Wow, we have a packed house tonight. >> Roll call, please. >> Mr. Cullen, >> here. >> Miss Curran, >> here. >> Mr. D'Angelo, >> he's excused. >> Mr. Neoth >> here. >> Miss Pagleion >> here. >> Mr. Polyico >> here. >> Mr. Perolo, >> excused. >> Where'd you hear? >> Mr. Stilton >> here. >> And Mr. Smith >> here. What the >> solicitor? >> Yes. Thank you, Mr. President. There are two executive sessions to report on tonight. The first was uh March 10th, 2026. An executive session began at 6 p.m. and ended at 8:15. All board
members were present except for Mr. Cole and Miss Curran. Uh as well as Dr. Davis and Dr. Smith. Uh issues regarding personnel, uh curriculum, and uh information items were discussed at that executive session. Tonight executive session started at 6:30. All board members were present along with Dr. Davis, Mr. McHugh, and myself. Informational items and personnel items were discussed at the at the executive session was which concluded just before this meeting started. That is my report. >> Thank you. >> Uh approve the agenda with a setendum or tabled items. Motion. >> Motion. >> Second. >> And Jeff second. Any questions? All those in favor? >> I. Nays abstensions. Motion carries. Uh reports and presentations. Dr. Davis. >> Yes. I just like to take this opportunity to the last part of February and almost all the way
up till now March, we had snow, rain, hail, sleep, and everything else in between. just like to on behalf of the board and administration uh uh express our gratitude uh to our custodial and maintenance staff, our uh for the hard work uh of getting the school ready uh so we can have school and not cancel school. Uh we do not have a large uh staff. uh they rolled up the sleeves, they did whatever we had to do to get uh your sons and daughters in here, whether it be on a twohour delay or etc. So, I want to commend them for their efforts. Uh it's well appreciated. Uh and we also like to thank the burrow because uh there are certain areas that the burrow is responsible. This is not our property that our kids
walk, especially the pathways. Uh without their support, we would not be able to get uh school open. So I like on behalf of the board of education administration state and to the parents like to thank our people for doing be the best they can be. Thank you. >> Thank you and totally agree as well Dr. Julie Bowser. >> Uh our Title 4 funds um continue to support our STEM gift and enrichment programs and professional development. Our sixth grade students are currently participating in an engaging pathways project in the STEM class that encourages them to explore potential careers while developing important real world skills. Throughout the project, the students choose from several STEM focused pathways that reflect fields they may pursue in the future, including engineering and design, computer science, coding, robotics and automation, digital fabrication
and 3D printing, and media and creative technology. Within each pathway, students use hands-on tools and technology similar to what professionals use in these fields. They're collaborating um to research ideas, designing solutions, build prototypes, and present their work while strengthening these important skills such as creativity, communication, critical thinking, and problem solving. As part of this work, some of the students are also designing and creating 3D printed and cardboard constructed Bristol landmarks to help celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 50th anniversary of Historic Bristol Day. These projects allow students to connect their learning to the local community while using technology and design skills to bring pieces of Bristol's history to life. Our Title 4 family engagement event, Family Spring Fling, will be held on April 10th from 6:00 to 8. We are looking
forward to weling welcoming our families for an evening of connection and engagement with our school community. Uh this week our students are participating in the PA Firefly testing. It's from the Department of Ed. It's a benchmark assessment that aligns with the PA core standards and measures the same knowledge and skills as on the PSSAs. The Firefly is fully online. It's computer adaptive assessment that helps teachers identify students strengths and their needs. This is the second time they're taking it this year. And on March 30th, it's professional development day. Our teachers will participate in an inservice day focused on the writing revolution. Two of our teachers have been formerly trained and will lead a train the trainer model with our staff. This is a part of our title one plan for professional development and connects directly
to our ongoing book study in an effort to strengthen writing instruction across grade levels. >> Thank you, Dr. Bowser. >> Mr. the nostalgia >> title uh title one update. We're continuing to have data meetings currently analyzing um our firefly tests uh analyzing that data to prepare for our PSSA testings um that will happen in April. want to congratulate uh the new uh National Honor Society uh inductees uh Janna Sigola, Jacob Barber, Aiden Aiden Kendallia, Donna Capriyotti, Eddie Diaz, Abigail Henz, Kaylee Janusa, Pton Mlan, Roco Migaliachi, Olive Olive Miller, Dominic Mustazzi, Luchana Snider, and Nyler Wilson Randall. Uh on 3:26, Mrs. Kubrick's physics class visited Drux University. We got a personal tour from uh one a senior uh engineer student from Drexel. Uh about a two-hour tour. Um it was a great um tour. It was
a lot of uh questions and answers from our students uh with our tour guide. It was very beneficial um eye opening to our students um and a great experience overall. On 313, Miss Senna held her first quote unquote Shark Tank competition. And the reason why I added this uh for this month starting next year uh as per the department of education um school finance personal finance will be mandatory for all freshman for all 2030 grads. Um we already have it within our curriculum. Um it was a wonderful experience um to see our students actually present um to a panel of four teachers. I continue meeting with our English, science, and math departments. Uh we're getting ready for our Keystone testing in May. Uh analyzing the CDTs. Um I put on the table over here um
in front of um uh Stephen, Mr. uh Mr. Colin, Mr. Neoth, our uh poster for our uh Adams family play. So if you guys want to read it and pass it down, our Adam our play this year is the Adams family. Um, it will take place on 4:10 at 7:00 and 4:11 at 1:00 and also again at 4:11 at 7:00 in the auditorium. Um, you can go on our web page. Uh, Mr. Heatherington is going to post the uh poster has a uh QR code. You can get tickets um through the QR code. Um, I wrote good luck to the uh bot Bristol High School Botchi team. Um, the team competed in the PIAA state uh botchi finals. Actually was today in Hershey, Pennsylvania in the Giant Center. Um, our team took fifth place today.
It was televised. Um, we lost the first match 3-2 and then we end up winning our next two match matches to place fifth overall in the state of Pennsylvania. So, very proud of those students and those teachers and that program. I want to thank our community um alumni and board members for their continued support of the free market at the high school and the pantry at the elementary school. Special thanks to King George for their generous donation of food and personal care items which will be shared between our schools. On 313 we will have a teacher inservice no school. Um spring break is going to be 41 through 46 and the students return on 47. Um, also in front of Mr. Cullen is also a So, we're gonna have our first uh transition uh resource
fair. Steve, you have that in front of you? >> Yeah, just test it out. >> So, this was developed uh by Tammy Nars, our um 18 to 22 year old program teacher. So, this is this is for all students and families who have special needs. um connecting them with um every resource that Bucks County has to offer um regardless of uh school age, before school age, and even after uh school age um opportunities. So, um it's a very important time um when you are um when you're a family that has somebody um who has a disability and they're getting to a certain age and connecting them with those services once their school experience is over. Um because once they turn a certain age, everything kind of drops. Um, and I know this for a fact
because I've been a special ed case teacher for 23 years and I've been through all these transition meetings, but Mrs. Norris has put together a wonderful opportunity. So, I invite we're inviting everybody to come and show up. Um, we will post the information um on our Facebook web page and also on our um school website. on 52. Gabby's Warriors will hold their annual blood drive from 9 to 2 here at Snider Gerate. Um, also want to say good luck to our sports teams. Um, I also want to say today softball uh first game won 15 nothing. Home game, our baseball team won 4-3 today. And I want to thank our our our guidance department um and also our guidance counselor Debbie Connor. um our nurse Amy Daly >> and our secretaries Beth Gallagher and Ann
Wolfinger because they're so busy right now. End of the year is a really busy time for us and um without their help um it would be very difficult to get some of these things down and get some of these service for the for our kids who need them. So I want to thank them and um that's it. >> Thank you,000. >> Thank you. um public participation. I usually give a report at the court going to be a little it's going to be a little different tonight. Um would like to let all of you know what's been accomplished here in the last three years. What's before your eyes did not exist and it hasn't existed for 30 to 40 years in a proper way. There were attempts and then it was lost. We remember the days
of Mr. Bachmann who I rever and we all rever in Bristol. We know that. But that was 40 to 50 years ago. This is now 2025. We're in a new era. Many schools around us have a complete arts department and a complete arts course offerings for many kids. I coached football. We love I love football. I mean, Nick knows that. We sit down and we chat about that. And I also wrestled. I was I was a lucky guy, but I was also d in dancing music full-time since probably I've been three years old. been top internationally and throughout the United States. And the reputation of my own twin brother who's passed and myself is very visible. It's all you have to do is go to Princeton where I was last night and I still get
called to do their top bands. I'm the same person. I'm the same person that's here. The very same guy that's there is here. And there's a reason for that. The reason we will do through our own craft for you tonight, but this is so important because when you try to do things in a very conservative way and think that it doesn't matter. Well, it does because we have a theater arts department and believe it or not, for those in theater, I went up there and Mr. Nstazzy I I've been watching what they've been doing on stage and it's astounding. I mean, they've been doing a great job. Would you agree with that? >> Yes. I I'm I'm really very proud of what they're doing. And they're using live music also, by the way, which I
didn't know as of today. And I think I think that's that's that's a credit to Bristol Bur. It really is. It's also a credit. I'm actually here this is all positive. I'm actually here to thank you for everything you've done. I want to thank my two principles for supporting what I'm doing. And I want to thank each and every one of you because this could not have been done without you. But when you take something for granted, you can lose it in a minute and a half. And it takes three years to lose that. I'll give you the timeline. I'll give you the timeline. When you think you're saving, you're actually losing. I've have a proposal which I've given everyone here that is that's maximum efficiency with the three teachers we have plus myself. You
that will not cost you one more dime. And we have a full arts department in the high school which we haven't had in 30 years. And that's incredible. We will have over 55 kids in the band. That's probably about equivalent to what Mr. Bachmann had in his big band. Maybe he had a few more. I don't know. Back then there were probably less other activities. So we'll have a mini three bands next year which will be combined to make that band a whole band. Now when we talk band, everyone thinks band. Okay. Well, good. That's a concert and that's whatever it is. or maybe you know as we played for Bristol Bur some of the outings here or whatever for Lafayette and all of that it's much more than that it's education and we have
to look at it that way the transfer if you look at these guys up here you wouldn't believe some of the transitions they've made in their own in in their own lives just in in their marks in school and what they're doing and their behavior and the the quorum look before you that's why I'm here I want to put it right in front of your eyes looking at discipline. That's when I say discipline, everybody thinks corporal punishment. Downy's out of his mind. No, that's discipline right there. And they're your kids and they're ours and we couldn't be more proud and we don't want to lose it. So music is a language. Do you all agree with that? It's certified language. I know your solicitor does because he's he's a musician. Okay. So well, he is.
His family is too. Okay. Bottom line is I'll speak through the language of music tonight. You be the judge. Love you all. I told him get Heat. Heat. Heat. Here we go. Here we go. Heat. WOW. >> DR. DOWNEY, I'd like to thank you for bringing the kids. They did an awesome job. Every one of them should be proud. You should be proud >> for what have you done and brought in the last 3 years here. >> And if I can just say one more thing, they play for approximately less than a year or two. >> Most three years maybe once. If you were at 108, it's not ashamed to say this. Council Rocky, I told him I was up in the shadow before they name everything else. The bottom line is in 3 years
that's equivalent to a fifth grade player in any other public school. What would you expect? Do you do you realize the multitude of of you know sacrificing all that they've done to get to the level and just that time? And once it's again, you hired me. You hired my method. That's what I invented that method. That's what makes it work. They're all Every one of these kids are reading music. No one's playing by ear. It is all academic. So, it's all critical thinking. >> Well, they proved it. They proved it tonight and they showed how dedicated they are. Absolutely. >> Because this doesn't this doesn't just pop out of nowhere. You have to practice, practice, practice. And that was beautiful. >> Thank you very much. Sorry we held you up so uh we didn't get
out here soon enough. >> Sorry we held you guys up to be late but we had business. >> The executive session ran longer than usual so I apologize. >> Thank you. >> I assume we're still open for the public. >> Yes, it's open. Okay. My name is Paul Atinson. Um I have a student here, Nathan. Um, and basically hearing these guys play and perform is highly impressive and let give you a bit about my background. The reason why I ended up in the states is literally because of the music business. So for me coming from London working actually through like anywhere from the BBC television through to all the big recording studios like Abby Road and you know numerous studios uh working all places like the Hit Factory in New York um Philadelphia International like
when they were open Sigma Sounds I've worked at pretty much all the major studios pretty much around the world in terms of hearing what you just heard. I don't think anyone actually understands what you've heard. Their intonation is actually really really clear and very high and precise. I've worked in a lot of studios with a lot of bad performing musicians which I have to make sound better. So I appreciate how well they're actually performing. So that that inspiration for me is a multitude of things and these are the multitude of things that kind of like I consider when listen to these kids. You can teach more the English, you can teach more the math, you can teach more like, you know, about using Excel spreadsheets, all this type of stuff. You got competition coming up
with AI. So all those kids are going to do go for a lot of academics, get to a job position where they're literally going to be babysitting AI. So literally, they're going to be like proof reading. My attitude is my education put me through to a certain perspective. I've been an electrical engineer. I've been a mechanical engineer. Been a sound engineer. and I still go out and do like major tour dates. Now, um the business in music is projected to be another $34 billion this year. It's a big business deal. Not saying that each one of these guys are going to be able to like, you know, make that kind of money in the top tier programs, but there's a lot of business out there. I'm not saying they should all become musicians either. The
attitude I have is the music implementation in schools teaches these kids a different way to think and obviously left side, right side of the brain. So therefore, as they progress through their lives, they're going to think different than other kids. If they come up to finding a problem, they're going to have a creative solution from that other side perspective of their brain. Not many people actually can actually perceive or understand what that even means. But these guys are going to be creative thinkers. So in terms of what they've done, their performance, beautiful. And uh I encourage that you continue to do it. I've been talking to the guys for over the last like 3 months. So for me, looking at their program and what they've achieved and how young they are, um I also have
a lot of audio equipment. Um, I've been into the school and I've seen how lacking it is in the school. So, I've actually kind of put a proposal together with these guys and said, "How about I bring a bunch of my gear in here. We get you guys established and actually kind of bring the level up because you guys deserve it. And I'm witnessing what these guys are doing, how much work they're putting in, and I want to support it." So, it cost nothing to the school. I'm doing all the background checks that are necessary. I've done all my FBI, CIA background checks, all that type of stuff. That's all in the bag. Uh I've got a few uh certificates, whatever it needs to be handed into you guys. Um so bottom line is for
me is I can bring that equipment in. I can set up professionally for you guys free of charge, which I want to do for the kids. I want to do it for the teachers. What that'll able you guys to do is have a better music program, um a better sound system. Not only that, it's going to help the drama classes that you guys are doing out there, your performances across the board. It's going to improve I've been working in that industry for 40 years, so I should know a thing or two about how to get that right in there. What I also was going to encourage to do is if there's extra time in their kind of like daily activities like during the evenings, weekends, even anyone that wants to get involved, I want to
set up a program for them. What that will then encourage them to do is not only do their music, not only do their dramatics, not only do all their performances, it's going to help obviously the quality of that show improve dramatically, but I'm going to teach those kids how to use that technology to their advantage. So that way, if they're doing independent performances themselves elsewhere, they're going to know how to use that equipment. If they want to put on a show and there no teacher present and they want to actually practice, they're going to use that equipment. So that's my offer to the school district and you know we put that proposal through. So uh the powers that be uh get a hold of it please read through it and uh you know try to
fast track it as quickly as possible and get these kids running as quickly as possible. >> Thanks. >> Thank you very much. >> I just wanted to say uh thanks to you guys for supporting the music program. Um my son uh he uh he really enjoys it and he's doing uh great in everything. He's one of the students that was just inducted in the National Honor Society. Um and your music is a gift. It really is. Whether uh it's a hobby, um it could be an occupation. Um and also it's an identity for um a musician. It could take you uh I played music for years and I got to see the whole country uh and internationally when I was younger. Um but it's a creative act outlet and it really is just a lifelong
gift and thanks for your support. >> Thank you. >> Excuse me, sir. Sir, just just for the minutes, could you just tell us your name? Yeah, >> I thought he said >> Did you write it down? >> Nothing. You said >> Michael Migliachi. >> Thank you very much. >> I thought he said it. >> Yeah. >> And anyone else? >> Good evening everyone. Good evening. My name is Joe Stallone. >> I am also a musician. I actually did a project with Mike a couple years ago. He's really great. >> Mike or Mark? >> No, >> Jeff. Sorry. I want to apologize. >> Uh I was a musician and I lived above him like 30 years ago. So sorry about that. Anyway, I want to say uh my son is in the program here. My daughter
