Discovery Canyon vs Pueblo East Football "Game of the Week"

001good evening and welcome inside district 20 Stadium in Colorado Springs we've got a doozy of a matchup tonight in 3a high school football as the DCCC Thunder take on the Pueblo East Eagles thank you for joining us tonight my name is Brian German and alongside me is my broadcast partner Dave Toller and number three versus number four you'd expect it to be a good one and these teams have seen each other quite a lot over the last few years they know each other very well Brian they've met so many times in big games they've met in the state tournament even the state tournament championship game a few years back these two teams very good teams one coming in Florida undefeated that's DCC 3 and 1 pleb louis comes in their only loss a big one

002to a rival school that's a 4a school getting votes in the national polls so we've got two of the best teams in the state right here tonight yeah and we're gonna see it on the field tonight every time we see these two teams play always close usually goes down to the wire but we talked to Shawn Mitchell before this game where we got his keys to the game take us through those day well you look at the number one ball control this is a team they run a lot of option football so they're gonna want to eat the clock and by doing that they keep the Pueblo East offense which is very potent keep them off the field the number two team minimized the impact of Kane Medrano and Luke and Rada while Medrano was

003out for this game so the quarterback Luke and Rada they will have to be very careful with him he's a run pass option type of quarterback and the number three take advantage of special teams the kicker for DCC will talk about him a lot throughout the broadcast is very good he can hit the long field goal he can get kickoffs for touchdowns and he has the ability to flip the field on the punt and as far as Pueblo East is concerned in the special teams battle they don't kick it very much they punted once in four games this year so they're kind of leery about using their punter and their kicker they go for two most often it'll be another thing that will keep track up during this game but if they're there will be

004a lot of them against two very good teams should be a great one discovery Canyon number three versus number four Pueblo East will come back with a kickoff right after this on 20 TV you welcome back inside district 20 Stadium we're just about ready to get started for this one discovery Canyon and Pueblo East this one should be a great one the corn toss is over Discovery Canyon will receive there's a good look at Shawn Mitchell I want to thank him for all the information he gave us about his team before tonight's game always good you know he can't get out and see every high school football game so it's nice when the coaches give us a little insight into their players and what they're thinking absolutely gave us those keys to the game and

005also told us it's the first time he's gonna be calling the defense as well he's the head coach he's also serving as a defensive coordinator first time he's done that since 2010 and you mentioned in the pregame about the good special teams for discovery Canyon it all starts with Griffin Anderson the senior 511 kicker for discovery Canyon he will put this game into play there's a good look at Griffin and he's coach Coach Mitchell tools he's capable of the gist sending it into the endzone for the touchdown we'll see if they choose to do that a lot of teams like to maybe try and pinion inside the 25-yard line Anderson's kick well into the end zone and he'll do just that it'll be a touchback so well the weeks we'll start with the football at

006the 20-yard line but lui ste Dave mentioned a very very exciting offense but their main player Kain majora no out he will not play at wide receiver or free safety for Pueblo East starting at quarterback his Luke and darada and he gives it up the middle and discovery Kenny does a good job shutting that one off and the Eagles will get about a two-and-a-half-year gain on that one and that was Noah Rivera with the first carry of the game so with Kain Medrano out of the game a guy that has played running back played receiver he carries the ball out of the backfield he's their leading receiver as well there's a lot of touches that are going to be available for this Pueblo East team and we'll see who those touches go to but it's

007a very dynamic offense they can run it and throw it and drown it back to pass some heat being thrown Hahn he's going to get it out of there and good job defensively for discovery Canyon Braden bear was putting some on him from behind great job and you'll see Pueblo East they run out of the shotgun they'll run trips to one side they'll flip the field go to the other side but nice pressure from the backside by the Thunder forcing that throw to go out of bounds and forcing a third down coming up for the Eagles third and long for Pueblo he's discovered King would love to get him out three and outs and Rada in the shotgun is he will be most of the day as a man in motion does a fake nice

008move up the middle looks like he is going to have a first down and Luke and drama is one of those players that coach Mitchell mentioned they've got to stop him they didn't get him there he gets an eight-yard game in the first down and he's their quarterback but he's their leading rusher as well averages 60 yards per game on the ground about 260 through the air so a guy that that's where the offense that's where the focus point runs through it on a third and seven play nice job on the keeper two receivers left and right with one man in and Rada takes a look fiers finds a man it's caught over there on the side that's gonna be Jo padula who gets it up for about a 6 yard gain I'm gonna say

009it's gonna be second down for the Eagles but who the seventh catch of the season and again you'll see him do a lot of things though they'll work the right side they'll work the left side they'll work at deep that time just a little quick out to Purdue Pedulla and Rada again this time to give up the middle Patrick Gonzalez and he's gonna surge forward for another what Louie's first down so two first down so far for East they're gonna be like in that yeah they really do and again that's that balance you're seeing when when the team can come out on first down throw a little seven or eight yard out come right back where the full-back up the middle he really keep the defense off-balance and that's what Pueblo East is doing no

010huddle they just run up to the line so they can control the tempo as well Gonzales again in the backfield with entrada and DCCC jumped I believe it's gonna be offsides against the Thunder it'll be first in five rather than first and ten and a lot of times when you get this short yardage run first down let's a coach gamble if you want to right here because it's gonna be second and five even if you throw an incomplete pass yeah sure can and what leads to the offside while you've got the defense on their heels a little bit early in this game Sharada goes up top again it's caught on the left side and a nice move as going down is number 13 for Pueblo East that was Caden Bowman who's probably gonna see a

011lot more action tonight because of Medrano not being in there yeah we'll call a lot of new names that really aren't high on the the stats list for Pueblo East but those there's touches to be around and put least working the left side of the field early on trips to the right now it's time to give it to Gonzales they almost had over the back field he cuts it up inside and gets about an eight yard gain Patrick Gonzales doing the work on the ground the 6-foot senior for the Eagles well in Discovery Canyon had some good penetration on that play they got in the mid with Gonzalez make him move it behind the line of scrimmage but he did so and he showed some good power as he just moved the sticks and the

012Eagles keep it going Andrade this time swings it out to Marvin Johnson London junior excuse me and he cuts it up inside gets a first down and right now Pablo he's doing what DCC wants to do and that is keep the other teams offense off the field they're taking some time off the clock coming up on nine nine minutes left here in the first quarter and while they really are and one of the things Shawn Mitchell the coach of discovery Canyon told this was they wanted to limit the big plays while they're limiting the big plays but but Pueblo is just moving it right down the field and drama in the backfield along again with Gonzales that now they seem to be waiting a little bit of time on the play clock down to ten

013and Radek gives it to Gonzales he goes up the middle it's about a four or five yard gain and the Thunder they're really keeping the Thunder on their heels with both the running and passing so far really that's what the Eagles can do to you they'll spread you out and you're not gonna know what's gonna come next and they run out of so many different formations you take a look at where they are now there they've got the field spread all over Luke and Rada under a little bit of pressure nice move to get out of it finds a man that's gonna be Padula who turns it up inside and comes down close to the 10 yard line before a gang of thunder bring him down going again discovery canyon had good penetration we'll look

014at it right here they forced Andrade to go out to his left but he keeps his composure tough throw rolling to his left turns his shoulders get squared up makes a good throw right on the money in the first down for police gage Clausen with the pressure there for the Thunder but an errata he is shifty back there that was a good look at Pedulla on the side and Radha now sins London junior in motion he curls back around a drought is gonna go up the middle nice blocking up in there and a good hard nose tackle for discovery Canyon that's gonna be brought down by number 44 that's Tanner nectary a really nice plane here's a good look at it on the replay as he stepped up and Rada had some room and was

015trying to get out to the left side but nice claimed by McCreary to step in make that tackle so Android now looking at second down they can get a first down at the one-yard line Android on a good job again this time the Thunder gets it in the first surge in there he's been in the backfield all night number 59 gage Clausen for the Thunder what a great play by Clausen as he comes in and finishes this time we've seen earlier in this Drive the Thunder got in the backfield it was Clausen once before that missed him but not that time he wrapped him up puts the quarterback on the ground Shawn Mitchell gotta like his play call on that one absolutely sending Clausen into the backfield so and righto now surveys things and here

016comes a reverse a nice catch and he's got some room on the left-hand side a flag is down he's gonna go into the end zone but I believe they might be calling this one back that was a touchdown for Marvin London jr. but hold on just a second we got a hold against the Eagles that's coming back boy again gage Clausen was right in the middle of that and nearly broke up that whole play we'll take a look at it on the replay here comes the snap back to the quarterback watch Clausen get in there he's right in the middle of it the hold came right before that right in the middle of the play so touchdown is called back and they'll March it back 10 yards boy well who East better be careful because

017Clausen could have intercepted the pitch and he had his mind about him a little bit more he probably could have like knocked that into the air and had a huge play as it is the loss of 14 third and 20 for now and draw it back London junior in motion he's gonna look deep down the sideline it's dropped in and out of the hands of the Eagles Gonzales the backfield couldn't hold on to it's gonna be fourth down and 24 but I expect Eagles to go for it yeah very well I think you heard some footsteps here he was open for a while you can see the safety stepping up right there that was 32 that's passion stepping up right in front heard some footsteps and didn't make the catch so Andrada now again in

018the backfield Patrick Gonzales with him Thunder trying to put some pressure on him and drown it looks over the middle and incomplete no flag on the play and the Thunder will take over on downs what a great job by the Thunder digging their heels in we'll take a look at it right here and going no call on that again I think that's Kevin passion it is good job it looked like he may have had the hand wrapped around him but you don't get the call man you don't get the call that's a great play the ball is not caught turn over to discovery Canyon but certainly credit that defense because the way Pueblo East was moving that ball all the way down the field they got it down to the 10 yard line the Thunder

019dug in not only did that push them back and got to stop without giving out any points and now we'll see the Thunder offense Thunder offense with Zach Anderson under center second-year starter for them fakes it comes around and a nice pitch on the outside a little bit of room over there and going out of bounds was that Monteleone nope that was passion back in the game on the offensive side of the ball Kevin passion with the carry the 5/8 senior good look at him right there as he goes back to the huddle and discovery Canyon using the short side of the field a lot of teams that run the option they like to go to the short side they'll say there's one less guy over there you get 11 guys on defense a lot

020of times that extra guy will go to the wide side of the field sometimes you can get an outnumbered situation by going to the boundary mate Rose split to the left and this time Anderson hands it off up the middle again a nice throw and that's Marshall pike getting it right up the middle the big fullback carrying that one down for a first down for discovery Canyon well the leading rusher for the Thunder one of the top rushers in the state a hundred and thirty yards per game and he comes right at you right there that's what discovery Canyon wants to do they're gonna take wyden they're gonna hit you with the full-back up the middle and marshal pikes been a terrific win for him the last couple of years and i'm sure marshal pike

021will be the first one to tell you that he doesn't do it alone those big guys I'm not doing a great job that was a hole right there again semi up the middle and slammed to the ground again it was Pike give him another three yards on that one when did you look at that line Bryan you were talking about the offensive line really changing up their splits only over about four or five plays but that time that offensive line was almost shoulder to shoulder and then you'll see him step out and they'll create a little bit more of a gap and that really changes up what the defense is trying to do what gaps they're trying to attack but already a good job by DCC mixing things up a little and there's a good

022shot from behind the play of the splits of those offensive linemen again this time the fake up the middle Anderson keeps it around the side he's gonna die for to have another Thunder first down so the big man Zac Anderson if he looks large to you he is 6 7 215 pounds the senior for the Thunder there's a good look at him good look at him right there you can you can see 6 7 and as you would imagine from a 6 7 guy a pretty good basketball player as well averaged about 11 points per game 6 rebounds last season for the Thunder on the hardwood and playing Porter back tonight showing a little good footwork as he came around the left side mr. do it all Zach Anderson so Pike's behind him passion goes

023in motion this time passion takes the pitch got room out there a nice block on the outside he could be gone action to the 20 to 15 to 10 touchdown DCC 6 nothing Thunder well what great speed by Kevin passion and again that's what the Thunder wants to do they hit you with the full-back then they take it outside a nice little play we'll get a look at it right here here's Anderson the fake to the full-back the quick pitch just beats the defender and then he just splits a lot of white jerseys as he heads down the sideline Kevin passion for six for the Thunder what great blocking on the outside for the Thunder to open up that hole and Kevin passion saw it and he was gone great speed by Kevin passion as

024the Thunder setup for Griffin Anderson to try the extra point and make this a seven to nothing football game up and good 7-0 good look at Griffin Anderson 511 senior what a great job that team did on that drive they're sucking him in although Sean Mitchell's probably saying wait wait guys we scored too fast he did say control the clock but I tell you what he's not going to turn down a touchdown like that and that's what Discovery Canyon wants to do they're not gonna throw up very much when they do they're gonna hit him over the top after they just keep sucking those defenders in but didn't even have to on that one it was it was fullback fullback it was quarterback to the left and it was passion to the right nice drive

025by the Thunder and now we'll see if the Thunder again let Anderson kick this one deep in the end zone and forced the Eagles to start at their own 20-yard line but Louisa down in this one they were down last year in several games we've seen him before this you never count the Eagles out so Anderson ready to kick back at it orally Mondragon and Marvin London jr. back to receive this one we'll see if they get a chance to return it Anderson gets a big foot into that one it's high and taking just inside the end zone it's gonna be a touchback that's a high school rule nice catch by Marvin London junior but we'll get the ball to 20 yard line and we talked about what Anderson can do with that leg he's

026put both of them out of the end zone so no return you force put Louise to start here at the 20 I'm sure that Coach Mitchell wants to do that the rest of the night that's a dangerous man back there in Marvin London jr. so Andrada comes back out in the backfield with him is Noah Rivera and a big tackle down inside for the discovery Canyon Thunder make that number 35 Nick Monahan with a big play great plays they got pressure once again they've had good penetration there's a Monaghan of course who's back there once again 59 that's gage class and put blue East is gonna have to find a way to block Clausen but he's been in the backfield as much as the running backs for the Eagles have tonight that's not an exaggeration

027thank you this time up the middle 22 gets a hole and coming up to make a nice tackle for discovery Canyon that's Logan Moore with the football was Noah Rivera but it's gonna be third down and long for the least and that time they were able to spread that defensive line for discovery Canyon out the little inside handoff he had a little room as he gets right back to the original line of scrimmage 3rd 9 Thunder would like to get him out on this one and drought is back again pressure good job keeping him in the pocket there's a throw incomplete on the far side and again guess who in the backfield with the pressure I believe it was Clausen I would bet it is good job with yeah it sure was Clausen came up

028he was blocked up by Clausen taking the blocker it freed up another Thunder defender who was coming on the Blitz didn't get the number but that was the inside linebacker coming on the on the blitz gets enforces the early throw over the top and a punting situation for the Eagles I do wonder for head coach Andrew watts and the Pueblo East Eagles if they're a little down because Medrano not playing tonight we'll see here comes the punts just the second punt of the year for the Eagles and Kaden Bowman got a nice foot into it and a nice little roll but discovery Canyon will take it because they can chew up 82 yards and get a touchdown no problem and you look at that punt that's that rugby style punt if it's not fielded in

029the air if it hits the ground it's got that automatic topspin it bounced another 15 20 yards to depend ECC back but absolutely they will take that we talked about the dynamic offense the Pueblo East has and the way they can they can run it they can pass they've got good balance for DCC to get a three and out and get the ball back to their offense that's what the Thunder wants to do keep that pub lowest offense on the sideline and let's chew up some clock offensively we'll see if they can do it Anderson and company back on the field for the Thunder it's got pike and fullback passion again in motion and this time pike comes up the middle and keeps dragging eagle players for about a 7 yard game here's a good

030look at it right here the full-back Marshall pike you talk about yards after contact he was hit behind the line of scrimmage took about three Eagles with him to gain some positive yardage Sam Watson brings the play in from the sideline a big tight end for the Thunder doesn't look so big at 6 to 185 when he goes to the quarterback in the 6 7 to 15 but hey trust me Anderson again like looking to go he is off to the races no one's gonna catch him Marshall Pike will go all the way touchdown thunder boy how about that the full-back up the middle he goes for 74 yards on the play holy cow that's the full-back good luck at he's right over the right side and again a credit to that offensive line opening

031up that hole made it look easy all Pike had to do was just not fall down on his way to the end zone he did not and it puts DCC up two touchdowns I don't know if marshal Park wanted to run that far he got to the end zone you see what he opened his hands and looked at the ref like did I run far enough Early's I don't want to run great job by Marshall Pike to score that touchdown and now the Thunder Griffin Anderson trying to tack on the extra point it is up and it is good boy he kicks that ball high make it 14 nothing Thunder the first quarter of this one number three beaten number four and check out pike a good look at it completely untouched and you love

032the way the full-back carries the ball coming through the line of scrimmage he's expecting contact once he gets in the clear puts it away he runs he looks at the ref he goes okay Here I am here's the ball great job by DCC and well again they talked about controlling the clock well when you score on a 50-yard run you score on a 74-yard run we were putting points on the board not really controlling the clock but BCC will take this 14-0 lead oh it certainly will and now maybe you'll see a little bit more well I don't know what you how how you can be more conservative and then handing it to the full-back Sean Mitchell's gotta love what he's seeing out there exactly and well this is a this is a blow East

033defense that has played pretty well they have forced 12 turnovers in four games this season but boy tonight they're just getting torched at the line of scrimmage by the Thunder Rob Lewis seven of those turnovers came against last year's state champion and the quarterback who is on his way to Colorado threw five interceptions on this Eagle defense not see five passes thrown by the Thunder all night tonight why would you when you can run the ball like they are so again Anderson to kick it off my guess is with the instructions to kick it into the end zone we will see put into that one and that is going to come down beyond the goal line and every habits 20-yard line again for the Pueblo East Eagles for the third time tonight they will start

034from their own 20 like coach Shawn Mitchell gave us that as one of the keys to the game what a weapon that is and we haven't even seen him line up for a field goal or a punt yet but boy on the kickoffs when when you have a guy that can just put it out in the in the endzone it makes it easy on your coverage team when when they you know when they have to go down try to cover those guys for Pueblo he's trying to run that ball back got a hint when his extra point hit powers Boulevard whether but he can he's got a pretty good leg and Trotta in the shotgun again that's Rivera behind him and drawn us gonna look to pass he'll go deep down the middle got a

035man out there but couldn't catch up to the football number 13 Bowman Kaden Bowman tried to get there it was a nice pass lots of air under it gave me a chance to run under it but Bowman just couldn't get there well I really did and for the first time tonight and rod has had a little bit of a pocket to throw in he wasn't under pressure he laid it out there just a little too far out in front of his receiver but again you can see how capable this this Pueblo East team is of stretch in the field and scoring quickly but it's second and 10 as that ball fell incomplete Thunder ready to put some more pressure on IDE rata and here it comes and drought it looking throwing that one into the

036sidelines call it incomplete as again great pressure upfront by the Thunder that was the left defensive end that was Sam Watson 87 that he just beat his tackle right to the quarterback and drought it was rolling right into him and had nowhere to go with it but to throw it out of bounds there's a good look at Ryan Monteleone getting the defensive call probably from coach Mitchell third and 10 so far Pueblo East they got three first downs on that first drive and then stalled with a penalty down early here comes a London junior and he is tracked down by his jersey they're not tear away jerseys like they did when you play Dave check it out again it's a great play by Nick mana who's coming from the backside just holding on for dear

037life and he holds on long enough great plate by Monahan there's a good look at him right there coming down the line of scrimmage stretches out gets just a piece of a jersey and gets the tackle the 510 senior comes down with the tackle and a blue East is about to punt in this game more than they had in the previous four Bowden sends it down that ball hits the ground this time doesn't get such a good what Luiz bouncing DC seal start from the their own 45 yard line so Shawn Mitchell got to be like in this absolutely best field position he's had and I'm sure when when the Eagles go over to the sideline they say hey let's let that ball bounce a little bit bcc's return man they just got away from

038it and and a quick touch is in DC's favor as as they will take over best field position of the night and there's a good look at the quarterback Zach Anderson you know it's a big game when all of the television stations are on hand not just our cameras on the sidelines this is a big game folks three versus four and right now the Thunder are owning it Anderson again up the middle pike another big run but they got him before he went to 74 yards that time it took him just five carries to get over a hundred yards already on the night when you go 74 in one play that he'll ship enough five carries a hundred and five yards tonight already for Marshall Pike heck of a player and just again a great

039job up front by that offensive line this time passion in motion Anderson's gonna throw it got a man wide open what a great catch out there that's Watson the big tight end inside the 25-yard line while Sam Watson he just had great pressure on the quarterback playing defense and this time slips behind everybody it's take a look at he comes off of the near side this runs a little flag route out to the sideline and again when you're just running the ball fullback tailback fullback tailback all of a sudden those safety start to creep up you hit the tight end over the top nice play by the Thunder was a great play Zach Anderson threw it in there like it was nothing and now the Thunder come back to the line first and 10 25

040yard line this time again it's Marshall pike he's going right up the middle Ryan Monteleone yet to touch the ball on offense he was in motion this time as the wing back on the other side and you know he's going to here shortly yep absolutely and you throw one over the top and as soon as everybody starts collapsing to the inside that's when Monteleone can get free on the corner Zac surface gives the play to Anderson and they come up to the line ashin in motion the fake here comes the Anderson had a little bit of room he definitely has a first down for the Thunder as he goes inside the 15-yard line yeah second time he's carried the ball and this time he goes to his right side well he can't heat gains 232

041yards with one step then he falls forward for three more yards and nice run there by the quarterback sack Anderson all you got to do is fall forward that's right fourth and two coach Mitchell just has to tell his quarterback to fall forward first and ten balls marked at the 18 yard line now and I wouldn't expect the Thunder to put it up unless they have to in this situation Pike in the backfield Monteleone to the right passion to the left Monteleone gets his first carry on the cutback nice job down inside the 10 yard line down to about the 7 like good hard running first carry of the night from Monteleone as he takes the handoff and goes over the left tackle side and he gets hit early on gets his pads down and

043back field it's gonna be a hold against discovery Canyon first penalty of the game on discovery Canyon a big one right there is Anderson he got down right next to the goal and looked like he might have been in they they called it short but they will call it back let's take a look from behind right here there's Anderson with the ball as Monteleone to his left he cuts it back up well I just gets hit see as he gets short of the of the goal line couldn't see the hold in there but they will back him up ten yards big play there now so instead of a first down inside the two yard line the Thunder now looking at second and 14 on the seven a little bit longer still don't think this is

044passing down for the Thunder and Anderson takes it pitch on the outside they'll cut it just dance along the outside there does Monteleone gets a little bit maybe half of it back so it's gonna be third and about seven or eight and just ran out of real estate over there you could see the whole Eagle defense collapsed on Marshall pike why wouldn't you he's already over a hundred yards tonight but Monteleone as he got to the corner just ran out of room before he went out of bounds yes if Marshall Pike keeps the pace up he's got 450 for the night that would be crazy Anderson under center a man in motion number 29 in there and now they're gonna say offsides against Pueblo East that is the call so instead of third and six

098Anderson now three for three on the night it's gonna be first down in ten for the Thunder Marshall Pike over a hundred and fifty yards in the first half doesn't get the carry this time Anderson again keeps the ball comes up inside and reaches and he may have another first down for the Thunder it'll depend on the mark but they're gonna mark him down shorts it's gonna be second down and one for the Thunder but how about Zach Anderson and he knows they're probably gonna be keying on pike he's keeping that ball in his belly like you said and in the last second pulling it out and then you can just see the whole line for Pueblo East everybody just converging on pike and why wouldn't they 12 carries 157 yards in that first half

099and so they move to the middle and what does that do it opens up the edge for the quarterback Thunder have kept that ball inside the hashes whose Monteleone around the right side whoa and he's cut down over there and a nice tackle for Pueblo East that was Patrick Gonzales who came up and made the play and we got another eagle down on the field but here's another look well a good job by Monteleone I'm just getting out and and making that play looked like he had a lot of room over on the edge the wide receiver couldn't quite hold his block long enough and there was an injury on the play to one of the Eagles we'll see if we get a number that was Curtis Railton who's now being helped off the field

100he looks to be okay not sure he went down up now he's been over on the sidelines wondering if he's okay no sometimes cramps will get you sometimes he was the back side defensive end the left defensive end who was coming around behind the play and we saw him go down well behind the play that's where the the injury happened as we were watching Monteleone gain the edge and get the first down so discovery can you doing what they want to do here with the first drive of the second half Anderson with passion in motion goes up top got a man there's Watson Oh couldn't catch it couldn't come down with it pounds the ground with his fist he did not like that one gets the ball down he'll get it back to the officials

101but Wow Sam Watson's gonna want that one back why and in an offense that doesn't throw the ball very much you don't get very many opportunities look how wide open he is he runs right by the linebacker just off of his fingertips if he can just somehow squeeze that ball in he walks into the end zone but instead discovery Canyon will line it back up second and 10 Anderson nice pitch here comes passion nice cut up inside of the 20 in down to the 16 yard line another first down Thunder that's 91 yards now for passion nice job just setting up those blockers great patience by the runner if he had just continued outside he gets taken down on the play he stops lets his blockers do the job and cuts in right behind him

106game Anderson has the whistle he will now March it off and get ready to kick this one thunder took some good time off the clock there too in that quarter in the first drive of the third quarter plenty of leg and this one is gonna be in the field of play they're gonna let Pueblo East returning and London junior gets out across the 20 yard live at the 21 so they gain a yard on it looked at me like gone to the end zone but the official said we roll the clock let's go he was right on the goal line when he did so first time we've had to see the cover team in action for discovery Canyon but doing a nice job getting down there and getting the tackle they'll spot that right about

107the 21 yard line for the Eagles Worley Mondragon with the return there excuse me some of these numbers a little hard to see for Pueblo East and Luke entrada back in the game we mentioned he got hurt the last offensive play for but least in the first half nice pass out here to London jr. nice move he cuts it to the outside it gets by the Thunder and gets it Gow close to the 40-yard line but Marvin London junior with a great play right there boy it really was a little isolation right here you don't block one guy let the ball carrier take care of him and he did so gets around him and like a good job pursuit on the backside to get him out of bounds this is why discovery Canyon has to

108keep scoring when they have the football these pueblos East is a very dangerous offense and Rada sends a man in motion that's Rivera and this time they come to the other side with London Jr he's got some room and some blockers cuts it up inside and across the 50 yard line and Pablo aces maybe found something there with a little swing pass to London jr. yes same play out of a different formation they ran it to the far side this time to London junior sent him in motion so they forced discovery Canyon to bring some guys to the far side of the field and picks up another first down two catches on the last two drives for Marvin and jr. nice blocking out there by Noah Rivera and jarana this time hands it off up

109the middle and some nice fancy footwork and almost another first down for Pueblo East and as the runner up the middle doing a great job I believe that was Noah Rivera when again you run a little bubble to the left side another one to the right side the full-back up the middle and this is what Webb Lewis wants to do this is the rhythm that they want to get into and they start playing with their pace they can really spread you out and we talked about their offense they can get back into it quickly yeah this offense they look a little angry right now down thirty eight to 12 and Rada looking for a man wants to throw it deep throws it short nice catch again that's Kaden Bowman on the sideline kept both feet

110inbounds and made a catch a nice job and good job by Andrada to keep this play alive as well as he's rolling out has a little bit of pressure but puts the ball right on the money on the sidelines good catch by Bowman three for three four and Rada on this Drive and they picked up three first downs and Toronto not showing any ill effects from what looked like a tweaked knee at the end of the first half and Rada now with trips to the right he throws it got a man right in the middle of the field and a good catch that was Brendan Harding and they are moving it fast and why wouldn't you throw it to the middle you go left you go right you go a run up the middle then

111you throw it over the top underneath the zone you saw discovery Canyon they dropped everybody back found the soft spot in the zone and picked up another first down and they're keeping Marvin London jr. here's that quadruped s'right you see the i-formation with three of the receivers on the left they threw it to London junior last time in this and try to get some blocking in front of him this time and around it looks upfield got a man down close to the goal line and look at them moving it that again is Bowman great job and great play calling so we were just talking about everything on the left side they had single coverage at the top of your screen that was Bowman a little slant to the inside and nearly gets in the end

112zone and Rada now has his team down to the two yard line first and goal to give it up the middle and he's in at least that's what the East Eagles think and the official on the far side concurs touchdown Pablo East Megan 18 points for the Eagles well when you get it in that close you just got to use the big guys up in front a little bit of power offense right there pushes it in we're trying to get the number of the leaders no Rivera was it Riveria he's been in that position all night long touchdown for the Eagles and again will they go for two they're gonna kick this one their previous two touchdowns they went for two they will line up to kick this one mega number 18 Eddie Gutierrez the

113senior with his left foot gets it up and OH just short of the crossbar no good and excuse me that was not Gutierrez Thomas Wagner is the kicker he was five for five on PA TS before that one things just not going right for the Eagles really aren't and there was another good look at the touchdown just again use some the big guys up front but how about the drive how about the play calling by Pueblo East they came right out they they gave up a touchdown to discovery Canyon on their first drive but as soon as their offense got the ball they throw it left they throw a right they run it up the middle they hit his own play down they hit a seam pass on the far right side they get it

114down to the two and just punch it in great job of offensive football by Pueblo East and what Louise now needs some defense they know they have some we spoke earlier tonight about they forced 12 turnovers this season in four games seven and one gaming its last year's state champions from Palmer Ridge but this defense can be dangerous too so far discovery canyon has done a good job and nullifying all of that just running the football and they have to protect the football they're not gonna put it in the air as much as Palmer Ridge did of course with their great quarterback ty Evans and they threw five picks against this Eagles team but they're not gonna put it up that much but when they're running the ball especially those pitches they've got to take

115care of the football nice deep kick forces the Thunder on her back but a nice return he's gonna cut back still on his feet is Zach surface man nice return for the junior for the Thunder yeah really did a good job at he he gets it up to that to the sideline cuts it right back inside and gives DCC a good place to start with their second drive of this third quarter excuse me that was either Chimel or hall just saying number eight Terry is number eight Brian Chimel Ethan Hall both wearing number eight for the Thunder and out they come again Zach Anderson under center this time he pitches it back got a man that's drew well Stello and he gets forward for about an eight nine yard game oh they want to give

116him the first nope it's gonna be second down they will spot it just short they did start to move the chains then they flip the down marker over and well yeah second and short the Stello came in when Monta Leyland went out earlier looked like he had a little scratch on his arm possibly they were taking a look at him but mostello gets the first carry on that drive and now Monteleone is back in there at the right wing back it still is left to give it up the middle and Marshall funk gets his first carry the second half and a first down he's earned a little bit of a breather after the first half that he had and he gets to gets the carry right there he'll pick up that first day on that

117first drive that discovery Canyon had they never went to pipe they just used him as a decoy as Anderson did all the damage on the on the keepers going around the edge and lost ello as well so right there they come right back to Pyke and he picks up the first down Zach Anderson bring him up slowly as thunder just happy to milk that clock up by 20 who hit in the backfield Anderson pull the ball away from pike I think he was giving it to pike but Anderson pulled it back he didn't gain much of it but it stopped a bigger loss for the Thunder well that was Diego Martinez just jumping the play right there and great presence of mind by Anderson to be able to hold on to that football we we

118talked about ball security the one thing the DCCC cannot do is put the ball on the turf having a 20-point lead their offense has been in sync all night but why they nearly turned one over right there second and 11 now and again pressure up the middle to go outside a Monteleone he cuts it up gets it across midfield and he's gonna be without within about three or four yards of a first down a nice job to get a big chunk of it back right there just a little quick toss sweep to Monteleone again blockers out in front of him great job over on the edge we'll see if we can catch you that is a Tanner McCreary who did a nice job with a little kick-out block on that defensive end Monteleone cut right

121out through the Stello gets the first down and more inside the 40-yard line and if you fought the Thunder we're about to stall forget about it well they trust their block so well watch the cutback right there duelist ello he just knows where they're going they've run this offense so well and he just cut right in behind his blocker picks up about 12 yards on the plane another first down for the Thunder good job again for the Thunder coming down to two minutes left here in the third quarter Zach Anderson taking his sweet time this one again to Pike up the middle looks like about four yards on that one if he breaks off another big one he'll be over 200 yards for the night he's at 163 right now and even on that little

122run right there he picked up four yards didn't look like he got much of anything but that's a critic to that offensive line just winning that battle at the line of scrimmage moving the line of scrimmage about two yards and just pretty much allowing your fullback to run right in behind him fall forward for a gain of four makes it second and six Issac Munn the big center rolling this offensive line for the Thunder again it spike up the middle Oh tripped up but he may have the first down I believe he does give him another seven yards to marshal pike yeah a nice job defensively therefore for the Eagles that was Martinez again that just got his foot I believe but boy what a nice burst right there by pike and again as you

123just start to work the middle of the field and work the edge you pop that full back in the defenders can't see him as he just kind of sneaks in but underneath that offensive line and gets gets a good gain on the play first and ten for the Thunder great job up front by that Thunder offensive line anderson fakes to pike this time comes got some Running Room on the outside gets inside the 20 yard line in another flag comes down that's probably gonna be a hold again against the Thunder yeah that one will probably come back Anderson picked up about eight yards on that keeper it is a holding call against the Thunder so they've had some problem with some penalties yeah that one was right there at the point of attack as soon

124as Anderson went around you could see one of the discover canyon linemen just grabbed one of the the D lineman pulled him down on the play so discovery cane has had some penalties tonight they've they've been able to overcome him they popped a couple of big plays right after they've been called for those penalties but I get you off schedule for a team that wants to run the football well I know you're up 20 but that's not enough no I don't think with Webb luisa they can score quickly and if they happen to manage to stop the Thunder tonight look out they haven't done it yet Zach Anderson they stopped him for a field goal but that was it Anderson looking he'll come to his man list ello well Stello pushes him forward lluís tries

130by ryan Monteleone oh sure was I mean they had to answer and discovery Canyon on offense they have not yet been stopped they've kicked one field goal they haven't punted we don't want to jinx um by any means but they haven't turned it over they've taken care of the football and and they've gotten production out of everybody Kevin passion with a touchdown two for Marshall pike drew let's Talos a candor sitting right there Monteleone gets on the scoreboard six touchdowns tonight one field goal six extra points at a field well that's nine points for Griffin Anderson by his right foot as he trots out to kick this one off again and last time you let them return it let's see if he does it again I don't know if he's getting tired he might be

132they they were down big in the first half they came right back with two touchdowns late and they scored one early in this half the DC sees defense now they're going to be challenged they've been challenged all night by the way that they've had to spread the field they've done a terrific job but 10:40 left here in the fourth quarter and big lead for discovery Canyon they've got to keep this offense at bay Joe Padula came in late for the Eagles he spread out to the right trying to get up the middle look again Luke and Radha not enough space is Discovery Canyon just closes quickly and who else in there but gauge Clausen right up the middle just plays the quarterback keep stays back wraps the quarterback up and puts him down engaged class

133and he had a great first half he was causing all sorts of problems for Pueblo East back in the backfield and there he stays back and makes the tackle and jarana still in the shotgun pressured again by Clausen has to throw this one away if he throws it at the feet of Braden Harding it'll be third down and again good pressure the same guy Clausen up the middle and forcing Andrada to go out to his left which makes it very difficult the right-handed quarterback everybody everything is moving to his left he's got to square the shoulders up to make that throw just didn't have time to do it and the path ends up hitting the deck 39 so Andrada looks at the Thunder defense again as the crowd goes crazy here for discovery Canyon and

134drought of looks throws deep got a man down there with some speed but it's over his head Marvin London junior couldn't come down with it and that'll be fourth down and the Eagles have to punt again and you could see the arm strength there by Andrada how far he threw that ball about 50 yards in the air and Marvin London junior he can run he was out in front but the ball had to be released a little too soon ends up falling to the ground and fourth and long now for the Eagles I would let you know Caden Bowman is the punter for the Eagles he spun it three times tonight three times more than they have all season coming into this game but he's got some speed too I'll bet he's got the green
