Uh Dr. Miley, we are with you. >> Thank you, Mr. Feller. Good evening, everyone.
Um my superintendent's report is quite brief. I'm happy to share that we uh presented our state of the schools last week at Northview High School. We had about 55 folks in the audience to hear about the wonderful things that we've been able to accomplish in our Sylvania schools. In addition, my colleague, Mr. Adam Ko, our district treasurer, also gave an overview of our school finances and what that looks like moving forward. So, um, if you have not had a chance, if you're here in the audience tonight or listening at home at a later time, please log on to our district website. You can access the video from the state of the schools from that location. But there's a lot of great information and I think something that's very informative for the community members in Sennsylvania.

yes. >> Tammy, >> yes. >> Greg, >> yes. >> Dan, >> yes. >> All right. Now, we are at the first opportunity for public participation for agenda items. >> You want to let them know that they can go, right? They can leave, right? >> Tell them they can go. >> Oh, yeah. Sorry. Um, so we're going to continue on with the rest of our meeting. So all those that were here for accommodations. If you'd like to uh leave now, you can. Unless you want to stay for the meeting, you can if you want to. >> Right. >> And then the general. >> All right. So we'll move on with our treasures report. So Mr. Coke, we're with you. >> Yeah. Uh this month I'm going to have 5.1 through 5 uh five on a consent
agenda and then we have some abnormal resolutions that we do only once a year. So we'll do those separately. So, uh, 5.1 is minutes from, uh, February 23rd and March 9th. Uh, 5.2 is the treasures report. Um, we did get notified that we have another clean audit. Uh, that audit was released um, last night. Um, so that will be put online uh, this coming week. Uh we did get our final tax settlement uh for the year uh and it's right on par with what we originally estimated in the forecast uh which is about a 2.6% increase uh from last fiscal year. So right on par with what we uh believed it would be. 5.3 is an annual Medicaid uh school service program agreement agreement. We are recommending a three-year uh price lock for for this
service agreement. We work with healthc care process consulting. Uh they help help us get reimbursed uh almost $400,000 a year. Uh and our staff does a ton of work in order to get that uh done annually as well. Uh 5.4 is electric purchase program agreement with Ohio schools council. This allows us to join other schools throughout the entire state of Ohio working through the Ohio schools council to get better uh electric rates um moving forward. I'll move approval on a consent. Oh, you got one more. >> Yeah, I got one more. Sorry. 5.5 is just an >> is just an annual uh approval to accept the Lucas County rates. >> I'm approval on a consent agenda basis items 5.1 through 5.5. >> A second. Any discussion? >> Call roll. >> Julie, >> yes. >> Dan,
>> yes. >> Greg, >> yes. >> Tammy, >> yes. >> Kim, >> yes. >> Thank you. Uh 5.6 six uh or 5.7 is a resolution to uh filing an original board of revision complaint. Um so as you remember the la last three years they changed the law but we only um filed these on commercial properties uh and this year we only have three which is above 500,000 um where the sale price was above 500,000 of the uh tax duplicate. Okay. So looking for individual approvals for 5.7 8 and 9. >> I'll move to approve 5.7. >> Second. Any discussion? >> Call the roll. >> Tammy. >> Yes. >> Dan. >> Yes. >> Greg. >> Yes. >> Kim? >> Yes. >> Julie? >> Yes. >> So then you just need >> I'll move to approve 5.8.
>> Second. >> Any discussion? Call the RO. >> Tammy? >> Yes. >> Julie? >> Yes. >> Kim? >> Yes. >> Greg? Yes. >> Dan. >> Yes. >> And I'll move to a point 5.9. Just finish it up. >> A second discussion. Call the roll. >> Tammy. >> Yes. >> Dan. >> Yes. >> Kim. >> Yes. >> Greg. >> Yes. >> Julie. >> Yes. >> Thank you. >> And Dr. Miley, we are back with you. >> Thank you. I recommend item 6.1, which is the appointment of Mr. Greg Radwin um for the position of principal of North View High School. and I'm making this recommendation on behalf of Mr. Xerov who will be our superintendent effective August 1st. >> I'll move approval. >> I'll second. >> Any discussion? I >> think Tim has a few words
that he wants to share. >> Yeah, I would. Uh, thanks Dr. Molly and the board. Um just after after two very extensive rounds of interviews that include teachers, support staff, administrators, parents, and students, uh Greg Radwin rode to the top based on rose to the top based on his experience, his leadership philosophy, and his deep commitment that he intends to provide to Northview High School. Uh Greg currently serves as the principal of Liberty Center High School, a position he has held since 2019. uh during his tenure based on the feedback we've received he has a strong emphasis on relationship building visibility and and collaborative leadership. Uh he provide he prioritizes not only daily visibility in classrooms and school events, open communication with parents and families, but he he ultimately focuses around culture of Liberty Center
High School, something we look forward to having here at Northview. Greg's a longtime member of the Sennsylvania community as both a parent and a resident. He has maintained close ties to Sylvania schools for more than a decade and is eager to serve the community fully. He holds a bachelor of science and education from Ganon University and a master of arts and educational leadership from Concordia University of Chicago. He's here with his wife Lauren who is an intervention specialist at Anthony Wayne local schools and their children Carrian a fourth grader Ganon a second grader both in the district and Baylor who will soon be a student in our school district as well. So just want to take a quick minute. I know I sent all of you an email and some more specific communication, but I
I confident and I'm proud of the fact that we had a very very quality interview process that I know in talking with Greg, we feel we're being interviewed as a school district when we bring candidates in and feedback that he provided said it was first class and that's what we want to provide when we're looking to bring people into our district and especially to lead Northview High School. So proud to to recommend Greg or Greg Feller Greg Radwin. Greg Radwin to >> We don't want we don't want you being the first Greg Radwin. Sorry, Mr. Radwin. Greg Radwin is the the principal at Northview High School. >> And I love that we're we're doing it at Southview High School. >> Well, congratulations and welcome. >> Thank you. >> Well, I guess we should vote first.
Any other any other comments? >> All right, Adam, call the role. Julie, >> yes. >> Kim, >> yes. >> Tammy, >> yes. >> Greg, >> yes. >> Dan, >> yes. >> Congratulations. >> Say anything. >> Yeah. Like to say a few words if that's okay. No, >> absolutely. >> Um I just want to say on behalf of my family and I, um we're grateful and honored to be recommended by the board of education. Um, thank you for district admin for putting the trust um in me to lead Northview. Um, I'm looking forward to building, you know, on uh past successes and kind of taking Northview to the next step and I know we're in Southview, but um being the leading school in Ohio. So, thank you again. I'm excited uh to get started. So, thanks.
>> Thank you. All right, Mr. Terski, we are with you. >> All right. I will recommend items 7.1 through 7.3 and it consent agenda basis. 7.1 our licensed resignations. 7.2 licensed substitute and 7.3 licensed extra duty. >> I'll move for approval on a consent agenda basis. Item 7.1 through 7.3. I'll second. >> Any discussion? Call the role. >> Kim, >> yes. >> Tammy, >> yes. Dan, >> yes. >> Greg, >> yes. >> Julie, >> yes. >> Thank you. I will recommend items 8.1 and 8.2 as consent agenda items. 8.1 are classified new hires. 8.2 is classified resignation. >> I'll move for approval on a consent agenda basis. Items 8.1 and 8.2. >> I'll second. >> Any discussion? Call the RO. >> Tammy, >> yes. >> Julie, >> yes. >> Kim, >> yes. >> Dan, >>
yes. >> Greg, >> yes. Thank you. I will recommend items 9.1 and 9.2 as consent agenda items 9.1 non- teaching pupil activity contracts for 2526 and 9.2 athletic volunteers for 2526. >> I move approval on consent basis items 9.1 and 9.2. >> I'll second. >> Any discussion? >> Call the roll. >> Julie, >> yes. >> Tammy, >> yes. >> Greg, >> yes. >> Dan, >> yes. Kim. >> Yes. >> Thank you. >> Um, so now we are at Ford Reports. So, Julie, do you have >> Yes. First, uh, went to the Hall of Fame this week, last weekend, and it was really fantastic. Particularly our educator of the year, Christina Danker, gave such a phenomenal speech. Like, I I just it was it was fantastic. Um, really moving. And our Babak students that won. It
was so impressive what they did. So that was as always a great event. Uh went to SSPO with Kim Tammy. Um and there was a presentation about the levy which was nice and Tim gave an update and Becky Hench gave an um an update about the relay challenge that's coming up. Also the um Northwest Ohio I think I don't think you were here last time I talked about this. some area board members from Northwest Ohio got together and we're sort of like forming a coalition just to talk to each other. Sort of like how superintendents do like they get together and just share ideas. So there's a group of us we've met um like three times now. If anybody wants to join me can be two of us. It's kind of great and focusing on
some of the legislation coming out of Columbus >> um the consolidation the you know just some of the things. So, we we are doing um like a forum at uh Penna in April. I think like April 19th we're doing it. April 29th um to talk about those things like what it looks like for all the communities if you know there's consolidation of services you know with police, fire, schools, parks, libraries, all of those things. So, more information about that'll be coming. Well, that's what I >> um we had a policy committee meeting recently and I think I've reached out to all of you individually about this. Most of the changes were legislatively mandated or you know wording things like that but there is um something that we need to look at in terms of how
uh high school GPA are being calculated. So um I think we're going to have a presentation on that in April. It's right. >> So and we can figure that out. The rest I when are the rest of the policies going to be on? >> Uh probably next work session which would also be April the April board meeting. The first work session will be on. >> Okay, that's all. >> Okay, Dan >> uh went to a Sylvania Prevention Alliance meeting uh last Thursday. Just uh let everybody know that their 40th anniversary celebration gala is April 18th. You got to get tickets by the 3. So if you haven't gotten your gala tickets, get them while they're hot. So, that's going to be at St. Joe's. Should be a nice night. >> Um, I went to the
SSPO meeting. Also went to the Hall of Fame dinner. Um, and I I will agree with Julie's thoughts and that it was listening to the speeches from our former um students was was really amazing to think of um the folks that this district has been putting out there for years and years and it's sort of humbling in that you know this this district is a lot bigger than any one board or any one person. It's been a living breathing thing for so long and it takes a constant constant stream of dedication to keep it going but in the end what what our alumni are able to go out and achieve in the world just never ceases to amaze me. So I I really appreciated that. Um and yeah I I have a s I have
a Sylvania um community services board meeting next week so or maybe it's this week. I better check my calendar but beyond that that's all I have. >> Okay. Um, and I was at the policy meeting with Tammy, so she already went over that. And I had a stateard meeting and a recck meeting, but really nothing new to report from those. So now is our second opportunity for public participation for non-aggenda items. And seeing none, so I will move that we go into executive session for I got a couple things here for um compensation or discipline of a public employee um to consider purchase of property and for preparing for collective bargaining. >> So moved. >> Second. >> Any discussion? Adam called the roll. >> Julie, >> yes. >> Kim, >> yes. >> Tammy, >> yes.
Greg, >> yes. >> Dan, >> yes. >> All right. And we will not be taking action after executive.
