myself anything changes their missions to the agenda very none will move on with the concern agenda thank you I'm going to approve the consent agenda items that's presented a second and Selena are you on your computer I am okay we all vote on our computers motion passes 7-0 move on to public comment s I'd like to say thank you to Darth the veterans saying always is a big thing and I appreciate you learning that not so much for the veterans sake that children need to learn about what it costs to live in America which I appreciate you doing you're in the band did a great job again need to have a space force song next year but they did a great job and I appreciate all that happens there and then I'd like to say
thank you to the high schoolers that came to support the rotary eating competition there's a lot of fun and that was good there to see Mr Wilson there talking to the kids afterwards is just a good thing and then just let you know and I'll be talking to the high school the American Legion in town has opted to fund two boys to voice state to this next summer and so we'll be talking about getting those guys organized chosen to get ready to go and then there's a potential for some scholarship money or a torko contest and so I'll be talking to the high school camp out that is worth a chance thank you great thank you any great Communications this week go on to the Elementary report questions or comments for daughter left with Elementary
or the parent teacher conferences by Earth as those participation is that in line is that highly normal is it kind of things yeah okay I don't know open them back up kind of a word in the school people coming back in maybe that's people are definitely a fan of that like in the United States program last week was I think we were putting out more chairs before it started so okay we'll move on to the middle school report and that is sick so yes some information in our backup if there's anything uh that you want me to connect with them and I can share it with you in my Friday notes I'd be happy to do that so if you see anything in an area now or later please let me know [Music] you know
you know we are Fridays are by far our small state but we usually right about 65 minutes of like 65 to speed up our high or normal yeah that's our lower now so we're usually or um we actually a couple of our student teachers uh started working so that's actually let me gain the staff member so we're hanging in there I mean staff Staffing is hoping except Wednesday is a little low but we're gonna go ahead I think that's true yeah school days always ahead one of the swimming pools yeah and that's actually Embrace with Arlo City but yes the ones that come over here excited about it because I've been talking to the teachers tonight which I'm not sure how happy that going to do it yet and they said do you know that
offer then these jobs are earlier they're like we would have worked all semester because they said like they're not really allowed to allowed to I mean they can have a job but they're like you know what jobs can you get after you get home from school unless you're working till 10 o'clock at night you're like this is perfect so I'm like that was great feedback to hear from them like that they you know I mean it is for you know students it's pretty good yeah okay we'll move on to the High School report s so why that loads we'll go ahead and talk to Lindsay if that's all right thank you yeah Lindsay your spend report um the only thing I would just say is I'm not sure what Staffing was on there I would
say I'm up to about eight um hold right now um the locations I have reached out to Southeast Kansas Works to hold another career fair for possibly a chapter margarito for custodians and then Food Service as well as myself we're looking at the link in December 12th I'm just trying to solidify collocation because it's their best times are in the morning during the day I high school because a lot of social going on so I got reached out to a library first just because I said space this month at all for like for the rec or to come to Kelly Hall or somewhere you know just try to find learning so as soon as I get that location set we'll have the day set but it's a few months that week um to make an
attempt to you know pull a couple more it was successful for his last time so hopefully it'll be successful this time we ended up getting 100 compliance all three days 11 which just means we're meeting our evaluations done on time maintenance of effort is a huge report that takes all three districts that myself and it just opened today so that will be the big undertaking in between the 400 audits I feel like we've had as a district um and fitting them all in but foreign [Music] program Bridges is actually losing its location for next year yeah they gave us a year notice um so we've got to put the feelers out with Bobby Skipper and just some like anybody know I read Danny Burke not that long and they're all beginning of this year and
I told her um I reached out like to Andrew Trimble who has some places we did go look at a facility not this past Sunday the Sunday before Anita came into town as well into the facility um that will need some work done but they are going to probably do the work I mean like the plan is we haven't signed any agreement we verbally committed um and it'll be in this downtown area for for a baby so that will have a bedroom slash office because they're going to like make a bed things like that but then Anita also needs an office and then have they have accessible bathrooms with even a shower and kitchen laundry all of those things so like so we have not signed on any dotted line but we've already we finally
saw a place Amber we agreed so that makes me feel really good I said if we got to December and I had no leave I was going to panic um so I'm feeling like I might not have to panic well I feel good about what we have we just like I said haven't signed on the dotted line the building right now is in the middle of a sale to the new landlord the new landlords who I've been working with so until everything falls online okay any other questions for Lindsey uh we'll go back to High School very good I've always liked seeing the partnership with donations and stuff yes pretty good which I just have to throw out there I don't know if you guys are aware and Jake plays a word but the amount
of food they've been working from like Harvesters and there's other places like that Storehouse has been much lower so those donations are really nice to help supplement their experience so you do realize he read that that we have academics built in throughout the day next Tuesday ish but it's really it'll be a it'll be an awesome day um you know our their kids may need to be rewarded so they're working hard do better if you have those on the wall to see how each each improves damage it's gonna be fun do you guys have any questions about the reality you that's um I haven't even asked and bugged but okay yeah it was yes I can't that I want to have so financial literacy is coming back around the state saying we need it at
first I think you guys all know that our kids need it um and it's a real life simulation and they're given a scenario and they have to kind of work their way through I think it's 70 minutes 90 minutes each um and so it it there's going to be frustrating kids because you know they want all the Glam and their job that they got doesn't allow them to go to the movies every night or play the video buy their videos video games and so it's a really neat uh simulation um they do a really good at 75 minutes um so it's really good so if you have time to stop in on December 14th stop in and take a look at what's going on it'll be it'll be good so are the kids been to
a tour of the wind farm so he got some stuff the kidlands um Mr Bruning if you've never been in Mr Bernie's class I would encourage you to do so um I sent him I used to teach engineering courses and um so we can write matching grants for a lot of stuff in our classrooms so like for him you said I said all right would you be interested you send them to the training and then you get a kit it really kind of just teases you and then they bring it back to the classroom so is it with the wind energy um so right now he's working teaching some electricity that goes along with this though you know he has to start somewhere we have spare Lumber where do we get lever at but we
have some spare Lumber um and so the big thing on that we can buy the kids which are okay but the whole thing with the engineering is that you want them to start from scratch and really problem solve through it so but you have to know some of the basics so right now he's working with some of the art instead of going kids are not two kids and teaching us some electricity and they can go compete so which leads I could talk for everyone I won't but um we did a survey of all the courses for our kids eighth grade through 12th and I really need to get a feel of where we're going in our pathways engineering was number one and so when we take a look at that and so that's why you
know site Capital we weren't just quite there to have these conversations we didn't have the data is what what are we not offering our kids and so first of all we also um surveyed our our staff because our staff has more they have multiple endorsements um so how do we make what staff we have fit the needs of our kids as well without teaching them so right we don't want our teachers to just if we ever extended in that manner so there's a lot of things we'll be looking at in our Pathways that we aren't offering to see if we can fit some of those in for when you have 60 some kids that are interested in engineering some type of engineering you need to pay attention to that over the Long Haul so it
was the largest it was the largest one of the bad and then house clients with second and agriculture was third so we know those those would be in business so those top four and which can be a lot combined adding business then Finance all that stuff can be combined together so anyway blood or two voices yeah those do go out through I do email them out through our Skyward to the parents so hopefully you guys get those and your parents are at the high school and then through everbridge so there's there's yes yes and that's um absolutely I can email them out out to the board and then I don't have to attach them which is yeah absolutely and then on guidance and career I I we don't talk about our custom Department enough um
senior scoop also Crystal does a junior one and you guys if you click on it opens up to Media it is everything if you were a parent of a kid of when things are due and when they need to apply I mean step by step and then also the monthly I guess the monthly classroom does that so um yeah I wish when I was in high school I can also really done something like that yeah it's a Saving Grace when you have a kid that's James yeah this is crazy yes every week and our kids we have a community lunch by and this is awesome it was good and so this was the last thing because I have families on it but it said let's do this 500. the t41 lottery the teachers are like
when are the teeth it's not the big incentive they got last year but maybe we could start doing that right and then the Showcase we want to talk about that a little bit oh yeah we just do it once a month showcase one coach one uh male athlete and one female athlete that stood out and the coaches nominate I choose who the coach is and then the coaches nominate who the kids are and as kids that are performing well not just like it's not a star football player the star volleyball player somebody who's doing something great on a team but also succeeding in the classroom and doing like for this month it was the two girls who organized the entire entire Powder Puff events the first one I guess we've had in a long time
and it was a huge success and they put a lot of work into it kids got really excited about it and so it's just kids that do that are athletes but do a lot more off the court off the field off the mat whatever it is and don't necessarily always get recognized for it let's try to shout them out at the end of every month and let the coaches have a have a voice and who gets shouted out as well foreign group is going to be able to go to some competitions up in Washburn here coming up and so we're getting the information on that it's free somebody love that and the upcoming events I think that's what she was going to do is you know do a snapshot of that and put it on
social media stuff but you get that it's just where people go maybe we want to be yeah on Facebook or not that's just where people go yeah you know like people all the time well what's the score what's the score I mean they just you know oh yeah we do have two girls right now at uh National forage comedian s and ironically right after I put this article out there was an accident and then Mr Wilson also had to do it it's a real shame thank you no one had any sympathy either they always said welcome to Kansas and it's not Mr Wilson hitting the deer the deer hit Mr Wilson I think that was the bigger as we know went to your accidents that's usually the way it works yeah girl one I love
that was unbelievable I was there too crazy the greatest athletic feet so far this year winning the evening contest it is the hottest hot wings oh my gosh just one we did that I did the one on Mental Health we do have Kathleen Elliott is our work as a social worker for us and also the middle school students and academics and social work um her caseload is hitting um full I say full we are using the Sip team process to refer and that she works with our students on the campus as well and that's going really well kids are very comfortable and so we have that outrageous with our kids I say thank you and another family well as I got here and it is it has been kids are I know kids want to
talk about it they want somebody to reach out to and it just gives them another Avenue so I I just appreciate that for our kids to have that opportunity so as an interventionist position that we created we're working with 245 and as far as with the special ed Cooperative half the salary is coming from Special A Cooperative the other half is coming from Professor funds in the next two years and Kathleen is doing a terrific just got it I say she's got a good number of kids and families she's working with so it's been a huge Plus okay any other questions or comments for the hiking room capable of launching superintendent's report oh technology report I'm sorry yeah come on no internet questions for Craig on his report do you need anybody else to did
you already have the meeting with Sheriff Johnson and I'm sure Smith or is that coming up uh we we already had that meeting oh I'm sorry okay that's not for create coolness for me right okay um oh with my with my reporting I guess any other that's so wrong technology thank you okay okay American educational weekends this week again just cannot thank our our staff and them for everything that they do uh and you guys are also a part of that as well and we've got uh tumblers for the staff that are really nice with our branding or our traditional Wildcat on there so again thank you to our staff they just I say vent terrific and continue to do great things uh that's the best part of my day when I get to go
into the buildings and see the teachers teaching and students learning it's one pictures I should as I said the most fun that I have so again thank you to everybody and we'll have a couple of other items this week for week you look at that document there's a lot of incredible things that we're doing here and and it's just not um by accident there's a lot of people involved with what's happening in in Burlington and the excellent things that are happening and like I said James and I went to the kasb conference you may mention that in the board items here later but you go to other you guys say you go to other places like you did for leadership for tomorrow and you also go to other you know like events like kasb and
you talk to other people and you feel good about what you have here and then also when you see some things that they're trying to do at some of these sessions that you go to watch and you're like saying to yourself we're doing that already it makes you feel really good about yourself so again the keysa document I'm not going to go over everything you guys understand the accreditation piece it's a five-year cycle and then it starts back over next year will be to show that we are doing a really good job here in our district so um the star awards um I shared with you a a letter from Dr Watson so we received some star awards it's always nice to get some recognition from the state so academically prepared for graduation we have
a copper award which means we're at the state average of 49.9 I think we'll be in even better shape as we move forward here with some of the things that are happening here at the high school with some of the pathways and so on and so forth we may even improve on that internships pathways um again just uh you know just to keep kids more interested and and keep that uh that piece going for for them you know as they move forward with their academic career graduation rate silver rate which means we're between 93 and 94.9 percent at Burlington High School and then the post-secondary affected Miss bronze that means we're between 50 and 59.9 of our students they are in the industry recognized certification while in high school or they earn a post-secondary certificate
they could earn a post-secondary degree or students that are enrolled in post-secondary classes in the first are students our staff at all buildings elementary middle and high school everybody contributes to these awards that we receive and our families in the community and the emphasis that we all put on education so it's nice to have our culture of Excellence recognized by the state department so we'll get some information now to the Coffee County Republican for a promotion of that as well um and then the last item I just kind of came up with this site Council linkage if you could pull up that first at Coffee County Parking layout three document okay we had multiple meetings over what's going to happen when construction begins to happen so that for the Justice Center so to give you
a quick rundown the area where you had the the old church that's been demolished and that's been leveled out there's going to be a parking lot that will go there and that's going to be coming sometime before construction can start at the Justice Center they're hoping that that's going to be done before March tentatively the the county is hoping that again they'll start breaking ground and going into construction mode sometime in March so with that being said that creates an issue with the elementary school and potential the construction right here close to the building and the parking lot so uh that we have the angle parking and then the circle uh hug and go drop off so we've had meetings again Sheriff Johnson under Sheriff Smith Mark Davidson at the from the city uh streets
um our our group Darla uh Brad Griffin myself margarito Solano and so with that being said um kind of give you an idea of what this is going to look like so there were some pictures uh hopefully that can be increased Maybe thank you thank you there we go okay so so think in terms of I want to say um Eighth Street which would be the street west of the elementary school there's nothing going to change on 8th Street you know we'll shoot another picture up here in a little bit now off of Neosho Street to the north where our digital display is and the tree line is the sit and this is not going to be at our cost no cost to us at all the city should be the county you get that
right and Darla please China something and the county is going to pay to put in about 30 parking spots where they're going to take out the grass area and that'll be from the street to the sidewalk and they're going to put in about 30 parking spots along Neo show they'll be angle parking spots it's not I mean we're not it's not we're not totally in love with this idea but it's it's the best option that we possibly have to add that parking that we're going to need when everything starts to happen and we'll talk about why here in just a minute so again parking will come up to that sidewalk then if you go to 7th Street there that 7th Street that's kind of the in between um like I say the Courthouse parking and
and our building there and that's along where you come up and do the Circle Drive where the hug and go it shows on this picture that there's going to be some parking spots just right to the I'm going to say right to the west of the construction for the new Justice Center that's not going to happen there are no parking spots there maybe some angled parking spots and it will occur if if they if they move the building closer which they've just gotten permission to do move the the construction closer to the existing courthouse so there could be some angle spots there but it will not impact that street 7th Street not impact that street and our worry was that we were going to all of a sudden lose a main artery for drop off
and pickup they are going to limit any type of work as far as construction goes they won't will not have any type of work on like for example big heavy dump trucks and things like that for might say seven in the morning to 8 15 in the morning no traffic on 7th street or from we're going to say 2 30 to 350 or to 3 30 during the pickup so we're going to actually that that turned out better than what we anticipated they will not that that will still be ours to access and to use now the one thing we probably won't have is that angled parking there here because when they start to work and construction starts to happen there's going to be dust flying it's going to be dirty around there they'll be
heavy equipments going along 7th Street there and you just don't want cars to get damaged by heavy equipment so that's where that 30 parking spots on the o-show essentially we trade out for the 17 to 20 angle spots that are right there on 7th street I'm going to stop there do you have any questions up to this point so far yeah well it it is but um but it's it's bad I'll tell you what it's better than what it could be because it could be Niagara we could be parking on Niagara Street over I'm going to say south of the playground the Elementary playground or south or east I'm gonna say east east of the Elementary playground on 6th Street so it's it's not the not it's not perfect but it is the best like
I said the best option that we have right now taking um grass area yeah like between the size already gone yeah because at one point they said maybe on that and there's also like two decorative plant posts and they'll build an island around that so initially it was going to be 35 spots but they're now saying like 30. so it'll basically disturbing better up to that sidewalk okay there we go we're going to show you one more picture here that one yes that one please so this one kind of this will be a little better picture of what uh uh what we're just talking about here that and I think you have an idea of it that sometimes it's best to have that picture is there any talk about so Niagara Street South of the
school is one way forever and I don't understand why it's going to talk about making that a two-way street and increasing control since they're kind of Taken ours it's uh it was brought up at our meeting and I mean may not have been happening yeah you were actually training I think you were you were at the conference we did discuss it briefly and and it's something that that could come up again yeah I was just instead of like the what we're going to lose in that diagonal parking so I have to walk all the way across the playground in New York if there's more parking on Niagara Street where there's sidewalks and grass between the road there that could easily legal parking too so I will tell you this and this I I learned a
lot from this process originally I was told that the angle parking on the Sixth Street East of the Elementary playground I've told I was told that that was ours but it's not it's the cities I was told that the parking off of Niagara south of the Elementary playground was ours it's not it's the cities and honestly it's the people across the street that use it they use it for parking they use it more than probably well I shouldn't say more than we do but they use it just as much as we do so that those parking areas are not technically ours so the circled areas where that's gonna you're gonna basically that that grassy area between the Street Neosho Street and the the sidewalk they're tearing that out they're going to build 30 spots of
proximately angle spots angle parking spots I think that they keep it in one way for safety issues I mean to keep them the flow traffic yeah flow of traffic is a little bit slower because it's by an elementary and for safety yeah there's a lot of drop off from pickup on Beyond in my industry so that one-way traffic at least you know you don't have to try to get across two lanes play frog or so to speak and try to get safely process well and I think we'll do that because it's a small Street I didn't know if there was improvements in the city could do to it maybe the larger street that would be careful too but yeah yeah right so it would be improved we're getting our access to the daycare effective at
all diet it will not be because again drop off some pickups uh uh would be well I guess it could have been in the middle of a day possibly they may not have the access to the west side of the daycare they may have to park on the long stretch of parking there it's along the fence line right but they'll still be able to access and get into the daycare is that our parking yes that is our parking and another thing I was told too and I I didn't I was told that the county owned 7th Street in between the Courthouse and the elementary school I just found out recently from the city that that technically is ours yeah it should be it to me it should be the city and then Seventh Street between
or excuse me Des Moines Des Moines Des Moines between the Courthouse and the daycare I was told that that was the counties it's not so anyway so we're learning a lot from this process uh information I will say this Tom Johnson and Aaron Smith have been terrific to work with Mark Davidson terrific to work with we all put our heads together tried to come up with the greatest situation this is this is as good as we can come up with right now so I don't know if you have any other questions or if you have other thoughts later on please share them because it's not set in stone Tom Isaac Tom and Eric Mark have been terrific to work with and we're willing to listen to anybody friends okay I don't have but I think
that's it that's it for me except two quick things we will have um we will have a groundbreaking ceremony for the the turf project on November 29th I'll get you a specific time for that I want to try to do something uh you know for that that project uh on a positive note too I just inform you again things are happening Fast and Furious and busy as can be I shared with you in Friday notes that the board the rec center board is contributing three hundred thousand dollars towards our project which is incredible absolutely incredible I'll be 30 000 a year for ten years where they'll look to pay it off sooner and so Scott Jeffers and his board should be commended and thanked for for that they want to see the project just as
much as we do they see a lot of benefit for this so again November 29th I'll share a specific time if you can make it there'll be a chance to do if I say a PR photo op for that with with the rec center people being involved as well they're bored and then I'm gonna throw this way out in advance November 10th through 12th next year that's the kasb conference November 10th through 12K SE conference I'll send that to you if you can make it it's a really good experience guys it really is and um yeah so I'll stop there huh we're moving that up a month yeah it used to be in December now they've moved it yes they've moved it to November it was almost 600 people so yeah finally it was terrific
and we'll share maybe I don't know if James wants to show anything now but we'll share some information later in Friday notes as well okay that's all I've got thank you one thing I had to kind of a question called on the Kansas Star recognition for toast that they're Effectiveness that doesn't include our students that didn't go to the military right like correct so I thought they should be obviously committed for doing that but that is something that if someone chooses to go to the military they're not counted for this public segmentary yeah absolutely the state is working on a formula it's kind of that the military can come and get the names but then they won't share anything with it you know and share anything um so we bought that ever since this came
out so when I was working with KSD and going around with them um same thing like we talked about the farmers and the kids who go back on the work online how do we how do we do that we have can do that so they're working on something so that in a report someone we would report that that it would reflect them as a successful student right right and that's kind of what I was going to say that that's a bronze yeah but we have so many more kids coming out of things that don't correct right and I can think of one local graduate just two years ago then that's running his own business that we're not necessarily account for a quote unquote post-secondary you know Effectiveness but they're they're yeah there's other things that
need to be included in there in the military is one zone together good good thoughts any other questions comments versus nintendent Report with the parking and the uh move on to the another report card review oh yes building report card I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this just simply because um the the principals do this during the results monitoring report ing that so anyway having said that the information is there if you pull up that website you'll look and you'll see if you just dig in you can dive in a lot of different areas the building principles have done this and then and they're doing continuing to do this I'm always looking for assessments whether it's mappers and map results or state assessment results or act data or whatever graduation you
know you know as far as graduation numbers and so on and so forth our state assessment again we don't again we don't live in the world where we're just focusing on state assessments and data assessments only as you know but you can look and see our data lines up very similarly to the states if you go on that website and you see some numbers that are again very similar as far as for math English language arts you can change that uh that uh that subject and a little drop down menu there to the right but but our data our our numbers line up uh let me say very similar to the states and they're constantly evaluating information in the building um you know with the students and a reminder that on a two on state
assessment some people want to say that two is a failing number when you have a five point a five-point rubric it's a little bit easier abcdf sometimes people think that way with a four-point rubric some people want to say two and one are failing no that's not the case two is is is a very strong it's an understanding of the concepts three and four are strong understandings and you can set an understanding of the concepts and skills and things and as far as that subject area goes two is not a failing grade so to speak it's not it is not and what you're trying to do is you're trying to move ones to twos they're not going to probably go from one's divorce but you move ones to twos twos to threes threes to Fours
keep the force as is that's what the goal is but again reminder we we are not solely focused and especially this the list goes on and on and on as far as a successful student so I don't know if you have any questions on the on the report card information we're lining up very similarly to the state and the building principles are constantly evaluating and looking at individual students in grade levels and there'll be more specific information coming out the results reported starting December is when our first I think our first results report is December okay any questions regarding the Builder report card review look forward to hear the portion of the upcoming months looks like move on to the Border ports that's great said I I went to the um maybe illegal every year
to the state tour uh I I really highly recommend everybody trying to attend that as much as they can they have a lot of attendance and board members this year that they haven't had in the past uh but there's so much to learn I mean some of these reports Etc and how you read them and just whole assessments and just hearing other people what problems they're having and I gotta say I'm extremely proud to be immersed in here and see if there's still things we have and really though we have our issues I mean golly with staff and students it's it's actually it's a great place to be so uh I can't compliment the staff well enough or the administration it's it's really good so it's it's nice to hear do that when you go
places I did have uh just one comment this is kind of a observation I noticed that the EPA did about a grant that paid for electric buses Nationwide the close district Southern Line County received I think 1.4 million dollars to buy Ford electric school buses I don't know what the plan is I just saw a newspaper that was interesting that Grant is available year after year however there are preferred school districts and we do not fall River School Districts Lane but as time moves forward and enables everything involves I thought I was kind of hoping we would be one of those preferred districts so we just look at something like an in-town bus plus that really wouldn't leave the city district or the city limits nacho Gaffigan's Corners where we said they're helping diesel fumes
all day but it was just kind of an idea something I observed from one of the other locals yeah I think I think I'll be interested to see how Sutherland County is their succession so I didn't know if it came with the infrastructure for moving those like terms into medical schools or whatever I didn't know but I might reach out to them through the future see how that works actually yeah sure any other questions or comments before reports we move on to Capital outlay review okay this is yearly let me look at this uh and then we'll look at it a little bit later in the school year so I I shared with you some information that should look familiar from past years uh there's a few different items in there that we look at
as far as the you know the different projects that we're working on again a reminder that we did you know again reduce from quietness back to four Mills on our Capital outlay because again that was something that we said we would do and get much appreciated from the community to support that you as well as a board to support that one mill for five years and we've got a lot out of that one bill for five years guys timing was excellent for us otherwise it could have been very very expensive for us if we didn't do it when we did that so you know those projects at elementary middle in high school um again I'm starting to expand from five to seven years now with the capital outlay Pro Plan just simply because there are
a few things like the project for example the exterior exterior work that we looked at with a Restoration company they slotted out some work that could be done exterior wise in seven years so I'm going to throw that in so we're going to start not only five but year six and year seven as some projects come up I will say this the work that we've done to keep things you know taken care of here in the district especially with the exterior of our buildings uh the gentleman who came to just give me an oversight of how how and when we were you know what we're going to have to do you know what it's going to look like here in the next five to seven years was very very complimentary that our buildings look great
we are going to have our most pressing need I will say this at the football stadium and that's in the capital outlay plan the football stadium is not in good shape as far as the the the the the the exterior caulking ceiling um oh gosh tough pointing and so on and so forth that's that's a project that's going to have to have to occur if not you're going to start to see some crumbling and deterioration out there that's not going to be good it's going to cost even more um you know to take care of it if you don't take care of the restoration piece then it becomes Construction and restoration that's going to be somewhere haven't gotten a final quote because the quote I got was last year for that somewhere that 83 000
range so if you look at the capital outlay documents down below I think there's five there's one from last year one currently and then three years out and we've got the the others again just extending out to even further into seven years as well and they're um like I say that they are again they're they're they're being being constructed as time goes on and we're adding to those documents so uh anyway so having said that that that's going to be something that I say that that's that's an important thing the exterior piece again we have some leaking in the water that's getting down to the underneath the football stadium and it's not it's kind of puddling up we're going to hopefully keep the water out from underneath the base the base of our stadium that
way we won't have you know deterioration or Foundation issues down there so uh I again I'm sharing with you what those documents look like I've shared with you uh like I say information in the past about this again projects a number of projects are on them and and we may move them bump them we may not do them I mean there's I think there's one for baseball softball parking when we do that or if we ever do that it's at least on the plan so again the plan doesn't mean 100 we're doing it or 100 we're doing it that year so I don't know if you have any questions specifically about any of the information Berkeley or size we'll just say everybody's in because there's nowhere near we we um the school districts all over
are eight Mills because they can I mean I shouldn't say all or there's a lot of school districts that are at eight Mills because they need it one of our league schools for example I can tell you so just again one meal for us will generate in the neighborhood of about 490 dollars give or take a few dollars our 57 590 thousand dollars one meal for us there's one school district in our league that eight Mills generates about five hundred thousand that's why they're doing that that's a bad district has that bond has had a bond issue recently of over 35 million dollars so again they're not only paying the local taxes but they're also paying that Bond 15 20 25 years however long they do that fine people here in this community have got
to realize how lucky We Are we almost do like many Bond issues every year to keep our facilities up so that we don't have to do a major bond issue and tax the taxpayers even more so so that yeah we're we're the Envy of everybody matter of fact there was one of the sets of aesb we talked about budget and finance and they brought up Burlington it was like I don't say our name but are Mill lebbies one of the lowest if not the lowest it was the kasb last year when we started the kasb leadership for tomorrow um and we reduced our bill Levy again this year not just by the one meal that we dropped off but even more that's unheard of in a lot of places it's also a good thing because
because we can go out go out and brag but we've got to promote what we have and what we've done with it so it's uh you know it's it's actually been good also so if there is law school are very interesting so again remembering too again with four Mills whether it brings in approximately again it varies from year to year so it's based on assessed valuation so four Mills brings in about 2.3 to 2.4 million dollars for us in Capital outlay alone when you start to look at the last couple of years on the capital outlay documents you'll notice they start to decrease amounts start to decrease 23 24 goes down again approximately what we've got spent there you know again things will change and things will move but that's going to be under that
two point uh 2.3 to 2.4 million when you go to 24.25 you get an amount spent again there'll be some things that will be added on there and so on and so forth that that amount is going to be less than that 2 3 to 2.4 we start then saving some money back for we'll have the elementary school roof at some point in time they'll have to be done and we're monitoring that that's still currently under warranty now the elementary school is rough but at some point in time there's going to be a roof project there or if depending upon January we may not have a roof to deal with there and then that's that pulls off of our Capital outlay you know plan like some of the things again for the elementary he may
pull off of the capital outlay plan depending upon the future so it's it's a moving constant adjusting document that we work on questions on a capital Ally document s anybody else anything are you still there yeah I'm here okay and if you again like Lucas mentioned if you hear some things in the community this is not just Craig Marshall doing this to Capital out by document this is we meet with the building principals to meet with margarito Brad and Amy Nelson uh food service maintenance as well as transportation and grass everybody's involved in this tomorrow we'll start to we'll actually look at the concrete bit that's what we're doing tomorrow to get prepared for a December concrete bid so just uh just kind of FY it's not just Craig Marshall if you guys have board
members if you hear Community if we're not taking care of certain things imagine bringing them up to us because we have money to do things okay let's move on to the I've heard approvals of appointments the truck bed this would be Margaritas I'll try they'll work truck uh we had a unique situation where we had three people bid on this and we had a tie we had same amount I called kasb attorneys I called the ksde finance what do you do well they they both simply drawing the amount of a header you can flip a coin and go from there with flip to point so and again this is for our old service truck that's been in the district for four of a century 97. 97. forever and margarito by the way loves his new
truck yeah oh wow it's incredible yeah it is incredible it is nice we got a lot of use out of that I'm going to approve 1997 Ford F250 pickup truck bed from Haley another miles for 1500. second maybe we can all vote card readers you know um move on to the old mower paper we had one bid and it's right there motion to bring the lower bed from House for with Prairie Land Apartments here motion second forward the old mower bed s motion path 7-0 move on to lease purchase again for the field Turf for the baseball softball football and I will say that again sometimes things are again happen fast and furious with the rec Center's donation towards our project that happening on Friday I made a little bit of an adjustment to this
I also put in an amateurization statement for both a 2.2 million and a 2.3 million lease purchase you have that again and with us communicating with Brenda at Central National Bank that information is there and with that again that adjustment we didn't necessarily plan on the third that three that 300 000 contribution but that changed things a little bit from when I when we got the board agenda out I do believe we can go from 2.3 million to 2.2 million on a release purchase that will save us some money so there's two amateurization statements on that that attachment there if you want to look at them you can kind of see what that looks like a hundred thousand dollars interested five and a quarter percent you can see it does it does add up a
little bit but it does save us money um so I do believe we can do that 2.2 million instead of 2.3 million and you might say well the right is actually given us 300 000 can't we just knock off 300 000 total remember they're only giving it to us 30 000 a year a time 30 000 a year for 10 years possibly with the option for them to try to pay that 300 000 off sooner I just don't know they don't know they have to look at their finances with that with that so having said that it's going to cut off it was going to cut it I was going from 2.3 to 2.2 million you can see it's about sixteen thousand dollars a year less payment it's going to save us an interest of
about seven thousand dollars or so approximately and if we can pay off that loan in five years which I truly believe we can it'll save us sober right about a hundred thousand dollars so with that being said that's why I would want to go with that 2.2 million lease purchase option I don't know if you have questions and Christy and I reviewed this we feel that puts us in really good situation still to be able to take care of those needs that we need and have that cash balance and Capital Health highlight for anything that happens to Papa oh my commotion entering at least Works agreement with Central National Bank Citizens National Bank First National Bank of the bank of Alex Mill for 2.2 million dollars for eight years with an early payout option in
year five for field trip projects at Wildcat Stadium Wildcat baseball field and Wildcat softball field so it should be Citizen's statements correct thank you okay thank you okay with that adjustment I'm so sorry boy sorry uh any discussion I do one question comment there are no like word origination fees or no we're not buying points or anything this is just straight interest on correct yes any other questions from this discussion we can go to our computers motion capacity six one move on to the next gen items personnel and emotionally recess in an executive session for 10 minutes to discuss the superintendent's evaluation pursuit to non-elected Personnel exception under Coleman return to open session in history at the end of that time we can join our computers currently unemployed in a minute okay we're back to
open session like one retirement to sadly accept question to accept the retirement request abdominal one with regret as high school guidance counselor at the end of the 2022-20 preschool year second does she provided on a replacement no he was active episode um vote on our computers and Donna again 17 years of service to our District 37 total wow so uh Gail hazelman's not retiring she's just resigning because they're relocating right but not retiring right motion passes 7-0 open items and debriefing I want to thank Jay again for coming in and speaking to us a lot of the things that so I've been in hibernation on Wolf Creek outage for nights for the last 40 days so some of the stuff you mentioned tonight I didn't know about so thank you for coming and bringing those
I appreciate it okay the stuff I had said Craig sent out on the new policies and stuff that ksb we voted on that so they all fast or as it was recommended by ksb so foreign [Music] to the lead guitar player he was promotionally he was uh yeah motivational speaker but he had talked about education he was the lead guitar player for Hanson how about that yeah there's a lot of stories a lot of story a lot of stories and if you got a book called pivot so that's that was incredible his story was incredible oh wow it was really you know it really was good talk about guy pivot just moved from career to Career to Career so because I said it was handsome when he was a handsome for a year or two
years yeah one of them dropped out when the financial crisp company hits yeah so if you remember Napster Edwards way back yeah he said that was during his time yeah he thought he was going to live the life of luxury Jets and and and it didn't happen you mean that he made a little he made a little bit or some good money but it didn't happen but for two years I think it's ended it yeah it's good it's eager and then we have another one talked about kids learning from kids you know their kids well how many times they smile a day 250 sometimes a day a kid smile so kids Smiles adults seven you know or something yeah I would agree I want to bring that guy too early oh yeah it was really
good I'm gonna see if I can get my colleagues to work around work we have multiple of the school districts on like two three four days like in the beginning of the year sometime during the service and the stuff that he said was just so real I mean if you just listen to it now you know okay that's all I got anything else well I so I wrote down at least one thing have we considered hiring a couple one or two full-time Subs to maybe help this I mean at least it would maybe release something and help with wherever is needed and if you hire them then you could tell them where they need to be for the day you know like if Darla needs help with the elementary maybe it's just a extra sub
here and there and everywhere so yeah we can hire a sub for each building if we wanted to it's just again are you taking those people away maybe from the sub pool that's see that and we've had that conversation but thank you for bringing it up but they all have a choice I mean you know yeah they have to come every day you know they would have benefits and they would have leave yeah but it's something that we would we would consider I mean there's something maybe to that I mean you know I just think that you know they could you know yeah it would take out the sub but cool but maybe we get them five days a week instead of three you know and then that would help yeah yeah it might be
and there might be there might be some that would be interested to buy they'll believe in the benefits and then they have like you say they would have to be they don't get to pick and choose right we may try it out I mean as they were you know I mean even we should look at the budget now and see and speaking of that I mean we we kind of talk have to pay for providing what's necessary for the kids to have the prayers and the instructors that need and so I mean it's it's everything we gotta look at everything yes and I mean that it's so much money I mean no matter where you go to daycare it is what a good thing for the most part we've done because where were those 45
kids be today I mean I went to a session I know we're a bit retina but what's a session on daycare there are so many districts trying to do what we're doing that's what we've done and then they're trying to figure it out is it's hard because they've not created some Partnerships and some grant funding and things like this that we have so anyway make a long story short that was a heavily attended session and there's a lot of people trying to do what we're trying to do and they they can't make a fake they can't figure it out well you know it's been hard I mean it's still hard Taylor's still Fire Marshal because okay thank you anything else Ranger get your tumblers
