001good evening and welcome inside Liberty High School in Colorado Springs Colorado for some boys 5a high school basketball my name is Brian German alongside Jason Carter the Lancers playing host to the Coronado Cougars tonight and Jason for the Lancers it's their last regular season game so they're hoping to use this as a tune-up for that eventual state tournament yeah they're definitely well within the state tournament rankings within the most recent chasse RPI percentages as we take a look at a team comparison between the two Liberty sitting at that 16 and 6 record they've done a great job most those losses have pretty much come to two teams so against anybody but those two they've done really well putting up just about 63 points per game which you can see is better the Cougars have an
002advantage in the assists and rebounds but that's pretty much it it certainly is the Cougars have had a rough year this year but hopefully they're they're trying to turn it around they have two regular season games left with is against Liberty and rampart high school to the best teams at least ranking wise in 5a as well as the Doherty Spartans who said atop this Metro league the best Liberty can do is third place in the Metro League they've lost to Dougherty and rampart those are the two teams you referenced earlier but for the Lancers tonight I think they just want to try and gel more get get to playing some good basketball before that tournament yeah this is a good chance for some guys possibly to get some run in that haven't gotten a ton
003of playing time that really could play into that state tournament when it comes around in a couple of weeks so hopefully these seniors will get out of here healthy and be able to put together a good run senior night at Liberty High School will come back with the start of this one stay tuned right here on 20 TV you welcome back inside a rocking Liberty high school Brian German alongside Jason Carter for this five a boys basketball action let's get to the start is really quick for the Coronado Cougars it'll be ladarius maze Kaden Stanley cherith Mori Bryce McKee and Ashton Rogers Rogers dropped in 20 the last time these two teams played and for the Liberty Lancers coach Ivan Chambers going with his four seniors on senior night Jacob burns mows Doria Kyle bozlovski
004and Connor Eloi Eloi and Levi Valentine a junior 64 forward will get the start and jump Center against Morey for Coronado we have just about set to go ball is up and in play and the Cougars chop that one down and get the opening tip Bryce McKee up top and Liberty will drop back in there it's like a sagging man-to-man they're playing at this point nice pass inside blocked by most Doria right away on senior night he wants to take a coast to coast for the chippy got it Mo's Doria two-nothing Liberty great timing on the defensive end Victoria and then good heads-up play to get down the court another big play right there by Kyle bozlovski to get the steal gets it to Connor Eli in the corner and now the Lancers will slow
005it up and get it the dory up top eli looking Connor Eli does not have a scoring average playing tonight because it's senior night he's in there Mo's Doria up and misses it can't get his own rebound or candy joso gets it out to boas Loski get it to Eli in the corner can't get it to go nice offensive rebound by Levi Valentine the big junior but he loses the ball out of bounds and it's gonna be cougar ball good hustle from Liberty there to get a couple of offensive rebounds that's gonna be big if they want to try and pull away from this Coronado team Bryce McKee up top will play it in the corner to Stanley down low back up top Rodgers he could shoot from just about anywhere misses this one big
006rebound by Valentine and here come the Lancers back up the court eli thinking about it won't take it good job heads-up play by the senior doesn't get a lot of minutes for the Lancers nice to see him getting out there on senior night Louis lossky thought about it in the corner now gets it inside Valentine running a two-man game on the side Pulaski can't get it to go big rebound by Morey and the Cougars back in business but key has some talent just maybe a little bit of bad luck on the season at 4 and 17 yeah they've had quite a few close games just haven't been able to pull any of those victories out the key gets a screen from Rogers goes up in Kansas we're tied at 2 Coronado coach David Thomas likes
007the patience of his team tied at 2 Eli those baseline nice pass over in the corner to burns got it take a burn set up nicely hits the three great take by Eli to find the baseline wide open in the corner McKee up top again this time drives to Morey the big man puts it up and in six-six senior for Coronado he's a presence down low only had four points in their first meeting Doria with a Miss nice rebound by bonus laughs key he'll work it around top burns got it again Jacob burns has come to play on senior night unlimited range there from burns as he was about 5 feet or so behind the 3-point arc Burns had 19 the first time these two teams play led the Lancers in that effort there's a
008shop for maize up top won't go and they gonna get a foul on burns he's gonna get three shots let's see what they say nope you're gonna say twas after the shot Mays just a sophomore for Coronado so already starting varsity you know he's probably the future of his cougar program second leading scorer on the team at 11.6 per game here he is on the side being guarded again by burns inside maze can't get it to go there comes Mo's Doria pushing it up the court running with just about everyone good presence of mind nice pass over to Louis Lasky for two more for the Lancers it's 10-4 good buddy at Coronado wants a timeout we'll take a timeout as well Lancers up six we'll be back with more on 20 TV you back inside
009Liberty high school there's a good look at Jacob burns starting the senior not out well Jason yeah - - from beyond the arc for the six points as Liberty has a six-point advantage there's McKee up top for Coronado gets it over to maze finds a cutter inside stanley and backed amazed and it's gonna be the second foul on the Lancers in the first on Kyle Pulaski so amazed the limb band again Lancers really looking at Rogers who had 20 the first time they played mais this time can't get it to go Moore's Doria runs that rebound down out races McKee comes inside OH try to get it to Eli off his hands and out of bounds II says that's my back kind of threw a bullet right out of it possibly a few feet away
010oh yeah little bit hard on the pass from Doria but a good break once again from Liberty a key comes up and the key will stay out both lofts key not worried about him too much lets him stay out near half court this is the corner shot Rogers finally hits one his first three of the night you can see how he dropped 20 that was a nice shot in the corner there from Rogers even with a guy running at him Doria bushes Rogers in that one knocked out of bounds by Stanley and will stay with the Lancers so far close game the first time around Liberty won by 10 Lancers not really blowing teams out this year no they've had quite a few single-digit victories 5 6 9 points and it works so far for
011him Conner Eli gets into the score book on senior night with 3 13 7 Lancers great shot by Eli they're from the corner and the crowd loved it too and the other chanting his name Lancer loonatics loving their seniors tonight the key works off a pic puts it up again he's got a nice shot that's 2 for 2 for Bryce McKee yeah great little pull-ups there from about the elbow now the Coronado fans trying to return the chant yep out front get a tip Eli in the corner they're gonna leave him open Mo's Doria up top takes his time back out to Eli Oh Connor Eli good to see that ladarius maze back for Coronado and the key up top Maes nice crossovers in the lane up can't get it to go and as a
012late whistle but I do believe a foul on Levi Valentine great little shake and bake there for maze to get into the lane just couldn't quite get it up on the glass as we take a look at that Connor Eli three hits second of the game so far and here's a little shake and bake good little up and under just not quite high enough off the glass let's tumbling into our cameraman as you mentioned ladarius bay is just a sophomore it's gonna be an outstanding player for these Cougars so that graphic quickly Liberty out shooting Coronado here early his maze hits the first one three-point shooting right now really the difference as Liberty for six in Coronado just one a three-second shot misses rebound Valentine and Rodgers tie up and they're gonna say it's a
013hell ball and it'll go to the Lancers good job by Valentine to tie Rodgers up on that one and here comes Liberty Oh Slav ski down low can you find anywhere to go to finally Moe's Doria pops out he wants burns to come and get it nice back pass back to our past it burns but he couldn't keep control and it goes out of bounds good look there by Moe's Dorian yeah a great play from Liberty they just couldn't hold onto it at the other end that bounce pass on that backdoor cut was pretty price McKee brings it up as coach David Thomas barks out some instructions for his team Rodgers blocked by Moe's Doria that's his second block of the night Levi Valentine comes down with that one and they're gonna get a foul
014on Coronado first foul of the game called on the Cougars and it's going to be on Rogers and pretty typical Mo's Doria fashion he's doing a little bit of everything here blocking a couple of shots as we take a look at his most recent one leading the breaks early on dishing out some nice passes both slovsky's comes up and Eli with him Elan takes control that basketball gets it to Dorian the Lancers being very deliberate here with a six-point lead 1:15 left first quarter burns keeps trying to cut corn out of doing a good job defensively so far here's Eli again it's third three misses this one though and the Coronado fans gonna get on it for that one with air ball nice cut Ashton Rodgers can't get it to go but slovsky's gonna get
015his second foul coming across the arm of Ashton Rodgers bozlovski just a little bit slow on that rotation as we take another look another great backdoor and Kyle just trailing the play couldn't quite get up high enough so Rogers goes to the line he'll be shooting to trying to get to five on the night for himself ooh nice touch can't get to go 16cm now Shawn both laugh ski comes in for liberty Roger second shot six three senior forward where the Cougars got the second four points now for Rogers the last minute of this quarter let's see what I haven't chambers wants his team to do he calls out a play after a state that's to the west of us try not to give away as often try not to Doria up top Eli and
016they swing it to the younger bozlovski Shawn number 22 is the junior Kyle number 10 is the senior trade one bozlovski for another Doria up top burns he'll shoot from out there can't get it to go Valentine couldn't get it Rodgers comes down with a rebound here comes Coronado plenty of time for McKee thought about popping it here comes maze from the outside won't go most Doria Baker rebound inside ten seconds now the Lancers slow down play for that one shot Doria drives inside nice pass they're going to call a foul and it's going to be on Rogers and that's going to be Ashton Rodgers second take another look Doria a nice little crossover it's going to dish it off at the last second but took the got the block down low and he's gonna
017have a couple of free throws dorium you see already with five rebounds in this first quarter this is that first shot [Applause] they're gonna keep Rogers in there with his two fouls but they're gonna throw them back in the backcourt and it's a tough call for David Thomas but bench not very deep for Coronado dorias second shot can't get it to go rebound Coronado three seconds two seconds Magee tried to get it through Valentine takes it he'll throw out the length of the court into the stands and that's the way we'll finish quarter number one the Lancers with a five-point lead 16 to 11 backed with quarter number two after this on 20 TV [Music] you back inside Liberty High School the Lancers with a 16 to 11 lead Brian German alongside Jason Carter the
018Lancers have brought him Gus Revis and DeLand Smith into the lineup they'll be out there with Jacob burns Moe's Doria and the younger Shawn boskie Coronado now with the substitutions as well Justin Dwinell in the game that's Rogers with a Miss Doria comes down with rice and share also in the game for Coronado Smith up top to burns gets it back out to rebus up top Smith's gonna take that shot he'll miss it airball chant comes from the corn out of crowd as ladarius maize comes back up the court being guarded by belowski and the Cougars Holt spit it up set it up with Bryce McKee up top Rogers being guarded by Doria Rogers playing with two fouls here early in the second quarter maize with a nice catch out front and Coronado it's gonna
019work that ball around here Rogers cutting inside nice play by Ashton Rodgers to get open inside great patience by Coronado they ran quite a few of those little flex cuts off ball screens and eventually found a guy wide open Doria up top drives on Rogers daelin Smith back to Doria nice step back shot won't go how about Smith on the rebound there daelin Smith but he couldn't hang on to the ball it goes out of bounds it's gonna be Coronado basketball yeah good effort underneath by the Lancers just couldn't quite come away with it as Toria the second leading scorer and the Colorado Springs Metro League just unlucky on that last shot nice little step-back Mo's is quick out there nice inside again to maize outside block this time by Smith Galen Smith got it
020maybe got a foul on Liberty or no it touched the Liberty and while they were out of bounds let's look at it again great closing speed there because he was all the way underneath the basket to get out there in time to block that maze underneath gets it inbounds back to Rogers though flops keep is out of bounds on that last call was the call they're here they try and squeeze it through can't get it Smith's on the ground and we'll see if they say it's a held ball they do this time it should belong to Liberty more substitutions back into the game Kaden Stanley and jerath Morey for Coronado the interesting to see if Liberty goes after Rogers with those two fouls only a couple minutes into the second quarter that could really turn
021the tide if Coronado's top scorer has to take a seat and really surprised he's still guarding most Doria you'd think he would switch him up a little bit this job boleslav ski can't hit the shot Morey with the rebound the Cougars on the run nice pass over to ladarius may he's gonna bring it up inside circus shot can't get it to go Moe's Doria back the other way gets it to post lossky back to Doria well the quickness to stop on the time nice pass inside the rebus for two great passing there by Liberty as they found the open man a couple of times and then Oh pretty much uncontested layup that comes Coronado only down five 1813 Stanley up top in the corner to Rogers thought about it don't work it core now to
022get good looks at the basket when they're patient like this maze inside loses it knocked away by burns but key gets it back amazed with a screen he'll take that shot almost blocked again by Doria and out comes Dale and Smith with the ball nice cross between the legs takes it up himself they're gonna call a bucket defender looked like he was there but Smith went around him check it out again oh man he's wondering who the fouls on he called it on to there is no number two on the court so it's on number 11 Kaden Stanley take another look here that great crossover about midcourt and then got it over the defender coming across for the block for the bucket and the foul daelin Smith trying to make a three-point play the conventional
023way and he misses it rebound McKee back up the court comes Coronado Cougars got to be careful now they don't want Liberty to get any more of a lead that delivered offense up top Stanley this is Rogers [Music] coach Graham still saying continued patience outside shot up Stanley can't get it to go rebound though good job by sheer to come away with that one out to McKee they'll set it back up sheer thought about it but he's gonna walk moved his pivot foot they'll call it every time Jason didn't look like he was quite ready for that quick of a pass back to himself after he kicked it out of the corner kind of caught him off guard a little back into the game for a Liberty Conner Eli Jacob burns will have a seat
024as we come down to the midway point of quarter number two Rory vas up top working on Maury in the corner beau Slav ski doesn't want it and the Lancers will take their time Rivas with a nice move inside kicks it out to Eli they're worried about him out there now that's a Smith for three is second air ball of the night I'm going to move in a little bit here comes McKee up top over Doria got it Price Maki's been on fire for Coronado and he's got a great stop and pop he's done that a couple of times coming off his screen that time on the fast break he's got that one down there's Doria working against Rogers with the two fouls Rogers doesn't want to get that third lucky the corner Rogers Lancers
025packing it in on defense they get it to Maury the younger end smaller Pawlowski on him Doria to Pulaski up it count it no foul but two points for Shawn boskie and again Toria thread the needle with yet another bounce pass to submerge the extra resulted in two points up top open shot for Stanley Hill air ball and as a foul on maurya's Dori I was going against going for the rebound here's a take another look most Doria check out the great bounce pass in transition for the layup and the younger Polaski brother with the layin you mentioned the versatility of Mo's Doria everybody talks about him cuz he's the second leading scorer in the metro league but man he rebounds the basketball and he keeps his eyes up the floor yeah he's got eight
026rebounds and four assists here through the first nearly two quarters of this game plus a couple of blocks Salaam Suki Levi Valentine junior gets it over to Reeboks Knights behind the back play gets it inside the Valentine work it out the Doria thought about it we've seen your move there he's gonna pull it down go inside up and miss it Mo's dorias gonna go back to the free-throw line just so tough he can get the ball to the rim no matter what position that his body's in that time he took contact and basically threw it up from the far side of his body with his right hand and still almost got it to fall Bryce McKee call for the foul so Doria hoping to do better than he did last time from the charity stripe
027missed both last time gets the first one Levi balanced eye drops back leaving Eli and rebus wrong with Moe's for his second shot got it hosed Oreo with six now and into the game daelin Smith Moe's doriel have a seat and there he is good look at him at Doria 76% free-throw shooter so the fact that he missed those first two is probably it's more of an anomaly now Lowell answers come with a little bit of a zone press the key trying to break it gets by Bose lossky nice pass over to mori mori goes up walk by Valentine and daelin Smith comes down with a rebound we got a foul on Coronado [Applause] defense by Liberty early has been great the blocks the timings been wonderful as they got another one inside there they
028call that foul on Bryce McKee his second he stays in the game as well 207 left second quarter and now Kyle Busch lofts keys back in the game daelin Smith up top as the Lancers that built in 11-point lead try to get it to Pulaski good job by Kyle to bring that one in it's a Valentine and the Lancers will take their time Revis a nice spin move up can't get it to go it comes Stanley up the court for Coronado nice cutting the key he'll take it down the lane at school price McKee it's been a really bright spot for Coronado tonight yeah he's got a point so far through the first two quarters and the Coronado fans Oh both laugh ski and easy two for Kyle Lohse Loski his second bucket of the
029night and a great feed from Connor Eli just waited for him to get open off the screen and he found him in in a groove sorry McKee scored that last bucket the Coronado fans were saying mullet power had to get that one on a key up top now Stanley works gets a screen from cher Stanley inside up can't get it to go nice offensive rebound by sheer but the bucket won't go but he was fouled got the Empire inside position off that initial miss shot which was a little wild and there was Levi Valentine and gets the foul for liberty he had us two fouls now so he and Kyle Busch lofts key with two fouls for liberty but a whistle before maze went up of that ball and it's gonna be a 1 in
0301 for liberty David Thomas's player control foul he's not gonna get it and it looks like right for the moment Levi's Valentine's gonna go to the line foul was on jerath Morey his second and here comes Valentine won't go down Coronado share gets it to maze maze brings it across the time line or not I would love to get this inside of 10 at halftime the key the sheer up top with Valentine on it but Darius Mane's working on Eli it's a nice screen doesn't want it gets it back to Mackie it work it in the corner to maze maze thinking about it back outside to McKee they'll take their time 15 seconds Brice McKee dribbles it way out front daelin Smith lets him Ivan says nope don't even bother going out there 5 seconds
031for Brice McKee he works at in the lane try to get it to Morey with the scoop wouldn't go 1 second shot by boo Slav ski well off and that's the way the first half comes to an end 28:17 Lancers with an 11-point lead we'll come back and talk about things here at halftime you're watching 5a boys basketball on xx TV you we're back inside Liberty High School where the Lancers out of 28 to 17 lead over Coronado's Cougars I'm Brian German alongside Jason Carter and Jason kind of what we expected in this game the Lancers at 16 and 6 the Cougars at 4 and 17 and Lancers getting the job done yeah and they've done it from everywhere really they've hit four three-pointers to just one as you take a look at some of
032the highlights and talk about being everywhere most Doria has done it all here with the block on the very first play the game goes coast to coast for the kiss off the glass nice job for him for they also hit from outside some big threes you mentioned that's Jacob burns hitting one on senior night also Connor Eli the senior gets another one yeah four of ten the big story for Coronado has been number 13 Bryce McKee he's got a team high 8 points is the fans back here loving the mullet power for the Cougars as we see a couple of jumpers there from the free-throw line and you love this what your hair looks like in high school right Jason I could never grow it out that long Liberty would come back though and they
033would stretch this to an 11 point lead daelin Smith got that and again most Doria with the steal this time he's gonna dish nicely over to Shawn Bose laughs key for the bucket and Lancers have that 11-point lead here's a look at the numbers and so far Liberty shooting the ball really well yeah they're 11 of 22 overall from the field for 10 from beyond the arc while Coronado 7 and 21 to overall in just 1 of 8 from three-point land and then you see the assists 7 and 4 those go to Mo's Doria who's got 6 points 8 boards four assists couple steals and a couple blocks turnovers also hurt in Coronado at those 7 compared to Liberty's 3 so I'm sure David Thomas is gonna say guys quit turning the ball over and
034let's start to make some shots and maybe we can make a game out of this that's where we stand at halftime Liberty up 28 to 17 we'll come back with second-half action after this on 20 TV you welcome back inside the Liberty High School just about set to start the second half of this one between Liberty and Coronado Bryan German alongside Jason Carter and Jason we talked a little bit about liberty and being ranked in in the state but we didn't say the number 12 that's where they are in the RPI and are you impressed with this team so far than what you've seen of them this year not just tonight and are they worthy of that ranking I guess I think they truly are and I've seen a handful of the teams who are
035ranked in front of them as well and I think that number 12 rankings probably pretty close to where they do belong and that gets him a bye in the first round of the 5a state playoffs if they stay within that top 16 which they could probably do if they win this tonight mullet power comes back and gets two more make it 10 for Bryce McKee of Coronado he's been the real bright spot for the Cougars here like you mentioned 10 on 5 of 5 shooting perfect from the field now to Valentine will come back up top to burns the Lancers back in there with those four seniors on senior night burns gets it to Pulaski coach Graham one at a five-second call o salafi nice kick in the corner Valentine up and in a three-pointer
036by the junior those are his first three points on his first field goal actually so not a bad way to start 31:19 and we can't pass along that the Liberty girls team down at Coronado they lead the Cougars as well but 33 to 11 Liberty girls really having a good season well Darius Mays back out top for Coronado gets a screen from Rogers he'll try and work on Mo's Doria has to kick it out price McKee has really been the star and he stops and pops and that's maybe his first Miss of the night but Morey gets the rebound gets it back to McKee maze up top pulls it back and Coronado will reset coach David Thomas watching his team run the offense Rodgers left open but they're gonna call a foul on burns I
037believe on the screen he ran right through it that's his third oh my bad his second foul I can't count fingers Jason don't flash your happy mm it's inside ladarius maze he goes up against Valentine Valentine Williams as he blocks that one that is blocked number four for the Lancers today get it out to Moe's Doria nice hands it Stanley knocks it away to maze maze works on Dori I can't get around him those he loses it and they say it went off of the back of dorias leg despite what Moe's thinks it'll be Coronado basketball sophomore going up against the senior there on senior night and it's the senior who comes away with the knock away let's see if it can result in two points but Darius maze waited on burns to get him
038and I think that's gonna be burns his third foul see I knew something was coming with it's coming Jacob burns with his third foul now maze why he waited so long and threw of a wild shot should make sure he could make the basket and get the foul instead he goes to the line for two first one misses he's one of three so far tonight and Ivan chambers would like a timeout interesting wondering what Ivan wants to say we'll keep it right here what Ivan wants to say all it is for seniors I don't know if he just wants to remind them the importance of this game or what he's saying there Jason yeah with his team up by 12 it's not like they've cut into their lost any of their lead they were up
03911 at halftime as you see their updated scores 31 19 so not a hundred percent sure what Ivan might have been disappointed at was a little bit of an ugly sequence down there for his team but now get to fret over I don't think a bee just wants them to refocus be ready there's two of the seniors on senior night Doria both lofts key talking it out good crowd of Lancer lunatics over in the stands as Mays sets up for his fourth free throw of the night he's made one so far this is this one Mo's Doria can't get the rebound they work it inside to Rogers and he gets a nice roll good job by Ashton Rogers and Rogers has eight points there on those two he had 20 the first time these two
040teams met Pulaski gets it to Eli Eli way out front on mace now I guess the Doria slovsky's thinks about it Doria stops pops can't get it to go here comes coronado Bryce McKee nice pass in the quarter Stanley he'll shoot the three can't get it to go Doria another rebound looks up nice job Jacob burns can't get it to go but they're gonna call a foul on Stanley great look there from Doria three-quarter court pass off the rebound his ninth of the game by the way up to a burns just couldn't quite get it to fall Doria really has good presence good sense Court sense as they like to say there's a good look at burns got to go earns with seven points now can make it a nice eight has all of the
041seniors here having a good night it'd be kind of neat if Ivan chambers can get all of his seniors to get double figures on senior night the key up top Stanley Stanley thinks about it this is the final regular-season game for Liberty not so for Coronado nice pass inside cherith Mori can't get it to go though Doria his tenth rebound nice pass over to Eli oh just misses there trying to get Eli points number seven and eight here comes maze back the other way Doria goes up with him and renée's gets the bucket it's a 10-point game again Lancers bringing it back up the previous time these two teams played at Coronado Lancers had a big third quarter and I gotta say that was on the ground it's gonna be on Maury jerath Maury his
042third foul yeah you mentioned the big third quarter they outscored Coronado by ten in that third quarter the last time these teams played in the middle of January Justin Dwinell comes in for mori the six-six senior out of the game well off ski easy bucket give it to Kyle Bosch lofts key all 14 years with at least six points now kee up top Bryce McKee a junior Stanley and Maury two seniors on Coronado along with dwinelle and Rogers McKee again spots up this time he's off well off ski with the rebound that's Shawn knocked away by McKee how about mullet power there is he steals it and gets it to Rodgers shot up won't go Rodgers his own rebound historia this is again another rebound this time goes back can't get it Doria can't reach
043it this time when el gets it back outside to Stanley and maze will set it up for Coronado some hustle plays now by Coronado is they try and stay in this game down 12 alright smokey up top working on burns maze looks at over this Liberty just sinks back on that defense Rogers thinking about it corn out a very very patient not taking many of those outside shots a Liberty trying to goad him into amazed in the corner working on Valentine nice cutter and blocked by Doria they say before the shot there was a foul and if that's on burns that's his fourth and it is a tough one for Jacob burns into the game comes de lijn Smith and Gus Rivas they'll come in for burns and Valentine we're gonna take a timeout 320
044left third quarter 35:23 Lancers in the lead will come back with more on 20 TV you we're back in Liberty High School 35:23 Lancers comfortably ahead by 12 but Jason Coronado has been making some plays and there's scrappy bunch if they can start making some shots they can get back in this thing yeah they've had quite a few offensive rebounds I mean they had three on one possession by Rodgers he just couldn't get the points in the bucket the key can't get it inbounds but he runs it down and they're gonna call it off of daelin Smith and it'll stay with Coronado good hustle by Bryce McKee yeah nicely done mullet power certainly in full display there we didn't come up with it folks they started chanting it before we thought Rodgers in the corner
045gets it to McKee nice wraparound pass won't go and there's a foul called it's not gonna be on Revis nope gonna call it on daelin Smith that's just his first foul great feed there once again from McKee just wrapping it around the defender McKee he's gonna do a lot more for this cougar team he's over here talking to coach David Thomas right now he's got 10 points in this game to Whannell misses the first free throw he'll have another one of the seniors on this team 6-3 Ford can't get it to go and that one comes down and I gotta say went off of Doria and out of bounds but you gotta make some free you got to make some shots whether the free throws or something to get back in this game Coronado really
046needs them to get some points yeah 2 of 8 from the free-throw line for Coronado not a great stat they're key up top gets it to share share working and Coronado will take their time as usual McKey thought about cutting inside on boslov ski Mazal shoot from outside can't get it to go off the rebound and it's gonna be knocked about it bounced again by Daurio will just keep it down here at this end good hustle from both teams no one can just seem to hold on to the ball for very long not at all Mazal inbound it doesn't know where to go with it well Slav ski was taking his chance there and get it into sheer sheer does a good job hanging on with that basketball in Coronado we'll set it up the
047key he's gonna come down the left-hand lane nice shot can't get it to go though Rivas with the rebound for liberty Gus Rivas and Liberty will take their time as you would expect up 12 Doria working on Rodgers Revis drives nice ball moving here by Liberty just moving it around making that corn out of Defense work trying to where the Cougars down I have a chambers not worried about how many how many points his team scores just worried about getting the victory Kyle to his brothers Shawn Shawn plays up top comes down the lane and scores Shawn boskie second bucket of the night he's got four that comes Bryce McKee nice pass Oh tough play by Justin Dwinell can't get it to go but another foul on the Lancers yeah another great feed to from
048a key between a couple of defenders second straight possession he's pulled that off and gotten free throws for his teammate check out there the younger philosophy brother getting all the way to the rim Shawn for two so just into an Al whistle before he can get that shot off the foul is on Kyle bus laughs key his third dwinelle misses again Oh for three from the line for Justin back into the game Kayden Stanley for ladarius Mays when L has to look into the large cutout head of Moe's Doria maybe that's what's bothering at the line he's over for Lance's get the rebound talansky up top to Smith nice little weave a little stutter step Moe's Doria can't get it to go up Creperie boss and they're gonna call a foul is that gonna be
049on Mikey not sure who the official nope it's gonna be on Justin Dwinell is first makea what about it's this third Lancers now trying to build on that 14-point lead Kyle the Slav ski underneath goes out to Dale and Smith and the Lancers will take their time Mo's Doria so quick but being very patient with that basketball Smith loses this one Stanley comes up with it it's good to go off of him and stay with the Lancers sloppy basketball here for most part in the third quarter really make a decent passive and they do who it's cut off the hands of the recipient Rivas into Kyle Busch lossky coach Thomas liken that the Cougars are making the Lancers work Slav ski and get it gets it out to his brother Shawn shot up won't go
050rebound Shearer gets it to Brice McKee and the Cougars are running nice pass Oh pads Whannell down low can't fault the key for that one maybe just a little bit too fancy it's like he expected someone else to be a little bit closely because he jumped up and then bounce passed it at the last second well slovsky's it up we'll see if I haven't chambers wants his team to play for one here under one minute nope he's just watching his team flag they want to run a play miss Loski wraps around the key takes it up inside can't get it to go McKee gets the rebound so bring it all the way up the court stop pop this time he's short he's been shortened this happen he gets his own rebound again leaves his feet
051but gets the ball over to Rodgers takes his shot blocked out of bounds daelin Smith fifth block of the game there for liberty is Smith had absolutely no problem getting up on the shorter McKee for that one check it out again McKee with good position but Wow the Ida Smith Gobert got over the fast that extra dribble probably messed him up even though it set him up for the three-pointer gave Smith time to get over there and Bryce McKee steps back out on to the court now now David Thomas wants a timeout he wants to set something up here 37:23 just about just under 26 seconds left here in the third quarter we'll keep it right here and David Thomas I like how he's doing this he's got a team with their 4 and 17
052on the year he knows they have this game the rest of this game and one game left in their season and it'll be over so he probably wants to get as much out of his team as he can yeah he's given a lot of his younger guys an opportunity to play which is great to see I mean Mays will be a big guy in the future for this team you know along with some of their other ones the key is only a junior so you know get these kids an opportunity to run a play with under 26 seconds left because come next year you never know if they'll be in a situation like this that it'll be a game winner exactly we'll see what they run with McKean they got Shearer in there before they
053started McKee was not going to throw the ball in bounds and this time he's going to so David Thomas has drawn up a play we'll see what he's drawn up some screens they get it to Rogers up top and work it back to Stanley wide open in the corner can't get it to go to an L nice offensive rebound inside doesn't wanna put it back up throws it away as Smith comes away with it and they're gonna call a foul on dwinelle his second you can't fault him for that though he tried to get the ball back after he got the offensive rebound and then threw it away tough for a big guy those six three get that offensive rebound take that ball up take that ball up inside David Thomas pushing the key back
054out onto the court now into the game is Monta Anderson for the Lancers and he has possession of the ball he brings it forward Monta saw a play on the JV team before this game misses that shot here comes Bryce McKee three seconds two seconds gets it over in the corner shot up nope late for Stanley took that dribble again probably could have gotten it off but that's the way the third quarter ends 37:23 will come back with the fourth quarter from Liberty High School after this on 20 TV [Music] you [Music] time for the fourth quarter at Liberty High School Lancers up 14 Cougars trying to get back into this game different third quarter than the last time these two men only 15 points this time around last time there were 38 and there's
055a foul inside as he got the ball to Gus Riva bells on Stanley his third and fifth team foul and the Lancers set to him bound the ball Rivas comes outside Monta Anderson and I have a chambers going with some some of his reserve players well the only starter is Connor Eli who doesn't normally start to start it tonight on senior night and there's a foul up top on Coronado fouls on Rodgers that's going to be his third he did a good job playing with two fouls since early in the second quarter yeah it's probably heard of my defense a little bit though - there were a couple of shots there in the second quarter he probably would have contested normally but because he had those two fouls he did Connor Eli working on the
056key gets it across half court oh the crowd loves Connor Eli but he throws the ball the way Rodgers comes up with it Monty Monty Anderson trying to get the basketball and it goes out of bounds no fouls called it's gonna stay with Coronado so you see some of the Lancer lunatics in the background and it started cheered inside Rogers gets it over Eva Scott it three more for Ashton Rogers and he's in double figures with 11 with that three-pointer Smith up top work soon we got a hold inside again on Kaden Stanley that's gonna be his fourth as the fouls continue to stack up here in the fourth quarter and now the Lancers will be shooting from now on as Rivas goes to the line for a one-on-one Coronado and some foul trouble definitely
057you just mentioned Stanley's got for both Maury and Rogers both have three so that something we'll have to watch as his fourth quarter progresses so Rivas makes the first lines up for a second won't go rebound Coronado and McKee the key brings it up on Smith nice pass in the corner to maze maze goes baseline can't get it to go rebuffed big rebound here come the Lancers in the corner Anna Riva slows it down up top works on the key back in the corner to Anderson in the Lancers good job by these reserve players not pushing it you know a lot of times your reserve so you don't get a lot of playing time just want to score when they get in the game they're doing a good job just staying patient working that basketball
058Smith up top and he goes in on maize they're gonna call a foul on ladarius maize amazingly enough that'll be his first personal foul but it's the eighth team foul on Coronado and so Smith will go to the line he's shot 1 tonight free-throws haven't necessarily been Liberty's friend so far tonight 5 of 10 from the charity stripe if they're gonna pull this game out they're gonna have to start hitting a few of those it's the first one that's a good start 6 of 11 your honor just got to go 1 for 1 that's it daelin Smith is six - junior forward I'm sure we'll see a lot more action next year as five seniors playing for the final regular-season game here at home tonight the key up top just Stanley Coronado taking their time
059liberties just gonna sit back in that zone up 14 Roger Stanley over Smith got it they started hitting a few of those look out Kaden Stanley gets that one in it's 11 point game third three-pointer of the night for Coronado they only had one in the first half so they're definitely suited better from beyond the arc here in the second half Rivas down the lane puts it up and in nice job by Gus Coronado comes right back swing it to the corner for Rogers and they'll move it around a key up top and Eli comes way out in that zone to play him up top another three shot won't go this time Valentine gets the rebound pushes out to Anderson the Lancers will run to Smith Smith all the way inside up can't get it
060to go and that might be jereth Morrie's fourth foul as I mention lots of Cougars with lots of fouls here's another look at it good take strong take to the rim right that is the 4th on Maury at this point you wonder if Davis Thomas will just leave these players with four fouls in the game both Stanley and Morey with fouls for thousands excuse me Smith gets the first one Smith now made his last three back into the game Jacob burns Coble slav ski and his brothers Shawn well stand there with a rebus and Smith it's two of the seniors get back in I haven't probably trying to work away to get the seniors to be pulled out of the game one by one Moe's Doria comes back in for Smith as he made that
061free throw rice McKee comes forward he'll run the offenses now it's a 15-point lead for the Lancers maize up top nice pick by Maury get it out to McKee another pick by Rogers tried to wrap it around to him the Lancers cut that one off and get the steal galovski across the time line looks for his brother gets it to us he throws it deep to burns he saw someone coming in Kabul slovsky's just kind of laughs that went off his burns went into the stands for that the brothers just looked at each other after that play they're like we've probably had better together Aniki brings it forward his Lancers stay back back now in a man-to-man up top to Rogers inside mori Wow look at that play by Rivas to block the ball from
062mori Mo's Doria bringing it up court nice pass inside try to get it back to Moe's didn't do so Doria doesn't seem to be worried about his average mori with a big block on rebus and we get a late whistle and he was out of bounds as he tried to save that one and keep it in bounce ball hit the line so Burns has the ball as we come down to the second half of the fourth quarter Shawn boskie up top price McKee comes out on him coach Graham saying he wants him to guard him way out top trying to get some 5 second counts Shawn boskie finds an open lane takes it inside Morey slapped the backboard no call here comes McKee back the other way for Coronado out to Stanley shot up got
063it Kaden Stanley starting to heat up he's got six points for the Cougars that cuts it to 12 we're gonna take a timeout we'll be back with the end of this the 4th quarter the Lancers up 12 C in a minute on 20 TV you welcome back inside Liberty High School 44 to 32 Lancers getting it from everybody tonight Jason yeah pretty much everyone who stepped on the floor has scored at least some points six guys with five points or more so it's hard from Coronado's perspective like who do you go after because they've been getting it from pretty much every direction well slovsky's it across the time line three of the four seniors for the Lancers still on the court Shawn boskie up top being guarded by Kaden Stanley trying to trap him out
064front but the Pulaski brothers I'll be even dribbling basketball since they were early infants Shawn boskie nice move down the lane gets it over to Rivas Gus with a shot outside can't get it to go rebound Rogers and here comes Coronado trying to cut that lead to ten get it over to maze ladarius blocked by rebus hosed Oreo with the rebound he sees Visclosky pushes it up to Kyle gets into his brother Shawn back to Mose can't go nice passing for liberty but the shot won't go Mo's door he goes to the line especially in tight there once they got into the final quarter of the of the court a couple of nice touch passes down low by Liberty those Doria are pretty happy as he chews on his uniform you'll have two shots just
065six points tonight but how about 12 rebounds this is the first one he does what you need him to do 12 rebounds 4 assists got the second way to refocus for Moe's there 45:32 and mullet power brings it back up for Coronado to Rogers Coronado inside kick it out to Rogers he runs into Mo's Doria they'll call that on Doria every time for Mo's dory is so active 12 rebounds he gets it just his first bout of the night and back Conner Eli back into the game so now the four seniors back on the court for Liberty two twenty nine left so we mentioned a nice ceremony for the seniors on senior night here tonight burns picks up a foul and that might be the way he exits the game because that's his fifth Jacob
066burns he'll walk off with eight points a couple of three-pointers made those first two three-pointers early in the game here for one of the four seniors nice night for Jacob on senior night eight points Galen Smith comes in and he gets a nice round of applause I wonder if they get to keep the fat head that's what I want to know sure they'd make you one if you really want to is it big I don't want to be gave the Stan Lee scores his first free throw of the night trying to get it to 11 now 45:33 got the next one you know he's been feeling it he sent his last two threes Lancers not out of this yet Smith in the corner started up by Maury get it to Mose Dorian he comes right
067down the lane they call him for a travel maybe a little bit aggressive there as he caught that ball and took some steps before he put it on the ground because there was absolutely no clear lane to the basket he wanted to dunk that one the key gets it inside Rogers Rogers nice moves loses the basketball try to get it outside to Stan Lee who was open for a three but no Lancers really packing it in on defense and they've really stopped Rogers like we've mentioned before he had 20 he's got 11 so far tonight but he's had to work for it on 11 shots with Darius maze inside draws a foul coach Thomas is liking this because Coronado can make some free throws they can get back into this game without the clock running
068and it's the if part of that statement you just say they are 4 of 11 so far in this game just 36% from the line they get 5 of 12 that'll help amount makes the first one we got a timeout from Ivan Chambers 45 35 we'll keep it right here Ivan chambers probably just gonna remind his team hey let's let's not get cheap fouls let's not let them score with the clock not running yeah they've really allowed corn I don't kind of hang around I know they're still down by 10 but Liberty has had the opportunity to put this game away I mean Doria had a wide open lane there probably could have dunked it brought this crowd into it really kind of shut the door and they didn't take advantage as far as David
069Thomas is concerned dude a good job and I'm really really happy with the way corn out of this play there's a good look at Ivan chambers in the lancers Ivan maybe not real happy with his team right now just making sure they want to execute properly on offense and do well it as I mentioned cornado Jason I think that's it's admirable that this team is playing this well at 4:00 and 1700 season nothing really to play for other than these games yeah they're looking to play spoiler maybe a little bit I mean a victory here by Coronado could really affect Liberty's playoff position I mean truly could knock him out of that possible getting to by in the first round and then hosting a second round game in the 5a tournament so they know that
070there's stuff at stake even if it's maybe not for their season they may be able to bring some heartache to someone else May's second shot won't go we got a foul it's gonna be on Morey who may have found out of the game he certainly has gareth mori one of the captains for this cougar teams out rice and cher comes in [Music] and rice McKee looked up at the scoreboard which had Maury with just one foul and said hey man you can come back in they fixed it quickly it's five fouls there's a good look at Maury getting some is that orange juice or was it some sort of aid Smith the free-throw line misses the first David Thomas liking this they're within ten I'd like to cut this win side ten anything can happen
071still two minutes left in this basketball game Smith had hit his last four free throws and rose he gets that one and here comes Becky up the court down 11 Coronado still fighting in this one it's about the maze in the corner Rogers there's Stanley wide open for three off the back iron rebound Mose Dory tips it to rebus and the Lancers will come up with the court horn out of trying to stop the Slav ski he comes right well he just kept dribbling away from the defense and he was wide open underneath and I hardly realized it he expected someone to kind of help to come from the outside and it never did so you're right it kind of took him by surprise cuz he was literally right underneath the basket Ashton Rogers with
072the Fowler's a look at it that Rogers to foul him from behind and he makes the first one table slop ski and there comes Connor Eli for the last time tonight Connor Eli not didn't get a lot of minutes throughout the season but on senior night he did a great job but it was final numbers there Jason yeah Eli came away with six points on two three-pointers he also had dished out a couple of assists so nice dunk nicely done by him on senior night 4835 a key up top for Coronado 1:30 now left in the game as the Lancer lunatics go crazy Rogers gonna shoot the three got it Ashton Rogers up to 14 points now for him cava Slav ski dribbles it up and again wide open there storia underneath mows Doria give
073him two more points quickly back comes to ladarius maze working on Shawn boskie pulls it back can't get it to go Daurio with another rebound he'll bring it forward get it to Smith and the Lancers oh nice steal ladarius maze picking the pocket of Smith he'll take it in nice pass back to Rogers for two more nice play there by maze most guys would have gone up and tried to get contact in the foul and said he found the teammate trailing for the easy two still a 10-point game that ball bounding around here comes Shawn boskie Doria goes up and in mows Doria might get to his to his average yet and that gives him a double-double he's got 11 points and 13 rebounds Kaden Stanley over to mace Coronado playing this one out down
07412 McKee shot up got it one last time we can say mullet power that cuts it to nine almost stolen away by Rogers Doria does get it stolen away they're gonna call a foul on the backside though that foul is gonna be on Bryce McKee and I believe Daurio will go to the line so Doria averaging 18 points again might be able to get up to 13 here with two more free throws first shot up mrs. know that I have a chambers not liking what his team is doing here from the free-throw line but Kyle bozlovski comes out of the game Tyler Lynch comes in and Kyle bozlovski on senior night getting a nice hand for the crowd and dorias second free throw is good and out he comes got a double-double on his final
075night as a senior in Liberty High School regular season anyway they will probably host a playoff game the key shot up that's Zachary pass Carillo in the game this one up and in the key just shucked it up for the 50-feet price pokey ends with 15 that's the way it'll end the Lancers hold off Coronado in the end a final score 53 to 45 so the Liberty Lancers moved to 17 and 6 on the year 8 and 4 in the 5a Metro League Coronado falls to 4 and 18 1 and 10 overall we hope you enjoyed our broadcast tonight for our entire 20 TV crew along with my broadcast partner Jason Carter this is bryan durman saying so long we'll see you next time on xx TV [Music] you
