And it's really an honor and a pleasure to get to to lead here and work here because I have such great staff and and students. Uh and so Miss Langden tonight is going to share with

you an opportunity that she brought to us uh to the sort of administrative team and said, "What do you guys think of this?" And we said, "Go for it and let us know what you need." And so she's going to kind of give you a a year in a nutshell of what she did with a group called Partners Club. Just going to turn this on. >> He's being next up. Good evening. My name is Michelle Langdon as Will said and I'm an occupational therapist here at Bradford Run. Thank you for the opportunity to speak to you tonight about a really exciting project we started this school year. I've worked as an OT in the district for nearly 20 years and the past two years here at Pepper Middle School. Throughout my career, I have been

in many, many meetings with family members and a common theme and question we get is how often does my child get to interact with other peers and students? While our students do have many opportunities in transitions in the hallway or at lunch or during PE in our classes, I strongly felt that we could do a better job in fostering meaningful peer connections with our children within the specialized classrooms. With that goal in mind, we launched what's called the Partners Club this school year. The purpose of the club was designed to create a more inclusive and engaging environment for all students. The activities are specifically designed for our special needs students, but then they're paired up with a peer mentor to participate in a variety of structured social and recreational experiences. Initially, my goal was just

to do three events this year. However, due to the enthusiasm and participation of our students, the program has already exceeded those expectations, and we are looking forward to experiencing more things next school year. I wish you could see firsthand how the students at Raptor Run have embraced this opportunity. They have tr truly stepped up, demonstrating empathy, leadership, and a genuine commitment to inclusion. It has been incredibly rewarding to watch these relationships grow and to see our children, students support one another in such meaningful ways. I'm going to share a few pictures of the events that we've encountered throughout the school year and I'm also going to introduce you to a pair of students who have been wonderful um mentors to each other throughout the school year. This is Maline Fine Kemper and our special friend

Eli Dan. So they'll speak at the end after I show you a few pictures. So Oh, thank you. Which button right >> to the right. Okay. So when I first started this, being the sports jokeie I am, I'm like, we're definitely doing a sports theme. But then I also thought it was important to incorporate other things like music and art. So those were our three initial activities. And then we came up with a great idea to have a holiday party that occurred during school hours because a lot of our students who don't have transportation after school weren't able to participate in the activities. So we started the program in the morning and that was super fun. And then I had teachers come to me and say, "We need help throughout the day." So we have

some classroom helpers where students come and they sit during morning meeting and help guide them throughout the morning meeting and then we also have lunch helpers that help them get through the lunch line. So this was our first program the sports program. We did all kinds of different adaptive sports activities. You see Eli in the middle golfing right. Another one we did was music with Goldie. I don't know if you all know Tim Golder, but that was awesome. He came and did music with all the kids and um sang silly songs and everyone loved it. The winter activity that we did was um a sensory model. So we gathered nature with different things and we created sensory bottles for our students. Um and that was more of our art activity that we prepared. And this

was our holiday school activity. We played holiday reindeer games. We did an art craft. um sang Christmas songs, things like that. And that happened before school started. And here's our lunch helpers. They help get through the line, help them get their um food that they want, help them put in their code. And here's Eli and Maddie. And Maddiey's going to speak on behalf of her. >> Hi, my name is Maddie Booer. And this is Eli Dan. I've been in Putnner's club this year, which is where students get paired up to hang out, do activities, and get to know each other. I really like being in Putnner's Club because it inspired spending time with Eli and having him and other students join in activities, and he always makes me laugh. My favorite event was the holiday

party where we made snowmen, played games, and ate donuts. Being in partners club has helped me feel more confident and better at talking to different people. It has also taught me how important it is to include everyone so that no one feels left out. I think that this program is really important because it brings people together who might not usually get the chance to hang out and participate in activities. Being part of it makes me really happy and it is a lot of fun. >> Thank you. And Eli, I just wanted to share a few thoughts with you. >> Eli, what you want to say? >> I got this. Okay. >> Okay. Stop. >> Hi, my name is Eli Dan from Cincinnati. And I love Miss Maddie and I love playing games with you. And

I love Miss Maddie so much. And I love playing activities and games. And I love to be nice. And I love you, Miss Maddie. And I am you again. >> Thank you. [applause] >> All right. So, my tweet is if you know anybody that has a sport or a hobby or anything that they'd like to share and maybe come and present or be a part of our club, we would love to have you. And also, there's another program that we um incorporate this year is classroom companions. So, if you have some extra time on your hand and you want to be a mentor to some of our students, I'll pair you up one-on-one and spend time with those students as well. So, again, thank you. Thank you to Maddie, Eli, and Will for supporting this.

And um I appreciate you listening. >> You got anything else you want to say? >> I love you guys so much. >> [applause] >> questions or anything we can answer for you before we let you keep on with your with the program. >> I'd just like to say thank you. That's awesome. >> Thank you. >> That's cool. That's really cool. Well, thank you guys. >> Do Do we have anything like this at any of the other schools? >> So, I I can't speak for what happens at at any of the other schools so much. Um, we are in the unique position is because we have 71 students in the specialized classroom where it's it's rife for the opportunity to do it. We have the right staff with the right mindset, a lot of students with

the right mindset. Yeah, she's easy to bring over, but she's not the only one who is a part of this by any means. Um, obviously we'd love to see that more, but I'd have to let other principles answer that question for you. >> Gotcha. I think it would be worthwhile to have it districtwide on some level. >> Yeah, I mean it does have it. I know they started this year and I think the high school as well. >> That's awesome. Thank you. >> Next up, we have the treasures report. >> Mr. President, in your packet on the yellow sheet will be the financial report for March. Okay, so the front page general fund for March total revenue 3.4 4 million total expenses 5.7 million. We return to the back side with the graph our ending

cash balance in the general fund 29.6 million. Uh no activity to report to the board out of the ordinary. Moving forward to the permanent improvement funds. No revenue to report the PI funds. Total expenses 297,000 and our ending cash balance in the PI funds 4.5 million. Uh and really just to report to the board, we did purchase uh one conventional 72 passenger school bus, 138,000 uh that was appropriated by the board uh prior to this fiscal year beginning um as are all large purchases. Uh the only other are there any questions on the financial report? The only other thing I'd like to share, I gave the board each a copy as well as there's a copy for the community out front um of the construction project update. I mentioned this oh I believe back in

February uh that we would keep the community up to date. Uh shout out to Mr. Beckenhoff, Mr. Frampy, Dr. Swollski for all their efforts and putting this together. I think it's very well done. Uh as communicated at prior meetings, our administrative team has been extremely busy uh between hiring an architect, construction manager, u potentially a partner here uh with the high school air conditioning uh as well as securing financial terms for this bond. So um again, appreciate everybody's support in getting this to our community. Uh Mr. Gramp, he's going to send it through the necessary channels that our community is aware, social media, electronically, through email. also appreciate uh his support with this. Um that is a communication regarding the bond uh regarding our general fund. There'll be communication coming out later this month uh

with regards to our fiscal health and where we are financially as a district. And so I encourage our community if they have questions to reach out. But with election day tomorrow, I felt like it was a good opportunity for our community to be aware of where we are in financially and transparency is there. Everything's posted on website. But I think this push communication I think will be a little bit more uh valuable for our community to um enhance their knowledge and uh looking forward to any questions they may have. Uh so other than that that's all I have this evening unless the board has any questions. >> Thank you. >> Do we have any director reports? >> No director reports tonight. >> Did anyone sign up to address the board? No >> old business. >>
