr. L. >> Yes. >> Mr. Nichol. >> Yes. Mr. D. >> Yes. Item nine is consent agenda and then consent agenda this evening is item 10 which are minutes from the October 20th meeting. Item 11 A uh is athletic contracts. 11B is athletic uh volunteer contracts. Um 12 are certified contracts. Uh AB C. Um item 13 is classified contracts of A and B. Item 14, disposal of items. Items 15 is a job description for the unit coordinator. Item 16 uh is robotic robotics volunteers. 17 is a supplemental contract. 18 is a resignation. Uh 19 is a trip for to Honda East Liberty and TRC an engineering student. And 20 is for uh varsity baseball March 21st through 4th of that should be 2026. >> Hope so. >> Yeah, they missed it.

>> that'd be yeah March 21st to the 24th of >> and that is the end of consent agenda. Are there any questions? If there is none, is there a motion? >> I'll make the motion. >> Mr. L. >> Yes. >> Mr. Nichl. >> Yes. >> Mr. >> Yes. Item 21 is the change order for purchase additional office and teaching work space furniture as presented. >> Is there a motion? >> Second. >> Mr. Nickel. >> Yes. >> Mrs. Atkins. >> Yes. >> Mr. Ps. >> Yes. M. Yes. Item 22A uh approves a $2,000 donation to the banks elementary school PTO to fourth fifth grade Twitter market. Thank you for that donation. Is there a motion? >> Yes. Yes. >> Yes. >> Item item 250 is a $250 donation from the family for the Panther. Thank you

for their donation. Is there motion? >> I'll make a motion. >> I'll second it. >> Mr. Ph. >> Yes. >> Mr. Nichol. >> Yes. >> Item 23A is proves a contract for it's the cyber security services that's presented. It's for 13,36. This is something new. >> This is a requirement of House Bill 96, which um there are a lot of cyber security requirements for us. So, this looks for any breaches, especially within our Google suite to make sure we don't have security breaches. And I believe it also helps us if we have a breach of security. It identifies it, helps us fix it, and helps us with the reporting. It's like cloud security. >> Yes. Yeah. Cloud security. >> Is there a motion? >> I'll second it. >> Mr. Law. >> Yes. >> Mr. Nichl.

>> Yes. >> Mr. >> Yes. >> Mr. >> Yes. >> Then item 23 23B. uh approved the contract um for the support services. Um I think we're all aware of that for 300,000 for JCB student educational services. Is there a motion? >> I'll make a motion. I'll second it. Mr. Nichol, >> Yes. Mr. >> Phelps, >> yes. Mr. Le, >> yes. >> Item 24 is discussion items. You need to give an update on your meeting today. >> I'm just te There were three separate motions including information after a lot of debate. It went on till about 5:45 tonight. That's early. >> Yeah, it was. So, what ended up happening is you go to normal three issues. One of the issues passed, the other two did get out whether accept that new language, get rid of

the existing language, they got knocked out, too. So, we spent about two hours just come back. >> Nice. >> Thank you for attending that. >> I thought it was you for next year. Only thing I'd have Mr. Cample was uh this weekend athletic boosters had their Panther Palooa event. I think this is maybe third or fourth year maybe fourth and u it was it was well attended and well well ran. I think everyone had a great time. There was the TVs were on so everybody could watch football and still support Fairbanks athletics. So I think it went well. >> Very well done. >> Item 26 is committee. She said something and then B would be legislative. Uh well really I think Mr. Johnson kind of sums it up. But that everything's still sort of been

going through committees and and you know hearing testimony. Um so I'll try to go a little quicker than the last few because I think everybody's heard majority of these House bills or Senate bills a time or two already. But uh Senate activity um the Senate voted 31 to zero to pass HB 124. that would modify the process for property tax sales assessment ratio studies. Bill goes now to the governor for signature. Um some activity in the house. Uh the house education committee held another fourth hearing on HB455. This bill would make changes to the operation of public schools and the Ohio Department of Education workforce and help eliminate obsolete provision provisions in education law. So that's been going through the committee. Um the Senate Local Government Committee held its first fourth hearing on HB 129.

That is the bill that would include certain property tax levies and the calculation of school districts effective millillage floor. The committee's still been accepting testimony. They also heard the fourth hearing on HBO3 HB309. This is the bill that would allow county budget commissions to reduce millage on certain voter approved tax levies excluding debt levies if they find it necessary or prudent to do so. Uh they also heard testimony on HB 186. It was its third hearing. HB186 would cap tax growth for districts on the 20 mil floor to inflation through a retroactive tax credit and provide funds to reimburse school districts for the some losses in 26 and 27. Um they also heard a third hearing on HB 335. This bill would cap the inflationary growth on all insight millage beginning in tax year 26.

They heard their the House Judiciary Committee heard the fourth hearing on HB 188. This bill would, among other things, require public schools to incorporate instruction on fentanyl awareness and abuse prevention for grades K12 and require boards of education to designate one week of the school year as fentanyl poisoning awareness week. Um, committee also heard testimony on HB266. This bill would provide a $3,000 or $300, sorry, $300 property tax credit for the next five years for owner occupied homes that have been continuously owned for at least one year. And then it would reimburse local taxes. Uh HB 391 sponsor testimony was um for HB391 which would require tax rates to be expressed as a percentage of truth value in addition to millillage on the tax bill or election notices or ballot language. And lastly that committee

heard testimony on HB483. This bill would allow eligible homeowners to defer the payment of a portion of their property taxes. The House Finance Committee heard its third hearing on HB476. This bill would authorize on online raffles under a charitable gaming law. And then they they changed some substitution on some of that. And then recently introduced bills. Uh Senate Bill 320 would enter This bill would enter Ohio into the Athletic Trainer Compact. SB 322. This bill would dissolve academic distress commissions and instead require student support teams for certain low performing school buildings. SB 326 was recently introduced. This bill would require school districts to offer and students to complete at least one high school computer science course. and HB 590. This bill would modify the law, government tax appeals and property tax. So I don't you're

thinking within the next couple weeks that I Yeah, I hear I'm supposed to make some decisions here this week or next. Yeah, heard that today at the conference actually. So >> there's been a lot of testimony Sounds like we're getting four more of those pass. >> They're voting on them. Yeah. >> Yeah. So, I'm hearing 129, 309, 186, and 335 all the property tax um stated at the rate of inflation, including certain levies into the 20 mil floor that those four could go as a package. Voting I've heard on as early as the 19th of this month. So before they kind of close up shop for Thanksgiving, Christmas >> still feeling like that's gonna all be effective January 1. >> Well, we actually won't see the impact until next fiscal year then. So be the

second half of next year basically when I start when I understand Wednesday the second half second June tax bill and that's where I think our order was because if if everyone were if you were to pay your full tax bill in January then some of this stuff would take that this would be the following. Would this be 26 collecting in 27? >> Well, it be fiscal year. This is it be calendar year 26 fiscal year fiscal year 27. So that that's my understanding. I want to be the first half of uh well second half of this fiscal year first half of next fiscal year calendar year 2026. in the art school calendar, >> right? >> July one. >> You know, schools are schools are they are a supportive target. I don't there's no question about

that. And I think schools in general are feel like some inflation inflationary type caps, you know, is reasonable, too. But some of these proposals out there are extreme and would cause a lot of long-term damage to school district's financial situations. So, does I I'm hoping that those aren't going to make it, which I don't think so, but they it could still go into 2026, though. We can still some of these pop up, you know, like the cash promise type and that can pop up again. So we slowing down. >> As an example, it's the elementary school. Uh the third grade is taking field trip to COI on the 14th. Fifth grade goes to Right Patterson Air Force Base on the 21st. The drama club, but I'll get that in just a second. Second grade is

preparing your floats for the Thanksgiving Day parade, which will be actual floats that will be taken around the building that day. So, a lot going on there. They're doing a lot of professional development particularly math and literacy. There's some trainings going on with Dr. Jason. Tell us. >> Your guess is as good as mine. I've heard her speak, but I can't pronounce name. >> Okay. Looks like the first name Gloria, though. I got that that part down. So, that'll be December, December 4th. They're also doing some training. It's countywide program. Uh it's based on the kid whisperer. And there'll be two teachers who fill in take that training. Also, the clubs are doing a lot of work to try it back to the schools. As an example, there's 177 students who are involved in the

FES robotics program. Pretty good participation. Drama club presenting at the Avalon Theater on December 15th and 16th. The play is a Christmas carol. There's two presentations a day. They're open to the public. I think 15 times shows in the evening. >> Yeah. >> They are they are elementary music. >> Moving on to the middle school. First quarter rewards trip went to the maze. Second quarter rewards trip is going to ninja city in Dublin. I don't think I'm going to get anywhere near that one. The seventh and eighth grade they organized a career fair which will be November 24th. Uh they did their veterans day presentation last week last Friday. Had over 40 veterans register as far as always great job. They had a gentleman selected to be the main speaker. here at the plaque, graduate

of Barryville High School, who joined the service and served as a sent to the unknown soldier. I sat next to Joy Ballard who was heavily involved in the AR this she was very disappointed that he couldn't make reserving calling up for duty on that day. So he was a reserve trainer. She said, "If you ever get the opportunity to hear him, go hear this guy speak. He felt bad because he didn't make it here. So he's actually serving as a reserve now and he's going to holding green. So on November 25th at the week of Thanksgiving, he's coming in to give the presentation to those classes. Welcome to attend if you like. Uh it's 11:25 from 2:00 to 3:00. So sitting went well. Um they're starting to do winter diagnostic testing and the last thing

was that the middle school didn't present today that is our kids answer questions other kids rely on their instructor somebody else high Mrs. Faulk has received the Ted Beck effective effective teacher award. This is for excellence in financial education. So about half required to teach now she teaches. >> Yeah. It's required of every student that they have a semester in financial literacy. >> Yeah. >> So sound expectations have received an award. SAT testing has been done. I don't know. I sorry missed the market presentation tonight. Not sure how far they got into it. I know they talked show what's going on. Did they talk about Thanksgiving? >> Yes. Pretty neat. >> Very neat. >> And the last thing is their school, the high school winter musical is December 15th. Same night as a board meeting.

You got any parts in it? >> I have any parts in it? >> Nope. Not at all. >> Thank you. report should be on the meeting up 15. >> That would be great if we do that >> on the 15th. December 15th. >> Everybody changing the time. I think so. I'll make the motion. >> I'll second it. >> Mr. Nichol, >> yes. >> Mr. Stokes. >> Yes. >> Item 26 is executive session. There is a reason to go into executive session tonight. And that is to consider the employment of a public employee official. Is there a motion? >> Second, Mr. Atkins. >> Yes. >> Mr. Thomas. >> Yes. >> Mr. Mr. >> Yes. We'll take five minutes break >> and there will be nothing after the decision.
