If at any time during the meeting you'd like to mention something on the agenda item, please raise your hand to be recognized. After the normal business, there's also a time for public comment where you can bring up additional issues. The meeting is

002being recorded. We'll also announce there was an executive session conducted prior to the meeting to discuss personnel matters. With that roll call, please. >> Matthew Vignette >> here. >> Aaron Angel here. Rea Hoffman >> here. Cecilia Hull here. Uh, first item on the agenda is the approval of minutes from the May 11, 2026 schoolboard meeting. Do we have a motion? >> Please. >> Second. >> Thank you. >> Um, Mr. President, I think there is one error on the end of personnel item 11 talks about the advisor stipens for 2526 school year. Should I think that should be 26.7 school year. >> That's correct. Thank you. Thank

003you for catching that. I think on the written agenda is also one of those at the same thing uh last item on on personnel that when Brandon 26. Okay. So we'll take a vote to approve the meeting minutes with that um change made. >> Many >> yes. >> Aaron Angel. >> Yes. >> Rea Hoffman. >> Yes. >> Celia Holt. Yes. >> Jeremiah Light. Yes. >> Michael Salsbury. Yes. >> Daniel Whisperer. Yes. Yes. >> Laurel Ziggler. Yes. Jason Cup. >> Yes. Motion carries. We can take four, the treasures report. It's five, approval of bills for payment together. So, I'd like to I'd like to have a motion um to approve the treasures report A through I and approval of bills for payment A through G. Do we have a motion? >> So, move Sabler. >> Second.

004>> Thank you. Any questions or comments there? >> Roll call, please. >> Aaron Engel. >> Yes. >> Reba Hoffman. Yes. >> Cecilia Holt. Yes. >> Jeremiah Light. >> Yes. Michael Sailsbury, yes. >> Daniel Whisperer, >> yes. >> Laurel Ziggler, yes. >> Matthew Beign, >> yes. >> Jason Gup, >> yes. Motion carries, thank you. Six is communications and Mr. Phil. >> Yeah, we have some guests here this evening. Uh, first we'll go to the superintendent report. Since school is out, um, just want to focus on two really important end of the year activities. Obviously, we had a They're going to do a superintendent report first, Dr. Myers. Yeah, I'm >> a whole separate. >> Yep. Right below it. Many were here this on May 28th to celebrate graduation. Um let's go ahead to the next slide.

005We had a beautiful evening. Got a little bit cool but otherwise it was a beautiful evening uh for graduation had students our traditional students and families participate in our traditional parade down Main Street which has become such an essential part of the event. It's a way that we get to celebrate where families get to be involved with students for that part of the evening as well as the community and represents really a culmination of a entire community celebrating our students and their and their success of graduating. You know, the number of parties that are involved, everyone from of course our police department, the mayor's office who lead the parade, all of our fire departments, Ktown University for their assistance. Um we didn't use their parking lot this year but always as an offer and uh

006local businesses and families come out to celebrate with us. before parading into our stadium to celebrate the graduates of the class of 2026. And um after a few fantastic student speeches and our distinguished alumni, Dr. John Sigfrieded sharing his background and perspective as a worldrenowned economist. Um we saw the class of 2026 celebrate a successful high school career and commencing on to the next part of their life. Uh so the high school did a fantastic job uh organizing the event as always. Special thanks to Mr. Brett, Mr. Sali Smith, Mrs. Schumacher, and the entire high school team for really coordinating a beautiful, beautiful evening and event and just so excited to be celebrated with our families and our students. Just before that event, I think on the 26th, there also was the BCTC senior recognition.

007Um I think Softman, did you want to share any details from the the senior recognition? >> It was fun. >> No, it was it was a great time. I really enjoy it every year. Um the really cool thing this year that they did, if you see there's one gentleman right there with the cap on. Um so there were five kids that could not attend their own uh graduations because they were going to uh to nationals for their competitions. They changed the competitions uh time so they were going to miss walking. I get so emotional. Sorry. Um so they had like a special little ceremony for those five kids. So it was really cool to see like five kids and they're up and down got to get handed their diploma walk across the stage. Um but

008no, it's always a really fun time if anybody ever wants to join me next year to and there were a couple got of our students that I got pictures of. scrolled Dr. Myers. There's a few more pictures. >> They're just some of them that you know our own students from here. So, congrats to them. >> Yeah. I mean, in through 10th through 11th grade, all these students spend just as much time roughly at BCTC as they do here on campus and get to celebrate their senior recognition uh before moving on to, you know, just looking through the group. It's a mixture of going on to post-secary education into the workforce um with the skills certifications that they've earned through BCTC. So, congratulations to the entire class of 2026. It was fun celebrating with you and

009your families and best wishes. That's it for the superintendent report. Now, uh Mr. still softball program. This is always a very exciting time of year. Graduation, all the end of the year ceremonies, the prom, so many great things going on as we conclude this school year. Again, we're back here celebrating a lot of great things that happened during our spring athletic season. So, want to take some time to recognize some of our student athletes, our coaches that have accomplished so many great things this year. We'll start off with our softball team. U we have some representatives from our team here. Some of our back five freshman lineup steal that from Michigan, but um we have five freshman that was way back when back in the 90s, but uh we have five freshman in the starting

010lineup this year on our softball team. um and just a lot of all the things that they were able to accomplish this year. I think so the league and district three by surprise, but if you ask any of them, they're not surprised at all by it. Um with the amount of preparation of work that they put into into this season. Um so just to kind of give you an idea of what they were able to accomplish this this year. This is our second year in Burks Division 3. We were in Burks Division 4 uh forever prior to this. We elected to move up and we're going to continue to do that going into the next scheduling cycle. So if you count division championship this year in Burks 3, we also won a division championship last

011year in Burks 3 and the prior three years we were Burks division four champions. So this program for the last five years has won their division. They were nine and two this year 21 and six overall. Again Burks division three champs. Five years in a row division champions back-to-back Burks County champions. Um, what an exciting run of the Lions this year. The first two playoff games against exit and Fleetwood for a game and a half. You kept two playoff teams scoreless. You know, I don't think Fleetwood scored I think the sixth inning of that game. So between Exit and Fleetwood, you guys did a tremendous job. And then the championship game against Wilson was one of the most exciting games that I've watched for a long time. You know, brought it back on board. There

012was two heavyweights going at it. So that was just so exciting. and and and what a great night. Backto back first county champions district 3 3A runners runners up and qualifying to those state playoffs again for for another year. So so many great things that u that we're here to celebrate and also one of our reps here tonight. Savan got 100 strikeouts this year. I think that happened in the championship game right Wilson. Um JJ Garris uh she recorded 100 hits as well for her career. There's some individual accomplishments for the girls this year. And then in the postseason for Burks County all-star recognition, we had Jay Fitzgerald named to the allconerence team uh her second time in three years. Freshman year she got it as well. And then named for the Burks division three

013team, we had Savannah Fweiler, uh Jaras, and Felicia Oel. And then Burks Division three honorable mention Kai Burrell, Ava Cuts, uh Ella Parker, and Clara Schnore. So, congratulations to you guys and to all your teammates for an outstanding year. Uh, we have some uh little gift from the athletic department, from the school district, something to kind of remember this season by all. Let's see right in the front here. I'll let you take the bubble wrap off. So that is something for each member of his team. All the coaches are getting one too. Salman Buuna is getting one as well. Something to take back is she did a great job as our team manager this year. >> Savannah, I'm sure cute is what he was going for. >> That's what I wanted to hear. But again,

014just uh just uh just to recognize all the girls on the team this year. So, we had Pton Ziggler who was a freshman, Ava Cuts junior, Claire Schnore junior, Savannah a freshman, Jade is a junior, Ka uh another freshman, Gabby Parker a freshman, Carrie Bos line, uh a freshman, Kaylee Scheler a freshman, Alexis Montana, a sophomore, Riley Naraki, a sophomore, JJ Harris, a senior, Kira Boyer, Kira Buoyer, a freshman, and Alicia, a senior. So, only two seniors on this team. um and so many girls coming back. So I think Burks County and District Free and PIAA are on this for the next few years. What this team is is capable of. So congratulations to to you guys. Coach, we have so the extra BS County Championship medals. I'm sure you can go home with one.

015We did not have enough the night of the championship game. So Coach Conrad was the only one who didn't get one put around, but we got him one now. So, you can take that along with but I'll make sure to get you guys all your trophies here. So don't >> Yeah, I know. >> And then Yeah. >> And we'll make sure that the rest of these get the rest. I'm not sure if you want to take those with you or we can leave them here and come in, >> but we can figure that out. >> Yeah. >> But again, congratulations to our softball team this year. You guys have some travel ball coming up. Did you guys miss a practice to be here tonight? >> Nope. >> But I heard guys talking about Port this

016weekend? >> Yep. >> All right. Well, good luck. We got Mustangs travel team and then >> Northwest Florida. >> Oh, okay. All right. Well, >> okay. >> All right. Well, good luck in all your travel teams and uh again, congratulations, guys. >> Congratulations on incredible season. I think the energy that you kind of create getting through these postseason runs is really I think unmatched in in some in our other team sports. Um remember talking to coach very shortly after last season's run and all the seniors graduating and yeah maybe there's little rebuilding and he had a way of saying yeah sure but we got there's there's reinforcements coming and you know known it was going to take a little bit while to figure figure it out. um his confidence in the group coming up to

017fill some of those holes. And now um just congratulations on a great season. You got two big holes to fill next year, but we have confidence that we just reload here in Kutztown. That's that's what we do with softball. And uh I enjoyed the fab bio reference. But I don't know if there's a >> we're in that generation, but we understand >> we are. I don't know if there's like a stylistic, you know, I started wearing black socks and a wristband around my knee. All kinds of things have came out of the fab fight. So I don't know. think about how you can impact athletic fashion locally. Congratulations. Thank you for representing district the way you do and represent yourselves. >> Thank you. >> Keep it rolling, coach. Let's go. >> All right. And now

018moving on to another great accomplishment this year. So, thank Clara with her busy schedule was able to be here with us tonight. Um certainly so many things that she was able to do this year and throughout her entire track and field career. Um it has just been tremendous watching her all the way from middle school track and that first that first meet freshman year at the district three championships in Shippenburg. Seeing you go from there and all the hard work and that progression that you put in and to see you grow as a student athlete throughout those four years and accumulate all the awards and recognition that you did and and it kind of um you know kind of cap off the season that you had this year at Shippensburg had a very rainy championship

019meet this year. So I think Friday was the better of the two days. both. >> They were both talking really about it. um just the mindset that he was so impressed with you is that you embrace that adversity going into that Saturday meet at the PIAA championships where the rain is coming down and I'm not I don't know if the quote is right but basically you said that you love jumping in that weather where probably so many of the girls that were competing that day were looking at that those types of conditions and wondering how they were going to get through it, how they were going to compete at their best and you went out and you just did what you have been doing for many years to add Chippenberg. You just knocked it out

020of the park and the weekend before the free championship. So, just to kind of give a rundown of what Clara has done, not only this year but throughout her career in track and field. So she was a four-year varsity letter winner, county qualifier all four years, district qualifier all four years, state qualifier for junior and senior year, team MVP in nth grade, leadership award in 11th grade, team captain 12th grade, all conference honors for triple jump in nth grade, all division three honors for high jump and long jump in nth grade, honorable mention in triple jump and long jump in 10th grade, division three honors for triple jump and long jump in 11th grade. And in ninth grade, she was the county champion in the triple jump. In 11th grade, county champion in the triple

021and long jump. 12th grade, county champion in the triple jump. At the district three meet in 11th grade. District three champion in the triple and long jump. And again in 12th grade, district champion in the triple and long jump. At the state meet in 11th grade, she placed fifth in the triple jump. And this year, her senior year, the PIAA state champion in the long jump. and third place in the triple jump. You hold the school record and the BCIA record in the triple jumps and the school record, Burks County record and the district 32A record in the long jump and you're the PCIA girls track and field athlete of the year. Congratulations. I'd like to present this to you. You want to come up? This is on behalf of not only the school district

022but Mr. Hoffman and Mr. Ashman put this together for you. So beautiful piece of woodwork that they did that for you. So congratulations there. >> Thank you sir. >> And also I received these certificates in these are from the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association. Your all state award certificates for a long jump and triple jump this year. Congratulations Claire. And in addition to all that, saludiatoran of the class of 2026. So in that laundry list of incredible athletic accomplishments, also just performing at the top at absolute top of the class um academically and um Dr. Dr. Campbell and I were walking down the hall today outside the cafeteria and you have the Hall of Fame plaques and he kind of stopped and started reading them and you know you have a long athletic history

023of success here in Kutztown and um he just started reading some and some of the accomplishments of people and we the comment led to like you really can take hall of fames athletic hall of fames in schools really anywhere and you could start to create like categories and if you took them like a pyramid and had the largest group at the bottom all the way to the top and then there's like in that top group. Clar angle would be a part of that top group. Whatever that very very small group of the highest achievements within those who have had the greatest achievements, you're in that class. And um congratulations and just an incredible incredible career. Good luck. >> Thank you very much. Thank you. >> Very good. >> Well, we are through the exciting part

024of the board meeting. So if you all feel a desire to get up and leave me go. >> Okay. From there we can move into student representative reports. Lindsay, do you have anything to see summertime? that >> it is worth uh Lindsay has served as the alternate which is the official policy name for the junior representative for the class and Lindsay will coming back for second year as the senior and uh student representing to the board. So thank you Lindsay again for your dedication. We do not have an we do not have an alternate yet identified. We're still working. >> I also have not. >> All right. Thank you. And we will move into the board committee report starting with BCTC. Does this softman here again? >> The graduation I was not at the meeting.

025>> Yeah. So, we're gonna talk about that later. >> Oh, tell you there was no meal. >> No, no. I thought I didn't know I was going to have to sit in front of an entire group of students who most I didn't know and shake everybody's hand. It was fine. I gave him a good game. That's okay. But I think you're only a nice one. Uh so the uh the the student awards um ceremony in BCT was great. There were so many kids there that were um from the Skills USA um going on to nationals down in Georgia and um a bunch of scholarships that were given out things. So it was it was really really nice program. And then the um the JSON meeting afterwards there wasn't anything out of the ordering there that

026was in there. The others are in there. Uh they did review Dr. Stford >> Stford um uh review they went over his annual review and you know we hired him for today but he's doing he's doing great stuff there really nice guy and everybody there is great to talk to and they're doing >> thank you appreciate it. >> Uh next is the BCIU Mr. I was unable to attend, but the next meeting is Thursday, so I'll be able to report on that for our July meeting. >> Great. Burks tax collection committee >> next week. >> Extracurricular and facilities committee. Mr. Lights. >> Yeah. Uh under extracurricular, we were given the spring sports review, which we saw portion of it tonight. Uh what wasn't mentioned tonight yet was that we were one of three districts in

027the entire county to have all of our athletics make it to the postseason. It was us exit and and Wilson school district. >> So that's very impressive. >> Very impressive. Um we talked about the Ktown Indoor Association and how they want to move away from being associated with the school and go on their own kind of thing. So on tonight's agenda, we have a facility fee waiver to approve for that to facilitate that. Uh then we also uh were given the update on the KS sensory playground which is also on the agenda for tonight for approval. That's it. >> All right. Thank you. >> PSPA miss. >> All right. Thanks. The only thing I have this month is um I believe it was last month I talked about the legislative platform that PSBA develops every

028year. Um and they um didn't seem that Miss Ford has an interest in putting any proposal for this year. Um but there is also a survey for individual board members that due by the 26 uh that just gauges everybody's individual thoughts as to what PSBA ought to focus on platform wise. That's it. >> Very good. Thank you. If anyone is unsure about how to access that, they can ask too. >> Sure. Y >> thank you. And then uh last is policy and curriculum. Just >> uh there were only some policy items. There's three of the board second reading tonight. Five for first reading and then the longstanding policy there for membership. I'm uh very optimistic that we might be able to to finish this one off because all members but one were present and there

029were minimal changes. We had a language change which really didn't functionally um change anything from what was in existence, but uh we were able to just put that into writing as far as having paperwork on file 24 hours before um the next meeting. And then there was one functional change where any board member can bring a nominee for a board vacancy. So those were the only things that uh eight out of nine members moved forward. Well, that was the only highlight and that's it. Thank you. >> I just want to throw add that we've mentioned it really no real impact of people but by the before we meet again the website that hosts our policies will change from board docs to a PSBA specific website that will happen on July 1st. uh we'll put out

030some information on that but also when you go to the website and look under board policies it will just link to the new website um but just want if it looks different you know in in 2026 when you click a website and it looks different our initial reaction sometimes is to question it so um that that website will change on July 1. Okay thank you uh seven is public comment on agenda items there is no one signed up so we can move into new business uh starting with A final budget. We do have A, B, and C listed. Um I it's my opinion that we look for a motion for B since that we that is what we approved a month ago in the preliminary budget. But for somebody else wants to make a motion

031for one of the others, feel free. But uh final budget adoption and homestead and farmstead resolution. It is the recommendation of the budget and finance committee that the board of school directors adopt one of the final budget options and the accompanying homestead and farmstead resolution for the 2026 2027 school year. A B and C are listed. Uh do we have is somebody going to make a motion? >> Like to make a motion that we go with C 2.8 tax. >> We have a motion for C 2.8. We have a second. Any questions or con? >> Well, I guess as I read C, that gives us a deficit of 68,5967. Um, if that would be the um direction that this board would choose to go. Um, I think there ought to be an appropriate motion following

032to um make that a budget which is level. Um, I have a couple ideas I'd be willing to throw out. the board may not like, but I guess my point is that if we're going to be a legitimate board and we're going to use funding for this school district, for the students that we have here, we cannot go into a deficit budget syndrome. So, I will against that recommendation. >> Thank you, Mr. Sp. Any comments before we take a roll call on uh the 2.8 tax? Um, I think that considering that isn't what has been recommended by the administration, considering ongoing health of the district, I won't be able to vote for that for 2.8 with their thank you. >> Not even sure it here. Everybody the board I think knows it just that the

0333.1% that we had presented last um budget finance and then also was the administration's recommendation. >> So roll call please. >> This is for city 2.8 Correct. >> Correct. You need to read that. >> As long as you're satisfied with this being >> Rea Hoffman, >> yes. >> Cecilia Holt, >> no. >> Jeremiah Light, >> no. Michael Sailsburg, >> no. >> Daniel Whismer, >> no. >> Laurel Ziggler, >> no. >> Matthew Bignyak, >> no. >> Aaron Engel, >> yes. >> Jason Cook, >> no. Motion does not carry. >> Um, so we have options A and B. Would someone else like to make a motion? >> Make the motion for option B. >> Second that. >> We have another motion for B and a second. Any questions or comments? Option B is the 3.1 tax um

034increase with a.9995 mil increase. Any comments before we have a roll call? Roll call, please. >> Just sure I got my numbers right here. We're going for B correct one. >> Cecilia Holt. >> Yes. >> Jeremiah Light. Yes. >> Michael Salbury. >> Yes. >> Daniel Whismer. >> Yes. >> Laurel Ziggler. >> Yes. >> Matthew Beck. >> Yes. >> Aaron Engel. >> No. >> Reba Hoffman. >> No. >> Jason Cook. >> Yes. Motion carries. Thank you. We can move into B which is the elimination of position. Be it resolved that the board of school director the board of directors of the presenter school district hereby eliminates the following support position for the purposes of budget reduction cost savings one full-time factorial position be further resolved by the board of directors that the superintendent is authorized and

035directed to provide written to furlow 2095 purchase of applicable law policy and that said shall become effective August 14th 2026 we have no movement Second question come with third world call. >> Jeremiah Light, >> yes. >> Michael Salbury, >> yes. >> Daniel Whismer, >> yes. >> Laurel Ziggler, >> yes. >> Matthew Beign, >> yes. >> Aaron Engel, >> yes. >> Reeba Hoffman, >> yes. >> Cecilia Holt, >> yes. >> Jason Cup, >> yes. Motion carries. C is personnel. Um it is the recommendation of the administration that the board of school directors approve the following personnel items. And we'll make note that on 15 it says approval of employee 328 section 325. And then also on 19 uh the school years listed as 2020 2025 2026 school year. It should read 2026 2027. So a motion

036to approve those items with my stated changes. Um, >> so move >> second. >> Questions or comments there? >> Roll call, please. >> Matthew Michael Salsburg, >> yes. >> Daniel Whismer, >> yes. >> Laurel Ziggler, >> yes. >> Matthew Vigny, >> yes. >> Aaron Angel, >> yes. >> Rey Hoffman, >> yes. >> Cecilia Holt, >> yes. >> Jeremiah Light, >> yes. >> Jason Cup, >> yes. culture. I think Seth just want to take one moment to comment. We do have several folks in there who are leaving the district after um giving great service to our students in our community uh including Mrs. Lawrence Kelly Smith um who served as the school counselor at Quen Area High School is is moving on to another stage in her career. just has been a great um source of

037calm and guidance for our students as well as supporting administration and wish her the best of luck. Uh the resignation due to retirement of Mrs. Amy Howard. Mrs. Amy Howard so long time social studies teacher here in the high school who um known for her dialogue with students regarding um the American history, law, psychology um and just u a foundation within that social studies department. Um, congratulations to her on her retirement and wish her the best. Uh, she will be missed. Mrs. Kenny Burrell at Greenwich Greenwood Elementary School. Mrs. Brell is the first person you see when you walk through the door. Uh, congratulations to her on her retirement. She will be with us in the building through the end through the end of the summer and then moving on to her retirement. We will

038miss Kenny very much um as the gatekeeper of Greenwood Elementary School. So congratulations to all of those retiring and best wishes to all including Mrs. Kelly Smith who is not retired. >> Thank you then B. We can do policy maintenance. Uh it is recommendation of the policy committee the board of school records approve for second the second reading adoption of the public policies one through three are listed there. I'd be looking for a motion to approve all two to take a vote on all three. >> Second was any questions or comments on those three for second? >> Yes. >> Daniel Wism. >> Yes. >> Laurel Ziggler. >> Yes. >> Matthew Vignette. >> Yes. >> Aaron Angel. >> Yes. >> Lea Hoffman. >> Yes. >> Cecilia Hol. Yes. Jeremiah Elect. >> Yes. >> Michael Salsbury. >>

039Yes. >> Jason Huff. >> Yes. Motion carries. Staying in D here, it is recommendation of the policy curriculum committee that the board of school reprove of the first reading of the following policies. And again, we have policies one through five uh listed there. There's no objections. We can take them together. And I'd be looking for motion to approve. First reading for these five policies. So my second questions or comments roll call, please. >> Laurel Ziggler, >> uh, no. >> Matthew Beignette, >> yes. >> Aaron Engel, >> yes. >> Reba Hoffman, >> yes. >> Cecilia Holt, >> yes. >> Jeremiah Light, >> yes. >> Michael Salsbury, >> yes. >> Daniel Whismer, >> yes. >> Jason Cup, >> yes. Motion carries. E is donations. It is recommendation of the administration that the board of school directors accept

040with gratitude the following generous donations. First, we have a donation for Christmas city studio in the amount of $610.80 at the Greenwich Elementary School. Uh P is Apple lease agreement is the recommendation of the administration with the board of school directors. Approve a four-year lease with Apple for combined cost of $173,610.32 and a guaranteed buyback of 26,000 for the attached. Q is our student device buyback program. It is recommendation of the administration that the board of school directors approve the student device buyback program which allows

051seniors to purchase the outgoing device assigned to them at $300 per device. Uh I'd be looking for a motion to approve. >> So move second questions or comments. How does the lease align with the other years? Mr. So the lease for seniors that would be the same at least for four years that that's the lifan that and additionally for kindergarten first grade swapping two years to get a full full four years of use out of those devices and then second to that fifth for that that fiery change. It's really great uses of of >> how does how does the cost compare to previous years? >> Oh, the cost, I'm sorry. Uh cost is uh we're buying more devices, but the Apple uh the MacBook Neo is significantly cheaper than the MacBook Air. So, it's still

052price. I have to look to confirm. I think it's it's roughly the same. Dad, didn't we talk about uh it was two years ago or whatever eliminating devices at the K1 possibly two levels? We I mean we have um there there ends up being uses for them. We we actually spent some time significant time talking about this as an administration today kind of globally as far as um reccalibrating what our our device philosophy is by grade level where in most grades they are completely essential at times even if even if we are looking to uh potentially reduce time that students are on devices um at the K12 the devices that they use are iPads and the iPads um the students it's not they don't use them that frequently but when they do having one for

053every student ends up being so valuable in that instructional design process um where we look at to reduce them to sort of a um per model which is really you know what we'd be looking at um I think we've modeled out the cost hypothetically to be a couple thousand dollar savings um just because we wouldn't be reduc we'd be reducing the numbers maybe by saying you know in a class that has five sections, maybe having one shared card per grade at those levels in Greenwich and maybe one and a half to two at at KES. We're really talking about five or $6,000 maybe, you know, and ultimately our recommendation is to maintain the level of devices to allow the teachers the flexibility with their time to make those decisions instructional where they didn't have to

054plan around each other. you know, if we're looking at a much more significant savings, I think it would it would make a lot more, you know, it would be the right recommendation. It just the savings because of the cost of iPads just isn't really there unless we were reducing them even further where, you know, it was like um I don't know what the right number would be. We're talking about $25,000. So, we probably have another different conversation than being six. My number is roughly accurate from our convers our last conversation on that, I think. Yeah. I just feel like every year I've asked the same question because I feel like every year we're buying a lot of computers and to me >> it's because of the refresh. Yeah, we're always refreshing something is is the

055reality. That's there's like 500 computers on >> 130 back videos for the ninth grade and then the rest of them be 230 uh iPads with the K coming from the the second grade >> that's 500 computers I feel like that's a lot of when we when our numbers I don't know I just I don't like the numbers honestly. Um, I guess I have to trust that you've done the numbers and and all that, but I don't I don't know. I don't like it, especially when we're raising the taxes and, you know, that deficit is 68,000 that we can't just lower the taxes, but we're buying our kids all these new equipment. Well, anyway, >> from the >> vote for it, but >> from the iPad um standpoint, like you know, from our refresh cycles, we

056would be we're saying essentially we would probably repurch we'd probably purchasing twothirds of those iPads anyway, right? Roughly twothirds of them because the the ones that we have would need to be refreshed, the cycles get shorter all the time. >> And are we selling them back? like have we where's our numbers of >> so we have a actually in the in the closet right down there we have a significant problem this summer we'll be doing a a major uh tech recycling call that will you know the last time we did it uh probably that about $50,000 savings Apple now bulks into their quotes a guaranteed buyback uh this $26,000 for this one u right to go to open market uh at the end. We don't have to go with the Apple price. Often we can

057do better than Apple's guaranteed price, but that that definitely uh the resale value of the devices that is something that we capture at the portion of our time useful for us, but still fine devices. Any comments or questions we before we have a fas at this point? >> Roll call, please. >> Rea Hoffman, >> yes. >> Cecilia Holt, >> yes. >> Jeremiah Light, >> yes. >> Michael Salbury, >> yes. >> Daniel Whismer, >> yes. >> Laurel Ziggler, >> yes. >> Matthew Beyak, >> yes. >> Aaron Angel, >> yes. >> Jason Cup, >> yes. No objections. I will read them out. The handbook for classified employees June 26 is the recommendation of the administration that perform school directors approve the June 2026 classified employee handbook for the attached use the 2026 2027 ESS employee pay scale and wage increase is the recommendation of the administration that the board of

The board of school directors approved the 2026 2027 pay scale for KD classified employees attached. We have a motion for TU and Vman. >> Second, please. Any questions or comments on this? >> There's just the handbook I just want to share. You know, there's mostly updates related to some payroll situations that kind of change over time. Removal of some Graphfather language. Um and uh just one thing we're proud of because we we from listening to people about um how we can uh slightly improve benefits even if it doesn't uh increase cost. Um looking for our support staff uh who

061have are not eligible for vacation days but have sick time without adding additional time but allowing some flexibility in that sick time for say if you had 10 sick days that up to three of those could be used as paid time off. um you know over the years we have some longtime employees who might be 10 months they don't get vacation and they might have to take a no payday to go to a special event because they don't want to falsify it and say it's a sick day. So just listening to people about ways that we could you know uh use that flexibility make it a little bit more desirable happy to to see us get some of those things in hand. Excellent. Any other questions or comments on the pay scale in the handbook
