007attend during their junior or senior year we have several students who will be attending flint hills technical college this fall who will receive the robert s rafke scholarship as well as the jones technical education grant tyler dubuque dalton eisman and alex smith will be studying industrial engineering technology and they will each be receiving the robert s rafke scholarship in the amount of 425 dollars and a 500 jones grant [Applause] owen mcmanus and gareth palmer both both receive a 300 robert s rafke scholarship for the welding program and a 500 jones grant owen marchand and hunter medford will receive a 500 jones grant in the welding program thomas unruh derrick cole trent davison and gage shetler will study power plant technology in the fall each will receive a 500 jones grant wayne rohr has received the
008robert s rafke scholarship and the amount of 2 618 to study automotive technology he will also receive the jones grant and the amount of five hundred dollars [Music] yeah there might not be certificates for some of these because we just found out about them today so gavin console will receive a jones grant in the amount of 500 in the computerized machine tool program [Applause] tanner wait will study computer program design and development and will receive a 500 jones grant police this summers will receive a 500 jones grant and study network technology congratulations to these students [Applause] very quickly guys i want to just take one moment because when i first started uh five years ago as a principal and i've been here 15 years prior to we had one person in flint hills tech and
009as of i think starting next year we're up to 7 16 or 17 kids going and gaining certifications and most of those people with those certifications if they go and get the completed certification we'll make as much as money as anyone that comes out of college just so you know they're getting it paid for and they're getting a transportation paid for to go over there and it has became a huge deal in the united states these technical educational things you may not find what you want in flick flint hills tech because they only have about 20 but you've got to keep in mind that there are lots of technical schools out there if you don't go right away we found a lot of things going on even close by at anderson county over in iola
010and up at washburn so don't ever underestimate the amount of knowledge that you can gain and with that certification you could make a lot of money just by that and then go go for free so keep that in the back of your mind as you think about technical schools and we have several juniors who attended flint hills technical college this school year aoen codney has completed 14 hours in the graphic arts design program [Applause] owen merchant has completed 16 hours in the welding technology program [Applause] thomas unruh has completed 14 hours in the power plant technology program [Applause] and derrick cole has completed six hours in the power plant technology program congratulations [Applause] stewart basketball this year we had two two underclassmen that achieved some recognition for basketball not only did they make all league
011but they're also unconvention class 3a hurley young and cadence deadly this partial here all right the uh kansas volleyball association all academic team our varsity team qualified for that a total or average gpa of 3.3 or higher for the varsity any varsity player and then individually honorable mention is 3.75 to 3.99 and we had four players josie stedel harley young madison courson and michaela and all academic first team with 4.0 gpa cadence doubly and miranda means let's give this mr big hand for being [Applause] here okay i'm sorry i'm gonna hold you here for a little bit but apparently these are the journalism awards for the last two years i think cove happened and so we have a very large pile so could the following people come up and i'm just going to read what

023be between 25 and 30 minutes except for cat there is no second breakfast tomorrow but you'll start out uh from 7 55 to 8 20 uh first hour in a cap for approximately 15 minutes during that time during cap time once you go to your cap then you juniors need to get with your sixth and seventh hour teachers because we are going to start checking you out uh fifth out okay we would not be able to do it if we check everybody out we can't do that in 30 minutes so sophomores you guys need to go to your uh cap and then during cap time you will go to your uh seventh hour teacher to get that and then right back to your cap and then we will be going through class the rest of
024the day fifth hour again juniors once we get to that point you will get checked out but then you will go right back to class okay you don't get checked out of school you go right back to class we have to go all the way until 12 30 to make uh make up for all the minutes that we have to have so sophomores uh you will check out sixth hour and then go right back to class and then freshmen you will check out during the seventh hour and go right back to class uh lunch will start for juniors at 11 50. okay you will come down to the lunch room and find a seat i think we'll probably have a little more than what we would normally have there so we may have to open
025up either the gym or the multimedia room uh sophomores will check you guys uh for lunch at 11 55 and then freshmen will call you at noon so you'll stay in your seventh hour class until that time then once lunch is over i will dismiss you the buses will be outside and you will then be free to leave at that point guys i will stress to you yes if you are involved still in athletics they get everything signed out except for that sport and from me because you still have uniforms or equipment or things like that you will not be officially signed out we'll put it in a another pile and as soon as your season is complete and your coach says yes so-and-so has their stuff turned in i will sign out and we'll
026release the grids at that point but not until that time okay now last thing real quick guys uh tomorrow is a school day come to school do what you're supposed to do whatever the teachers have for you to do you do that don't cause it yourself any any problems where it's going to come to mr watkins and i because it wouldn't look good for you to be suspended or something of that nature and go into next year as well or any of you athletes that are still participating you wouldn't be able to go to those athletic events so last thing regionals are all started tomorrow golf baseball softball all of those things track guys is this week as well you still have state to look at and this is kind of the first time in
