0017 o' starting our regular meeting. We are going to start with our morning roll call. Start with our school representative Quinn B >> Here is the to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, liberty and justice for all school mission and vision statement. Our vision statement is our vision is to strive for a learning environment that partners with the community to fully prepare lifelong learners to thrive in a complex world. Our mission statement is to engage with students, families, staff, and community members as we provide accessible, relevant, and meaningful education experiences. That will move on to item two, our school board appreciation. >> Our recognition for the month is the school board because it is school board appreciation. >> Thank you.
002>> Did the resolution last month and there's cookies and other stuff that's not good for you in the back? take a break or just allow people to come and go as they please. >> Please feel free to grab like [laughter] Thank you for >> uh we'll move on to the next item high school with it. >> Um so this uh past month has very been very busy for the high school. Um recently they went some winter sports coverage we have is a swim swept seaside in all events at their duel and also went to St. Helens yesterday. Uh cheer has their first competition this week for the winter season. Uh wrestling had a meet yesterday in Seaside and the boys won a tournament in Warton which caused uh our coach Walsh to shave his head
003in celebration [laughter] and boys basketball one and girls basketball loss. We have an upcoming assembly on Friday where we have a four on four basketball students for staff as long as as well as blindfolded dodgeball and uh we have final soon with our [laughter] new to me. We have final soon with our annual pancake feed uh which is free for all students with donations accepted slash encouraged. Um, for music, we uh had a district honor band recently uh just happened and uh this week the state solo ensemble uh has been ongoing. Uh the spring play has been casted as well as there's a Thursday evening fundraiser at Klutz County Fairgrounds for natural resources which is our a and fisheries department which also also focuses on women in the trades. Uh our trio program uh has
004seven new upwardbound students and we have an after a game basketball dance this Friday which uh hasn't happened in 15 to 20 years and the theme is neon outlets. >> Thank you. >> Oh yeah. [clears throat] Item four is our consent agenda. Action items to approve the consent agenda. >> I'll second. >> All those in favor. Anybody on to item five administer reports. We're in the middle of winter benchmark testing. everyone else say that. Um, and I'm excited to see how our kids do because this is our second year CK CKLA. Um, so I'm just very very curious. We've been watching them very closely and doing what they're seeing skills. So I'm very interested in seeing how that turns out. Um uh today I went and this but we were our our sped teachers collect
005lots and lots of data. It's very very difficult and today we were um finding a new way for them to collect it electronically and and quickly and easily and that their staff can also help collect it and then it would turn into a spreadsheet and then graphs and that will be easily translated into an IP. it will save them hundreds and hundreds of hours. And so we're really excited to to try that out. Um parks and rack and story and master are we're cleaning out the basement. My basement's a full mess right now. There's all kinds of storage and maintenance stuff. And um we're sharing a space with parks and wreck and they need space for an office and bridges and all kinds of things because they are serving 50 kids right now and 70
006summer and so and that's all our kids and it's been a good program for us. So can't wait to get that cleaned up. Um, and we're struggling with our top tier chronic dependence. Um, kids that are dependence. Um, at my at my level, it's more to do with parents. Um, but sadly, it's the same kids that has. So, the list that he talks about, it was the same that I had. And so those patterns are set and I'm struggling to see movement or see any advances from our efforts um in that in the most cross. Um at Louis Clark we are preparing for the date the national assessment of educational progress that's coming to us on February 3rd and that is like the nation's report card and they take a cross-section of fourth graders um
007out of our building. So working on organizing that and we just uh as we entered the after the break we did a behavior retach and I really see uh difference that it has made. I think um that our expectations are aligning across the the school and referrals are down. Um it's just a little more calm than usual at this time of year. So, I'm grateful for that. Um, let's see. Oh, um, we're also in the midst of, um, preparing for outdoor school. So, on February 3rd, again, um, we're having representatives come and speak to all of our fifth graders, fifth grade classrooms, um, so that they can ask questions and all of that. And then we have a parent night actually next week in the evening at 5:30. Wednesday night or Thursday night. >> Thursday
008night. [laughter] >> Yeah. So um and then we are working on tightening up and streamlining our um response to intervention our data team process and really using our data in um meaningful ways and um just streamlining it having it coincide better faster in the way that they're doing it as well. So that's that's what our work and our focus is on getting better at. So much like President shared, we were also doing our STAR and um reach those kinds of things. Um some exciting things that are going on. I I shared with you last time about our girls wrestling team. Well, since then to now they went to state and two of our girls. So that was super exciting. First year they were both seventh graders, but we had a fourth and a fifth place.
009Um and that was just very cool, you know, to have it go so well. Um the girls basketball started, the boys wrestling started. Um we had our first contest today. Prior to winter break, we had to cancel our band concert and our art show. So those have now been rescheduled for later in this Monday, I believe the 28th. Tomorrow night is our orchestra concert. um you know all the activities, all the things happening to switch from pre to second semester. we are getting ready to do the forecasting and any kind of schedule adjustments and typically that is not a big thing at the middle school but because of the literacy grant that we were able to get our intervention program um it is it has really caught traction like I I didn't know how quickly
010we would get it dialed in and figured out is making an impact and we're seeing a lot of things happening and we're making adjustments for second semester so that's a really positive thing something we didn't have for the kids before that we have now to carry on from Louis and Clark. Um when they are getting some intervention and support there, we can carry that forward. So that is really good. Um big challenges uh Kate referenced attendance. One of the things that we are really struggling with is I would say like our top two or 3% kids that we know where they're at. We know they're not enrolled into another program. Um, we're making home Mr. Hoppus has gone and made home visits, but we're trying to access some community partners to help us get the
011kids enrolled and we're running into a lot of dead ends. So, it's it it's just a very frustrating process that we're trying to figure out how to get students reenroll. I mean, we have our attendance issues, but getting kids that are not receiving any kind of service back into the school system. We did have one come back this week, which was very exciting. >> Sorry. So, are we losing them with the 10day >> So, quite often what happens, these aren't the 10day kids. These are kids that we're aware of. For example, I have one family that relocated to Seaside. They never enrolled into Seaside. We let Seaside know. Um so they started working. Well then they relocated back here and the only reason we knew that is um one of my teachers happens to live
012in their neighborhood and so we were like oh they're back and we sent out our family engagement team to try to get and it's just it it could be very challenging. So like this particular child has not been enrolled in the school since last March. >> Go ahead. I'm going >> at what maybe that's okay. >> At what point do we go to other measures like the courts like >> there there is no measures in the courts anymore. >> That's those are the dead ends that we're running into. and and we're trying to partner with other agencies. Um we're doing welfare checks, we're doing home visits, we're partnering with other agencies, but really what it boils down to is we can't name them. But it it it's a frustration and it is um heartbreaking. administrators
013here with Edward and meet with Department of Human Services, their child abuse and one of the discussions we're going to have about the support they can provide us around attendance when it has to do with neglect of children. We have a number of questions for that being said either the 9th of February tomorrow or the 23rd. There is no court anymore but there are other things we can use with social service agency. >> Thanks for chatting. So, I know that Quinn talked about this, but I want to highlight it a little bit more just to emphasize how well swimming is doing to the very similar like a track meet for those of you who are familiar with that to win every single competition, every single event is pretty impressive. And then yesterday when they went
014to Scapos, both boys and girls won those duels as well. So our swimming programs are performing really strongly at this time as well as our wrestling program as was alluded to. Want to highlight as the girls are coming up from the middle school that's becoming stronger and stronger. I think we have 10 female wrestlers this year. That's that's exciting to watch that program grow. I also almost to a point of being ashamed. I am so pleasantly pleased with how our cell phone initiative has rolled out. Shamed in my lack of faith in students would adapt to that. Since coming back and the executive order 259 coming into place, I only confiscated three phones during lunch, passing periods, breaks. you you don't see them really. And so I am very very pleased for how our students
015have responded. Again, many of our upper classmen are going on their way during lunch, but those who are staying on campus are adhering to those expectations for which I am very, very grateful. We continue to struggle with attendance. Our chronic absenteeism is 34%. Which is not good. We are concerned about that. One of the things when you dive deeper into it, many of those who are not attending regularly are in the 85 to 89%. We have the tool from the ESD that allows us to drill down on that. So, they're not like off the deep end pad, but still they're not attending as much as we should. One other thing that we are struggling with, and we've talked about this in the past with regards to our students who are on track to graduate. We
016want them to be on track to graduate at the end of their freshman year. One of the things that we're noticing is this last week, we have analyzed the class of 2026. It's a smaller class than that of 24 and 25. Right now, presently, there are 131 students in that class that are actively pursuing their high school diploma. Out of those 107 of them are students who were freshman with us and 101 of them, so at a rate of 95% are on track to graduate. However, we have 24 students who transfer to Atoria High School sometime in their sophomore, junior, and senior year. One of the challenges we're experiencing is many of them come to us credit deficient or skill deficient. that rate of being on track. There's 24. There are only 17 of them
017on track, which means that's a 71% on track to graduate. So, holistically, we're at 89%. And the biggest thing that we're struggling with is how can we offer supports more effectively to those students who transfer to us, credit deficient, or trying to adapt to different academic expectations. So this is really raw new data that we're trying to analyze and and probe into. We've kind of known this for a while but didn't have it quantifiably assessed. So those are some of the challenges as we wrap up the final. We only have nine days left in the semester. We do want to extend an invitation to all board members on the 27th and 28th if you so wish to flip some pancakes for our pancake feed for finals. That typically starts around 7:30 in the morning. Any
018questions for the high school? >> Um, I want to share a couple things on the high school end and then also at the incoming um on both ends of the spectrum. Cammy Thornton has been working um with local businesses to expand our community based work experience. Um currently we have students in the high school who are getting on campus work experience but this is off-campus work experience. Um specifically um students from Miss Weisman's class have been working at the Funky Bear Fitness and the Northwest Alliance thrift store. And like I said, Miss Candy is is working diligently to expand the connections that we have with the community. And um we're adding a story of bowling next next semester which is exciting. And we're also hoping to work out some logistics with Miss um Kenzig's class
019um so that we can get them some off-campus work experience as well. Um and speaking of Miss Kenzig, um she is planning a classroom field trip to Point on the 22nd of this month. It's a it's a field trip that she does not do every year, but she likes to try to do it. she missed last year. So, she's back on track this year and she said she's taken about half of her case lo and um um tours and field trips at some point are amazing. I've done that a few times and it's it's always enlightening and uh highlights a great resource we have in our community. And on the last thing going to the earlier the younger students um the Atoria transition kindergarten team will meet with ESD staff in February early February um
020to do a staffing where we'll look at all incoming um transition kindergarten students who are currently being served um and um on an IFSB which is earlier than school age IEP. Um in February we just talk about them. we get an idea of who's coming in and then we the actual meetings with parents in May. Um right now there we're expecting 15 transition kindergarten students to come in and that comparing it to last year when we had 14. So it's bigger number. [laughter] >> Thanks. So we are starting uh we were in the process of our social studies program adoption. So yesterday we hosted the help of seaside caravan after where all the approved vendors came and we invited local districts and our teachers from our district came and they were able to look at
021curriculum talk to the vendors and ask questions and then we met as a adoption community today to kind of talk about front runners and next steps. And so there's a couple of really good method that it's kind of standing out right now that people are excited to be using. So excited to move forward with that. And then um state uh testing is upon us. This month starts our alpha testing. So our English language learners begin their testing and then opens up for the high school in February and then it'll open up for everybody else in March. So we're just getting ready for testing season. And then um one of our challenges is always with instruction is always diverse um levels of learners. And so one of the things we're looking at is what's called high
022dosage tutoring. And so there's different ways to do that. Um using our new comprehensive literacy grant, we're looking at partnering with Ignite Me, which does one-on-one tutoring um remotely with some of our like A3 students who maybe could just use a little extra. Um, then I'm also working with our migrant ed department at the ESD. We're part of the consortium for migrant ed and they're looking at providing some funding for us to specifically to our students at any grade level. So I think any subjects we could do it in math or other subject areas. So we're excited to kind of look at different ways to meet the challenge of meeting of some of our Um, our participation numbers for December were exactly the same as November. So, we haven't gone down or gone up on
023that. Usually around January, we we drop a little bit back up. Um, we've had some some staffing issues, but since before CO this year, we actually have like a lot of subs and they've been really good subs, so we really haven't had an issue that much. Um, and then the USDA pre-ordering period is coming up. Um, and one of the challenges with that is we don't with the new dietary changes coming out. It's kind of like a we don't know what's going to happen if something's going to be thrown out there really quick. Um, usually it takes a couple years for the dietary changes to come. Um, but one of my concerns is that they throw something out there really quick and once the USD food ordering is done, then we're stuck with those items,
024we can't change it. So, um, just going to try to work on the menus and kind of make them to where I think that the dietary changes are going. Um, and then just kind of hope for the best. I did mention I had the chicken rice bowl yesterday. >> Yeah. And beef stro chicken stro last week. >> There was noodles in it. [laughter] >> They were very >> Yeah. Yeah. They were very good. Even they were they're whole wheat which is spaghetti. >> [laughter] >> It was good. [laughter] >> All right, we're going to move on to item B as far as the board district strategies. >> So, there was a short discussion after last meeting that I think some board members had maybe individually or I just heard one and I was standing there
025about ideas around board members getting getting out of different events like teacher conferences and things like that. I also included not just board but different because as administrators we've talked about doing the same things. Obviously we're at parent teacher conferences but there's other events throughout the community where the school district could have a presence and so I can put that part on the administrators but I put that on the agenda in case the board want to have discussion about if you wanted to set those up for board members. Thank you. That's all of ours. I remember talking about like conferences like [clears throat] >> what are some of the other things >> you know we talked about and I just talked about a couple weeks ago but like especially with public issue you're going to
026do next home school is um how to do that affair like strategic plan and information because that's right starts with registration and everything and between board members and eighth graders are back to work then so we can use them [clears throat] different times up there. So there's that one. Um I don't know other ones off the top of my head and other ones but I don't know if we've talked about other ones too. Oh, well, you and I have talked about things like um the fair, but then, you know, having more maybe of a presence in some of our celebrations like the Scandinavian Festival or the Reata Festival or we're there, >> right? And yeah, I mean, it's been really just nothing. No, Craig and I just die. There's >> I think this kind of
027initiated from like kind of wanting to like you know it's a bit of something like meet the glory and like you know get parents to know who we are and what we do you know um I do remember when we were at the conference November that it is actually um it is legally to be okay being in public as long as you're not discussing any you know like even if you we all went out for dinner for example that was not there's nothing that had to be like a public thing as long as it was just dinner like it was okay. I did look into that. So I just think it would be neat. I know Kate invited us to like litery night um to be there and I think more than you know two
028of us can show up and you know just be involved more in the community so people know us and can put a name of page and I think sometimes maybe and maybe you're worried about asking us you know you don't want to but I'm like you know you use us as traers or you know or um if you want us to um introduce you or something. I have a it's an Olympic thing. [laughter] >> Put your name. I think people need to know who you are. >> Yeah. I think >> because they don't know like it needs to sign up your board members so that they know. >> Yeah. Even if it's an assembly or something that's you know I I personally want to be more involved in my children's school. this is why we're
029here and I would love to know like you know what opportunities are coming up to be present and >> you can make fun of us at the assembly you know the plan for >> we can take it [laughter] >> I don't know I don't know >> I would like to propose that one of you will replace Mr. Hoff for the fear factor so you don't have to be >> there's a fear factor fundraiser coming up >> [laughter] >> No longer any spiders [laughter] for the children. >> Yeah. So if you guys have any ideas or anything comes up in school that you think would be a good opportunity for us to either I think including myself and hopefully for their support I think all will [clears throat] available >> um we schedule just something for
030out there for contact with parents we have an ETA and we can advertise ahead of time like it's one or two or um it's virtual >> just Um, but like I would want to promote it so the parents would know that they could I don't know how but that would just get >> I think whoever's middle or >> do you know a lot of times if like when you're scheduled out it's like the next month right >> it's always a second Tuesday >> I just think before maybe there could be something on our report or something like here's ways you know what we need or >> I'll work on it. I'll bring you something next month, >> but I don't want to give you a lot more work to do. >> Yeah, I can sign
031up. We need a sign up. [laughter] >> What I can do is I'll do the next couple [clears throat] days and send a shared document out to the administrators on events or assemblies or things like that that board members could be at. And then I'll get a list from each school along with some type of idea of whether there's specific dates or each time each month and send that to you and then go from there because you know one of the things that would be good for the board along with just getting to know you. But if you were at parent teacher conferences to have the one sheet strategic plan in front of you because the board knows that plan. I don't know if a lot of parents try to talk about so I'll put
032something else but we do plan to have a booth at the fair. Okay. Thank you. >> All right. Well, we'll move on to item C finance report. >> [clears throat] >> Um I gave you a little brief um overview of what's happening with the audit. So they postponed it for working on it due now February the second instead of it was um it was supposed to be due the end of end of December. Um I we had a business statewide business manager meeting with OD today and of course all of us asked if there was any if they heard anything about the state school fund for this year and they not heard anything or at least they're not telling people. So so still no news on what's going to happen this year. Our cash flow
033is in really good shape. Property taxes have come in really nicely this year. Um it's up from last year. The report that you have is November, but looked at December and it's fall soon. And um I had seen in the minutes that Jenna had asked about the impact of the government shutdown in our funds. Actually we did not have any um effect. If it would have gone on longer we would have but um I never realized this until during the government shutdown. OD is able to like pre um but pull the funds from the feds in like chunks of three months and so they have reserves. So, we were able to still continue to get our school lunch claims reimbursed quickly and our title. And so, um, they kept warning us that if it would
034have gone on longer, we would have, you know, started having some issues getting reimbured, but we didn't. There's other things that funds that, you know, like the audit is delayed because of the government shutdown. Um I'm supposed to complete an induct aid and hold fast also it seems to be a trickle down from the government shutdown to answer question. Are there any other questions? >> All right. >> Yeah. So for enrollment reports for the end of December, so we were down three students after we gained I think six or nine month. So I meant to today I need to get around to it just to take a quick glance after January normal report um because that building is telling a lot of kids lot of new kids after the break but I don't know how
035many we've lost. So um minus three is a minus but it's uh not bad. It could be worse. So I'll take a second or questions. Do we know? >> We do not. Okay. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Item seven is information. Item eight, unfinished business. Is there business any? Item nine is new business. A the 2026 2027 budget committee members. This is an action item. >> Yeah. So in particular all the positions except for position four are already in place. It's a position number four which is Colin Cummings who was here earlier tonight. Uh the action I intended is to reappoint him for his term and he's agreed to come back. So that's even though this is a list of all them that's the actual >> I'll move to public for the budget committee
036which are expiring 30 second in favor. Nobody is a policy drug. >> Yeah. So, I'll give a little bit of background on this. Um, I work with our attorneys when this issue comes up about a drugree workplace and had to deal with it twice this year and both sides have dealt with it. they uh our attorneys who are also connected to boarding school boards association said you need to take a look at your current policy because it was outdated. So um I the way Marissa did she was deleted the whole current policy and added whatever the OSBA or PACE requested the new policy. So that's what we had to get back in line and it'll be very helpful. There are some things in the policy that weren't helpful to me when I was dealing with
037it, but the new policy. >> Okay, we move on to item 10. Comments for the good of the order. >> Yeah, a couple things. Um, Friday the 30th. Hope that's the 30th. I don't have a calendar in front of me so I was trying to remember. We have represented uh the charity here um to do a round table discussion. We wanted [clears throat] to support the one time they could make it on a day that the teacher work. So I think I've asked um the board to provide a couple representatives for that. Um Quinn could be invited. He doesn't know that yet, [laughter] but I'd plan to go talk to him next week about that. And then we'll have some staff members there also. And I've reached out to FFA because they were in the
038initial cuts and they're going to have three or four members there that I just gave them the freedom to select the members they want for whether it's students, parents, whatever. So um I I am working I haven't started the plan for that yet, but some talking points for that. And along that line, um, Mindy talked about at a business meeting, she talked about what the impacts are on the, uh, federal funding having to impact our state school fund. And we don't know, as she said, but we are, um, working on some strategies to help with that. And one of them is there's a joint ways and means committee group that is really the budget centers for the state and all entities whether it's education, social services or anything. Um we are uh our goal is
039to create 30 postcards for each one of those 23 members and we're doing that next Tuesday at the time of that >> four o'clock and our employee groups will provide another piece of that and we all have cheat sheets for sale on postcards and post there. Um I haven't shared this with the board but even talked about outdoor school. I plan to go to outdoor school this year. three days. >> Yeah. The challenge is is that one of the nights is they >> are [laughter] >> There's no phone service, so nobody can bother me. But one of the one of the nights is a board meeting night and I don't think I'm going to come back but I am going to I contacted um school district and I might go to the district office and
040log in from there. So >> where do they have that? >> Pardon? >> Where is that? >> It's somewhere in this camp outside of >> this area. So yeah, the last thing is you had discussion about well last month they had local options, this month they had curves, we have more curves, next month we're going to have a discussion around potential for a virtual charter academy and then we have information around the budget. think um trying to get all this in before budget time because I think leading up to budget and the budget time the board is going to have to make some decisions on whether it's um around the budget uh and there's some resources there whether it's PER's local option or virtual charter academy to help support those decisions. So like next month
041we do have a presentation coming for the virtual charter academy as well as we will lay the budget out and then start working on that. And my last item is just thanking the boards board recognition app and um good to have everybody. Thank you. That's all I have. Um, I just wanted to say how much we appreciate having you all on this board and all of your hours. Thank you. Um, I would just like to say if you guys want to get out in the community a little more to come down for finals. That was probably not the funnest thing to flip pancakes, but there would be a lot of people to come through and see you guys. It isn't the music going >> probably. [laughter] >> Did you say my name? >> I heard.
042Yeah. Waiting for more. [laughter] Sorry. Um al I wanted to just uh touch on postcards for legislators what night is it? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> So, anybody listening out there can join us or maybe students um from leadership classes and things to join us as because we learned last time it's not necessarily about every nitty-gritty thing being written on the postcard. It's more about the numbers of postcards and getting that out there. So, anybody that come with us, uh, I like the board engagement ideas and, um, it's good to have my be back with that a little bit, but yeah, [laughter] officially back and, um, it's good to hear all the successes in sports and then to watch them 162. And um I one thing I noticed or I guess I'm kind of proud of
043is our outreach to the homeschool families and the homeschool friendly um sitting at the basketball game the other night. there's a whole crowd of our local homeschool families, you know, and um it just felt good, you know, like there's that camaraderie and a place for all the students in our community to be here and you know, they were participating in the sports and participate in FFA and and band and the other programs at the school. And so, um, yeah, it was just kind of exciting to see our efforts kind of play out in that way. Um, there was many there. And, um, that's all I have. [laughter] >> I didn't write it down. That's >> So, you probably know where you're like Museum. downtown and we had the um construction class come and do a
044tour earlier in the fall and um I think tomorrow there's a physics class from the college that's going to come down and do a tour but I just thought there's so many neat things there you know just looking at I'm thinking of the math classes physics classes you know beyond construction if any of the teachers or whatever wanted to come do a tour um It's just I don't know kind of neat and there's a lot of um not typical things about that building and so um just to see for instance recently um they're figuring out the concrete topping slab and I didn't know there were so many people so passionate about concrete and like just what goes into a mix of concrete and the formulation of it and how not to have cracks and I
045don't there's just all these things and I just thought, well, you know, there's a learning opportunity right there and I know um we're open to having kids come through. So, just putting that out there. I don't know. Obviously, nobody's right here with us, [laughter] but if you want to put that up, >> sorry. >> Oh, you're good. >> I'm notorious for doing that. I don't Welcome back, Andy. >> Uh, it's great to talk about girls wrestling. That's that's really really exciting. Um, and the phone high school. Um, and then, you know, one thing last week just want to say I got a little grumpy with the attendance stuff. Um, and then I was, it was great. I was able to meet with uh Mr. Jackson and Madison school next week. Uh I just want to
046say I understand that it's a really challenging thing pieces to that I don't understand or didn't understand. Uh nobody's here but I just want to tell them I appreciate all their hard work and I know that there's very little tools at their uh disposal. Uh but we had a a really good good meeting. So so [clears throat] that was great. Um and then just want to say one thing about the uh the boys I know the the girls unfortunately didn't win the boys won any uh season that you beat Casside. It's a good year automatically so that was great. Um and then you know the other thing um I was really upset to hear about Miss Clatt. She was she was my teacher one of my favorite first she I was like I don't know
047about her but she was uh she was fantastic. She she really helped me keep really middle school is very tough for me. She was a really good teacher. So >> we are having time and I should have mentioned it. Um it was very sad to hear about Miss Glad the 2 days back 29th teacher work day for secondary and early release for elementary. We were having sort of a get together tribute for her to come speak to speak. Jenna and daughter speak and myself and some other staff members involve the public. There's a lot of uh kids impacted and families impacted because she was such a great teacher. So >> um so I want to thank everyone that gifts for us. It really helps with the first presentation of um [laughter] and uh and I
048want to thank my fellow board members. You guys are all great to work with. I appreciate each and every one of you. Um I do for the board engagement. I like the idea of at least a slip when somebody said something about a signup sheet. I like that because then we know who already is being like which events are already being attended and which ones are not. So we can kind of spread ourselves out a little bit more and make it more an equal more of an equity thing. You know which which events are none of us going to and which ones are highly attended. You know I think that would be helpful. Um and then um Tyler and I attended the city council um of the month and Jenna was online and I didn't
049want to talk so I made Tyler cry. Um [laughter] but I did bring uh the certificate that was presented to us and gave to Marissa if anybody wants to see it. Um [clears throat] >> yes. And that's all for me. But yes, I will also say thank you to all the board members, >> including Queen. Um, sorry, we don't have anything for you, but [laughter] we appreciate you. Um, I will uh I don't really have much else except that I want to put a plug in our senior um grad night celebration um committee is doing a fundraiser at Fort George on January 27th and 10% of proceeds go to the AHS grad night um all day so it can be lunch or dinner. Um, and it can be to go or dine in. Um, so
050you can learn to go and they are also doing a raffle and one of the raffle items is two tickets to the dark arts festival. So which are pretty hard to come by. So any so come and support the class of it. Thank you. >> Um, I feel like everybody already said everything. Um, thank you to my fellow board members. Fun being here with you guys. And thank you for all the gifts from everybody. This is a lot. It was very nice and generous. Welcome back, Mindy. Um, I also had no worries about our children in school not using cell phones. I had faith in them and I'm very proud. Um, thank you guys for attending household me. >> I think next year you should be like reminding people that they might need to speak
051because all of us were like >> nobody nobody told me. Nobody told me I feel like this was >> Well, I know I went back and watched the Good. They walked up and hid. [laughter] >> I said I text her said, "Did you realize I'm kind of like >> the 27 28?" Correct. >> I might have to go borrow 10 minutes. Yeah. >> Thank you all. >> So that means that our future meetings are Wednesday, February 11th at 5:45, we'll do our board study session and at 7 o'clock we'll start our regular board meeting. Take a motion to adjourn. I'm making
