003Michelle Ramos I am a parent and I am with Mapleton here and Adam's 14 team um I'll leave my name is Renee Lovato I'm on the Adams 14 School Board Molina uh I'm Lucy Molina and I'm also on the Adams 14 School Board gracias my name is great thank you so much um again thank you for taking the time to join us today um I'd also uh Sue would you like to introduce yourself and kind of give a an introductory thank you very much uh good afternoon boards members and I guess I'm sue Kim I'm with the Attorney General's office I've been asked to provide legal assistance to this committee uh as a separate body um when called upon I had two basic foundational bits that I just wanted to share if that's all right
004to do that here I won't take more than a minute or so oh yes of course go ahead okay thank you so very nice to see you all I just wanted to uh one uh make a quick uh nod to my role generally I've been assigned to this committee and it's a pleasure to meet you here today I understand this is a new committee with its own unique steps under the law and so my role as I see it will be to help navigate the various steps and stages of that process and also I do have experience with other boards and commissions in this state and there is a rather set process that we can call upon as needed uh I see that you have your agenda set for today including one action item of
005a vote and then other important discussion so until that vote at which point I can Focus some of my comments to the chair I'm hoping to help with any legal issues that you all have or that I can help you identify and we'll hope that on a future agenda at a future meeting we can get a little bit more into detail about what that might entail but for today you may see me interjecting and just trying to Aid the process generally with the agenda that's been set for this committee and then from there it should take a little bit more shape so thank you um for the opportunity to address you all this morning and uh again for today I'll focus on trying to help you move through the agenda with the short time that
006has been allocated thank you great thank you so much um yes this is new Waters so I'm very appreciative that we have um on board to kind of guide us through this process um I don't have the agenda other than we need to elect a a chair Vice chair and a secretary is that correct that is the requirement of Law And for those who can access the agenda online it is uh because we've gone through agenda 1.1 um with the interpretation the 1.2 of the brief introduction of committee members who are now on item 1.3 um would it be helpful to jump in and make a couple of suggestions here on how to proceed um sure yeah I I um I think foreign if it goes like any other board do we just request a
007nomination for each position I think that would be just fine there's no such rule or procedure here but I think if the purpose is in the spirit of making sure that anyone who is interested in serving as chair of Vice chair or secretary that their names come forward if you want to volunteer yourself or nominate another board member I think any of those would be acceptable if there are no volunteers we can just go through the role um however you wish to do it we are kind of um in the rudderless uh bit so if everyone is okay with that process and uh Committee Member Lovato leading that discussion that is what I propose Miss Kim and miss libado this is Cameron wise media producer for Adams 14. um pardoned the um Interruption here I

017um I I would open the floor up to any discussion um as to how we go about that foreign I would recommend a third party thank you I agree um I think if you guys are okay with it um you can charge me or the committee chair or vice chair and secretary to bring forward some uh names to our next meeting if that's okay um I think there's a lot more that goes along with that um as far as uh procurement issues like I'm not sure if this is something Adam's 14 would have to pay for and get reimbursed from CDE or CDE would um outright help with securing a facilitator and then if so um do we follow those procurement procedures or the districts there there's just some questions around that which I think
018can be part of that um finding out process um and then finally I think really quick is uh Miss Kim if you don't mind helping with timelines like I'm not sure um if there are deadlines like I I know this was the big one was to bring forward the committee by uh within 30 days but I'm not sure um as to a future deadlines yes uh there are a number that will apply and it will be a multiple step process and I'm glad to report at this point that uh the chair can work on the next agenda for the next meeting the setting I think will have to be just sorted out in terms of how and who but I do recommend that a staff person and a non-board member do that because of some
019of the overlapping open meetings issues and stuff in the spirit of just making sure that we find the right place to have those uh functions filled for the time being that would be my recommendation and I'm happy to consult um in building that agenda but as you know from the public process this is function of government this committee is acting for a specific purpose and transparency and notice of its meetings are of very high importance as the committee goes about its business so um I do not believe that there is a set deadline for the next meeting and I think it would just be noticed and scheduled in due course timing being of course a little sensitive in the school area at various times of the year so yeah especially now with Thanksgiving break and
020um finals and Christmas break coming up um we have one digital hand up this is Cameron wise we have a digital hand up it is um superintendent gadowski thank you so much Mr mccrudowski Madam chair uh I would look to you to survey folks and see what dates and times might work uh obviously a large group I just want to express my interest in uh our next meeting being in person if it can be and ideally in Adam's 14 so that we're within the community uh when we have our next meeting great suggestion and I think um I had spoke with Miss Kim earlier and I think because um it is greatly impacting Adams 14 we would love to invite you all um to come to our schools and and meet in person there and
021provide dinner so um we have the lovely support of Miss Ramona Lewis and Cameron and our Communications team so I'm happy to um connect with Miss Kim and and work with our team to get the next meeting scheduled Madam president if I could just add one thing the legal part is nobody's favorite but it is part and parcel of the committee's charge um so I just note that again the purpose of the committee is still being formulated at this time or the the path through um that all discussions that would be committee business I'm sure has some overlap with other of the conversations you have but uh to please save discussion of committee business for this committee when all the members can be present or a quorum thereof but also for the public to be
022able to observe so that is what I request for for this point in time and I will be Consulting with the chair on how best to deliver that as a future agenda item okay great thank you um and I think one final um ask is um I know we did talk about uh 106 versus 129 as far as proceeding wise for this committee um and how we move forward so if um it would be okay to get that authorization from the committee for me to um get that information from Miss Kim and in her office uh just in preparation for our next meeting all right well two minutes over hopefully not too bad I apologize for the Fast and Furious nature of this um initial meeting um thank you all again for taking the time
