Parana [Applause] math hi my name is Lake Hy and I had the honor of serving as the president of Rampart High School class of 2024 [Music] good evening Rampart faculty family friends and class of 2024 I am par Muth and I have served as the 2024 student body president I've addressed you all on stage before during assemblies and other events but this time will be the last I want to share with you my favorite word saund saer is the feeling of realization that everyone has a life as complex as one's own standing here here looking at my fellow graduates I am experiencing this feeling I'm looking at all my friends and peers and I can't help but reflect on How Far We've Come Together the class of 2024 has always had each other I want

you all to take a moment and think think about that one boy you had in your class who had the best comedic timing and always made jokes and the girl that would compliment your outfit at every school dance and the person with the kind eyes that always smiled at you in the hall even though you didn't really know them them for most of you I'm sure a name or a face popped up in your head and whether you realize it or not you yourself are the person someone else thought of each and every single one of you has left an impact on someone else Your Existence itself is enough to make someone look at you and think they inspire me and you may not see the impact the rest of us you may not see

the impact you have had on other people but the rest of us do the class of 2024 sees you and although the future will take us all on different paths we will continue to see and support each other standing here I am experiencing Saunder I know that once we leave graduation we may not have the same connection to one another as we've been blessed to have so far but I also know that our time together is not up yet over the last year I've been told this phrase from a mentor and many of you have heard this as well be where your feet are being where your feet are means being present in the moment and acknowledging and appreciating the environment and space around you and I encourage you all to do this appreciate the

friends mentors teachers and peers you've made connections with and allow yourself to be present while making and living in your Future's memories so to my fellow graduates and everyone who has come here to support us let's celebrate our accomplishments cherish the moment and seize the day I have one final request to ask of you class of 2024 we're going to do math one last time together and we're going to add up the numbers in 2024 and say the answer loud and proud what is 2+ 0+ 2 + [Music] 4 thank you and congratulations to the graduating class of 2024 [Applause] all right good evening all I know that we are all eager to just walk across this stage already so I will promise to keep things short and simple um I want to start off

by thanking my fellow classmates seated before me the family and friends seated around us the teachers who dedicate so much of their time for us and the man upstairs It Is by their immense love and support that today has been made possible for each of us I think that we can all collectively agree that these last four years mainly the first two have not been normal but we class of 2024 have persevered through it all oh [Applause] okay some of us began attending Rampart with friends from elementary school middle school and even birth some of us moved States districts and some of us came alone but we all had just one thing in common and no it wasn't just going to high school for the first time we were faced with a different Challenge and

that was a global pandemic from hybrid to synchronous to inperson and syncroness again we adapted and as much as we like to forget about that time in our lives it is important to know how strong we are because in those rough times and adapting to life after covid we still found a way to show love to those around us whether that be blasting our favorite songs in our cars with our friends getting froo after a big game meeting at the library to make sure your month-long project that you started the day of is turned in by 11:59 p.m. amen right um getting all dressed up for dances which by the way we always slayed um to the little things like following someone you thought was cool on Instagram little did we know we became one

through these little efforts most importantly you have all given at least one person in here a sense of belonging if you don't take anything else from the words that come out of my my mouth tonight I want you to remember how strong you are how far you have come and how far you will get thank you for electing me to represent such a beautiful and Admiral class even though you were given no choice um I genuinely believe that you will all do great things in the Endeavors you choose to do next but within that I hope you choose to embrace the unique talents you have and apply them in your everyday life I'm going to miss the teachers and staff who have had so much patience for us here teach me how to douge e

at 700 in the morning on Fridays blasting from across the school but most importantly I'm going to miss seeing your familiar and warming faces every day take a moment to look around you because this class is a group to remember for a lifetime I know that I will lastly there's a quote I would like to leave with you all that a good friend left with me keep a pure heart and a clear mind Rams peace love and harmony lay thanks Mom [Applause] okay okay um once again Miss [Applause] [Music] Sanders all right welcome to the 42nd annual commencement exercises of Rampart High School please let me Begin by thanking the Air Force Academy for providing us access to this beautiful facility furthermore please let me extend gratitude to all those who bravely serve or have

who is unable to be with us [Applause] tonight additionally I have Mrs Ginger habber superintendent of Academy School District 20 Mrs Becky Allen Deputy superintendent and Chief Financial Officer Dr Susan field assistant superintendent for learning services and Dr Dr Becky Harris director for curriculum and instruction for special education I also have up on stage with me the rampart Administration team Mrs Kylie Bailey assistant principal Mrs Davin edit assistant principal Dr Abby Graham assistant principal [Music] and Mr Andy Parks assistant principal and a director of Athletics all right I want to start my time feel like I'm halfway through already but start some of my time with you tonight by talking about something that's been on my heart lately and that is the statement these kids these days I've often heard these statements that started with

kids these days and then went into some negative statement about the current generation of kids kid from a former generation of kids who was also once referred to negatively as kids these days for some reason this year the statement has felt more and more like nails on a chalkboard each and every time I heard it I think it is because I've reflected on two things first is the fact that every generation for many generations has used this statement as if once upon a time they weren't the generation being referred to second is the fact that I know kids these days and I just don't quite see it the same sure these kids these days do things differently than kids of my day but the world is different and if kids weren't doing life a little

differently than I did I would be more concerned about the future of our world however I see kids these days and I'm optimistic about our future I see the graduates of Rampart High School and I'm grateful that they have let me know kids these days here is what I know about these kids these days these kids these days help freshmen on the first day of school where they need to go these kids these days rally around a student who hasn't been treated appropriately and then help educate those hurting them so they can be better for the world they tell the truth even when it's hard they meant to our other students who are struggling with school life or friends these kids these days shave their heads so no one around the world fighting cancer knows

so anyone around the world fighting cancer knows they are beautiful and not alone they raised $45,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society these kids did that they were six in heels to prom six inches six of them and then dance all night with every group of student to make sure everyone has fun they volunteer their time at elementary schools to help with field and Leadership days they care about Community because as a very insightful 2024 grad recently told me they understand that Community is the sword and shield against the hardships of the world these kids these days earn full ride academic scholarship sign National letters of intent to be student athletes in college break decade old sprinting records they win state and national awards and lots of them they have dreams and big ones these

kids these days show up to meetings with the principal and superintendent to share ideas on how to make a make the full experience of Rampart High School and education in Academy District 20 the best for our students and families they attend conferences with our Board of Education to learn and support learning for our district they desire to learn they seek to understand the world they show up when it is hard and they rally these kids these days are incredible they are exactly as they are supposed to be and the world needs them as they are I'm honored to celebrate you here tonight to the families friends teachers and coaches thank you for being a part of the village that raised these kids these [Applause] days Rampart graduates as you go into the next adventure I

encourage you to build on the young men and women you have become seek to understand understand others so we bring us together instead of dividing us continue to build community and show the world the greatness of kids of the class of 2024 thank [Applause] you it is now my pleasure to introduce this year's student speaker at large Amanda [Music] walsman Amanda is joined tonight by her mother and father and David walsman Paige and Jill Walman and grandparents Jill and Mark ringer Amanda Walman a 100 days ago I started a countdown to graduation I began as a motivator to finish the school year as I looked forward to finally finishing unfortunately my plan was not as successful as I had hoped around the 70-day mark my perspective began to change and I started to wonder why

I was so eager to leave I would finish my difficult classes and finally escape the LA school days but I would be leaving behind a school that brought me friends growth and some truly epic memories around a 65 I had convinced myself that after graduating I would fail in college and end up sad alone with no friends obviously this is a highly unlikely exaggeration that probably resulted from watching High School Musical one too many times because what High School Musical teaches us is that High School SCH is the best Days of Our Lives something to be celebrated cherished and never achieved again I am here to change that narrative we'll never forget the tragedies and triumphs of our high school years we were all in this together but Rampart isn't the end our high school

experience provided the momentum for our future success for the start of something new Mariam Webster defines momentum as strength or Force gained by a series of events in our case the series of events was our experiences as freshmen sophomores Juniors and seniors Rampart is where we learn to develop meaningful relationships to study and learn and it is where we sparked the interest we are choosing to pursue next in life the strength we gained from these learning experiences is powerful now it is up to us to inreng increase our strength and maintain that power today we leave behind a familiarity and relative stability that has governed Our Lives as we Embark toward towards an unknown future frankly it's nerve-wracking that is why it is important for us to enjoy the moments we are in even as

those moments change from our regular enjoying the moment means recognizing the happy times and memories in our lives acknowledging happiness means we find reasons to maintain momentum to keep moving forward to towards creating more of those cheerful Memories the past four years have prepared us for what comes next even as we take different paths all of us are figuring out as we go we continue to learn grow and be thankful for our time at Rampart I am thankful for the friends that sat beside me in my hardest classes for Mr Anderson teaching me to always watch out for the stupid people and for our class watching the sunrise on our final year together but I am also grateful for the new opportunities that await all of us so as we leave today let us do

it with an eagerness for what comes next and with an excitement for the chance to reconnect someday soon I congratulate you all and I wish you the best on your individual Journey it is with this that I happily begin my next countdown 3,652 days until the class of 2024's 10year reunion see you then Rams at this time it is my honor to introduce the rampart choir under the direction of Miss Ellie Hackbarth who will perform home [Music] hold on to me as we go as [Music] R just know you're not [Music] alone I'm to [Applause] [Music] just know you're not alone CU I'm going to make [Music] withar might you down if you get lost you can always be just know you're not alone cuz I'm going to make this place your home [Music] oh

from the international back laor valedictorian as donde and then valedictorian Jordan casmer uh hello everybody uh to start I would like to again say thank you to all of the teachers and facult fa at Rampart for the past 4 years I would also like to thank all of the parents and Guardians who supported us throughout our journey and to the class of 2024 congratulations the times of our brains being filled with the ey stabbing episodes of edus and the metaphorical mess of Animal Farm have finally come to an end but before high school ends forever I want to revisit one last quote one that we probably haven't heard in many many years as a throwback to our long journey and that quote said in the dead of night under a sacred peach tree is yesterday

is history tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift that is why it is called the [Applause] present while this while this quote May seems silly said by an old turtle in a kids movie about a panda fighting a leopard these words are just as true today as when we were five watching Kung Fu Panda on our TV screens we often find ourselves entangled in the past regretting moments we cannot change or lost in the uncertainties of the future trying to predict what will come next and it's easy to let these thoughts Cloud our vision of the present but in reality Our Lives don't take place in the future and we can't relive the past our lives are happening now the present is where you'll talk to and meet some of your greatest friends

create your Fondest Memories and see the most beautiful things unlocking the potential of the present whether that's meeting new people drawing a picture or even watching a movie about a Canda Panda kicking down doors you will experience moments that will give you Greater Joy than planning or reminiscing ever will so wherever life takes you next whether that's College agap year trade school or a job I hope you listen to the words of this Wise Old turtle and take the time to embrace the world around you take the time to look at the snow covered mountains smell the springtime air and listen to the birds tripping in the morning and remember that it's not just the destination but the journey that shapes who we are save each moment and let your curiosity guide you as you

never know like a certain Panda you might fall right into the center of your dreams thank you and good luck hi everyone um I want to start by thanking the faculty family guests and of course the class of 2024 for being here with us today I'm so honored to be here with everyone as we celebrate one of the most important nights of our lives so far as I stand Here surrounded by my classmates and teachers I can't help but think back to one year ago when I attended the graduation ceremony for the class of 2023 as I drove home that night I had a realization that night was the beginning when we then Juniors returned to school the following day it felt empty the class of 2023 left a gaping hole which caused us to

realize that we were the next graduating class not long after we had our last summer as high school students really Our Last Summer as kids then it was time for our last first day of school our last home homecoming Our Last Prom and just this week our last day of school but I don't want to talk about all of the last tonight I'm here to talk about the first because I think that's what made Senior Year so special so let's start with the very first first of our senior year the first day of school was our first time as the oldest students at Rampart for many of us senior year was an opportunity to try something new perhaps it was the first year you had a flexible schedule so you took on some new classes

you had never done before or maybe you played a brand new sport this year you might have gotten your first job bought your first car traveled alone taken on a leadership role or turned 18 and officially become a young adult as the year progressed many of us applied to college together for the first time or started planning for the future whether or not you are pursuing a degree this year allowed all of us to confront the future in all of its uncomfortable and anxiety inducing Glory as we began planning for it we feeling the effects of growing up we discovered we were no longer the eighth graders we once felt trapped as but now seniors now as we set off on the next phase of Our Lives we get to experience our last few first

together before we enter a world full of Firsts as we receive our first diplomas turn our first tassels and walk out of the stadium as graduates for the first time we are prepared to move forward in our journey it was no simple feat to reach this point but the lessons memories friendships and even hardships will serve us well graduation might feel like the end it might be the end of our high school career but is the first step towards something much bigger as the responsibilities of adulthood Loom over us life feels scary we find ourselves constantly worrying about what the future holds and anticipating how to perfect it I want to leave you with one piece of advice life is full of first don't miss your present first because you're so eager to reach the

lasts that are far in the future in the wides words of Taylor Swift take the moment and taste it you've got no reason to be afraid you're on your own kid but you can face this now Miss Sanders and Mr salt Mr salt it is with the greatest honor that I present to you the members of the class of 2024 I hereby certify that these students have met the requirements for graduation from Rampart High School and Academy School District 20 and are recommended to receive their [Applause] diplomas Rampart Ram are you ready on behalf of the Board of Education of Academy School District 20 I accept with pride and pleasure the 2024 graduating class of Rampart High School Miss Sanders thank you and your faculty and your staff for an outstanding [Applause] job please allow
