001good evening and welcome inside Discovery Canyon High School for this girl's high school match up from two for a team's discovery Canyon Thunder and the Pueblo East Eagles my name's Brian German alongside Dave Toller they're getting to the starting lineups right now a day but this on paper looks like a pretty good basketball game DCC coming into four and one Pretlow East a few less games but they're 2 and 1 on the season yeah exactly Brian each team has just one loss but that one loss for each of these teams has come against one of the top five teams in the state enough and an interesting match if you got a DCC team that's played great defense this season allowing about 30 points a game you have a pleb lowest offense averaging over 50 a
002game should be a great matchup tonight should be a lot of fun let's get to the starting lineup for the Pueblo East Eagles it'll be Evelyn Valdes along with a Jana V Hill Natasha Rubio Rianna Cox and Riley Harding Harding the one to stop on pueblos east team number 33 for them she scores 21 points a game and for Discovery Canyon Brianna Smith number three Julia Carter is 12 Abigail Gannon 22 Kristina Schnabel 33 and the one everyone has seen right there in the middle of your screen Ashton prek ttle who's just a junior but she stands 6 foot 5 the tallest police tape player according to our stats is 5 foot 9 so you might have a little problem with that yeah they just might and I just said Brian just a junior first-team
003all-conference player last year as a sophomore and she wins the tip a little bit of a quick jump there by Cox discovery candy well working around on the side Brianna Smith comes inside there's a steal by Pueblo East and they're quickly up the court get it to Harding and they're gonna call her for a walk with the basketball she didn't get it down fast enough and we're still at 0-0 and my partner Dave Pollard trying to get them to start the clock they're having an issue with the clock as well and those and they're gonna run ten seconds off quickly and this will be discovery County basketball looks like blue East setting up to press and Breanna Smith will do the honors of inbounding the basketball quickly they come inside they've broken the press all
004the way down court Gannon Gannon up won't go Peck till the offensive rebound putback to nothing and that's what Ashton fractal does she averages almost fifteen points ten rebounds a game and you could see her running the floor very well at six-foot-five Harding on the corner to Valdez go work it around that's Rubio up top now to be Hill Harding they have to watch her she could shoot from anywhere as we mentioned 21 points a game and it's rebound down by Schnabel but Lewis backs off Smith gets it over to Carter who brings it across the time line inside to Kristina Schnabel second leading scorer on this team nice pass from freckle got away from her shot up won't go p-- rectal trying to get that off as a rebound has it puts it up
005won't go gets her own rebound up again can't get it Schnabel's their count it a hoop and some harm she's gonna go to the free-throw line three-point play Ashton pretzel patting the stats a few rebounds why exactly Brian that's what we thought with the size of this discovery Canyon team like we mentioned prick dolt six five novels five foot nine pushing five foot ten and you look at those two underneath they're gonna crash the board hard all night and they picked up three offensive rebounds on that last possession Nidal misses the free throw and out comes Rubio for East I'll get it - Harding up top Harding Rubio Cox and Vee he'll put up most of the points for Pretlow East this year inside Rubio shot up oh just misses it practically gets the rebound
006we're off and running Ganon brings it back the other way they will set it up inside fractal good job by Rubio getting back on defense here comes Harding trying to draw a foul there impress with Harding quite athletic Rubio up top and how to get it to Harding on the side she'll think about it it's discovery Canyon stays back in that zone shot up won't go rebound Smith discovery kandi just taking their time which they do most of this year they they don't mind just making sure they get a good shot down inside prec ttle puts it up but in speaking of a good shot that's a pretty good shot right there when you can get it down - temp rectal on the block four points now for prec ttle and you you can imagine
007that that's what Coach Heath Kirkham wants to do because Pueblo has such a height disadvantage in this game shut up or Rubio Kotik etosha Rubio gets a three and cuts the lead in half practical comes back to help against the press and now Smith will bring it forward had a player down low can't get it stolen away coming back the other way as Valdes Luiz working around this discovery caning zone if they could keep hitting threes they might pull the Thunder out Valdez up top fractal pretty much just hidden down inside in this 131 zone get it down low shot up blocked partially by prick though they're gonna call her with a foul it'll be Rihanna Cox going to the free-throw line went first all its prec delays in as many blocked shots as she
008has she doesn't take very many fouls has not felt out of a game in her high school career so going to the line shooting to here I believe is Rubio that fell is actually on Gannon not unpractical hip Cox hit the line hits it makes it six to four guy did not see Gannon there but they called it on Gannon which I'm sure coach Kirkham is okay with and the second shot good for Cox discovery Kenyon breaking this press pretty easily getting it down to Schnabel Schnabel up can't get it to go Cox and Rubio Rubio comes down with it brings it across the time line she'll go to that corner go down low and we're gonna get a a block called against Briana Smith her first personal foul so Schnabel now will take a
009seat Cora ferguson comes in for discovery canyon and it'll be eagle ball underneath get an inside rubio she thought about the three of top around a hearty parting with a nice move gets it to Rubio in the paint she hits it Natasha Rubio the senior forward averages 12 a game for Puebla East she's got five of their seven points so far and had given him some trouble here on the press or a Ferguson it's foul they're gonna call that foul on Evelyn Valdes that'll be the first on but Louis team Breanna Smith will take the ball out right in front us gets it into Abigail Gannon and Gannon brings it up Cox leaning on fractal fractal inside puts it down tough to do when you do that and harden gets away from her usually the
010taller players you don't want her to have to put it down she holds it high there's no way they can get it Harding to Val this kind of Cox and but Louisa head coach to gratis are wants a timeout we'll take it with him well Lou East with a one-point lead on discovery Canyon 7 to 6 348 left in the first we'll be back right after this on 20 TV you welcome back to Discovery Canyon High School webelo East has a one-point lead right now and was asked a ball up top Valdez can't get the shot practical gets the rebound and outlets it to Gannon across the time line this is now Sammy Edwards who's just checked into the game for the Thunder they try and get it down pretzel with the save Rubio comes
011up with it heat it to Harding on a side leading scorer for Luis yet to score she gets it by pretzel right there for her first bucket of the game boy great job by Pueblo East a team that's a little under sized in this game they've got great hands down low they forced a lot of turnovers they're hitting their outside shots and they have a three-point lead get it forward to Ferguson Ferguson down low shot up she's gonna get the foul couldn't finish it let's see who they call it on may have been on Rubio here's another look yeah here's a good look at it coming in from the backside well it's gonna be they got 14 15 15 Ayanna V Hill Ayanna V Hill second team foul or the third team foul on Pueblo
012East outcomes Breanna Smith and in comes Julia Carter rectal and Carter will back off as Ferguson will get another shot won't go rebound inside Rubio and they're gonna call quickly Abigail Gannon with her second personal foul and Gannon will come out of the game coming into the game Sophia Sotomayor comes in to replace Gannon so to Meyer with a heavily wrapped shoulder sophomore guard for the Thunder whose steal attempt by Julia Carter forces Rubio back to get the basketball of course no shot clock in the high school game so plenty of time for the Eagles work it back around B Hill shot up won't go that's an air ball but a hit out of bounds but they're gonna call it out of bounds on Harding and Thunder ball a good hustle by Harding trying to
013get to that ball just landed on the end line but a wide open shot for Anna the hill over on the far side soda Meyer cuts to the middle good job they break the press fractal though loses the ball to be hill nice work ball moving around Cox tries to get around prek ttle crazy shot and discovery Canyon comes down with it that's what we'll do with all those block shots she just altered that one got the air ball picked up the rebound Ferguson nice drop step bucket Thunder back to within one and Harding brings it back up for Pueblo East and work it around leaving finding people open Valdez hits for three on again good ball movement I played Louis they just seemed to find a lot of open shots in that time it
014was Evelyn Valdez that hits the three Carter in the corner Ferguson trying to get into the soda wire and it's stolen away by Harding Harding comes back the other way four-point lead for the Eagles open but no shot from Valdez now Rubio being hounded out front she goes and throws it up won't go rebound discovery Canyon Sammy Edwards Thunder with three players set to check in at the next whistle Edwards being trapped in the corner get it to Sotomayor down the lane blocked by Valdez Valdez good job keeping that ball alive and gets it forward of B he'll be Hill comes down and we're gonna get a foul called I believe against Sammy Edwards and we will that will be Sammy Edwards first foul of the game but what a great job by my Valdez
015down with the block shot picks it up makes a good outlet pass leads the break on the other end and for discovery Canyon they they got to take care of the ball better they have had a lot of turnovers down on the offensive and recto Ferguson and Carter come out style comes back in along with sites and Smith and Seitz gets the rebound quickly their sophomore forward get it to Breanna Smith and prep the least backs up defensively Edwards inside schnabel knocked away again but Louise did a good job on those entry passes today sure are that was Riley Harding getting the hand in there inside Harding Harding loses it no call discovery Kane comes down with it Sammy Edwards get to decide Sotomayor has the ball looks like maybe the Thunder will look to
016the last shot 20 seconds left here first quarter Breanna Smith working on the baseline takes it inside and they're gonna call a foul on the floor and that's against our Rhea Williams that will be her first nice job of getting on the baseline by Breanna Smith and drawing that foul nice move inside try to get it to Schnabel and this one's knocked out of bounds Riley Harding all these pueblos east eagles are doing a heck of a job defensively is that ball they say went off of Schnabel and it'll be Eagle basketball yeah what right off of Schnabel's foot and that's Riley Harding that's your leading scorer averaging over 20 a game who's created the last two steals now Pueblo East will take it with 13 seconds left see what they do bring it up
017Valdez with Harding on the right snipe way out on Harding they moved around Cox back up top Valdez shot won't go Shanaya ball has it throws it off of Cox and it won't really matter how they call that one as the quarter has come to an end that's the way we'll first the first one goes in the books 12 eight webelo Eastover discovery canyon will come back a second quarter action after this on 20 TV you welcome back inside Discovery Canyon high school the Thunder down 12 to 8 Brian German alongside Dave Toller and Dave we heard coach Kirkham telling the discovery Canyon team take care of the basketball absolutely they've got seven turnovers in eight minutes of play and a lot of that is a credit to this very scrappy Pueblo East team we
018starts with the basketball here as we start quarter number two Rubio up top she can hit from out there they're gonna take their time coach gratis are probably told them keep it slow we've got him right where we want them Rubio comes to the basketball gets it over to Harding Harding backing off Harding with just two points in that first quarter average is 21 [Music] vo up top Valdes and Pueblo East appears willing to just run some clock yeah that moved the ball around the perimeter they got some good outside shooters just trying to find that open that open shot here's Rubio with it and they do they've got several shooters that can hit from the outside Rubio thinking about it now Harding cuts inside against that zone the corner Valdez back to Harding Harding
019now in the paint shot up good she's tough Riley Harding well they got a good look nice job by Harding flashing into the paint and a great pass by Evelyn Valdez to set that up and Bob Lewis comes with the press again and there's another turnover make it number eight for discovery Canyon quickly back to Rubio you know that's just one starter on two starters on the court for discovery Canyon right now Rubio on the side to Harding we're gonna see a similar offense once again here from the Eagles just taking their time passing around the perimeter and trying to find that open shot oh no taking a long time and when you have the time to take because they do with a six-point lead they'll take it here's Harding down low off of discovery
020Canyon we'll stay with Pueblo East and back comes in Ashton fractal and Abigail Gaiman for Sotomayor and sites that was a good look by Riley Harding trying to hit Rubio down for a layup Rubio - Harding knocked right at us and Harding will take it down the backs I didn't need your quick hands to save my face that time we seem to be magnets over here Harding nice move gets it over to Williams now back to Harding for three won't go Breanna Smith with the rebound Weatherly still back off because they did not make the basket Smith and Gannon up top they're working the ball getting it to fractal inside and they're gonna call a foul coach Greta so I wanted a walk that's gonna be on Ileana Cox I believe was that on Harding
021that was a hard II party her first her first inside nice move snipe over the caller with the walk before she scored Kristina Schnabel and the frustrations continue for the Thunder let's get a look at it here right on the inbounds playing well I just maybe drug that pivot foot I don't know that looked like a pretty good move by Schnabel I'm gonna agree with you David Harding over to Valdez so they work that ball around Williams and Rubio discovery cane gonna sit back in that zone plenty of time in the game of course nivel came out that time on Harding and they're gonna get foul there on Sammy Edwards that's gonna be her second foul DCCC just trying to come out and put some pressure on them and if they don't Easter just gonna
022keep passing that ball around the perimeter and looking for that open shot so they've got to get out and try to do something that time it was Edwards picking up her second Harding again this time from three won't go rebound pretzel [Music] gets it to Smith and I'll move forward Edwards inside prek toll drop step up won't go rebound Schnabel on the other side good job on the offensive glass daibo puts it down its knocked out of bounds by east and the Thunder will keep the ball well and you can see what the thunders trying to do they're just gonna work it inside and do it quickly they got it into practical she missed on the other side they had schnabel for the rebound there's Nile moving on rubio takes it up tried to get
023it to practical practical does come down with it and I got a fall a reach-in foul on Cox that'll be her first foul the sixth team foul against Provo Eastern and they've been pretty successful with their hands getting in that time she went with the wrong hand she went with the left hand and got her with the body she goes in with the right hand she gets a clean steal rectal back to Smith down low she'll put it up can't get it rectal comes in and grabs it and puts it on Ashtyn practice well bringing the ball in making the pass going right to the bucket she cleans up the rebound and puts it back in prep till now has six points coach Steve Gravatar takes a timeout he wants a short timeout we'll keep
024it right here Heath Kirkham and company Heath you see him scratching his head there talking to his his Thunder he's right once they've started taking care of the basketball but now they've got to worry about getting some baskets while they really do and you could see early in this in this quarter just trying to pound it down load they've got a huge size advantage fretful at 6'5 Schnabel is 510 the biggest player on this Pueblo east team is 5 9 they've got to utilize that but in making that entry pass you got to make sure you make a good pass and they're there making that pass in but Pueblo ista is a good look at him right there they're scrappy defensively they've got quick hands and they have forced a lot of turnovers in this
025game tonight yeah you saw Steve gratis are in there look we're on television that was crazy Brian German alongside Dave Toller for this one Bravo East with a four-point lead now and coach gratis are probably just telling them keep keep going keep taking as much time as possible before you get a good look absolutely and I offensively be patient they're getting some good looks the last two three-pointers that their leading scorer Riley Hardy took they were wide open looks they just didn't fall Rubio as discovery came in the peers willing to push that zone out a little bit further now the wings will come up with the players on the side Williams nice ball movement by Pueblo East but the bout is up top now inside Williams back to Rubio shot up won't go rectal
026grabs that rebound yes that was a good-looking play though they got it inside to a smaller player she was not gonna shoot uncorrect oh but Rubio flashed into an open spot and got a good luck discovery Kane working it around coach Kirkham yells reverse they get it inside prec toll Ashton I belong inside up and I got a call Ashton fractal for an offensive foul she doesn't get called for a whole lot of fouls but we'll take a look at this one right here yeah just turned right in and has a nice job I played Louis getting good position down low a smaller player but playing with her feet gets in front and quick dole picks up her first foul of the game back the other way comes puebla east harding and rubio up top
027along with valdés they've got a set offense they got good movement down low and they just passed the ball around the perimeter here's Rubio with it once again this is a pueblo east team then there are three games they've scored over 50 points in every game they averaged about 53 but they're not in any any hurry to hit that number tonight why would you be yeah the height advantage that discovery Canyon enjoys in this game just take your time find a good shot Rubio inside and Cheney a call for a walk and she's slitter pivot foot trying to come to a stop there yeah made a good play on the baseline she got in but again that's a play that Preta will will create that turnover here she comes there's Rubio stops takes the extra
028step and gets called for traveling discovery Canyon we're working against the press again nice press break yeah ball thrown away by Ganon another turnover for the Thunder yeah it's their second in this quarter ninth of the game and again that that press from Pueblo East is causing them all kind of problems they're getting over half court just fine once they get into the offense they're making just too quick of a pass and they're turning the ball over once they break that press they need to settle in and work that inside game a little bit more Sidney Mahon into the game now for the Thunder he's on the wing against that pub Louie steam good stuff up top from juliek Carter but Fred Lewis comes up with a basketball or two got it from Cox we
029couldn't keep it away from Valdez and that's what you've got to do up there to force quit lluís to do something and here comes Carter again putting a little pressure up high Rubio and Valdez playing catch they are gonna make you Lee Carter work up top they'll move it around the Cox and bring it back out good good discipline by Pueblo East working that basketball around there they don't really need to shoot they've got a four point lead right exactly inside Harding there's a steal good job good hands by Breanna Smith knocking that one down and back comes Julia Carter may on up top looking in fractal trying to get open inside kristy schnabel for three won't go Brandon Smith battling for the rebound I'm gonna call it off of her and it'll be fun
030Louise ball well a great work for Pueblo East by Briana Cruz who was guarding pret well there's a good shot of her right there correcto came all the way out to the high post Cruz was all over maybe a little too physical at times but doing some good work up against the big center for the Thunder Bradley Harding brings it across the time line to Valdez there's Williams Rubio cut through the middle Christina Schnabel is shadowing her so we may have a box in one going on here day that's what it looks like gentle is with with Rubio well they're almost in a man right now and Breanna Smith is with Harding yep and Schnabel is with Rubio it does look like a man-to-man it comes about is that is up top to Cox I'm
031switching a little bit to man just to try to force him to to play and get something going but again Club Louis boy good ball movement what a move by Arya Williams and they get the bucket and they got the matchup Arya Williams about five foot five pulled pretzel all the way out she had the bigger player outside puts it on the floor and gets to the bucket snipe rectal puts it on the ground puts it up can't get it to go Smith was there trying to get the rebound the was off of Cox and he'll stay Thunderball couple of substitutions for the Thunder Laura Ferguson comes into the game along with Sammy Edwards Schnabel and Smith will come out 1610 very low-scoring first half here and the official talking to Cox right now who's
032been as you said like all over practice they're gonna throw it in high to practice show grab it shot from there won't go Ferguson can't get the rebound Hardin camp and here comes Pueblo East and I would really not be surprised coach Kratz are says hey one shot absolutely Williams but discovery Canyon now in a man-to-man Harding up top being hounded by Edwards the corner des I'll get it to Rubio up top on Ferguson Rubio is gonna stop outside the three get fouled and the official says two shots and that foul is against Cora Ferguson her first so two shots for Rubio she will go to the line this makes it really tough discovery Canyon they have to try to force Pueblo East to do something they go to the man to the man man
033to man defense but it pulls their size away from the basket it allows the Eagles to get into the paint Rubio misses the first one not happy with herself a Natasha the senior forward for this Eagle team got it I heard coach gratis are say make him dribble it up the floor but low east makes prep will dribble she puts it up oh-ho-ho Ashton fractal I thought she was gonna come down with that one but that's the way we finished the first half discovery Canyon down 17 to 10 coach Kerr command company will trying to come up with something here at halftime we'll take a break we back with more here on 20 TV you are you trying to find the perfect gift for your child this year maybe it's time to think outside the
034box and consider a gift that will last a lifetime like a world-class education give your child the gift of excellence by enrolling them in Academy district 20 d20 is one of the highest performing districts in the state and choice enrollment begins January 5th choose excellence choose d20 you we're back inside Discovery Canyon High School where the Thunder find themselves down seven - pueblo east at the half Ryan German along side Dave Toller and we had we had some entertainment here at halftime we had a young man come out of the stands and drain some shots from half-court Oh unbelievable here's a good look at him right there hit three shots from half-court right there that one spins in two of them hit nothing but net we'll get a look at one right there look at
035that shot right and he just walks off all cool like he does it all the time that's what you do right like you've been there before we'll keep it right here Pueblo East I would think Dave stunning discovery Canyon right now discovery came he's just ten points in the first half discovery can you used to holding opponents to less points not not only scoring ten themselves and then several problems discovery Canyon has had it started with taking care of the basketball they had nine turnovers in the first half alone seven of those came in the first quarter they're doing a good job of breaking that press of Pueblo East but once they get it in across half court they've got a lot of turnovers they've got to work the inside game better they got to
036find a way to get prec DeLand Schnabel a little bit more involved prec ttle with six points schnabel with two but four pueblos each there's a good look at their team right there great defense they're scrappy they forced a lot of turnovers they take care of the basketball in the offensive end they pass it around the perimeter look for a good shot and they've been very successful with that it'll be interesting to see what both coaches do here in the second half coach Kirkham and discovery canyon we'll see if they attack this defense from east a little bit different and we'll see if what Louisa actually goes on the attack it's on offense as well yeah we will say I think we're gonna see a lot the same from Pueblo East there's a good look
037good past and rectal Brecht oldest Schnabel Schnabel scores and that's exactly what they need if they keep that up they're gonna have a lot more points here in the second half and they've got the size advantage they've got to use it upfront Smith can't steal it from Rubio Rubio gets it down to Cox in the corner and discovery Canyon back in what looks like a boxing one again with Smith taking on Rubio Valdez comes inside fractal gets a piece of that one Schnabel with the rebound and here come the Thunder coach Kirkham likes that a lot better absolutely a little more life out of this Thunder team fractal inside up top shot up by Carter won't go rebound Harding Harding running with Rubio Rubio all the way ahead of the pack it's the easy bucket
038nineteen twelve but Louis and discovery Canyon had a good shot they just missed it as soon as they did the Eagles were off to the races it comes again and almost lost the ball get it to Schnabel goes baseline opposite fractal rebound bucket for discovery Canyon that's what you want I mean you get a good look from from Schnabel on that layup and then fractals right there to clean up the rebound and put it back you could almost tell everyone just just go in there and throw it off the glass and let ash can get it that's right Valdez to Rubio nice little weave up top by Pueblo East first time we've seen that but correct elliptic with the block Knobble Smith Smith can't get it to go no call Schnabel rebound gets it again
039puts it up this time a foul on bub Louis and the Thunder and their fans are back into this basketball and they're doing it just as we thought they would with the inside game they got the the rebound right there two chances from Schnabel inside she draws the foul then Kristina Schnabel goes to the line Shania the senior one of just three seniors on this team along with Smith and gammon excuse me Carter make it four good try not to be too quiet very quiet in here Nidal second-shot can cut it to three won't go rebound valdés but lluís comes back up the court tough defense out front from the Thunder lots to harding there's that patient offense of Pueblo East and discovery Canyon back in a man-to-man defense well I'm impressed too cuz police
040doesn't seem like worried all came out and scored outscored on five to two and the crowds into it and Publius is just taking their time still Harding down low on schnabel gets it back out top this is Williams for the shot won't go rebound prec though and almost had it stolen by Cox Kirkham reminding pretzel to keep that ball up high absolutely I'd take care of it against this this Eagle team Schnabel up top own go around the side another miss and Cox with the rebound David mentioned Webb lluís did beat discovery came in last year pretty handily they did lose some players from that team but they've they've had some success against the Thunder team yeah they beat him last year with 70 137 right here at discovery Canyon it was a game that
041BCC had 29 turnovers in so you can see a little a little bit of that pattern from last season carried over to this one early on of course Coast Gratus are was not bare last year valleys shot got it for three they get 20 to 15 now Bob Lewis back to his seven point lead again that patient offense they worked the ball around a good skip pass from one side to the other said it Valdez for her second three of the game Carter over to Gannon Gannon gets it to practical prac the will work on Cox puts it up won't go rebound Valdez good job of boxing out down low by Pueblo East to the shot came from the from the elbow right there and everywhere underneath all you saw were yellow jerseys about as
042up top being hounded by Gannon get it out and that's a turnover by club Louis and the summer could use a little bit more of that defense causing a turnover absolutely and a nice job and again they go to that man-to-man they forced Webb Louis to make a quick decision with the basketball webelo East wants to run that perimeter offense but that time good job by the Thunder to get out force that turnover Ferguson Mahon and Edwards come back into the game well the Edwards in Mahon bringing up for the Thunder it's we're now almost stolen away by Rubio shneail takes it inside loses its Cox Cox quickly ahead to Valdez put him in called for a walk but she'll go up and score 24 15 the biggest lead of the game is now 9
043for Pueblo East and again it all starts with the defense great steal look it up ahead and get an easy layup at the other end Mahon tip rectal puts it on the ground and the call is a block inside Harding can't believe it practical take it so close and earlier in this game trettel got called for an offensive foul that time it was hearty but slides in we'll take a good look at this there's Preta with you I got in a little late Harding didn't quite have the feet set prec tall draws the foul and she will go to the line shot up nice smooth touch for a 6'5 player that's just a junior in high school it's a good look at Ashton shooting 83% from the line this season just about good and discovery
044Kenyon will bring them half court press Harding to valdés the cornered B Hill and they'll work it around boy they're all over Rubio they're not gonna let Rubio or Harding shoot this ball may hand inside shot up good how good is Riley Harding getting that basket in terrific and she had two players on or just split the two defenders will get a good look at it right here goes in between the two one of them is pretzel little up and under with the layup gets it and goes to the line and that is the third foul on Sammy Edwards shut up and good for Harding but she got now today she's got seven points averaging 21 a game but a different game for this Pueblo each team just being very patient offensively but she's got
045seven to lead the team ten point lead now they get it to pretzel in the middle and I gotta call a foul on Cox it'll be like being believed her second personal foul she's been hounding fractal all night long it's good look at Natasha excuse me Breanna Cox may hum gets the ball in two schaible Kristina Schnabel maybe has the most experience on this Thunder basketball team only gets away to carry their throws it up won't go p-- rectal inside can't get it tries to get her own rebound this time it's Harding who comes down with it good work down low by Harding I mean tough to get a rebound down low with that size of the Thunder but good work by Harding to get it moved outside shot up and that's gonna get stuck
046and I'll bet you Ashton can get yeah I was Wow she read my mind couldn't even quite get it out before she went up and got it hey Jana V Hills shot was stuck up there and put Lewis will retain the basketball Shania Bella Mae Hong come out was able to knock it out of there I mean she got that easier than you were always a ladder to get up there but Lou East again taking their time very quick moving game because of this slowdown offense by blue East we had a ten-point lead a lot to wait and see if coach Kirkham goes into that man-to-man which they have done actually right now maybe a little more pressure to get them to go Valdes outside V Hill they're working on Smith who backs off well
047I'm just pulling the Thunder way outside look at the offense is starting almost up at the half court line good pressure by DCC though pass inside the won't go good pressure there by Julia Carter and she's gonna get called for a foul I believe yes it's her first personal she will but great hustle you know somebody's got to make something happen or else the Eagles are just gonna pass the ball around the perimeter and Julia Carter there's a great shot of her right there great hustle up front to me ten minutes left here in regulation and probably should be just fine not shooting the ball again with the 10-point lead get it back to Harding up top of working on Sammy Edwards Rubio against Ferguson and timeout Webb Louis could be a full timeout 27:17
048142 left in the third we'll come back after this on twenty TV you welcome back here on 20 TV Discovery Canyon finds themselves down 10 to pueblo east eagles and girls for a high school basketball brian german alongside dave Toller pueblo east has the ball 142 left third quarter and so far tonight the Eagles have been very patient offensively against this Thunder defense they have they've run about 40 seconds off before they had the timeout there's little over a minute and a half left in this quarter and it might be a last shot situation for Pueblo least down to Harding and they'll work it around very impressed with the Eagles under their first year coach grata saw Rubio maybe a shot earlier but she gets her own rebound so coach will take that comes inside
049gets it to Harding Harding download back to Rubio they're gonna call Hardy girl walk and that was because of the presence a national threat doe because Hardy wanted to go up with that shot prickle just stood up put her hands up Harding had nowhere to go with the basketball took an extra step before she made that pass Cora Ferguson comes out Kristina Schnabel is back in and the Thunder having a little bit of an issue here with the press get it to fractal in the middle and now the Carter Carter shot up won't go p-- rectal almost had the rebound it's bounded around pretzel does come up with it tries to put it up and Harding comes away with it for Pueblo East they are scrappy down low they do a good job a box
050it out fractal got that rebound was too far underneath to do anything with it Harding gets the rebound and here come the Eagles again all knocked out of bounds by the Thunder it'll stay with the Eagles 41 seconds now and Rubio will in demand the ball this Valadez up tops goes inside B Hill Thunder trying to trap some eels the Eagles moving quickly and passing that ball doing a great job moving the ball around boy they do that and BCC doing everything they can a little half-court trap you can see right there but when Webb Lou East handling it very well and now we get a foul called on the Thunder that's gonna be on schnabel it's gonna be here first and twenty seconds now for the Eagles and here's a steal good job by
051Julia Carter cutting that one off she'll go up by herself and she's fouled right in front of our videographer down there Tim territory here's a good look at it Julia Carter has played so hard in this game I love the way she plays defense that time she gets the steal comes in hard gets fouled on the play and she will go to the line foul was on Evelyn Valdez her second she gets the history it's so quiet you can hear that that's a nap on that one kidding and out comes V Hill in comes Williams for Pueblo East not a lot of substitutions for Pueblo ease they've gone with their five on the floor DCC a lot of substitutions in this game just trying to find some chemistry rebound almost an offensive rebound by Smith
052pulled down by Valdez she comes across the time line with five seconds throws it to Rubio Rubio notes no time left I need that guy from halftime Harding in the footwell East did not get a shot off so the Thunder have cut it to nine and that's the end of the third quarter we'll be back with the final quarter of play from Discovery Cammy high school after this on twenty TV [Music] you back inside discovery Canyon High School the final quarter of play and the Thunder gonna have to get busy here get back into this basketball game down nine they will have to do it quickly the I take care of the basketball and they got to get their inside game going a little more they did early in that third quarter but late in
053that third quarter it was all Pueblo East a little bit more urgency Breanna's Smith gets her own rebound gets it out the schnabel Schnabel now into the paint up can't get it to go but that's exactly the Thunder need a little more urgency on offense for spread lou easton two fouls it nothing else exactly nice job there by Schnabel she got that ball out on the wing just took it right to the bucket and got fouled on the play the third foul on Evelyn Valdez four-shot Schnabel ghosts and the thunder of credit to seven this is exactly where they were at halftime down seven see if the Thunder can make something happen they're gonna have to put pressure on this Eagle team if not they will just pass it on the perimeter there's some pressure
054and a steal good job by Carter and Gannon to force that play now Gannon on the left inside freckle puts it down up and in 27:22 it's a five-point game here come the Thunder they'll get right back into it quickly if they play defense like that and get it down low to prec Doyle nice steal by Schnabel Schnabel gets it up ahead again and gammon fires up puts it up fractal again with the rebound and a bucket for Ashton correct over there in three timeout Steve Gratus our we'll keep it right here we'll keep it right here and talk the Thunder back in this basketball game and David we knew if Louise couldn't hang on the ball for eight minutes that the Thunder would be making a run at someone absolutely I mean a quick
055six old run right here we'll get a look at it there's the entry pass trettel puts it on the floor lays it up and gets it six straight points here's one coming right at you off the glass but correct ole again the rebound puts it right back up and in so 27 24 and you've got to wonder what Steve grata SARS telling his teammate if now there's a three-point it's different when you're up ten you can take all day but with three points it's a little bit more precarious especially with seven minutes left in the game and they're still gonna have that's their game is that outside shot they they can't get a whole lot going inside with that size disadvantage so they've got to get some more open looks for DCC coach Kirkham he's
056got to be thinking where has this team been for the last three quarters because for the first 52 seconds of this fourth quarter they've looked like a terrific basketball team yeah and we heard him in the first quarter between the first and second quarter they were losing 12 date after that first quarter and he lit into him hard between the first and second quarter and then they went out and scored two points in the second quarter he's getting a little more I don't know nicer approach here in the fourth quarter and it seems to be working son doing a good job defense sometimes you gotta change it up and just figure out something that's that's work and he's been trying a ton of different combinations as well a lot of substitutions and we'll see if
057the Thunder can keep up the defense party brings it across the time line goes down to Rubio Valdez and Fred Louis and looks like Coach Gradishar said let's let's make them phallus let's just be better with the basketball Williams the Harding discovery came in way out front the clock is on but they move it around well almost a steal by Carter but Williams comes up with it again and now in Valdez Valdez down the middle over the Cox but it really looks like Louise is running at four corners offense it doesn't want to shoot and they're doing it very well they're getting a lot of pressure from DCC but they're taking care of the basketball and BCC changing up their defense they're going from the trap to a man-to-man back to trap as well but
058you can see the Eagles just moving the ball around the perimeter Williams up top to Rubio takes your time comes out with it now download of Harding Harding back to Rubio cuts nice two-person game there Cox comes away with the offensive rebound that's a big offensive rebound for the Eagles that's a huge one especially with the team that possesses the ball the way that they do they get a another full possession out of this Rubio does a good job penetrating brings it right back out and Smith is right there trying to get the ball from there no foul called the official just kept the count going then move it over to Harding and about is there's a steal by Briana Smith was right there with Rubio the whole way she takes it up and in
059counted she's got a foul and she is fired up I have a feeling she's had enough of this kind of basketball tonight y'all had a great play maybe the great steal comes in a little jump stop little head fake draws the foul prior to that though how about the play Breanna Smith made if she just went full speed add it to get the steal there's another look low head fake draws the foul on Rubio and Brandon Smith will go to the line to complete the three-point play and a little bit of enthusiasm why wouldn't you shut up and good we're tied Dave we're tied oh it was 2717 this quarter two and a half minutes ago ten Oh run by the Thunder but Lewis may be feeling it here in the thunder gym work it
060around Mariah Garcia in the game Rubio down low Harding in to Cox and there's a push and we're gonna foul I believe on Julia Carter yep yeah that's gonna be on the floor Carter was down low Preta went up for the block we get a look at here nice pass on the baseline by Riley Harding there's the push in the back from Julia Carter she picks up her second Harding gets it in to Rubio Garcia top there's another steal by the Thunder get it to Schnabel and they'll bring it across with Julia Carter in the Breanna Smith shovel pass over to Schnabel who goes in and gets fouled and the Thunder fans are loving this well they are into this game we were just saying earlier Brian how quiet it was there's a nice little
061passion Idol goes in gets fouled on the play at the other end it was Julia Carter with yet another steal she's played a great game defensively she's nine ball at the line with a chance to give the Thunder a lead beautiful touch by Kristina Schnabel everybody was just sitting in weight and Schnabel had a big smile on her face just waiting for it and it drops the shot took longer than the second quarter second shot no good rebound and it's a one-point lead for the Thunder first lead maybe the entire game nope they were up to nothing and the Thunder crowd saying double they're trying to double people out front put a trap on Garcia gets the ball back from Harding shoves it back to Cox Cox has doubled in the corner back to Garcia
062Shelton he'll bring it up top almost loses it picks it up and gets it to Rubio and they're calling on the foul on the for Cora Ferguson good call for her second foul but totally different when you put some pressure on this police t different game and you know you love the way the thunders playing defense and not letting pleb Louis just pass the ball around for 30 seconds every possession Garcia now trapped on another steal smile picks it up and gets it to Carter and here we come the Thunder trying to build their lead now four minutes left here in the fourth quarter it's a fractal up top looks inside takes the shot won't go rebound Rubio gets it to Harding nothing doing there against prec though top [Music] Harding nice pass Cox inside
063and Publix has the lead back 29:28 boy what a great look finds the open shot and gets an easy layup for pedal East now Carter up to schnabel shneail against Garcia should have an easy one takes it in gets fouled pushed as she went in and Kristina's probably thinking I can make both of these this time absolutely well you love the way Kristina Schnabel is playing it goes in with the left hand that time but every time she's had the ball she goes right to the bucket she's been to the line a lot this fourth quarter we'll keep it quiet should I believe the line feeling good Granny Smith give you a dirty look there Davy were talking Andrew and Christina was trying to shoot rectal comes out sights came in Breanna Smith will come
064in for the shooter if Schnabel's able to make it won't go rebound Rubio tied at 29 his gym certainly came alive when the Thunder did that's for sure Riley hearted down low against sights puts it up I'm going to call a foul on sites McKenzie sights her first a nice job by Harding to get into the bucket there was a good look at it puts it on the floor with the right hand gets down low and draws the foul and we haven't seen much of that out of Pueblo East they've had the lead they've been very patient offensively here in a tie game Riley Riley Harding takes the ball right to the bucket shot off though for Harding second shot will go sights good job getting that rebound for the Thunder on a lot of
065missed free throws on both sides navels missed a couple for DCC and then right there Riley Harding missing two free throws in a tie game with about three minutes left I know she wants those back they're getting a foul called inside on that is rubio natasha rubio her first foul and it'll be Mackenzie sights the sophomore forward at the line just averages one point a game but if she can make to hear she can double her output and give her team a leap won't go rebound Smith he just came in the basketball game Breanna Smith has really taken over sites gets it back again goes up and she'll have another chance at the free-throw line Mackenzie sights and Breanna Smith just battling on the board and that's just will is what that is it's a
066missed free throw but car rego or Smith goes in gets the rebound Birds won't go sites follows it up great hustle by these Thunder players sites another free throw up and no this time she'll get two shots coach Keith Kirkham trying to show the form she should use thought she was gonna get the bounce on that one it went straight up in the air nearly came back down mini up won't go rebound Harding Kylie Harding in Pueblo East bringing it back up get it to Williams Williams breasts again good pressure defense by the funder Rubio now with it they'll try and trap her tries to break it and we've got a jump ball tailing the ball called that ball will stay with Pueblo East and that's a good thing you want to do with two
067minutes and 44 seconds left is the next time he'll ball goes to the Thunder coach coach Kirkland wants a timeout it'll be a full fractal Schnabel and Gannon we'll check back in we'll be back with the exciting conclusion of this 129 all from Discovery Canyon after this on 20 TV you to 44 left fourth-quarter what was a 2717 game to start that quarter is now 29 all and pueblos east has the basketball Harding to inbound it gets it to Rubio rubio up top wonder what Coach Gratus are told his troops here Rubio breaks the double-team gets it out on the side back to Rubio stolen again Julia Carter and that Thunder defense have been doing a great job here in the second half Edwards now Carter takes his shot no won't go rebound and rectal
068try to tie up Harding underneath a belief skinny a call for a foul what's so close on that shot Carter's played great defense got that last deal she was about three feet behind that three-point line when she took that shot and it nearly went in then a foul at the other end good hustle down low and Harding gets hit on the head the foul is gonna go against a shrimp rectal her second of this game Harding goes to the line well in the senior Riley Harding missed two in a row their last time at the stripe got a feeling she doesn't do that that often but she misses the third right here fractal with the rebound up almost stolen away from Gannon the gamin brings it up Julia Carter as we come down into the
069final two minutes of this fourth quarter in two Ashton correct I'll show go baseline can't get it to go Schnabel right there will go look at Brickell with that rebound she was leaning over the top of Cox to get that rebound and they're gonna call it against Rihanna her third yeah she was moving her feet right underneath and you see Schnabel with that rebound she can't get it to go and just back and right underneath cost just backing right into pret go gets called for the foul and Freck doe will go to the line Ashton prick though you mentioned an 83% free-throw shooter you've been asking for someone to make a free throw she just did it there she is 3 for 3 from the line in this one and both of these coaches have
070to be saying if either one of us could make some free-throws we'd have a we'd have a pretty good lead in this one we'll see if prick dole can go four for four from the line for this one coach gratis are told the official he wanted a timeout if she made it she didn't make it 32:29 split by valdez she goes inside gets it back to Cox and they'll move it back around here comes Harding in the paint up and in little bit closer than the free throw she gets that two pointers ago and it's at one point well Louie sleep coach grata saw urging his team on that press go to the cross half court this is Carter gets it inside pretzel shot up and good Ashton tectal has given the Thunder elite again
071that's a great catch by pretzel in traffic to got it over the left hand and lays it in should be 33 there 30 excuse me 32 31 Valdez inside almost lost it gets into waves it goes off her and out of bounds the Thunder fans are loving it they got a one-point lead and the ball with 1:15 left and again that's the pressure this Thunder team has had this entire fourth quarter they've they've forced a lot of turnovers they get possession of the ball move it to the middle fractal has it she'll go up with it and in Ashton pretzel taken over now that's what they need they got the pressure that one in with defense and in the layout book for pretzel 34 31 fractal with a bevy of points this evening we're gonna
072get a foul called up front against Abigail Gann and her third what sprek till up to now gave 19 points 10 rebounds right about her average maybe a little bit more and that's that's what this Thunder team needed but it all starts on defense they're creating turnovers at one end there hitting prickled down at the other end Brianna Cox at the line didn't cut it to one got the first one she made to earlier in this game she's three for three all right looking at your chicken scratch good luck figuring that out second shot up is good for four for 34 33 East again with the press they break it get it to Gannon Gannon out races Rubio for it and they're gonna call Rubio on the floor before Gannon went up with it and
073it's gonna be a one in one again and Ganon's gonna be put on the line well how about Abigail Gannon we'll get a look at it right here she just stays with that she was tripped on the play she was pushed on the play the senior stays with it gains control draws the foul and she goes to the line her first time at the line tonight Natasha Rubio's fourth foul that could loom big as well as that missed by gammy again in trying to give it a two-point lead shot up won't go Hawks can't grab it Harding can 45 seconds Pueblo East with the ball down one Rubio back to Harding Harding inside against prickle and they're gonna call both officials have a call against Breanna Smith watch it again well take a look right
074here good job I hardly just take him in and prep the holding up or ground but Smith gets in gets in with the hand grabs the arm and sends Harding to the line and when she needs to make when she's 1 for 4 tonight she's missed her last the read their swing nothing good and that ties this game up thirty nine point eight seconds left Riley Hardy misses the second one fractal with the rebound tie basketball game here comes Breanna Smith Valdez pokes it away Cox and harden come up with it and we got a foul as the Thunder tried to tie it up and didn't get the call they're gonna call a foul against Abigail Gannon and Harding again to the line boys she's spent a lot of time at the free-throw line tonight
075gotta go again and out there with four fouls now I'll leave parting shot up and good Riley Harding what's after her now 3 for 7 from the line tonight she's got 11 points averaging 21 but just a different game we played tonight as you can see the low score second shot up and good and plug the lease for the two-point lead Thunder need a basket to break that press is pressed by Pueblo East they can get someone deep Schnabel has it across the time line no one guarding her she's gonna take it in by yourself won't go rebound Harding and they call it they say foul a couple of Thunder players reached out and grabbed a player and they're gonna give it to Ashton fretful that'll be her third foul of the evening and Harding
076again will go to the line well as a pretty good look by Christina Schnabel who had a little bit of room goes in with the left hand just couldn't get that layup to fall Harding suddenly has begun a good free throw shooter she's hit three in a row out comes Abigail cannon in comes Sammy Edwards and Harding will try and make this a two possession game she does so four-point lead for Pueblo East Webb lluís takes it 30-second timeout we'll stay right here Dave let's talk about this down for eleven point four seconds blue East took the timeout so I don't believe discovery Canyon can say where they want the basketball I think they're gonna have to go the length of the floor oh this is why I called the timeout right he could take
077it right here right and he let maybe that's what we're Steve goodness all the time out so he can't decide where he gets that basketball absolutely so make him go the full nerve 11 seconds left getting our basketball fishy and ADO's Adam Parker over there telling him I'm not correct they can take you can still move the basketball where he want me talking about it yep we took the timeout discovery Canyon thinking about this but okay that aside you still need two possessions in order to get this you go for two or three right away you got to get a quick two I think and you know your best shot you go down low Ashton pretzel she's got 19 in this game and tried to get a quick one down there maybe she can draw
078foul and and get to the line as well and then you have to hope that you know at the other end but Louise misses a free throw but early in this game early in this quarter Viggo's couldn't buy a free throw they made their last four all coming off the hands of Riley harder yeah and even if Discovery cannon had taking this time out they wouldn't have been able to move it to half-court that's just a college basketball rule I'm set straight here comes Discovery King Breanna Smith across half court time running down really quickly they get it out discovery can he needs a basket fast that shot up it good and the clock runs out and that will do it discovery Canyon Falls to Pueblo East for the second year in a row this
079one a lot closer than last year and a marvelous job with the Thunder to come back in that fourth quarter day it really was but it became a little too little too late for discovery King it took him three quarters to get going especially defensively they did so they got right back in this game but but Luiz credit family played great defense all night and they hit key free throws down the stretch okay if nothing else that gave discovery canyon a look at what they might see in the future if a team's gonna try and slow it down because of that high but good job hats off to prep Luise 38 Thor 36 for Dave Tolin and our entire 20 TV crew thanks for watching we'll see you next time on 20 TV you
