I understand we have no public comments this evening, so we'll move on to resolutions. We have four resolutions under personnel. I did want to mention the contract with IBXIBC. I know you all got an email on this. I did want to mention, as it happens every year, it seems, EBA advisors who handles our medical benefits did not get the new quotes from Cigna until April. Cigna came in substantially with an increase and we were advised to change to X IBC. The three board presidents did meet and agreed to the change earlier so that EBA could move forward with the contracts. This resolution formally... approves the change in providers. And under A4, I just want to mention that

all full-time and part-time employees will be getting a 4% increase this coming school year. Any questions on any of those resolutions? Okay, could I have a motion to adopt resolutions A1 through 4, please? So moved. Thank you. Second? Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Sorry to interrupt, but there's background noise. I don't know if everybody else is hearing it. I am. I just don't know who it might be. Thanks. Okay. Under special education, we have three resolutions. B3 is an approval to enter into a contract with Weisberg, Hart, and Kramer. And I'm just going to have John say a couple words on this resolution to explain it before we vote. Mr. Sawyer, please. Sure. So in this particular situation, relevant to the student, our... Current firm that represents us for special education, McKenna Snyder,

they also potentially represent the approved private school that we are working with this family on. And so they are technically conflicted out relative to that in certain decision making and recommendations. And so they have asked us to appoint another firm for working with this particular situation. Okay. Thank you. yep thank you anybody have any questions on that okay could i have a motion to adopt resolutions b one two and three please so moved thank you second second all those in favor aye aye aye opposed okay under academic we have three resolutions um any questions on them this evening Okay. Could I have a motion to adopt seed one, two, and three, please? So moved. Thank you. Second? Second. All those in favor? Aye. Aye. Okay. Under board considerations, we have three resolutions this evening. The

first one is a commendation to AMP, and we'd like to thank them for all their hard work. year on behalf of our students and staff they do a great job and provide many activities for for our kids and we're always thankful for the job that they do and also I want to mention d3 we actually have a student attending the state track and field championships in Shippensburg University and this is quite an accomplishment especially with this sport just getting underway at the school. So we wish him well and hope that he brings home a trophy. Do I have any questions on D1, 2, and 3? Could I have a motion to adopt, please? So moved. Second? Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Okay, under operations, we have five resolutions. Anybody have any questions on

them this evening? All right. Could I have a motion to adopt, please? So moved. Second. Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? And under technology, we have five resolutions. Any questions on those? Okay. Could I have a motion to adopt, please? So moved. Second. Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Okay, Mr. Thompson, you're up with your report, please. Great. So schools currently are receiving all its revenues on a timely basis, currently being paid for 1,294 students. 007any questions i'd be glad to answer them thanks mike does anyone have any questions for mike Okay, could I have a motion to approve the controller's report, please? Second. Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Okay, Mr. Sawyer, your report, please. Hi, so welcome to May. I think everyone's excited to count down the end of the school year. It's been a lot of eventful things over the last course of the second half of this year, this semester. I feel like every day there's an exciting activity at all of our schools. One of the amazing things I think to note about MAS 3 is how over the last few years... Not only has this replicated a lot of the great activities like the restaurant days and the performance shows that are happening, but just the day-to-day

feel of the school has really come a long way. And so as we're thinking about the next five years and strategically mapping those things out, we started to have a lot of conversations around our future project, which in that building we're thinking about what the high school looks like, how we retain some of our students, what the action plan for academics looks like. what the involvement of things like cell phones and recess and AI education and jobs and everything else comes into play. So next year will be exciting because it'll be the first graduating class of the high school at Mass 3. And what we've started to do this past week, we just had a conversation about what we think needs to go into that new building. from an educational perspective, but also from an

operational perspective. And additionally, we're looking to meet with other teachers to kind of get a feel on what needs to change in the existing building as we think about the vision of that, as well as in that project includes full high school gymnasium as well. So much like the turf would be a shared resource space between schools, but in maximizing mass three's usage. We want to make sure that we're not missing anything in the site plan because I think not only is the campus on the inside come a long way, we also have things like the outdoor garden that just opened up at Mass 3. We're thinking about coverage and shade for recess, whether we need to improve things like the playground. So there's a lot of great things coming. We're in that mode right

now where we're going through the budget season, which can be stressful. We're trying to look at all the approval from tonight. And just recently in a conversation with, Mike Thompson mapping out what we need to be able to allocate for the future. Mike, actually, if you don't mind, can you mute? I think you're going to have to snag back around. There we go. Much better. But again, I think we're set up to be successful in the future from a site platform perspective, but we want to make sure we're reaching out and being able to talk to the kids and the teachers and get that input that's so important to the development of the campus over the next few years. Thank you. Thank you. All right. Next up is Madison. Hi, good evening. First of all,

thank you for approving the 4% raise. I know it is so appreciated by all of the teachers and much needed in this world. But in kindergarten, they just hatched chicks and they're learning about various animals. In first grade, students are going on a field trip tomorrow to the Philadelphia Zoo and they're having their fairy tale ball on May 29th. In second grade, students are learning about clouds and they're becoming meteorologists as they explore evaporation and condensation to discover how clouds form. In third grade, students are doing a math project using all of the skills they've learned during the year to plan and build a zoo. And they are going on a field trip to the Lenape Village at the Churchville Nature Center on June 8th. In fourth grade, they're going on a field trip tomorrow

to Washington Crossing after learning about the American Revolution and wisdom. In fifth grade, students just hosted their restaurant day where students learned about communication, customer service, making change and counting money, and everything was great. In sixth grade, students went on a field trip today to Citizens Bank Park, and they got to do a tour of the stadium and stay for the Phillies game. And in sixth grade, or sorry, in sale, students are organizing a picnic for all three of the mass schools during ESY. Thank you. Erin, could we have your report, please? Absolutely. Good evening, everyone. I also wanted to say thank you and extend my gratitude for the approval of the 4% raise. I know everybody appreciates that every year. As far as seventh grade goes in science, students just finished learning about the

layers of the atmosphere. They are now moving towards weather and climate. In history, students are currently... completing the unit on the age of exploration. In eighth grade tech, students are actively engaged in hands-on robotics activities with a strong focus on coding and overall thinking that goes into that STEM, you know. They are learning how to write and debug code to program robots to complete specific tasks, which builds their understanding of sequencing, logic, and problem solving. In ninth grade literature, students are reading the book Night and learning about the Holocaust. They are tracing a theme of lost faith, and in history, students are finishing their unit on the Industrial Revolution. In 10th grade, students just finished taking their literature and biology keystones. Students have been preparing for this all semester, and they are looking forward to

demonstrating their knowledge and understanding of the two subjects. In 11th grade forensic, students are learning about the psychology of criminals and how insanity is determined in a court of law. In world literature, students just finished reading Hamlet. They are now completing a movie study of the Lion King. to find similarities and differences in characters, major plot points, and themes. And then finally, in our RISE class, students are going to Raising Cane's as a CBI trip. Students will learn how to read and choose food from a menu, as well as how to use money to pay for their meal. They will practice polite communication skills and develop an understanding of appropriate behavior in public settings. Thank you, Aaron. I do want to again thank Madison and Aaron for all their hard work in getting these reports

to us every month. We appreciate it and we appreciate hearing what all our students are doing and keeping busy even up to the very end of the school year. All right. Our soon-to-be senior, Naraya, can we have your report? Of course. Last Thursday, we just kicked off our first ever junior prom. We had lots of fun. We had DJ food and there was also a beautiful venue. We also had professional photos and we had a photo booth there. Our block party for our older kids will be tomorrow or it will be coming up if it's planned tomorrow. Our girls softball team just had an amazing season with their last game having a win against Iconi. We also had a job fair for the underclassmen. So they got to interact with colleges like UPenn, the Naval

Academy, and many more. As someone touched on earlier, one of our track stars are going to States and we're very excited. We also have our, I'm sorry. We also have our sports banquet next Tuesday and we're all very excited for that. Thank you. Sounds like a busy time of the year, Ryan. All right. The administrative report. Mr. Cervanelli is not able to be here tonight. Ryan or Lori, which one of you are going to present? We're both going to present. I'm going to go first. So good evening, everyone. And again, too, I also want to reiterate, thank you again, too, for the 4% raise. It is appreciated greatly. So thank you. We know there's a lot. consideration that goes into it. And also I want to start off by giving a big shout out to

Miss Medley and her PAs today was the K to five block party. And it was a hot one. And the kids had a blast. They were out there all day, various inflatable games. There was water ice pretzels. It was a great time. Miss Cologne's on here. She sent a picture. Lily in kindergarten is out cold already for the night. So you know when they're in sleep by five o'clock. We finished up the PSSAs, so thank you to Ms. Ward and Ms. Kayser for the fabulous job they did organizing everything for the PSSAs and making sure they ran smoothly. They had a busy couple weeks with that. We are, as an administrative team, we finished up our formal observations. So we've finished up our formal observations, our post-observation meetings. So now we're at the tail end,

tying everything up. Teachers have their IPDP and SPMs are due tomorrow. Then after that, we'll be able to get started on their end-of-year rating tools. And that's also leading us into having discussions about the upcoming year. So we're ready. We're in that weird phase where we're still trying to finish up this year, but yet looking ahead to next year. And then we also, speaking about coming, the future things are coming up. Last Thursday night and Friday, kindergarten had their incoming kindergarten screenings. So it was nice to get to see some of the new ones that are coming in, a lot of siblings. So that's nice to see now we're at that phase where we're getting to know the families. And again, too, we're going to be planning for next year. And then Mr. Steinbach. Yes,

thank you, Lori, and good evening, everyone. I'll do it one more time. Thanks for the raise. It is much appreciated by everyone. But I just want to reiterate that it's an exciting time, especially for our juniors who have earned several unique scholarship opportunities. We've really had taken the focus on highlighting these students as much as possible on our social media platform, so hopefully you guys are following some of that and watching. some awesome recognition going for our students. In April, students participated in classes on the Mass School turf field, which was exciting and very competitive. I know Naraya was facing her sister in the tire pull, which was awesome. Just a moment for us creating just continue school memories and strengthening our school culture. 10th grade students visited Benjamin Rush State Park to participate in

a park cleanup in recognition of Earth Day. I actually walked over and participated in that with them which was this is an awesome opportunity for for students. Students also participated in a college visit to West Chester University. Thank you to Ms. McCall and Ms. Jarczowski. They've done a fabulous job of just getting these college visits out to students. This one in particular filled up within an hour of release, which was awesome. There's really that drive to get these opportunities for students. Masteries juniors participated in our senior photos, which is kind of a bittersweet moment for... Making another milestone for the upperclassmen. I was frozen? Yeah. Did you hear the senior photos? Parts of it. Okay, I'll read it again. It was a good moment. It was a good moment. We paused for that. It was

a perfect time for that. Then AP exams just completed and we're just continuing to expand our opportunities. We're moving to seven AP classes next year, which is exciting. Keystone testing is wrapping up and we're finalizing just make-ups for that. Junior ring ceremony took place, which was an awesome experience for our students. Another tradition that we gave to our students, which was exciting. prom nariah spoke on we had a great turnout for that it just and now we're in the process of getting feedback from our juniors moving into next year and then as an administrative team we're in the process of gathering data and information from our staff for summer planning and focus areas sounds good thank you so much ryan and laurie for your reports this evening um okay any committee reports All right. And

there's no new business or old business. I do want to mention that Crystal sent out an email asking board members whether or not they plan on attending the graduations this year. So if you could get back to her and email her and let her know one way or the other, if you will be attending any of the graduations, we'd appreciate it. Okay. Could I have a motion to adjourn, please? So moved. Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Okay. The next board meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Last one of the school year. Okay. See you next month. And thank you. And everybody have a great holiday weekend in the rain and the cold. Bye. Thank you. uh let's do the pledge of allegiance i pledge allegiance to the flag of the

united states of america and to the republic for which it stands one nation under god indivisible liberty and justice for all okay thank you uh roll call please first of all karen del garcio here betty ann creighton here Mimi Garbinski. Here. Amelia Torres. Here. Isabella Mosquera. Here. Elena Luca. All right. Thank you. May I have a motion to approve the agenda for tonight? Motion to approve. Thank you. Second? Second? Some of you are answering, but you're not. Thanks, Mimi. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Okay, thank you. Can I have a motion to approve the minutes from last month's meeting? So moved. Second? Second.

Okay. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Okay, excellent. And let's move on to the resolutions. Suzanne said there are no public comments, so that's good. Let's move on to the resolutions. A is personnel. If you notice on personnel A1, it's a semi-sweet resolution because we're losing Phyllis Santiago. She's retiring, a well-deserved retirement, and this makes it official for us. So I do want to thank Phyllis for all that she has done in building up the school as the school leader. Thank you, Phyllis. Clarence, that was nicely said. Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. Oh, we're going to miss you. Enjoy the time down the shore, wherever you want to go. Don't even think about us. Have a wonderful retirement. Somebody asked me what's the first thing I'm doing. I'm un-setting my alarm clock.

Okay. Thank you. Are there any questions about, other than saying I don't want Phyllis to go, are there any questions on resolutions A1, 2, 3, and 4? Can I have a motion to approve A1, 2, 3, and 4? Motion to approve. Second. Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? We would have liked to have given you, your staff members, more than 4%, but at least it's an increase. And you deserve a whole lot more. Unfortunately, the politicians don't see it that way. But we do. You've done a wonderful job. You deserve more than 4%. And then also, I know that John sent you out, sent everybody letters as a preview about approving the health insurance. And I hope you're happy with it. It should be easy to transfer from one to the other. And I'm

sure HR will help you with that. So can I have a motion to accept all? Oh, I did that. Any questions about them? No. All right, moving on then. special did I take a vote you did yes I thought so all right being special ed that's good I can have a motion to approve special ed motion to approve second second all those in favor aye aye opposed none okay uh c one two three and four any questions And we hope that everybody who took the AP test gets to get the money and gets a five. It's a great program. How many approved? Could I have a vote on approval? Yes. For C, one, two, three, and four. Motion to approve. Number seven. Second. Okay. All those in favor? Aye. Aye. Opposed? All right. This is

going on well. Okay. Board considerations. One, two, three, and four. Are there any questions? And again, we want to publicly thank the AMP members for participating in all of the activities and arranging so that our kids have a good time and have lots of activities and dances and roller skating. Even though I can't do any of that, they have a great time. So thank you. No questions. All those in favor, we did that already. Okay. Operations. Five. Any questions? Then can I have a motion to approve E1234 and five? Motion to approve. Second. Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Aye. Okay. E passes. Moving on to technology. 12345. Any questions about any of those programs and whatever we're buying? Karen, I have just a question, not a question, but like a request. Yes. Throughout

the year when these technology applications are being used, can we see any of them? Can I see any of them? I just don't know all of them. I'm not familiar with them. Of course you can. Okay. Do you have any idea which ones you want to see? I started out with F2. What kind? You know what? I think maybe when we have our August or September board meeting, we can ask Phil and Erin. to set up computer stations where you can actually run through some of them. Oh, that would be great. So if there are some that people eventually that actually want to see them, just email Phil what ones you want to see. Okay, sounds good. Does that sound good, Phil and Aaron and Lauren? Yeah, definitely. Yeah, anything you want to see or

we can go over and give an overview. Yeah, other people, you know, it's like, like, like, like a fair job fair, but not with that with with the programs instead, we'll work on it. And let you know, it would be before the board meeting. Okay. Anyone have any questions about any of those programs? Remember motion to accept them all? Motion to accept. Second. Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Aye. Okay, thank you. Moving on, we didn't get any grants this time. And now we're moving on to committee reports. I know we have some committee reports. Mimi. Yes. First of all, I want to also add my kudos and thanks to Phyllis for all her years. I really appreciate everything you've done. We will miss you. I'll miss our meetings. And in personnel, we've started

interviewing for the replacement, not an easy replacement for the school leader at Byberry. And we should have a decision shortly on that. I'd also like to add how impressed I was with all the candidates that interviewed and not just the candidates, but our school staff that did the interviewing. They never cease to amaze me. And that's pretty much it. Thank you. That's a nice compliment, Chef. Betty Ann, do you have anything? Did they do wellness? Well, the wellness committee met today, but unfortunately I missed that meeting. Grant Geller was there. Grant, is there anything that you wanted to add to it? Yeah, sure. So the big discussion today was that one of our students, senior Abigail John, as part of a project that she was doing, a passion project of hers this year, was awarded

some grant money to help stock feminine products for the school. I know it's also a state grant that went to all three schools as well. So we combined some of that funding for Byberry specifically. So she's been setting up a cabinet. and just advertising what those materials are for and making sure people are aware that those exist. So that was a part of the discussion today. We also had a Morgan's Light Assembly recently for our 11th and 12th graders, which focused on relationships and importantly, toxic relationships or healthy relationships or even domestic violence and how to handle those kinds of situations. So that's always a good... refresh and effort for our level competitors who are getting older and doing more of those adult things and need that guidance sometimes. Well, that sounds like a good

meeting. Yes. Thank you. All right. Let's hear from the CEO. John? Hi. I think I'm being attacked by the storm behind me here. So if you hear some background noise. So a couple of highlights from obviously the board resolutions this month. long overdue we're going to be replacing our roof of both our blue building our red building and uh thanks everybody in that process i know matt had worked with bsi and dan rats to be able to offer some solution karen weighed in on her opinion but we are moving forward with that so hopefully we'll be at peace of mind over the next 30 years for our room issues at byberry which i know I will miss doing it or being connected to rolling trash cans over to certain spaces whenever it would have a

heavy rain or heavy snow. Additionally, part of the resolution tonight talks a lot about technology, which... I know, Betty Ann, you pointed out some of the things on the software. I think even a more important item on there is that we're switching for our upper class up until our junior year, moving to MacBook Neos. This will not be an immediate move in September, but we voted in tonight to be able to shift to that product. We're going to have a specific rollout that Phil Havens and Aaron are working on, along with myself, and how we look at the approach to the future. And one of the things that's impactful about that device, and I know Karen, you had sent me an article about this as well, was that the Chromebook's limited to the online version

of everything that's built within Google, whereas the MacBook can run applications on a very short synopsis. That makes it more powerful for our kids to be able to do video editing. and content and all these different things that we're getting into. It's been impressive to see some of our programs at our Mass One campus, such as our video news, become an every week thing and every month thing that's highlighting our kids in the school. So one of the things that we're looking at for the future is to figure out ways that we can get that content out to the public, to our families, and even new ways. And I think that device will be impactful for our kids producing that content. Additionally, we've had some conversations with our teachers in the high school about what

the future of our education program looks like in the high school. Mr. Geller has been part of that as well as many of our network team members. And we met with some of the teachers that are leading the departments there. to talk about how we're trying to look at the future of potentially access to a new facility, new classrooms in our building design, and how we can work that along with the Byberry campus to be able to hold on to more of our eighth graders, as well as modify our elective options for the future. I've been talking about this for a little while, but we are going to be sending some information out to our board members to give you an idea of kind of where we are with those projects, but also to get

some insight into that. And I think as Mrs. Santiago is retiring, we're moving into next year with a different person leading the ship in terms of school leadership. We want to make sure everyone's in line with where we're heading for the next two to three years with that. So super important. It's the end of the year, a lot of amazing activities. I'll let our local team teachers and students talk about that. But it is, really awesome to see the continued growth of our students going to two and four year colleges our dual enrollment and graduates and those things it really stands out that we've been able to write the ship all the way through the years year over year and see more outcomes for students going out of state for college and just some amazing

colleges for the future so hopefully we can keep that up and if there's any questions you have for me where you want to be involved in the strategic planning process like i said we would get through this year with our building design And we're really looking at how we can enhance the library access. The track has been a huge addition for our kids in the high school this year, being able to not only have track and field, but also like things like our Friday night lights and other activities where we didn't have that option before, soccer games and everything else. So just a really great year and really happy to be seeing our budget move forward with the increase. for our staff as well as our mapping out for next year. We just had some

meeting discussions yesterday with Mike Thompson and Karen. And so hopefully we'll be in a good position for June with our budget. Any questions for me? No, thank you, John. And John is going away on vacation, everyone. I think we need to give him, there we go. It's forced. Actually leaving town and going to Europe. Yes. Can you believe that? I can. Okay. Anyway. Thank my wife for that. Thank you. I'll thank my wife for that. Thank you. All right. Let's move on to the teacher and student reports. But before we start, I do want to thank the teachers and the students for spending all the time you spent with us this year. We really appreciate your voice in the board meeting. And I hope next year, if you're one of those of you who are

coming back, even speak more and come up with some ideas. of how we can do things. You don't have to just give us a day-to-day running. Tell us what you think. That would be great. Okay, we're moving to teachers. Hi, everybody. I'll start with the elementary. Thank you again about the change in insurance benefits. We do really appreciate everybody putting all their hard work into getting all the details down and just picking the perfect plan for us. We are also grateful to our administration and AMP for a wonderful staff appreciation week. There was lots of surprises and lots of fun being had. So that was also appreciated. And it really builds morale around the building, gets us socializing with our friends. So that was a really great week as well. PSSAs are over. Yay. So

that's great news. We are doing, we are in the throes of STAR right now. So getting all that good end of the year data. Teachers are reorging their classrooms and getting the classes ready for next year, making sure that everybody and everything just gels perfectly. There really is a lot of thought that goes into reorg. It's not just a simple one, two, three, four. There's so many things to consider. So teachers really do put a lot of time and effort into reorganization and their classroom ideas. So that's always appreciated. Of course, there's always great events at the end of the year. We're all looking forward to field day. We have lots of trips. Sixth grade went to Citizens Bank Park and the first grade went to the zoo and second grade went to Elmwood Park

Zoo. We had our Mother's Day tea, fairy tale ball. Kindergarten did the chicks. The egg hatching, which was an amazing experience for all of our kids, not just all of our kids, but kids from every grade, high school, first grade to 12th grade, come down and visit the chicks, hold the chicks, pet the chicks, talk about the chicks. You know, it really is such a great project across all of our schools with the egg hatching. So we appreciate that. That is funded every year and lots of other good things going on. That's about it. We're looking forward to summer too. Yay. Thank you. Wouldn't be going on unless we had wonderful teachers like you, Janine, and then your team. It's just great. So please take that word back to everyone. We appreciate all of the

things that you do for kids. We appreciate it. And you're the experts. You're the veterans. I noticed I didn't say old-timers. Thank you. Thank you, Nicole. Thank you. I want to reiterate what Mrs. Baer said about the 4% and the benefits. We do really appreciate all the time and effort and budgeting that goes into that. It really makes a difference. So thank you on behalf of the teachers. On the high school side, Mr. D, and basically I think every high school teacher, including Mr. Gellert. are very glad that the keystones are over. Our students did really well. They worked hard, they were focused, and the digital exam went smoothly. Mr. Brown also that he is taking students to Reading Terminal on June 2nd. Go and study all the different entrepreneurial concepts and also taste some

delicious food. Piggybacking on what Mr. Sweers said about our utilization of the track, Ms. Marsteller wanted to comment on the first official Byberry track and field team season that has finished at this point, but they did really, really well. They had an impressive stack of ribbons and medals this year. We had three athletes qualify for District One championships. So that's pretty amazing. They came home with a lot of bragging rights. Ms. Beck wanted to report that the 30-minute midsummer performance for the eighth grade ELA classes are taking place next Friday. They have their largest group ever going into the eighth grade classes and performing for them. There's 30 students going. They are also taking, they're finishing up their literacy unit on the hero's journey by watching the Spider-Verse movie. And the Shakespeare and Theater students

are also starting their final exam projects this week. They are completing a production pitch presentation of their show or their design for Twelfth Night. So things are going well in the high school. We're a little sad that our field day got canceled due to the weather, but we're looking forward to it next week at Mass 3. Oh, well, thank you, Nicole. And it's the same, you know, the teachers make the programs and I'm sure the kids appreciate it. Even if they probably won't come to school. Nevermind, we're not saying they're going. I don't know what they're going to do for the next week or so, but thank you. Moving on to who's going first, students? I think they're first. Okay. So I just start off with our NHS induction. On April 15th, the National Honor

Society held its annual prestigious induction with the selected members of the class of 2027. It was an intense application process that varied from writing an offensive essay about leadership and what they really mean to us, and then listing our leadership roles and volunteering with them and out there to ensure the passionate applicants holistically embody what it means to truly exemplify the four pillars that are the core foundation of the membership. which is scholarship, leadership, service, and character. After long deliberation, the current NHS leaders and faculty inducted 25 students, and it was truly a surreal experience to be a part of. We're all ecstatic to continue to serve our community, surround ourselves with like-minded people, and start planning for next year. On April 16th, the Multicultural Club held its annual fair featuring a wide range of

food and cultures. along with poster boards displaying their information about the countries being represented. It was truly amazing to see everyone come together to embrace each other's differences, be supportive, and be open to learning what makes each individual unique. It was evident that Ms. Korsavage and compassionate members put endless effort into making this event a success. On April 29th and 30th, the juniors had their senior portraits. It was definitely a bittersweet moment to experience as we're able to reflect on how far we have come as a class of 27 family, which was some of us being together for 13 years and being able to be proud of making it this far, but it's also upsetting to see how it's coming to an end rather quickly. Full of our mind to always appreciate the time we

have together. On Wednesday, April 29th, the Junior Ring Ceremony was held. It was a heartfelt moment with our classmates as we talked about the significance of the ring, what it symbolized, and what to look forward as we embark on our journey to truly cross the threshold from adolescence to young adulthood. We had two students give memorable speeches, myself being one, to speak about the unbreakable bond that we have as a diverse and unique class of 2027 family and our abilities to overcome any obstacle we will inevitably encounter going into senior year. and the responsibilities that come with it. And more importantly, it's an effort for Gary we came from with our ring reminding us of that. After the ceremony, we celebrated this milestone by taking pictures and having refreshments. To honor and show appreciation for

our teachers, our student council members diligently planned to make postcards with handmade pipe cleaners shaped like flowers to fit the spring theme, expressing our simple yet genuine thanks for the endless hours and devotion our teachers have given us, shaping us into who we are. Our AP exams finally arrived with our first one starting on Monday, May 4th and the last one on Thursday, May 21st. It was an unexplainable experience to be able to apply all the knowledge obtained in the first and second semesters and demonstrate it on the test to show our understanding of the designated subject. Not only were we able to illustrate our intellectual capabilities, but our teachers' hard work and dedication to us in the curriculum as well. And then lastly, on May 14th, the junior and senior prom took place at

the Philmont Country Club. It was such a surreal experience with everyone putting their differences aside and making unforgettable, everlasting memories with friends and classmates through limitless dancing and photo taking. I had a great turnout with excellent feedback from students who stated they genuinely had a great time, enjoyed the night, met new people, and had authentic fun through the personal connections made throughout the night. I'm so sorry, I cannot hear you. Aaron, I think you're muted. You really don't have to come to the next meeting in June. It's after graduation. But we want to wish you a very thank you and wish you a very, very good summer vacation or work. Thank you. All right. Who's next? Okay, so I only have a few things to talk about. So earlier today, our seniors and faculty celebrated

MAST's own decision day. While students committed on May 1st, administration dedicated a separate day to meet with our classmates, take photos and celebrate this accomplishment. Students wore t-shirts and sweatshirts of the colleges and trades that they'll be attending and were provided with valuable insight from teachers. regarding their post-graduation plans. I put everything on a spreadsheet so you guys can look over it. So when I'm done, I'll put it in the chat. And we also received our yearbooks today. And I want to give a shout out to Miss Nowinski and the Yearbook Club for putting together a great yearbook. I have it somewhere, but I don't know where I put it. And then on May 8th, our high school participated in our second FNL event. The fall event was a huge success with a great turnout

rate and this one was just as good. Senior girls team one and junior boys took two, team two took home their championship rings after a close game from both teams. And then lastly, seniors are counting down their last days of school. They only have 10 days left. It's a bittersweet feeling, but we're all excited to graduate and move on and go to college and stuff. Are you graduating? Yeah, I'm graduating this year. I'm going to St. Joe's. Where are you going to school? St. Joe's. I'm going to St. Joe's for pre-pharmacy. Oh, how wonderful. That is great. Well, congratulations on graduation. And thank you. Thank you very much for all that you've done. Yeah, no problem. And have a wonderful summer. Thank you. I appreciate it. Oh, that's wonderful. Pharmacists, we like that. And teachers,

I didn't mention it to you, but you have an excuse for next board meeting too. But you're all welcome to come if you want to. you know after graduation and it's june and you don't want to talk about this anymore but thank you all right moving on to administration in france um every month i i watch my list uh go be covered little by little but i did find something i was like i've been at multiple events over the place give me the choir concert i have to give a shout out to mr mayor He did a fantastic job and the students really put on a great show a couple weeks ago. But yes, I just want to second everything that was said tonight. It's been a really very active month plus and lots of

events and a lot of positivity and it's nice to be through the Keystones, like Ms. Spellman said, and on to we have the seniors leaving for Disney in a couple days. just continuing to move through all the fun end of your stuff. You're muted again, Karen. Stop turning off my speaker, Crystal. I'm sorry. There's a lot of background noise. I'm bad. I got to back up. I'm so sorry. Are you graduating this year, are you? No, I'm not graduating. That's what I thought. I didn't get that wrong. All right. Thank you, Grant. All right. Any committee? We already did the committee report. Okay. Administrative report. Committee reports. We did that. And now we're moving on to any new business or old business? All right. Thank you. The thing is, none of our board members, voting

board members, are excused from the next board meeting, just the non-voting board members. And please let Crystal know if you're going to graduation. any of the graduations. So any other questions, any other, our next meeting is next month after graduation and probably will be short. And then you get a month off and we start again in August. Again, thank you very much, everybody. What a great board you are. You're the best board I've ever seen in Charterland and that includes Minnesota. They're the ones who started it. And you don't wonder. Everybody's just great. Thank you. Can I have a motion to adjourn? Motion to adjourn. Second. Second. All those in favor? Aye. Opposed? Oh, everybody wants to leave. Okay. Receivables of approximately $192,000. Obligations of almost $680,000.

Disbursements for the month of April, a little north of $1.3 million. Checks over $20,000 is the bottom of your report. been working on the budget. I actually had a meeting yesterday, so we're making good money. If anybody has any questions, I'd be glad to answer them. No questions here. Anyone have questions for Mike? Okay, I can have a motion to adopt the control report. Can I have a second? Second. All in favor? Aye. Aye. Any opposed? I'll turn it over to John for the CEO report. So a couple of important resolutions that were mentioned tonight, just to give some context. Obviously, the 4% per staff has been part of the budgetary process, which we appreciate everybody working towards on both the board end, Mike Thompson, his team, and also internally working through the staffing plan

with both the local team as well as our network and HR. We were able to come to a good resolution relative to next year's budget and feel strong going into not only our... general classroom upgrades and things in the in the in the space but also uh for the new high school that we are in the process of designing which i'm excited about as we look at the future of the campus uh most recently uh isaac newton on behalf of mass 2 is in the process of acquiring To the north near the river, the parking area, which is in front of Pico. So that's going to be the future parking lot for our new site, as well as a road that goes around the existing athletic fields, which will most likely be converted to turf

as part of this project if everything goes well. So we've been spending a lot of time in conversation, talking to both our local leadership teams, our architects, engineers, in terms of what needs to go into that space. Noteworthy in terms of resolutions like tonight's MacBook resolution We're currently switching our technology program from our Chromebook to the new MacBook Neo. We're basically the same cost The MacBook Neo is Apple's new device Which we think is not only competitive but a much stronger device than the Chromebook but notice there's only 256 Apple Mac with Neo devices here. Our high school over the next three years is going to see our enrollment move up from our lower school, middle schools. And so we're going to see an increase to our high school. Our high school is going to

double in size. So there's a lot of thought around the future of the campus. I'm going to be sharing with our board some of the renderings. I know Lou, you've seen some of it, but as we've been getting through the progression of our projects. We've been getting closer to what the end result was. So currently we are building an 84,500 square foot building. That's going to include not only the high school spaces, but the additional cafeteria and gymnasium that will be needed to eventually move out of Longcrest finally to one site. So we're pretty excited about all that if it goes well. And don't want to get into too many details to get ahead of ourselves, but it is a super exciting part of the process. Additionally, Mass II, I feel like this year between

our programs, our sports, the shared uses of things like our track, it's come a long way in just the progression of sports and activities. So we've been spending some time as well looking at the strategic plan and what it's going to need for the future. And we're in those discussions now, but we'll be sharing with the board more of that over the next few weeks. as we're looking at the alignment of schools and what it really needs to operate as we see that progression with the high school getting bigger. I think last but not least in here, the benefits, just the way that that all works out with the schools, and I didn't really mention too much of this on the last call, but every year when we go out to bid, you know, they

come back and we look at the prices, we look at the increases, and we really tried to take a look at what was needed in the schools to supply, you know, the consistent great benefits that we have. And there was an opportunity with IBX to be able to move to what we think is an equal, if not better provider. And it actually, Cigna's cost increase was pretty significant relative to what IBX, IBC would be to be able to obtain those benefits. So that was part of the switch. I know there was a kind of a side question in regards to that. We do have a consultant that goes out and looks at all that and they bring back those options. And so that resolution is written very specifically to address the things that are add-ons

as well as with the overall packages for benefits. So we'll be working with Michelle Morgan and that same team from EBA to go about how to transition to those benefits. Yeah, I failed to mention too, and I know it's in the actual resolution, but MAST is continuing to pay 100% of the premium for the insurance going forward, which is great. Yep. And I did get a question recently from a staff member in regards to the weight loss drugs. That is an add-on. That is not provided to most of the charter schools. I know that from our business office, that's not something that's typically built in. We are continuing that in our benefits package through next year. And then we'll, again, consider it every year at this time with the budget. Any questions for John? All

right. Over to the teacher reports. Bridget, do you want to start it off? Hi, everyone. In the chat, hopefully it goes through. The storm is literally hitting our house right now. So hopefully it goes through. Got it. Got a lot going on as we wrap up the school year. PSSA's wrapped up smoothly. Keystones, we are finishing up some makeups right now. To start us off, thank you for the 4% raise and for approving the new insurance. Again, we appreciate the 100%. coverage that's top notch we love that kindergarten the main thing for kindergarten this past month they had the wonderful opportunity of observing the life cycle of a chick and the students were thrilled to watch the chicks hatch and grow into the fluffy little chicks right in front of their eyes there's really cute

pictures of uh what the kids seeing all that first grade they are um finishing up their animal habitats and getting ready to go on their trip to the zoo Second grade learned how to write their narratives and wit and wisdom. They were finishing up their last chapter in math. Third grade enjoyed their field trip to the farm two weeks ago. They are enjoying their... social studies unit on Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, and they are looking forward to their instrument fest with Mr. Meb and Mr. Williams. Fourth grade is working on new STEM projects every week since PSSA's ended, and they are working on evaluating their designs and improving them weekly. Fifth grade is working on a lot of fun things right now. Their main thing right now to finish up with their wit and wisdom is

a barrier breakers Hall of Fame exhibit. Their module four really honed in on how to break the barrier based on different varieties, whether it be race, gender, mental stigmas. So they're going to kind of put on a little bit of a different multimedia elements for us to walk through in the hallways. So that will be really awesome to see. So hopefully I'll be able to share some photos once that's finished. Our sixth grade just completed last week their first Greek Olympics. Eighth grade is working on finishing up their tech and music videos. I know I might not be on the June board meeting, but I will send those over once Mr. Mev and Miss Applegate finish those up, because I know we always look forward to those. Eighth grade is also having their Cali dissection

next week. They also returned to Longcrest this past Monday for those who were our friends from kindergarten through second grade who attended Longcrest. I was lucky enough to be one of the chaperones to go back. So that was really cool to actually see my old first grade classroom and some of my friends that were my first grade students took some pictures with me there. And our specialists from Longcrest also included a lot of great pictures in their board reports as well. Thanks, Bridget. Turn it over to Bradley now. It doesn't look like my camera's working, so good evening. I will also say thank you to the board on behalf of all the high school teachers for all that you do for us. It's not letting me bring up the message. There we go. Short and

sweet tonight. I only have a few quick things. The document is linked in the chat. So in the personal finance classes, they were trading stocks, you know, simulated, of course, to compare short-term and long-term trends, just to view the benefits of long-term investments. The RISE students went to the SEPTA Accessibility Center at Suburban Station to learn how to navigate SEPTA in like a safe environment. I linked pictures there. I hope it links to everyone. I think it should. They also got to go to the sensory room located in the Comcast Center, and it looks like they had a lot of fun there. The Modern World class was doing a debate over whether the U.S. was justified the bombing of Hiroshima after reviewing accounts from both sides before and after the bombings. And Mr. Clement would

like to thank everyone who purchased a copy of The Wash, the literary magazine, and that they sold most of their copies, and the remaining seven will be available in the school store for purchase. Awesome. Thank you, Bradley. On to the student reports. Miles or Angel, whoever wants to start it off, feel free. Hi everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. This past month has been very eventful for the high school students. A pretty short summary, but one of the biggest highlights was prom, which was a huge success. It was on May 15th, and the student council worked very hard with coming up with decorations and planning around their theme, which was the house of cards, and it came all together really well. We also have some exciting events coming up soon, including our kickball event

next week and our high school field day, which will also take place next week. Over the past few weeks, seniors attended their senior trip in Busch Gardens, and AP testing recently came to a close about a week ago. Juniors were able to take their senior portraits for the year approaching, and right now many students are done with Keystone testing and preparing for finals and getting ready for their summer break. Juniors started writing for their college essays and prepping for their senior year. We also have students participating in that Italy trip with the EF tours that's coming up very soon, which everyone is getting ready for, including myself. One of our high school students recently was able to email Joe Boccozzi, which is one of our state senators who has agreed to come to Mass too,

around next week to speak to one of the government classes for Mr. Linsky's class. And in addition, NHS juniors have been settling into their new roles after induction and responsibilities. And overall, it's been very busy, but exciting time for students as the year begins to wrap up. Thank you. Thanks, Angel. Is the kickball game students versus students? Teachers playing? It's students versus teachers. I mean, students versus students. Nice. That'll be fun. Where was the prom held? It was at the police lodge. Nice. Awesome. Thank you. I know Miles was having some connection issues. It doesn't look like he's on. But Lauren, do you want to give the update? Absolutely. You know, as Bridget and Brad said, thank you definitely to the board for approving our 4% raises. It is greatly appreciated. Just wrapping up the

year for us at both our locations. It was an exciting week at both. Longcrest had a modified schedule due to heat. And today, Tacony had a garbage truck on fire on New State Road. But hey. we're making it through guys uh by tomorrow we'll be wrapping up all of our keystone makeups and we'll officially be done with all of our state testing for both lower school and upper school also all of our ap testing will officially be done tomorrow and on the opposite end long crest has been very busy with their kindergarten screenings uh this week and welcoming in all our new our new voyagers and meeting our new families and our new students and and getting them uh meeting the team Like Angel said, the junior and senior prom was a success. Right now,

we're just putting all the finishing touches on all of our final senior events. It's a very busy time for our seniors, so we want to celebrate them. But last week, we also had our K-12 art show. which was a great turnout from a lot of families, a lot of student art. We also had musical performances, dance routines. So it was a big event. And I just want to say thank you to all the teachers and staff who organized and supported this great event. As Bridget mentioned, return to Long Crest Day is always a hit. Our eighth graders, we have them go back during a field day. So our eighth graders supported our kindergarten students for field day. um and of course the eighth graders put in the request to play with the big parachute in

the NPR that always seems it seems to be a hit no matter what grade you are and like I said we're just um Looking forward to all the upcoming events. We have the, like Angel was saying, our kickball contest. Our student council is kind of hosting that for our juniors as a way to kind of kick off their senior year and get them excited for their next year at MAST. And we're wrapping up all our evaluations and the teacher responsibilities and talent ed, all the summer planning for summer academy, ESY, things like that. But yeah, we have charter school week coming up. Thank you to AM for all your support in that. Our field days, Lou, we do have a staff and student basketball game scheduled. We have middle school and high school on the

books. Rumor has it Mr. Sawyer might be playing in those, but we'll see. Longcrest is going to have their second grade send off where the second graders celebrate their transition over to the Tacony campus. Our block party sports banquet graduation, all those things are ready to go. But I also wanted to take this opportunity. I know you, I don't know if he's still here, but thank you to Miles. He will be graduating in June. So I just wanted to thank Miles for all his dedication and service as our student board rep. Thanks Lauren. Yeah. The art show was fantastic, by the way. That was, it was, artwork was really good. The format itself, I like how they did the music. Yeah, it's a lot of collaboration between both campuses and all the teachers, and it's

always a big success. So we're very happy that we started that, and we definitely see us moving forward with that. My two sons were with me, and when they saw the students with the Metallica shirts and the guitars, they were, They were ready to hear some rock music. So, I mean, we enjoyed everything, but they were, they were really excited to see that. So Miles, thank you. I know you're not here, but I feel good to say all the best to you. Really appreciate your service this year. And then for the basketball game, I just hope for no injuries. No spring chickens with these. John, he's younger than me, but yeah. All right. Any committee reports? Nothing? No new business? Old business? Anyone on the board have anything before we adjourn? I could have a

motion to adjourn. So moved. Do you have a second? Second. All in favor? Aye. Aye. All right. Thanks, everyone. Meeting adjourned. Good evening, everyone. Stay safe. Stay dry. Everybody.
