God indivisible with li andice for all any additions or changes to the agenda none we'll move on to the consent agenda there's a list of approve approval donations I'd like to speak to there were numerous for um reality U which is a program we put on at the schools for the children to get some uh interactions with the way it says it's reality so it's uh it's really good and we have a local a lot of local businesses that contribute to that and the FFA boo bash cattle show there's a lot of a lot of financial support for that too so I'd like to thank those individuals for those contributions motion for cons to approve the agenda as presented as presented you said as amended as amended sorry as presented yes okay so motion approve
consent agenda as presented we can all vote on everyone that's here yeah second motion pass your comments um well I just thought I'd let you I was in this board meeting room um two and a half weeks ago had a meeting with Mr Marshall and lindsy gra regarding the determination of homelessness of my ask you not to speak directly toward what might be seen as a confidentiality okay so um would you like for me to stay for an executive session if you would like to talk to us in generalities about the situation or policy we would love to hear it um an executive session would take a motion between the board members in a second and a vote um there's a spot at the end of the meeting for could be possible this executive session
if you want to stay listen and we can talk and make that decision or you can continue okay um let me just say that there's a lack of communication between what's going on here and um I've been more than transparent and I think that you probably want to talk to me in session um on written Communications move on to Mees October report questions comments for doll report I love the dictionar it was I mean like so exciting for down got them they like I live by the red Squigly L good it's not in your report but I'm just curious how the wild cat way is going I think it's going really well um definitely like there is a big change I feel like at the start of the year um maybe it's like the Hypes
down a little bit um we did have the wild cat SU we did ask to purchase our own so that like because when he makes Poppin visits um it's especially exciting for the younger kids um but I think the staff especially in the start of year I mean they're still doing it like we're still holding expectations but it's number one it's so easy like I've even had Paris say like it's so easy for me to redirect a kid because I can just look at them and say like is that the wild cat way so we really have that just that I think it's actually helped those staff be able to redirect a little bit than like with our visuals if they're in the hallway and kids are kind of messing around they can refer to
those posters um so our CL will be like when we come back from a break we'll kind of reestablish those I mean I think there's a few like our our lunch room one we feel like maybe we need change our bbip a little bit just based on the cues that we give the kids but I think overall it's to see like as these kids as we start with the younger kids and move them up and have those expectations I know like we've really cracked down like lying order and before we come in some of those things and I definitely think our kids are traveling more calmly in the hallways and um so all that's been a plus for sure good that's good I did hear from a parent that said their preschooler was like but
that's not the wild cat way like I know theed well and that's one thing like I do a lot with the kids because we have to we change the pledge and we say like I'm safe I'm respectful and responsible so if kids get question question comments for elementary move on to b m School October report our parent teacher conference is probably is a little bit closer to 80 because we did have some email communication there uh one piece that we were missing this year that we've had years previous years is an opportunity um I will say on Wednesday night instead of getting out of there about 7:45 or 750 we were walking out about 7:15 um which was a huge change uh but time wise so that would probably be one of the updates is
is we're we're closer to 80% uh than the 76% that I had when when I submitted this so I thought that was a pretty good turnout and then of course uh reality U was awesome um we had some married couples tell their spouse that they were going to start taking the bus um because they were out of money and they returned their um the presenters said you know the behavior of our eighth graders there I mean was just phenomenal they did a great job so very thankful for Crystal AC putting that on how many kids do you have doing the industrial Arts um we're about 30 kids about 30 kids happy to see that um I forgot to ask you feedback from staff and parents on the way conferences were restructured this year um the
few parents that I talked to when they came out there like hey we were really on time this time we didn't have to they weren't waiting for three other parents to finish I mean it was we were pretty much on time was probably the biggest change for my building I was going to put that stuff in my next report but I'm happy to talk about it um so like conferences have typically been at the end of October and then Friday they had a little bit more time um you know in between and some work time in there which I think was good I know um there was I actually sent out an email and just asked for some informal feedback Mr Marshall had asked for that as well um you know several liked it I
think a lot of teachers that was positive I know um some teachers said it still made like um you know some people said well we're used to having the Friday off the end of we so it was a long week you know we didn't have that day off right there I don't I mean to me that wasn't that big of a deal but I mean that was one of the comments they said but um I think it was good that we still had really really strong participation so um I think families liked it any questions or comments for the high school I like the student Le conferences myself having two kids up there it's nice to see how they see their successes B off what I see of their successes it's good know's interpretation a
little different with with that that is the positive there's very few parents that have ever said you know we talk about we talk about all this at home so a parent always gets something out of it which is nice and that conversation changes to the spring because that's really go goal oriented towards the classes and towards their individual plan of study and so as we're not don't have parents that come and we're and this is a cap activity so we are finishing up the list of the last few kids to give there so that they do know that an adult cares and that listens and and what what their future is important to us so we're finishing those up um one thing I guess I'll add because we won't I could report next time but
crystal is going to take our sophomores on October 25th to Hutchinson to the career Expo and I I used to work for esac and we did that and it's what is the largest career fair in Kansas they do it at the hutch Fairgrounds and so they have everything from the military helicopters out there to all the big excavation to um you name it and they have all the simulators for all that kind of stuff and then they have the colleges there as well so the sophomores are going to really be overwhelmed um but gives a lot of conversation to come back so we're pretty excited that we have the opportunity through these four years to give him some of that exposure so as they turn around in the spring and go man I really saw
something I want to investigate and see what classes they can take for that so um we're moving and grouping okay there's no other questions for asol to special the biggest thing to report that you guys usually are interested in is Staffing and we are staffed very very well right now um and probably even more importantly than that we've had over 29 new hires this from to start the year or since we've been started and we've only had one of the new hires that has left us which is amazing because usually we would have a lot more and we've only had one current like returning staff member that has left us so we are um staffed very well as well as retaining staff yes sorry we're all wanting to knock on W but um so that's
that's awesome the only certified position um that's currently a whole is theologist position that we had now for two years questions for lizie Craig's educational technology looks like there's questions for us at the end of it some yeah opinions there um yeah um as mentioned in here the uh uh results of a kind of a survey that Mr Marshall and and uh Miss Hess have shared with me were that a lot of school districts are actually providing address so that board members can um keep their personal lives separate from their um board work so um both of those we you know we would be uh interested in uh and it could be as a whole group or individually um as you as you wish um so my experience is I don't need another laptop um
but I do find it kind of cumbersome if someone doesn't want to reach out via email they've got to go on site and there's a couple steps and it comes to me without my personal be some do use their own personal so there's not a definite oneway fits here it's up to you guys and doesn't necessarily have to be an answer now is C indicated uh it could be a discussion for you you know just for us to bring back in November or make a decision now it's up to you what's everybody think I don't need a another laptop yeah I can see the benefit of the the different email address because sometimes stuff gets right and I think originally when I first received an emote I actually went to my junp folder first just
because it came through SE uh you just see those messages yeah I think we can uh definitely talk to the other board members for there any other questions or comments for teolog report move on to report we have had a busy two three weeks here with organizational reports uh there's a bunch of different reports that have to occur called the PBR principal building report the so 66 that's a superintendent organizational report that's a lot of information data gathered by secretaries principles tech department central office staff so again I want to commend everybody for the work that they do and it helps us obviously the student counts and for funding and so on so for so goes to everybody involved in the organizational reports um we have a half day Staff Development coming up here um
on October 16th and then a half day of a um uh just a workday scenario teacher workday because we're at the end of the nine weeks Believe It or Not guys it's a hard to believe we get the quarter B so anyway um there's a whole list of some information here and I kind want to refer back to the Strategic plan work that we've done and this sets right Square in front of me on my desk every report we talked a little bit about that tonight at the ministerial Alliance doesn't matter what meaningful relationships where they occur it can be with a custodian a teacher a building principal can be with a ministerial Alliance uh um representative it can be you name it it just that meaningful conect connection and relationship piece is so important
um you know in September 18th there was a social emotional learning um in service with BHS focused on again social emotional learning pieces uh the middle school they really focused on trusted adult survey to make sure all students know they have an adult in their Corner building in the building to connect with as needed the elementary school is just doing a great job recognizing students for positive character traits the focus on the wild cat way I hear wild cat way in the hallway when I'm in the hallway I like remember the wild cat way or that's that's not the wild cat way or that is the wild cat way you hear the staff talking about you the kids talking about it um you know the strong academic Foundation that's in place again with our curriculum
leadership intitute we're going to have a fifth Monday coming up with Stacy brutin coming up here a fifth Monday coming up I think that's the 29th is it of October here and Stacy will be here with us for um about an hour and actually the 30th I'm sorry the 30th and I will send that email reminder out to you guys um that piece is so important curriculum alignment is so important is is so important for us to make sure that we're getting kids going from one grade level one building to the next and things are in place and uh Stacy will be here to talk about the work she does with us here um there's also many different things I could go on and on and on that strong academic Foundation we talked about CI
work-based learning experiences even coming through even more um our our work uh you know with um you know having a business teacher having our our our our um our at the midle at the high school and then having um our shop teaching classes back with with again our two evening retreats in September as well so uh at this point in time I want to kind of introduce uh Sydney Goldberg uh she's here she asked for some time to talk about the Coffee County Justice Center project with our board um I want to just commend way buy and Sheriff Johnson um for their communication and their connection with us in regards to um how this is all going to unfold and how we're just going to work together and make this happen in regards to the
the upcoming project and again I really appreciate uh Wade and Tom an awful lot and we'll just we'll deal with things they arise darlo has been involved in those conversations as well as Margarita Solano Brad Griffin and we know we're going to have some you know things pop up issues bumps in the road we're going to we're going to make it work though we're going to make it work because that's what we do so Sydney I'll let you introduce I'm sorry I is it Warren Warr Warren Warren your last name again Moody Warren Moody um he is also involved with the with Sydney with River City correct perfect hi everybody hi everybody thanks for having us we're excited to be here I guess I don't have this stand up but um okay so we are
um excited to to begin coordination on this um I'm going to start with a little bit of a a project update but before I even say that um we are committed to coordinating however necessary with you all um we have great appreciation for what you do and so um you know certainly with the elementary school we're committed to that pickup and drop off window we've been aware of that from the um yeah but anything outside of that just working with you all we appreciate your flexibility this is an important project as well and it's it's exciting um that being said Warren here from River with River City Construction they're your construction manager on the project could not ask for a better construction manager um great communicators so I'm confident that coordination will be easy and
and you know ahead of schedule um the project itself is out to bid moment um so bids will be opened on the 19th which is o00 Y 2 o00 on the 19th um we're excited about that and so once once those bids are opened um we'll kind of compile everything bring it all together obviously take it back to the um commission for the kind of final goahead and then Warren do you want to talk a little bit more about the uh schedule yeah um I can pass there's nine of you all here so actually made n copies um take this uh is logistics plan and we call it a preliminary schedule it's not a full-blown schedule yet but as you want which uh we we bid the project this coming Thursday on the 19th um
we'll spend several weeks uh reviewing Scopes um from all of our bids um in we need to we need to um the short of it on the schedule if we start construction everything goes as plan with a bid um right after Christmas we're break so and it's about an 18 Monon schedule uh we just pretty much put this together right now just showing how we're going to get uh New lation Center building uh en closed we got like a six month window s month to F it out on the we show a placeholder for the new or the existing Courthouse Renovations as well um Sydney mentioned this right next to a school be times in the morning times in the afternoon and maybe other times set coordinate um we are going to be yeah we
are building right next right next door um no way around that um with communication key um knowing the time where we cannot shut or be on that road um that's easily related to our subs um probably our biggest um hurdle not hurdle but um there's a lot ofy on this job and um coordinating that work we just say on the West Side that's the side that fa of the school um pay extra attention to that and um we've done this for a long time it's done EAS done we just got to communicate um you talk a little bit about the perimeter oh yeah we'll uh we plan on a construction fence uh fully enclosing the site our primary entrance into the site is going to be from the oo um from the north um there's
an existing uh there the first paid BL coming off in the ocean we plan on leaving that as long as we can um just to get us out of the mud and stuff like that uh be a good place for smaller subcontractor trailers and lay down we call it but that that that'll be our primary entrance into the site and out um they able fully uh closing the job of construction fence um these two main gates uh man gate or two and um thinking about Jersey barriers along that side like you see on the side of the highway just s of separating um the edge of our construction they show us exactly where the saw cut at that saw cut line we put Jersey barriers plus the fence in case something happen to somebody L
it run you know so they don't run in the sight of the car so um yeah it's um we foresee no problem with this as long we communicate with folks with the principal she's here yeah we'll um yeah we'll be talking and uh I will not be the full-time um I'm overseeing a u project manager and superintendent you may have met superintendent Brian if you we did some work out in front of your old school this summer yeah yeah so um I you talk somebody maybe it was okayu but so um will that communication just be directly with you um for coordination on any timing that you know that we need to be that'll be directly with you also yeah but directly with her but we we'll exchange numbers and we'll make sure that the
has cell phone numbers yes and I before I ton I left my cards in my car just right outside so I will grab those I've got your email too so I can share I can share that with everybody and they'll just put the information yeah absolutely but yeah any any questions we can answer um that's what we're here to do myard call me I have a question on the the green block representing where the addition will be that's actual footprint or is it it's not going to go all um all okay I think so on the if you are curious you can go to the County's website and the bid actually has the drawings that show there's parking on the West Side diagonal parking there so it's you can see the actual building we got
yeah abolutely so we got lucky so we thought to begin with that that the West edge of our new building was going to be I mean the very West edge of the parking lot but we were able to let the State Farm Marshall said listen you got a brick building with your building you know right next to you can be 10 foot away so we chose to be 11 to be safe so we're going to be 11t away from the existing structure which moved that 21 ft you know to the east giving more space on the west side of the building so we're not going to be at the very edge you know trying to get cars pulled in when it's built and have problems with you we hope to have some parking enough area
to have some parking for the Sheriff's Office on the west side of the building so there's no it helped us out to move that 21 ft U closer to the to the East and again we've spoken with Darla and Craig and everybody believe me once this gets pretty well started you're going to know where Ryan is at all times she's going to be in that construction building or on the site and if you can't find them unfortunately I have a phone that that people call me 20 you know we Craig and I have touched Bas long before this over issues and again Darla has got my stuff too you can always either call me or walk over bang on the door and we can sit down over a cup of coffee and discuss whatever issues
might be coming up we we have a great relationship already with River City and all I've done is the parking lot they are a great group work with no matter what we've come up with they've sat down with us and talked about and and I think that this this board and the patrons and the kids uh will be beneficial having them work for us here so if there's an issue please reach out to one of us and we can touch Bas River City or W whoever may be I'm I'm available all the time I'm just curious during construction will you all just continue normal operations in your current space yes ma'am other than parking obviously yes ma'am yeah we have to we have to have a new St built for we you know take our
inmates out and place them somewhere and have additional space and we're we're at the mercy of River City to get the new project done so we can move out so believe me I've told I've told one others if I got to get my guys out put them some overalls and get them a pick we're going to start this project I want that conrete down out of the parking lot so check any other questions or discussion thank you all so much for coming we appreciate it yes I mean we appreciate the good relationship building with you all working with daring Craig and our parents some of the line of communication will just curiosity because we have 400 kids in there and more parents and much as i' like that we can keep the communication open with
DAR I be our building principal first and foremost and then help coordinate so reach out for Craig too he's not doing anything during the day can I think this is on that right okay we'll do and we'll be back to give some updates periodically but yeah please always Reach Out feel free to share my contact thank you thanks okay I still have weiz some a couple more items and uh we're going to good good news on this next one here um I wrote a Jones trust Grant Walter and Evan Jones test testamentary uh Grant uh uh for the BHS welding shop renovation we talked a little bit about this and an addition um and uh we were fortunate enough to receive a $250,000 Grant from them um that's going to be able to help cover
uh some of the cost of this of this of this uh addition renovation um but it won't be able to cover the whole cost um not much has been done to shop area in 44 years now uh having said that U we also over the summer um uh Jody and Taylor and myself met with representativ from Flint Hills Technical College and I've mentioned this to you and kept you guys informed they would really like to create a partnership of some sort with our a with our with our wel shop and be able to use um they're they're they're basically they're out of space and they're they're they got waiting list for the the students to be in involved in their welding program they would like to be able to come up with some sort of
partnership in some way shap perform whether it be Summers weekends evening classes so on so forth they've had discussions with us in regards to that possibly happening they can't Levy a bond issue if you will for a facility because they they just don't they can't do that as a college so they can accept donations or something along those lines but what they can do is to help us with this project they can help us with um Staffing of the Pro Staffing of the facility or they can help us with equipment because there's grants Carl Perkins grants that are specifically for Career and Technical education they can help us with the the equipment and then the Staffing like in the evenings the Summers um the weekends things like that the potential is there um but for
us again I'd say more importantly for our students and our staff a renovation is very very important and very needed for this area so with that being said just some preliminary information that uh received from Clark Simpson our architect he believes that this would be about a $1 million project you're dealing with improving lighting improving electrical impr improving hbac and an added expansion area for uh restrooms and Locker space Locker space an added area for for equipment for um workstations for the the welding um the welding booths and so on so for and this is something Julie carton has been involved in the discussions as well with us over the summer so with that being said and us having some discussions about this um during the retreat evenings in September um to be able to
do a project like this we may be looking at something kind of like what we did for the one mil for five years for our science room Renovations at middle school and high school the gym renovation um and then the additional money that we didn't spend for the first grade Wing renovation where we had about $350,000 proximately left over to be able to use that in that first grade ining renovation um we may be looking at something along the lines like I say of a one mill for two years a mill for us generates about $546,000 give or take a few dollars again um exactly from the county and um it's interesting I asked Casey and Angie um at the county courthouse uh and uh some information on tax information the tax implications would be
uh basically they are they're the same they're exactly the same as what we when we did the one mil for 5 years so basically it's $11.50 a year on a $100,000 home you know un improved a land would be about would be $30 a year on property with a value of $100,000 and the commercial indust industrial or improved Agland would be $25 a year on property with a value of $100,000 so those are exactly the same dollar amounts for tax implications it's just we would be doing um you know this one mil for two years specifically for this project and again I'm going to stop talking here let you guys give some thoughts here um on on a possible project like this I can tell you in our Retreats that the W shop looks exactly
like it did when I graduated from high school 9 uh it's small it needs H Renovations for the equipment that's in there um and welding programs I think around this part of the world are growing pretty exponentially so I I would be in favor with starting the idea of publicizing the project and moving forward to making a decision later obviously but start the idea and start the conversation I definitely support I agree um you also have the concern of not having an appropriate changing room um restroom in there for um females you know when it was built it was yeah it was just for the boys yes so you know we needed we need to correct that and so that's part of it but I mean I think it's a good time to start talking
about it like you said um you know just you know we did the one for five years this is the these are the projects we did want to one for about it yep get the information out there let's get some feedback from the public so with your permission I'll start to kind of I'll probably um get with kti and get an article in the newspaper for that information start the ball rolling I'll probably start talking with some different different groups different entities in in um in town and just start sharing some thoughts on what we're thinking about doing we have a window again it's a 40-day protest or you know you would put something out in the in the paper for this you have 40 days protested there's uh um I can't remember the percentage
I'm drawing a blank now I want to say it's 10% of the voting public 10% of the voting public would would file a petition and sign off on it saying no we don't want this tax increase then we could say no we're not doing the project or we take it to an actual public vote so that just kind of an FYI as a 40-day window with that we probably need to be going sooner than later especially if we want to try to do this project in the summer because there's going to be construction Crews that'll start you know that'll start booking up here pretty quick and we'll need to get bids out and so on so forth so um we'll probably try to get pretty aggressive on this because I do really believe it's needed
I think you guys have seen the need there and we very much right the welding welding is huge it's it's incredible there's we have a lot of kids that are going to different welding schools whether it's fls Technical College whether it's uh colleges after a you know when they're here you know with us at fls Technical College or whether it's after um After High School they're on to I think there's a programming de beta if I'm not mistaken I mean I think you could keep this I think you could have a class in that shop every hour of the day in high school and you're going to need two maybe three I don't know how many well there there's Jody how many teachers you going to need to staff that well we we have classes
in in every hour except for one right now but not all of her classes are welding so when she teaches like animal science um they wouldn't necessarily be using the shop so well I think if you're going to you're going to invest that kind of money in that shop there needs to be something going on I agree and and I think that's the I think it can be done I just I don't I'd hate for you to see all that get done and then have it draw cobwebs because you don't have somebody to teach it's not it's not going to draw cobwebs we we have an excellent teacher Julie does a wonderful job she's she's over she's she's too much you need you need more help I think that'd be a great opportunity to partnership
with Flint Hill St then to get those if they can bring staff that'd be awesome whether it's during day weekends nights a lot of our uh well postgraduate kids that are within the district maybe able to do night classes there with Hill Tech so that' be better I really want to see it utilized hard because I think it would be a good thing I agree and the last I'm sorry any anything else okay so I will start with some aggressive information out and start to share that information and with with the public uh at board retreat we talked a little bit about the new open enrollment policy for all schools in the state of Kansas uh again we talked about this and we're putting together um that proposal we're going to have discussions again with
our administrator team have have something kind of a I'm going to say pretty good basic proposal framework uh for you at November board meeting to look at and discuss again there's a hearing that has to occur before um January 1 um there's some other things that are involved with that with that new law that uh create um some challenges that we'll we make sure we we meet those head on and take care of those so that's coming in November and with that I will stop um questions anybody anything no thank you yeah move on to board member reports anything to share is thisa you want that's what I we'll move on to Insurance bid okay Kimberly Kimberly is terrific I just got to start out with that she is so helpful insurance is a challenge
uh just your own personal insurance type stuff but when you put together a school district bid it's it's pretty uh daunting and so she is terrific to sit down and discuss and go through different things with us um again just can't say enough good things about Kimberly and Angela at trust Point um there were two different bids that we did have we had one from trust point and then one from CIS you have that information there um and uh trust I did did invite both if they wanted to come and speak on their behalf in some way shape or form uh Tom McGuire at CIS said no thank you um be okay just letting our information speak for itself Kimberly uh typically comes here um and so I'll turn it over to Kimberly thank you
well thank you um all of you for your time and thank you for those kind words um I uh I will Echo the same sentiments C and Christy are topnotch and amazing to work with um first off uh I think everybody here knows me but my name is Kimberly from press point and um I have uh uh supplied the um EMC renewal bid with some options this year um our basic bid base bid um came in at $367,500 will recall uh last year we took a 24% increase um on our on the renewal and that was most that was most of property and and also if you recall our discussions last year um the the reason that we were taking half of it last year and half of it this year is because we were
trying to get the buildings up to 100% insured to value and when looking back and researching why why our building the I say our buildings collectively as taxpayers um were lower than where they needed to be is because um years pasted um even U and this was before Craig before me um the school district went out for insurance bids every year and they would use the same property values that were standard in the policy as the next year so that's where everybody was bidding off off of and so you had to stick to those values but that really could have dangered the school district um in the event of a claim because if you didn't have that property value where it needed to be it it could have caused a a significant loss and so
that's where we were working with EMC the last several years to bring those uh values on your most heavy line of of coverage which is property up to that 100% insured devalue and with this renewal they are they're at 100% And remember that your buildings and your personal property are all under a blanket um and that blanket is now over a hundred million in value with this renewal and with that EMC uh their minimum deductibles for property with a blanket that high does jump your deductible all Peril up to 25,000 from what it was what it is right now at 10 and your wind hail to 50,000 versus 25 to what it is now so one of the main offers that I bring you to help alleviate that on the property line is what we
call a b a deductible buy down for wind and hail it's a separate policy that we go out to do a large insurer which is you we've all heard of Lloyds of London and essentially I offer you the school district for an additional $2,100 uh policy that if we had a major wind hail incident they would IM they would we would file a claim just the same as we would with EMC but they for that additional 2100 and a little 2188 I believe is what it is off top my head um for that amount of money they will buy down that wind held deductible by 25,000 per occurrence so if you have multiple ones that's a cheap price to let's say you have two claims that's $50,000 in one policy term so I offer that
as a as a as an option for the board to consider as well now another line that did increase this year is your linebacker coverage this is your directors and officers coverage um the board's decision making liability and Employment Practices coverage um and the reason that took a 15% increase again this year and the biggest reason for that is because we are seeing in our industry more and more the liability claims whether they're futile or not you know that they are being directed towards public entities um we've we seen it right here in our County with Coffee County and others that people are challenging even the city um that people are challenging those public entities and the liability um there's there's still the tort law the Kansas claims tort law that is in place however
it keeps getting eroded a little bit and a little bit more and um so that's where the challenges and the the claims that we're seeing that all of us have to have that skin in the game that's why that increase um I also proposed a uh an option for work comp uh my base bid does include work comp with EMC your current carrier and um I will let Craig expand a little bit on their experience um I believe it's been a great experience um um however I did want to offer that option but but you did see a $177,000 increase on the work comp and that is because you've had shock losses the last couple years and your your claims have been up and so your mod is the one your mod factor which is
your experience rating of your claims that's what we like to keep at a one or below because one is even if you're below that's a credit so if you take that mod at 1.56 that's a debit so that's where you're CLA they're they're you're essentially paying for those shop losses in your premum so those are the highlights I'm not going to say that they're friendly um it wasn't pleasant to receive it myself but um again trust points here to help you whatever we can do for you um and we do not take your business for granted you you you we are just as much part of this community as you are and we appreciate your business as well and I'll stand for questions there's also I say a list if you'll notice on presentation oh
gosh I'm trying to think it's the additional coverage options on that document there um that the wind hail which she mentioned again it's it's all board's obviously board's decision but 8881 if you have one or two events then obviously it's worth every penny if we don't have a wind hail issue yeah we we spent that money and good that we didn't have one but anyway um that could be one that you you might want to look at adding on to that um that that coverage the other one's the boiler and Machinery um selfing self-insure your mechanical breakdowns as not was not something I would recomend all um adding catbackers is additional insured on that not recommended at all they need to have their own insurance crime infidelity piece uh we did not feel like in
discussing with Kimberly that was a need going to $3,000 deductible on comprehension and collision for the vehicles that would save $1,713 but that's that's not in my opinion that would not be a recommendation I make I think we're where we need to be with our workers compensation really do believe you could in increase the umbrella limit from 1 million to 2 million it's going to cost you $1,358 that's a maybe and then back to work and and and going there's another quoted coverage from American Trust Insurance company and Kimberly does a great job she goes out and looks for other um other companies and she does kind of that cost comparison analysis for us uh for for different companies we could go with this American Trust Insurance company and we could save ,500 47 but
about three four years ago we went away from EMC and it was the help me with accident fund accident fund it was not good guys we got out of it after a year their their customer service was not what we would expect they did not you know take care of our employees in a timely manner um emc's a little more more cost costly and expensive but yet it it makes a difference when you have an issue and were taking care of so I guess with that being said there's two areas that you could possibly add the wind hail bu down policy and the umbrella going from 1 million to 2 million can't really did I miss anything on that no actually that that was perfect Kimber is a good teacher she teaches me well thank
you so I don't know if you have any thoughts or any questions on those two areas and just one thing I I it's uh if you give me the Liberty to just uh add a little bit more here the other reason the property went up um is with a rate increase is because of the the the unstable conditions of property in the insurance industry currently um as as we all know we've seen catastrophe events weather events and otherwise um in Thailand Florida hurricanes the California wildfires even the the wildfires in Colorado and and we have had at least three major cons for our state standards three major weather events just here in Kansas uh great bent had uh softball siiz hail and uh ruined or just had tons of property damage with that and so
you have all of this playing in in where these claims need to be made a insurance company cannot pay claims unless they're profitable obviously and so insurance companies do have insurance themselves it's called re insurance and so their reinsurance companies are the ones that have been over the last um five to 10 years been uh taking the blunt of all these catastrophe claims worldwide so when I when you say that everybody shares a piece of the pie it really does because it drives the building cost it drives the availability of those building supplies and that drives Price It's All About supply and demand and with them with those reinsurance companies they have pushed back to the carriers that they have like EMC for instance to make sure that they have the their properties in ured
to Value adequately and that their so that their percentage of profit margin is adequate for what they're writing so then they get a better reinsurance rate um just like our competitors they they have the same situation you're probably seeing this with your homeowner policies you're you're seeing anywhere from 20 to 40% increases this year because of that volatility on the property side of the industry so the school's not immune to that either so I appreciate just giving you a little heads up that that's also a piece in that property uh value as well but we do our best to try and negotiate those terms with your carrier any other questions or comments or thoughts uh one inhale that would be like roof events right replace the roof on One inale cost yes truly um wind
wind and hail are are is going to you know they can tank a roof really really substantially um currently right now your policy and it is for this renewal your roofs are all on replacement cost now EMC does have a uh uh carrier wide uh policy if you will that any brids that are 15 years and older immediately revert to actual cash value so what that means is they minus the depreciation out of it and so let's and the the elementary school is the one that has the building that has the the oldest roof right now it's at 14 years so you've got one year with that with that You' got one year and on that that still on that replacement cost so that's good um and and then so let's say that that roof
in general terms is worth 30 years you would still have 15 years of uh claim ability if you will on that roof but you're only going to get that half% yeah exactly when you go to replace that now there's a plan remember the high school was done in three phases and it's say years about eight years approximately 8 years old the middle school just oh gosh time goes C here quick two years two years ago I think it was concluded so it's again those are in really good shape the elementary school again the future we're obviously we're trying to sort through you know what to do there and just making sure obviously that we take care of that roof as time goes on whether it's a complete replacement or sections uh we did have a
couple of leaks po up with our Heavy Rain they were patched and repaired Heavy Rain it was that occurred some sometimes there was a heavy rain back in August in August or September there was one we we had an issue the repair the repairs were made and they were about 3,000 if I remember don't quote me on that about 3,000 to do the repairs so the roof's still in good shape it's kind think in terms of a car when your when your brand new car you buy and this 5year warranty is up you don't go sell your car you still drive your car for years to come unless you're you know unless your life changes so same with the roof if a roof warranty goes off yeah you're you're just monitoring it you're checking you're
taking care of it as needed so um I guess the only thing again that I would look to maybe do would be that that wind hail piece it may be worth it for an extra $2,188 81 if we don't use it great if we do use it it's definitely we way money in it and usually you know I and I'm don't I'm not trying to be salesy but with uh the area that we live in Wind hail is the most prominent claim we see um and it's not a matter of if it's when so that's why I recommended it didn't mean to be PR I'm sorry sorry I try not to be I really don't address all location just needs updated but I'm assuming that personal property and that would remain the same I believe
loation six is the bridges program yes it still has at 14th so we just I assume the property because it's just a personal property the I so many updates we'll get you that new address Li get that to thank you for catching that thank you yes thank you if we do change that amount motion to approve Insurance bid from trust point and the amount be 369 81 369 8381 with the additional wind hail dble at 25,000 does that remain a single event thing if it's it's per occurrence deductible so if we have God forbid we have please not on way um if we have a a cyclone come through um and several buildings are just uh damaged that's one that's what I high school and El were hit the same Hil storm per occurrence it
would be the just one deductible okay motion on this yeah okay I'll make a motion to approve the insurance for trust point in what's the higher number 369 803 369 803 I'll all that's you got that number she have that's cheap cheap insurance for something like that for 25000 it's still cheap the customer service I say Kimberly and are terrific to work with um they've got our numbers we've got their numbers and we are always in communication as needed motion passes 5 on to concrete thank you you and thank you all of you okay this was something that we looked at at uh our board retreat and this is the area around the baseball and softball fields um that is that drop off landing area there where U right by be the third base Dugout
for baseball first base Dugout for softball to create a concrete area there and a place like for handicap parking and a drop off area for those that are either in wheelchairs strollers crunches Walkers whatever the case might be as well as a number of those other safety areas for warm up areas where again fencing we put fencing up as well as the can concrete those areas in this amount um in talking with Jeremy hugan um the dollar amount that the the cost for concrete is off of last year's concrete bid because they will be looking to do this here in the months of October and November and he will quote he said I will be happy I quote the concrete bid price from this past summer now we'll have some other concrete work potentially that
we'll do later um that will be a different number it'll be more expensive for the summer projects if you will but this will lock in the previous rate yes this will walk it in and then make can look that their idea is to look right after uh Halloween to start on this project and get this done so it'll be in preparation for this this March April uh May for our spring season and guys if you haven't been out around the baseball softball fields oh my goodness soccer evening soccer they got the lights on they're playing soccer little kids football it's amazing what's happening out there and I think if we can get some organization and help for that parking piece I think that's going to help out a lot for safety because there's some 3-in
rock as you guys saw those are ankle Twisters ankle breakers it's not safe it's it's not easy but that's the big that's the big rock they were using when they were doing the construction project on the tur so I don't know if you have any questions on this um again we have a certain amount we look to do in concrete this year I've budgeted for about 200,000 I would still in my I'd be taking 200,000 minus the 71820 amount so we'd be looking to do somewhere around 128 180 or less this year um in concrete um just to keep our parking lot parking lots our um our our sidewalks as safe as possible so I would like to you know again keep that number where we are in our budget in our 5year actually sevene
Capital outy plan questions on this and this covers all that in the middle the road and then from the west side of the soft field softball field to fence that entire area or just that's that's going to be the graval piece that's going to be the next one the gravel parking lot bed okay so no no to answer your question that middle that's that drop off area yes that's that drop off area as well as the fencing that we're going to put up in and around the baseball all warm up areas sorry um kind of tying in go I'm sorry go ahead uh I have a question for both kids I guess then the rock that's currently there what are they doing with that they're going to repurpose that for a base layer but and
use it it's it's so they're going to take it up dig down put it back down you got in the the the to to go ahead a little bit to the gravel par lot bed that gravel parking lots they call it clean Rock it's going to be much smaller it's going to have a more compaction to it versus a a bumpy uneven surface I guess as best as you can with gravel and rock so yes it's a much more compacted it's a much safer right and that's from the fence the fence or the road area the road yes fence to yeah to the soft sorry I had good good question so think in terms that little service road is there when you drive in that would be to the South behind the softball field is
where that all that's the next part for the gravel parking lot B to the South to the south of that little service road behind the softball Outfield okay okay so this and Taylor can maybe speak on this with baseball and softball we have warmup areas where little kids sometimes wander in and around batting cages kids are taking swings pitchers are warming up we're going to have that gated and fenced off and uh enclosed so there's not parents in warmup areas little kids in warm- up areas I don't know if you want to comment on anything oh no I think you covered it it's just especially because little kids aren't paying attention and there's some softball picture warming up they're just running around and soing that in I think is is pretty tile I was on
work yeah yeah and Kimberly likes that too because we're doing better for interest so we're doing better we're trying to be safe any any other questions on that I do appreciate that you're pulling that out of the 200 area because it just makes us inrease I'm move to approve the concrete bid from BR Construction Inc in the amount of $1,820 and will be yes it is just amazing the activity out there I I mean it is well you're not in your head football every Saturday football soccer oh it's just incredible it's always busy and the lights are on it's Ocean passes for we already talked about start of the gravel parking lot dude right this one's a little bit more expensive than um like I said than what uh I was hoping for um but
a lot of it and I I did speak with jet kilo from kilo construction and he talked about the specifics again there there's a couple of different options we we could lower the base there's three different base and you have this information here there's three different levels if you will um there's u a a large Rock then there's an ab3 Rock and then what they call a clean Rock and that's kind of the layers in visiting with him he said we could change CH some some thickness or depth of rock in other words if we went with 3 in of ab3 rock instead of 2 in of Base Rock and um and that and and we changed a couple of those um uh like we went from 4 in to 3 in of The ab3
Rock and 3 in to 2 in of the base Rock we would we would cut down about $133,000 off that price um he said it still is going to give you a really really really good parking area there um no matter which way you go you're going to save again about $133,000 he also did indicate too he said I we've got a pretty we got a large area there and he said I feel he said I've got a certain amount for rock if if we if we end up uh not needing that much of rock then we will come back with a credit he said I will show you what I have budgeted and then I'll show you what we actually purchased so um having said that um we could do I I say an
amount not to exceed um you know again there's there's some different options you could you could reduce the cost of that project by $133,000 if you go from you know the 4 in to the 3 in of ab3 3 in to 2 in of Base um anyway I'll stop talking and listen to some thoughts so look the map there so we would still maintain essentially East West Road on North End and then parking would be between the fence and Northwest North South Road yes okay is there um there's pretty big dip there I assume there be they do grading and stuff to make sure that they would just go throw gravel down get there correct they're going to make sure it uh it's raed if you and there's two drains that they will raise there's
two drains that a bit lower they're going to raise those up and and put them where they need to be um he did say your drainage is pretty good there so he said if you do this project at either one of those two options you should have a very long have longevity with this project it's not like you're going to have to bring in rock every other year to put down so anyway and we would stripe the gravel parking lot we would go in and stripe it so that there would be parking stalls there and have might not to have to you know just the the willy-nilly parking if you will out there for lack of a better term we would stripe it so that there would be you know LS and people there be
any like parking blocks like nothing interesting we we actually talked about that today we might do that um in in certain areas we kind of have to wait and see we do have some actually some that we sold and some that we still have in storage um so we kind of look and what makes sense there no drainage out there at all from the field no no issues with drainage no the actually the field the softball and the baseball field all drain out behind baseball center field all the drainage heads that way so it's not an issue good question I have a pat say that they came in on the road that's Mark B and they get into SE the drop off and there's a I have a hard time turn it around to get
out is that going to be better with this I think I think it's going to be better because we're going to have the spots organized and and marked and and we'll we'll create turnaround areas there that will be sufficient for cars to be able to maneuver another positive on this too that should would be very helpful I'm going to say is Overflow parking scenarios so we'll be able to put for example we have track meets and we have 20 buses here from 20 different schools we'll be able to park them out there behind the baseball softball field in that area if we have wrestling tournaments we can park buses there we I mean we can use that area for parking for Overlook flow parking at big events football games buses could park there and so
on so forth so it it'll be helpful you know for just general parking for baseball and softball but also for bigger events I have two more questions for sure and I'm sorry wait till the day asked but the road up that's La be will that be widen a little bit so there's enough room for two yeah we're going to look to do that good question and then three is I don't know if we should cheapen up the bid if you're parking heavy buses on there because then you're going to I'd hate to see if be wet and you run a bus over it and then should went with the better off because now it's alled up so yeah for for $133,000 guys I mean again you can save it but doesn't make sense to do
it we tried to do things right and I still like redoing stuff yeah good good point it's going to include signs about liability in softballs yeah you're parking yeah yes yes yes excellent questions any other questions I agree with Ron's comment about the saving money if we're driving large buses on there even the teams that come there will drive theirs have and at some point in time again we'll look to budget parking I want to say to the north of that service road depending upon the need we may again create a gravel parking area there it's probably going to be a similar cost maybe a little less expensive but we'll kind of kind of scope out and see how many spots we have with this new project and then see where we stand um with
the parking area to the north of that little Service Road and see where we are if we put another entrance we're not just one entrance that's that's a really good point we sure could do that possibly I think the county or the city could work with us on a CT in an entrance there they've done I think there's a c to the nor I think you're right I think you're right other questions or comments I'll move to approve the gra parking lot bid for from kilo construction ink in the amount of $ 15479 further discussion we can all vot on comps motion passes 41 move on to BHS trophy case BD okay this is something we looked at again at our Retreat um this would be the three sections of lockers again right up against
the common wall the commons area and the gym um these would be custom build uh scenarios there to put again trophy case displays um I think Taylor and Jody we Taylor Comm may but we have a lot a lot of trophies that were just jammed packed on top of each other no rhyme nor reason and maybe you've got a lot in storage if I'm not mistaken yeah we do we have I tried to clear them out this year because we had trophies stacked on top of each other so deep you had it was hard to see what was even in there and so reorganized a lot of them uh over the summer to kind of highlight the regional championships state championships things that have happened recently and so they're now all they're all trophy cases
that are off to the if you're facing the if you're facing the gym they'd be on the back left side um which is fine no one really sees them though I mean for the most part if you're in line for concessions you might like glance over to your left and see them um and so I think the and then we just have tons that I have in a storage now they're just stacked up because I was just kind of waiting to see what we were going to do so we have a lot of trophies um advantage of this is it would kind of become a center piece of the entire room everybody would see them all the time I imagine we' have you know some backlighting and things in there to make it look really
nice and highlight you know you'd start with whatever kind of a central area right in the middle with like state championships and things like that and then areas for each SP or recent championships for regionals and Pioneer league and different things like that so I think it could be um a good centerpiece to the commons it's obviously had a quite a face lift in the last just in the last year with the new floors and the new door covers and things like that so well the like fan and FFA that that'll all go down there the central whereas those are just and whereas those those trophies now like the band ones and things are seen by probably even less people because I don't they're tucked in the corner by the band entrance and the FFA
one is down in the FFA Hall we would want all of that like in the front and center for everybody to see expense there is with the safety glass it's very pricey it's it's around $20,000 in safety glass Alone um and then you got shelving safety glass shelving safety glass stores you got locks there the wood it's it's expensive as well and it's custom built because you're building for those areas where those lockers those lockers are currently not being used really it's a bad design in my opinion lockers on the cafeteria like we talked about on that side and all your academic classes are on the other side like kids aren't going back and forth they're going to keep it in their book bag their backpack whatever um um and so if we were ever
to need lockers again in my mind lockers would go in the hallways down on the East end of the building and you put it in the hallways there if we ever did need lockers again so anyway back in the day was pretty convenient because you just carry your morning books switch out lunch so that's that's how most of my classes work was that back in the 199s was was would this be a a project that our shop class could do I do not believe that they could take on something like this Leo I think the shop class did the trophy case for that would be neat if they can do that maybe they could do it with some assistance it it would be if they could do it but this pretty extensive and um you
I you got a lot of safety glass involved there that just I'm I'm I want to I want to make sure it's like I say it's it's done well and it's it's done the right way so uh that's a pretty overwhelming project in my opinion it's not just not no actually actually this could be done in time for like over Christmas breakas and so it could be a lot of it would probably be built on site in in a shop area and transport during school because of the cafeteria this is that area between the doors the basketball room yes the basketball there's three sections you know that will be created a lot of space um anyway other questions so it would cover everything on that West Wall not just in between the two all the
way to the end all the way to the both hallways okay how long has the bid been out uh for two weeks we only receiv received one day and that's been pretty typical from any type of project like this um for previous projects I've called kitchen Trends I've called trying to remember who else I've talked to and they just haven't put in a b so other questions have I know I know it is expensive it it it's not a quote unquote absolute half to do must things this is not like the parking lot areas but um tropy are just jungled with all sorts of different different Awards and it's it's hard to I say I I I can't even can't even tell hiding or hair on you know different different uh you know different things
that we have there so it will create a lot more space for our alumni to alumni can come back and see past teams past recognitions past Awards um I think maybe Mr Wilson might be maybe and give Mr Raymond Anderson a connection on that to maybe work on his project he's very detailed and meticulous be a so I think not t the cat out of the bag on that one but but again like it is it's it's when I say it's a significant amount of money but um recog history and the one that I think is important as long as it's super durable I just think about all those kids running around there basketball games and stuff and it's just a really big piece yeah that safety glass safety glasses safety glasses good point other
questions yeah the VHS trophy for PL Design Center and 1193 further discussion try case have you got any ideas what to do with the lockers not yet not yet we honestly we have two kids this year using and um again we have a hallway space down in each those hallways down there I think it really would take that I can do a survey of some sort to see if they were closer or would they use them because with their backpacks their computer bags and there there are some benefits to having the lockers closer to them they might use them but I I think it's just a survey to see that if we were to rep say repurpose them and I don't even know when we pull them off what that what that looks like so
I think we'll we'll we'll hold on to them and figure out there's a purpose for along that great ples is reming them they're going to be enough to be reused sh they're just're they're attached to the wall you just undo bols and screws anyway I'm either possibly repurpose some of them and sell if they could be used potentially in the I'm going to say the welding shop we need potentially for Locker space there so I again we're we'll hold on to until we see we either need them or we don't need them and then I can try to sell them to colleagues on all the Ser superintend or email group I have St anyway okay thank you move on to the coordinating Council appointment this is a very simple appointment I think you know Ron
served on this and really there's not that much you're not involved in meetings you don't have to attend meetings but just if there's something that pops up we can have that board member it's part of the BW so um anyway to have a board member how do approve Ron H as the representative coordinating Council for the 2023 motion passes 5 Z move on to Turf Ral agreement um Taylor Wilson did a lot of work on this created this Turf agreement that we will have I'm sure there'll be people that don't want to utilize our facilities uh when rain starts to hit and they have makeup games or so on and so forth so you have some information there um basically in regards to Al it can be by the hour or by the game um
there's some flexibility there and there's a document there I don't know if you have any questions for Taylor um but it puts something in place for us to use um if we have if we have um people to inquire about using our facilities I think uh our daughter wouldn't played they paid 400 but I think that's a good price is 300 for our area there's lots of rain outs that push into F yeah I think it's in line with some of what I've seen too and I like that our Personnel already built into it and it's funded that's funded through the cost of rental I like that so and of course we can put this document in place if we need to adjust it in the year make adjustments as needed so this is a
good starting point um to have some things in place in regards to when we get requests and this is I didn't see anything in there as far as um you know somebody else is needing and like the rec center and someone else comes want to rent the rec center get priority over that outside absolutely money yeah exactly yeah Rec Center gets full us Rec Center equal priority over everybody else nothing correct y if I communicate with Trevor and Scott at the rec center before I approved anything to be rented out to any other organization yep is this something that needs to be voted on I didn't see the top oh it is maybe now let me pull back up I refresh okay ready I'll make that motion to approve the tur agreement as presented second
at the bot motion passes 41 we move on to ksb policy updates okay I'm going to try to go through the You' have these um ahead of time try to go through them if it's possible but also I don't uh want tell slow me down please Slow Me Down um if you if you have any any questions um closing of the school buildings uh that information again that's just a review and becoming uh compliant with the state statute which we've talked about um in regards to you know if if we were to we were to look to you know close a building or if we were to sell a building which we talked about we'd have to offer it to the state that's some information later on here but there there's a whole list of
things there um this is just falling in line with that with that policy um questions on AG okay now going to GAF emergency safety interventions again that's just um being compliant with May 25th again emergency safety interventions that's the acadm ESI um again there's just I say just some wording there just to become compliant with those State statutes okay going on to the gaoa drug free workplace we would look to adopt alternative one that's the one that we normally that that we would have if you were to look at our board policies currently right now KB offered alternative to and that would be for larger school districts that have L like Bo clubs have different entities in their buildings in regards to a this scenario and talking with Angie stal balber at KB she said
really your alternative one is what would be best food best fit Burlington so again um that's that's the reasoning for alternative one g a r i d started leave that's just updated to a line with applicable federal regulations um it just Falls in line with the again um regulations for military leave for potentially for our staff um there are I think just a few changes um continue to employer sponsored health care for up to now it's 24 months so if if we were to have a military leave scenario we would sponsor their healthare for to that 24 month time frame and then there's just some very basic wording changes there if I remember correctly and again Slow Me Down from going too fast otherwise I'm going to keep rolling um reduction of teaching staff that's
GB QA if we were to ever be in that situation there's a um there's a list of things that we would look at um things that would be included would be again educational included in that discussion or determination of educational goals and needs of the District Individual certifications by staff members qualifications training skills evaluations would be a part of that decision making um And in regards to a decisions that would be made in regards to staff if who were there would have to do a reduction of teaching Force um overnight accommodations piece um that's ifcc there's some information there that needs to be shared um the state has kind of done a change on this from um from where the governor um did make some you know I guess decisions as far as with uh
with gender and so on so forth um the one area does say biological sex means the biological indication male and female in the context of reproductive potential or capacity so it goes on here it's not necessarily what would be um in a first certificate because again the governor was originally allowing that to be in the birth certific to be changed it's birth at it's it's it's gender at Birth and that's just need to be aware when we are having overnight accommodations whether it's at bla trips state tournaments whatever the case might be um this is probably more related I want to say to high school and they will be aware of this need to do policy will be provided to parents prior to a student's participation in a school district sponsored activity or travel that
requires overnight stay by students do we have birth certificates for every kid in school we should but there might be a few that we're still short on um we do a lot of chasing those good good good question but we're set up to have yes it's the expectation telling you it is a process and we don't always get them before we move kids on to the next building either I mean especially kids that they come in not in kindergarten but we knock on the door a lot for those sounds like very challenging to enforce if someone comes in their junior year I don't know how I'm would be exped to enforce that as a board yeah I think the legislation was pretty solent on that they just wanted to check this box but yeah the
enrollment piece on JBC and jbcc we will not be adopting those areas now because again we're going to be doing that at when we have our hearing before January 1 so JBC jbcc that information there um is still being worked on um by us as uh superintendent as well as k so I'm going to go ahead and just kind of go through that um just kind of flip through those there will be some of that that will be familiar in a in a policy that we start to put together um as we move forward um and you start to see some information in November um the J gfga administration of emergency opioid um um presentation there again that falls in line with what we are doing right now so we administer can if we suspect
an overdose again that falls in line with just us making sure that we have training in place for the people that would be involved Lor Herman does helped provide that training procurement of the product there are each building that would know where the Nan is and the storage piece and then there's a again um that that that form there that kind of Falls along with an instant report that would be filed just if we were to have to administer remember Naran is something that again even if we administer it and say the student wasn't overdosed in some way shape or form with opioid opioids it's still according to medical research it will not cause harm to the student so having said that um that's just that information on that policy J gfga um questions okay
going on with jh Student Activities again this is just to reflect the changes in the state law regarding participation in Student Activities and Athletics by homeschool part-time students was NE necessitated by the passage of the house sub for sub Senate Bill 113 so it falls in line to meet those guidelines um there's one part in here that we were going to look at the adding or eliminating activities so administr administrative recommendations to add or eliminate specific activities we can either do a shall or may be considered by the board however you would like to do that so if we were to eliminate a specific activity let's say we were to no longer have voice golf or cross country whatever it can either be a shall be considered by the board or may be considered by
the board if we were to do something I think you guys would want to know if we were to eliminate an activity of some sort it would be my recommendation to do sh on this one because I think you'd want to have a discussion on why we were eliminating an activity and that would be brought to discussion at a board meeting so I don't know if you guys have a feeling on that one way or the other was that just an eliminating or is adding yes so if we had a proposal let's say for uh group one to have girls golf that was a discussion few years back um again add or eliminate shall or may thought I think sh seems to align I mean that is also those instr would be part of a
negotiated agreement too they're covered in their pay so the board should be aware of what we're adding because it'll have to be addressed through negotiations okay okay um disposal of District property U that's again just falling in lines with um new procedure U regarding the sale of a district building which we've talked about if we were to sell a building we would have to give State the first ride or first refusal if we were to sell the property south of the high school that area right by the rec center that's just an open field we could do whatever power we want to sealed bit auction we could do whatever um on that but if there's a building on it it fits in line with that um house sub for Senate bill3 there's a lot that
got put in that bill guys and at late late late night early early early in the morning how already want C so we' just be falling in line with that compliance piece um knen for complaints revised this policy was updated just to clarify the role of appeal officer when the initial determination and the formal complaint has been appealed so it's just it's a wording type uh adjustment and just a clarifying that role of an appeal officer if there is a complaint and so there's some strikeouts there just some um just some adjustments that are very very minor it's more again word smithing a little bit of clarity and guys with that I think that's it any questions so just for my clarity
