Yes. >> To earn new business. >> I'll second. >> All those in favor? >> Anybody opposed? >> All right. Next item on agenda is we're going to do our community >> Recognition. We will start with vice chairman's can say something and then I will say in Spanish. >> All right. Uh tonight the Atoria school board is honored to recognize a truly remarkable and diverse group of students. We are celebrating you for your consistent or significantly improved school attendance. This recognition goes beyond simply being present. It is a powerful testament to the discipline, commitment, and sustained effort required to prioritize your education every single

Your daily attendance is a direct investment in your future. By prioritizing instructional time and community connection, you ensure you capture every opportunity for growth and learning. The consistent achievers. We celebrate those who consistently demonstrate the exemplary habit of being in class every day. Your nearly perfect record demonstrates exceptional focus and resolve. This is a profound display of personal growth, resilience, and a firm resolve to succeed. Fore Whether you achieve nearperfect attendance or made measurable strides in improvement, every student recognized embodies the belief that every school day counts. That story school district

applauds you and your families for prioritizing education and setting such an inspiring example for your peers. Congratulations. We are pleased to have some of our November attendance honores in the boardroom tonight. If your name is called, please rise. All right. Would you like yourself there's other? >> Yes. So we'll start with Aster. So from Aster Elementary we have Elsie Adams. The best suggest first Bobby Burks. >> Okay. and Cassin >> and Elsie did not miss any a day in summer school either. >> Oh wow. Her brother just missed one day when he had to go to the hospital and Casanova has a special guest here and she is exceptionally proud of a you guys stay up there. Okay. Uh from Louiswis and Clark we have >> Thorian Palio Jose at Galves. Yes. And Britney Sullivan.

>> And from Estraa Middle School, we have Cameron Hano. and Raven Ho and Ethan Monroy Perez. >> And from M High School, we have Talentry, >> Alina Perez, and a mirror restaurant. >> We're gonna get we're get a big picture. Sure. Oh my god. Okay, we go. We'll do a couple three. One, two, three. Good job. Easy. Come on. >> Absolutely. You guys are welcome to leave or stay. I know. Yeah. That was >> all right. We will move on to the next item on our agenda. Uh our representative and board ahs representative. Um so for the high school right now uh fall sports are concluding. So our volleyball women went to state and they won five sets with the number one team in the state and they battled really hard. Um and for cross

country layman went to state um but did not get the result he wanted due to injury. We had a Veterans Day concert which had our choir band and orchestra performed. Um, we also have had our theater performing the play You Can't Take It With You and this has been running and has more performances this weekend. Winter sports start on November 17th and uh SAT had a test at our school last Saturday which students uh took part of and students from other schools. Um, cheer took first at their competition in Clackamus in the game day championship at Sherwood High School this last weekend. Spanish three and four went to Lucen Clark to fors and did face painting different crafts and tissue paper flowers. Uh, leadership went to Aster today for lunch. Um, Bald students arrive tomorrow

and I believe it's around 20 people. Uh, there's a choir concert on Tuesday the 18th. All sports awards are on the 20th as well as the winter parent meeting and our FFA competed in film on Monday with our beginning agriculture sales team taking a second. Uh, Atoria in the Northwest Food Science and Career Development took third and Miley took third individually. We also have a lot of our clubs up and coming that are like starting to run full circle now, such as the math club. They have a competition on Thursday and the crafts club and the chess club. That's what I got. >> Thank you, Clint. All right, we are moving on to the next item. Item four is our consent agenda. >> I'll move to approve the consent agenda. >> I'll second. >> All

those in favor? >> I. Anybody opposed? >> All right. Item five, reports. We'll start with administrator reports. Well, I'm gonna go after someone else because I just forgot because I was really excited about the event. So, I'll think about I'll be back. >> Um, we had conferences a couple weeks ago. We had about an 85% turnout of parents. Um, let's see. We um want I wanted to thank the story high school um a variety of of groups of students that have come over to help us with um well they did the dia delos maros with a couple of our classrooms and that was such a cool experience for them. The fifth graders really enjoyed that very much. No it was fourth graders I'm sorry. Um and then our uh student mentors are coming from the

high school on a continuous basis and uh helping at lunchtime just building relationships with kids and playing out there on the playground with them and all of that. That's been great. And then we've just kind of had some silly fun doing some uh secret staff spirit days and the kids just really get into it and so it makes us laugh a lot and um so we had secret agent day which was really obvious and they picked up on it right away and then anything but a cup. So we walked around um when a beverage not in a regular cup but the kids figured it out um as well. So we just had that I didn't >> um Yeah, we had the Northwest um Northwest >> Ed come and went in and choose a literacy tool

and literacy tool that was actually from the ESD literacy team and went through our classes and um watched our teaching and um gave us feedback on that and then she met with our engagement team um to make funds for uh R&D that I presented earlier. Um that that happened last week. >> We do had no request come and visit high school last week on Wednesday and Thursday. Johnette Berdette was the representative from that organization that came in and did a number of observations. main focus points were the advanced and honors courses trying to look at ways by which we can increase the number of students who are traditionally not represented in those courses. And then they also looked at our ninth grade courses in which we're striving to make sure all of our students are

on track to graduate. A lot of good feedback about those visits, about things that we're doing, but also how we can leverage some instructional practices to improve our craft. also want you to know that we continue to roll out the messaging that on January 1st, 2026, it'll be a cell phone free building from 8 to 3:15. And last week, the district was able to secure about $13,000, $4,000 at the high school, $9,000 at the middle school for initiatives that will help interaction, social engagement, those types of activities. As they won't be doing this, we want them to be doing something this way. So, we're excited about those opportunities. We sent out a survey today and Uno is still the rage. Came back a lot. So, and you can buy a lot of decks at Uno

for that. Can I ask you a question real quick while we're on administrative report before we go on and I'm going to put you on the spot because I forgot to tell you I was going to do this. Um, but you in elementary have anybody signed up for remote conferences? I think they're good. Um, not that I know of, but they do bring conferences from time to time because they bring their kids and usually >> I think we had about five and they were about >> high school. >> Not that I'm aware of. No. Would you explain the logistics of how how it's difficult to have um remote conferences for high school and middle school too? >> For sure. You know, this next spring we will have appointment conferences that we have in the past

targeting families and students that could use a concerted effort and support background services per se. During that type of model where we have a 20 minute block, we have all the instructors there. you can carry out that remote model, right? But when you have a series of families that are there, seven different teachers that they're trying to connect with to arrange for those types of remote conferences in a high school schedule or a middle school schedule would be very systemically difficult. You simply do not have the slots available to meet the demand that would be present. So that's the biggest challenge that we would have. It also seems to be when you're doing a roundroin open arena conference style, there doesn't seem to be a large interest to go in in a virtual format. This

spring, it wouldn't surprise me if we have a couple families that are like, "Yes, this would be way easier to do that wraparound meeting in a virtual format rather than in person." But and we did offer it at the middle school and high school and parents didn't take advantage of it or it was offered so I looked at Is that correct? >> We'll continue. There's some tweaks I've already met with Lyn and Linda about fall conferences. There's some tweaks we're going to make next fall based on attendance. Again, it's been like an ongoing but um there's going to be some more outreach done at the high school middle school during conference time. Um I just wanted to update everybody on um last month I shared that we had 17 prek and there has been a

little bit of adjustment with that. Um one one family decided it was better off to wait a year which um I think they put a lot of thought in on that but um we are currently at 18. We're full capacity with two people on the wait list. And we've had people on the wait list this year, but this is the first year since co we've had a weight list, which is amazing to see. And I just want to say the students fortunate enough to have been accepted into the program are getting the best program that I've seen since I've been working with it. And that's in no small part to principal bore and her willingness to incorporate this program. And it's just natural and seamless. and Estelle is doing an amazing job and her staff

are working really hard. So, I'm I couldn't be happier with the program. It just makes so much sense to have it at Aster. >> And then um the other thing I wanted to share is we are um this is our second year doing scheduled IEP meetings and I think it's going really well. Haven't had really any negative feedback. The only negative was that it didn't work and so we tried another time to make it work. But I sat down and took a couple minutes and added it up and I think we've had around 130 IP meetings so far as of today and um that doesn't include meetings after schools course like new referrals or movements but um it's it's pretty busy but we're also getting a lot done. It's pretty efficient. >> It's a lot

of meetings. It's a lot of meetings. So, we have a communications person from the Northwest Regional A visit the literacy team at Asper last week. They're going to do a little highlight of the literacy work that we've been doing in the district um in conjunction with the staff from the Northwest Regional ESD organic response intervention. Um just kind of all the work we've been doing in the progress that we're seeing. And then uh Monday we start um social studies adoption committee um where we end up doing events. Right now I have some staff members and we're going to start doing >> tomorrow night. We have new teachers. >> Oh yes we do. >> The teachers just light dinner and time to relax. >> New teachers in the district. Yeah, kind of some relationship building. >>

So, in October, we averaged approximately 1,363 meals per day, which is a lot higher than I think any month last year even. Um, our revenue per meal exceeded our cost at all the schools with the exception of the high school. again. Um, we were able to substantially decrease the food cost at the high school though by reducing waste and doing some menu adjustments. The students at Aster and Louis and Clark seem to enjoy the chili that we put on the menu. Principal Bore also enjoyed the chili. >> I really had chili in my house today was first thing that it was really good. Never had chili before. On the 24th, we'll be having our turkey meal. Um, and in December, we're planning on using the farm to school grant to purchase local Portland um, organic

jackoba noodles. Um, and then we're also going to be bringing back the TMU grilled cheese sandwiches so that we can use um the farmer school brand which is local. >> So, transportation's doing good. Um, on October 30th, we had our new driver go test in Beaverton and he passed. So, he is on the road now. And then we have a new one that started training today. And then um we did a couple adjustments on a couple of routes which I think has been helpful. I know for Lucen Park it's helped tremendously. I'm not sure on the other one that's we're still kind of playing around with it. Um we didn't have any really significant damage from the storm luckily. We had a couple branches and fall off. We only have two leaks that we know

of. One is a new one from Aster that we're still trying to track. We know what it is but trying to fix it. than one at the high school that's been ski for the last couple years. Other than that, we have some really leaks and we solved a pretty significant problem at Asher. I think >> been dealing with for quite some time and something actually. >> Is it a secret? >> Yes. >> We don't talk about fight club. We don't talk about it. If we don't talk about it, it doesn't come back. >> Okay. Item B as we were discussing the study session. So, we'll move on to item D, the finance report. >> Yes. As you know, Mindy's not here, so I We'll do the finance report today um as best I can be.

Um revenues are coming in on time in a timely manner as as well as unfortunately expenses are coming in timely manner. Also, I do know for the September and October payroll, we came within our budget for each of those months, which is I know that makes mind nervous every um every September to make because it's our big payroll to make sure everything comes in within the budget. So that did come in. Um currently um and I started not because of any gone but I started the beginning of the year that I review every uh requisition that comes through and I have a I actually approve of the loan and I negoti to approve. So, it's given me a good opportunity to um look at what people are purchasing and I've had some conversations with administrators

and buildings about what's being purchased and um I think it's good considering some potential budget predicaments that come in and might put some restrictions on some spending as we go further. So, that part's been good. So, I don't have anything else for the recording. >> We love that enrollment report. >> Yeah. So, I think we're down to six students this month, which is not good, but uh it's still six. Um I was looking at this again today to review it and uh although we're down to six students, I know of at least four six students that have moved in this month already. So, and I I don't know if any kids have left, but I still impressed with the class size in the elementary. Um, they're getting up there a little bit in fifth grade,

but overall they're very good, and I think that's good for now given what um given the amount of budget cuts we had to make last year. Um, I shared with the board information concerning a uh study that was done by Portland State University concerning a population report. Um, I thought it was a very easy read, easy to understand. Um, I have that data as well as quite a bit of other data that I'm I'm going to put into that I've reviewed. I see put into um information that's understandable and take some stuff out that's not relevant. hoping to have that ready by February. It's not due according to our goals until June, but I I have the information. So that will help understand our enrollment issues we're having also. So >> and item six is

featuring comments and questions. Do we have >> I do not. >> Okay. Item seven, information. Uh, item eight, unfinished business. We'll move on to item nine, new business. Item A is 2026 2029 superintendent contract approval. This is an actual item. >> I'll move to approve the 2026 through 2029 superintendent contract. I'll second it. >> All those in favor? I. >> Anybody? All right. Item B, the 2025A election board of directors, Greg Kent. I'll move to approve uh Greg Kent to the board of directors for OBA 2025. >> I'll second. All those in favor >> I posted. >> Item C is the 2025 OSA election legislative policy committee. Sandre Gomez. I'll move to approve Sandre Gomez um to the OBA legislative policy committee. >> I'll second it. All those in favor. Opposed. All right. Item D

isou City of Atoria storage and facil facility use. >> Yeah. So just let me explain a little bit on that because that's new and it's new from the standpoint is it's coming for approval. But this uh NLOU with the city of Atoria is they currently store emergency equipment within our district. When I asked them about that and asked Billy, I wouldn't even know. We wouldn't even know what's being stored. It's just sort of put away so people don't it's not dangerous or anything. But so they've already done that. They've also asked that if if it's a real big emergency like the big ones yet that our buses would be accessible to our community. And I I said sure. I mean, he wouldn't want to do that anyway. So that just puts it the agreement in

writing. And once it's approved by the board, it's approved by the board tonight. Then it goes to city council for approval. >> I'm going have to approve theou for the city of Atoria storage and facilities. Is that what we call it? Or is it what do you want? >> I'll second. All those in favor? I >> opposed. >> All right. New item E, the JOA directory information. >> So because it's added, we don't have it in front of us, but we would use the same policy that was provided to you in the study session. Plus, we this is what I'm not saying we're doing because I thought this is what we talked about. So that we would add um parent emails to the directory information with a a caveat and I'll read this. I have

two separate ones because I couldn't remember which one you wanted to do whether it was one just for pictures or one in general. Um so I'll read both. The first one is just in general. email address will be released at the discretion of the superintendent with a signed affidavit that restricts how email addresses can be used. That would cover everybody for email addresses. The other one is email address will be released to picture companies for school or sports picture purposes at the discretion of the superintendent with a signed application that restricts picture companies on how they can uh use email addresses. So if we did just photos that wouldn't cover Justin or >> I'm sorry >> if we did just photos that would cover Justin or graduation. >> The first one would cover Justin everything.

>> Yeah. The first one looks a little more cleaner to me also because you don't have the first one. You don't have the first one. someone could just come and ask for the email address and there's no language that would stop us to do that because it's sitting there use the first one then we can we can put a stop to all of it at the discretion of the superintendent >> and what we can do is we'll show it next month is we can put an asterk by email addresses parent email address will be the last time we're on the um policy under the directory, we'll put an aster by with a statement underneath it. So, it's related right to that staff email address. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Do we need to be

more specific about the restrictions or just think that's good? >> Um I don't I haven't really thought of that only because like I don't know what they want. Well, I know my pictures. I know what they want. I know what Jos wants, but they can't use the email for, you know, we need to specify. >> You can if you want >> or >> Yeah, >> I think we're good with I can't remember how you said it, but with an app signed affidavit on how they are supposed to be used. >> I can put that statement in there. Well, put the statement in there. Then you can talk about it for the second reason. comfortable. >> Moving on to item 10, comments for the good of the board. >> Yeah, a couple things. Um it was

great to see the kids here tonight >> and um the board we talked about doing that every other night. So it was good to see their excitement. I was talking to get a picture of all the families and kids out to do that but it was good to see everybody. Um, you know, I over the last couple weeks at all times, but it's come to me over the last couple weeks that our staff are really working hard in the classroom with kids and engaging and learning at times when it can be difficult. But I also know I got a group of staff members including administrators, counselors that are really working hard with families right now. And in a couple meetings I was in today, we had some families that are really struggling. Um we have

kids not coming to school out of fear. We have um it's better, the attendance is better. Um we have talked about propping up distance learning for certain kids if we need to if they don't want to come to school. And um had that conversation with staff today as well as representatives from our community. Um, I met with bus drivers today and went over some protocols with them. Um, they're nervous, but I think it's important they understand the importance of student safety and as well as all school employees do. So, but I have their families going through some challenging times right now, whether it's immigration issues or food issues or those type of things. So, but a lot of staff, including all nine of our counselors and administrators, are dealing with this on a daily basis.

So, with that, I do have a statement to read tonight that I've shared with the board, but I will read it and I'll remind people that um a similar statement is going out tomorrow, staff, families, and our local media. And um the statement is Oregon states in a major budget crisis caused by the federal law which is the HR1 also known as the one bit one big beautiful bill and a lower than expected state revenue forecast released on August 27th to balance the state budget. The legislature is considering cuts that will directly affect K through2 education and critical programs for children and vulnerable Oregonians. Are public schools preparing for potential state budget reductions? Um, these state cuts come as our students are simultaneously losing access to federal social safety net programs, including SNAP, food benefits,

and health care services caused by the one day beautiful bill. Because of federal cut uh cuts, our public schools are being called upon to support students health and nutrition needs more than ever. The governor has directed state agencies to cut costs. On October 1st, agencies were told to prepare options for budget reductions at a 2.5% and a 5% level. The state school fund reductions are plan in increments of half percent. The first public list of cuts mainly affected our district FFA program and associated grants. Those cuts came out on Monday. Our literacy grant was protected for now, but as the crisis continues, more major programs, including the student success act, the high school success, and even the state school fund, will be impacted. State economists will release a new revenue forecast on November 19th. If

this forecast does not show growth, the state will likely initiate a mid-year budget cut likely initiate mid-year budget cuts. As of right now, no final decision on the reductions have been made at the state of the local level. Oregon voters created an education stability fund, which is a renewable reserve fund specifically for crisis like this. This fund is projected to have over 1.2 billion available for the 2025 through 2027 period or bianium. We need to urge the governor and the legislature to access these funds just as they did during co um which they accessed over $400 million to help back bill for schools. This will help to prevent devastating mid-year cuts to our schools and safe staff positions. If districts are forced to make cuts without using the fund, it will likely result in fewer

staff potentially midyear. While we're while we're used to advocating for funding every two years, this new federal bill means that we must advocate now to prevent cuts that could last for the next three to five years. We have an opportunity to advocate for solutions that keep K through 12 funding at its current level. And when I say that, I'm referring to the um education stability fund. Um, key advocacy measures could include board members communicate with local legislators and work closely with lobbyists from the Oregon School Boards Association. The district will partner with our employee groups on specific advocacy efforts which have proven highly effective in the past. We must clearly communicate the needs of our K through2 students and our budget situation to staff, parents, and community through the end of this short legislative session

uh which will end in March of 2026 and begins into early January. The district will be inviting our local legislators to visit the district on a school day prior to the legislative session that begins in January to see our to see our quality programs firsthand and reinforce the need for advoc for their advocacy and support at the state level. That probably will happen in December. I'll have a letter to them early next week. And I I've already talked to some administrators when they do visit. That's going to be kid ran and kid generated. Not so much as adult. We might have a meeting where we can have like a one sheet of paper to talk about what the cuts would impact us. But that either way might also come from students. I am open to

additional ideas and strategies you have to support our work in maintaining K through2 funding. One of the reasons I came out with this now and is two reasons. One, the board heard about this, I heard about it for about a month, mentioned it at the board meeting last month. The board heard about it this weekend in depth on Saturday and then I was in a meeting on Monday morning where they announced the initial first round of cuts at the state level which included the FFA programs. I have had conversations with our FFA adviser. They were aware of the cuts before um before I told them, but I didn't want to mention them tonight without them knowing. Um and they that group which is a very um forceful do great work are probably going to partner

with us to do some advocacy work also. So that's what I have for today. maybe not here. Quinn, would you like to >> um I don't know. I feel like uh something I just thought I'd throw out there is u a group of uh seniors recently went to uh the fairgrounds. They have a board there and spoke to the board to uh reduce the cost for the senior celebration which uh was successful in uh basically they have to do volunteering to get this reduction in cost. Um but I also found it kind of interesting that the board meetings for the exact same and the exact same schedule. Um, with your letter, Craig, um, was it education, shoot, education, coverage, access, no stability fund, education, stability, like what did I write? Um, I just so I

mean he I feel like there's so many things flying around and I've heard with the government opening that part of what they're trying to um compromise on or whatever is more funding for SNAP and Medicaid or medic I don't know >> medic >> care and um but I guess part of my concern is like I don't I think our crisis is completely just the federal government, too. I feel like there's some within our own state, too. And just um just looking forward if we're advocating for the possibility of needing to use that fund, do we need to like I don't want to jump the gun and start making decisions about the district based on not having, you know, not having facts, but um as far as our advocacy, just to have the, you know, the

leaders here in our state understanding like if it comes to this. We would like to to look at pursuing this. Do we need to start that earlier? Like no. You know, >> I I would say just from understanding and understanding legislator's timeline, I think we need to make make sure that we need to let that revenue forecast come out on November 19th, I say. >> And that will tell us a lot. And I think we have a window from then from there until January 2nd when they go into session >> is really the advocacy window. And I just feel like I mean there's so much I don't want to call it political games but political you know trying to make posturing I guess is the word and uh almost feels like trying to get us

like all super worried and I don't you know not that there's not reason to be worried but um just I don't know it feels like there's a lot of that back and forth and get kind of fatigued, I don't know, by it. And I don't know if anybody else feels that way, but I'm just trying not to, yeah, jump to conclusions one way or the other, but I like that waiting till it comes out and we know and kind of making a plan. But I am for, you know, us um advocating to use that fund if we need to. It seems like that's why it's there. And I appreciate our school district, everybody just caring for the kids and um you know when things are hard just um I just appreciate everybody reaching out and

and taking that extra care of the students and um I think it's one of the things that makes our school district really great and I appreciate like our engagement I say engagement coaches or um Randy and we are all of them that go out to families and and um really work with them and understand them and try to help in any way we can. And so I just appreciate our school district, proud of that of our school district just um taking that extra effort to really care for the students and their families. And um I guess with that too, I'm on a more positive note, excited uh for the volleyball team. It was so fun to watch them almost just so close to uh taking out the number one team. That would have been something.

But man, they should be really proud of themselves and um what they did there. They were fantastic. And cross country. fun to hear about Will's injury and um hopefully he'll be able to get that figured out. But really impressed that he's still he ran his race even in pain and uh persevered and then their third team for going. That was fun to watch them tonight and it's a much bigger team out there. That was really fun to watch and I didn't realize we had a math club that went to competitions. So that was >> it is at the high school and I think they send in their submissions. >> Okay. >> Yeah. And um oh and I thought that was great with the opportunities kind of taking a positive tack on the no phone policy

creating some engagement there and kind of maybe getting kids excited about some other opportunities. So maybe it's not such a negative. Um so anyway, thank you all for your work and all the goals they've set and progressing 17. Sorry for talking so long. No. Uh I should say I really enjoyed uh being invited downstairs. Uh don't go in that gym too often. It reminded me that it's it's a really beautiful gym. Um I would love to see it uh be taken care of or updated to be a more usable resource in our community. I know the gym floor hasn't been resurfaced really long time. Uh the other gyms in the district do get surfaced uh either way. So, like to see that as a as a another community resource. Um, couple other things. Uh, just

want to say I'm really excited about uh having Mr. Rob's contract reapproved. When you when you're at the top, you don't always get the credit. I just want to say that I really appreciate what you do. Thank you. You do a fantastic job. Um one question and I have one more thing to say but with the uh instructional coach information here this uh total allocation amount >> is that just for >> I think that's just uh back >> that's just salary and benefits. Yeah, I think yeah, that's not the case for like alternative event because I think the amount in there also included uh technology software online programs, but I I'd have to go back and look, but I'm pretty sure that there should be anything else, right? >> Yeah. Just uh curious. It's a

large amount for for me. I just curious if you if you have more details to provide would be appreciated. Um, and then one more thing, uh, appreciate all the information you provided. I think it's appropriate for the board to maybe begin exploring, uh, possibilities of an operational lead. Um, I hope the board would consider uh, putting that as an agenda item and, uh, discussing that, evaluating what those options could look like to help with some of these budget issues that we we may have. Um but you know board conversation and then move towards uh some community input and seeing what our options are with that. >> Can I speak to that real quick? >> So prior to last year when I was off I did a little bit of work on that area and had

conversations with the group that support school districts and cities and that type of stuff with operational levies. So became a little bit more aware of it and um not because of this crisis but just general knowledge for the board. I'd like to bring that group here in December to do a presentation on local and I'm telling you it takes a couple presentations to understand it. So, uh, I had a meeting with them, I think the very very beginning of December, just they're ready to come in December, but my meeting is just to, um, share the what they're going to present, but I'd like them to present a study session in December. That's okay. >> Okay. Um, I just I'm was excited to see all the happy faces in the room tonight. It's nice when everybody's

smiling and not frowning at us. Um, and I think that the recognizing the attendance is a good idea. I wonder are we going to keep that as community recognition or is it going to be a separate thing though on the >> whatever whatever the board like to do. Yeah. It takes takes a little time. >> Yeah. Um, I guess if there's another community that we need to recognize, we can do both. Yeah. >> Um, and I want to thank the district for sending us to OCA. Um, it was useful this year. I felt like it was very serious stuff that I went through. Um, but it was useful and that's it. Uh, I appreciate your statement. I would love to when the revenue forecast comes out and send us that information if we don't already

see it everywhere. Um and uh yeah, congratulations to our students who um were recognized tonight. That is awesome. I the little ones are excitement. It's like infectious. I don't know. Quinn, do you do that? Come home. Yes. All right. Um and yeah, thank you for letting us go to OCD. Um I did too. I found like um my time was shortened because of having to traveling state but um the sessions that I was able to attend were um been a school board member for what 12 years I don't know and I and I um learned more about this the um state school fund than I had ever known or maybe wanted to know It was fascinating. So that's it. And thanks for translating. >> Always a pleasure. >> Um I just want to say that

I went to the uh the littleh Halloween dress up choir high school choir high school band and the advanced middle school band concert that they did. And who said choir teacher put that together? Correct. to bring diverse culture and um we all played one um and then there was like a duo of like two high schoolers doing a mariachi with like I didn't they didn't talk about the guitar they use but they use this guitar that's a little different than a regular guitar. It's got double the strength but I don't know if people appreciated um the music or understood like the technique that it took to be able to play the way those two students played and made it amazing. Um, >> didn't they start a mari marate club or something? >> Maria class. >>

Yeah. And it was it was wonderful and I enjoyed it and I sang along and kids complained and I was singing behind another Spanish but that's fine like mom was singing. But I love that and I love the diversity being brought to the community. I know some there are some really tough times going on right now and it's really hard for a lot of people um myself included. I feel um I feel very blessed and lucky uh to have everybody on this board here today and I also feel very lucky to represent that 20% of the our students that we have. Um so thank you guys for understanding. I'm just hoping that, you know, um that our students feel safe at school. That's one of the biggest things. And so, thank you, Mr. Hopwoods, for

working with the buses and transportation, everything to get our kids safe home. So, thank you for that. And um yeah, and I saw the cheer before this and that was great. >> So, they did a great job and yeah, that's pretty much it for me today. All right, having said that, future meetings will be Wednesday, December 10th at 5:45 for the study session and at 7 o'clock with the regular board meeting here. Make a motion to adjurnn.
