equity equality and justice and promoting understanding and respect within our diverse community and three is committed to creating a safe and inclusive School environment for its diverse students thank you so much secretary Zubia may I have a motion to approve the proclamation recognizing Native American heritage month so moved thank you the second uh Ramona Rocco Please Mr Amador aye Ms Lovato aye Ms Molina aye Ms Zubia aye thank you um board members any comments I just I'm very proud that we are putting forth this Proclamation um I um have indigenous Roots as do many of our community students um and I just think it's great I think it should happen every day thank you thank you yes thank you next on the agenda is 3.3 um American Education week Proclamation um Proclamation American Education week
November 13th through the 19 2022. whereas American Education week is celebrated every year during the week before Thanksgiving to highlight the importance of education and transforming lives uplifting communities and strengthening our society whereas Adams County school district 14 Adams 14 recognizes its task to equip children with knowledge resources opportunities and values that will strengthen their character and lead to a productive future whereas Adams 14 and the certified teachers associations are using this week to launch a year-long celebration of everything that makes Adams 14 an incredible place to live work and learn whereas schools or Community linchpins bringing together adults and children Educators and volunteers Business Leaders and elected officials in a common goal whereas all public education employees work tirelessly to serve our children and communities with care and professional realism and work together to

roll call please Mr Amador aye Ms Lovato aye Ms Molina aye Ms Zubia aye thank you board member uh I can't speak this evening board members any comments I just want to um publicly thank all our educators including our certified and classified staff everyone who takes the time to educate our students to the best of their abilities um it's just it's an amazing community and I just am very grateful for those folks that we have that have the heart to work with us and work with our kids so thank you thank you I'm very excited that we got to approve this Proclamation this evening I've had the honor of working with a CTA and outstanding members of our community and I think this is going to be a great way to kick off lots of
fun activities to um recognize education and it's the great things that are happening in the district as well as bring our community together so I'm excited for all that's coming yeah um next on the agenda is 4.1 superintendent laria's update um Dr Lauria would you take it from here yes thank you madam president members of the board I have a few updates today we do have a couple of videos and I'm going to ask for them to be shown at the end of the update so that we can um have actually Dr Ruby here um last month we had during our study session an update with the academies and there were it was a great discussion lots of questions um so we committed to Bringing on a monthly basis um quick updates of the progress
that we are making at the the account with the academies of the two high schools I am very excited about the work Dr Ruby is actually championing that work and he's helping us with um just just be that that champion for this huge Endeavor at the schools he meets regularly with connect ed the organization that is supporting us he is basically every single day at the high schools I'm supporting with this work so um Dr Ruby thank you for being here Dr Ruby if you can introduce yourself for the record and then you can take it off thank you thank you um I wish I was a doctor but I'm not I'm Mr Ruby um CTE that's okay CTE director um so um and also I'm taking the lead on our work towards academies so
Madam president members of the board Dr Laria thank you for allowing me to address you tonight with an update to the academies at Adams City High School and Leicester Arnold High School tomorrow November 9th we will hold our monthly District leadership team we are going to be holding the next few virtually to continue our process in planning the Academies tomorrow we will focus on connected element D3 which is focuses on high quality learning and teaching and each month when we address these elements what we're doing is they have a rubric I know that was something that we talked about last month is how we're measuring ourselves so these rubrics we're pre-assessing basically where we're at so we know the work we need to do and those rubrics we will use to as we build the
academies and Beyond to hold ourselves accountable so I know that was one of the questions that came up last time we also have a meeting uh scheduled tomorrow afternoon with a connected scheduling expert that will Begin work with the school teams to create a master schedule that meets the needs of future academies this will be invaluable as we move forward with an overall plan so tomorrow it's a one and to one and a half hour meeting and she's basically going to interview the key people at this one's just for Adam's City and then we'll do step one for Lester Arnold so that she can get a good idea of where we're at now and where we need to go so she can go process that and then come back and offer suggestions to the team
survey results have come in regarding the graduate profile we've only we had 29 respondents and I'm going to be happy that 29 respondents and we'll get more feedback as we go 55 of those were parents which I was happy to hear about um and 17 were community members so we were reaching out of those 29 most of them were outside of our staff overwhelmingly the respondents felt the components of The Graduate profile were very important in preparing our students for the future and I'd use that language because that was the language that we used in the survey out of the each question as I looked there was only one to two who scored it less than very important so I thought that was a positive push in that direction next steps are to make the
language changes that were suggested by you the board members and committees that we've come along the way design a visually appealing graduate profile that reflects the Adams 14 Community and then share with the board and all constituents for final input and in a little bit I'll tell you how we're going to do that but I also want to address that the survey results and feedback also came in about the academy themes and the strands in this survey we had 62 respondents where 69 percent of the respondents were parents and community members the survey asked specifically for each Academy and strand for each Academy theme please indicate if you think a career pathway would be relevant for student and their future and there was varying degrees they could list once again the majority of the respondents
felt that the strands in each Academy were relevant for students and their future respondents offered other suggestions of strands some which we talked about such as a teacher at Cadet account a teacher Academy which we are moving forward with and then some of the other some other ones that as I process through them I was able to to know that either it's something that is related to one of the strands we have or we will be setting students up that post high school they could easily enter that career although I'm not the sole person who makes that decision so the team will be looking through all those comments and then we will be processing that as as part of that leadership team as well okay two tentative dates are being explored for Community forums to
share all survey and data results I'm looking to host those at the the middle schools and the reason why is because the middle school students are the ones who will be entering the academies next year and then from them on out that we're looking at December 15th and January 12th the team will also present to DAC on December 14th so we can get some feedback from that group as well and we'll continue to collect feedback and plan to look for final approval of those academies strands themes and the grad profile in January mid-January because we got to get moving on registration real quick here and all those and along with these efforts I'm in the process of creating a web page that will act will be accessed through the district and High School web pages
that continue to provide updates and answers to frequently asked questions about the academies and so that way the stuff that I'm going to compile and share with you will also be made to the public I plan to have this completed of course they'll be ongoing but started before winter break a team including principal de Guero visited a big picture High School in Mapleton we are planning to visit two other high schools that have programs that combine alternative education in a career exploration the team is looking for the best fit for our students at Adams 14. we'll provide an update after we have had the chance to visit the other programs and summarize our findings we just don't want to look at one we want to see what else is out there and what is best
for the students finally District leadership tntp and connect Ed met last week to align professional development which was another one of the items that you brought up with us to make sure that teachers have what they need to best educate our students in the academies and all classrooms across the district we found a lot of alignment in what the work we're doing and the group these groups of leaders will meet monthly now to continue to ensure that professional learning is aligned while the work is ongoing I welcome and appreciate your continued support and suggestions and so I was wondering if there's any current questions at this time that I can take forth to the team as we move forward members here I do have a question you had briefly mentioned that back to school registration
is nearing sooner than later my understanding or my experience has been that usually forms and everything have to be in around February for the registration process and I'm just curious if that's too short of a timeline to get a lot of the stuff that you guys are going to need ready by that deadline date so that your incoming freshmen right will have that opportunity to see what it looks like or next year so as a I I think I addressed this last month but maybe not so I'll I'll bring it up again um our freshmen are going to go through a wheel next fall where they will go through a four-week session which each with each of the four academies through uh interactive exciting elective but it's not really you know it'll be the academy
and then they'll make their choice the next December for the following spring semester and that's when we'll officially start the academies although they'll get a taste of everything next fall so yes it would be rushed if we weren't doing that and so that's why we purposely plan that because we just didn't think we could get students everything they needed in our current timeline yeah or our old timeline this is our new one this is the new one yeah no I'm just um wondering I guess I should be more specific so the registration process is that going to remain the same um even though it's uh I'm just talking about the actual registration packet will there be information ready to go out and those packets in time not I get that all of that is going
to happen afterwards I'm more worried about having like the actual tangible paperwork ready to go um when it usually um is that time frame around February March so that people have an opportunity to read through it and get all the information they need before they sign up their kids in our plan yes we're also moving the freshman orientation night which is the eighth grade orientation night that was I think it was in April last year that will be occurring in January February we'll have the website ready to go we'll have paperwork ready to go and even though they won't have to choose their Academy we'll have all the information about the academies at least at the very minimum the outline of it um so if we have to keep specifying but I have a good
feeling that we'll have a lot of that taken care of definitely for parents by registration time I've been working on it under you know from the back side just in case you know if we have to make changes we can make changes but we're working forward as if so we're ready okay it was mainly that tactical piece I I get all the other part I just I'm worried because it always sneaks up on you and by the time you realize your register is asking for all the forms then you have to put all the forms together and packets together and I just want to make sure that the information is out there so that families realize what's coming down the pike for the the following school year and that's one of the reason why we're
working with the expert from tntp2 is she has a checklists and protocols and and she hasn't shared them all with me she's just told me that that's what she has for us so that anything that especially if we're making some major changes in schedule which we don't know yet I mean we don't know exactly where we're going with it but she has processes and protocols for us to take back to the staff to prepare them right yeah and don't forget to add some time for the translation of all of those materials because that always takes a while too so thank you thank you appreciate it great presentation I think um one of the questions I have is um student input can you talk a little bit about um other than survey like are you doing
anything to obtain direct student feedback about the proposed academies and and especially like the middle schoolers that are going to be able to enroll that is one of my agenda items for our meeting tomorrow so I should be able to report back to you next time about um what how we're going to collect student input but uh the whole team we're going to discuss that and come up with the plan tomorrow during that meeting Madam president members of the board if I may jump in as well um throughout the process also um in through the teachers the input has been in there from students there has been surveys that went out to all students um and we started this process um July yes July right uh so in the Summer where all students were um
some surveys also to start getting their inputs uh and uh through the teachers also getting the input from the students so that the teachers can have discussions with with the children we will continue that um also to add a little bit to director zubia's question also I asked the team to to have parent nights at the middle schools um because the one thing that is important for for me to reiterate um as far as you know how we move forward with this uh information will be given but the parents and the students do not need to make a choice in you know favor March of what Academy their child will go to this will be the starting year so that is the will the first semester where all children um as ninth grade ninth graders
will have the opportunity to experience a little bit of what each one of the academies feels like looks like uh in in the taste of it so that they by December can make a choice and then finish that ninth grade second semester you know starting finished ninth grade now in the academy by that time those students will also be leaders and at that fall then they're going to be also presenting to the um in uh eighth graders at that time which are now our seventh graders at the Academy so the second group that is going into academies in two years will be able now to make those choices before they go into ninth grade right so this is a loop year almost they're gonna get an experience of um what the academies are we're working
also on summer projects summer camps where the students can come in 8th graders going into ninth grade can experience a little bit more of what those academies are the the whole idea is these are going to be Hands-On experiences for kids uh practical things for kids so that they can get a taste of what each one will will look like but students do not have to make a choice until December this first time around so just adding a little bit more clarity on that and ensuring in um in affirming that student input has been ongoing and received and we're planning now on a second phase on on student in input and the fun part as soon as we finally decide on these I have nine hundred thousand dollars to spend on equipment to get all
these academies amazing and yes congratulations we got our funding yesterday and we have to get it spent by July so I'm pushing that along too just so we can have the equipment we need for each of these academies in place for students so congratulations on that we should celebrate that at our next meeting um I don't know if everybody knows but we got the rise grounds um awarded to us and um yeah there's a lot to share a little bit of that yeah oh and I'll continue well I'll share more when uh once we get these solidified I'll start sharing what we're buying because that's the yeah it'll be nice for the community and you all to know uh what equipment we're putting in place for to make these work for students so so December
we're going to bring another update so if there's any question that comes even after today you can send them my way so I can make sure that we address those during the updates or if you hear from family or constituents you let us know let me know and then we'll make sure that we have that such as exciting work a lot of work so thank you all for everything that you do I just thank you Dr uh Lauria and to the staff for promptly answering some of the concerns and questions and working fast thank you I like I love what I'm doing so I appreciate it thank you Mr Ruby thank you did you have other updates or is it okay yes I actually have one more I'm going to be very quick um um
I would do one and it was mentioned by Mr Ruby I do want to bring um an update on the academies the teaching academies um I I am not sure if Mr makana I think that they're we're trying uh to put him on the screen so that he can share very briefly a couple of updates we are very excited about this program we have been working with the University of Denver one of the requests from the staff from the students from the board in one of our commitments is to build our own in every area of the community right of the organization so in all jobs in all departments we want to start building our own and that includes teachers um so uh Mr makana and I also know Nathan is uh back there so
if he cannot jump in I don't know Nathan if you can give an update on behalf of Dr McKenna um working with the University of Denver we're able to start a cohort as soon as January for our students there has been there are 15 or 5 oh 15 right one five 15 slots right now that have been confirmed through the University of Denver so uh Dr makana and Nathan working very um you know diligently actually uh working diligently with the university to ensure all that is in place offering it to students through concurrent enrollment through the CTE and Mr Ruby with principal Garcia and also principal de Aguero so that we can offer to both schools um with the um and Cameron give me a thumbs up and if not I can keep um a
thumbs up when Dr McKenna is ready but if not I can just continue sharing and if I miss anything Nathan just let me know or jump in uh each credit um the cost for the students for any students go to the University of Denver to get credits to become a teacher is approximately three hundred dollars we have a um an agreement with them so it's actually coming down to 79 that the school district will pay for the students so it's free of all costs to students but also and I see the thumbs up um also through Apple company Apple actually they are also providing computers for the students all materials um so it's going to be a zero cost to the students and these are our own students our very own graduates that will be
able to start working on their degrees before they leave us and then we'll continue supporting them so that they can come back when when they are um teachers so Dr makana makana I was trying to share any you know everything that I remembered I'm I hope that you are listening uh to the update so that you can add anything that I missed assistant teaching in first Day Out thank you Dr McKenna so I don't know if there's any questions I just needed to share that uh because I think it's amazing amazing that we've we've been wanting to do this I remember um I have to give a shout out to Mr cook Lanny cook he wrote um fingernails on the chalkboard which is a great book and back in the 80s and 90s we were
talking about creating grow your own programs like this and it's just such an honor to see it come to fruition from the great work of our of the team that you put together so thank you all yes yeah well thank you we're very excited about that in um in just very briefly Madam president if I take two more minutes um because I do want to shout out the instructional work and the work on academics that is happening every single day in our schools we hear a lot of noise out there but I do want to share and reassure us the board of the district but also everybody here listening that we continue working diligently to ensuring that all of our students in every single classroom have a have the opportunities that they deserve and have
a high quality instruction our principals and teachers are working very very hard um not even mentioning the work that is happening here in central office long nights we started the day at seven o'clock in the morning visiting schools and here they are supporting the work so I just want to mention a couple um I want to shout out principal Hirsch at Central uh this week we had the last week actually Thursday it feels like this morning we had principals meetings and we're having these principles meetings in at schools so part of the print part of the learning together is visiting classrooms and using that classroom as a learning lab so we were able to see principal Hirsch in the work that the school is doing all the teachers are doing showcasing what it looks to
lead a school with a strong culture um we still have a lot of work to do everywhere but it's very exciting to see the work that is happening at Central um I also want to shout out the instructional leadership teams at Rosio Elementary in Dupont they are taking plcs to the next level and really focusing with their teachers on looking at work samples internalizing the lessons practicing coming together during the professional learning communities on a weekly basis for the teachers and in analyzing student work not only test scores assessments but the actual student work to know or to determine what are the best next steps for our students all this is focusing on the structure of these student ambassadors that is helping the teachers and the administrators and central office narrow and getting really good
at monitoring students and how they respond to instruction so that that's a work that we're doing in every school but I want a particular shout out those two schools this week uh and lastly I want to shout out Dupont Hanson Elementary's Monaco camp and Rose seal for um approaching our attendance goal we are shooting in in working hard for 95 percent of daily attendance of our students so for all the parents listening out there for all the teachers it is important for us to continue supporting students and encouraging students to come every day because we can work and change instruction but if our students are not in school you know there's little um that we can or or Reach Out is limited so all these schools are over 90 now which is actually uh extremely
good uh it's in progress from what we have had last year but we will continue supporting our schools and pushing and encouraging uh for 95 attendance in every single classroom um in every single school so those are my updates and we'll continue bringing also Snippets of the instructional work that the different schools are doing on a on a daily basis moving forward such amazing work again yes thank you I'm um excited for elementary schools and I would like to give a shout out to our Communications team because I've seen tons of little snippets on social media of videos encouraging attendance and um just just all the things that you're doing to bring that up that's that's awesome so thank you yes those are my updates I know I mentioned a couple of videos but those
are not ready to be shown so we'll bring them back next time thank you okay that sounds good um colleagues any other questions or comments great thank you so much for that great update um next on the agendas audience comments did we have any Ramona okay so we will get through there next on our agenda are consent items uh may I have a motion to approve the consent agenda item 6.1 through 6.8 motion to approve [Music] um they both did so yeah hi thank you those past anonymously um next on the agenda is 7.1 approval of mou with kids in need of Dentistry um also known as kind for the chopper topper program that's a cute name uh may I have a motion through proof so moved a second thank you any uh discussion before
we move on I just want to say I am so happy to see this um happening again kids that need a Dentistry kind East to do this for our school district for many many many years so I'm just happy that they're back they have a fabulous program and they work with families that need dental care for any of their children so I'm just very appreciative of them working with our district again I agree um I remember gosh it seems like so long ago when they came to present and it sounded like such a neat program and I was so sad to hear that um it was one of those things that went away and I'm so so thankful that you you brought it back so thank you bye 7.2 approval of members of the reorganization
committee for Adams 14. uh pursuant to CRS 2230 106 School Organization planning committee the Adams County school district 14 board of education is required to appoint two members to the school organization planning committee um anyone willing to make a motion or would you like me to I think you should okay I feel a little odd that I would like to move to a point myself and uh Lucy to the school organization planning committee uh Lucy are you would you agree with that okay um are there any further nominations from the group no I agree okay um may I have a motion to close the nomination process then is anybody a motion to close okay thank you um and I went out of order of Ramona do we need to get a Giro call on the
motion to oh yeah you'd have to do the roll call okay um can we first um so we have a motion and a second for the the two nominees that's what we need to do real calm first no you did a motion uh close nominations that you need to vote on so okay so that's what we do real call First okay thank you Ramona maybe we have real call to close the nominations hi thank you and then now we have a motion and a second for the two nominations uh Ramona Luigi please do roll call on that as well hey hi thank you um I do have a little that I'd like to say and then I I would love to open it up to the rest of of the board um the Adams County
school district 14 Board of Education along with the boards of Education of Adams School District 4 or 12 uh five-star um Adams School District 27j and Mapleton public schools will follow all aspects of the school district organization planning process as outlined in CRS 2230 101 through 2231-29 while the Adams 14 School Board objects to this process because of the massive amount of resources and Personnel time the process will take we will follow the statute we believe the resources and Personnel time put towards this reorganization effort would be much better spent in the education of our students the school organization planning committee will consist of two members from each district appointed by their respective boards as well as the district accountability or doc member from each district appointed by the respective Docs the doc representative must
be apparent with a child attending a public school in the affected area all meetings of the committee will be open to the public pursuant to CRS 24 this committee is the beginning of a lengthy Endeavor that Adams 14 will work to defeat by any legal means and to keep items 14 as an operational school district for the students we serve board members would you like to add anything I I guess I just want to make sure that people understand that or that our families mainly our parents and our students realize that we are really going to work diligently um in this legal battle to make sure that our district stays intact and what's nice is knowing that our fellow board members and other folks and our neighboring districts feel the same way so that really
does help I just want to assure people that in the meantime it's still business as usual you know we're still having uh Dr Lauria really focus on the education plans and education of all students and as you heard tonight there's just some wonderful things happening in Adams 14 that sometimes the noise that's out there overshadows what truly is happening inside our schools and just knowing that um yes this is something that we have to do and you know like I said it's it is ridiculous because we're spending so much time and effort and actually money on something that the state board has requested we do and so we have to abide by it because of certain statutes yet here we are making sure that our kids are getting what they need and so I just
want to reiterate that even though this will be happening it's going to take a while and people um there's just a lot of like I said noise that I wish people would um ask flat out what it means and realize that our kids are still getting educated and they're still going to be our linguistically gifted kids in our in our schools and they're still going to be our families in our schools and we just need to as a board um you know continue this good fight with our Council and our superintendent because our kids are worth it our community's worth it so just make sure that everybody knows that that yes this is something that we're being told we have to do it's not something that is by choice but we're going to do it
because um yeah it's part of the good fight that we're in for a while so anyways just I didn't mean to make that a little lengthy but I just wanted to make sure and assure everybody out there that it's still business as usual in Adams 14 for our students and um our teachers and our staff and know that it's going to stay that way um you know as long as we can make it happen so that's all I have thank you thank you anyone else I would just say something it's really short thank you and I'll piggyback on what um my my fellow directors uh shared I just want to tell our families our staff and our students uh that we are not giving up on us that's all I want to say thank you
mm-hmm I agree um I truly believe that public education is a civil rights and our students deserve every ounce that we can give I very much look forward and I'm thankful for our allies in our neighboring districts we have a lot of work and and I'm I'm hopeful that we'll get it done together all right well we are set to go we await our DACA pointy tomorrow and we'll provide updates when we have our first meeting scheduled and move on from there uh next on the agenda um 7.3 election of officers um I would like to move that we table this only because um we are missing Janet this evening um I I know we've had uh individual discussions about this and and I would just feel better if she were here to be part
of that conversation um may I have a second um Romano can you conductor a call please Mr Amador aye Ms Lovato aye Ms Molina aye Ms Zubia aye and perhaps sorry to add to our agenda at the end of the month but maybe we can add it to to the next meeting um do we want to tables I think we can go ahead and and do 7.4 and 7.5 if if you guys are okay with that um only because um so 7.4 is the appointment of our assistant Treasurer um and 7.5 is the appointment of our assistant secretary and I think because they're already doing that work and and um it's not necessarily separate am I correct in that Ramon and um Mr Salazar okay all right well then let's um let's move to 7.4
appointment of assistant Treasurer uh may have a motion to appoint Mr Douglas Moss as the assistant Treasurer so moved thank you second thank you any discussion Ramona roll call please Mr Amador aye Ms Lovato aye Ms Molina aye Ms Zubia aye thank you 7.5 appointment of Miss Ramona Lewis as assistant secretary may I have a motion so moved I'll second um any discussion thank you um Ramona Rocco Please Mr Amador aye Ms Lovato aye Ms Molina aye Ms Zubia aye thank you welcome guys thank you for all your work and we look forward to continuously working with you um next on the agenda is Board of Education new business requests do we have any this evening I oh sorry I do have one um I just like we recognize um staff and other folks it
would be really nice to start recognizing some of our outstanding students that are doing a wonderful workout and um not only in their school but in their communities I think it's a it's something that for a while now I we've kind of been missing but it would be really nice to start recognizing some of the students and maybe even possibly some of the the volunteers that we have because I know part of what we'd like to see is that we'd like to get to have Community involved again in our district and start and I know that there are so many people out there supporting us and supporting our students that it would be really nice to have um just a little recognition of of a few folks once in a while and I in fact
all of them I wish we could do but that's for another conversation before right now I think it would be nice to have some students and at least um and you know maybe because we now have our appointed schools that as school board members that's something that um we could play a part in maybe and have somebody let us know who those students are and maybe we could even go to the school and recognize them I don't know just some ideas yeah so yeah if you could yeah thank you and I do have something after attending the ROTC oh yes Junior ROTC ball this week I would really like us to see if we can put some something away or have them be able to be funded so that our gentleman isn't driving our students
to competitions on his own dime I think that's something we should be able to provide for them especially with the program that we have there and how well it's going I mean they do a lot of stuff they had a competitor this week that took third in state for shooting and I mean we did not you know he was third overall out of what 96 Shooters and first uh at a first-year shooters for 64. so I think we really need the that is a program that we have that we need to show them support as well because we support everything else and there we should be able to support them and give them some funding to be able to to get to these competitions as well and to recognize them once they've gone to the
competition um I wish I had the the student's name because I know I can't remember his name yet um I think it was Jesus but I don't remember oh yeah so um yes I agree thank you any other um I just had one more comment I wanted to um actually uh thank our Commerce City rotary club for um all the fundraising they've been doing to help our students in Adams 14 and because the shoe program is coming up the hearts and souls program I just want to um send them a big shout out because they have been doing a great job of making sure that this program continues every year so those of you who may not know the the rotarians are the ones who purchase the shoes for kids during the holidays we get
a list and then we go from that list and you know and really help out the community so I just wanted to give them a shout out because I now that we have our assignments that we as board members are in different committees I think that it's it would be appropriate for us to give a little bit of an update once in a while as to what we're doing in the Committees and so that would be my update so um I think that um bordered with Communications do you guys want to move on to no totally good do you um want to move on to 8.2 for board member Communications do you guys have any yeah no totally good it's still kind of an action because I I would I agree I would like us
to have a more formal way to update on all of our board assignments um because I know I have a bunch more that I need to bring yes yeah so maybe it is a business item where we can add that to the agenda moving forward okay and I think the other one I would do if you're a parent and you have flyer to check it because they gave away something that they had a recall on uh with all the backpacks that we've been getting emails on the pencil little pencils pouches so just so parents are aware that it was sent out to everyone today I think so if you got it make sure you know you're reading that yes was it also posted on the website I think they post on the webpage flyer I
think we got a bunch of stuff but just in case if the parent's not using those or it doesn't see it just to make sure you check it foreign I think one big announcement or update um we all had the opportunity to attend the ROTC ball this past weekend um always always great to celebrate with our amazing ROTC students and um their um leadership is is just outstanding I know they are recognized by the City of Commerce City last year maybe the year before um but they're just they're leading such a great program and they always keep us updated and we had a amazing time [Music] um did we say how our softball team did our girls softball team because I know they made it not heard no they made it to say I know
that I think they lost on that one I think they lost the first year they approved it so just still they had a great season I think it was a good season for them and I just want to make sure that was something that I know we had approved for them to go on that trip and to say yes they you know they didn't win but congratulations on a great season made it to State yeah we had a great season this year um one quick thing I would like to give an update on as part of our uh American Education week Proclamation I have had the honor of working with a cea and community members um I would like to give a special shout out to Nathan great ideas and just bringing everything together and
I know is a lot of coordination between the district and and the work that the committee is doing so thank you for that um please keep your eyes and ears open the arms around Adams 14 will be kicking off and we're really hoping to pull in community students parents like now is the time to literally Wrap Your Arms Around Adam's 14 so just wanted to throw that out there and Lucy I would like to thank you too you've been to those meetings with me um just just it's so heartwarming we had students there last night and we are doing the right work for the right things all right well um with if there is no further go ahead Mario how is our tournament going for the World Cup oh I know that's starting soon it
is starting soon and as he gets ready I just want to say how sad I am that with my ankle I'm not going to be able to participate because I already have my cleats and everything I was ready to go maybe we can figure out a backpack thing and I'll carry you on my back I'm getting quite good with the scooter so yeah it is coming together we have already designed the player registration system we're gonna be rolling it out pretty soon uh we have been in conversations with the Rapids for use of their fields uh they're pretty booked up for the coming weeks so we we need to find the day when we can have all the fields available that's going to be a function of the number of players that want to participate
and of course we have to watch the the weather as well yeah um initially we were thinking that we were going to uh just start registering players but then after the couple of meetings with the Olympic Committee they have recommended that we extend the registration system also to volunteers so people that not necessarily may want to play but I want to have a a role in the in the event staff this is going to be all kinds of jobs food security parking what have you and our Stellar Regina back right now is designing the uh the opening ceremony so this is going to be very colorful it is in the design phase right now all right thank you um speaking of community activities we did have the um used to be called the nine health
fair but it's called something else now 365 Health 365 Health um I heard turnout was great but maybe we can get an update on that next week and then possibly invite them in to recognize because I know they've done it at our school a number of years in a row and I just think that is such a great resource to our community so I used to be part of that committee for like over 10 years wow um except for this year because I no longer and yeah and that role but um yes they have done a wonderful job in the past so yeah great thank you all right well this concludes the agenda for the meeting our next board meeting is a study session special meeting and Retreat all in one day on Tuesday November
th um so may I have a motion to adjourn motion to adjourn second Ramona roll call please Mr Amador aye slavado aye Ms Molina aye Ms Zubia aye great thank you thank you for joining us and have a great evening everyone meeting is adjourned oh
