Pine Creek vs Liberty Volleyball Broadcast

[Music] Mike turns on the afterburners Eddie scores touchdown Thunder darn ol in there here a Parker goes back wrong with it and the rampart Rams take the lead [Music] good evening and welcome inside Pine Creek High School for Girls 5a high school volleyball in Colorado Springs my name's brian german alongside dave Toller and dave - district 20 teams doing battle tonight we know that whenever two district twenty teams get together it's gonna be a good one it should be a great one tonight Brian you look at these two teams Liberty comes in there three and two in the conference Pine Creek is right behind them at two and three and when these two teams get together it's always a great match we'll take a look at the tale of the tape as you mentioned a

pine creek comes in at eight and ten two and three in conference the Lancers are 11 and eight three and two and really the only difference in this is that one team beat Palmer that being Liberty and one team lost to Palmer both of those were five set matches so this is a real even match and you can see that from the numbers very competitive I mean you look all the way across the board pine creeks got a few more assists a game that they average that turns into a couple more kills per game that they average but very even across the board well it should be a good one we'll come back and have the start of this match between Pine Creek and Liberty right here on 20 TV after this you welcome back

inside Pine Creek High School both teams being announced the Pine Creek Eagles finishing up their announcements right now we can set the starting lineups for you my name's Brian German alongside Dave Toller the Pine Creek Eagles will start with Gabby Wilson Macky McDonald Chandler Nelson and a ruff faith horton and Juliet bemble with Lauren Blount playing the part of the Libero and on the lancer side it's Kennedy Garn Hart Karina Florrick Kaitlin makhmour simmer East olk Avery Smith and Jordan Valentine with Nikita Elsner as the Libero and Davey we talked about it in the open to district 20 teams we're gonna see great sportsmanship tonight but usually when two district 20 teams get together the rivalry there's it's unmistakable and usually it is a great matchup it should be a great one when these two

teams get together and they have a lot over the years now one thing with this rivalry it's been dominated by Pine Creek the Eagles have won ten of the last 11 games in this series we'll see if Liberty can end that streak tonight and we mentioned the Liberty Lancers come into this game in the 5a Metro League with a three and two mark Pine Creek is 2 and 3 and this is gonna decide it because this is the final match of the Metro League season so if Pine Creek is able to maintain that quote/unquote dominance over the last few years they will end up in the third place behind rampart and Coronado yeah of course you have those two that are well ahead of everybody else in the pack but these two teams battling for

that number 3 spot in the conference and it should be a good one too good hitters on both teams you look at Liberty Jordan Valentine their senior middle blocker has a ton of kills this season on the Pine Creek side it's another middle blocker and another senior their team captain Juliette Bendel will be calling those names a lot we certainly will as well as Gabby Wilson on the Pine Creek side and Corinna Florrick who's kind of an up-and-comer as a junior for this Liberty Lancer team and a pretty cool story here as well Kennedy Garn hard right there number 2 on your screen is going to start serving and we'll tell you a little bit about that young lady a little bit later she had substantial spine surgery during the offseason and the fact that

she's playing is is a miracle and she plays quite well at that well she certainly does I mean a bad case doli osis that was corrected over the summer and she gets us started here there's a scent right in the middle of Enel in a block right away by Liberty simmer East Oak was right there to stop Mendel right at the net here's another look boy what a great play watch doke gets it lined up gets the hands over the top the solo block for Stokes her seventeenth block of the season so darn hard serves again deep this time Pine Creek able to get it back to Vandal she'll go deep it out and it's two nothing Lancers and that's exactly what you want to do when you're in someone else's gym get a good

start well exactly at the block before may have forced that ball to be hit a little too high in the ends up going out of play darn art dessert this time is set to the back row the Lancers will show their offense for the first time and this one's a bit too long inside by Corinna Florrick and that gives Pine Creek the side out yeah to two points there bite by Kennedy Glenn Hart she rushed up and got to set on that one long serve taking my Valentine Kennedy sets it into the net Pine Creek that's going to be Point Liberty and the Lancers have jumped out to a 3 to 1 lead and right away they get that serve back and to kill Kirkus comes back comes in for the Lancers getting across the

net and Pine Creek will take the side out well I just tried for a perfect placement on that you could see where that ball was turning and trying to drop it into the short corner just couldn't couldn't get it in the ball goes over to Pine Creek Gentry Shannon and Kaitlyn CID come in for Pine Creek CID will do the survey over the net darn hard quick set outside what a hit arena floor that's a big-time hit what a great quick set and we'll get a look at it here's garden art settles underneath with the jump set and boy what a shot right there by Florrick for the point how about the back set by Garn Hart I think pine creek was looking for the outside hitter on the opposite side and garner Hart with

a quick set behind her not the easiest set in the world no it is not you know when you do that it catches the other team off-guard and certainly did with florid skill Bendel now serving for pine creek that one's long Lancers will take couple of substitutions coming in for liberty Sammy peachy comes in to replace Garn Hart and Aaron McDonald comes in to replace Avery Smith back to serve for Liberty McDonald long on the serve both teams having a little bit of an issue when you serve it it's tough to serve it hard and low enough to get right across the net and in both teams maybe a little bit too fired up I was just gonna say that Brian to come into a rivalry game a conference game like this and well I

just maybe a little bit a little bit too much blood pumping through the veins a little too quickly right now Alyssa Atkins nice serve this time Lancers can't handle it and Atkins will get the ace not five that's a great serve and again you try to get a placement looker that balls at back in the the back corner very tough to get a good pass on that serve Melissa Atkins that was a 21st save of the year or excuse me ace of the year so Atkins will go again good crowd as usual here at Pine Creek High School the Lancers being Lancers crowd being warned by the official at the net and now it's time to go Atkins again another top serve can't be handed yeah same spot that that was put in that was

McHale Curtis who's in that back row and and just a tough ball to handle she's put two there well we'll see if she goes back there for a third time that conserve she did try and go back there but a little bit long this time and so far it's a even match here at six six and a good choice by Curtis back there she had trouble with the last two that one was awful close but she let it go he's a good look at the leading kill artist for the Lancers Jordan Valentine she gets to serve across Pine Creek sets it up on the outside and not a big enough swing there by Savannah not and the Lancers will get the point just jumped a little bit too early on that didn't get the whole

hand just got the fingers on it and point goes to Liberty another serve for valentine quickly over Blount gets it there set it on inside and I believe it was tipped know they're gonna say it was out and give it to the Lancers well they sure looked like it was tipped let's get another look at it right here here comes the kill right at you it was not with my good balls a little slow to get up there and an a rough shot went out so it's eight six Lancers the bumps set on the outside not gets it over peachie sets it up on the outside coming right out is that out was it out it was off the block it was off the block good good hit off the block and another serve for

Jordyn Valentine sorry Dave I was more worried about getting the ball back once up front that was Shannon getting it over and a nice quick hit right there by Anna ruff at Pine Creek gets the point that's one of those over balls and just caught Liberty a little bit a little bit off guard with that one good good chance there by by a pine creek and the serve will come back to the Eagles and that is faith Horton with the ball Gavin Wilson also check back in for Pine Creek 9 7 Liberty fans getting on Horton and another hit out by Pine Creek the Lancers have taken and they built a three point lead here early and that is why coach Molly Stowers wants to take a timeout for Pine Creek 10 7 and I

think an important early lead for the Lancers well really is I mean they've come out playing very well and boy firt for Pine Creek they've missed some serves and they've missed a couple of attacks twice now savanna net not has been set up once she get into the net over on the left side then here on the right side hits one out so the coach here Molly stores just trying to get her team settled down a little bit probably just trying to tell them they have made a few too many errors both teams making errors of that when you get into a big rivalry situation like this sometimes you put a little a little too much pressure on yourself but maybe she's just trying to calm them down the Lancers on the other hand they'll

be happy with it Marianas Esserman excited her team up 10 7 here in set number one yeah they came over just for a brief minute they were right back out on the court and when you're up and you're playing well you just want to get it going nice serve and a good bump on the back row they'll go to the offside Gabby Wilson nice pass up front to PG that block is right there for Pine Creek boy great job on the block that erupted was part of that we'll see who else got a piece of that they had the double block said if that was rough they got that block and sent it down and Pine Creek will get the point and the sir ruff and Gabi Wilson right there Lauren blunt with the serve

liberty tough play right there peachie sends it out Lancers can't get it over without hitting the antenna and it cuts it to ten to nine that was sim Reese tolk and a tough ball to hit that ball was well out of bounds and a tough angle too to try to get it over and she hit the antenna I'll start it with the tough serve from blunt because she is again on the back row can't be handled from here McDonald having a tough time right now looks over at the coaches now being told she's alright Keita Elsner goes over picks her spirits up a little bit we'll see what they do here at 1010 one again goes back rover Elsner this time she gets the pass to peachy but double hit and it's gonna be pine

creek who's now run off four straight points and coming right out of that timeout you know that's what the coaches love Molly Stowers called her team over talked to him a little bit they responded by getting four straight points once again do that all day the Lancers got to figure something out here and we're gonna have our substitution avery smith is going to be in and take the place of Erin McDonald so now Smith well we'll see if they continue to serve in that same spot or maybe attack someone else hope they go to Smith Smith gets it beat you with the nice it's blocked it out and that'll give the Lancers a point and stop the run alright just what the Lancers needed a great pass there by Smith sets up the hit right

here goes off the block and out of bounds and good substitution right there Avery Smith comes in makes a good pass it leads to a point for Liberty and there's Kennedy guard Hart with the ball good heads-up play by Marianas Esserman to stop that nice served by Garn heart pine creek gets in system nice dig on the backside Liberty will get the place won over Smith does so Pine Creek again this time on the outside and a good kill right there that's Savannah not she got all of that one well she did and she's been struggling a little bit she missed on a couple but she does not miss on this one what goes around the block puts it straight down nice kill by the junior Savannah not there she's a good look at Savannah

she heads towards the bench Chandler Nelson now it's this one in play Valentine decides to play it nice set up front and a great job by Carina Florrick who's got me going here for liberty great job by garner getting underneath this wall watch how low she gets sets it up a kill goes down for Florrick her second of the game I've done a great job so far those quick sets that's a tough serve it's gonna be playable and played by Pine Creek and that ties this thing up 13 or sometimes you got to get a little lucky put that ball right on the tape and it was falling over a great great spot there by Curtis I know they served by Curtis blunt handles this one Nelson to Bendel they try to go outside the

look on her face she wasn't sure she got that one very well but it counts like priceless was the look look at the smile on her face I mean she knows that she didn't get all of it and you know sometimes you got a score with the basketball sometimes just go with the change-up and that's what she got right there Caitlin Syd with the surf plate on the back rope darn hard again the quick set on creak there sit plays it from the back row Barnhart has to play it up the bump set to Valentine and to free ball for Pine Creek back they come and we got a double hit get the point to the Lancers and David right now it's everything we expected it to be 1414 well I just runs back and

forth I mean we saw Liberty get about three or four and relax coming out of the timeout I ain't Creek got five in a row and now Liberty on a little run with the serve that time Shannon hits it over for Pine Creek I set inside Valentine couldn't put it away good dig on that side by Pine Creek nice block by Nicole now to vendo she gets it to go for Pine Creek 1514 the Eagles sure would like to run off some points here well as a great dig by Lauren Blount that started the whole thing and there's the set to juliet bindle she's got a hundred and eleven kills on the season right now and right on cue she will take the ball she's back with the serve Bendel one of the seniors that

was honored before this game three on the pine tree Squad it's the bump fair they'll come back row sit blaze it and it's gonna be out that's a tough place to hit I mean she's behind that that 10-foot line going for the back row kill and that was close chance some good topspin on it but just a little too far Liberty will take the serve we're all tied up at 15 right now it's too many errors on each team probably both coaches want their teams to just settle down just punched over nice play by the Lancers peachy plays it up and it's over by McDonald on the back side to Shannon the Lancers set it up he cheated far set to Valentine great play by geordan Valentine a leading killer on this team and what

a play here to go with the dink what a heads-up play by the senior she had the double block in front of her a huge opening in the middle of the court right there and she just drops it in you could tell him his players have played a lot of volleyball they know exactly how to do things look for those open spots miscommunication there between Blount in McDonald that one falls and it's gonna be Lancers by - 1715 line back and forth we go what a great match we have here Darren McDonald to serve sit across the overpass liberties there to play at peachy outside again to Valentine this time it's blocked McDonald plays it peachy to Valentine again once is there over to Shannon off the block in out 1716 Pine Creek right back

in it yep right back and forth and that ball was tipped off the block and it was tough to get that dig in the back to gauge where that ball was coming from went off the block went off to dig and point for Pine Creek Atkinson not back in Atkins to serve sends it back peachy on the outside the Valentine this one's blocked out Lancers get the point 1816 we're getting to that point in a set where one of the teams has to start to take over when you see Liberty stringing a couple of get together right now we'll see if they're the ones that can get a little something going Jorden Valentine in ace Jordan Valentine who leads this team with now 23 a sazon the season look at it again Dave boy what

a great serve look at it coming in well that's not even on the line that's well inside of the line great spot Jordan Valentine put that in and like I said Brian leading this team with 22 aces picks up 23 right there and a huge point to put the Lancers up by three coach Marianas Esserman has to like what she sees Mollie Stowers trying to get her team to make a comeback here but this this this first set has been what we've expected it's been very close but this is the precarious situation you get a three point lead in a set like this late in the set you want to take control make it four make it five fine creeks got a score soon or they'll be in trouble well they sure doing this these

are the points in these games where we find out which team knows how to win which team wants this one the most and we'll find out here soon enough Valentine to serve again deep sir Blount is there Pine Creek gets it outside to not stop by Liberty to come back a nice play by Stoke Pine Creek has to place it on the back row Valentine with the dig too peachy outside Oh makhmour makhmour tried to get that one over the sophomore for the Lancers a tough set there from peachy and makhmour couldn't get it done and she looped a long way around to get to that ball I don't know if she thought that ball wasn't coming to her but she came all the way around to get to it by the time she got

to it was a little too late faith Horton with the serve Valentine plays at peachy back to makhmour stopped by pine creek and again it is Anna ruff up front and a rough doing a great job on the block well you see the height that looked more God on it but great spot for Anna ruff gets the block and brings the serve over the Eagles Dave Horton played by Valentine peachy on the outside stole couldn't finish it Scott can't block that one and give it to ruff and just like that I said pine creek need to score some points they're back in this thing tied up and two by Anna rough one of them she comes off the block with the last one she got off the kill ties this thing up two points for

the junior middle blocker faith Horton again to serve there's Peachy the outsider a low hit that time my simmer East Oak and suddenly just like that Pine Creek they seemed to me there runs seemed to comes in forwards and five they've got four in a row right now and a little miscommunication peachy and Stoke we're talking after that last one Jordan with the serve overpass Liberty there to play it Donald backs up nice another stuff there by ruff both teams playing it at the net this time it goes over by Stoll Pine Creek on the outside Gaby Wilson good dig for a Liberty come on back they have to get it over one plays it it's time to back set the mat off the blocking out Savannah knot and Pine Creek had a two point

lead now and it's time out for liberty the marianas Esserman wants to talk to her team now as they've given up five straight points I tell you what for Pine Creek two players up front and a rough and Savannah not are giving the Lancers all kind of problems they had the double block set up it forced a little lob kill over the top to that Pine Creek was able to play they sent not up she got the great kill right here on the near side those two players given liberty a lot of problems up front yep the Lancer is gonna have to look at the way they're setting the ball and maybe see a different place it looks to me like Pine Creek is pretty much figuring out exactly where Liberty's trying to go with

that ball and being right there with a block and Pine Creek doing a great job of moving the ball around themselves right before the the kill from not that was here on the near side they set Gabby Wilson all the way across on the far side when you have that kind of ball movement you forced the defense to move around you end up getting a point out of it not just what Pine Creek did and they go up by two faith Hortons still serving for fine Creek up 21 19 they'd like to keep this run going peachie sets it to the center block and down Pine Creek once again gets the point summary still can't find any room around the block yep that was Savannah Nutt and Anna ruff and it's those two players up

front giving the Lancers problems Horton again nice serve Valentine the overpass this time it's blocked up front by peachy and that stops the run and gives the Lancers to serve back nice play by Sammy peaches she's the center but on that overpass she just turns around jumps up gets her hands in a good position gets the point into that run for Pine Creek Elsinore with the serve want has it concrete a little bit out a system here and it goes into the net off the hand of faith Horton but suddenly it's a one-point game again the Lancers would like nothing better than to get a little six point run here their own and take set1 Keita Elsner the junior sends it over [Applause] set on the outside and it good hit by Savannah not not

to put everything on that but to find the open spot go again a great spot had the double block right in front of her not goes up and just Dinks it right over the top great play 23:21 now pine creek fine creek trying to close out set one now lauren blunt serve on the back rub mcdonald handles it peachy comes way to the middle with that set that's a tough place to attack from on that back row it's out of bounds Pine Creek is one point away from set one victory when it takes your time sends it back McDonald the overpass Bendel was there the concrete gets to play it one plays it over peachie only outside that's a good kill by simmer East Oak simmer East Oak had gone to the middle so many

times in the hit this time she comes down the line and finds plenty of space there and a good kill for the Lancers to keep him alive at 24 22 a much-needed win what a perfect spot she put that in down the line kennedy Garn Hart back in to serve I serve over Pine Creek that's gonna be tough a tough one to handle on the bump set right there Mayank wreaked a little out of sorts and a nice served by Garn Hart that really wasn't it all started with that serve you could see that ball just move and and floating as it came over the net Creek stays in system Bendel gets it over nice dig for Liberty Stoke hits it over for the Lancers they'll come back outside and Pine Creek takes the first

set on the kill by Gabby Wilson they haven't gone over to Gabby Wilson a whole lot but they did right there in a key moment she hits the game-winner she's the second leading killer striker on this Pine Creek team she gives them the win in set one 25 to 22 we will come back with set number two right here on 20 TV you welcome back inside Pine Creek High School Bryan Durman alongside game polar and the Eagles have taken set number one 25 22 was the final but as we expected Dave that one was tooth and nail all the way boy it was right from the beginning Bryan and you talked about just a set of runs I mean yeah it just went back and forth the whole way and it ended up with the

last run being on the Pine Creek side they did a great job up front with with their two players and a rough Savannah not were terrific in that first set and they take that one 25:22 we look at juliet vandal and Macky McDonald up front along with Gabby Wilson Gabby Wilson ended that last set Mendel had a couple of kills and Pine Creek tries to start it off here the overpass they'll take it nice block on they were passed by Gabby Wilson gives Pine Creek the one nothing lead yeah good start there for Pine Creek not a good start for liberty as the overpass comes over and the two front row players were able to just drop that over inside nice play again this is time it's to Carina Florrick beautiful set that time set

her up for the kill it sure wasn't boy Sammy peachy got underneath that one set it up and Florrick had a good game as well that's her fourth kill in this in this match now PG will be back to serve [Applause] jump surfer beachy one takes it they'll set it on the outside block right there by Florrick and Smith Avery Smith calling for it she gets the bump set she'll send it over Pine Creek still in system on the outside Wilson and into the net against Liberty give the point to the Eagles yeah so good set in a good play right here the net near side there's a good shot at Gabby Wilson who had the the game-winner in the first game had that kill right there leads to a point for Pine Creek back

into the game for the Lancers comes Kennedy Garn heart for peachy and Kaitlyn sit back to serve for Pine Creek Valentine with the dig Kennedy outside Smith got it off the block and down get every Smith the kill and the Lancers tie it up at two and again she's smiling look at her right there she knew she didn't get all of that one but again just enough got the fingertips on it goes off the block gets the point gives the serve back to the Lancers Gel Kirkus nice serve but they let it go and it sails just Long Pine Creek gets it back and Bendel will go back to serve want us come out Gentry Shannon back in Valentine with the dig nice bike darn Hart floor it goes off the block and outs it's

three three but again a tough spot we'll get a look at it here the back set right here to the near side sneaks it inside the antenna off the double blocking point for Lancers great job on the back set by Kennedy going hard again the service error by the Lancers it's yeah a lot of times you want to point at that service error and a lot of times coaches try and point away from them but man it is tough when you have that chance to go up by two points three points and you yeah it's just tough when you just get it a little bit long and both teams now do it back to each other boy either unforced errors too I mean you work so hard to get that point you get to serve

you you know I know you're trying to get the point off of the serve and put it in a perfect spot but boy sometimes you get that thing in you can build a little bit of momentum but these two teams go back-to-back serves with errors McDonald comes back in to serve she gets that one in and it's a double hit against Pine Creek that's five four and the Lancers would like to run off some points here as a great serve by Aaron McDonald though I mean it was hard it was right over the top of the tape and just kind of dove into the far corner she's a junior for this team defensive specialist long and you wonder - with these Serbs I mean everybody when you're missing that long they're trying to be so

precise with it you don't see a whole lot of a missing short everybody's missing long just trying to drop it on that backline Horton and Wilson back in for Pine Creek Horton back to serve deep run McDonald handles it but on the overpass right there we've seen it time and time again tonight and a rough yeah and a rough just walking along that line just trying to find that spot the overpass there she is drops it into that open spot Horton again McDonald handles it peachie goes on the outside of Valentine that ones in that's what you like to see out of Jordan Valentine on the outside Jordan Valentine had four kills early in the game and she was quiet about the second half of that first set but not quiet at all right there

is that ball game right into your living room right into Dan Hinkins face that's a videographer down there 420 TV get it - Gaby Wilson on the outside McDonald handles it peachy way across and a great job that time by summary stole to put that one away it's two in a row for the Lancers yeah really is nice set there by peachy and the kill she was a couple of feet back off of the off of the net puts it down Valentine nice serve played by Horton set it up on the outside for not good dig that time by Elsner but couldn't get enough of movement on the ball to keep it in play and a good kill for Pine Creek yeah a nice play by Savannah nod I mean she just jumped up and

again just looking to find a hole and dropped it inside the line want to surf sends it over Ballentine has it peachy on the outside Stoke tried to go to that back corner picked off by Horton and back to Gabby Wilson McDonald plays it and yes into that on Pine Creek and I Lancers trying to keep a hold of a lead here in set number two after losing set number one and again just going back and forth that ball walked along the tape fell on the pine creek side and bindle wasn't able to handle it kita Elsner with the serve Orton plays it and set it on the outside of Wilson Elser can't handle it Gabby Wilson starting to catch fire for the Eagles another nice kill by Gabby Wilson her third of this of

this match there's the set go cross-court with it and just not able to handle it for the Lancers Macky McDonald and Chandler Nelson back in for Pine Creek Nelson with the sir that one's long and out Lancers take that one-point lead 9 8 it's all about trying to keep the serve get a couple points Jordan Valentine had a nice run at the end of the previous set hands it off to PG who will serve now Sammy peachy the overpass handled by Liberty outside great job by Avery Smith dug out by Pine Creek of this one is hit over an ounce Maki McDonald 10 8 Lancers and peachy and try and get a run going here for the Lancers deep serve Gaby Wilson has to play it is a pump set to Vendela endo plays it

Elsner back tough play there by then we'll try to put it home and he went out for Pine Creek and again to another one of those over balls but that time vendo a little too far back tried to sneak that in and a great shot right there it just goes just goes long and now a little run for the Lancers peachy and go outside of Wilson Wilson comes down the line with it Wow she looked like she had an opening in the middle and she went down the line still got the point it looks like she changed up her angle right there at the very end she was going to go into the block and that's hard to do up in mid air change the arm angle and instead of going into the block she

goes down the line gets the point Kaitlyn Sid now trying to cut into this 2 point Lancer lead they serve dugout by smith Garn heart nice job at Florrick that Garn heart Florrick seems to be working pretty good for the Lancers really isn't again on the quick set there goes up Florrick nobody in front of her puts it right down and blow another one coming right into your your district 20 TV cameraman Mike by room over there behind Creek having a tough time trying to deal with those quick sets by Kennedy Garn heart and there's a double hit against the Eagles and now the Lancers have a four point lead at 13 and 9 they would like nothing better than to keep moving and Mollie Stowers doesn't like it she's gonna take a timeout down

for really worked for in set number one she was down four was a little bit later but they came back and won that's that first set after whatever she told him to and whatever that was I'm sure she's gonna go right back to it now I know I would but vote for Liberty at the Cal Curtis the senior one of five seniors on this Liberty Liberty team that's gotten four in a row in and we talked about early on just trying to get those serves in get him in play neither team was able to but Curtis has put foreigner illing play Mollie Stowers a former player at the United States Air Force Academy played for the Falcons was actually a co-captain of the team her senior year in 2004 now she's teaching these young Eagles

how to fly and again the Lancer is just out of that timeout quickly they're ready to go and they want to get back quick you you want to slow it down if you're if you're on the other end of this run if you've got it going you want to go quickly and here come the Lancers Curtis with the serve mind creaking system to Bendel and it goes off Kennedy gone hard she wants that one back since it's my bad 1310 Pine Creek gets the point yeah just a quick reaction she didn't know she had her teammate Curtis right behind her reached out and tried to play that one and that ends that run but a good run by Liberty vandal with the surf Elsner gets down Kennedy gone Hart the back I call a double

hit against Garn heart she knew it and here we go back the other way and that's the way this whole match has been back and forth a little run for each side Valentine plays it darn heart back to Valentine got this one goes just long they say it was tit they yep they give it to him the Lancers get the call their coach Herman was up hollering next to me there's a look at it Valentine had the double block in front of her and gets the gets the touch and the Lancers get the point Karina Florrick to serve it over a nice dig by CID they go outside carne Hart barely gets a dig there Valentine plays it over and we're still a lot pine creek on the outside there's a hit goes down for

Gentry Shannon and the Eagles get the side out I haven't seen many opportunities for number four Gentry Shannon but well at that time again hits it makes you hit it off the tape and avoided the block it hit the net jumped over the top of the block and ends up falling good look at the junior Gentry Shannon right there Melissa Adkins with the serve Elsner gets it pump set by Garn Hart to Smith off the blocking out Lancers up three 1512 a good job there there's Avery Smith and she had the double block in front of her had a little room they'll hits it off the block goes out of play peachie comes back in along with McDonald who will serve once can't handle that one and give the ACE to McDonald Aaron McDonald came

in with 14 ACS into this game she's got a puppeteer network 1612 [Applause] I've served that time out and again trying to be so precise she just got the point in that spot the hard serve that was that was turning a little bit from right to left and the last one led to a point it's about 50/50 high-risk high-reward you go back there you get the point one time the next time you go over and it's out of play Wilson important back in they important with the Serb Dhamma maybe could have gotten away not playing that one it may have been out but it's an ace yeah this was this move an awful close yeah she knew it right away McDonald as soon as she played it she like I did not want to touch

that one Courtney serve Ellesmere plays at peachy right upfront makhmour it is in 1714 Kaitlyn makhmour the sophomore jumping out at a gym boy she was and went right off the side of the block again had two in front of her picked a good spot Valentine with the serve he over passed but more was there pine creek can't play it they'll give it to the Lancers and Liberty fighting back here in set number two back-to-back kills right there by the sophomore Kaitlyn look more and Valentine the senior it's that one nice serve at a great dig on the back side by Horton Gabby Wilson plays it short peachie goes outside a great block that time once again by Pine Creek and they're doing a great job at the blocks today yeah they really are they

had it set up right in front didn't even have to move that was not and rough look like rough got all of that one her fourth block of this game and a rough came in with 24 blocks coming into this game that was tough for balance time to play 18 16 now Pine Creek starting to make a run and this is about the time they made the run in set number one sure is and they did it with Blount serving Valentine plays it right at the net the peachy quick serving more pick more Caitlin make more didn't like the way she hit that one but you got to take the points where you can get them absolutely I mean she jumps so high but she was up there for so long just waiting for that

ball beginning there's a nice shot at Caitlin McMorris she just came out top serve there laid over by not peachy plays it up Elsner plays it over here comes Pine Creek right back the other way good inside pendel beautiful touched by Juliet Bendel the senior for Pine Creek here in her last game at home that looked like it was gonna be trouble for the Eagles and then Bendel just kind of comes in out of nowhere really couldn't do a whole lot with that but gets the hand on it just swats it into the open spot Chandler Nelson back to serve trying to get the Eagles back to even here against the Lancers Stokes sends a deep port and plays it there's the back set has to just be bumped over by Pine Creek PTU will

now set it up for flora once Pine Creek plays it over the free ball again for the Lancers this time peachy goes to the back sir yeah Hannah McDonald's there but no one else is to play that ball Pine Creek will take it and make it 1918 and again it comes off of that Pine Creek block there's a nice shot at Gabby Wilson who was up in the middle of that block and where the Eagles have done a great job on the front row tonight dig by McDonald peachy quick sets up before Elsner plays it over back outside Gabby Wilson sends it long ándale answers leave this one 2218 Gabby Wilson had some room over there too she stepped up and there was a lot of space on that back line just wasn't able to

find it Liberty gets the ball back up to Avery Smith comes back in for McDonald and peachy will be to serve serve over three cats to play it back to Wilson blocked right there by Florrick and stalk again this another walk into the net now is avery smith and that was stoked that got up there's a great look at it right there it had the double block set up pine creek with the serve Smith plays it Elsner back to Smith double hit this time and pine creek has drawn to a 20/20 time as expected we said this would be a great match between these two and the first one 25 22 in favor of Pine Creek and retired late in the second Wilson Smith gets down findell right there and Liberty scrambling we keep this

one alive Smith plays it forward back inside of endl nice block Florrick was there but pine creek still alive Smith bumps it high stole cast to play it over once the back sit on the outside the Horton good job by Valentine to dig that one out darn hard sends it to Stoke the one plays it on the back row here comes Pine Creek right back hatchet Valentine quick set Florrick and down once again fendle and pine creek right there with the block nice job by Juliet van Gogh great rally by both of these teams and Mendel gets the solo block was set up perfectly and boy what a rally between these two just back and forth and both teams you know a little out of position is they're just chasing down every ball they can

to get it set up finally Liberty get set up for the kill and bindle is there for the block to put the Eagles up one Mollie stores this is really a replay kind of a that one in Liberty was up Stowers takes a timeout and they regain the lead liberty takes a timeout so so is talking to a team right there now I still got 30 seconds left in this timeout Pine Creek gonna take their time they have regained the lead if they can win this here that could really you know put a damper on the Lancers if they could go up two sets to none they certainly could and again you see every single timeout Liberty is out quick they're ready to play fine Creek taking their time and they will get the ball

they have the serve and that will be Gabby Wilson Wilson sends it over Valentine they're darn hard in the middle to Elsner laid on the back rope once to Horton that one's out and the Lancers are tied to back up at 21 the key portion of this game we're gonna have a substitution Stoke will come out Kirkus comes in to serve and Curtis did a great job earlier in this set she went off about four straight points and you know that's what the Lancers would love to see right now gets it they get to go back side pay Portman it's played right over by us Avery Smith does a great job playing that with a fork nice dig by Pine Creek keeping it alive that come back outside to McDonald and the Lancers go way

outside the balance on watch at the net again Valentine McDonald on the outside good tick by Curtis John Hart with this the bump set that's blocked some Lancers with another chance Avery Smith great play but a good job digging it by Blount now Horton plays it what a great rally here by both teams darn hearts ends at the Valentine another hit but on the overpass Garn Hart middle of the floor across what a great rally by both for these teams Dave the Pine Creek in the end gets the point phenomenal volleyball right there what a great dig by Chandler Nelson who went at that last ball one hand diving to a right kept that ball in play and led to the point light by the Eagles but boy what great volleyball on both sides some

fun to watch we told you it was going to be Juliet the overpass by Ballentine McDonald tried to get it they'll send it to Valentine she'll keep it alive nobody is way out of system on this one Pine Creek now they'll get it going darn hard to Valentine town the line Gabby Wilson with a good dick I'll get it to Bendel she couldn't play it over 22 22 this is turning into being quite the set here set number 222 all Karina flora the junior gets it over and miscommunication there between Wilson and McDonald and the point counts give the ACE to poor Oh a great place when it's coming right at you yeah just right between the two Eagles a nice spot my Florrick and the the Lancers go up by one I think Dan

Haines can get a little scared he's no longer operating that hammer down there Marcus Rodriguez doing a good job for you the middle set to McDonald Laura can't handle it whether he tries to stay alive and we're tied at 23 now boy great hustle going back to chase that down by like McHale Curtis she went a long way to to try to keep that in play wasn't able to and we are back tied up serve goes to the Eagles Matty McDonald back there McDonald surfs it into the net boy and that is don't want right here because that not only gives a point to Liberty it gives them a chance to win with the serve 24:23 Smith and Garn Hart come out and it's gonna be McDonald trying to win this one from behind the

line Aaron McDonald [Music] serve deep orton plays it runny after the play get it to Horton at the net Elsner plays a peachy Valentine down the line nice dig by Wilson here comes Pine Creek back Blount has to play it Valentine peachie Valentine hoses it out for Liberty and you would think give me in Liberty high school right now it is loud in here Dave as the Lancers have come back to take set to the final this time 25 23 give it to the Lancers were tied up in a set of peace we will come back for a set number three right after this on twenty TV you we're back inside pine creek ice and hide in a set of peace as the Liberty Lancers came back to take September 2 25 23 after Pine

Creek once at 125 22 I got a feeling day we're gonna hear a few more scores in the 20/20 range and then maybe 1513 who knows I think we will Brian and before we went to break you were mentioning the crowd and boy right on cue there's a shot of the crowd they were going crazy as they should be boy what a what a great set that was we thought this would be a great match coming in and it has certainly held up to that so far if you happen to be tuned in and facebooking don't realize at these two high schools a couple of miles apart here in Colorado Springs Gabby Wilson with a nice play good dig by Garn Hart Lancers keep it alive Ballentine sends it over coming back to Bendel Valentine

plays it on the back row current Hart nice set floor it couldn't handle it though and it's one nothing pine creek yeah I came in a little late just tried to punch that over the top of the block and wasn't able to the serve goes over to Pine Creek Chandler Nelson with the serve deep serve Valentine plays it Avery Smith Horton has to play it Chandler to Bendel my sir nice set for four or excuse me two stole can that one to send out by the Lancers and Pine Creek takes it to nothing lead Chandler Nelson is a good look at her up quick served by darn Hart and they're gonna call underneath the net on the Lancers and quickly the Eagles have jumped out to a three to nothing lead yeah and again just

some miscommunication right there that was that was Florrick that was trying to come in or Stoke I should say coming in a little late for that kill nice serve darn heart sends it up Avery Smith gets gets it to go over Blount keeps it alive Nelson sends it over darn heart outside Smith Avery Smith off the tip and out and Lancers get their first point Avery Smith the sophomore with a nice hit on the outside a good back set right there and she just had the single block in front of her had some options chooses to go down the line with it and gets the point now comes stolen in comes the Cal Curtis for the Lancers [Applause] because a deep sir blunt chooses to play it Nelson outside Wilson she goes deep played by

Kirkus Elsner plays it Valentine not sure if that was going in or not Horton played it it'll be a point for the Lancers yeah would have been awful close but it was over everybody and you can see coming back to to play that ball that was Horton had no idea where the line was she had her back turned to the play and Valentine he gets the kill Blount on the back row Nelson outside McDonald Elster darn Hart nice set to Valentine blocked up front nelson plays it back Blount has to go and now Horton will try and play it over and again some miscommunication Horton and Bendel not sure who is going to take it and it gives the Lancers a point and they've tied it up we've seen both of these teams with a

little communication issues on both sides and that time it was Pine Creek one Nelson Bendel blocked right up front Lorcan Valentine where there Valentine couldn't play that one is Pine Creek the Eagles done a better job at those plays off of the blocks today and just kind of a scrambling play that time that's your sitter chandler Nelson they just turned around and got a got a finger on it gets it over for the point Abby Wilson with a nice serve that's bygone hard too many hits and that's gonna be pine creek taking a five to three lead now and it started with the good serve by Gabby Wilson that you know the pass was tough to to receive for Liberty and it led to that point instead of Fork again on the outside that one

did not go over the net and before hits all against the Lancers and it's 6-3 pine creek just like that back up by those three points yeah Liberty got a little disorganized on that one again time to get it back from darn heart nice play right there by Jordan Valentine recognizing a hole in the Eagle defense tenth kill of this match for Jordan Valentine and boy again not trying to go through the block just goes around it finds a little open space and gets the point back to serve Florrick another kill again Valentine but it was out it was outside the antenna let's take a look at it again we should be able to see that it was outside yeah could not tell from our angle here comes Valentine right at you yeah it sure

was yeah Abby Wilson even said about Mendel else who plays it Garn hard in the middle of the fork that Valentine inside there great job by though answers again there's the quick-set garden hearten boy when you can get that play set up it just works to perfection jordan Valentine one of the top killers in the league even in the state as well there's a good look at it right there 11 kills on the night here in McDonald with the serve Gabby Wilson on the back row they'll go outside this time - Jacqueline Cleary is in the game for Pine Creek job by Valentine the play it'll come - McDonald off the block played on the back row now peachy - Valentine blocks this time Elsner keeps it alive but the Lancers can't keep it going

and Pine Creek still with that three point lead now at 8 to 5 that was Mackay McDonald and a rough in there for Pine Creek we'll get a look at it right here you'll see him slide in front they get the block in the point Sid Cerf sends it over peachie back to McMorris now to McDonald for Pine Creek Lancers keep it alive Elsner plays it on to nice job by Wilson to keep it alive and it's gonna be a double hit against Pine Creek that shows you just sometimes when you then you attack on to it gets them just a little bit off of off of their game and you know you never know what can happen in that time it forces the Eagles into two hits Jordan Valentine nice Serb Blount handles it

Nelson Eddy the Clery that one's out when it was a nice received to by Blount she came up and and didn't have to make the the dig the diving dig she got her feet moving made a nice play on it in there saying it touched in there getting that point to Pine Creek High coach Marianas Esserman can't believe it but yeah that's what they call they called a touch on the Lancers points Pine Creek Horton mr. 075it down Lancers right here Dave all night long it's like to heavyweight fall right back and forth this is a good man it really is great pass there by Valentine playing the back row to start the whole thing darn art with the set Turkish with the serve Wilson gets it to go outside McDonald blocks and out Laura couldn't keep it in that's a point for Pine Creek and then Liberty had it set up Avery Smith was over there along with Florrick and they had the block set up well it just goes out of play in a substitution here for Pine Creek coming in Jacquelyn Cleary flurry back in Gabby Wilson will keep the serve 13:11 Valentine plays it Elsner back to Valentine and this time it's out Jordan Ballentine Liberty going to Valentine a lot

in this match as you would expect them to the Florrick is held her own up front to this time back to Valentine quick play McDonald keeps it a lot Nelson on the over side to clear it Kennedy gone hard to Avery Smith Wow nice hit by Avery Smith the sophomore and a great play to Kennedy garden heart since Smith behind her watch the back set right here Smith comes in it's coming right at you they've been going to Valentine so much here on the near side they mix up the offense a little bit they get the single block on the other side and get point Nelson McDonald on a floor working out nice hit there by Mackie McDonald yeah it really was her third kill of this set and again the quick set goes right

around the block and Eagles get the point and go up by three seniors playing well here on senior night Lauren Blount Mac McDonald and Juliette Bendel with the sir Smith Kennedy garner tried to get into the more great job getting it over by Curtis Cleary now gets it over off the block it down Pine Creek building lead 16 to 12 when Cleary just came into this game she gets the clear and a little miscommunication again by the Lancers they did a great job of keeping it alive but Cleary with the kill Randall nice serve that's darn Hart that's Valentine that's point Liberty Lancers now that'll get you healthy right away and that's what Liberty wants to do great pass right there Garn hearts a quick one right to the middle that's Jordan Valentine here it

comes right at you again I don't know if we pay these videographers Valentine and not in Bendel and everybody hitting right at him McDonald with the serve nice job by Nelson to get it over the Lancers play MacDonald back to Valentine Jordan Valentine starting to heat up here for the Lancers that keep going there when you find something that works keep going to it boy and when Jordan Valentine when she takes those two steps she gets up cranks that arm back she's got some power Aaron McDonald there's a quick set inside the block by makhmour tough back set there by nelson mcdonald keeps it in play this time gabby wilson diving on the floor of the Lancers peachy plays it up Elsner plays it over tried to go to the back nice job by Gabby

Wilson to keep it alive get a little bit of clearing and now the Lancers trying to set it up Valentine tough cross-court play couldn't keep it in play and Pine Creek gets that lead back to three both teams just scrambling around those long runs everybody gets a little out of position and that time on the tough angle Valentine can't get it to go in pine creek with the serve Caitlin CID somebody coach wanted me to do went right after MacDonald gets the point yeah teen 14 they saw something over there the coach bawling still worse off something and was pointing to her clipboard was pointing to the other side said put in a perfect spot who gets the point Mackenzie Coker gonna come into game for the first time today she comes in for Anna

ruff cooker just a sophomore on this Pine Creek team CID goes at McDonald again peachie the back set it's knocked over by makhmour this time they'll set Coker in the middle and she gets it by the block of balance on anymore and gets a point on her first play in the game for the Eagles then you can see the depth of this pine creek team and a nice shot right there McKenzie Coker the sophomore just came into the game earlier we saw Jacqueline Cleary who just came into the game they set her right away she got a point so rotating a lot of different people in for this Eagles team as they go up by five in this third set timeout call by Marianas Esserman there's a look at the Lancers in the huddle they

don't talk much during the huddle they tend to get back out on the court whereas Mollie stores keeps her team over here talks a little bit about what's going on the Eagles now with a five-point lead here you really don't want to squander this we've seen teams do it though in both sets so far tonight teams with a decent lead at this point in the set and they've given up too many points and let the other team back in Pine Creek really wants to not do that this time if Caitlyn said server yeah Caitlyn SIDS done a great job it seems like they're they're really picking on McDonald over on that far side we'll see if Caitlyn said tries to go there once again takes a quick look at what the coach is asking for

and goes at McDonald the overpass and Coker gets her second point in their second play how about that you come right into the game two kills a good serve by Sid there's the overpass it there's McKenzie Coker getting the point sit again McDonald this time he plays it Valentine off the block pine creek keeps it alive and it's going to be a Lancer ball two hits and when you need a play go to Jordan Valentine there's a good look at her she has the servant you know Liberty was really struggling Sid had it rolling back there servant Valentine gets the opportunity she puts it away to stop the run she'll get to try and put some points together Nelson gets it back Valentine there peachie couldn't keep it up that's gonna be four hits on

the Lancers and it's 21 15 and Pine Creek trying to keep that pressure on boy you know they just lost that serve Sid ran off a bunch of points and Liberty stopped a Valentine got the kill but Pine Creek takes it right back faith Horton will get the sir [Applause] peachie nice job makhmour good dig on the backside by Sid gets it to Horton Valentine plays it again peachy on the outside of Stoke this time Horton can't handle it and that's a big kill for the Liberty Lancers that really isn't it's been a while since some Airy Stokes got a good look at it that time they didn't get the block set up and you could see pine creek or as Liberty I should say moving the ball around they didn't get that double block

set up real tight Stoke goes right between them nose no with the serve Sid plays it Nelson inside Coker Lancers come right back Stoke again Gaby Wilson able to collect that one they'll get it to sit on the back row attack Elsner peachy inside Florrick stepped right back at our Elsner that one's out 22:16 pine creek taking control here in set number three yeah nice job right in the middle again that was a McKenzie Coker she's coming out boy what a rotation she had she got two kills and a block in the short amount of time she was in there Gabby Wilson you just got a look at her she wasn't part of that block to Lauren Blount back to surf come back Smith handles it peachy the running set gets the stole coupe just

plays it over Nelson inside Mendel blocked and in the Lancers keep it 22 17 well in this ball is just spinning right down the tape here comes the attack there's the block spinning and just Val in in time good job by Liberty to get that point double the nice points by simmer East Oak for the Lancers and Kennedy Garn Hart goes back to serve [Music] [Applause] played by horton easy set for Bendel block right there stole kid Florrick again trying to get the Lancers back in this set they've read that one perfectly I'll just watching them the whole time here they come right in your screen set it up had the double block and they get the point darn hard against Irving tough serve Sid gets down against it Gaddy Wilson into the net Liberty

try to get there on the block and that's a point for Pine Creek of their two points away from taking set three Chandler Nelson back with the serve nice attack by Gabby Wilson on that last one Chandler Nelson off Valentine at Jordan Valentine's that's her first mistake tonight well it really is I mean she's played nearly perfect but what a great serve that wasn't a tough spot to handle that when you could see where Valentine was playing it at Nelson to Valentine again this time Jordan plays it back set for Stoke on the backside and nice set again by Kennedy Garn Hart yeah 5th kill just of this set alone for Stoke there's another look at it great set here it comes right at your Stoke putting it down Turkish with the serve out and

that gives Pine Creek the win in set number 325 219 they lost set to one set one they're up two sets to one I just like to throw numbers out there and see if people are paying attention we'll be back with set number four on 20 TV you welcome back into Pine Creek High School where the Eagles have a two sets to one lead over the Liberty Lancers Brian German alongside Dave Toller and Dave if I had to say I expect something I really expect the Liberty Lancers to come back well that's the way this this whole match is gone back and forth Pine Creek got the first one Liberty got the second one pine creek of course got the third one we'll see what what happens in this one but boy we've had a

good one here at Pine Creek tonight Chandler Nelson sends it over Smith on the outside still too high on that one there so they want the tip but they're not gonna get it I'm sure any one good hit Kareem abdul-jabbar because if that one I love the gamesmanship over there though white why not Nelson peachie inside and you got a kill for Sophie Lewis while Sophie Lewis didn't play at all in those first three sets but boy they set her up and she's got some height in front playing that middle blocker position she gets the kill peachie back to serve [Music] [Applause] Nelson Bendel off the block and into the net for liberty as I believe it was Sophie Lewis got something in her eye yeah we have a contact issue in there that we

will see Kennedy Garn Hart coming back into the game who was staying in darn hearts back in Gabby Wilson to serve deep serve Smith handles it to Garn Hart on the outside scope with the kill just enough to get that one down to get the Lancers are tied at two-two well what great placement and Kennedy was smiling after this one she knows she didn't put it exactly where she wanted but Stoke comes up gets the hand on it puts it away once Nelson on the run McDonald some miscommunication again the Eagles can't get it over the Lancers will take it 3-2 and it all starts with the serve nice nice look there at some area Stokes she got the last point out three three and back into the game Kirkus Stoke will have a seat

Blount comes out on the pine Creekside Bendel is back to serve over nice job by Sophie Lewis [Applause] the heart plays it Elsner over to smith out want the touch no touch accessor man up wanting it right away the officials shaking his head right away as well Mendel sends it over Valentine plays it and Pine Creek has jumped out to a two point lead has a good look at Juliet Bendel the team captain with the serve picks up the ace vandal this time tries to go the outside and it's out of bounds it's been like this every set err err err err err err err err hey wait it's 1919 by the way been tough there's a nice one Elzy replace that one she'll take that every time and the Lancers tied up at five

it wasn't that last set that Keita Elsner had a great run she went off about five straight points and good spot right there maybe a little lucky gets the balance but Lancers will take it it's at the Blount ELLs who plays it darn heart right in the middle Jordan Valentine there's the nice play there's Kennedy garden heart but she had some options Caitlin look more went up for that Jordan Valentine she had everybody chasing that one Valentine picks up the kill Elsner Wilson Nelson McDonald can't handle it McDonald a miscommunication there she didn't think the set was coming to the outside wasn't ready for it Lancers now the two-point lead Elsner still serving [Music] one Ann Wilson almost played that one Garn heart Elsner outside Smith good job off the block and down Avery Smith

and here come the Lancers up eight five then a nice little run here again it's Keita Elsner that gets everything going there's Avery Smith just nice little touch right off of the block there another nice serve Wilson there Nelson on the outside that was Shannon a good jig on the back rubber they're gonna call it two hits in the middle against the Lancers a nice little run there for liberty they picked up four points they end up going up by two and serve comes back to Pine Creek faith Fortin has the ball Heels known to fall far behind here Horton gets it Barnhart Valentine out close on that back line but it's out and Pine Creek gets the point yeah very close and those are two players that have played a lot together they've been

a great combination tonight and just missed on that one Horton again dig by Kirkus bump sets to Smith nice dive by Wilson on the back row Horton plays it too rough now in the middle Valentine or they run that play two times now where they've got two hitters virtually next to each other and it's Valentine with the kill every time great look and why not she's got 15 kills in this game it's tough there and a rough for Pine Creek he has to decide who's gonna get this ball she's gone forward makhmour both times both times Valentine has gotten it with a clear Lane for a kill Smith out nine eight a good decision on the back line there's a great look at faith Horton number 11 and that was a tough one it was

coming right about head high she had to duck not knowing exactly where she was but she ducks and makes a great decision and eagles get the point CID comes in for Gentry Shannon she will go back to sir nollie Stosh talking to the down official and CID will serve Smith peachy Valentine tries to go there back blunt takes it Nelson gets under it CID into the net Lancers will take it they're up ten eight they have tried that a lot tonight Pine Creek has upsetting sit coming off of the back row for that batgirl attack and it hasn't worked exactly well there's been a lot of those balls have gone right into the net Valentine serving deep serving out back-to-back possessions for liberty with a serve that's just missed out the back line CID and

Horton do a little fist bump action there is Warren Blount it's ready to serve sends it back Smith tough hit right there ballantine nice push forward and the Lancers play it over middle hit there by Nelson Bendel at the net they wanted a hit there's a dig on the back row Elsner kept it alive this one's out and the Lancers get the point what a dig by Keita Elsner and she is excited as she should be watch this great play by Elsner no excuse me it was Stoke yep Stoke Elsner had the first one stole quit the second one what a point and that one goes out Lancers up to 11 9 Horton plays it Nelson on the outside of Wilson makhmour now inside peachy stole one plays it come to Wilson again on the

outside blocked inside mine Creek keeping them alive Bendel Smith keeps it peachy on the outside of stalk this time it's down and in and Lancers have up their lead to three at 12 to 9 and timeout Mali Stowers and pine creek and if there's anyone whose timeouts have been working tonight coach doors he has had perfect timing with those at perfect timing and whatever she's saying has worked what a great kill by Stoke though on the outside the the senior getting the kill down that's her ninth kill of this match in the Lancers it was stole ku made that great diving save right there she she got the dig Elsner made the first dig and stole made a second dig and that's kept the Lancers have really gotten fired up here and they got that

point they're up three that really was and those are the kind of plays that you know they may not always show up in the box score but those are the plays that can really just energize your team and you can build off of those kaitlyn makhmour is back to serve she's got in the last two points and we'll see if Liberty can keep this going [Music] [Applause] it's a good look at Caitlyn and more the sophomore for the Lancers I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of her in the future for this Liberty ballclub she can jump out of the gym [Applause] [Music] playing extensive time at varsity and sophomore tough hit there sends it out 12 10 Pine Creek will get the serve back the old center comes in from makhmour there's again that timeout

I mean McMorris served to four points and Mollie Stoller's calls the timeout they get the benefit of that look more misses and the Eagles get the ball Maki McDonald back in for Pine Creek and there's Bendel Smith there to collect Peachy outside stole off the block though keep it alive stole kids it back Smith fits it over tough play there Blount keeps it alive to Gaby Wilson and a beautiful hit by Gabby to get that point recognizing no defense back for liberty yeah you could just sense that I mean Liberty was just scrambling around and trying to keep the ball in play and Gabby Wilson had her feet under and gets the kill Smith the overpass vandals there but she's into the net give that point to Liberty when again vandal was right there I'm

not sure she had to go in and come all the way over the top she did puts it down but she was into the net Liberty and the Lancers go up to 13 11 peachy back to serve Blount collects Nelson outside McDonald out and a point to Pine Creek as it went off the block good call by the officials and in comes Gentry Shannon again for Pine Creek peach you will have a seat as Garn Hart comes back in for liberty Gabby Wilson waits with the serve grief Smith get it over by us still nice hit bear and it's out off the block give the point - Sophie Lewis nice job by Sophie playing that one she didn't get in the first three games but she comes in here she's got a couple of kills

and makes a nice play at the net stole tough served at the back row Shannon plays it Nelson good job there again by Sophie Lewis at the net this time again it pastor though as Gentry Shannon gets the point for Pine Creek cuts it to a one-point game again well Lewis and Smith were just just jumping back and forth trying to find their spot and they just couldn't get together on that block led to the Pine Creek point and the server Elsner darn hard running to get that one Valentine couldn't get under it and we are tied at 14 and it appears that the timeout by Mollie stores has worked again well of course we're tied right that's the way this whole match is gone it's been a good one - we had Bendel -

Valentine gar Hart quick set Sophie gets the point 15:14 Lancers well the Kennedy garner hearts got such great touch on those quick sets here's a good look at it underneath it the quick set to the middle there's Sophie Lewis coming right at you and puts it down it more comes back in for Lewis Elsner with the serve and it's an ace for Keita Elsner she's done a great job serving tonight I mean she's run off a uh several runs of points for this liberty team and see if she can get another one going here back row Wilson takes it Nelson I'm gonna give her two hits on that one and the Lancers have built that lead again to three 1714 and back and forth we go Pine Creek was up we were tied at 14

and now Liberty's up three no Wilson plays it Nelson the back set to McDonald blocked comeback miscommunication there between blunts and Shannon neither of them hit the ball pine creek down for now here in set number four Lancers need to win to keep this thing alive Elton Wilson Nelson once Elsner darn hard to make more no call that Valentine inside and now again tough communication Evert Wilson hits it over for Pine Creek this time the back set to Smith good job by a breeze Smith a beautiful set by Kennedy garner terrific ball movement I mean we've been talking about that quick set to the middle and then garden heart goes back to the right side Avery Smith steps up gets the kill her eighth of this match and great job by Liberty of just moving

that ball back and forth it opened up a lane for Avery Smith and the junior got the kill darn Hart doing a great job really keeping Pine Creek seagulls guessing on that one and there's what Coach sesor Minh talking to her team about and they'll keep the same ladies on the court Garn Hart doing a good job just serving it great job to Smith going to Valentine and don't forget I soon ER or later she's gonna hit me more with a big one in the middle as well absolutely I mean great distribution as she's moving that ball back and forth and how about Keita Al's in her back here with a nice run this was fourteen fourteen when Elsner took the ball back there it's now nineteen fourteen Liberty Mali stores in Pine Creek trying

to get back in this one every time she's taking a timeout with a team down four or five they've made a move they've come back she's making the right moves she's telling them the right things let's see if the Lancers can't make it different this time and it starts with the serve let's get this one in it seems like every time coming out of a pine creek timeout Liberty seems to not be able to get the ball in play we'll see if al Zander can do so Ellsberg gets the call from sesor man this time she does get it in Nelson comes back to McDonald Oh tough play by Garner she was right in front of Curtis and she turns and apologizes and had no idea she was behind her and that's just all reaction

I mean the ball is coming to you you don't know if anybody's back there or not you stuck the arm out to play it and ends up going out of play the serve goes over to the Eagles pine creek gets the point Elsner darn Hart downtown right in the corner just paints the corner with that one but again why wouldn't you keep going to that I mean just a terrific combination again these two have played a ton of volleyball together there's the quick set coming right down the middle for jordan valentine the senior smith back to serve pine creek nelson the long set over the shannon did a good job what a play what a set by Chandler Nelson to set up Gentry Shannon that ball traveled a long way it's coming right at you

once again but Gentry Shannon just her third kill of this match great set all the way across Mike Byram and Marcus Rodriguez are getting hazard pay they're the men operating the cameras for 20 tv down down on the court Nelson in the middle good job by Coker once again she's come in and get some good relief for Juliet vandal and scoring some points but again the distribution by pine creek we just saw Nelson make the set all the way across to the outside here then that time she sets up the middle Sid Nelson Smith the overpass and Wilson gets the hit there 22:18 and look at that it was a five-point lead for the Lancers it is now cut to two unbelievable back and forth we go SIDS serve Elsner gets it PG sets up

Valentine Horton was there to come back on the backside Kirkus - peachy - Valentine to block it out give the point to the Lancers 21:18 and the Lancers now will try and fill that lead back up and again it's Jordan Valentine with the kill and she will get to serve there's a good look at the senior one of five seniors on this Lancer team Jordan Valentine's got a bunch of kills tonight would those up at some point I'll do my best math but she's got a bunch tonight she's doing a great job Curtis comes out stoked back in Dave toller's math skills they're all worried fingers and toes Sid here's the back set over not and a block by Stokely just got it back into this game Stoke and look more with the double block

here's a good look at it right there boy nice job by the Lancers to get the point Valentine now trying to build on that four-point lead get Liberty this fourth set nice job the ACE for the senior third ace of this match and puts it in a great spot and only here comes Liberty just two points away from taking this fourth set time low serve this time hits the net 2319 so Pine Creek will now try and run off some points to say back in this set it will be Lorne Blount back to sir Valentine place it up the peachy nice job but make more but she couldn't get it across nice set by peachy to makhmour not high enough to get it across the net it's a 3-point game now once it's a Smith

peachy the bumps set to store fine Creek diving but they're keeping it a lot one over Elsner peachy stole one keeps it alive outside sector Wilson that's yours Dave Toller I got it 23:21 mine Creek back in here right oh yeah not right off the plane I skill right there and ball comes right over to it seems to the great catch made on the sidelines terrific so blunt now trying to get pine creek back to even see if they can't win this thing in for peachy Stoke like recast to play it at the net Sid Wilson over teach you to Stoke whoa 23:22 four hits for a Liberty timeout Marianas Esserman as she wants to talk to her team and the Lancers had a four point lead at 23-19 Pine Creek has cut it to

one boy how quick it can go away we've seen twice on those sets and the last one on the far side with Stoke the ball just they either it's not high enough for the hit or not attacking it in the right spot but look more missed one on the near side Stoke missed one over on the far side it now the Lancers just clinging to that one-point lead all the momentum right now has shifted over to that team right there the Pine Creek Eagles and Molly still racemes to have that magic in the time now she's she's got her team she knows exactly what to say and it seems like they come out of those timeouts they're collected they're together they get their game going we'll see if Marianas Esserman will have the same magic

here for Liberty the Liberty fans have started the PA RT y Cheers a classic here at district 20 and Lauren blunt will have to serve in the noise Valentine plays it PG right there makhmour goes to the outside has to be played by Sid Wilson keeps it alive Smith now peachy the core has to go and pine creek able to get it to listen on the outside hitch to the antenna and the Lancers I'll be in one point of sporting set number five and it'll be MIT more back to Surrey well in the crowd just loving it here they're getting into this game McMorris serve off the net Wilson plays it in the middle then will couldn't handle it and the Lancers take it 25:22 the final count in set number four we will go

to set number five the captains will figure it out we'll talk tell you all about it let me come back here on 20 TV [Music] you [Music] you back inside pine creek high school Brian German alongside Dave told her we told you if you've been with us all night we've told you this was gonna be a great match it is a great match both teams have taken two sets the winds by Pine Creek 25 22 and 25 19 the wins by Liberty 25 23 and 25 22 but now in set number five as we do here in Colorado high school volleyball this won't be 2:15 if both teams get close you gotta win by two so we have to win 1513 or by two over there Smith peachie inside Sophie Lewis good play there by

Elsner to keep it alive gets it to Stoke high outside she beats one and it's one nothing Lancers and this is a a different ballgame early in the fifth set day because there's less points to score really these these early points and if you can get a three to four point lead it's really big absolutely I mean you got to get a run going early we'll see if Liberty can Sammy peachy with it PG nice serve CID plays it the overpass set back by Smith sit again plays at this time McDonald comes to Valentine peachy in the senator Lewis is blocked right there by Wilson and Bendel and Pine Creek gets their first point is set five there's a good look at it Sophie Lewis goes up there's the double block they had it set

up early bindle was on it Wilson was on it speaking of Wilson there's Gabby Wilson with it on the line and Gentry Shannon checks back in for Pine Creek Wilson gets it to Smith nice pass to gar huh get it on the outside store nice play to keep it in bounds Nelson to Bendel pushes it Elston to Smith nice dig on the backside by nelson they'll get it to mcdonald and now darn heart sets up stoke on the outside block scope how did she play that looked like she played it with her need a Nelson is Shannon nice job by Sophie Lewis negative called darn hard for being two hits on that one she's frustrated two to one I'm not sure exactly what happened over there it really looked like Stoke played that ball with

her me let's take a look at it boy what a tough spot that ball was in there's the block she did hacky Elsa lays it over Nelson to Shannon that was blocked it out and a good job by Gentry Shannon the junior for Pine Creek yeah Shannon gets the kill on that they had the double block set up but goes out of play like the lines of him there thank you cheer the ball was in Elster back to Smith nice play Wilson is there to Nelson to McDonald on the outside Jordan Valentine has to go down can't get it and the length of the Eagles have a four to one lead time out Marianas Esserman I said two to three point leads big here in set number five oh it really is I mean they

just get more magnified when you're playing a play in a shorter game like that you could see Liberty's rotation on that they had just moved a player up from the back row Jordan Valentine was back there all by herself the Eagles sense that put it in a good spot they jump ahead early in this one going again you look at the time outs and this Liberty comes right out they come over quick they're back out in in 25 seconds there's a good shot at Mollie Stowers and her Pine Creek team and they're gonna talk things over they're gonna take full advantage of this 60 second timeout yeah Liberty called it but Molly Stewart does a great job she needs to because she does a great job knowing exactly she knows this game really really well

as we mentioned you played at the Air Force Academy for four years was a starter for three of them and she knows the game and knows how to read her players shoo-in they were laughing in the huddle over there and just having fun and I think she's like to teach that part of the game as well absolutely is a lot to be said for being loose in these tight situations Smith gets it darn heart back outside Smith who plays it nice play by Avery Smith the sophomore to put that one away a terrific play the block was set up Smith shot just a just a little pass over the top into that soft spot and that's that's what that's what Liberty needed coming out of that timeout and now they're down to Stoke with the

serve one plays it Nelson the back set to them though they're gonna get it for two hits for three just like that mean it's a good time out for sesor Minh yep she called it had to just slow down the run slow down the momentum a little bit did so and they pick up two points and here's a good look at stole put the ball goes that back corner Wilson plays it McDonald gets it to Shannon Stoke back to Smith who called for block up front and Sophie Lewis can't play it John Hart went down five three Pine Creek Curtis will come back in for stole and how many times you see the planes that gets the point gets the ball that's their captain Juliet bindle Valentine to drown Hart back outside Valentine nice placement

by the senior as Jordan saw the open spot no took a tick takes a little bit off that hit and just made it look easy yeah I just just looked up found the open spot went right over the top of the block good look at the senior Jordan Valentine Elsner with the serve Wilson Nelson McDonald out we're tied at five how many times I said we're tied tonight well it's it's been a bunching and again for liberty that's Keita Al's on her back there and she's the one that got him back into gate into the fourth set and she's back there now Wilson medicine Shannon Jordan Valentine is backing up couldn't play that one and pine creek gets it six to five going back and forth we go this entire match has been like that

here's the the attack right off the fingertips of Avery Smith and Valentine just can't quite keep it alive Atkins and Savannah knock back into the game for Pine Creek as they have that one-point lead Atkins to serve serve into the net six six you know what's fun about this two-day visits to district 20 teams run Academy district 20 television nice to see both teams you know playing really well on the rivalry nice clean game absolutely I mean this is exactly what we thought we'd see tonight Smith goes back Shannon can't handle it Anna Liberty has the lead it's 7 to 6 here in set number 5 great serve by Avery Smith puts it in a nice spot we'll see if she can do that again little spin before the sir does so play by Shan

walk right there I can Nick Moore and Valentine with the block and it's 8 6 Lancers boy how about this block that's a big-time kill right off the hands of the sophomore Kaitlyn makhmour who gets the block Smith doing a good job serving so far a dive right there give Smith the ACE and the Lancers have that all-important three point lead and three straight there for Avery Smith she's got two aces and moving the ball around nicely her first ace came way at the back line on the near side that time she drops it into the soft spot right in the middle faiths Horton comes in for Gabby Wilson I would not be surprised if Molly stores calls a timeout if the Lancers are able to get another one here Gentry Shannon can't play it

but they will keep it alive Shannon nutzy Smith to peachy inside Valentine and Pine Creek still there what nice play over by not and that stops the run it makes it 9 to 7 you just see the emotion on both of these teams why both of these teams just go and add it and I thought Liberty thought they had the point great hustle by Pine Creek to chase that ball down dig it they played it over in the student section over there got it back over and they end up getting the point Kaitlyn CID to serve laid on the back row by Elsner peachy handles there I'm learning more jumped a little too early and it's nine eight well I just that miscommunication between the setter and the hitter and look more swung around the

backside peachy put the set up and set it up to nobody Sid Smith too peachy on the outside the Valentine the block is there makhmour cleans it up peachy to ballantine again this time is short get and it's a quick pass over peachy again to Valentine this one is in rain hit by Jordan Valentine watch it again holy cow why wouldn't you keep going back there that Wells been pretty good to you all night and three straight times they went to Jordan Valentine finally the third time is a charm and she buries it speaking of charming tonight who's been really charmed his Mollie stores with their timeouts she's called the timeout just now low Lancers have a 10-8 lead this would be so big for liberty because we do mentioned at the start of the

show this is for third place this is for third place rampart and Coronado are the higher ranked teams in this five Ava Division but the third place team is probably going to get a pretty good seed in the state tournament as well and this match is for that well it really is and you look at these two teams coming in Liberty has won four of the last five they got off to a little bit of a slow start this season they're playing great volleyball right now Pine Creek they've lost three in a row now they're three losses are the three very good teams rampart floor annatto as you just mentioned Bryant and Palmer in that mix so Pine Creek looking to end that three-game losing streak Liberty looking to extend theirs and you look at

the history of this series it's been dominated by Pine Creek they've won 10 of the last 11 but right here in Scent number 5 you see the Lancers up by 2 Jordan balance I'm the senior what would love to get a win over Pine Creek in her senior year she goes deep to sit they come to naught Smith plays it Elsner over to stalk stalk is in soon Reece hope with another kill for the Lancers they take a three-point lead that's kill number 12 verse Tolkien boy what a great cross-court she did she found a the spot the block was in front of her she went around the block goes cross-court to get the point point number 11 for liberty Valentine does back row Blount plays it Atkins the quick-set a good job inside of

the Lancers miscommunication right there SPG didn't know what to do and Coker gets the point for Pine Creek and it comes after Elsner made a great dig on the far side peachy just couldn't play it and back and forth we go blunt with the sir for Pine Creek to Kenzie Coco comes out and then go back in for Pine Creek Coker with a high set store plays the back line goes out and Pine Creek is cut at Oh on 1110 this was just 11 to 8 just about 10 seconds ago and seemed like it that's how quick the the momentum can change in this game want to serve Smith beachy nick moore block smith there to clean it up McMorris ends it the back row Syd is there Atkins goes to knock blocks makhmour and

it's out and we are tied at 11 and the officials want to talk about it there's a good look at it there was not with the kill the double block was set up let's take another look at this they didn't go into the net yep they're gonna give the point who the Lancers say that hit I believe was into the net and they're given that point to the Lancers let's take a look at this the Lancers hit it yeah look like the Lancers hit the ball and maybe even got the net to the two team captains will go over for an explanation but Liberty will get the point and the ball 1210 makhmour to serve Atkins back outside the Wilson hits it in and Pine Creek gets a point 12:11 and I spot by Gabby

Wilson a long set by Nelson it goes over the block and just underneath the diving arm with Jordan Valentine and it'll be Nelson to serve Chandler Nelson it's what / Elsner peachy in the middle of Sophie Lewis blocked right back at her in Pine Creek just had some big blocks tonight none bigger than that none bigger than that one right there by Juliet van Gogh and when you need a big play who are you gonna go to your senior team captain findell there's a good look at her with a huge block there Nelson to serve Valentine peachy on the outside stole into the net Lancers made a couple of unforced errors now and Pine Creek has a 1312 League timeout marianas Esserman and you know David he looked on that replay and looked to us

like maybe the officials missed that play up gate the points of the Lancers they were up 1210 hats off to Pine Creek didn't get their heads down they didn't worry about it they didn't whine about it they just played volleyball and now they've got themselves at one point near 13th why exactly because it was lug it away yeah here's another look at that play that the attack was coming from not over on the far side it looks like here's Liberty they get the block they look like they may have been in the net the ball did go out of play they said Pine Creek was into the net gave the point to Liberty but yeah Brian you're exactly right even certainly a credit to Molly Stowers in this pint Creek team to to keep their

head in the game keep their focus get the next three points to go up one Chandler Nelson Smith plays it Ichi has to go back Sophie Lewis plays it Pine Creek right back at you McDonald off the broken out and Pine Creek is one point away from winning this I unbelievable how about this long back sent by Nelson in just a little touch over the top by Maki McDonald and again on senior night that's Maki McDonald the senior that makes the play Chandler Nelson nice serve Elsner their double hit by Sophie Lewis and the Pine Creek fans stormed the court as they are going to take third place in the Colorado Springs Metro League the final 15 12 in set number five day this was everything we expected it certainly was Brian we thought this

would be a great one from the from the very beginning of his back and forth the whole way and Liberty had a lead late in this fifth set but credit pine creek for coming back in winning the set and the match Pine Creek wins it 3-2 to the final scores 20 to 25 1925 and 12 in set number five for Dave Toller I'm Brian German we hope you enjoyed watching as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you we'll see you next time on 20 TV you
