001believe he stands of the united states welcome everyone to this school board meeting um the first item is public forums sign up so in this remote environment um we will be having public forum and if you'd like to address the board you can do so by signing up through the chat and let jill know that you would like to address us and the chat really is intended for that purpose only um we're not able to engage and answer questions through the chat so um and also with zoom if you accidentally unmute yourself just know that our host may mute you without your permission so if we can um keep the background noise to a minimum all right so public forum sign up if you'd like to address us visit visitor guest book and announcements i
002don't have any announcements anybody have announcements i have a thing on the um public forum and that is uh it's come to i was asked by somebody if we could have a hispanic interpreter so that if somebody in the community who doesn't speak english wanted to say something that that message could still be made and it seems like a real cruel suggestion it's a really good idea to have a trans an interpreter in in the room for our board meetings yes we'll make that happen starting in july i like it right i'm looking yes i'm looking at those i can make it so look at rachel yes thank you john good point all right presentations we have bill schecker in the room um for property and liability insurance coverage hey bill you don't need your
003there you go oh here we are back in the zoom we haven't got out of this yet so does everyone have the handout i gave you awesome so we'll go through that so general review of pace which is our insurance carrier and is the insurance carrier for most school districts in oregon it's part of a partnership between oregon school boards association and the special districts association of oregon it's the largest property and liability risk pool of school entities in the state probably one of the biggest in the united states covering more than 200 education organizations so pace self insures up to 1 million for property and liability up to 750 000 and then the balance of the claims are paid by the reinsurance carriers pace has a surplus of 39 million and that was as
004of 6 30 of 2020. um the renewal rates as expected they're going to go up about 15 percent due to a lot of the property claims that happened all over the place and other reasons and they want to make sure there's enough money for future claims uh the reinsurance costs continue to rise because they are also covering claims that have gone on all over the united states the property reinsurance market is in a state of turmoil before covet 19 and now that's getting even harder to place coverage as they're trying to evaluate the ongoing underwriting and invest investment exposures um paces has an indication that they will be able to get the limits needed but will be dramatically at an increased cost paces estimated property reinsurance is so our 15 increase looks good compared to
005what they're gonna have to pay for reinsurance on the property side liability reinsurance they're also being hit hard with a big one is sexual abuse and molestation claims which they call sam jury verdicts are increasing at a dramatic frequency and severity as a result pace's estimated liability costs will be increasing 20 to 25 percent a lot of the pace members are hit hard with these sam claims based on a recent three million jury verdict against pace member they don't tell us who it was but they've raised their reserve claims their claim reserves uh to help offset that and for the future another big one which we've all seen happen around the u.s are the cyber claims and it seems like those are getting more frequent by the day almost um they've gone from an obscure
006you know an infrequent event to a rapidly escalating problem school districts education service districts and community colleges are being specifically targeted over the past two years pace has paid over 1 million in cyber claims and the trend is going up we use aig for this coverage and those rates are probably going to go up as well yay um pace uh doesn't experience rating when they figure their rates so uh we have a really good loss ratio so our rates don't go up as much as they could where a district that has a poor loss ratio are seeing higher than 15 percent rate increases so that's good we're you know we're doing things right property values uh we increased were increased by two percent across the board i am now thinking that wasn't enough that was
007done by by pace but i'm comparing our 45 million insured value to what was presented at our what that one meeting we had the other day a long term goal uh facility planning meeting where i think our it was like 93 million is what the what the um architect had come up with for a replacement value of all our buildings so i'm going to look at that a little closer uh coming up earthquake coverage limitations uh the pace pace has a risk pool limit for earthquake of 450 million this has not changed gone up deductible for earthquake is five percent of the value subject to a minimum of five thousand and a max of fifty thousand sub-limit coverage max for mount angel school districts is 10 million so the absolute most we would get from
008an earthquake coverage-wise is 10 million uh which probably wouldn't go very far if it was a severe one i think we're looking at upgrading some of our earthquake safety measures in the buildings to help alleviate some of that so optional coverages would be you know that we could purchase on the outside market it's about ten thousand dollars per 10 million of coverage um so ongoing important items the employment practice deductible you know there's a 25 000 minimum deductible for terminations of employment if pace or approved legal counsel is not consulted prior to an employment termination um and then it kind of has to be consulted and they have to discuss it can't just be like oh i'm letting you know i'm gonna let this i'm gonna fire this person you know and then they the
009lawsuit possibly and and then that would not count they then you'd have the 25 000 minimum deductibles so has to be some back and forth there cyber liability there's now a ransomware sub limit of two hundred thousand um new supplemental coverages due to the covet outbreak they now have a communicable disease defense cost limit of 50 000 continued services we have our pace legal services our loss control services safety and liability training claims management services and online access to safe schools our workers compensation is provided by safe corporation our experience mod that for the last for this year coming up is not 0.96 which is down from last year's of 0.97 uh based on our estimated payroll figures the premium is about 26 700. we did get a dividend of 36.81 last year and they
010continue to provide regional safety management consulting and return to work coordinators for our district if needed so that is it in a nutshell the other document i gave you is just a summary of all the coverages and you can look at that you know as need be um not much has changed just the rates so any questions hey hey bill i had a question so for as far as rates go in addition to the 26 000 that's the what the workers have uh what's our total insurance premium good question i it's probably a hund probably around 100 000 for the property and casualty portion and that so that covers everything other than the than the workers comp stuff that you were talking about correct yeah correct that would cover yeah your liability and your buildings
011okay so it's a pretty good chunk of money it's a big yeah it's a big chunk other questions all right thank you bill you're very welcome i might skip out now you're free to do something good to see you moving on we have staff recognition troy you want to take the lead on this one yeah yeah we we're uh in a year where we have uh several staff who are retiring and this [Music] personally susie club from the elementary school is retiring after 20 years of service in orchestra chris mcdonald high school 15 years of service as a high school ela teacher steve maurer 35 years of service [Music] one of our graduates and has been around for a long time and i think there are a lot of stories that could come out of
012his time here but i'm not sure we all want to share them all tonight but um we are having uh having the pack that we are having a staff recognition uh gail schmidt another 1986 prior from the district so a lot of years of experience between those four high employees for our district and we really appreciate what they have done to stay in the same job for 35 years is pretty miraculous we have two board members who have served a couple terms and recognizing them tonight as well ron hill eight years of service double term and great trigger another double turner he's not here tonight so we've we've agreed we're going to send the same telegram to his doorstep with his tonight but uh we have rod uh jerry gonna present to ron he has
01312 years old yeah he's a three-termer sorry greg you'll have to come back next month we know you're going to continue getting involved and staying active so thank you so so much is that it troy yeah i want to get a picture though sorry and um a retirement that's missing from the slideshow it's weird i don't know how this happened but troy is retiring as well after how many 19 years with the district total and 11 as superintendent uh 10 as superintendent so we have a card but it's just not quite ready for you yet and there is a gift in the card for you and you find a nice place to have a couple meals in eugene so we really appreciate everything troy you've been collaborative putting kids first calm a strong leader for
014us over the years and we just really appreciate you so thank you thank you thank you to the board and the community i've been very supportive over the years and i'm confident um so comprehensive counseling so we have some counselors here welcome counselors all right i'm going to get us started um with some introductions i'm going to let my fellow counselors introduce themselves first so go ahead hello andrea robeson the middle school counselor the high school counselor and i'm lucas anderson st mary's counselor and tonight we're here to discuss the final components of our comprehensive counseling framework we originally presented this to the school board and fall and throughout the year we have been working diligently on finalizing our components and getting it ready to implement for the 2122 school year so in order to
015do that i would like to read our comprehensive counseling mission statement because this was our guiding principles and what we used to really help us develop and finalize our comprehensive framework so with that our mission as school counselors in mount angel school district is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that will identify and eliminate barriers to assist all students in acquiring the skills knowledge and attitudes needed to become effective learners responsible citizens and have the ability to thrive through adverse situations so with our mission statement and the back of our mind as we continued we finalized our draft in i believe it was october and what the counselors did is we went back through to make sure that we were meeting all the requirements but also aligning all three buildings and how we did that
016is we took the division 22 assurances and we we broke those out into each one into its own category and what we first did is determine how that aligned with our framework so for instance if andre do you want to scroll up to the top for the first one a so the first one our compliance standard was understand and utilize educational opportunities and alternative availables to them so we determined that that fell into the framework alignment of delivery system we determined all three buildings were meeting that compliance standard and to the far right we listed all the different ways that we were meeting that compliance standard so we went through each one of them i believe there was oh probably like 20 plus to ensure that we are doing our job and meeting the requirements
017but also meeting the needs of our students through these standards because these standards really do just solidify what needs to be done in order to meet our mission statement so with that i'm going to turn over the next part of the presentation to mr orapeza and he's going to give a little more insight into the glossary and our calendars we created the glossary section to help clarify and define what all the programs are that we reference in the division 22 standards and use in our schools some of the sections of the glossary have links and worked web pages to those programs to allow people to further research if they're interested otherwise we give a brief description on what the program does and how we use it and also what um alignment is in our ask
018a reference below the glossary we actu we each added our own continuous improvement annual calendars these calendars are a way for our way to help us stay organized and serve as a means to prioritize what we spend our time working on each month we believe these will be very beneficial in communicating the work that we do to with our students staff and admin so that everyone knows a little bit more about what to expect from counselors each month sorry uh some of the items listed in each month are activities that we have not been yet a bit able to do um but we hope to get to it this coming year and there andra has one up i think it was jfk's yes i had jfk's up so sorry i'm just going back to my
019bar sorry everybody if this hurts your head don't look yet there you go yeah so each of ours looks um like this we wanted to stay consistent in the format um so if they're easy to follow at each school and um like you mentioned we you will see activities in here that we have not done in the past but we know that these are things that we should be doing as counselors and we want to help use this as a way to communicate that with our admin when we plan our years so that we can make sure and actually get these things done because this is ultimately what we believe is best for students so finally what we refined was this action plan for next school year at first we just had it as action
020plan but then we wanted to make it specific for next school year because we want to have want to be as specific as we can with all of this so that we can actually do these things and make them happen so the first thing that we hope to do in the fall early fall is execute a district-wide needs assessment so that the goals that we develop when we do them in october november for our slgs and our professional growth goals um are data-driven goals they are based on students assessments what we have used in the past is the 40 developmental assets which is done by the search institute and what we really like about it is that it is split up by developmental age and level so there's one specific for elementary and then secondary
021so we plan to use that unless over the summer and different pd that we each take if we find something better out there then maybe we would use one of those but we do want to use a needs assessment to determine our goals so that they are data driven the next thing we want to do is review and fill out the mindsets and behaviors programming program planning tool which is really planning um overall the school counseling curriculum so more specifically by grade level and standards that would be met in each grade level um the next thing we really want to do is develop management agreements which help us counselors and our admin get on the same page in regards to our program plans and goals and then a big one we want to do is
022initiate an advisory council which is a representative group of stakeholders who are selected to review and advise on the implementation of the school counseling program um in our whole district so we thought about doing it um by each building but we really feel like we need to start big as a whole district and then maybe from there we break down into smaller groups but because we are trying to align as much as we can so that we can really be a team and support each other and support our students through the transitions we have a lot of families at multiple buildings um we feel like it makes most sense to start as a district with an advisory council and then obviously continue to work on and update this document so you might have noticed in
023the copy that you got there's already some changes to it because as we learn and grow we're going to continue adding to this and updating it so that it's current and based on current information thank you for your time do you have any questions board members have questions for the counselors thank you that's a great presentation thanks for watching um and i'm going to take care of a housekeeping issue before we move on the agenda we have two people in the room as our audience so if you guys want to move your chairs like out a little bit and to the side so you can see the screen thank you john for being a good host recognizing you don't want to trigger any claims for neck injuries so thank you all right now we are
024going to open the budget hearing so the budget hearing is open moving on approving the agenda there haven't been any changes um the additions are in red in front of you from what we were provided before tonight's meeting so if someone wants to make a motion to it for the agenda you should i believe that we approve the agenda as presented right any discussion all in favor motion process thank you consent items is there anything in consent items that anybody would like to discuss to have pulled okay somebody wants to make a motion to approve the consent items as presented all right moves and john seconds any discussion um [Music] moving on to reports administrator reports all right i can get us started jasmine so at st mary's um we are ending the year with
025um a lot of events which you'll see throughout all three schools i think um we have been having some dress-up days on fridays just to kind of keep it fun through this long june month and that's been pretty fun uh next week we're going to be celebrating our fifth graders in a few different ways we have organized a staff and fifth grade kickball game uh instead of dodgeball in the gym so we're you know adapting to our coveted times uh we will have our fifth grade promotion ceremony at jfk we decided it was it made the most sense to utilize the same location for graduation eighth grade promotion and then fifth grade promotions so we'll be outdoors um there celebrating our fifth graders on tuesday and then we will have field day on the last
026day of school um so we're we're excited to still you know get to include some of those fun end-of-year activities that the kids really enjoy um let's see our attendance rate uh for the year is at 91.5 percent um you know we're we're doing the best we can holding strong there um but it has certainly been a long year so um you know we know that some families have already planned some trips and things next week so you know we do anticipate we'll have a few more kiddos out next week but hopefully we can get them there and as many as possible so that we can enjoy the end of the year together um we've got a couple of things happening um just a lot of intentional planning for next year i've been seeking feedback
027from staff and families and students about you know things that they actually have liked this year you know that have changed you know are there any things that they would like to keep around um and then what things are they looking forward to getting back to um so obviously outside of the five full days of school which we're all excited for next year um just you know a few things have come up uh that they've brought up and um and actually they they're a few things that they've liked um they really like getting to go to their classrooms first thing in the morning instead of waiting in the cafeteria so you know a few things that we've adapted due to covid um actually might stick around for next year so it's it's been great to
028hear from from some more of our stakeholders and then we have teachers who are just planning on getting back into a regular classroom we're really hopeful we don't have to have a classroom in our library next year we'd like to be able to bring our library back and um you know be able to check out books and and things so um we're that's just kind of you know starting to get ready for next year um while finishing up the year strong so any questions i i'm seeing no questions jasmine thank you good work so much and middle school mr chicky yeah hi um for the middle school we'll start out with the attendance there um attendance has uh stayed steady it's it's decreased a little bit like jasmine said with families going on vacation a
029little bit early but we're continuing to follow up with parents and guardians of all students not in attendance just to make sure that um that they know school is still continuing and and when those end of the year activities are and just what to look forward to and so karen's continuing to do a great job reaching out to families and as you see on that next bullet point also getting them registered for the upcoming school year um when i did this back on i think the 10th uh we had 49 students already registered for next school year and continuing just to build that number day by day and so families are doing a great job reaching out and um taking advantage of our online registration the long list of activities um with the middle school
030we um you know we have our fifth graders transitioning in and our eighth graders transitioning out and so uh we get the pleasure of coordinating with both schools in um those activities and so on the 10th we had student leadership elections for our students which were announced today at at our assembly we also had a presentation for our fifth graders when we talked to him a little bit about mams and what to look forward to um today we had our final school wide assembly and began yearbook distribution uh so students who had pre-ordered yearbooks and then tomorrow we actually do a school-wide tour with our fifth graders and so i'm going to have a couple staff members help us out and we'll get a chance to be on campus on the outside of classrooms and
031ask a couple more questions prior to them heading off to summer and then um as this week kind of towards the later end of this week we started shifting gears to promotion and um we wanted to get our eighth graders really um a chance to tour the high school and ask mr peterson and mr orpasa questions before they got settled in and so they'll do a tour on the 18th and 21st in addition to promotion practice on each of those mornings and um following up with that um we have promotion on monday the 21st um and so that's exciting and you guys are all welcome to attend that um and so i'll send you guys the information very soon here and um following promotion we'll have field day which our kids our students and staff
032will be able to get outside be active enjoy a little kona ice and um something that we just solidified today we're going to try to also include an 8th grade celebration on the 22nd in which they chose um an outdoor movie event instead of the beach and so those big blow up movie screens we'll be bringing one of those in and being able to celebrate our eighth graders as they transition to high school um along with uh ending this year on a successful note we're already thinking about um some of the extracurricular activities available next year and so we have um started to get students um signed up for sports fall sports those activity calendar or those activity schedules and game schedules are already available on our calendars and on the district website so as
033parents are planning for the fall they're able to hopefully plan a little bit more in advance and continuing to work with our teams just to make sure we have all the necessary resources in place and scheduling secured for hopefully five days of in-person instruction next school year great and that wraps up middle thank you jared so um speaking of eighth grade promotion yes i think it's nice for at least one board member to be in attendance and i am unable to attend i got tickets to the um olympic trials down at hamilton field so that's where i'm going to be in eugene um but i just want to put it out there if anybody wants to um seriously consider attending a great promotion it's always nice to have a board member so and since it's
034outside this year at jfk it'll be a different experience than last year when it was pouring down rain and we did it so it'll be a little more pleasant so absolutely so encouraging board members to consider doing that and any questions for jared all right well thank you thank you guys moving on to mr peterson from the high school good evening how's everybody doing um awesome i'm seeing thumbs up and before i get started i also want to say thank you to our our board members um especially rod and greg who are leaving us but i know we'll also be around but i think we all can agree that this has been quite a year and or quite a year and a half and i want to thank you all for your your grace and
035patience as as we've planned and changed the way we do things and and thank you for your support it's it's been it's been nice to have that so thank you and rod and greg's not here but rod thank you so much for your was it eight years or 12 years i can't remember which one yours was so um thank you for that so let's dive into the high school it's there's a lot of stuff in here but i'm not gonna go through it all just because there's a lot of stuff here um so i'm gonna hit the hit some bullet points our graduation rate is not what we'd like it to be but it's not um it's not how do i want to say this um it's not a surprise as i look around to
036other high schools throughout our area we're kind of seeing the exact same thing and these are rates since may 6th our 9th graders are at 77 percent our 10th graders are at 74 percent our 11th graders 66 percent and our 12th graders at 76 percent so um while we'd like to see that higher what we've typically seen since we've come back to school is kids showing up on those days on their in-person days but not so much on the days that they're online so that's been quite a change for us and um you know hopefully we never have to go through this again but if we do there's there's things that we we know that we can do to to make that better as we move forward um graduation alliance we talked about that a
037month or so ago on our partnership with them so we actually have five students who have been considered dropouts or or close to being dropouts that have been enrolled in tier four which means that their full-time grad alliance students their jfk students we get a percentage of their fte it's a very small percentage however grad alliance does everything else they enroll them in their class with their online classes they take attendance on them they provide them social emotional support they provide them academic support as well as academic support so we've got five of those folks that um that are are enrolled and i'm super excited about that because those there's five kids that we could potentially bring back as as graduates of jfk at some point when they finish um speaking of those that have
038finished graduation alliance helped us help with two of our current seniors complete their required courses so two of our seniors who who are on the cusp maybe not making it because they took um a couple grad alliance courses they were able to to uh tip that balance over the over the other side which is a good thing so now they're now they're going to be graduating which is which is phenomenal um as you heard from the other two administrators we continue to plan for next year we're building master schedules teachers assignments bell schedules etc there's just a lot that's been going into the last part of the year and then on top of that you add all the end of the year activities so there's there's been a lot going on the last two months
039so while i'm smiling right now i don't know why but it's it's actually been a really good two months and it's kind of cool to see the light at the end of the tunnel and knowing that we will be coming back to school five days a week seven periods a day so that's what i'm pretty excited about season 4 athletics full swing we are wrapping up league if you will this week and the culmination week will be next week so that's a pretty cool thing so we've got boys and girls basketball wrestling i was at senior night on friday night there was um a gym full of kids that were wrestling and um it was really cool and fun to watch those kids um i always get a little nervous when you're you're wrestling and
040and we're in the middle of or maybe at the tail end of covid but still it's like should we be doing that i don't know if we should be doing that but uh we're allowed to do that so let's talk about some graduation numbers um this is really exciting stuff so of our 41 active students that started the year with us so we had 41 seniors start the year with us 36 or 36 of them are actually graduating so what that means is um roughly 88 of our active seniors this year are graduating graduating which is a phenomenal a phenomenal thing two of those 41 students received their ged so if you talk about four year completed rates that puts us in the 92 percent range so so 38 out of 41 are really good
041and um i want to say two of the students that didn't that did not grow or will not graduate i believe are actually signed up for graduation alliance so it's it's i'm hopeful that we'll actually get them either later on this summer to graduate or later on next year so it would be a i'm a fifth year graduate for those students so um you know with all the work we've been doing trying to get programs in place and systems in place to make sure that we have kids on track to graduate and systems in place that that that will help those students that are not i think we're finally there which is pretty cool um and all 38 so 36 that are actually graduating the two that are earning their geds are also walking and
042they're walking in graduation on this coming saturday at two o'clock in the afternoon um so we've got it all set out we'll be outside on the um the randy traeger memorial football field and um there'll be a lot of folks out there we're estimating um roughly 400 400 people in pods of 10 because that's what the kids were allowed to invite so families sit together and then we'll social distance with the other folks six feet apart so we're always making sure we're six thirds so there's going to be a lot of people sitting on the football field um i'm only going to chat about this week's senior activities because you can read the rest of it for finals week next week today was a regular day for freshmen and and it was the final on
043finals for seniors so they they did all their finals and then they turned in their chromebooks their check-in sheets so as far as academics they were they were done today um tomorrow is a regular day for sophomores and juniors wednesday is the senior beach trip they're taking off at eight o'clock in the morning i believe they're heading over to fogerty forwardy beach on the beach and i think at one point in time we were they were planning to come back at 5 30 but we've got a basketball game that some of those kids got to come back to so they're coming back at 3 30. thursday uh is a regular day for freshmen and it's the last day for freshmen um no excuse me it's not it's a regular day for freshmen i'm getting ahead
044of myself so we have the grad walk uh which kids need to be at school at nine o'clock and then we'll we'll make our way down to st mary's probably getting to st mary's at about 9 30 ish and then um uh with jasmine's help we've been able to we'll have kids lined up and teachers lined up on the fences and we'll just go around the block so we're not going into the building we'll we'll walk back to um the middle school and jared's doing the same thing he'll have his teachers and students lined up along the fence and then and so we'll be able to celebrate with them and and our kids will have their cap and gowns on and it'll be a good time we come back grad practice typically we do a
045couple run-throughs and then we have a lunch we provide lunch for our grads and i believe there's a special activity that i don't believe i can say because it's kind of a secret so i'm not gonna i'm not gonna spoil the secret but there's there might be something for seniors after the lunch friday is a regular uh day for sophomores and juniors saturday again is the graduation ceremony at two o'clock um each graduate is allowed to invite 10 people which is a large number of people when you compare it to um other districts around us so um so i think it's it's it's going to be a wonderful time i think the temperature is going to be a little bit hot i think we're going to be in the low to mid 80s but i
046would much rather be in the low to mid 80s than the mid low to mid 60s in rain so i will let you kind of take a look at the rest of the rest of that week and just ask if do we have any questions the question is last year i think we had three people that rolled over and we're going to be working with that organization on uh getting their degrees did any of those pan out we didn't actually go with a graduation alliance last year john but it's a great question because there was some stuff going on with state licensing so we still have two of those students and both of those are now signed up for grad alliance so we have two out of those three that are that are actually working
047and does that mean one drop down completely yes but i can guarantee you knowing graduation lines they are trying to hunt that student down to get them signed up as well thank you you're welcome any other questions for dale all right thank you dale you're welcome and this is erica with specialties yeah the things that i put in there were pretty short bullets but you guys kind of know the drill by now right it's um it's collections time for ode and put in our applications for all the federal funds i think the thing that is really different right now is house bill 34.99 as troy and i spoke about last month maybe like briefly the month before that i can't remember um but we've been identified as a target district for hospital 34.99 which is
048um related to the systems and processes for how we identify serve and support our english language learners and there's two different levels there's targeted and then there's transformation and we're a target district which is the better of the two if you want to look at it that way still not ideal but the great thing about that is it does come with additional funding which troy will talk about later and we have completed our comprehensive needs assessment which for oregon it's called the oris the oregon integrated systems and it's done at the school level and um each of the schools have completed that and the district um we've completed that as well um ode actually gave us their draft document it was a little rough we got through it though it was a draft um district
049level auris that looks through just through the lens of how we um have our el systems um so it's a little bit different but we went through it and so now it's a matter of um analyzing the data aligning it with different indicators that were identified on the data profile i'm really looking at it as a system as a whole so that we can see maybe what makes sense um there's i'm looking off of like a hard copy piece of paper here so i apologize but there's six different phases um in this initial implementation part and um we're gonna try to be bold and brave and get through the first four and the next oh what do i have like a week and a half two weeks before we're done here in june um but
050i think just with a transition in superintendents it makes sense and while the data is really fresh in our minds and so that's the el program review od has given us some feedback and so needing to submit um our pieces back to them and they've also reviewed our sia plans and given us some questions of which we need to submit back to that um mtss framework review and then mapping current efforts um back to the um applicable house bill 34.99 indicators so it's actually a lot of work it's really worthy work um it's going to be worth it it is a four year identification um and then i think two with some of those indicators you know we're not going to have um achievement data and so we really need to be looking at what
051are some of that formative assessment data that we can be using throughout the throughout the time here that we can be you know really doing some progress monitoring so um really really good work um so that's kind of where we're at we are making progress but it's really deep work and a lot to take on at the very end of the school year um so i think troy will make people talk more about like the money um side of things um and then for summer school and maybe i'll i can join later with professional development when troy gets there if if needed but for summer school we have and i have the official numbers now we're looking at exactly a hundred students coming um for our five week program which is awesome super exciting so
052we're looking at at least six classrooms possibly seven depending on the spacing we still have to follow um this school year's current rssl guidelines so we're still looking at the distancing and the cohorting and that sort of thing um but registration closed on friday so working on that and have some interviews set up um so hopefully we can get that wrapped up this week we have the mini camps um we're super excited about that avid math at the middle school so this is just a really big week for moving forward um and kind of uh wrapping up all that making sure everything is ordered so that we can get um yeah just get that all going we have cameron thompson as our lead uh teacher supervising teacher for summer school um it's just going to
053be really exciting to have that many classrooms going for summer school awesome thank you erica yeah everybody have questions i have a couple okay i mean of course you do i mean let's let's go out with lots of questions rod so the um the seven are those are those teachers are those regular teachers that are gonna be in the in all of those classrooms i'm sorry i didn't hear you what will they be regular will it be teachers in the in all of the summer school classrooms licensed teachers yes so we actually our goal and was to be at so there'll be at least one licensed teacher in every classroom and then um our hope was to maybe have a additional ia or at least um a one to one or a one to two
054classroom ia so they might share an ia between two classrooms because their ratio is going to be low there's going to be about 15 kids in each classroom because of the six foot distancing because kids have to eat in their classrooms so they'll have one teacher and then one ia or 1a will be shared between the two classrooms does that make sense so it's pretty a still really great staffing ratio we already have four ias hired for six to seven classrooms so we're we're doing good with eyes and are we spread over kind of all the grades we are at um k eight and i can actually we actually have a lot of um up for elementary so do we not do anything for for height at the high school level high school is all
055doing credit recovery and dale if you want to pop on and say how many kids you have enrolled in your program yeah we are doing credit recovery rod through graduation alliance that's that's a tier one system um so kids will um they'll sign up 59 a month so they get as many classes as they need for they can get in one month typically that's going to be one um and lido uh mr mro excuse me um is working we've got some kids already signed up but we're going to be getting more kids signed up later this week and next week because we need to make sure that we've got a plan set up for these kids that have not been successful this this school year um so that's that's the plan so i can't give
056you an exact number right now so because i don't know and i apologize for that oh so it's even more than 100 that's that's super cool so i have and this is again this doesn't include camps or the avid math i have 24 k1 i have 28 2 3 and then i have 32 4 5 and 16 middle schoolers just for summer school so it's awesome plus all the other activities we have going on we're shooting for a goal of 20 20 to 25 students for credit recovery this summer yeah it's it's been really busy it's it's exciting i mean it's really great um christy's been really busy jill's been really busy jasmine jared and dale i mean we all have a little you know peace in this we're kind of figuring it out as
057we go like oh yeah we gotta do this and oh have you done this and um i think people are just stepping it up because we don't want to miss on this really exciting opportunity to offer this for kids thank you any other questions all right moving on to superintendent report troy all right have a few spies here the administrative team is always so thorough and some of it'll be checking back with them just a little bit but uh bargaining where uh on your action item tonight you're gonna be um adopting uh approving the agreement with the classified association we're still bargaining with our mt a our management teachers association uh bargained last week the next two meetings are the 16th and 24th uh and we continue to move forward appreciate john's participation and get
058mo's uh he says eric i give you a lot of details on house bill 3499 i think the biggest thing we've had here is that it is we will receive 125 000 per year for each of those four years and we're still working through what that might look like if that's going to be staff or services or professional development we're not certain at this point because we have to finish our assessments first to determine what the need is and then uh like eric has shared they're going through this boris planning tool and trying to get at least four of those indicators whipped out because that is a heavy process and then at the building level now we're doing at the district level uh so that we can report back to the ve and start that
059planning process you heard the message over and over again uh the rssl guidance uh we're expecting the final guidance of mid-august uh which is not ideal but the planning sessions we've had so far have been pretty informative i think they're they're pretty accurate i don't think they're going to move far off of of the themes if you will uh whenever we get the final guidance but we do know that five days full days five days and hold it will be required so um you know we're able to share that with our parents and and so they don't and they're not uh you know still waiting to see if that's actually gonna happen we know that's gonna happen for certain and that's what we're planning for there's some details that we just won't know about we
060can't answer much about his coverings and distancing at this point so we have to just wait and see but uh as information is released we continue to to plan accordingly but like you said it's pretty exciting to be able to think that we're going to come back to something pretty dang normal in the fall detroit on that is that worth sticking on the computer runner the the front table of our our site so that parents that are doing the i don't know if i'm going to back to school with non-angel or whatever that if we can say that on there that that may give some comfort or something yeah we've had the last couple of messages and newsletters on our scoop but we'd be happy to put it up there and on our facebook page
061as well yes like so thank you uh we have a survey out that we're trying to collect information to help planning for the fall uh we have currently have 210 responses i think there were a few more that came in over the weekend but looking at where people are and where folks are right now with their kids and what their plans are for the fall just three quick questions um currently we have uh 178 or 84 of our kids in hybrid 18 or 8 and uh cdl and ten percent currently doing other and they're really there's no real strong area they're all over so those those 22 are probably in 15 16 different programs so they're really not any specific program that we could identify uh what are their plans for next fall and you
062know in the survey we've provided the statement that says we're coming back friday's full day full days uh 192 or 92.3 percent plan to return as of with the information they have currently 19 students or 9.1 plan to attend another uh outlet that's i have some broken down here below 15 of those 19 did provide comments and uh four of them say that they're not returning they have to wear masks perform say they're going to stay with private uh one is an online charter and kind of a mixed message but they say if we're gonna have five days they'll bring back their three kids so it's you know how people respond sometimes you have to interpret a little bit because it's unclear but uh i think it you know it's only 210 responses that's i
063think that's about half of what we would consider a full response for families uh so it's pretty close to in line with what we budgeted for thinking that we're going to get half of our kids back or 40 of the 81 that we lost to see the hybrid so those so those 19 those are ones that are not in our district this year is that right that's correct okay and so okay they're in private online home school uh pods did you have this cdl one split out as well uh this this here is the those who plan for are planning for ceo if it's offered and we we show karen that we don't know if it will be offered but if it was offered would you be interested in it and so this is the
064backwards reporting here there are only 12 or 5.7 who would prefer gdl if it was available okay and that's i'm assuming that's mostly the ones that are currently in cdl not the ones that are hybrid i would imagine yeah the responses were 18 and we're currently [Music] no but i was just wondering on the next slide yeah of that that 12. is that 12 is that then 12 of the 18 probably are the ones that yeah probably i can't say with for certain i have to go back and check the email addresses make sure that they line up so i think that i i guess my closing message on that survey is i think that we're in line with what our prediction is we would like it to outperform us of course but we think
065we're pretty well division 22 standards uh health curriculum uh that you're going to be adopting tonight will bring us in compliance the comprehensive counseling framework that you uh represented tonight we'll bring us in compliance we're still working with the media programs with odd for our high school library so we've been with them a couple times we are still working through how we are going how they're going to allow us to meet those standards with our current situation so that's going to be something that that i believe we're going to meet again before the end of june but i hope that we will be able to share something next month rachel can share something next month uh and you've heard about the events uh through the other uh principles so one thing i'd like to share
066is that on friday the 25th which is the last day for teachers uh we'll be gathering up grandstands 11 30 12 30 we'll provide you with lunch and uh wellness committee is sponsoring or hosting that event we appreciate the work that cameron and his crew have been doing and uh and we'll be recognizing our retirees again and uh maybe sharing some advice or facts about uh bill spokes over the last up to 35 years i don't have questions anybody have questions for trey um board member reports um this is the scholarship no that is yeah okay so i wanted to give a report back to the board during this space just about how we did in our hiring process for a superintendent search and i thought it would be worth it to go over what
067that process was and just talk about how as the five of us were journeying to the most important role a school board has of hiring a new superintendent we were thoughtful we really were seeking transparency in the process and the outcome was a very successful recruitment we ended up with two qualified candidates and i think we're facing a good problem to have because in both alan barber and rachel stuckey we had two qualified people and it took us a while to come to our final decision so i just wanted to go through what we did just for everyone's awareness of of the information gained through that process so um the five of us had information along the way that only the five of us had so just for your awareness you may have seen um
068some parts of it but no one but the five of us well and jill actually saw the whole thing um but that included extensive reference checks john and i each did very thorough reference checks for each candidate and we talked to people that the candidates didn't have on their list we each talked to about 14 different people and those reference checks were shared with all five of us we engaged in the final interview the night of the meet and greet um with each candidate and that was a really really important part of the process um along the way we really do value others perspectives and we continue to do so um and so you may recall we open it up to a survey asking about what qualities and qualifications we want in our next superintendent
069and we got 166 responses to that survey from community members and students and staff we had 12 people who are not board members on the selection committee and they reviewed all of the applications that were received for this position they sat in on the initial interview with our initial six candidates they provided their feedback to us and we took that very seriously and then finally we had a half hour meet and greet with each candidate um in may and we were intentional about advertising that a lot and having an in-person and a remote option to encourage as much participation as as possible considering the circumstances may be a super busy month for everyone but we had about 70 people participate in that community meet and greet and for the size of our district that is
070incredible um our um the recruiter that we hired from oregon school board association said he'd never seen for our sides of a district that much engagement and participation so we really are so thankful for everyone who came and every comment card that was completed every email that was submitted we read each and every one of those and we deliberated we deliberated over two nights because again we had a pretty great problem to have we had two really strong candidates so um we deliberated thoughtfully and thoroughly all five of us agreed on who to hire and we're all 100 supportive and confident with rachel stuckey being the right choice for our district at this time she's going to lead our district effectively she's going to take time to listen to our community students employees other stakeholders
071she two two of the qualities of rachel that stood out to us or or unique that set her apart from alan mentoring is really important to rachel and that's going to be a huge benefit to our administrators and our staff in the school and men angel was the only district that rachel was interested in being a superintendent at she is very interested in our community and our school district and she's going to do great things for us so that's my board report i just want to just go back on that process and congratulate our board for really being thoughtful and open to feedback throughout the process so well done to the five of us and if anybody has any any other reports or anything to add thank you for doing that sure all right okay
072and this is where we are opening up to public forum so if you haven't had a chance to sign up through the chat to address us you sure can do so and jill do we have anybody signed up yes okay i'd like to say something yeah at our community forum we had a question and it looked like several people had commented on whether we were going to continue or we would allow uh three series critical race thank you critical race terry uh i've done some homework on this myself and my perception of videos and just this board members is that it teaches hate and racism [Music] it's a marxist technique uh it can be found in the chinese cultural revolution um it works with ideology methodology and vocabulary where they in china did a press
073uh by class critical race theory works on um race as being the definition of opposed to class that critique in this part of cancel culture is the same vocabulary as wokeness [Music] your level of wokeness determines your level to succeed and that is judged by um party leader in china and i would expect that that's um by women's leaders whatever that means so john i'm gonna just pause for a second here is this related to the the recruitment process or is this related to this is related to the question came up yeah critical race theory i don't know how many people are aware of what critical race theory is i i took this opportunity to put out what my perspective is on critical race theory it's by no means a 360 degree review this is
074john's perception if it's inappropriate that i go on please let me know what i want i'm just i'm just wondering what what a relevance it has for the relevance i thought was that the community the questions he's asking the question and the people that the interviewees made their response but they don't know that the [Music] i don't well i know that most people that i'm talking to are asking me what is critical reasoning yeah and so that's why i'm putting this out the last piece that i had on that was that critical race theory is racist it's divisive and it's destructive again that's john conklin's on critical race theory and um that's the only one and i would say that i am not aware that it is part of any of our curriculum and manageable
075school district so it is not part of our curriculum here in our schools i'm not going to tell anybody all right thank you john anybody else on the word number report anybody signed up yet joe okay all right so since nobody's spoken to us we can officially close the budget hearing and move on to our action items in our agenda so the classified association agreement it's in our packets and if we're supportive we can somebody can make a motion to approve the agreement between manage the school district and the managerial classified employees association the agreement between those two entities a second trace of seconds all right john moves three seconds a discussion favor and then student investment account application how many pages is this thing this is the same the same time you see it
076earlier in the year this is the official uh agenda for the official approval of funds so we need to approve the application somebody want to make a motion to approve the application for our student investment account i know that we approve the application for the student investment account all right second second any discussion this is just so that we can move this thing forward yes i want to i want to reiterate my thanks to those that have worked on this application because it's cumbersome any other discussion all in favor right and then district budget for 2021-22 we have a script in front of us i asked for it because it's worthy so um we had resolved that the board of directors of the manageal school district number 91 hereby adopt the budget for fiscal year
077and the sum of 13 million 948 409 is now on file in the district administrator promise so someone then makes a motion so i moved to adopt the budget for fiscal year 2021-22 in the sum of 13 million 948 i do want to thank the budget committee including our community members for their work and helping us this year so any other discussion all in favor wait next one it resolved that the amounts for the fiscal year beginning july 1st after the purposes shown below are hereby appropriated so then you need a motion this one i know uh motion any discussion any other discussion all in favor aye all right and then um this allows us to text so so they resolve that the school board the manual school district number 91 hereby imposes taxes provided
078for in the adopted budget at the rate of 4.6268 per 100 thousand per 1 000 of assessed value for operations and in the amount of 923 287 for bonds and that these taxes are hereby imposed and categorized for the tax year 2021-22 upon the assessed value of all taxable property within the district okay i moved to impose taxes provided for in the adopted budget at the rate of 4.6268 per thousand dollars of assessed value for operations and in the amount of nine hundred twenty three thousand two hundred eighty seven dollars for bonds for tax year twenty twenty one twenty twenty two upon the assessed value of all tactical property within the district a second all right move this second in a discussion hi all right we have a budget for next year moving on to
079adopting the world language curriculum which we were presented last month so if somebody wants to make a motion throughout the world languages curriculum i know that we adopt the world all right next one is adopting the elementary sex abuse prevention curriculum which again was connected to this last board meeting so somebody wants to make a motion i do want to just remind everyone that there is an opt-out option for families when we have certain curriculums being okay [Music] and then the comprehensive counseling framework which we heard about tonight um and it's in our packet so they're looking for our adoption of this curriculum of this framework and we could read up the comprehensive counseling framework second in any discussion all in favor thank you moving on to discussion items so terry do you want to
080take it away from the professional development calendar yes i'll pull it up erica has had her button her fingers on these buttons so she's going to join us again and give you a quick break sure i will be happy to address this so uh we've actually already started a lot of this work um this spring around equity um and really just trying to come to some common language around equity which really relates to um what's been known as all students belong and the language is going to be changing to every student belongs which is a policy that you as a board have adopted and it also relates to house bill 3499 so we've started that work it also connects to some of the work that um our stem i would say some of our staff
081have been engaging in with the ren which is our regional educator network so you're not going to see that on here but that is some work that a few of our staff have actually been doing and they're getting they're going to be doing that on their own time with is the south coast esd and willama esd um and that also has to do with equity work and how can we be working with our communities um of color so that um we can make sure that we are building relationships and that they're equally represented and feel welcome in our district um i'd be happy to talk more about that maybe at another another board meeting if you guys have more questions um when i oh can you go back up a little bit jill okay so
082in august um we our social emotional curriculum is uh we're on boarding the elementary school so their year one um implementation is going to be um a half day training and then we have a couple different things going on we have year two of advisory and then year one of leadership so there's going to be kind of a smaller group but secondary doing leadership but the second year for advisory um i will be working with the sped team just school by school to um just kind of go to each of their buildings to kind of do a little q a on special education um secondary and elementary we're really going to be focused on academic language um haven't nailed down all of the dates throughout the year but we will start in september for those
083um with trillium we have a contract with them for three dates for continuing the trauma-informed care that's actually paid out of the staff wellness grant and the feedback from staff was really around adverse childhood experiences secondary trauma and so doing a deeper dive into those and so how can we blend onboarding new staff with maybe diving deeper into some of the um like problem solving with specific students perhaps on those um and then if you want to scroll up the rest of this is really looking at emily and i mapped out more of the equity work and then our character strong pieces because i needed to get those on the calendar for them but if you scroll to the bottom things left to really nail the dates down on is any avid work that we're
084going to do qpr which is our suic part of our suicide prevention plan every three years we do um in person or in this case via zoom and so people do it online and through safe schools but then we do the two hour training or hour and a half um so we offer that i need to get that scheduled and then get any ell trainings which um like i said we're going to do academic language and literacy and just making sure that everything's really cohesive um and while this looks like a really long list they all really blend together and are connected to the same same goals that we're all that we're all working on so any questions thank you erica another reminder of bringing back our regular calendar with the early releases of light
085stars i just want to say i really like how you have been you're looking at this holistically and comprehensively with with important i guess lenses or focus that align with with other work we're doing so i just i commend it and i think it to me it looks great thank you there's as you can see there's still more work to do and but i think this kind of goes back to i think it was two meetings ago being like these are the five things that we're going to focus on right so we're really focused and purposeful but like troy said it was like man those dates went really fast trying to do the work um it's all important you know so but how can we really narrow and and really being like you said like
086focused right so what is this tied to because if it's not tied to that then it's it and i'm saying it isn't important but we have to prioritize same thing any other questions or comments all right moving on strategic plan revisions i think this is a a placeholder on the agenda for us to keep it in mind um likely with a new superintendent coming on board in july we will start this work um early maybe summer fall and our long-range facility planning committee kicked off last week we've got strategic stuff happening in our district so it's it's good and does anybody object if we don't come up with any strategies for updating our strategic plan tonight and leave it until july august okay thank you all right for the oregon school board association promise scholarship
087theresa has an update for us and reports i had the honor of presenting these at severe awards night obviously that was june and we give out two of them each one was for the in the amount of 1250 that for the student to use it their choice their discretion one of them was a leadership scholarship and that one went to elizabeth cantu or most people call her ellie and um dale shared this information with me from teachers because if there's a staff at the high school that select these they will nominate and then they vote on them and decide on the finalists so for ellie a staff member member writes that ellie is one of the brightest and most well-rounded students i've had the pleasure to teach she consistently takes all the hardest ap college
088credit and honors classes all while playing three sports and being involved in multiple extracurricular activities and clubs she has maintained a 4.0 is an outstanding student and even better kinder person she yeah she was like when she came out she would just look like almost in shock it was pretty cool okay and the other scholarship um it was for someone who had a lot of challenges or obstacles and that they overcame and were still successful and this one went to um dalia lopez lopez a staff member member wrote that dahlia has faced many challenges in many aspects of her life while continuing to push herself academically and work hard to achieve success another well well deserving candidate excellent positive report thank you teresa and and for those who might not be aware we have this
089money because through the osba a ford can commit to doing board development work with um osba's support and for that work we were provided five thousand dollars to award in scholarship money and this happened not this last year but the year before and we decided to split the money and divide it amongst four students over two years and so this is the remainder of that of that funding from ospa so well done board and congratulations to ellie and valia yes yay anything else on that board numbers all right board meeting location so i asked for this to be on the agenda um because currently we're not allowing for public to be in the room with us except for special invitation by special invitation only um and um i would say that once our restrictions for
090coded are lifted we we are in a great position to continue meeting in person and also allowing people to participate over zoom um never in my seven years on the board have i seen as much public participation as i have this year um and and i've seen that in other public entities as well where public participation really has increased because we've made it much more accessible by offering the zoom option um so a question for troy is what is the capacity for audience in this room once we're back to not having to restrict without the restrictions i think we can comfortably get 20 people in here sitting up next to each other including all of us and admin to attend and my thought is it's rare i mean that we have much more interest than
091that um and when we have had more interest in that we have scheduled the meeting in a larger location when we know we're expecting more people so i wanted to have it on the agenda um because we were asked about it and um and i thought it was time to talk about it and so what do you guys think i think i think that having the superintendent interviews and the participation that happened i think that put a ground swell into we want to be at more meetings and we want to be and you say well you can be there on tv i mean how much better can it get and no personally i want to be there and i'm that's what i'm getting i see this being a very small window but that's that's very
092alive right now okay so people are expressing an interest in being delivering with us what other opinions and i get what john's saying too um or maybe it's an option of i mean if we have them here but if people if there's a sign of it you'll say i want to be there in person i want to be there and we got to be like oh we do need to have it in another place and we have that option that might be another way of i think that's what in essence this is going to engender if you need to be at the high school that we need to be outside of the state i don't know but i think we found out what we've been doing here you might want to move to the gym
093or somewhere like that for a few months until you know until people stop coming because things are going smoothly or until you know we've at least down to it to a low enough number that could fit in here i guess i really we need to let people back in in person and if it means we have to move for a few months i could probably shoot it yeah and and another thought is i doubt i doubt this summer well i could be wrong but i doubt the summer is going to attract a bunch of people to want to monitor our board meetings i mean again i would say maybe not july but i could see possibly august when they're finding out yeah so more of how things are going you may have more people at
094that time on another consideration on that might be that i perceive that with the new superintendent coming in there's going to be a desire to get eyes on and yeah yeah that's a good point really just that yeah so curious um jill and try what other spaces are convenient for setting up with i think the libraries are the best and part of the middle school in the high school both are very comedy it's just a matter of setting it up and and the system is mobile so we can take it everywhere with the library as a classroom at the high school is it still convenient enough to set that up yeah because their tables are spaced apart anyway so it was really easy to set up okay we didn't have to move any of their
095belongings oh that's good tables yeah so what what do you guys think should we try it and like for the next few meetings i think at least the next few years yeah and as long as we continue to have more than like say 10 community members because that's about what we could have otherwise we continue to do it if it starts to dwindle and we've only got you know four or five people coming then we can probably come back to here as for having this school working so um which space do you think is easiest [Music] well then yeah middle school is that is that pretty convenient it's like so the musical library [Music] that high school has an elevator [Music] no no but i would love to see 15 to 20 people at every
096meeting you know yeah but also continue with the zoom master at least that you know that they're listening in and they can you know if that's possible i really [Music] yeah and for those of us on the board if we're out of town we can still participate yeah and speaking of so john raised the great point of having a spanish language interpreter available at our board meetings and is that something we can arrange yeah that's great yeah that was a great idea yeah anything else on location of our meetings and i i can't say it for sure because i'm not oj i'm not the governor but boy i'm thinking by july we should be able to have the public back in the room with us i'm thinking so we'll see we'll see fingers crossed so
097thank you for raising that question and thank you board for a good discussion um the next one i have is onboarding new board members um and this is actually kind of a combo of onboarding new board members and board superintendent work together right so come july we're going to have two new board members and a new superintendent and i've been in contact with osba and they um they are ready to support us by having some work sessions on on our calendar and they have availability the week of july 20 the last week of july which is july 26th so i will be in communication with everyone to get that scheduled and another plan is to provide our new board members with just some overview type materials that can give them a bit of a head
098start before the next meeting um there are board protocols or operating rules that we've agreed to our policies that talk about board responsibilities and whatnot so if you think of anything that you want me to put in that packet and i i'm sure um administrative staff kind of might already have something together but if you have ideas of what else to share with our new board members let me know a thought i had for our consideration as well is that maybe we can have a pairing up of the board members with one of us as kind of a casual mentorship or a go-to person for questions and it could be that we um just ask ask andrea mark if they have a preference of who they would like that to be um and if not
099we can work through that so those are some of my ideas and i'm just really encouraging open communication um because we we work so well together and we're very collaborative group and we're respectful of one another and that tone and that culture is going to continue so as much as we can do to encourage that and provide our new board members with you know information to make it a more comfortable onboarding experience because it's a it's a different world when you're sitting on this side of the table you don't know until you're here so we're gonna do what we can to support you and and i know rachel um has ideas as well um so any any questions or comments on that [Music] and speaking of i know rachel will be reaching out to all
100of the board members individually um he eventually she's been doing a lot of work with troy on um meeting people in the community meeting people within the district and so um come july when she's officially working for us and we're paying her for her work she'll hit the ground running and reaching out to each board member to make sure we can connect individually all right anything else on onboarding new members okay previewing our july agenda and remember typically our july agenda isn't a very heavy agenda um there is some work to be done and i think the main thing is to swear in our two new board members and and see rachel in action and a board meeting so um troy was kind enough to draft um just a start of an agenda for us
101because rachel the timing of rachel's hiring um is pretty tight between her first day and when our foreign meeting is so thank you troy for doing that does the board have do you see troy that uh with any luck we're going to be doing the agreement of the contract with for the teachers is that going to be a board item it's it's too far out to tell you yeah i think yeah um remember that in our july meeting we will elect a new chair and a new vice chair so be mindful of who that might be um i'm just looking at what troy's putting in yeah school board operating protocol again we'll review that together just so we can start reminding one another of expectations yeah so and as always and andrea for your awareness
102and mark if you want something added to the agenda you just need to ask me currently as the board chair so whoever the board chair is works with the superintendent to build the agenda that's one of the four churches yes a week in advance yes yes so always there's room and then during the meeting there's the opportunity to add an agenda item um at the approval of the agenda process so anyway you'll want to get something on the um the training and stuff in either your discussion or your actions yeah hopefully the action so that you can move forward good idea any other input on the agenda for july so you can all expect to hear back from me we'll hear from me about scheduling our first work session in july with osp as well
103anything else i just want to say one last time thank you rod thank you so much and thank you troy so much it's so weird that this is our last meeting together thank you very much i would like to add one little uh message erica followed up she said that she look at her numbers they actually have 100 that are signed up for summer school and and digital 76 were signed up for me oh my gosh that is incredible wow that's awesome and on that positive note meeting adjourned
