I love to love to hear it. Love to see it. They hear some noise in the background. It's the babies. Don't blame us. Fin information financial. I'm going to move to Mr. Reed. I'm sorry, Mr. Reed. Next slide, please. First one's financial reports. Your monthly payables list. Your balance sheet report which reflects district's assets, liabilities, and fund balance for funds. The bank balance report captures banking activity at a high level for all

002district accounts. account. That's budget to actual for each general revenue account and then the expense report which provides a good report at a high level for where expenses stand by function and object here. the financial status. This is just the graphs for the expenditures and the revenues. And as you can see there for our revenues, locals were at 96% complete for the year. State and federal at 71%. And then the pie chart just shows the expenses broken out. Next slide, please. Some business office updates. The 2627 budget update. We're meeting internally to have the proposed final budget ready for the May board meeting. Working with the AIU on the transition to the new financial management system for the 2627 school year. Steven Foster voting update. We're working not waiting. We're working with the solicitor to

003get a closing date along with the buyer lawyer and working on accounts that need to be reconciled with recommended budget transfers. that will be on the board agenda and the business office is currently completing quarterly reporting. Any questions? Thank you. First want to have Miss Heather Johnston, Upper Elementary voting for a voting update. Good evening everyone. Thank you for having me here tonight to give a little look back at all of the progress that we made for this year and a glance of what's to come in the 2026 school year or 2627 school year. Um my staff and I have started planning for next year um in February and have worked very hard um to take a look back at everything that we have done this year and what we can change for next year

004and moving the building forward. So, I started my presentation with the district's mission, core beliefs, and academic priorities because those were things that we looked at when we were making our goals for next year. These are the goals that I had set and the team had set for last year. And then I'm just going to go through and give you highlights. Um, it's not going to I'm not going to stop every um slide for long. Um, but one of the things we're very proud of as we pulled this together this week, um, it doesn't seem like we did a lot, but in looking at all of the pictures and all of the things that we had done, we accomplished a lot with the students. First up, we started last year in July. Myself and nine

005staff members visited RCA in Atlanta, Georgia. Um, we had gone, we were part of the Ignite the Classroom with Huntington. And on the aboard agenda, I got five more scholarships. So, the rest of my team um can go um to Ron Clark Academy this summer. So these are just some of the highlights of the trip. Then I shared um I asked the staff that had gone to tell us what um this has brought to their classroom. So here are just a couple statements um that they had shared um and going into the classrooms I see more engagement and um the house system that they have brought. Our theme this year was four houses, one family at SRUE. And one of the things that um the staff had done a nice job is teaming off and

006doing different parts to bring the house um system to our school. So, in order to do each house celebration, one of the things that they had learned about um at the Ron Clark was how to get donations and um they were given sample letters and sample information to put out. So, four staff members this summer um sat around and wrote letters to all of the local businesses. These are some of the donations that we have currently and we have some more coming in as well. Oops. Could you go back? Okay, there we go. It's not click. Okay. Oops. Um, so these are just some of the pictures. I'm going to go through real quickly of some of the things that we had done. This is Christmas at the upper elementary. Our house meetings have been

007an amazing addition um building team collaboration throughout the building. Um we do have the four houses. You can see these are some of the meetings. During the meetings they work on team building and their house um motto. So for instance, I'm in Isabindi and it's the house of courage. So all of the activities that we do focus around courage. These are the house celebrations where the whole building comes together, celebrates, plays um competitions against each other and um they competed the first half of the year. Um, the winning house points won a pizza party donated by Doughboys. Um, we had the mystery readers this year. These are just four of the um, mystery readers that came. It was a great addition. Staff loved coming. Um, the kids loved seeing different people in the building and

008showing their love of reading. We also had a big donation. Mrs. Angelhart, our um band and chorus, um got a $10,000 donation and our students um were able to get new instruments and cases. You could see the smiling faces, our snowball dance. Oops. Could you go back one? Um this I want to highlight because this was something that we added on as um one of the parents had said it would be nice to come and have lunch with my student. So we added this on this year and I want to point out one thing. If you look at every single picture, look at the smiles on everybody's face. It was an amazing turnout. The kids loved it. The parents loved it. We will definitely be adding that back next year. Um, we had such an

009amazing turnout for that. Um, we just had last week JA and our partnership with Citizens Bank expanded. They sent employees there and did um careered lessons with each of them. Fifth grade did entrepreneurship. um fourth grade um they did your um community and sixth grade expanded on the entrepreneurship and actually built cities and you can see this is the sixth grade a couple pictures from that event. Our black history celebration this year was amazing. We couldn't have done it without PAX and all of our um guests that came. Um we celebrated the whole entire month between during classes. Kids did research projects. Um, it was incorporated into our steam, music, um, art, uh, all of the specials areas and all of the classes as well as we had, um, community members and past alumni come

010and talk to the kids and ask and answer questions of the kids. So, it was an amazing event. Um, the kids really enjoyed it. Um and then we ended the celebration with a parent event where the band, the chorus, um and the school did different projects and singing um and playing the beginning band actually played for the first time. This is just a couple of the staff spirits that we've done throughout the year. And then we finish it off with the steam competition. Our steam teacher took three teams of students down to the AIOU at the waterfront and they comm competed against other schools um in Alageni County. They had a blast and were so excited. Um we got a donation from Chick-fil-A and they all got lunch there and all of the other schools

011were jealous of them. And then one of the major things that we looked at last year was the kids taking part in looking at their data. So you can see on the right it's a sixth grade um data form from our map. Next year we're going to expand it to the Firefly that we um take our benchmark testing to prepare for the PSSA. Um but this is graphs that each of them fill out after looking and conferencing with the teacher. Next year um and you'll see in our plans under the academics we are going to have when we have the parent teacher conferences we're going to have the students lead those with their data and show the parents you know what they're doing and what they've accomplished. So, we're going to go on to attendance

012data. Um, we had three main goals that we looked at last year. Attendance, our PBIS, and our academics. So, I'm going to start off with attendance. We have our percentage of students. Um, and I did a five-year example of um the students and where we are at with attendance. Um that number for 2526 is up until last Friday. We still have about six weeks left to bring that up. Um we're working hard to try to get students there for the PSSA. Um as well as the end of the year, we have lots of engaging events planned as well as different incentives um working with PAX um to get students there. Um these are some of the ascent incentives that we used this year. Um last week they had a build your own burger bar. Um

013students were so excited to do that. Students that got 90% attendance in March um were able to do that. The other big um fun party that they loved was that um decorate your own cup. We got a donation from Ed Partnership. They looked like Stanley's and they got to decorate them with um stickers and um different art supplies. Um so overall we have three committees in the building and the one committee focuses on attendance. So our goal for next year is by the end of the school year our school will achieve and maintain a 90% or higher average daily attendance across the four through six. And another um thing that we added on from last year is targeting the reduction in the chronic absenteeism um students that are missing more than 10% um of the

014school days. Um, some of the ways that we are going to do that is launch a schoolwide message. Every day matters. We miss you when you are not here. Um, so we're going to do that theme for next year. Um, I have a couple of the other things. The morning announcements we do every day. We've done that the past four or five years. Um but we're going to take it up a step and we are going to start highlighting those um attendances once a week on those. Um we're going to continue those morning circles, but we're going to add in um why attendance matters to um that morning circle time. Um another thing um we already do the incentives. These were just a couple more ideas to add on um to what we already do.

015One of the things, yes, perfect attendance is great. Um but we will also want to focus on most improved um because we want those kids to that are missing to realize that okay, we can turn this around. Um so we're also going to focus on most improved. Um we're going to do weekly attendance shoutouts like I had said in the um morning announcements. Um another thing that I think is a amazing idea is sending those positive messages. So we have um a committee that meets they meet a couple times a month. one of their tasks for n next year is going to be to send that positive attendance message to maybe somebody that um improved their attendance or made it a whole week. Um it will be geared towards the individual child and not just

016everybody. Um we're also going to add attendance challenges as well. Um, and then the last part that the attendance committee is going to look at is um, the barriers. Why aren't the students getting there? We're going to do surveys, not just paper pencil, but also having conversations with the students. Um, as you could see, the theme this year is really student focused and hearing that student voice. Next is our PBIS. Um we have our values of safe, respectful, responsible. Um these lessons are taught, modeled. Um we use an acknowledgement system all around this. This year we added the house system. Um last week on Friday, we had um the AIU come and they do our fidelity check for tiers one, two, and three. um which we received an email this past week that um we

017did sustain our fidelity in tiers one, two, and three and um will be recognized this fall at the Pennsylvania Behavior Intervention and Support Systems Conference for sustaining our fidelity. Um these are our four houses. As I said before, our theme, four houses, one family at SRUE. This just talks about our house system and um what it means. Um just a couple key points is the house system helps build that strong sense of belonging, that leadership qualities in students and that positive school climate between the students and the staff. Um, as I had said before, we hold house meetings once a month. We look at that team building um activities to strengthen that community within um each other. The other thing that I want to um talk about is during our house meetings and our house

018celebrations, even though we have that competition back and forth, one of the things that we are teaching the students and this is the hardest thing to teach, even though we're competing against each other, we have to cheer for each other. Um so that's one of the things that we have been working on this year. um our house uh system celebrations. Um this is a time where students celebrate their achievements. They get awards for getting the most house points. They're recognized for positive contributions. Um and it's also a time to build that school spirit within our students um through music, games, and shared traditions. Each of the houses do have a cheer and flags where they um do their chair and celebrate each other. This was our first year goals for the house system. Next year

019we're going to look at three different we're going to look at increasing that student ownership and leadership in the house system. We're going to expand and refine the points. So currently they get points for being safe, respectful, and responsible. Next year we're going to add the attendance challenge to them as well as the academic piece. And we're going to add special days where students won't know, but it will be double point day. So if they earn a point that day, um it actually is worth two points. Um, and then the last thing that we're going to do is improve that communication and engagement through the digital platforms. We want to get our TVs back up and running in the building in the main hallway and in the cafeteria um to have the house points up

020there so students can see as well as spotlighting all of the students. Um this is our discipline data over four years. Um you can see this year we did struggle. Um and one of the things when I go to the next slide um we're missing that SEAL piece. Um and we're in need of additional support around SEAL. So how are we h how and what are we going to focus on under the PBIS? Um so our main goal is to reduce the referrals by 25% across the fourth through sixth grade um through consistent implementation of that SEAL PBIS and restorative practices. Um these are just some of the ways that we are going to do that. And then we move on to the last category of academics. Um the top is our scores from last

021year and the bottom is our scores from this year. But I do want to note the bottom scores are from January because we have not taken the May um test yet. I expect those scores to be a lot higher and it was hard to do a comparison, but I just did want to let you know one of the things that we did do with staff when we looked at that midyear data was look at the areas that we needed to focus on to get each of the students ready for the PSSA testing. So, this first one is reading and then the second one is math. Um so one of the things um that we are going to look at is increasing our student proficiency um and growth in the reading and math across all of

022the grade levels on the PSSA math and Firefly. Um, so the things that we're going to do focus on teachers, um, and what we do during our PLC times, um, and we're going to add more ownership to the students of understanding and explaining where they are at. Um and then the last thing is um I know I had only said three but we always want to build that parent and family engagement. So we want to increase the family engagement events um by 25% um and achieve at least 85% posit positive feedback. So, we're going to um talk to parents um instead of handing a survey, bring these events and get ideas of things that they would really like to see. Um some of the things that we will keep is the data and donuts event.

023The twist to that this year will be the students going over the data with the parents for their first MAP test. We will keep the celebration of learning midyear and end of the year to celebrate all of the accomplishments and we will definitely keep the special person lunch. Um that was a fan favorite. Um a couple of the things that we are going to add. So our open house is going to be our house block party where we have contest of getting your family to wear your house colors. Um, and we are going to hold that weather permitting out front and do it block party style. Um, to celebrate each of the houses in the new school year. Um, another thing that we are going to incorporate is parent workshops on how to help your

024child with the homework as well as those studentled data meetings. Um like I had talked about before um we will be incorporating parent teacher conferences and one of the new things that we had a request for was house family bingo. So that will be scheduled for this year. Um these are the events that we still have coming up. We have a busy six weeks left. um try to um make it I can send an email to let you know what we have left. Um but there is a lot to um celebrate this last half of the year. I put that picture of the Hogis because I have to give a shout out to the fourth grade team. They raised um over $2,000 um by selling 551 Hogis. So they did an amazing job. Um and

025that will go towards their field trip. Um for the remainder they are going to Living Treasures um animal park and um they're also going to have a celebration for the kids at the end of the year. We have a best day coming up. Um it's a secret. We're not telling the date. Um but it's a big event for the kids to celebrate. We have field day scheduled for that day activities and cafeteria is going to do a cookout for the students. So we went through each of these goals, but I end with um the goals that I had went over for the building for next year. Thank you for your time. Does anybody have any questions? Not a question for me, but uh great job, great report. That was very informative, veryformational. Thank you. Can

026we please get the list of dates? Well, we could probably put >> the ones. >> Put that up there. >> I know. And and go house homicide, by the way. >> That's my that's my that's my house, you know. We had the board members come that they got to be a honorary house member >> when they came to when they were >> go on the spot. I'm talking about up next we're going to have Dr. Lisa uh primary senate but with a primary center building update. >> Good evening Mrs. Kman, board of directors, community members, and our friends and community members online. As the primary center wraps up our 2526 school year, we start reflecting on our four pillars that really made us strong. We connected our four pillars to our district mission, vision, and

027challenge our way forward. Our presentation is a year in review. I chose the lyrics best day of my life. I focused um our first slide on our third grade team. All of our teams in the primary center are amazing. When Mrs. Cruz Kleman joined the district, she challenged all of us in her first day on August 18th, 2025 to step outside of our shell, our core, and get to know one another, build connections, not only within our team, within our building. Our amazing third grade team took her task, her challenge, right into the forefront of education. If you see the picture in the middle, we had all of our third grade students, 64 students meeting, getting to know one another, building relationships and connections. And you'll see how those relationships and connections um continue to

028support our culture and climate. The SRPC team is dedicated to all learners. This presentation is dedicated to the teachers for their efforts, their tenacity, um their support and their compassion. The picture on the left hand side is as I finish up almost my second year, April 2026. The picture on the right hand side is as we finish our first year together. I am so proud that the the stability of our staff has stayed the same. I have a brief um connection and gratitude that will be interwoven into this um presentation. These pictures showcase a little bit about who we are and some of our greatest successes. The top left would be a celebration of our perfect attendance winners. To the right, our school counselor and our PBIS team kicked off students of the month. We

029are so excited to acknowledge our wonderful students demonstrating their Viking values. The picture in the middle middle, excuse me, I'm very proud of. When we were closed the last week in January, we held virtual lunches. Teachers, students, families, and even some of the junior senior high school students logged in just to connect to tell us what they were doing to ask um if they had a teacher that was on that they remember from kindergarten, first, second, or third grade. It was really amazing. The picture in the bottom left is our reading specialist that has done a fabulous job with tier 2 and tier three interventions. The picture in the middle is a soontobe little rock's primary center Viking. This year we are um having two registration enrollment events. One that just happened in March and

030one that is slated to happen in May. and we're taking that event to the junior senior high school to allow for access and availability um for our families and community members to attend. And the last picture is of myself and two of our leaders as I developed a safety patrol at outside recess. As we look at our mission and vision, we align our goals um to that. making sure that we're focusing on empowering our students to achieve and reach their highest potential. This presentation is woven into our cool core beliefs as a building and as they connect to the district. Last year, we looked at our goals as an SRPC team, our way forward. We looked at school culture and climate, student achievement and student growth, positive behavior interventions, otherwise known as PBIS and social

031emotional learning, SEAL, and the importance of professional development and professional growth. We define our school culture as shared expectations, attitudes, and our identity. the routines, norms, procedures, and school traditions. Building those positive relationships amongst students, staff, faculty, families, and community members. Our SRPC climate really is our vibe, the physical and emotional safety, that sense of belonging, giving our students what they need when they need it to help them feel supported. Connecting to our culture and our climate would be our deliverables. I am so proud that we were able to work with our director of student services for creation of additional special education classrooms providing needed services and supports in a continuum of services and alignment to all of our students. Student of the month kind, capable, and in control. We've celebrated approximately 138 students in

032counting. We prioritized in our building level schedule morning meetings with the first five building classroom connections, mindfulness, character education and development. We've um created reset spaces in all classrooms and a buddy teacher classroom model. We've really worked hard to decrease teaching transitions. All home room teachers now are teaching science and social studies to their home room. I'd like to showcase one of our kindergarten teachers. Um all of them utilize transition time when students are taking group bathroom breaks to review um number skills, reading skills. This is an example of Mrs. Hudach having students in PBIS Viking Value fashion reviewing their site words for the week. Some additional um deliverables connecting to our culture and climate. I am so proud of our leadership and voice our Viking leaders. They're really our school ambassadors supported through PAX

033and Miss Lorett McCoy. They help kick off our weekly blessing bags and they greet all of our um community members and families at all of our school events. Our K to3 implementation of Clash Dojo has been absolutely amazing. Teachers are communicating, posting information. Parents are receiving daily if not weekly updates from administration. I'd like to also celebrate our school celebrations and programs from our back to school event, open house, Veterans Day programs, Black History Month celebrations, and our end of the year celebrations. It's been so amazing to have our high school students volunteering at those events to really make that connection with our students, their former teachers, and our community. Our future is definitely bright with those students being part of it. Mr. Liprillo has been taking the lead on our makerpace grant that we

034received last year and we are so excited to share some of those updates moving forward. Like I said, our spring enrollment dates, we have two dates. We already had one in March, one coming up in a few weeks in May. And then our connection to the upper elementary school, Miss Johnson and her team, really developing a wonderful grade three step up day in May for our third grade students that are going to be fourth grade students next year next year. And that's um a picture of one of our students with his perfect attendance award. When we look at our second pillar, we're looking at student achievement and growth. Student achievement, what do students know at a specific point of time? Student growth, what are the changes that are happening over time? Recognizing the improvements, meaningful

035access. Some of those deliverables we adopted as a district the gradual release of responsibility helping support teaching and learning with our teachers so we can ensure student growth. I'm proud that we are in the beginning stages of our K to3 MTSS model creating additional interventions and supports outside of the classroom with our reading specialists for students. We've developed grade level data team meetings meeting together as a team with our reading specialists at the midpoint of the nine weeks and the end of the nine weeks looking at classroom data progress monitoring monitoring and the next steps for student performance and really personalized student learning um embedded enrichment and intervention time with our Lexia core 5 and Alex programs. We've also implemented UFly um foundation program which helps support early literacy and phonics whole class in grades

036K and one differentiated professional learning communities to support our CSI plan PBIS small groupoup instruction still standards those are our new science standards our instructional framework work, different curricula developments within science, social studies, math, reading, and our special subjects, alignment of special education support and collaboration, and strategies for increasing student attendance. And a noticeable increase in our beginning of the year to middle of the year math maps data from September to uh January. If you notice, this is our overall student math growth from fall to uh winter. This chart chart shows that um 64% of all K to3 students showed growth between fall and winter. That would be September and January. The yellow, blue, and green colors at the top of the chart show all of the growth of our students. In comparison, this is

037our this chart shows our reading growth data from September through January. 60% of all of our students showed growth in reading. Looking at the yellow, green, and blue blocks. We are so proud of our students. Looking at our second pillar of who we are at SRPC and moving forward, PBIS and SEAL, positive behavior interventions and supports. Behavior can be taught and supported. This is one of our youngest learners using our calm down room practicing infinity breathing and um being able to have that space and that time to be able to readjust to leave instruction and then rejoin classwork and social emotional learning. How are we teaching our youngest learners self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making? Some of our deliverables, we have updated PBIS classroom lessons to encapsulate kind, capable, and in control.

038We are so proud of our updated PBIS signs to include um bathroom and restroom in the bus. Monthly PBIS bus meetings are happening um with administration. Mr. Dr. Lip Brillo has been going into the classrooms monthly to review the PBIS lesson of focus and to let our students know what our monthly PBIS incentives are going to be. Our PBIS team really work to revamp our Viking Shields. All members within our building and on the bus now have access to Viking Shields to be able to acknowledge and shout out our youngest learners when they're demonstrating their abilities to be kind, capable, and in control. We're very proud when we look at um PBIS and SEAL that um my school counselor and myself completed the three course program and restorative practices training. We're talking to students about

039the process, taking responsibility, understanding the impact and really understanding the harm and ways that we can rebuild relationships. All classrooms have reset spaces and fidget kits complement of our complements of our WQED grant that we received last school year. We developed a buddy teacher system school bus process for students that become disregulated from time to time. Mr. Lipillo has created a PBIS team newsletter and um we are reviewing our PBIS monthly students incentives for all students that receive 80% weekly of their Viking values. Our last pillar for professional um growth and alignment would truly be professional development and professional growth. Giving our teachers what they need when they need it. We're defining professional development as a structure targeted process looking at our CSI plan, recovery plan, and district comprehensive comprehensive plan. Our professional growth is

040skill-based knowledge enhanced ability to change reflection. really switching that mindset. Some of our deliverables, personalized learning pathways within our PLC morning meetings. We've created a menu option looking at school improvement coaching and mentoring, teacher-led PLC discussions, data analysis meetings, PBIS focus strategies, curriculum development with the help and support of Mr. Paul, a real huge focus on instructional design with small group planning in tier 1, special education alignment and supports and attendance improvement strategies. We have been working with our new teachers to really create targeted supports weekly and bi-weekly to check in on them outside of the formal and informal evaluation process. And I'm proud that our grade levels and special education teams are meeting weekly and bi-weekly to support shared student needs. Some additional deliverables um as we said our data team meetings are happening

041in SAP and MTSS implementation of scholastic news for social studies and a review and implementation of open sed. probably going to be moving in a different direction next year. Our teachers have been working with Mr. Paul and their um grade level teams for the curricula audit review looking at math and science. Also adopting an understanding of restorative practices when we look at training commitment conversations and those affective I statements. Some of the goals that we have for next year, we finished the 2627 master schedule. The teachers asked for additional instructional time in math and ELA that has been embedded to include intervention. Every grade level has a built-in intervention block that we're going to divide up three days a week for ELA small groupoup programming and two days a week for math small groupoup programming.

042Continuation of a deeper dive with counseling curricula. As Miss Johnson said, we notice that we need additional SEAL support. So, our school counselor is working within the ASA model to create programming and lessons for all students. She is going to be visiting all classrooms, fall, winter, and spring. She's in the process now of creating a staff needs assessment so we can understand what we're going to be working on this summer to kick off in August of 2026. And we're going to continue with bi-weekly data analysis within PLC time to really create that MTSS group. some of our final um book fors um exploring piloting a new math series and science curricula in the primary center. We're in the process of evaluating audit process. We are kicking off cursive writing instruction. It's embedded within our wonders

043reading and ELA program. So you're going to start seeing that information come home in grades two and three. um exploring of tier 2 interventions for PBIS, targeted check-in and checkout, specific skilled groups that help students build relationships, conflict resolution, relational aggression. We're lucky to have Gwen's girls come into our building, and they're really working with our second and third grade girls, but we're noticing a theme for all of our students, K to3. So, we really want to support those needs and those deficits within our students through our school counseling program. And we are so excited that the opening of the Stow rocks primary maker space will kick off in August 2026. This is a picture of the colorful furniture. We have all different types of educational bins. We have 3D printers, graphic designs, Lego structures.

044Our um assistant principal, Mr. Lipillo, and our K to6 steam teacher, Mrs. Carrie Smith, have done a wonderful job kicking off that initiative to really have projectbased innovative learning for our students. And that's it. >> Thank you very much. Anyone have any questions? >> Again, thank you for the very informative briefing. We appreciate that. Um we're all excited, happy for the future, you know, of our school district and looks like, you know, we're heading the right direction, you know. So, um looking forward to this a lot. Thank you very much. Love to see the work being done. Now we'll move on to our non consent agenda. Babies, y'all ready? Babies ready? Up first, wave and approve the reading of the March 26th, 2026 meeting of the Stur Rock School District Board of Directors regular legislative

045voting meeting. And number two, we accept the reading of the March 3rd, 2026 regular legislative voting meeting. Men appropriate West Career and Technology Center board of directors. 047actually behind this? So yes, as we um are building our budget for next year um for the 26 27 school year and then also within this um school year, the 25 26 school year, we look at the budget that was um done and then there are some line items, accounts that um was budgeted but nothing was spent on them or um different things had aligned throughout the year. So, we're looking at other accounts that um to make sure to ensure that we're spending in the right place because in the in the transparency, we want this to turn out to be that when we pull the report and we do our audit for next year that none of the accounts are negative, that we're actually spending in the correct accounts. >> Thank you. I appreciate that.

So what we're getting there is four and five intro session and then after they use the program for a while question and then grades four through all we'll onsite coaching session. That's

055fantastic. So that piece is 9,4 through six digital teacher licenses seven and eight supplies. And then one little piece that's not identified approval to be sh 636.7 $8,327 seems like kind of high but Uh it's going to be way less in subsequent years because science that first year you're buying a lot of new stuff that I like about the program and teachers like about the program standards which for science teacher inquis blended learning models. They're not all investig Great reading, skill development, comprehension possible disciplines inclusion focus where they're at regardless of ability level background. It's got all three ratings in number one regard. I've been looking at it for years. It was rated highly by our teachers and by oursel Thank you. Appreciate it. How about I you can feel your excitement. That's amazing. >>

056Appreciate you, sir. really quickly >> um to the board of directors and any community members watching, one of the things you're going to see from now moving forward is the shift in our focus on academics. While we're in academic re or in recovery does not mean that we don't have materials that prepare our students for their future. And that's what this year and next year really is going to be focused on. How are we ensuring that everything we purchase is vertically aligned? I want to ensure that our students are competitive against any other district or student, not just in locally, but across the United States. And that happens with making sure we have valuable aligned curriculum. So, I just wanted to add that note um so that everyone understood where we were going. So many

057times we heard teachers say, "Well, we just didn't ask for anything because we would be told no." Um, and then we wonder why. Um, our scores are not where they need to be. And so, if our expectation is to develop and grow as a district, we have to make sure those materials um are aligned just the same way. Especially, you know, when we have students graduating and wanting to go directly into a career field, we need to make sure our materials help get them there. they want to go to college and they're taking um assessment SAT or SAT to get into college. If our materials are not aligned to get them there, then we're not setting them up for the pathways um that are designed for them. So, I just wanted to add that little

058nugget. >> Thank you. Thank you. And and just not to piggyback quote unquote, but I'm going to. Um closed mouths don't get fed, right? And I say that to say I remember walking in this in some something some certain schools and talking to teachers and they're saying that, you know, I don't want to ask a question. I don't want to ask for this because I'm just not going to get it. Not going to get it. It's going to be a no before I even start. Right. Um and I just want to just fuss on what you just said. Um, as far as listen, we were told when our first recovery officer was here, we have to stop nickeling and diamond or like we have to be careful about how we're spending, but also we can't

059nickel and dime for our community, for our kids, for our teachers, right? It's just not fair to them. Um, so while we're being careful financially, we also need to make sure that we're being competitive and looking out for some of the good stuff, you know what I mean, that we have room for. Um, and and again, close mouths, don't get fed. If there's something that anyone needs, something anyone wants, please continue to bring it up. Right? I rather you be told we can't get it right now versus don't answer the question, it's automatically a no, right? If you ask a question, it might be a yes. You know what I mean? It might be, hey, I'll I'll try to work on that. You know what I mean? So, please continue to ask the questions. Thank

060y'all very much putting the leg work in for this. So, thank you. Up next, approve the summer credit recovery school from June 8th to July 2nd, 2026 at the junior city high school for grades 9 through 11. >> So, one of the things we're um doing here is if you ever have a conversation with a student that has fallen behind, they oftentimes lose that hope and cannot see how can I start re making up credits and I'm sitting in my current classes. So thought it was important to offer an opportunity for students who need to catch up some time that's not during the school year that's just dedicated on recovering classes, recovering credits for classes they did not pass the first time. And so um that way we're we're working to get as many of

061them on track before the start of the school year instead of getting into the school year trying to catch students up while taking their other six courses. Um and sometimes you they can feel overwhelmed on how am I just how am I supposed to accomplish that and take my current courses. So really trying to lift some of the stress off of students and off parents who may not be able to send their student to summer school. Um, so I had an opportunity to shift um some grant funds into this bucket just for students to take credit recovery >> in the summer. >> Um then I'm not sure um if it was at a board meeting or at another meeting where we spoke about our um virtual Vikings program and that our success rate was around

0628%. which is nothing to celebrate, but I'm very transparent and I don't make up things. That's just what the data was. And so, in order to be competitive against all the other cyber charters, we need to ensure that our program was very robust, had um clear timelines, check-ins, checkout, actual teachers um checking in with students. And so Cynica Valley has a well-renowned um cyber program. It's a public school um and they actually have their own teachers. We are going to partner with them um with our virtual Vikings program. And so um while there is a slight increase in cost, um I think the benefit for our students in completing and being on track and graduating on track far outweighs um the difference. It's not much of a difference, but there is a difference and and

063truly because of the staffing that does the check-in and checkouts with students. So, that's why we've shifted um to working with Sica Valley. Approve number 10, approve life touch school service agreement to provide individual student pictures and yearbook services for Virginia High School. It's for next year. Oh, I see it. I see it. Appreciate >> everything. >> Love that. Love that. >> Appreciate that. Before we go into personnel management and and break for executive session and end the meeting publicly, um I want to recognize that we do have um Miss Alexis Welsh here, middle school girls basketball coach coming up. Um I know she's here today and I didn't see her on uh the agenda to speak probably for next week or something, but she was told to come today. So if you want to please uh give your microphone, please introduce yourself. >> Hi, I'm Alexis Welsh. >> And don't be don't it's okay. Don't be

065nervous. It's all right. >> Uh my passion passion for basketball has gone far beyond the game itself. I'm deeply committed to using sports as a platform to build confidence, discipline, and leadership in young athletes. As a prospective head coach for the middle school girls basketball here at So Rocks, I am driven by the opportunity to make a positive impact on students at a critical stage of their development. I believe middle school basketball is where athletes begin to shape not only their skills, but their identity, work ethic, and sense of belonging. I want to create a program where student athletes feel supported, challenged, and empowered both on and off the court. My goal is to teach the fundamentals of the game while also emphasizing teamwork, accountability, and resilience. As a health and fizz teacher in the

066Keys Rocks community, I understand the importance of providing students with a consistent role model and meaningful opportunities. I'm committed to building a culture of respect, effort, and pride within the program where every player feels valued and motivated to grow. Ultimately, why I want to do this position is to make a lasting difference helping young women bu de develop confidence in themselves, build strong relationships, and carry lessons learned throughout basketball throughout basketball into their everyday lives. >> Thank you. Before you go, just really quick, what what's your background in basketball? Any other sports coaching? >> Uh, I coached basketball for five years. I had to take a year off for my master's degree. >> Um, and then I I did that recreationally at North Hill School District. >> And then I also played for North for

067North Hills from I was five till I did in college. I love it. I love it. Thank you. Any questions? She said, >> so we have a magic question and she's already in the district, so don't you know, she's already here working with us. But why rocks, right? We already here, but you want to reemphasize that. >> So Rocks has been a huge part of my family. My my dad's side of the family all grew up here. My aunt actually played here So Rock uh for a bunch of years. Um so Rock has just felt like a family the whole entire time I've been here and been home to my family for a lot of years. >> Thank you. Appreciate you. Thank you. >> Right. I I ain't judging. I ain't saying nothing. Um, or

068solicitor, you have anything, man? >> All right. >> Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. We love it. we want to get back to make sure to come into board meetings please and being recognized whether it's every other month whether it's quarterly whatever you know you all in the superintendent can figure out hey appreciate it but we wanted them to come back in front of us please um so we can see them recognize them you know giving the love that they deserve right so if we can please just get back in the habit of doing that please that be perfect >> I

069love it y'all that's what I'm talking about asking. >> That's what I'm talking about. Um, if there's nothing else publicly, um, we're going to go and break for executive session and we will not be coming back. Thank you all very much for attending tonight's meeting. >> Next week's Yes, thank you. Next week's meeting, I have that written down, too. Next week's meeting is going to be virtual only. I say again, virtual only. So, please do not show up at the high school. Please do not show up anywhere. U, we will be virtual only. And one more quick shout out to our girls flag team. They just won 32 to 18. So congrats to them. >> Thank you all. Have a good night. I don't know. Said something. I'm I'm here. They still winning.
