002Allen County she's going to recognize we had four students who completed the asso of Arts degree uh while in high school they graduated last Saturday and then will graduate Burlington High School this Saturday she's going to Rec those students first and then give away the first scholarship of the evening on behalf of alen Community College congratulations to all the seniors um but tonight we get to recognize four special um outstanding students um and as I call your name please set forward to receive your app those students are Johanna carasco Chloe Dule Alana Harris and Emma Krueger [Applause] the next student I'll be recognizing is Kyla lton she will be attending Allen Community College in the fall and has been awarded the presidential scholarship which covers tuition instructional materials and student fees of 18 hours for
003courses beginning August 24th [Applause] congratulations our next scholarship will be presented by Mark and Carol Harris the de unlimited scholarship congratulations to all the 2024 graduates it's nice to be here uh on behalf of this is my wife Carol and Mark Harris we're co-chair of the D unlimit John Redmond and we're going to give away a scholarship to uh one of the students here and congratulations to Hunter ring forn his scholarship from [Applause] unlimited next is the Burlington Ry Club scholarship there are two of them $500 each they go to Katie dugar and Brenda Wilson clay Ral will now present the Coffee County Farm Bureau Association scholarship the Coffee County Farm Bureau Association is a Grassroots agricultural organization that helps uh members through products and services each year we look to award one members one
004family member with a scholarship as long as they are going on to work in agriculture in cocky County this year it's my honor to award a scholarship of $1,000 to miss Brena [Applause] Wilson Mrs grer will now present the Portland G scholarship parle Bell was a long-term Coffee County resident who lived just west of Burlington he is his he and his sister were both quite involved with and concerned about the education of Youth in this area he was a local farmer and became involved in giving away a scholarship each year while he was still living he did this by interviewing various seniors and making his own personal choice one of his last request was to maintain an amount of money for the funding of one or more scholarships annually to a BHS graduate with the

041two people people give your kids all the Avenues to be successful no matter if it's going to the workforce if it's trying to find that right apprenticeship um to find their scholarship these ladies I mean I've been in education for 31 years and I have never worked with such hardworking ladies for your kids and so seniors I'd like for you to stand up and thank these ladies [Applause] tonight we appreciate we appreciate you ladies and I know that you know when they're not and their parents when they're not digging their checkbooks out next year are we're going to be very appreciative of all that you've done for their kids thank you I want to extend my heart help congratulations to every single one of you um for being recognized for if it's something that's curricular
042or if it was a $5,000 scholarship you all are well deserving I also want to express my gratitude once again to their community members because it takes time I watch the for firstand this year watch the foundation committee come in and just hours of of looking at information and so they take all this information very seriously so it's a lot of commitment on our community and what that really shows is that they're committed to your kids and they're not giving up they're saying we want them to come you know go out be successful um so it's a lot of commitment so thank you to the community members and for you your the parents and for the families you've supported these young people and molded them in their academic Journey so you should be very proud
043of the the young people that are sitting here today so thank you for all your support your support your love the encouragement your guidance and generosity are invaluable as our seniors embark on the next chapter of their lives let's continue to support them and encourage them to reach to their for their dreams and strive for excellence in everything that they do seniors the one thing I'm going to tell you tonight the day days that you're sitting in here and know we're missing some tonight Saturday might be one of the last times that you are all together as a class because then anybody sitting in here anytime we have reunions oh yeah yeah I'm G to come yeah yeah I'm going to do this so cherished these last few days together because it really is as
