and Mr spring for asking me to speak tonight I'm excited to share a few Thoughts with all of you to the class of 2028 as I Was preparing what I wanted to say to you tonight I thought back to my own Middle School experience it seems like a ton of time has passed since I was in this gym at my own promotion 3 years ago but it also seems like just yesterday I remember sitting in one of those chairs and thinking about the next 4 years I remember thinking about high school and activities and wondering who I would become during my time at VHS we all heard the phrase about becoming who you are meant to be and although it is pretty unrealistic to think you will fully know who you are meant to be
while you are still a teenager I have my own opinion on who you should be throughout the next 4 years first of all be motivated you will have more schoolwork work hard and get it done do your best in your activities show up on time put in the extra work be committed it sounds cheesy but working hard actually does make achieving your goals even better choose what you want to do and be motivated to do it well be uncomfortable when I asked my friends that just graduated what advice they would give you this was the thing I heard the most be uncomfortable and try new things almost every high schooler you ask would tell you that some of their favorite High School experiences came from trying something completely out of their comfort zone put yourself
in new situations or take a RIS or talk to someone new and don't wait until your senior year to get braak you'll regret it be involved high school will be more fun if you are involved with activities play a sport do theater join a club do something and stay involved throughout the entire year like I mentioned you should try something new but also keep doing those activities that you know you love and stay involved throughout the entire year it will no longer be just your GR you will meet new people and make new friends who enjoy the same things as you which is really great my freshman year I met a whole new group of people through my activities and it made my year so much better be involved because being uninvolved is boring be
kind this one is a Nob Raider just be kind you will find your group you will find your people you won't be best friends with everyone but you can be kind I have heard you are a great class continue to be good to each other throughout high school and take pride in your class that will help as you make memories together also be kind to your family the next four years will fly by enjoy the time you have at home with your family be yourself I think the beginning of your freshman year can be kind of kind of difficult as you try to find your place that's normal just be sure you don't change your values to fit in with a group of people also don't be scared to ask the upper class questions as
you are learning about high school they will help you be yourself even if it means making changes High School is a fresh start maybe you got in trouble a lot in middle school you can change that be through to what makes you happy and lastly be excited high school is fun ball games are fun even if you are not playing and are in the pet section go to the school dances and try dancing do something different during Power Hour participate in the fundraisers like Powderpuff football and kickball be excited for homecoming and helping your class with the clo basically spend time with others and make the most of your time at VHS be excited to be a wild cat be excited to wear the red and gray congratulations class of 20128 great job on all
you have accomplished individually you have worked hard through the last s several years to get to this moment you have grown through elementary school and middle school and are now ready for the next adventure as you look forward next year I challenge you to be these things as you heart start high school in the fall be motivated be uncomfortable be involved be kind be yourself and be excited for what the future has in store I look forward to seeing you at VHS next fall into seeing you become what you are meant to be thank you [Music] [Applause] [Music] at this time we'll be we will begin recognizing the class of 2028 in the following areas earning all A's all four quarters of 8ighth grade high honor roll for all four quarters with a 3.6 are
